Chris is a really nice guy. I had him for 120 and he has coached several of my speeches for the speech team. He is understanding and is will to listen. Awesome and funny teacher

What a fun guy to learn from. A welcome change from the boring, lecture straight from the book, kind of professors. Very entertaining and smart. He makes it a point to connect with all students.

I had Chris for 100,110 and 120. I have learned so much from him. His assignments are so much fun and yet so difficcult, that you dont even feel you are learning. The only bad thing I can think of from his class is that I talk using my hands now. : )

Chris is the best teacher ever. He is so involved with his classes you can't help but love him. He is very compassionate and way to funny. If you want to have fun while you're learning I recommend taking one of his classes.

He's the coolest teacher i've ever had. He makes you very comfortable. Take him in the summer he's so much and fun, not to mention good looking!

He is the nicest teacher out of all my teachers that I had, hes so easy to talk to and joke around with hes not so uptight and hes never in a bad mood. Unless u walk in one of his speeches. He makes the class fun and doesnt bore you at all. So energetic and he will always make u want to class

Okay, seriously, Chris has to be one of the coolest teachers I've ever had in my life. Not only did he help me get over my fear of public speaking, he gave me some wonderful eye candy to behold at 9 in the morning. He is the best teacher for Speech. He have the best stories ever and he is fine 2. You take notes but u really don't use them. He has 2 tests and 4 Speeches which are easy. Chris was a great teacher, exceptionally witty, and filled with great stories. However, his grading on speeches are harsh and tests are challenging considering he does not cover remotely anything that is on them. This was like an independent study.

Mr. Miller is a great teacher!! He actually gets his students interested. But, when he says study for the tests, he means it. Make a study guide with the key terms list he gives you and study your notes!!! Take him, especially if you aren't a great speaker. Do you have tons of great thoughts & ideas, but fear of public speaking keeps you from telling anyone about them? If so, Chris is the guy who can give you the skills & the confidence to speak up & say them out loud. Though he's far too humble to take the credit, he helped me find the voice I never knew I had, & now I can't seem to shut up.

HOTTEST TEACHER EVER!!! He talks a bit fast, but the classes are fun and it's worth going to just look at him! Very helpful and passionate about what he does. If you're scared of public speaking definately take him he makes you feel very comfortable. AND HE ISN'T ANYTHING BAD TO LOOK AT! Read the textbook for tests and put effort into speeches.

If you want to learn anything about communication, Chris is your guy. He explains things very clearly, uses great analogies, and is very enthusiastic about getting to know who you are, and how he can help you become better. He helps every person differently based on the kind of person you are, and thats a quality you find in many teachers.

I love Mr. C. I was sold into taking his class when we saw that silly video at the orientation in which he and another speech teacher are demonstrating classroom etiquette (sp?). At first, no offense Chris I thought he was gay because he is so eccentric and out there. But he's happily married to a lucky lady and absolutely in love with his kid. <3

Best teacher ive ever had at COD. Funny as hell, he is like a teenager in an adult's body, but he also knows his stuff. He is a speech coach so he expects a lot out of you for your presentation, but definately take him, you will love going to his class. Only bad thing is he doesnt teach out of the book at all but still expects you to know the stuff

Miller is a very funny guy! He's very helpful when it comes to getting prepare for a speech. However, midterms & final exams is what caused my grade to go down. He's a great teacher but as far as his midterms & finals: better think twice if you pick him (doesn't use the textbook and expects you to study EVERYTHING in the text...)

Chris was by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. He was incredibly funny and witty and made class enjoyable. His midterm and final really are not that hard if you actually study. Attendance is mandatory on speech days, but otherwise it isn't. I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

It's been almost a year since I took this class with Miller. I'm extremely shocked to discover his current rating. Chris is an amazing teacher. He's not a rude person, he'll always give you advice and just do well in the speeches; they helped me while the exams were sort of hard. I'd recommend everyone to take him while he's still around!!

Chris kicks a55! I had no interest in speech class, and he was so engaging that I instantly started to see the importance of these skills. Great sense of humor, anyone that gives this guy a bad rating is not a serious student and I am sure did it to yourself. Build yourself a structure and stick to it. Simples as that! GREAT JOB Chris!

Chris is a very ENERGETIC teacher. He's full of energy and makes class lectures fun. I liked how he made the midterm and final based off the notes he gives out. So take notes. Other than that he's really kool&outgoing and definatley knows how to keep your attention! I would definatley reccommend him. Just show up to class and do your work!

