Dr. Leone is a good teacher to take, he outlines all the information that you need to know, and always offers help outside of class. You need to read the book and study your notes, but we ARE students! He's interesting and makes jokes to keep you awake.

Dr. Leone is a great teacher, translates boring text into plain English using plenty of sarcasm along the way. His class is not for slackers though.

A LOT of info to assimilate- don't miss a day or you'll be far behind! Fair testing method, but very tricky. Keep up with both notes AND reading since reading isn't discussed in class.

Dr. Leone definately knows his stuff. He is very organized and relates the material to real world issues (past & present). There is a lot of material to learn so you can't afford to miss a class.

Had him for numerous courses. He's the best. If you study, you'll be fine. His mysterious sexy appearance is also another reason to take his class.

Incredibly difficult. Gives six comprehensive exams in one semester, including a cumulative final exam. Organized, but doesn't realize that most people who take this particular course AREN'T Psychology majors.

Dr Leone knows his stuff. I found class to be somewhat challenging. Very demanding w/his material. Keep up with reading and pay attention and you'll do fine. Very squireley, and dry sense of humor

Great teacher if you read your notes and text book in advance you will do pretty well on his test. He also gives out an outline a least a week in advance that have most of the material that will be covered on the test. He is also very helpful.

Listen up, you do NOT have to read!! Just go through and thoroughly do the study guide and study your notes. You can easily make a B. His tests are not the easiest, but I notice its because I never missed a day of class. Take advantage of Xtra credit

Good professor

Difficult teacher, but not bad if you actually come to class and put a little effort into studying. I'll make it out with a B. He gives us the study guides ~2 weeks early and its 12 points extra credit... enough to bump a test 1 letter grade. Don't have to read, USE THE STUDY GUIDE... IT WORKS!

Great Professor! Really Helpful, Clear and very structured. I appreciated his humor and his outlines, extra credit, and study guides. Yes, you have to read, come to class and pay attention...but isn't that what college is all about. You will learn...the class is very interesting.

You should take this class for eye candy. Don't assume it's better to be a low self monitor. The answer is always "it depends".

I enjoyed his class very much. The study guides do help - for whoever thinks they dont, you arent using them. You do actually have to study for his class to pass, but if you do study, youll be fine. PLus...chances for extra credit which arent as bad as some make them out to be, just requires you not to be lazy!

Recipe for A: Go to class . . take notes . . read book night before test . . . take test. Duh!

If you want to learn-he is the BEST!If you want to slack,don't take his class. Whatever your grade - you EARNED it, he didn't GIVE it! That's LESSON #1 - take personal responsibility for your study habits! He's very organized,never cancels class.You must keep up & not miss class. He's more than willing to help anyone who asks. one of the best professors i ever had-he's never boring, makes it applicable, and his outlines so easy to follow. his tests are REALLY hard if you don't study the whole study guide he gives before each test-but studying the key points on it really helps!e.c.& ur grade is either the score of 5 tests, or the final grade-whichever is better.great prof

It's easy to tell this guy has been teaching for a while and knows what he's doing. He's very organized and his lectures are very clear and he draws helpful diagrams on the board. As for his tests they can be very tricky. He gives you a study guide but don't let that make you think the test will be easy. A LOT of studying required to get a B.

This class was a lot easier than I thought it would be for an upper level class. Sure, you do have to study, but the main portion is finding all of the key points from the study guide. The tests aren't tricky, especially since most of the answer choices only have one answer pertaining to the subject tested. Extra credit a plus as well!

As long as you study, read the chapters and attend class there is no reason you should have trouble in this class. I never read the chapters, just studied the lecture notes and passed. Extra credit work was very easy to do as well and helps ALOT! Great professor, I highly recommend Dr. Leone

GREAT PROF! Tests were straight-forward and not tricky at all. Gives you an outline with a lot of material on it, but the material is NOT HARD to understand. As long as you go to class and study from the outline, you'll do fine.

He is very willing to help anyone who wants to do good, he's also a guy who loves what he is doing and believes in what he teaches.

Awesome prof! One of the best classes I have ever taken.. tests are very straight forward and he gives you a guideline before the test.

He was a very intellegent professor who expected a lot of his students, but also in return gave us all a solid foundation and understanding of the material. He offers extra credit, and the tests are hard if you do not have a study guide. There is a lot of material to cover but he does a thorough job of explaining it. very challenging!

sop 3004 and ppe 44003--Dr. Leone is a brilliant teacher, so take him if you want to be challenged. His tests are difficult, but he gives study guides in sop 3004. You don't want to miss class because a lot of info. on tests comes from lectures.

