Chris Latty is new and he teaches Marriage & Family perspectives. He is so nice, helpful and he makes the classes really fun. You get points for group activities and there is no final. You get to watch movies and play games and there are no essay questions on the exams cuz he doesn't beleive they are fair. He's an all around sweet guy.

Latty is awesome. He keeps great communication with the class and uses blackboard. I think he's pretty hot, too. I would recommend him as a professor any day.

Latty is cool. Very very sweet and good at explaining. His tests cover things not covered in class so read the book carefully.

Dr. Latty is the most caring teacher I have ever had. He asks our opinions for tests questions and stuff so he know's what would be too hard for us or not. If you want a teacher who really strives to have his students get an A and understand all of the material, then take him. I never read the book, just the notes and I got an A on every exam.

Professor Latty is one of the best profs i've had. He'll start class by asking you to turn in a paper that none of us thought was due, then he'll tell you he's jokeing and it's due next week. He lightens the mood and always ask for your input on the class so he can make it the best he can. He gives great notes you don't really need the book.

I really like Dr. Latty. He's a nice guy and he's really considerate, but he sometimes lacks in clarity. The class assignments and group projects are easy, just attend class. His tests are a bit too difficult. Perhaps just worded a bit funny. Just study the notes and buy the book only if you feel it's REALLY important.

Dr. Latty is one of the most, if not THE most considerate prof i've had here at CMU. His assignemtns are EASY..but he makes up for it in his tests - very hard. You don't really need the book, seems like every one - no matter how they studied - got the same average results. He is very supportive, and an excellent prof!

Great prof. The majority of class time was powerpoint (lot's of writing) and videos. But the class was always very straightforward. He gives a decent study guide for all the tests. The exams aren't too difficult, but cover a lot of material.

I took this class because I needed to waste 5 credits outside the College of Business. I'm not sorry I took it. Latty is hilarious! He makes the class interesting and fun. Tests are easy if you come to class each day and get the notes. If you skip class a lot, I wouldn't take him though.

He is extremely helpful, patient, understanding, humorous and very personable. He has got the best comparative personal stories that tie into the lectures during class. It makes the class that much easier to withstand - it can get boring to withstand at times. I would highly recommend this class if you have the time to study and attend class.

This class is seriously not that bad if you can handle taking notes (this IS college people- get used to it) Dr. Latty is a nice guy and understanding if you work hard he'll notice. By the way- he doesnt like teaching this- he HAS to , he knows its boring, dont blame him!

Professor Latty is a really great professor, I'd recommend him to anybody! The exams in this class can be difficult, but as long as you make sure to study your notes and read the book you'll do fine. He's very helpful and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking questions and really encourages class participation. Not bad to look at either!

Great prof! Class was once a week and there was a quiz on the reading, but they quizzes were not too in depth. He's fun and definetly makes class interesting. Be sure to participate and do the reading and it's not too difficult. Although, his tests can be a little bit tricky.

This class was my favorite and Dr. Latty does an excellent job of teaching it. He is very funny and laid back. The tests are difficult but not unbearable. I would recommend this class to everyone. Very interesting. You will never want to skip the class even though you can.

Chris was a very fun professor and his team teaching method with Angera made the class a lot of fun! I wouldn't recommend this class if you think it's going to be a blow off because the exams are challenging, but overall I learned a lot and really enjoyed this class! Do the online quizzes and stuff because some exam questions are directly copied.

Him and Dr. Angera teach this class which is a nice balance. They both are good and very nice with high expectations. My test grades got better and even helped me for other classes. It's not like they are tricky but you just need to read and know all terms. Yes a lot of work but you earn your grade and at the end is a sense of accomplishment.

Latty is extremely nice and not to mention very hot! The class is super interesting and a joy to attend. Exam's are pretty hard, I usually averaged a C but ended up with a B+. Go to class to recieve credit for the 10 in class activities and GO TO GROUP! A lot of the learning for the exams come from the book, also go to the books website.

One of the best professors I have had. He is hilarious and makes learning the material fun. He is SO HOT. Except he talks about his wife and kids a lot which is kind of depressing..but she's a lucky lady to have him ;) He's a very good teacher, really enjoys what he does and knows how to connect with students. Dr. Latty was honestly the best professor I'e had yet. He is very funny and charming and shows interest in helping you learn about sexuality. He brings guest speakers in a few times though out the semester which is really cool! I recommended his class 100%! Because of him I switched my major. Sit in the front too, super attractive!

The class in general is very difficult. If you want to do well you HAVE TO READ THE BOOK. No joke! But Latty is very good at trying to help you learn. He's funny and cute. The class is very informative and interesting but seriously get the book and start reading. ALSO do the quizzes that's on the online site. Most of the questions are on the exams!

