Dr. Lee is probably one of the best professors I have had. He is a tough teacher but everyone can get through it you just have to be committed. I recommend him to anyone planning on taking Biol 111. He is truly amazing.
I did not enjoy this class whatsoever. Lee was very vague about what he expected from his students and it was nearly impossible to pass.
Dr. Lee is the best teacher i've ever had. He is very tough and makes you work for an A but you will learn a lot and he is more then willing to help you. Wonderful, if you need bio and want an amazing professor but don't mind working for it pick Lee!
Suited to teach different learning types, genuinely cares about his students grasping the material, he went the extra mile to give us links the resources like YouTube videos and other online materials, organized and user friendly course e campus page, study material all in one place. lighthearted nature, engaging lectures
This guy will marry you off with the textbook because OML his lectures are intense. But even with his in depth explanations he will still test you over small details in the book. He's funny and has character, really wants you to understand more than get good grades... So whichever matters more to you. Online quizzes with infinite tries for bonus
If you actually want to learn biology, take Dr. Lee. His class is tough and he really makes you work for your grade. I went to every class and took notes thoroughly and he gives "possible" test questions in class and usually about 5 of them are on the test (he says to separate A from B students). He's hilarious and makes lectures fun - take him!
Dr. Lee was really hard. He says a lot of things in class that do not pertain to biology at all and it is very confusing. He spends too much time talking about the lab instead of lecture and that was really annoying. I feel like he purposely made this class hard out of his own enjoyment. DO NOT TAKE HIM. I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE HIM.
I was nervous coming into my 1st semester of college, but Lee was great at making the transition easy. Show up to class. He often gives bonus opportunities and gives questions that could possibly show up on the exams (& they usually do). You have to read the textbook cause he uses some info from it. The class requires effort, but an A is possible.
I had Chris Lee for Biol 112 and I loved it. He kept it interesting considering it was an 8am. Went to class everyday and a plus tutoring for tests and ended up with a B in the class. Test aren't to terrible, just study. Make sure you read the directions!!! The second test was the hardest for me.
Dr. Lee is an awesome professor. Going to class and actually paying attention helps so much. Just make sure you study your notes and read over the textbook chapters and you should have no problem getting a good grade (as long as you put in the effort). He tries to help out his students as much as he can. I would definitely recommend taking him.
Very clear on his expectations, the lectures are interesting and the exams are fair. Great professor if you actually want to learn things, he is not an easy A. By the way the lab is really challenging.
The best bio prof for 112 and its not even close, he is very straight forward and does not try to trick his students. Your grade will reflect your effort.
Dr. Lee's lectures were always hilarious and told you most everything you needed to know for the test. You do have to read the chapters from the book. He always hinted at what specific questions would be on the test and he provided a lot of practice questions for studying. It is a difficult class, but it is supposed to be and he makes it fun!
Clear about his expectations for you in this class. He is happy to help if you want it. He gives bonus opportunities and take advantage of them. Reading the textbook is major if you want to understand what he talks about and extra tutoring is a great idea. Lab is so much worse than lecture and may be the only reason it is difficult.
If you can, take Professor Lee. His lectures are always fun even at 8 a.m and he will tell you what material will be on the exam. Reading the text book before lecture is very helpful because that is what he lectures and has his notes over. Take advantage of a lot of his extra credit points, max 5 or 6 points! Practice questions are great to study.
Dr. Lee was a great professor. At first it was a little confusing to discern what to study and what to take down during his lecture. However he does post powerpoints (not the full so go to class) and he does offer exam questions and extra credit in class. Overall take him if you have the chance. He's super helpful and willing to talk to you.
Took Prof. Lee in the summer. Great Prof., easy to talk to and ask questions in class. Good information, however, online slides are only shell slides, so key information is present in lectures. Reading is a must, and lectures are definitely helpful. He also give random bonus extra credit in class. Labs are difficult, but mostly about memorization.
Lee is an alright professor. He will basically just go over a powerpoint that is pulled directly from the book (so read your book!), and make some comments about the text. It's hard to figure out what to study, and he's not very specific. He does offer a lot of office hours, study sessions, and small bits of extra credit.
Lee was a great professor that made bio112 really fun and interesting. His tests may be harder than Johnson's but he teaches all the information really well which helps in lab and in the future. Read the book well and go to his lectures because he'll often emphasize what specifics are on the exam and sometimes gives extra credit for those present
One of the best to take for BIOL 112. He breaks it down super easy and he gives you heads up on what to expect for lab that week. Likes to hide extra credit in the tests and also gives you scavenger hunts around CSTAT for 5 pts on an exam. Read the book for supplemental info, but other than that all the test material comes from his lectures.
Dr. Lee taught a very difficult course and made it a lot easier and more fun. He helps out with lab immensely which is probably the hardest part of the course. He gives plenty of hints about what will be on the test and lab exams. He holds review sessions for both lab and lecture where he will give more direct comments about the test. Great prof.
I would 100% recommend taking Lee! BIOL 112 is typically a very hard course and he makes it possible to do well. Attend lectures because he gives away makes test questions and adds good notes to his powerpoints. Also.... EXTRA CREDIT!!! Attend class and do all of the extra credit he offers because it will pay off! Lab is the hardest part.
Dr. Lee is a great professor and genuinely wants you to learn. Tests are based from his lecture. The hardest part about the class is the lab, which depends on your TA and there is only one lab practical now, which makes it really hard to remember a semester's worth of information for an exam that is application based.
Lee is an amazing prof. Truly cares about biology and his students. His tests weren't terrible but you have to study really hard for them because they can be a little detailed. READ the BOOK. the only hard part about his class was the lab. It definitely depends on what ta you have because the quizzes can be SOOO hard. The labs themselves were easy.
Dr. Lee likes to give a redundant speech before EVERY lecture about how hard the class is and how much work we are going to have do, which is kind of annoying and a waste of time. Lee is a decent prof in the fact that he really wants you to learn, but lecture is basically him glossing over the topics and telling you what is important to know.
The tests were too heavily weighted and the lab final was insane. He's a hillarious prof and very motivating, but his tests were just ridiculous. I got a C, but I would take him again because I learned quite a bit. His SIs were helpful. Review sessions not so much.
Lee is the king of dad jokes, which I used to love before taking his class, but after hearing the same jokes, and same stories every. single. lecture. (not exaggerating at all) you start to hate dad jokes. Hes not a bad choice for a teacher, but it can be a little hard to motivate yourself to want to go to class when he starts to get annoying.
Exams are not that hard because he would give you hint about what kind of questions he would asked, so it is important to pay attention to lecture.
Dr. Lee was not the professor for me. His exams are extremely hard. I feel like I did not learn from his lectures. He will lecture you more on life and how he feels you should do something instead of the actual material. Attendance is not mandatory but he does offer LC. He is not as accommodating as other professors. I took it in the off semester.
Dr. Lee tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests. He is very specific about what he is going to test you on and if you pay attention and take notes on what he says, you will do great. I averaged a 96 on tests without ever opening up the book. He's also entertaining and he cares about the students learning.
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor. He made an extremely difficult class pretty interesting and tied so many practical things into it, which made it worth it. Go to his lectures to get bonus points. His exams are tough, but they are doable if you go to class and read the textbook. Do well on exams because the lab destroys most people's grades.
I loved Dr. Lee. Yes his tests could be difficult, but if you go to class and study its not bad at all. He offers a lot of bonus especially for the final. He made this course really interesting! But the Lab final sucks.
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor and is super funny! He takes the time to answer any and all questions students have in and outside of class. The lecture and lab require A LOT of memorization but they're not impossible as long as you're ready to work for it. I enjoyed and learned a lot in this class, highly recommend him.
This class requires a lot of work, especially with lab. That being said, Lee understands the class is hard and offers weekly reviews for lab and lecture. He really wants students to succeed. Attending lectures is very important as he tells you a lot of specific topics that will be on the exam. Exams are tough but totally doable if you work hard!
I didn't think class helped much for the exams. Get the A-Plus reviews and you'll be fine. He's cool, but he says the same jokes and quotes over, and over, and over again. Take advantage of every extra credit opportunity.
