Excellent Teacher, goes off on tangents of neuroscience
really nice guy and very helpfull. knows alot about science but not too much about business. tests are fair but graded extremely weird
Really explained things well. As long as you go to class and take notes you will be fine.
Teaches well, explains well. Fair tests and assignments. Really wants to help his students succeed.
One of my favortie HESC profs. Doesn't try to trick you on tests; always incredibly willing to help in any way; very approachable. Go to class just to hear his stories!
Best prof here! Always willing to help, very very very intelligent!
Knight is the man, I love this class. Attendance isn't really necessary but it's worth it
Dr. Knight is awesome. Really loves what he teaches. Class isn't really hard as long as you review the notes and read the chapters
Great teacher, really loves what he does and is soo enthusiastic about it. Class is out of 100 points. 60 points are online tests that are 10pts each and then the final is 40 points and cumulative. Knight really wants his students to do well and enjoy the material. Attendance is not mandatory but well worth going.
Professor Knight is my favorite professor at UD. Very passionate about his students and the things he teaches. Always have alternatives to accommodate students' needs so they'll have the best grade possible. 10 sakai assessments at 10 points each and counts the best 6. The other 40 points are from the final, which is a take home!
He is a piece of Spencer Pratt. Sending out millions of emails in one day. This lecture was boring, I went to two of the lectures and both of them I was sleeping. I used the book and slides to study because I heard he only went over max of 5 slides/lecture. I did pretty good considered the fact that I never showed up for class.
Knight is a teacher that truly loves what he does. The class is not hard and that is what makes it truly enjoyable. He has some very interesting tidbits of information and shows some very cool videos. Sometimes the lectures are boring but overall it is a class that a person who loves exercise will love the class.
Love him! A lot of people do not go to his class, but i recommend you go! he loves teaching and loves when students have questions and participate! he is passionate and understands that we have many other classes to study for so he teaches without giving us tons of work/studying. Quizs and final are easy/fair!
Knight is crazy. He goes off on a tangent, and then he'll go off on a tangent about the tangent, and the next think you know you're watching a Maroon 5 music video because he heard the song in the car this morning. He's all over the place, but he really is passionate and he does care. Lectures aren't really worth it, but he's a pretty fair prof.
Really good teacher who cares about his students and is passionate about what he does. He goes off topic sometimes but class isn't bad and he is an all around nice guy.
The class was based on the powerpoints and book. 10 quizzes were based on examples he uses. 10 quizzes, top 6 count. other 40% of the grade is the final. The final was on a lot of details that were hard to remember so read the text for the final and memorize the powerpoints. Boring lecture, rereads powerpoints. Hard final, easy class. Got an A-.
I came into this class thinking it was going to be a breeze from what I heard. You don't have tests all year until the final, because you have online quizzes every week, and you have NO idea what to expect for the final. I emailed him to ask a question and he was very unhelpful.I studied a lot for the final and ended up with a C+ in the class.
Horrible professor. Barely has any notes on the slide, but the final is so in depth you'll wonder where he got his information from. The quizzes also do not match up on what is on the slides as well as what he teaches in class. The average of the final exam was a 67% and made a big deal out of curving it 3 points. He's very unhelpful
Knight is one of the most intelligent individuals at UD. If you dont do well in this class, you should seriously reevaluate your career path. Learned more from him than I did in the next two years of undergrad.
Worst professor I've ever had. Online quizzes are hard, doesn't tell you what to expect on the final, just tells you to study everything.(Slides+Book+Supplemental website). Absolutely ridiculous. Thinks his class is the only one you're taking. Don't take this class!
GREAT! It is very obvious how much passion he has for his field. He goes off on tangents and talks about his research a lot, but you pay thousands of dollars for your education... why would you not accept expert knowledge right in front of you? They're not irrelevant stories. Pay attention, use your brain, and an A/A- isn't tough.
worst professor i've ever had.
Came into the class with a lot of anatomy/medical background, and that is what saved my grade. Quiz questions were very tricky and not straight forward, more of a choose the best answer type. Final wasnt too bad if you went to lecture and paid attention, but could be tough for a breadth class. Overall, expect tricky quizzes and 100 emails a day
Literally went to class for the first week and realized that lecture was unnecessary. Counts the best 6 of 11 online quizzes with questions straight from the book. One final exam at the end of the semester. Studied the quiz questions and the textbook for a few hours the night before the exam and finished with an A-. GPA boosterrrr
Dr. Knight is very passionate about what he is teaching, even though he teaches the material in a very random order. Reading the textbook wasn't necessary, and there are no tests throughout the semester; just 10 online quizzes and one cumulative final. The final consisted mostly of questions from the quizzes, so it was easy! Take this class!