Dr. Leone is a great teacher, but his classes are not easy. You will learn a lot, but you have to study hard. He will give study guides to help you, but it's a lot of info. He gives opportunities fro extra credit, so take them!

Dr. Leone explains things very well and really helps you to understand the concepts. You must attend class as well as read the textbook. If you do that, you will do great in the class.

A great teacher with interesting presentations for his PPE and SOP classes. If you get off your ass and actually take notes, read the text, and study then you will get an A, otherwise, don't bother taking him. He is helpful and interested in his students success as evidenced by his mentoring and directed research.

He presents info in very organized manner. He does ask questions from class and book and material in class is not in book. He was very helpful outside class and actually was in office for office hours. He is very witty and funny.

Hard class, but a lot can be learned. He has mastered his field. Make sure to read the book a lot and keep up with notes. Lectures can be boring sometimes and a bit scattered. He is definately willing to help. Do the Extra credit!

The professor can be funny if repetitious. And quite elusive--he did not reply to any of my e-mails! (If you have a question, ask him in class.) Also if you miss the lecture notes get them. The exams are HARD and based on the book and notes. I studied a lot (I'm an A student) and made only C's on the exams. The tiny extra credit = my B.

Good prof.-interesting class. you will learn alot if you read the text, take good notes and actually study. My only prob. is... I know this guy has alot on his plate, but couldn't he at least make an effort to return emails & phone calls?

Dr. Leone is very clear in his study guides what is going to be on the tests, but the study guides are more like book notes and the tests cover a lot of information. Not an easy class, does require effort, but at least it's not a waste of money like some professors' classes are.

A hard class. Do the study guides as far ahead of the exam as possible; without doing these it is very hard to pass the tests. Better to have them done ahead of time and study the day before then doing them the day before the test! You don't have to read the whole book...just pull the study guide questions from it and study those.

Best UNF Psy prof. Stop complaining that he's "hard". He expects a lot. We are college students after all. He takes psychology very seriously. It is an in depth difficult subject despite what people want to believe. He is brilliant and helpful. You will gain a lot of knowledge. Highly recommend if you have a 'high need for cognition'.

I took Dr. Leone for PPE 4003 in Spring 2008 and plan on taking him for Soc. Psych. He is a great professor if you want to learn! Study your notes and the book. If you do this the class is a breeze. I gave him all 5's because this is how a college professor should teach. If the material is hard to grasp just ask him for help!

He knows what he is talking about. Lectures and tests are very structured. Go to class because half the test is about thing from lecture. He's funny in his own way. Tries to help you as much as possible!

He is the BEST professor I have had so far. Everybody says he is hard, but at a 4000 level class, it should be! Read the book, go to class and pay attention. You will learn a lot! I really like him, this is what higher education is all about.

He is a fantastic teacher and the material is extremely interesting. I rated him as hard only because you cannot expect an A without putting in the effort. Tests are 50% lecure notes and 50% from the book. Most people walk away from this class with some real knowledge retention not just a grade and four months of annoyance.

He is very clear in his lectures and lets you know what you need to do to pass. He truly cares about his students, he wants you to be interested and WANT to come to class. I'd say tests are medium-hard, you really should read the book. He grades tests almost instantly. Extremely nice guy, funny at times.

Nice guy but I wouldnt recommend him. Available and willing to help. I attended class, read the book, and did the study guides. Test questions seemed to be a differnt story. Maybe its just me but I'm an A B student and squeaked by with a C only b/c I did extra credit. He admits hes the hardest teacher in the department.

Leone is a great teacher. Attendance is not mandatory, however, your grade will reflect what you study for. Go to every class, and read the book. You will do fine! 3 exams,(or if you don't like your grade 1 optional cumulative final).He even allows extra credit. I enjoyed the challenge of his class. Professors like him make UNF a better university

His class is not an easy A. It's challenging and a lot of studying is required. However, if you are willing to put forth the effort, I can honestly say I've never before been so satisfied with a grade. I feel like I EARNED my scores and furthermore, I truly learned from Dr. Leone. I would recommend him for students with a real interest in psych.

Dr. Leone is a very bright guy and quite the introvert outside of class. He makes the class very challenging but 85+ is an A in the class so its not impossible to obtain. I'm a grad student and I can honestly say that I never had to read an entire textbook until this class. Overall...he's tough, but fair.