The lecture portion of BIO112 wasn't too terrible but the lab felt impossible. I went to A plus tutoring & don't think I would have passed if I didn't. There is ALOT of material covered & A plus helped so so much. I ended with a B in the class but you definitely have to work for it. Aufderheide also teaches this class and he was supposedly easier.
In my top 3 profs at TAMU. Excellent lecturer, really cares, interesting material. One of my top classes at TAMU too. He is touted as the most difficult BIO112 prof, but I just payed attention in class and made a review from the chapters and got As. He gives out E.C. too but you have to work for it. Dr. Lee made me love bio again (bio major)
Lee is a great guy but kinda rambles in lectures. He tells you what material will be covered on the test and is clear on that but the test is kinda abstract application. Pretty difficult, one of the only Bs I got at A&M. The lab blows and you will have to spend a lot of time studying for it.
Dr Lee is great. Super fun and goes on many tangents that are very interesting. The class is very hard but there is alot of opportunities for extra credit. Lectures cover everything that is needed to do good on the tests.
This class is meant to test you. The lab is difficult, as is the class. Dr. Lee is a good professor, but my learning style didn't work with his teaching style. He doesn't move around much, he turns off the lights during lecture, and he has a very deep, monotonous voice. However, he did prepare us for what would be on exams and the lab final.
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor passionate about what he teaches. Test are not easy but they are possible. Attendance isnt really counted, only learning catalytics for extra points, but it is strongly recommended to go to lecture since he mentions what will be on the test and trust me, you will see it on the test.
Lee has a lot of pros: offers tons of extra credit through LC and attendance on some days, tells you what will be on the exam, and gives tips for lab. The lab felt impossible with the class average on quizzes being about 40. He is very monotone and goes off on the same tangent every class, which will make you really unmotivated to wake up at 8am.
The lectures can get boring, but make sure to star everything he says will be on the exam because they will be on the exam. There are learning catalytic, but only 11 were offered the whole semester. There were also bonus questions on exams 1-3. The lab is the real grade killer with most people failing all quizzes and the lab practical.
The lecture and lab is ridiculously hard. Asked him questions about a homework and he couldn't "dumb it down" for us. He is just so smart that its hard for students to understand the way he explains things. I wish he did a better job teaching and not going tangents every single time.
Worst professor. Take him if planning on going to graduate school. Exams are pretty heavy and lab practical is a beast. Good luck.
Lee is absolutely my favorite professor at A&M. He is hilarious and genuinely cares about his students! He offers TONS of extra credit (about 8 pts on every exam) and if you go to class and his reviews, an A is definitely doable. Lab is rough, but that has nothing to do with Lee. You WILL have to work for your grade, but Lee makes it possible.
Makes you work for your grade. Lab is ridiculously difficult too.
To whoever that said" Lab is rough, but that has nothing to do with Lee" he/she is wrong. Lee makes the practicals and pretty much puts what he likes and throws some curveballs. If you take him, study every single for at least 3-4 hours.
This man is hilarious! Make sure to attend class and review your notes after class. Skimming the chapters ahead of time or making sure that you keep up with the reading will help so much! I made a C in the class because I wouldn't give 100% but one test I did read the chapters and looked at old exams and I got an A.
I loved most lectures, but mixed opinions on them. Always go to test and lecture reviews held by him, he will hint at you what will be on the exams so study that! Use old exams as study guides! He honestly cares about his student and is always open to help and have a good conversation with! Does a lot of extra credit and there will be no curve!
Awesome
I am definitely not a fan. He was sooo hard. And he's so smart that he can sometimes talk down to you. His lectures are like endless mansplaining.. I was literally 6 points from a B and he did not give a flip. Go to the reviews he does and you will know more specifically what's on the test.
One of the best lecturerers ive ever had but his tests are rough. Lab is the hardest thing ive ever done in my life. Do well in class to make up for the terrible lab grades
Absolutely horrible. Worst class of College so far. Do not learn anything in there. Lee has a phD in educational psychology and acts like a know it all whom we should all worship for his wealth of knowledge, yet he somehow fails to share that wealth of knowledge with the class. MAYBE gain about 30 seconds of info from the 1 hour 15 minute lecture
One of my favorite professors at A&M. It is a hard class, especially because of lab, but Lee gives you a lot of hints as to what will be on his tests, and he writes the lab practical so he can give you hints about that too. I really enjoyed his lectures, and he's really funny. Without a doubt I learned so much in this class.
Dr. Lee gets a bad rap on here from people who look to blame him for THEIR failure to adapt to his teaching style. He's a great guy, possibly the most "normal" prof at A&M; he is also very generous with bonus questions on tests. His lectures are engaging and funny, and he wants you to learn "because you might be giving me a triple bypass someday!"
Dr. Lee is a very relatable guy and his exams are easy if you know the material and go to his reviews. He tells you 75% of what's on the exam before you even see it, and he gives helpful hints for lab. With the extra credit, I will make a 100 in this class. Lee is a solid choice!
He's ok I guess. He makes jokes that aren't funny and repeats the same 5 phrases constantly, and he's also super mansplain-y. I almost fell asleep every class. He's not the best at presenting material in a learning way rather than in a "know this for the test" way. Overall he's not the best but he could be worse.
Dr. Lee is an excellent professor. Yes, he expects a lot out of his students, but I thought his exams were very reasonable. He really cares about his students, and he will give you clues during lecture as to what will be on his exams. You do have to put in the work for this class, but the trick to doing well in this class: work hard on lab quiz!
He expects you to know a lot of material, but the exams were not too bad. He always went the full 75 min which was annoying and he went pretty fast during lecture. Lab is hard, make sure to do well on the quizzes to make up for practical . Attendance not mandatory but he does offer up to 30 extra credit points with LC at the end of random lectures
Show up to class, he says a few things that will be multiple choice questions in class that you wont find in the powerpoints. Michaela SI has review sessions which are insane. Show up to Lee review sessions on sundays because he goes over test questions and good recap for lab- lab is dummy hard but organize to study good before final. Extra Credit!
Dr. Lee definitely makes you work for your grade. The subject itself is very difficult, but attending lectures is essential. He tends to repeat things multiple times which are guaranteed questions. A+ tutoring was extremely helpful with this course. I rewrote the notes in a more organized manner then Lee gave them which helped a lot.
He has high expectations because he genuinely cares about his students' futures. I recommend going to his office hours, whether you need the help or not he's a great guy. Save your money and skip the tutoring services, just put in the time by going to class, going to his Sunday reviews, and going to Michaela's SI! All were very helpful for me!
I took this course over the summer and he always took the whole hour and thirty-five minutes (plus a couple more). Lectures are crazy boring but you have to attend. Not a great professor but not awful either. He says he doesn't care about your grade but he does care about getting you to vet/med school. He is kind of condescending and not funny.
He doesn't give any curves or extra credit even though he is the most difficult prof. I managed to get an A in this class, but it was definitely a big struggle. His lectures are not helpful because he is all over the place and he knows it too! The lab was killer, so you have to do well on the tests. Definitely avoid taking him! Attend SI if you do.
Do not take!
Some people think his jokes are funny, but listening to him was very difficult. He would preface things with "you don't need to know this but...." and then talk about it for a very long time. I would highly recommend taking the other professor if at all possible because I have heard the way she teaches is more straight forward.
Do not recommend this proff. Going to class is good for extra credit, but he just talks on tangents the entire time. He also says "this is gonna be a test question" all the time and whatever he says is rarely a test question. His tests are also really tricky and because of that test less on knowledge and on your ability to catch his tricks.
He really cares about your education and success so try office hours. Make notes on slides bc the man kinda goes fast but he makes sure to repeat anything important. He's good at communicating with SI leaders so their worksheets are always useful. tests aren't bad, but he likes his Roman numerals. Just work hard, he's here to help u learn.
Dr. Lee is great. I really enjoyed his class and felt like I learned a lot. The way to get an A in this class is to go to SI. I din't attend any paid tutoring but was at every SI. Michaela has been with Dr. Lee for years and knows pretty much everything he will ask. Also 30 points of extra credit LC added to your grade if you show up to lecture!
