Even though the subject matter is sometimes hard, he keeps the class awake with witty stories about pin worms and your anus!

He's great! he makes it fun to learn an otherwise boring subject!

He is the easiest biology teacher that I have ever had. He is very helpful in lab.And he is also very funny.

Mr Haynes - GREAT teacher. He is laid back & has a quick wit. Study your notes & you will do great. Lab exams are easy but don't skip any labs,or you will be lost! He goes out of his way to help anyone who comes to him - you've just got to show an interest. He gives quiz grades for xtra credit (wrong answers do not count against you. No regrets!

Loved this class. Mr. Haynes made this class interesting. If you show up for his class, take good notes, and study, you will come out of his class with an A.

Easy class. He requires only 50 quiz points and the rest are bonus points. I ended up having 110+ bonus points at the end of the semester. He allows you to skip the final if you have the grade you want. He explains things very clearly and will help you until you understand it. I had him for 103 and 104 and would definitely recommend him!

I just loved this class. Mr. Haynes is a fantastic teacher. Explains everything so well and will give further explanation on anything you need. Does a lot of hands on and visual learning techniques. Easy to approach and so lovable. My favorite class for my freshman year. Can't wait to take BIO104 with him.

I loved this class. It was very easy and a lot of fun. You do need to come to class but you might not need the text book. You will need the atlas. But he is very helpful and is always giving out extra credit.

Really enjoyed this class. He goes slow and doesn't mind repeating things if you don't understand. Makes things fun, gives plenty of extra quiz or assignments for extra points. If he tells you it will be on the test, it will be on the test. Only wished he taught anatomy 1 and 2!

This class is straightforward. Print off his pp lecture and write notes on them during lecture. Study these for exam. Take pics with your phone of all the lab material, print them off, and study those. If you do both of these things, you will get an A in class. Mr Haynes is a great teacher, awesome guy, and will help you if you need it.

LOVED MR. HAYNES! He was very helpful when asking him questions about upcoming tests. Most of his tests were given directly from lectures and he even hinted out some of the material that the test would cover in both his class and lab. Lab exams were extremely easy, take plenty pictures of microscope slides and his models around the class! RECOMMEND

Very nice and funny teacher. I am not really good at Biology at all but he makes it very interesting. Just don't be late for his class, he isn't joking when he says that he will lock you out. If you wait about 10 or 15 minutes he will let you in after he pauses in the lecture, just doesn't want to interrupt the class lecture. Nice overall

Mr. Haynes... I LOVED this man. His lectures can be long at times, but what BIO class isn't like that? He gives great parallels to help his students understand the material. He is also very funny & offers a lot of extra credit as well. Mr. Haynes radiates kindness, and you can tell he's very knowledgeable about his career... which is so attractive.

Mr. Haynes is absolutely one of my favorite professors at Shelton. I had him for BIO 103 & 104 and could not have picked a better teacher. I usually hate Biology but he made it very easy to learn the material and kept things interesting so you paid attention during lecture. He gives a ton of extra credit so it's basically impossible to do poorly.

If you need a bio, this is the class take! He makes his lectures understandable by using analogies. He gives out a multitude of extra credit. I received so much that I didn't have to take my final, and I still got an A. The tests can be difficult, but they are fair; you just have to study.

Dumbs biology down. TONS of extra credit. Because of all the extra credit I was able to get an easy A putting forth minimal effort and getting B's on all my tests.

Great professor. If you go to class, you will get everything you need. He offers "homework" that is easy. So many of the "homework" and quiz grades go towards the actual quiz grade. Once you get all your quiz points, all the other points are extra towards your final grade! No lecture book needed because he shows it on the powerpoint , get lab book.

Mr. Haynes is an awesome teacher. His lectures can get a little long but he makes the test straight from the notes and powerpoint. He gives lots of easy quiz/homework grades and those really make up a big part of your final grade... Always do the homework! His class is fun and we have a good laugh in every class.

He is amazing teacher. Makes sure your understanding what he's teaching you. Gives out easy quiz grades, and in lecture he basically tells you whats going to be on the test. His test are multiple choice and you have a chance to get bonus points on the test. If you miss an exam you have a chance to make it back up on designated makeup days.

Mr. Haynes loves what he does. I think that is what makes him such a good teacher. He breaks things up into sections and makes it to where anyone can understand the topic. I wish I could take him again.