This class may seem intimidating when you realize the only thing counting towards your grade is one cumulative final exam and 10 online quizzes. He makes the material seem harder than it has to be and people dont do well because attendance isnt mandatory and they skip class. Go to class, pay somewhat attention and you'll be fine. Exam isnt too bad
This class is a pretty easy A. Its not really necessary to go to class but I would recommend it. If you go he pretty much says things that are on the quizzes and the quiz questions are the EXACT same questions that are on the exam. He likes to go on tangens though so it just makes you laugh sometimes.
Great teacher very knowledgeable, has a passion for the subject. Very helpful. Ten online quizzes and a final. Online quizzes are 60% lowest 4 drop. Uses course capture.
He loves the class and is really enthusiastic about teaching. However, I would not take this class unless you have to. Your grade is 60% online quizzes you take 10 and he drops the lowest 4 and 40% is a cumulative final. His power points are kind of confusing and the class isn't hard but it is more difficult than you would expect.
It is NOT mandatory to go to this class or to buy the textbook. I found Knight to be a little bit condescending when I had questions or concerns about the class. 10 online quizzes, only 6 count (60% of your grade) and the other 40% is the final, which isn't easy.
Rely on the book a lot because his lectures are pretty confusing. The tests for each chapter are even more confusing so just read.
so boring and didnt know anything, easy class
Knight is extremely enthusiastic about his class making going to lecture worth it. His slides are helpful and he cares a lot about his students and does not assign much work at all. You spend less than 20 min a week doing an online quiz and study one day for the exam which is entirely quiz questions and you are set. My favorite professor so far.
Such a nice man and a good professor. There are no exams throughout the semester, only 10 online quizzes of which he counts 6. Attendance is not mandatory to do well. Final exam is cumulative but if you prepare, it was straightforward.
Knight's a cool dude. The material is actually interesting which is rare for a freshman yearintro course. Attendance isn't mandatory so less than half of the class shows up, but that is largely in part because it is a 9 am lecture. On final day he said "for those of you that don't know me, i'm professor Knight!" Gotta love the sense of humor.
Dr Knight is a great guy and I really liked him. The class is actually kind of interesting, but its on UD capture and its at 9:05 and there is no attendance so only about half the class shows up. Gives 10 online quizzes and drops 4 of them and they aren't very hard, but other than that there are pretty much no assignments other than the final.
Great guy. Passionate about the subject, very approachable for help. Grading is based 60% on online quizzes and 40% on the final exam- the final exam is primarily repeated quiz and study guide questions. Very strict on the grading policy- finished with a 94 and he refused to round me up to an A so make sure you do your best on all quizzes!
60% is online tests and the other 40% is the final. He gave 11 online tests and the highest 6 counted. Try very very hard on the online tests. The first few are the easiest aka the best opportunity to get some 1010s. Final was easy, review the quiz questions (7-8 were on it) but mostly look at his powerpoints. Never went to class, waste of time
Ehhh. So-so professor. 60 percent is online tests and the other 40 percent is from the final, like others have mentioned. Not extremely hard but you will have to study to get the A.
Quizzes are online and midterm is 20 questions, pretty easy, review the slides for it. I love him, he's hilarious!
hes a good guy but his class is so easy to cheat in because of the online quizzes. i never went to class but watched lectures online and took notes. i took the quizzes alone and earned an honest A-. the material is relatively basic but what he asks on the final is more in depth than what he goes over. if youre interested, you will do well.
Dr. Knight is the sweetest guy ever. Participation doesn't matter and he uses UD capture, so you don't have to go to class, but I feel bad skipping. There's an online quiz just about every week but they are pretty easy. The only exam he gives is a final exam and you get to choose which grading method you want to use. I would recommend.
He's a little odd, but a great guy. Always welcomes questions and stays after class to help you. I went to most of his lectures just to listen, never took notes. Everything is online. It's an interesting topic if you're into that kind of stuff. Totally reccomend.