Dr. Lee may not be everyones cup of tea, but I think he's awesome! This Prof does everything he can to prepare you for the MCAT. He does talk around from subject to subject, but I believe it's due to the amount of material; he really wants you to learn. Show up for class, go to SI, get those easy extra 30PTS from LC, study, and you should succeed!
Dr. Lee was an amazing professor. He provided review sessions before every test where he would clearly state what would be on the test and answer any questions people had. His tests were pretty difficult but overall, i recommend him to anyone!
Dr. Lee really cares about his students! He will also be very realistic and tell you that his class requires work which is true. 112 covers a lot of difficult material but as long as you take notes and go to his reviews, he lets you know exactly what you should focus on for tests. Lab can be hard but thats not new information for sciences at A&M!
Skipped class 75% of the time. Most of what he says in lectures and what is on the test is on the powerpoint anyway. Do some LCs, study the powerpoints, and maybe show up to a review session and you will get an A. Dude is hilarious tho.
Dr. Lee's BIOL 112 class was definitely a class that you had to work hard in. I highly recommend recording his lectures and focusing on the things that he says is important! He is also a very nice guy when you email him about issues.
Best prof I've ever had! Lots of memorization, but he repeats important things during lectures that will be on the exam. I learned everything during lecture & reviewed the ppts a few days before the exam & did really well. He's rlly funny & wants his students to learn as much as possible. He relates lecture content to health care professions. KING
Dr. Lee is amazing! He is one of the only professors that actually keeps his promise to keep the tests focused on what is discussed in class. If you pay attention and study then you'll be fine. Not to mention his 30 LC points and random bonus points will boost to to an easy A. People who did bad have no right to blame Dr. Lee for their own downfall
Dr. Lee cares about his students and wants them to be successful. He gives amazing lectures and holds his own review sessions where he goes over whats on the test and allows student to ask him questions directly. I would highly recommend this professor if you want to learn and be successful in future classes.
Chris Lee was hands down the best prof I've had at A&M. He is super funny and keeps lectures interesting. Tests are super easy if you take notes from the powerpoints and make sure you listen to what he says in class. He'll tell you stuff that is on the test and helps you in lab since he is the head of it. He makes bio fun and lab was easy.
I LOVE THIS MAN. Truly one of the best profs Ive had during my 3 years here. Hes SUCH a great lecturer and he really tries to make it easy on you. Hell give plenty of hints as to whats on the test. The MATERIAL itself is hard but Dr Lee is not. He wants you to succeed. Tests are straight forward. No need to read the book. Go to class for LC.
He's a good guy. But oh my gosh he has so many metaphors and phrases. When you enroll in this class you are enrolling in "Uncle Chris's Mystery Hour" (his words, not mine), and you are the athletes and he is a coach and test days are game days. He will remind you that he is not a life coach, but will then say "i make suggestions u make decisions"
One of the best profs I have had at Texas a&m. Very funny, keeps you engaged, he cares about you and makes you feel like you are on a team with him and everyone else .Encourages you to keep the hard work, very motivating. HE MAKES SURE THAT STUFF STICKS TO YOUR BRAIN by repetition, you will know a lot of his sayings by the time the exam comes aroud
Funny guy, interesting lectures, and really cares about students goals. Can be a little repetitive but he really wants you to understand the material. I took the 5 week course and it was a grind- about 7 hours a day for a high A (including lab), but I would assume a normal semester isnt quite as bad.
HILARIOUS. This guy will have you cracking up and somehow you are learning the material still! Awesome prof and has so many catch phrases. Accessible outside of class and really good responding to emails. If I could take him for every class at tamu I would. He makes suggestions but you make decisions. Don't blame him for your bad grade!!
Dr. Lee was a very good prof for Biol 112. He was very easy to reach outside of class and always gave very good feedback to my questions. He will always emphasize what will be on the tests, so definitely go to class. He can seem intimidating at first, but he is very nice and does a great job at explaining the topics you do and do not need to know!
If you can, TAKE Dr. Lee!! Dr. Lee's teaching is AMAZING, I never lost intrest in lecture. As long as you attend class, take notes, and study hard you will be fine. This class is one you have to work in; DO NOT get behind studying the PowerPoints. Most content learned in 112 is new, but Dr. Lee takes the time to make sure you understand.
I loved Dr. Lee. He was an amazing prof because he always made sure to emphazise what he thought would be important test material. He also held review sessions before each test. If you want to do well in his class attend lectures because he says WAYY more information then what is on the powerpoints.
I took his class twice, since I got a C the first time. This class is difficult because of the AMOUNT of material, not really the material itself. If you fall behind it will be difficult to catch up (especially during the 2nd exam material) if you're not self-disciplined you will have a hard time (I did both times) but get help from him. Good luck
Dr. Lee is great, his class is super engaging and he has a great lecture personality. Key to his class is to attend lecture and thoroughly understand the concepts he discusses, because that is what shows up on tests. Easy A if you listen in class and take notes, he also holds extensive reviews before exams!!
He's funny. But if you're a linear learner, BEWARE. He teaches in circles with very little order! SI's saved me, but his class was a lot of fun and I learned a bunch! Take him only if you are ready to teach yourself and learn a new teaching style.
I really enjoyed having Dr. Lee as my professor for biology. He's always cracking jokes and trying to keep students engaged. He's repetitive some days, but that just makes the topics easier to remember. His tests are a bit difficult, but if you take good notes and study, you'll be just fine.
Took this class durning COVID, Dr. Lee loves to take about random things durning lectures. He repeats the same stuff over and over again. His tests are very specific so study everything on the slides. His SI was amazing, please use that. Lab was kinda weird, no in person lab so the assignments were hard to complete without actually doing the lab.
Dr. Lee is a great prof for 107 he gives a ton of extra credit. Lecture portion has no homework, just three exams and a final exam. He really cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed.
I took Dr. Lee for Zoology because I needed a bio credit to take another class and he made it a lot easier for me than I expected. For a 100 level course he makes it sound harder than it is but tests are easier than you think and he's super helpful/accommodating. Also offers multiple extra credit opportunities.
Would recommend Professor Lee to anyone needing to take Biology 107! He cares a lot about his teaching and his students. His class is lecture heavy, but if you attend the S.I. sessions and pay attention in class you will retain the information and do well. Best professor I've had here at TAMU!
Class was made harder than necessary. I wish I would've taken Adams cause then maybe the test won't feel like it's trying to trick me. He uses vastly over complicated terms to explain simple concepts. Bad professor in my overall opinion. LC points are for all of Bio 112 but those are nice.
Dr. Lee is a great professor! He makes a lot of jokes and keeps lectures engaging. I found it most helpful to write notes on everything he says and then sort through them later. He hints at what will be on the test, so pay close attention. I didn't use my textbook at all except for my lab report. He offers a lot of extra credit.
Overall Prof. Lee is a great guy. Kinda funny! He tries to tell lost of jokes. He knows his stuff for sure. Lectures are long and cover a lot of information. Prepare to take lots of notes. Pay attention in class! Several lab quizzes that are fairly easy, 2 lab practicals, lab report, then 3 lecture exam and a final. Does offer lots of extra credit.
Dr. Lee was an amazing professor who really cares about the subject he's teaching. The tests are tough, but if you put the work into studying and go to the SI, you should be okay. GO TO THE SI!!! Dr. Lee tends to repeat things a lot, but he repeats them for a reason!
I was kind of skeptical about Dr. Lee when the semester started but I learned to love him as the semester went on. Definitely make sure to go to class and write down everything he says, especially if they're not on the slides. He's really clear about what he expects from you, so you can only blame yourself if you catch yourself slipping.
Although Bio 112 is designed to be a hard course, Dr. Lee is a great professor and probably your best choice for this course. He is funny and gives a good amount of extra credit opportunities. The tests are hard, youll have to really study and take active notes in class because Dr. Lee tries to include almost all the information from lectures.
Best professor I have ever had!!! He gives so much extra credit and exams aren't bad if you attend class. He makes class enjoyable and easy to pay attention. He is also hilarious. Lab isn't too bad and doesn't count for much of your grade. If you have any chance to take him I recommend it 100%!!
I loved Dr. Lee, I took him my first semester and I was so scared going in. However, he tells you exactly what you need to know for the exams and offers ALOT of extra credit. I really dont know how people dont do good in his class. He truly wants his students to do good and gives you all the tools to do so. TAKE HIM x1000000 it was a breeze!!!