Dr. Leone really knows his stuff. Attendance isn't technically mandatory, but you'll want to miss as little class as possible because each exam is 50% from the book, 50% from lecture. He always keeps the class entertaining, cracks jokes, etc. Just keep up with the reading & go to class and you'll do fine! Excellent professor.

I had Dr. Leone for Theories of Personality.....HE IS AMAZING. I was scared going into his class, because everyone was like its soo difficult, but its quite the contrary. He likes to seem like hes a hard teacher, but hes not. The first test was I would say the hardest, the next 3 were a piece of cake if you study your class notes + I outlined book.

(Same person from last comment). I got an A in his class. Gives 6 pts extra credit to final grade. You could fail whole calss and make a 84/100 Q's and still get an A. I Reccomend him 110%!

attendance is not mandatory but he doesn't use powerpoints so there are no notes posted on Blackboard. explains material well. I recommend doing the reading but most of the exams come from the lecture. exams aren't very difficult but they aren't necessarily easy either. attend class and pay attention and you'll do fine :D

I've taken him during my undergraduate and graduate acamic career. I got A's in both of those classes. He's hard but fair. You'll learn tons.

Psychology is my minor & I made an account in order to rate Professor Leone if that tells you anything. He is brilliant, engaging, and made everything easy to understand. His tests are moderately difficult, but if you read the bold and italicized words in the book, as well as your lecture notes, this class is cake!

I personally didn't find his class hard, but I know my classmates did. I didn't miss a lecture though. I say attendance is mandatory because his lectures are important for tests; he doesn't take attendance. Not an easy A, you have to work for your grade, but he doesn't make it impossible for you to get a good grade- it's on you.

Dr. Leone is awesome. I really enjoyed his class but it is not am easy class to take. It is required that you read everything assigned in the book and attend every class because his exams are 1/2 book and 1/2 from lecture. At the end of the course you have the option to take the final and what you get on the final will be your grade for semester.

Hated this class. At first I thought the class was going to be about PERSONALITIES.Turns out , 80% of the semester all he talks about is extroversion/introversion and it's all over exaggerated. You have to read the book to pass, his class lectures are terrible. STAY AWAY :)

Dr. Leone is great. He is challenging and teaches you a lot. He expects you to act like an adult and study, big deal. Whats the point in taking upper level classes if youre not going to dedicate some time to them? If you want to learn, take Dr.Leone.

Dr. Leone is definitely not an easy professor. He talks a lot about his research on self-monitoring and introversion/extroversion. You have to read the book and you HAVE to go to class. He is willing to help if you are struggling. Take this class if you want a challenge, otherwise steer clear.

I really like this class. BUT it's a pain to miss lectures. His notes only make sense when *he* explains them, so copying from a friends doesn't always work. You have to read the textbook too, but this IS college. Duh. I've still enjoyed this class though. He is truly a nice person and very knowledgeable on the subject. It's hard but worth it!

Never take your cellphone out in class, seriously he will embarrass you in front of everyone. Good class overall, would take him again. Must read the text, attendance isn't mandatory but tests are 1/2 lecture 1/2 textbook. cool guy.

Dr. Leone is great, attendance is not mandatory, but when I missed class, I did not do well on the tests. You HAVE to read the book and pay attention in class and you will do fine! His lectures are interesting, I usually am so bored during lectures but this was honestly such a beneficial class! Take him if you are not lazy! No cell phones EVER!

Dr. Leone is awesome!!! He is funny and always willing to help. Not an easy A, but if you work some you will do well. I would definitely suggest this professor if you get a chance to take him!

Dr. Leone is one of the best professors I've ever had, would definitely recommend. Teaches you to think. Willing to go extra mile to help. Uses textbook and outside material in his class. Fair, professional, competent. Do not take if you are lazy and expect things handed to you, but it's not overwhelming. An A is definitely doable. No hw & essays!

Love this professor! Took theories of personality & close relationships with him. Interesting courses. If you're lazy you won't like the class. Four tests, optional final, if you do better on the final it replaces the other four. Attendance is important. Must know class & book notes. Very willing to help. A good challenge but enjoyable!

You either love him or hate him. I loved him. Yes, Dr. Leone can be sarcastic and very critical of school administration, but he knows his stuff, and will help those who try to help themselves. Tests are HARD, so be prepared to study both the text and the class lectures. If your plans include Grad School, this is a guy you want on your side.