He was an absolute joy to have as a prof. He is super funny and likes to make sure that students are actually engaged and learning the material. He gives straightforward notes and tells you what to study the most, just an awesome instructor overall.

Mr. Haynes really enjoys what he does and it shows. If you ever need any help, just email him and he will normally get back to you pretty quickly. His lectures are the main bulk of his class, giving a lot of weight on the exams like most classes. Just pay attention and have fun.

Mr. Haynes was fun to listen to during lecture. He's clear on grading criteria, but you need to study. Not graded on many things so make sure you do well on what you're graded on.

What an amazing guy! I took the half online, half in class part where lecture was online but lab was in person. Mr. Haynes was amazing and fun, made the class enjoyable and easy! Extra points on tests and lab assignments! Must attend the one class a week but it usually ends in half the time! Great Class, Great Guy!

Definitely your best bet if you're weak in Bio. STEM's my worse area of study and I passed with an A even though I got two D's out of the five tests. However, to pull something like this off, you gotta attend class regularly because the bulk of his extra credit comes from quiz assignments and Critter of the Week. Great at teaching it simple!

I took his class online for BIO 102!! It was the best class Ive taken so far. He responds to emails very fast, and is always willing to help out. The assignments and tests were very easy if you studied material!

Mr. Haynes is a very understanding professor. I highly recommend him!! His lectures are put into real world scenarios making it easier to comprehend. He gives A LOT of extra credit if you just show up to class. Biology has never been a strong suite of mine and I still got a B. He always understood when I was having trouble and made sure to resolve.

Amazing teacher. I had taken BIO 103 in person, but had to switch to online due to COVID, and took BIO 104 online over the summer. Online was MUCH easier than in person. We used the same textbook in both 104 and 104, so if you are taking both, make sure to have it. Lectures were great, but I recommend recording them for study purposes.

Let me just start out by saying that I have never been the biggest fan of science and I always struggled. Mr. H actually makes biology easy to understand and if you don't, he is always willing to help! He creates his own powerpoints that he bases his exams on so you don't need the book! Gives tons of easy extra credit assignments! 10/10 recommend!

Mr. Haynes is a really, really good professor. Just pay attention to what he's asking for in a project/test and you'll do fine. One of the best online courses I've taken.

I liked Mr. Haynes for Bio 103. He was easy to me. He's a heavy lecturer and all you do is take notes. My biggest advice would be to study each chapter every day at least a week before his exam and you'll do great. He also gives alot of extra credit and he's funny!

Mr.Haynes was a great BIO103 teacher. I did'nt think I would do good in this class and the material would be hard. But he makes his class interesting, goes along with the notes, the test are average on difficulty, and he gives alot of extra credit. You are stupid if you don't do his optional extra credit it can make or break your grade on the test.

Mr. Haynes was awesome! Super caring dude, the lab does require a lab handbook, but he sometimes sells them at the beginning of the semester from the ones he's collected from previous semesters for cheap. The exams are 45-50 questions, and the midterm/final is 75 questions. PowerPoints are easy to follow.

Best teacher

He is a really good BIO teacher! He does not use the textbook but creates PowerPoints that you have to complete which I think benefits us students to dive deeper into the material. You will use the lab book and labs require time but are fairly easy. Only downside is the midterm and final exam, 100 questions that need to be completed in 80 minutes.

i enjoyed his class. You do have to study outside of class unless you have a good memory/photographic memory. he has interesting lectures he makes messes on the floor and uses your gatorade bottle off your desk for examples lol. overall he's a good teacher i learned a lot i'd definitely take him again bc i know i'd pass

Prof Haynes was absolutely amazing! I took bio at a different school at first and it was so hard and I didn't understand anything but he helped so much. He tries to make the content related to real life so you can relate to it. So much extra credit too! My only complaint is that there are no recorded lectures, or textbook, just powerpoint slides.

a lot of the in between work is really easy, some of the easiest i've ever had! However the test can be a bit hard if you aren't a great test taker. He's funny from my experience (im taking dual) he will give extra credit opportunities sometimes. Just a dual warning the grade on canvas is not your official grade and will be calculated at the end!

If you follow along in class and go over the notes he gives you, you'll do great. Very easy to follow along during lectures and labs. Very fun class