Sigh. I do not know how i got a B in this class. Besides being funny, I do not think he is a good prof. He requires a lot more knowledge on the exams than you need, and almost makes the exams impossible. He tries to make them "like the MCAT" but it is unnecessary. Poor communication from his end, never answered emails.
Dr. Lee is a great guy and an even better professor. Do not go into this class expecting an easy A. He not only prepares you for his exams but for tests that you'll likely take in the future (MCAT, etc.). There are many opportunities for extra credit but be prepared for every test. SI really helped in organizing what will be on the next test.
Other than poor communication, (he never answers emails) He is a really good prof. He seems intimidating at first but he truly cares about his students. Lots of extra credit chances and he prepares you well for exams.
Dr. Lee is probably the best all around professor you will have in the STEM world. He keeps things engaging and funny but holds you to a high standard. You'll learn a lot but it's not like other classes where you dread attending lectures. He's got a great sense of humor and is very passionate about the subject. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Lee.
He is very very good. He will highlight what he wants to test you on. Labs work well with lecture. He is a very good teacher. He is a good team player, he wants everyone to succeed. He also does extra credit.
I took Dr. Lee my first semester at TAMU and ended up making an A in this class. I wouldnt say it was easy but as long as you put a couple hours of studying into the tests, youll do well. SI sessions are your best friend I promise, I would not have passed without them!!! He does go super fast in lecture so pay attention and take notes.
He is really nice. Goes fast in lectures. HARD CLASS. Get ready to rewatch lectures. He always acts like his tests are easy, but they are notttt. If you want a good grade in this class, get ready to WORK.
LOVED HIM ! Great teacher!!! Made me want to take this class all over again! BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! He was funny and he was VERY clear about what was going to be on the test. Do yourself a favor TAKE HIM!!!
Great prof at least for 107. Tests are the entirety of lecture grades and the lab part isnt very hard. Come to class to answer bonus questions for extra points!!!
Dr. Lee is outstanding at his job, truly. He engages with students respectfully and holds his classes to a higher standard while being INCREDIBLY fair with workload and exams. He is not playing against you! This class is lecture-based, so attendance and good note-taking are vital. There are also a multitude of GREAT extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Lee is so good! He challenges you, but there is really no work outside of going to class and studying for exams. His goal is to prepare you for A&P. Great guy and he makes you feel important
If you suck at science, take Dr. Lee. Gives a lot of info, but is so funny and uses lots of real-life examples. Makes super clear exactly what will be on the test. He goes over important topics multiple times in multiple different formats so that it sticks in your brain. Offers lots of extra credit. Favorite/most doable STEM class ever. Take him!!
Dr. Lee is incredibly caring and it's obvious he genuinely cares about his students and their success. That being said, he does make you work for your success. "Pressure is a privilege" is one of his many sayings. While the course material is extensive and studying is necessary to do well, he does offer up to 30 extra points through LC.
Bio is always heavy on memorization, but Dr. Lee turned that around and made its main goal be understanding. You cannot have a better biology professor than Dr. Lee, seriously just take his course. He cares about his students, and pushes you well to succeed. If you want to excel, communicate with other classmates and schedule weekly reviews.
One of the best professors I have had in 2 years. Going to class, you will get all info, he does reviews in which he goes over main exam topics. SI sessions are very helpful. All exams are the same amount of rigor. Lab is not bad (Depends on TA), the most tedious assignment was making a phylogeny tree. Pressure is a privilege - Dr. Lee
Lee is the best science professor you could ask for. Funny, genuine, and easy to keep up with. You MUST pay attention during lecture, just reviewing the slides is not enough. Exams are very lecture specific rather than slide specific. 1 problem set a week, 1 lab a week, 2 lab exams, 3 lecture exams, 1 final, and occasional bonus points on top of LC
Dr. Lee was one of the best professors I've had. He is very engaging during lecture and good at explaining topics. He gives plenty of opportunities for bonus points and holds review sessions before tests. Listen carefully during lecture because he will often times give you hints about what will be on his tests. He truly cares about his students.
Honestly one of my favorite classes of my semester. Biology can be tough. Yes we've all known that. However, Dr. Lee has a special way of making things click together. There's going to be a lot of phylogenetics to remember so be prepared. FYI: If he says something multiple times; write it DOWN! Overall big great funny guy.
Dr. Lee is a great professor. If you attend classes and review session before the exams you will be fine. I did not really pay attention that much so that is why I got a C but if you pay attention you can easily pull a high B or A.
BIOL 112 for Spring Semester. Prof Lee will really push you to succeed. Make sure to listen to the examples he explains during class as they will be on the exam. Review the notes. Attend the SI and review sessions to be successful on exams. The TAs lead the labs. There is lots of extra credit. Do the work assigned to be successful in this course!
Dr Lee is an awesome professor!!! Bio 112 is definitely a hard class but he makes it easy to understand some of the hardest topics. Lab is not that bad, but harder than 111. Most of the exam questions come from class discussions so you must go to class!! He makes you work but is super funny, super kind, amazing guy and professor. Take his class!!!
One of my favorite professors at A&M! You really have to study in this class, but the material is not difficult and Dr. Lee makes his grading and testing expectations so clear. He is a very funny guy and his lectures are engaging. SI sessions were also super helpful for reviewing and understanding the material. Take his class!!
I took him over summer and it was the best decision I could have made. Great guy and the SIs really helped. He repeats the stuff he's going to put on the exam so many times it's hard to forget. Pretty easy exams. Very straightforward expectations and what you need to know for exams. TAKE HIM!!!! Made biol112 a lot easier then it would have been.
He'll go on tangents but when it comes to the actual material, he goes through it too fast. He thinks he's a cool funny guy but I wish he'd just stick to the material. His 1st class was just him scaring freshmen into thinking college is so hard by saying that all profs will be as tough as him. Lots of Extra Credit but you have to pay extra for it.
IMPORTANT - Go to exam review zoom sessions!!! Hell tell you what youre gonna see on the exam. Gives extra credit. I recommend recording his lectures because theyre very fast paced. He makes the exams seem harder than they actually are so dont stress and attend his reviews and youll be fine.
An amazing professor! His lectures are interesting to listen to. He is understanding, but also stern. Tough love has a new meaning. He will tell you exactly what is on the exam- so its a good idea to keep a "question bank".
Take him! The best. If you go to class and take notes easy to get an A. Just put in effort. Very nice and funny guy. Worth taking!!!
Hands down my favorite prof. His class was a lot of work and I put in a lot of time studying but it was very doable. Made an A and never thought it was possible. His lectures were interesting and not boring he does go fast but tells you what to focus on. Great prof 100%
Listen hes a good guy but not the best professor. Yes hes funny but honestly he makes things way harder than they should be. If you dont study you wont pass and its very hard to obtain an A. Take someone else if you can but if youre study with you, then good luck. Hell make you work for your grade.
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor. He is extremely knowledgeable but also relatable and personable. He cares a lot about his students success and also provides many opportunities to attend SI session, etc. Take Dr. Lee if you have the opportunity!! Class is fun and you will learn a lot!! Also, I am a non science major and still enjoyed this course.
Worst professor ever. He makes jokes that are not funny and will make you feel stupid if you ask questions. His lectures are so boring and his PowerPoints are filled with stuff you don't need. He has a huge ego and will talk down to you all the time. He is also very unorganized, things are never posted on time. Take anyone else for this class.
Professor Lee is very knowledgeable in Biology & is quite the jokester. PAY ATTENTION IN LECTURE! He will emphasize & say if what he's talking about will be on the exam, keep note of these. Overall, not too hard if you put in the work, show up to lecture, & actually pay attention. To do well learn how he teaches & know how to take good notes.
By far one of the best professors I've ever had here. He's hilarious and very respectable. If you go to class, listen, and take good notes, you'll know exactly what's gonna be on the test. This class was a lot of work but GO TO LECTURE and you'll be fine!! Dr. Lee definitely cares about his students as well, never once heard him talk someone down.