LOVED this class! Dr. Latty is kind and has a great sense of humor. I took this as a 3-week course in the summer, which might be difficult for those who are taking other classes/working because there was a lot of reading, but in any case, if you attend and put in some effort you?ll be fine. Really cool guy, he's funny and makes the class less awkward (some subjects are kind of taboo). Go to class and read the extremely long chapters, and do the online quizzes he takes questions right from those for the exams. There's A LOT of info in this class so don't get behind on the reading. I agree this teacher is charismatic and much more real than Angerra. Angerra comes across as professional but he is fake and thinks he is better than everyone. I wish latty would have been there more, Angerra acts nice but he is only helpful if you are super preppy. If you are non traditional cannot help but feels he looks down.

Took this class online. Book is a must, and Discussion Board posts are crucial. Overall I really enjoyed this class. Dr. Latty made everything easy to understand and outlined the class very well so it was easy to understand. Would definitely recommend.

Tests for HDF 213 are difficult, but Latty is the best professor I have had yet (as a senior). He is extremely understanding and helpful.

Dr. Latty and Dr. Angera are both amazing professors. They're humorous, caring, and give great lecture's. This class does have a small discussion group once a week which offers students a chance to talk about different ideas and perspective's. I HIGHLY recommend this class to everyone!

I took hdf214 with Latty online and it was a pretty average class. It was broken down into one assignment, discussion boards (which were really interesting), and a couple of exams. If you put in the work and do the reading then it is definitely an easy A class.

He team teaches with Dr. Angera, and he is definitely the less likable of the two, but he is still a good professor. His lectures are always interesting.

His lectures are interesting and he keeps you engaged with his humor. He is hilarious and makes you want to come to class. The only bad thing I have to say is the exams are difficult, study both lecture notes and the book to the smallest detail.

Dr. Latty cares for his students and the material he teaches. He is a reasonable man, but clearly states at the beginning of the semester that this course is not an easy A. This class takes work, but the work is worth it. Nothing is ridiculously hard, you just have to be willing to actually sit down and do the work. The readings are important.

You can get by just skimming "The Family Crucible", but definitely read the textbook because exams are about 50/50 lecture and readings. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he does random in class activities for points. Easy grader on papers and journals.

Dr. Latty is so chill. This class was really easy. There are a lot of papers (a journal each week and an outline), and then a big portfolio at the end with 4 or 5 additional papers. If you just skim the readings he posts online you will be fine for class discussions and quizzes. He is really accessible and the set up of the class is very unique.

His study guides are vague, but if you know the content, you'll pass his exams. 100 points come from discussion group - go for easy points and good conversation. The class in general is VERY interesting & I would definitely recommend it to anyone within the majors/minors or not. I really enjoyed how Prof Latty taught. We used guided notes & he would lecture on real life instances & personal stories. There are only a few outside assignments, besides the reading. It's nice because the class was front loaded.

Latty is an awesome professor who will never put you to sleep during lectures. He keeps the class pretty maintainable by having the larger assignments in the beginning and only the final to worry about towards the end. Overall great guy, had him for 213 as well and loved that class too. Definitely recommend him to all students trying to choose!

It was a great online class, and honestly I did not think the material was too difficult. What IS difficult is the amount of work you will have to do. I am a hard working student, I generally get A's and I ended the class with a B- and I did more work for the 8 week online course than I have ever done for another class. Awesome prof tho.

While attendance isn't mandatory he will have in class activities that count for a good chunk of your grade so it's best to show up. Latty is a kind soul and tries so hard to get students to participate SO CUT THE MAN SOME SLACK AND PARTICIPATE. The topic's in the class are super interesting and would recommend this class to anyone.

Latty is an amazing individual and makes lectures interesting and fun. The assignments in this class are very easy and not too time consuming. But, Latty does not give study guides for exams and his exams are very tricky/hard. This class is only a 211 level and should provide a study guide because im doing worse in here than in my 431 level class.

I picked my minor because of Dr. Latty. He is one of the best professors I've had here at CMU. The way he involves his own family in what we are learning really makes it for me because I would not be in the class if I don't love families. Exams based on book more than lecture but I didn't use my book. Taking good notes and asking questions helps.

Super cool professor, make the topic comfortable to talk about. You really have to read to pass this class, but he is upfront about that when you come in. Lectures are based of the assumption that you read the required chapters. Provides guided notes for lectures. Not homework heavy, a few papers for small group meetings.

While attendance isn't mandatory, he does in-class activities randomly throughout the semester that you can't make up. They're only five points so if you miss one its not a big deal. Latty and Jeff co-teach this class and they are my favorite professors here at CMU. The content of this class is so interesting and I always enjoyed going to class!