Professor Knight has a very strict grading policy where you take 10 quizzes for 60% of your grade and your final worth 40% of your grade. He also does it where if your final grade is higher than your quiz grade he'll just count that. However, the final for this class was so absurdly hard, I had a 90 quiz average and ended with a C+. Don't take.
Super easy class that you can pass even without ever going. If you ever need help, Knight can meet anytime. Super easy A if you take the quizzes and know anything about the basics of exercise.
6 Online quizzes make up 60 points of final average (easy 60 points). Final exam makes up other 40 points. This means even if you finish with a 60 on the final end up finishing with a B in the class. Funny guy. Real stud muffin. No attendance, he doesn't give af if u show up, the final is just hard if you've never been to a class (as it should be)
Dr. Knight is a very cool guy. Some people think his lectures are boring but if you're actually interested in the major, it's super interesting. All quizzes are online. Final was fair, but go to lecture, go to lecture, go to lecture. He's funny and a good guy!!! Attendance doesn't count for anything, but in the end it'll help you do well and learn.
He teaches from scientific papers, he likes when people as questions and participate in class
Terrible lecturer, I often felt as if he had no idea what he was talking about. The class was so boring and he takes incredibly long to give feedback and grades. I would never take a class with him again.
He's actually the nicest person you'll ever meet. really sympathetic, very relaxed, and made the class really doable. He went out of his way to make sure you don't have to buy a textbook. He goes above and beyond to help you as a professor, he emails out helpful articles and tips. Really awesome guy, he deserves much more credit.
Nice guy but lectures were boring. Grading policy is ridiculously harsh and unfair. Supposed to be an easy A but that ends up not being the case.
He's a great guy and honestly wants you to learn. However, when you are only given 10 quizzes, of which 6 count, and 1 final exam grading can be harsh. The quizzes are easy because you can take them unlimited amount of times, but the final was hard. Barely anybody shows up to class.
Class is very easy however final can be tough. Professor knight s very pationate about what he teaches and truly cares for his students. If you study hard for the final you will do well. I received a 98 on the final and a 98 in the class. If you get an A on the final you get an A in the class. Very easy grade just tough tests.
Probably one of my favorite teachers so far. His lectures were pretty interesting, despite the fact that most of the class doesn't show up. There's online quizzes every week (easy 100's) that count for about 60% of your grade. The only other grade that I can remember was the final exam, which is pretty hard if you don't put time in to study for it.
Knight was fine but he only gives 10 online quizzes a final and a midterm. He likes to go off on random tangents during lecture which is honestly annoying and not helpful. He also ignores your emails even if you follow up several times. "too busy doing research"
I honestly was not a fan. I hated lectures because it was not interesting and his lectures are all over the place and he talks about random and off topic things and his lectures are not clear at all. the online quizzes are an easy. he made our class have a midterm (when he usually doesnt) and it was kinda hard because i dont understand his lectures
Pretty easy class. Attendance isn't mandatory and all the slides are online + course capture. Online quizzes are helpful & can take them multiple times. The midterm & final are a bit challenging as it's not straight memorization. He curved the final grades 3 points which helped a lot. I only went to class once a week for the most part and got an A.
He means well and tries his hardest for his students. However, the quizzes that are based off his lectures that he gives throughout the semester do not hint or pertain to his exams. His exams are so specific that it's hard to get the question right. During lectures, he often goes off topic and isn't too sure how to word things; he does try though.
Dr. Knight is the best professor, he really cares about his students and will always make time to talk to you. He is easy on workload and really understanding if you ever come to him with a problem. He is truly an amazing teacher and is very dedicated to helping you learn and pass while enjoying what you are learning.
Sweetest professor ive had so far, he really cares about his students health and wellness. His exams are open note but very concept based not just definitions. Definitely read the articles he gives and watch the lectures and you will do fine.
Prof Knight is by far the kindest and most caring professor I had this semester. The content of the course itself can be somewhat hard to grasp, but it has nothing to do with Chris. He is my angel and I would end my life for him
Dr Knight is so kind and caring however his exams are ROUGH. Most of his assignments dont even give hints or point towards exam questions. Lots of lectures and he goes on tangents. He is incredibly caring but its not an easy A.
This is a good professor. All assignments are open note except the final. It is easy to get an A in this class if you do the asynchronous learning material.
I recommend if you take this class to take it with a different professor. This man is nice, however his tests are unreasonable and he does not relate his lectures to the notes that he posts.