Obviously Biology isnt the easiest subject, but Dr. Lee makes it way more enjoyable. He is without a doubt the funniest professor Ive ever had. He gives lots of extra credit and his labs are easy if you get a good TA. He tells you a lot of the questions that will be on the test which is super beneficial. Im gonna miss not having him.
Dr. Lee is the most influential prof I've had. I'm a nursing major and if he could teach all my stem classes I would be so happy. Attendance isn't mandatory, but tests are lecture-based and if you don't go to class you probably won't pass. He relates what we learn to pathology, physiology, pharmacology, etc. which really prepares you for future.
Best professor I have ever had! I was in his 107 class. His lectures are so interesting, he is so funny and easy to listen and learn from. He genuinely cares about his students and wants you to do well. Offers so much extra credit and tells you a lot of questions that will for sure be on the test. Take him if u can!!
Dr Lee is a solid choice for a Bio prof and you can tell he really knows what he teaches. Bio 112 is SO MUCH MEMORIZATION, but if you go to lecture he tells you the important information and what he is going to test over. Bio lectures are long and boring, but he made them interesting and gave extra credit. Put in the work and you'll get an A.
Dr. Lee is a well rounded prof for Biology. If you really work hard and participate in class, you should be just fine. However, be aware that his exams are VERY LECTURE HEAVY, so be prepared to take notes and join a study group! He's a great person and he truly cares for all of his students' futures. I learned a lot in his class! Good luck:)
His zoology class is surprisingly lacking in any actual zoology, and instead just seems to be Biology but with a new coat of paint. Always talks about how he's preparing you for the medical world. Repeats himself a lot and makes bad jokes. But he does offer quite a bit of easy extra credit, although you have to pay for the software.
Chris cares a lot about what he teaches. He can seem a bit rude at times but if you can get past that he is a great professor. He says over and over again in class what is going to be on the exams. Four exams, the final is cumulative, all are multiple choice. If you don't attend most lectures and take notes, you will not pass.
BIOL-112 is so useless in my opinion since it's just zoology. But Lee was a good prof! Tests are very lecture-heavy. You need to stay on top of content, or it will get super overwhelming. He seems like he cares about his students. Extra credit is helpful, but this class is going to be extremely difficult if you don't enjoy zoology. Good luck!
Dr. Lee has been my favorite professor so far at A&M. He is very funny, cares about his students, and teaches actual important information instead of shoving useless curriculum down your throat. Attendance is not mandatory. He tells you exactly what will be on the test if you go to lecture. Tons of extra credit. 3 exams 1 final & lab. No HW.
Tons of extra credit that will literally bump you up a whole letter grade BUT you have to attend class to get the points. Exams are very lecture heavy and he will tell you in class what you need to know. He is very funny and makes lecture bearable. Class is very zoology like and heavy on memorization. It is very hard, but doable!!
Don't attend A+ for this one. Save your $200 and form a study group instead. All this course is based around is memorization and connections, and Dr. Lee is amazing in guiding you through them all! Best professor I've ever had!
when i say this class is mandatory i dont mean u rly have to pay attention more u need to be there for the extra credit because it is SO nice. biol 112 is a lot of memorization but he makes it fun just memorize everything a few days before tests and ur pretty much good. if u pay attention in class he lowkey tells u questions that will be on it.
Dr. Lee is average. Yes he's a fun person, but he makes the class harder than it should be, especially compared to other profs. He's not that easy to reach outside through email either. He is a great resource for premed students. If you take him, start studying early, as most of the content is very bland and pure memorization
He is a great professor. Lectures are exactly what is going to be on the test. Extra credit for each of the 3 exams. Pay attention in class and take notes and you will do great on the tests; he is also very understanding.
Made it very clear during lectures what we were going to be tested over. Had to show up in order to receive extra credit (he gives out a ridiculous amount!). Take him if you can keep up during lectures since he can go fast at times.
Dr. Lee was an amazing professor and made 112 at 8am bearable since he was funny. All of the exams were basically just memorization over literally everything you learned from lecture. Also, he was basically preparing everyone for the MCAT. Overall, great professor but would only recommend if you are planning on going to med school.
Not worth the 8 AM! Do not take him unless u wanna do med school!
i took Lee for bio II. The class itself is a foreign language class that requires a lot of work. Do not expect this class to be the same easiness that 111 was, or you'll be in for a rude awakening. Dr. Lee rules though. His lectures are entertaining, and informative. I would take him again and recommend to all.
Dr. Lee was a nice guy but his lectures were really hard to follow. He teaches the class like an MCAT prep, which hurts everyone in other majors. He is funny at times, but I think it should be dialed back a little bit.
Dr. Lees lectures are entertaining considering the subject matter. He is pretty funny and definitely tries to lighten the mood. Although the lectures aren't technically mandatory, he does give LC's (similar to clickers) which contribute to your final grade. Labs are mandatory! The tests are lecture heavy and mc, and labs tests were all written.
Great professor who never failed to make the class laugh! Four exams total with the final one being accumulative. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does have random LC's at the end of class. Also really take notes during lecture because he tells you what's going to be tested! They're not bad, but they require you to study.
Was a great & funny professor, but his lectures and slides were quite unorganized. Things didn't flow to well together and the class is a lot of memorization. Great entertainment for an 8am, and has random extra credit questions during some lectures, so try not to skip! In all, good professor that teaches a LOT of material, so be ready!
Lee is one of the best lecturers I know, the 8 am sucked, but your attention was always held by his lecture style. Tests definitely are hard, but he gives a lot of hints in his lectures that something will be on the test. Labs help a lot with the content.
Dr. Lee is honestly an amazing professor and person. He is hilarious and really cares for his students. The exams are all memorization, so you can achieve an A if you go to class and study at least a few days before the exam . He does tell you what's on the exam and gives extra credit at random in class, so do yourself a favor and GO TO CLASS.
Dr. Lee is such a great professor who really cares about his students and Texas A&M in general! Class is mainly based off of lecture exams which can be tough, but if you can get your hands on past exams that helps so much! Study a bunch the week before exam and you'll be fine! He also gives extra credit questions in class that are random which help
His rating is way too high. Please do not take him unless u go to graduate school
Dr. Lee is one of the most enjoyable professors I have had up to date. I would highly recommend him for BIO 111 and BIO 112 as he gives you the answers for his exams during lecture repeatedly. TAKE HIM.
Please read all of the reviews before taking him. He is a very difficult professor compared to the other profs. Only take him if you want to go to med school!
This class is difficult and prof lee is ridiculously unorganized! Only take him if you are interested in med school cuz he got good experience with it
Solid prof but def not worth the 8 am. He is funny at times but I feel like he should be more organized with his materials.
nice guy but not very organized. always talks about irrelevant things during lectures which I also strongly disliked. luckily, my lab ta was nice and brought my grade up. NOT WORTH THE 8AM!
He doesn't give any curves or extra credit even though he is the most difficult prof. His lectures are not helpful because he is all over the place! The lab was killer, so you have to do well on the tests. Definitely avoid taking him unless you are interested in medical school! Attend SI if you do.
I mildly enjoyed his class. He was funny at times during his lectures but he just isn't the most organized... Luckily, my girlfriend who took prof lee before had some great notes which helped me. Definately avoid prof lee unless you are planning to go to med school. if you are, take him! He has some remarkable resources.
To be honest, I actually liked professor lee until the very end of the semester. However, during the end of semester, we were a little behind since prof lee got sick and we had a few chapters left. Instead of removing those chapters from the exam, he made us watch a recorded the weekend before finals! My respect for him dropped after that.
Prof lee is a nice guy but his lectures are impossible to follow. Wished he would just stick to teaching and stop telling jokes and talking about random things. His jokes were kinda funny but this is a college lecture not a comedy show.
Nice guy but makes the class unnecessarily hard which is fine if you are looking to go into med school but I just figured I should warn everyone on here to let them know that he is not for everyone. I had a hard time in his class.
Nice guy but very unorganized. takimg him at 8 am was a mistake
Hard to keep up with his lectures
He is an amazing professor although his class is lecture heavy, he is an amazing listener and will sit down and chat with you. You do have to pay attention to understand his material but he goes over it multiple times and explains it well. He even gives you answers to his tests throughout lecture to help prepare you for what may be on his exam.