Very good professor. He is very enthusiastic about the subject and makes lectures interesting. His exams are on the harder side but as long as you go to class and do the readings, you should pass. Make sure you go to each class because the activities we do in class add up, so you can get points for that.

Latty is one of my all time favorite professors. He is a very on the go man who never stops moving while he is talking, and I have never been to a class where he hasn't made everyone laugh. The biggest thing you need to be prepared for is reading the book. All of his exams have textbook material on them that are hard to answer if you didn't read.

Professor Latty is an amazing lecturer. He keeps it engaging, even while teaching HyFlex. He uses a lot of outside material, but you NEED to read the textbook to pass. The majority of exams come from the textbook, most of the material not being covered in class.

Great professor but Study for the tests!! Homework and quizzes were easy, however, if you do not learn the material front to back you will lose a few points. He is a great educator and makes the class less awkward even though it is odd material at some points.

Latty is a great professor and very helpful to students. My mistake was not studying for exams. Your whole grade is 4 exams. They are very detailed and his lectures don't cover everything on them. Take detailed notes on the textbook and study study study! Used lock down browser for his exams too.

Watch out for his exams. the book is not very helpful, take great note of almost everything he says in class. Group discussions were always super fun

Chris is an amazing professor that teaches a really interesting subject. He makes a lot of jokes and is great. He gives a ton of extra credit for this class and exams are easy. The textbook is needed. The only participation you will have to do is that part of the class is discussion based. So you will have to show up for the discussions.

Latty was hilarious and made the content for this class interesting. He's fully aware of how awkward some of the material is and makes jokes about it which makes it much more comfortable. You do have to read a lot and his exams are pretty hard but would wholeheartedly recommend.

Prof Latty is very understanding and reasonable. When it comes to work there is a book that is required to read and there are small assignments to go along with that. The lectures can be a little heavy sometimes but Latty always lets you know ahead of time. There are 2 papers that are easy and interesting. Overall, great class and professor!

I took HDF213, Intro to Human Sexuality with Dr. Latty simply out of interest in the course. Dr. Latty is an amazing prof! He makes sure the students understand the material and keeps the course work interesting.

Latty is amazing and funny. Attendance is not technically required, but he gives unexpected in-class activities throughout the semester. They aren't worth many points, but they add up. Tests are a majority of the points. You MUST read the textbook and take notes to do well. I'm usually an A student and finished with a B.

TAKE THE IN-PERSON. DONT take the online version like a lame person. These topics are very taboo and latty just jumps right in and teaches you everything from STDs, puberty, and orientation. Latty is very ADHD but suprisingly super organized and shows up to teach. Chugs his espressos mid-lecture and says a lot of hilarious and out-of-pocket stuff.

Class was easy if you watched the lectures and read the textbooks. Discussions were also easy as long as you put some actual thought and reason behind your post. Exams could be tricky - but there are extra credit quizzes available which helps out.

This guy was amazing. He kept everything real and is very understanding of his students. He provides a very safe space for people to voice their opinion. While the textbook is required I did fine without it. All tests are online with a lockdown browser.

This was an 8-week online course which is probably why it felt so homework heavy because we were expected to complete the same amount of work as the 16-week course. Overall, I had a great experience with Professor Latty. He was easy to access and left great feedback on your assignments.

His lectures are always very engaging and the exams are simple and straight forward. He's hilarious and overall a great, caring guy. Take this class if you can!

This professor was my favorite in the semester I had him, he was hilarious in lectures, homework was easy, and the atmosphere in the classroom was encouraging and safe. My only gripe with him is that the exams have a webcam for the whole time, making it a little more nerve-wracking. Other than that, though, no complaints!

Latty was a really great teacher for this subject. My class was quiet so make sure you pick a good table for when you have group discussions. His exams are easy as long as you study for them and attend the lecture.

Prof. Latty is great with this online course. He offers extra credit before every exam and has been curving the exam grades. There is only one paper and it's super easy. Pay attention to discussion board dates so you don't get silly points marked off. Reading the textbook is necessary to pass the exams because you use Respondus Lockdown Browser.

Professor Latty is a great instructor who gives clear and helpful feedback on assignments. While there is a good amount of work, it's not overly difficult, just time consuming, especially the case studies in this QR class. That said, the workload is manageable if you stay on top of it. Overall, I enjoyed the class and learned a lot.

Latty was a great professor. He's so funny while also being professional. Discussion groups are weekly and were my favorite part about the class. The workload isn't a lot, it's definitely manageable. Textbook reading is required, but it's not very lengthy.