He is very nice but teaches off of scientific papers which are very hard to understand. Most of his test questions are based off graphs and interpretations of the papers which makes it very difficult. He goes off topic during lectures.
When I had Professor Knight I was a freshman meaning that I could barely get through lecture notes never the less the many scientific articles we were given. He kinda expected us to have previous knowledge on the subjects in the class even though it was an Intro class. He doesn't give partial points on quizzes when you have a muti-answer question.
He really doesn't teach during lectures, he just goes on tangents about running and biking. 90% of the lectures I went to were a waste of time, but the class was easy to pass. He is really open to student feedback and usually if you have a valid reason for a test question being unfair, he will give credit for it. You can tell he really cares.
This class was a lot more content-heavy than expected. Majority of the learning was done outside of class, where Knight would post online lectures that you would have to watch on your own. You don't need to attend every class to do well in it because his lectures aren't very substantial; but his exams are much harder than you would expect.
He's a really nice guy, but he would expect us to watch these insanely long video lectures before class, and by the time class rolled around he would just go off on tangents either about biking, running, or his research. Knowledge quizzes are an easy A, but make sure to prep for the application quizzes and the final because they are hard.
One of the most challenging classes I had this semester. The exams sometimes didn't reflect what we learned. My advice would be to stay clear of his classes.
Dr. Knight is a nice guy overall and very passionate about what he teaches which I appreciate, however the class in general was very hard to keep up with. It was fast paced and a lot of the time, the content in the lectures did not match the content in the quizzes. If you do not believe you are good at science, I would not take this course.
All the information needed for exams/quizzes were found in the homework outside of lectures. Dr Knight was super flexible working with any sort of extension needed and he makes sure his students do well because he cares about understanding the material rather than grading hard. Would definitely recommend !
Dr. Knight is a great person, he's very caring about his students and truly wants the best for them, however his class is not well organized and confusing. He assigns hour long lectures to watch before class, and then talks about irrelevant stuff in class. All exams are open note, including the final, but tests don't match anything from lecture.
Professor Knight was great with communication. His lectures were content heavy even though a lot of the work you did asynchronously. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you'll be lost when it comes time for the exams.
This class was a fever dream. About 15% of what he lectured was assessed on quizzes/exams. Thankfully, when I took this class (Fall 2021) it was open note. That being said, I had to take extensively detailed notes in order to do well. His exam questions are tricky and feel like a trap. Best of luck if you have him for Intro to Ex Sci!
His lectures are pretty disorganised, which makes it hard to do well on the tests, even if you understand the information. I went from a 98 to an 88 just from one bad test. He does tests on Wed. and goes over them on Fri., so if you have DSS accommodations be warned you might not get your test in time for the review sessions.
He's a very nice person and wants his students to do well but he isn't the best teacher. Majority of work is asynchronous. It's informative but most of it isnt on exams. Lectures sometimes feel pointless since he goes off track at times. Exams are tough and loosely related to what we learned but they're open note.
Professor Knight is a great person but he just is not the best teacher. Our class was asynchronous with many lecture videos and then our in person lectures would not really help at all, he would get sidetracked a lot in class. He's funny and if you enjoy the class, it's not too challenging.
Only messages through canvas will receive a response. His asynchronous material was overwhelming, it was always unclear of what to focus on. The scientific papers were very lengthy, but focus on interpreting the graphs. Lecture was often unrelated to exams. Exams were confusing and often had no clear answer because he had tricky wording.
Funny, respectful professor. Attendance is not mandatory and lots of homework but it is an easy A if you complete all the assignments on Canvas. Take this class if you need credits! I 100% recommended it.
he was very passionate about what he taught but would tend to go on tangents about small things. Application quizzes are difficult but they are open-note, at home and manageable. Final was same format as AQs but 60 questions in 60 minutes, making it way more difficult. Final was bad but other than that class is fine and sometimes rather interesting
Although this class is very easy, I'm not sure its worth taking. His lectures are very confusing to understand and all the work is online so you don't really need to attend. Weekly quizzes that are online.
Very nice professor, attendance isn't mandatory, all quizzes, exams, and finals are online.
Knight is an ok professor. I am in his KAAP 180 class now. After the drop/add deadline he changed the final to in person which seems to be unfair when it was stated all exams where online.
After drop/add period changed final to in-person while everything is online. I hate this man