Read the other low reviews, they are accurate. One of the worst things is his lack of communication. Often ghosted me on emails and did not show up to meetings I scheduled, and emailed me back a few days later after I went to his office in the flood. His lectures are off topic, and way too fast. He is a good resource, but not a good professor.
Go to class, pay attention, and you will notice he tells you many things that are going to be on the test. Honestly, if you go to class this should be an easy A. Just go to class and note down everytime he mentions something is going to be on the test
Chris lee is giggling to himself all class. He loves this stuff
Not much to say. This class should be an easy A if you go to lectures and pay attention. I've heard people say they can't and even saw people fall asleep in class but if you just pay attention you will do fine. Lab was a lot harder than lecture.
Dr. Lee is one of the best profs I've had at A&M. He's a valuable resource that you should use, especially if you're premed. His lecture style is conversational, so it might be hard to get used to, but he'll explicitly tell you what will be on the exam. He's kinda funny too, if you like dad humor.
SUMMER CLASS: This class is very lecture heavy and the test have A LOT of roman numeral questions so that was a challenge. The class went very fast as we went through about 50-70 slides a day and it was hard to pay attention in class as he goes off topic a lot. But if you pay attention in class class, you can make an A in the class.
This was one of the best profs that i have ever had. TAKE HIMMMMMM!
Extremely funny (bio dad jokes). Difficult exams but lectures, his slides, and him repeating the same stuff every day should do the trick. Very generous on extra credit (read the test instructions). Knowledgeable about the MCAT (so befriend him, premed students). Don't recommend cramming but it's doable. Let nights and weekends go your way!
Such a great professor!! His lectures were engaging, and he clearly outlines the topics that will be on the test. You definitely have to study, but he offers a good amount of extra credit, and I thought it was pretty easy to get an A!
He is an amazing professor. Engaging lectures, great teaching methods, and tests are not hard if you put in the work. Labs can be iffy depending on your TA. He is also very funny and has lots of pride in his teaching. He wants you to succeed, with lots of extra credit. IF YOU HAVE THE EGGS YOU HAVE THE POWER.
Great person. Has an acquired sense of humor. Tests are reused every semester but he makes his own questions. Lab is super easy but lab exams suck. Just go to lecture to get the points!!! His one flaw is that his powerpoints are so long and extra and he truly does sound like a broken record. Gives super good advice and is rooting for us
Lee is a great professor. If you plan to go into medicine, he links alot of the class to it. Exams are content heavy. Pay attention in lecture because he points out key points for exams. Check for details in PowerPoints for exams. Would take his class again.
Easy A class partially due to the professor. Took this as a 5-week summer class. Links content to human and veterinary medicine and likes to include humor. Very effective and entertaining lecturer who will go out of his way for exam reviews and office hours.
Great prof. Def take him again. Tells you exactly which topics that are on the exam. Went out of his way to have test review zooms on a Sunday. Very available and encourages you to see him. Gave a lot of extra credit. Cares about his students well-being and he's very funny. Attendance isn't mandatory, but need to go to watch powerpoint lectures.
I loved prof. Lee! He is very passionate about his students and subject matter. He tells you what will be on the exams during lectures and provides a lot of extra credit. He is so funny and keeps lectures interesting! As long as you study what he emphasizes in class you will be set! 10/10!!!
Prof Lee teaches and structures his class as if everyone in the class is preparing to be a doctor which has upsides and downsides. Best advice would be go to class, he's going to point out specific things in lecture and will usually tell you exactly what material to expect on the test.
I thought this class was going to be way harder than it was. It is a lot of memorization rather than understanding concepts. Lecture wasn't mandatory, but I highly suggest going. Most questions on exams come from lecture, not just the slides. Also recommend attending his review sessions before exams, they don't take long at all.
Lee is an amazing professor but I took it at around 2:00 so I found it hard to focus. He is very generous with extra credit and gives hints at future questions on exams if you attend lecture. He is also very big on detail so MAKE SURE TO READ INSTRUCTIONS!
I had Dr. Lee over the summer for biology 112, and I really enjoyed it. I thought I would struggle, however, Dr. Lee made the class interesting and was clear about what was expected from his students. I definitely recommend Dr. Lee for your future classes, he truly gets and cares for his students.
Dr. Lee was an amazing prof for my first semester at A&M! He loves talking about sports and gets off topic easy but that's what made his lectures interesting. He goes through lecture pretty fast but as long as you show up to class, you'll receive extra credit. He holds review sessions before every exam and says exactly what will be on the exam.
Dr. Lee is a very reasonable professor. He gives a ton of extra credit opportunities, make sure to be at class on the days right before break! He makes sure to emphasize and repeat several times the things that will be on the test. Make sure to study, but the class is overall pretty easy.
Do not take him if you want to spend a majority of the time figuring out what you need to know. Lectures and slides are extremely unorganized!!! He is focused on pre-med students and goes too much into depth. Lectures are boring but there is an occasional extra credit question.
Prof. Lee is a good lecturer and is helpful when trying to understand the material, especially if you are pre-med. It's easy to make a passing grade in this class, however, it's not easy to make an A in this class. The way he formats his exams aren't clear and don't always include the material he tells you to study. I wouldn't take him again.
Dr. Lee is by far my favorite professor I've had at A&M. He genuinely cares about us learning the material and lectures are amazing. He is hilarious and ties the course material into his jokes sometimes which makes things so much easier. Also tells you what to focus studying on. Sometimes gets off track a little but it's never detrimental.
Dr. Lee is AWESOME literally the best professor I've ever had. He cares so deeply about our success and is so helpful with explaining tough concepts. Genuinely look forward to attending his lectures, he's hilarious! In the lecture part of 319, there's 3 tests and a cumulative final that are straightforward. The only hard part of this class is lab.
Dr. Lee is by far my favorite professor I've had so far. He makes class so fun and entertaining (really necessary for an 8 am lecture!) while really making sure you know the material. He gives a lot of review opportunities for exams and makes sure you really know what to expect. He's so passionate teaching and his students!
AMAZING!! Lectures are vital to the tests, though, so only take if you can make it to every class. Lee really cares and enjoys teaching and offers advice for med/ dental school. The material was difficult at times and there was A LOT of memorization required, but getting an A is defiantly double. Lots of extra credit too!
Dr. Lee is a very funny guy, he makes the 8 am bearable. He tells you exactly what you need to know and focuses a lot on prepping for grad school pre-reqs. I am excited to have him in 319 next semester.
Dr. Lee has been one of my favorite professors at TAMU. Granted, I didn't enjoy BIOL112 that much, and I also didn't enjoy his hour and 15-minute lectures at 8 a.m., but I always showed up because it is so clear that Dr. Lee cares about his students and wants us to succeed. Outlines key information before exams and always has clear expectations.
Dr. Lee was my favorite professor this semester. He's very engaging and explains everything in ways that I remembered. Several of his test questions are direct quotes from class, so go to class for those easy questions. His tests are hard, no doubt, but after the 2nd exam you know what's coming, and what to expect. Would absolutely take him again.
I love Dr.Lee, he's an amazing professor who really cares about his students. He is aware how difficult the class is, and pushes students to "redefine the word busy" and this mindset really helped me. His stories helped me recall concepts, but some can find this distracting. He definitely keeps you engaged. Extra credit is possible in lecture.
Hilarious professor. His class was significantly harder than the other professors, however, he gave us the tools to succeed in his class. Difficult exams but extra credit. His final was very difficult and a little unfair, however if you attended every lecture the amount of bonus points made it to where you should have not needed to score well.
Dr. Lee is a great professor!!! He repeats the topics he puts on the exams over and over, so it's very hard to be surprised when you open your exam. He also gives a ton of extra credit to the people that show up to his lecture. You will have to memorize a lot and his slides can be unorganized, but it's very easy to do well in his class.
If you are planning on being involved in the medical field in any way TAKE DR. LEE! Genuinely the best professor Ive had, he really cares about each of his students & makes the material palatable & entertaining. Tons of extra credit & he repeats himself purposefully for hints on exam questions (don't skip lectures) & gives credit back on exams q's.