Took speech with Chris spring 2010 and had a blast. I don't think I've ever laughed as much in a class before, and he made everyone feel like family. Chris Miller is most definitely someone you want to have for a professor. I like to talk in front of people but Chris makes you feel so comfortable. He is always willing to help people after class. How to get an A in Miller's class: -go to class. -pay attention & participate. -take good notes (tests are mostly straight out of lectures & the book). -write your speeches like he tells you to write them. -be a cool person. Bing bang boom you've got an A. And you'll have an awesome time in class.

Didn't use the book except that some questions on the midterm and final were from some definitions in the book, but you go over them in class. Passed with a 97%! Take him!!

Professor Miller is a really great guy. I loved taking speech with him and he makes the class fun and interesting. The lectures are fun because he always tells great personal stories and to do well, just do what he tells you on the speeches. He is also very helpful outside of class. I still have the privilege of talking to him.

My opinion: Some comments are off. I agree that he's helpful and wants students to succeed. But, he can be self-centered, whiny, disorganized, and annoying at times. Can get his panties in a knot. Course is shortened in the Spring because of his Speech Tourn. But, this guy is still one of my favorite professors- he does try his best. Ha ha.

I had no interest in taking Speech, but he made it super fun! He's a pretty fair grader but you have to attend class. Super funny and always had a fun interesting class. Probably the only class i learned anything.

Best teacher I have had so far. I had never taken a speech class, and because of this class I actually ended up joining the speech team!Miller is straight up hilarious, and the class was fun. He definitely helped get people out of their shell, and makes everyone feel more comfortable with talking in front of a crowd.

I had taken the summer course with Miller and I have to say he is real cool. He's will make sure that you understand what you are doing and how to do it. TAKE HIM. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. BEST DECISION EVER. You'll laugh so hard you cry nearly every day. Doesn't assign much work, but what speeches that are, as long as you do them to the best of your ability, you'll get a high grade. He's the kind of teacher who wants to give you an A, and have you actually learn.

MILLER! haha great class to be in. you truly look forward to going to his class everyday. although i got a B in his class, this was with little effort. put in effort on his midterm and final and you will surely get the A. P.S. if you are fine with googling speech terms you don't need to get the book.

Miller is a great speech professor. He has a lot of experience when it comes to teaching speech. He knows how to get everyone's attention through humor and stuff like that. It doesn't hurt that he's pretty nice to look at. But he does have this tendency to be biased, I feel. So make yourself noticeable Try to be exciting

Class with Miller is pretty much like driving a Jag through a pile of ninjas up an erupting volcano with Natalie Portman in the passenger seat and James Bond tied up in the trunk. Seriously though, Miller is the man, and you'll learn a lot in this class. I'm not a particularly nervous public speaker, but if you are, he fosters a good atmosphere.

Chris Miller is an excellent teacher but he is not for the faint-hearted. Always do what he asks and it is an easy A. He really cares for his students, but he is not afraid to be harsh. Sometimes he gets off topic; however, this adds to his character and makes him the great professor he is.

Without a doubt THE best teacher I've had at COD. He makes the class interesting! He's hilarious and really relates to his students. He explains everything perfectly and tells us exactly what we need to do. I thought taking a class in the summer would be unbearable but he made me want to come to class. Pretty hot, too.

Chris shows the most passion in his job than any other teacher I have ever had. He loves his students as long as you respect him, and he is an easy guy to get along with and trust. He can be energetic during lectures and he tells you exactly what you need to get an A. I'm looking forward to taking 1120 with him!

I was so nervous to take an 8 am speech class. However, Miller did an excellent job of instructing it. Only 4 speeches (intro, group, informative, persuasive) online midterm and online final. I did not always get along with him, but he was very helpful and available at his office. Also come to class because some of the final are from the notes.

Great teacher, honestly amazing at what he does. He has a lot of stories to tell and they are good ones. DO NOT mention your views against gun control because he will not stop talking about it.

Going to this class was like watching stand up comedy. He is HILARIOUS! He's a really great teacher, I loved him. I hate speech but he made this class incredible. Mr. Miller was an amazing speech teacher! I was nervous and terrified about taking speech but he made it a wonderful experience! I'm very shy and absolutely afraid of public speaking but the longer I stayed in his class, the more comfortable I became. His lectures were my favorite out of all my five classes because he was simply INTRIGUING.

He is a great teacher and class was fun. His lectures are kind of useless they really had nothing to do with speech. Some personal stories he gave were inappropriate and off topic. But overall an easy A class and you have to show up to get points for attendance.