Honestly, I thought that the class was fair and easy enough. The downside is that you have to go to every class lecture or you will miss vital information for the exam. His questions are tricky though, but if you pay attention to detail in your lecture notes... it will be easy. Don't cram either, prepare for his exams a week prior.Read the textbook

I took Dr. Leone's class a couple of years ago. He is a very knowledgable professor with a tremendous amount of knowledge, and I highly recommend taking his class. He is a bit odd, but is more than willing to help you if you're committed to learning the course material.

No surprise, must attend lecture and read book - vital info in both. Professor is entertaining and his notes include mostly graphs, charts, etc. He is willing to answer questions and help. I recommend his class.

He knows what he is talking about. Missing a day is very critical because he goes over many things in one class. His test are very detailed, but he helps you clarify anything,make sure you understand his graphs. no papers, quizzes, only 3 test. His favorite phrase is "it depends" don't get frustrated when he doesn't give you a definite answer.

Overall, pretty good professor. DO NOT TAKE HIM LIGHTLY!!!! Probably the hardest class I have ever taken, but I feel like I have a deeper understanding of the subject. Class attendance isn't mandatory, but info in class is very important. Read the book.

Yes, Dr. Leone actually expects you to learn all the material, but he explains things very well and makes his expectations very clear up front. He does teach to prepare you for grad school, but I'm a psych minor with no plans for grad school and I still loved this class. If you're genuinely interested in learning, do not hesitate to take him.

This class is for real students, therefore, u must attend, take & study notes, skim & read the book, form a study group, and go to him for advice if needed. He is a very good professor and u r expected to be a good student. The topic is interesting but don't take it for that reason: take it because u want to learn. If not then stick to SOP & DEP.

I love Dr. Leone. His expectations are very clear cut and he lets you know that in the beginning. His tests are hard--even if you attend lectures you have to spend a good amount of time outside of class preparing for tests as they cover lots of information taught in class along with the readings in the book. Good, funny man; truly out to help you.

Great professor. He's sets out his expectations clearly in the beginning. You must attend class, he deducts one point from your grade each time you miss. No power point lectures, notes for class consists of an outline and examples he writes on the board. Tests include lecture notes and assigned reading. A little challenging but such a great class!

Absolute best professor I've ever had. His lecture is from the vast amount of information he has accumulated as a doctor of his field. You cannot find it in the book, therefore requiring you to be in class, every class. His lectures and style of teaching are stimulating and challenging. Work hard and you will reap endless benefits from this prof.

Amazing professor! Intimidating at first, but Just cares about his job and has a great way of inspiring you to want to learn. His expectations are clear-cut. Read the text, go to class, take good notes, and you will be fine. I am in his class now, I study extremely hard, but every good exam grade is well worth it. Highly recommend Dr. Leone!

Old-school professor. Course grade was based on three exams + SONA extra credit - absences. He takes attendance every meeting, and doesn't excuse for anything. His lectures are strictly his own take on the text material, and don't involve PowerPoint (thus not online). Passing is easy if you pay attention and make the effort, like college should be.

I love Dr. Leone! He's so funny and his lectures won't put you to sleep. His tests are all multiple choice and easy if you have a good understanding of the material. He tries to sound intimidating, but he just tries to scare off students who do not take learning about psychology seriously. I learned so much from him. I wish he taught more classes!

Dr. Leone is a great professor. He's dedicated to teaching specifically what the class is. Four exams - absences + extra credit (6 points). Or the final exam is your total grade - absences + extra credit. I had to work for my grade. No A- or B+. Just A, B, etc. He's hilarious, and although he seems scary, he's wonderful to have. Definitely a must.

Dr. Leone can come off as abrasive at first but it is a great professor. If you go to class and read the textbook you'll be fine. Tests are multiple choice and there's only four of them. Also if you happen to get bored in class, looking at his hot bod is a good distraction.

Dr. Leone is by far the BEST professor I have had. He is well respected and might seem intimidating, but when you talk to him he is extremely caring and helpful. He is very clear in his expectations. He constantly challenges his students. Get ready to work for your grade!! He is amazing.

Doc Leone seems intimidating at first and has some fairly harsh rules for his class. If you can get past that he's a fantastic teacher! He's very no-nonsense and straightforward and its very obvious that he knows what he's talking about and cares enough try to teach you well. His class isn't easy but he genuinely wants to help you learn! take him!