Dr. Lee was a great professor and went straight to the point in lecture, because he taught very well and kept you engaged. I learned a lot in this course and did well on exams, getting As and Bs. Only the lab portion brought my average down, but it's easy as long as you study.
I took Bio 112 in the summer and it was brutal but he made the course as tolerable as possible. He cares a bunch about his students, offers a bunch of extra credit, and problem sets are easy 100s. He gets off topic every 5 seconds in class so it can be hard to focus, but he covers what is needed for the exam (for the most part). 10/10 recommend.
One of the best professors I've had at A&M! He is very accessible outside of class and holds many reviews (especially leading up to the exams). I also like how he organizes the course. The slides he goes through in class have everything you need to know. He's really funny too!
I loved Dr. Lee! His lectures were great, although he got sidetracked some, he made sure to clearly state what he wants you to know. He hosted weekly review sessions, and extra before tests and is very accessible outside of class. During class he provided extra credit so you are encouraged to go-I never missed one just because I liked being there.
I love Dr. Lee! I never struggled on anything lecture-related, only in lab which is out of his hands. He gives exam reviews and points out what will be on the exams during lectures. He is very funny and offers one extra credit opportunity before each exam. I would take him again if I could!
Dr. Lee cares for his students and wants everyone to do well in his class. His lectures are straightforward and he tells you what you need to remember for the test. He gives a few different extra credit opportunities and reviews material every class to make sure we all get the information we need. Warning, the lab is difficult.
He makes lectures fun and his test reviews are exactly like the real thing. Lab is where your going to have to put in the work, so he tried to make lecture manageable. Get the lab manual as early as possible and begin memorizing EVERYTHING. Lab will be where you have to focus your time. I wish I could take Lee for every class.
Dr. Lee is amazing! I wish he could teach all of my classes bc he really does care about you doing well. Understand the test reviews he gives out and you'll be fine. Lab is the worst part bc it's all memorization, so put the most effort into that and you should be just fine
Dr. Lee is one of my favorite profs, he is funny and makes A&P understandable. Go to class because he will throw in obscure facts that will be tested on, and does extra credit randomly. Lab is the one that you have worry about, but Dr. Lee will not let you be anything less than great.
A&M is so lucky to have Dr. Lee. He loves his lectures, A&M, is more than willin
Great professor. Gives every avenue to be able to thrive in this class. He cares so deeply for his students, pushes/encourages them, and constantly reassures students. He gives study guides and extra credit for lecture exams. Apply yourself to the class and it's easy. Only reason the class is difficult is bc of lab but thats not his fault
Lab sucks! Need to get as many points as possible in lecture and lab! Lab is 50% and Lecture is 50% of overall grade. Lee doesn't want you to fail but you need to do your part! Lee lecture exams have no surprises. Lee is awesome tho!!!
TAKE HIM. He is knowledgeable and if you go to class and utilize the lab office hours you will be successful. The lab office hours are barely mentioned, but you had endless time to go through models, ask TA's questions, and practice on all the material. The lab is the hard. Focus in from the start because the lab quizzes are cumulative.
A great professor to learn A&P from. He truly wants you to succeed and going to his all lectures is the best way to do well on his tests
BIOL 319 is a hard class, but Dr. Lee made taking the course a lot more enjoyable. The lecture exams a pretty easy so long as you come to class and study the material. He repeats important topics that will be on the test, and makes the lecture portion of the class interesting without being stressful.
Attend lecture if you want an A. The course is brutal as is but he is kind, provides ample opportunity, and if you attend lecture and listen what he says, you will know the answers for the test. He tests like he speaks, therefor if you dont attend you're sabotaging yourself. Best A&P I prof by far.
I had him for BIOL112, and loved him. During that class he always talked about his 319 kiddos, and I said when I get to that point where I'm ready for 319, I'm taking him. I would take him for all my classes if I could. His lectures feel like he's having a conversation with you, rather than speaking at you. The only bad thing is lab, it's notorious
Dr. Lee is awesome!!!!! His lectures are funny and engaging, and exams are not difficult. Lab is difficult but doable and is NOT controlled by Dr. Lee. Attendance isn't mandatory but it definitely helps and he gives extra credit randomly.
One of the best if not the best professor I have had at Texas A&M. He cares for his students so much and his lecture are good and keeps the class engaged. His tests are simple as long as you take good notes and fill out his review sheet. Love the dude and love his motivational talks. Man can motivate me to stare at a wall.
GOAT. Lee is definitely the best option for 319. Lectures are very engaging and interesting. He makes the content relevant and he clearly outlines what he wants you to know. If you go to class, take good notes lecture should be great!! Lab is another story.. it is hard, but very doable, so be sure to be on top of lab assignments sooner than later.
Lab will be the only issue of you take Lee. Lecture exams are easy and similar to the prior exams. I would go to lecture bc he will bring up his stories on the exam. Do well on lecture exams bc lab will be brutal. He gives out extra credit on random days and u can tell he cares a lot. Read his exams thoroughly! 319 is only bearable through Lee.
Dude isn't THAT bad, I got an A, You're likely to pass his class with an A with a 50% chance, you will not fail with a D unless you don't do anything at all. But the issue is he's hilarious, too hilarious... he goes extremely off-script sometimes and just yaps about the most irrelevant stuff, like brother, I'm just tryna pass the class.
LOVED Dr. Lee. Favorite prof at A&M. Lab was ROUGH, but you'll do well if you make time to go to the help desk 1-2 times a week. Study AOIs asap. He's absolutely hilarious in lecture, and you can tell he wants his students to succeed in his class. Gives 5pts extra credit the week of each exam. Don't take unless you are good at memorization.
It is a privilege to take his class. Anyone saying he is a less than 5/5 professor is lying.
He is very caring, but tests are hard and talk to him after class if confused on the work!
I took Dr. Lee for 319 in the spring semester and he was seriously one of the best professors I ever had. Super caring & understanding if life threw a curveball. He rambles a little bit, but he will make sure you know what to expect on the test. He also adds some silly questions on the exams to help you out in lecture bc lab is literally brutal lol
Go to class take notes. It may seem like ramblings, but upon review the topic he is trying to get across is there. His test questions are pulled from his lectures and his slides do not make sense without them. He cares, a lot, take him and work hard, you will set yourself up for success. Lab is hard, but it just highlights bad study habits.
Write down EVERYTHING he says, the pp slides are basically useless without what he says. Lab isn't NEARLY as bad as it was before, but im able to study 8 hours MINIMUM a week for it. Memorization and repititon is key-study all labs over and over DONT wait until the week of lab practical. DO LECTURE EXAM REVIEW THROUGHLY bc it helps. Lots of EC
Great guy, even better prof. He wants to ensure the students' success first and foremost. Pay attention, GO TO CLASS, and re-write all the red/highlighted text b/c THAT IS THE EXAM. Provides great resources and does everything in his power to ensure our success and grade. Take him. It's the best decision you'll make.
Doctor Lee is a joke! He has a saying "my greatest ability is availability" however, this dude is hardly available. If your looking for an easy A take him. Micky mouse exam questions, spends the firs 10 min of every lecture rambling about unimportant and unrelated topics. Avoids answering any question you ask by telling you an unrelated story. 1/10
Dr. Lee is my favorite prof I've ever had. His lectures are interesting and he keeps them engaging and fun. He is very approachable and helpful if you have questions. He's also just a funny guy in general. If you can, take Lee.
Dr. Lee might just be the best professor I've had so far. He genuinely cares about the subject he teaches. He respects his students as people and as "future doctors." He understands that the lab is hard, so he gives students a break by making his tests straight forward. He also gave 30 bonus points. I would recommend him 100 times over.
Funny, cares about his students, and makes lectures enjoyable and entertaining. Go to class and listen; he tells you exactly what to know for exams. Tons of extra credit throughout the semester and exams are super easy. Take his advice and start studying AOIs immediately and use the TA help desk before the practical! He is telling you for a reason.
With most science classes at TAMU, you have to be ready to self study because the lectures suck, but not with Lee. If you did well in this class, it is because you paid close attention to his lecture and took good notes. Do not miss even one. Also, be prepared to set aside around 10 hours a week to memorize all the stuff in the upcoming lab.
