I took him for lab and at first wasn't sure if I liked his style of teaching. However after a while I realized he's very helpful and definitely does not make you feel stupid for asking questions! He's very smart and a good lab director. A little difficult on grading lab reports though; he's quite specific.

Couldn't stand the class. All he does is stutter so it's near impossible to focus on what he is saying between the um's and so's. Went to see him during office hours and he ended up confusing me even more!! Clearly has favorites so if you are on the good list you will probably like the class...otherwise avoid him at all costs!

Everything in lecture is sugar coated and easy, but when the exam comes it is so hard! Half the test he hasn't even taught! He expects you to know it! If you miss one multiple choice it knocks your grade down an entire letter grade! Completly Ridiculous! He is really nice, but a bad teacher!

I thought bc I didn't do well in chem 115 c+ that I would do bad in this. He is amazing and cares much about success he has no problem answering any question. Not everyday is mandatory which was a major plus!!! Wednesdays we went over a review and questions and Thursday we took a mini quiz. His test reviews prepares you so well!

Really nice professor; he makes sure you understand the material and will explain it more if needed. Attendance is taken once a week. weekly quizzes, somewhat of an easy grader, as long as you attend class, you should be fine.

He is so funny, he also is someone you can actually understand. One of the best professors at GVSU, if you get the opportunity, TAKE HIM!!

Amazing professor! He does everything in his power to help you succeed. The way his course is set up, he gives plenty of practice and hands on time with the material. He also grade fairly, so if you get something wrong that effects more problems, he will grade based off of your answers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I loved him. He's so nice, but the reverse classroom is not helpful because you are only graded off the paper he hands out on Tuesday, which is your quiz material. Gives you points for attempting a problem even if you don't get it right and is always able to help you when needed.

An outstanding professor. His lectures are engaging, and challenging, pushing students to think critically. He is always fair and supportive. While he can seem intimidating initially, he is incredibly approachable and patiently breaks down complex concepts into simple explanations without ever being condescending. I can't recommend him enough!

Professor Lawrence is one of my favorite professors at GVSU. He is very thorough with his explanations, explains things very clearly and actively encourages students to participate and ask questions (which he does a great job of answering.) He gets back to emails relatively quickly and grades fairly. You cannot fail with him, TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Use a flipped classroom, watch online videos at home, quizzes and worksheets in class. Class is required as apart of the grade. Online quizzes for videos are super easy. Professor is a really easy grader even if you do the problem wrong you still get credit. Classes are super boring. Easy to reach. Overall amazing professor.

Would not have passed pchem without him. Lectures are all in person, nothing online so attendance matters. Relatively kind grader. Also very helpful during office hours!

I had Prof Lawrence a year ago and still think about how good his class was which is why I'm writing this review. You will learn so much from his class even if you don't care about chemistry you will gain a lot by taking a course from him. It was a privilege to be able to take a class with Professor Lawrence.