Mr. Miller is by far one of the best teachers at C.O.D ! I am not a speech person and Mr. Miller made me and the entire class each very comfortable enough to speak in front of an audience. On the first day of class, Miller establishes a personal and comfortable environment. The relationships made in class allow for comfortable presentations.

Took an 8 week class with miller he is far one of the most best teachers ive ever had but i really think he should be a comedian he is hilarious and down to earth not stuck up like the rest of the professors at COD. You wont regret taking his class as long as you listen he is there to teach but also be a friend he loves his students honestly!

From the first day he tries to connect w/ the class by telling great stories & cracking jokes. Always makes the effort to help you with any problems you have with class. Go to his office hours! He does the all the info persuasion and group speeches but he makes them so doable. Mid & final online so it's really easy to get an A. Best teacher ever!

I took him over the summer and overall he is a great guy and he really knows his material but the only issue I had was he was a very tough grader but other then that he is an amazing teacher who cares about his students and he wants everyone to pass with an A. I would definitely recommend him because he will make your speech experience easier.

Miller is awesome, he get's along with all of his students and you are guaranteed to laugh every time you go to his class. He develops a good relationship with each and every one of his students. He get's pretty personal but he is a very interesting guy. He will be very straight forward with you when it comes to grading. Easy class, do take.

Best teacher hands down... I had to write a eulogy a semester after I took the class and he messages me back in less than 10 min. Really cares about making a change in education and in this world. I respect him so much and how far he's gone. Thank you Miller.

I LOVE MILLER! I am so sad this semester is over. He took public speaking which is something I loathe and turned it into a completely great experience for me! He is hilarious and is able to engage the class in intellectual conversations. He will not just challenge you as a student but as a young adult. Best choice you can make!

Miller is awesome and super funny! Basically, just show up and listen to him and you'll do fine. Easy grader mostly, but for the 3 speeches we have to give, he's a bit stricter. You'll have to actually try if you want an A on those.

If you have the chance take his class. I had a borderline grade in the class but he helped me get the grade I needed. He's very friendly and is always open for a conversation. His lectures strictly cover the content on the exams so you know exactly what you will find on the test.

Let me begin by saying that if you are dreading taking a speech class, then Miller is the right choice. He made Speech easy and fun. I am a person with very high anxiety and was dreading this class so much. I never thought I'd say this again but I'd be happy to take another speech class if it was led by Miller. Class is mandatory for speeches, of course. Miller is funny, and has an interesting life to share. Swearing is a must for him, which was pretty fun. He is caring, emotional, and loving. Follow his steps when it comes to writing speeches, show that you care, and you'll get an A. For the final exam, he let us work together to get it done as a class!

I would definitely recommend taking Miller's class. I dreaded taking Communications class, but the minutes I walked into Dr. Miller's class I KNEW I would be ok. He truly cares about every single one of his students and he will let you know it. You know exactly what you are being graded on and are given criteria for speeches. You get to give a speech on whatever you want. 3 speeches - 2 informative, 1 persuasive. It's the same topic but delivered differently to match criteria. ex. I gave 3 speeches on Aspergers. the 1st was informative. 2nd was to show improvement on the 1st. 3rdpersuasv

a major part of your grade is showing up to ur classmate's speeches. you will love coming to this class because he's so frackin funny and makes his students actually excited about showing up. no tests or quizzes, just the final which is online and open notes. he changes your perspective on school in a good way. he puts himself in our shoes.

Took miller my freshman year for speech and it was amazing!!! Miller cares so much about his students and how they act inside and outside of the classroom. I feel more prepared for life over all after taking this course!!! Definitely recommend Professor Miller.

I took the speech class that is criminal justice-focused. We studied communication between cops and the public, body language, and tone. It was a fascinating and easy class. He is very open about his life. My class was only 6 people so we got ahead of all of his other classes, so class canceled a couple of times. I wish we had done more crimj stuff

I took Christopher Miller's speech class the summer before my junior year of high school. This was the best decision that I have ever made because he helped me become a better speaker and helped me look at the world through a different perspective. Anyone that takes speech would greatly benefit from taking his class. The best teacher I've ever had.

As soon as you can sign up for classes, get this one first, b/c his sessions fill fast. He genuinely cares about his students & wants them to succeed at life more than at school. If you're not going to show up to his class to learn anything, you should at least show up for Miller. You'll learn something from the lectures regardless. Best professor.

He was a little out of his element with it being online, I wish we had met in person. I felt like I still learned a lot and the overall kindhearted positivity he brought to class and shared with each ofus meant a lot.