Dr. Lee is an amazing lecturer. He genuinely cares about his students. His exams are easy as long as you go to his lectures and actually study. Lots of extra credit is also given. The main focus should be lab. Remember, lab is weighted 50% of the grade. Regularly go over the AOIs and do not cram before quizzes and practicums.
Lecture only had 4 exams (all easy imo). He gave out extra credit and he'd say if topics would be on exams. Funny and easy to understand. He breaks down material well and notes can be difficult to read without attending lecture. Study AOIs for lab exams!!! Lab quizzes can tank your grade. I got a C and a D on the lab exams and still got an A.
Dr. Lee is without a doubt the best professor I've had!! He is so passionate about anatomy, cares about his students and their success both in his class and in the future, and makes his lectures hilarious and entertaining. His exams are very straightforward and he makes it very clear what you need to know. Cannot say enough good things about him!!
Just take Dr. Lee! He is by far one of the best professors I've had. He really cares about his students and our successes. He also refers to us as "Doctors to Be." He gave extra credit & exams are straight from his lectures so just study those. Hard part was the lab but that is out of his control. Labs are 50% of grade so start early if possible.
Dr. Lee is fantastic professor and clearly cares a lot about his students. Be sure to go to lecture, as he emphasizes things that will show up on the exams. The exams are mostly pretty easy, although each of the four exams get progressively more difficult. The lab requires a lot studying, but it's not really that hard either.
love dr. lee so much! he is so caring and the exams in class were extremely fair and based off his lectures so go to class! lab is also a lot easier than it used to be but also dependent on your TA at the same time I would say.
Lee is the best prof I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students & provides you with the resources to be successful. DO HIS STUDY GUIDES and study them over & over until you know it forwards and backwards. Lab is difficult but take time every day to study & you will be good. Always review previous labs too, I used quizlet & did very well!
Dr. Lee is literally the best thing to happen to Texas A&M and America. He is THE best lecturer at TAMU and actually helps you to remember things. Study guides for exams are amazing. Writes rec letters and very knowledgeable on MCAT. Cares about his students. Will explain things to you 8 different ways to help you understand. TAKE HIM
GOAT. Beware: Taking Lee will spoil you. He tells you exactly what's on the exams (hints at questions AND ANSWERS) and gives FREE EXTRA CREDIT. ATTEND LECTURE!!! You can spend 1hr/week on lecture and still make an A. Note: he tells a lot of stories in class, but it'll give you a mental break and help remember the content better.
Dr. Lee is awesome! He teaches really well but also very clearly loves the subject! He's a super caring guy and always is available outside of class. Extra Credit opportunities make the class significantly easier, as lab is kind of brutal. Dr. Lee's exams are also very easy, especially if you go to class and pay attention to exam reviews.
He is amazing! Easily my favorite professor ever. He is very funny and cares about his students. Wrote a letter of recommendation for any student that asked for it. He basically tells you exactly what will be on the exams. Gives tons of extra credit. Work hard in lab! It is not too bad if you manage your time. Overall, loved him! I recommend!!
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor. His lectures are hilarious, and he always knows how to make the class laugh! He is very kind and understanding. Go to his office hours! He will go over a concept with you if you're struggling. The class is pretty difficult, but he offers plenty of extra credit during class. Attend lecture!!
dr. lee is actually my goat! he tells lots of stories that he uses to help you understand the content better and he loves to joke around in class. the lecture exams are fairly easy if you just study. the lab on the other hand is very hard and you will have to spend a lot of time studying for each lab. theres a decent amount of extra credit though.
Funniest prof ever, helps with MCAT, really engaging, and gives extra credit. Make quizlets for lectures, and the exams will be easy. Lab was not too bad but u should memorize each chapter and STUDY AOIs EARLY. There's weekly cumulative lab quizzes, weekly lab assignments (easy), 2 lab practicals, and 1lab presentation.
Lab is a nightmare, do the study guides for lecture. Lee is awesome so don't waste it by not putting enough effort into lab.
TAKE LEE! he makes lecture easy because lab can be hard. lab is 50% of grade so if you want to focus on lab and not a hard lecture prof, take lee. he's super caring and genuinely wants everyone to succeed. at least spend an hour or two before lab reading the manual and pay attention during lab and you'll be fine for the quizzes.
Best professor I've had. He knows how to teach the material. All exams are cumulative but they are not difficult. The lecture is fun, engaging, and should really boost your grade. Do well in lecture to make up for lab, which is just memorizing an insane amount of material and looking at dead cats.
Dr. Lee is great! His lecture portion is genuinely fail proof. Go to SI! They will review almost everything you need to know for the exam!! Lab is also quite easy in my opinion
Dr. Lee is incredible. He wants you to succeed, get into med/dent school, or whatever your goal is. He is so encouraging and will help you with MCAT/DAT stuff, too. He likes being there for us. Also, he is hilarious, and his exams are easy. STUDY FOR THE LAB EXAMS (not hard but a LOT of content), and you'll absolutely be fine. Best professor ever!!
Dr. Lee is AMAZING. He is so kind, encouraging, and truly CARES about students! Easily the best prof I've ever had here. Lectures are entertaining, and he is easily accessible outside of class. Getting an A is for sure doable- I just took his course as a 5-week in the summer, so that's the only reason I made a B+. LOVE THIS MAN please take him.
Awesome prof, super funny and test weren't bad. Lab is the only hard part. Attendance is important if you want to do well on exams. Highly recommend
Dr. Lee is the GOAT! I loved his lectures! His lecture exams are pretty easy, which helps with the lab grades. I used Quizlet to study for both lecture & lab. For lab, memorize EVERYTHING in the lab manual and keep revisiting the material each week. ALSO - there are pictures available online/on Quizlet of dissected cats to help study for the lab.
Dr. Lee is great. His exams are very straight forward and are on the easier side in this class. Do not worry too much about who you take for 319, because the lecture is the easy part. The lab is so hard. It all comes down to which TA you get, and there is no way to control that. Dr. Lee really is great though. He is funny and cares a lot!
Dr. Lee was my favorite professor from my undergrad. Very accessible and willing to do whatever he can to help you on your academic journey. Memorize the lab notebook and class is very easy. Lab is what separated people from high and low overall grades.
CPL is the best professor that TAMU has to offer. I am in the class currently and I am dreading not having him as a professor next semester. Take him. He genuinely cares and he makes 8 ams much more bearable.
I dont know what to think of him honestly. He tells the class he cares about us but then he will cuss you out in office hours. His tests make no sense and 99% of the time he will make multiple mistakes on questions and (usually) gives back credit for them after the fact. He is funny, he does give extra credit but theres too many cons than pros imo
Dr. Lee is the best professor or teacher I have ever had. I also learned the most I have ever learned. His lectures are sometimes hard to follow just because he talks fast but he gives a clear study guide for lecture exams and his tests are very fair. The lab is what is extremely difficult and you must be constantly studying for.
He makes many many errors on his tests and then either refuses the acknoledge them or just wont do anything about it. If you go to the testing center he will NOT respond to you if you have issues or questions on the test, which you will.
I'm not sure what to think of him, he's really difficult to talk to in person since he just loves going off on tangents and blaming you even though he doesn't know your situation. His lectures are good, just wish it was a bit more organized, same with exams, so many mistakes on them. Overall not a bad professor, but I would take Cohn.
I honestly cannot explain how all over the place this class is. He makes so many mistakes on his exams & the questions make 0 sense. He doesn't use the textbook much, just a piece of paper with chicken scratch handwriting that will have topic processes all over the place. I personally would've taken cohn & heard good things about him from friends
By far the best anatomy professor I could have asked for. Lots of extra credit and only tests over material he explicitly went over during lecture. Very humorous and cares about your success. Lecture exams were not difficult. Hardest part is lab because it is very memorization based. Get started early with AOIs. Highly recommend taking Dr. Lee!
He is THE BEST professor I've had in my college years. He truly cares so much about each of his students and is SO funny. I genuinely enjoyed going to class! If you put in effort you will be good, its more so lab that can get you, especially depending on your TA. LEE IS THE BEST!
best prof at tamu!! only tests over what he goes over in class. the lab is difficult but it's just memorization. lab exams aren't bad and neither are the quizzes. start studying AOI's!!!
