Chris is an excellent professor. Really knowledgeable in terms of the subject matter. Class was largely a debate where students were free to offer their input on the previous weeks readings. He does expect you to read the text book. It is not a difficult read and I personally found it quite interesting. However, I understand that might bug others.
I understand some people may find this professor very good and he is very knowledgeable about the subject matter but I think it would have been more helpful if things were put online to look back on while studying for tests. I took notes but found them very little help when it came to exams.
Awesome instructor, very knowledgeable in the topic and hosts a fun class. I would recommend this instructor.
Fantastic instructor, could not hope for a better teacher.
Chris is super funny and interesting. Every class I laugh. He is very knowledgeable and I look foreword to this class whenever I have it. There are many readings you must do from the Globalization text.
Good class!
Really enjoyed this class. Served as an eye opener! Dude knows his stuff, I learned a lot! GO TO CLASS. You will definitely fail if you don't. Try to get past how intimidating he is and talk in class. Study hard for the final & take your time on your papers. Hard marker, but fair if you got what he's looking for. Bonus* He's pretty funny.
Great professor! He's very clear on his expectations and overall a very smart guy. Chris is a very fair marker. If you want to do well just GO TO CLASS and participate!
I really enjoyed the course, as I was informed on topics that I was not aware of. The subject matter may seem intimidating at first. I rarely read the assigned reading, yet a week before the midterm/final I read one chapter of the assigned reading a day. I earned a fairly good mark because of this. Exam material is taken directly from the text.
Chris is an excellent prof! Most impressive is his ability to teach u fairly difficult subjects without u even realizing. He is very insightful, knows his stuff& is always well prepared for his lecture. Attendance is so important! There were specific Qs on the final about video clips from just 1 class. He loves ppl to participate in discussions too
Great teacher, very engaging although had multiple tangents. Made globalization a interesting subject to learn.
Chris is very intelligent and really is passionate about what he's teaching, which makes for an interesting class. He's a bit cynical, which he knows, and although a bit depressing he makes the course one worth attending. Go to class, and he loves when people engage in class convo! :)
Kind of intimidating at first, but then you realize how chill he is. i have no interest in globalization what so ever, but it was an easy class
What a great prof! He is clear, he is engaging, he is entertaining, and he is really willing to help out his students. If you so much as skim the textbook and go to a few classes, you'll do fine, because he makes everything so simple to learn and so interesting too!
Great prof, down to earth and is able to joke around. Attend the classes, read the books and you'll be fine. Classes are enjoyable so it won't be a task to attend. Exams are short but pick out critical themes, brush up on the main arguments of the writters through sparknotes don't rely on this solely.
Honestly, on the first day Chris babbled about how he is such a tough marker and how much everyone will have to work... it was honest-not just to scare first years Lectures don't seem very organized, there's a HEAVY emphasis on the text, and Divine help you if you skip. Be focused, read, show up, get ready to write. Also, don't have ADHD #struggle
What a champ Chris, what a champ! Usually in a 330 class I'm either day dreaming or thinking about food, but Chris is able with his humor and style of teaching that kept my attention! I defentley recommend Chris!
Tough course, heavily religion based especially for a tier one GNED. Background information is very helpful. ATTEND CLASS. He does not post lectures online and most information comes from class discussion. Intimidating at first but very approachable, cool guy. Knows what he's talking about. Readings are long and dense if you are not interested.
This guy was awesome. He taught a class that gave me so much insight on religion, poverty, the economy and just life in general. It was an amazing class and I absolutely loved it. His way of teaching is the most down-to-earth simple, clear cut and honest way of teaching I have ever seen. Definitely recommend.
Chris is by far one of the most pessimistic sand cynical professors I have ever had and I wouldn't have asked for a better instructor. Chris' "humans suck" approach really put things into a perspective I would have never thought about. Definitely DEFINITELY would recommend. Spoiler alert: he does make you read the communist manifesto for GNED 1301.
Go to class and you will get an A no problem! Super great professor and awesome guy in general. Willing to help out at any time! He once replied to my email at 5am on a weekend... I thought the class was very interesting and he shares some ideas that I had never considered before. Highly recommend Chris and this course is an easy gned!
Chris is an amazing professor, he is extremely knowledgable about poverty, religion and the economy, etc. He really knows what he is talking about, i thouroughly enjoyed this class even though i came into it with low interest. His readings are quite extensive and dry but they do benefit you in writing the essays and exams. Awesome prof!!
run as fast as you can
Chris understands that students don't really take Gneds seriously, so its nice that this class only had midterm, writing assignment (not an essay) and final, and not a bunch of unnecessary assignments. He knows his stuff about globalization and although may seem intimidating at first, he's a nice guy and really funny. Gives a ton of readings.
Chris is a really great professor who is extremely passionate about the subjects he teaches. Some people believe his cynical approach to the course is extreme, however they do not realize that the state of our world must be discussed in such a fashion. Take notes, do the readings, actually attempt to learn something and you will do well.
If you go to class you will pass, simple right? write notes on what the guy is saying and not his slides which he uses as a tool to start each lecture topic... he also doesn't publish these slides so again go to class, write notes and study an hour a week and you'll get an A
This is my second class with Chris & obviously I liked him enough to come back. He's super passionate and hilarious, but expect to put in effort! There's a lot of reading& if you don't attendget notes you're screwed. You'll learn a lot about the world from Chris, he's brilliant and thinks outside the box. Good if u want a challenge & new viewpoint
Chris is a very honest professor. He is quite pessimistic which takes sometime to adjust to however he is very good with his material. DON'T SKIP CLASS. You need to read to pass. Take good notes apart from what he asks you to copy off his slides. He's a good grader. He replies soon and is very approachable.
Chris goes on several tangents while you struggle to write notes & draws unclear diagrams on the blackboard. The slides are useless and he is generally lecture-based. He does not encourage dialogue with students. He MAYBE asks if anyone has questions but it's hard to even ask before he changes to a new slide. I DO NOT recommend this guy.
. Honest . Passionate for what he's teaching . Sense of humour . Get's you thinking and constantly asks the students questions "to what extent..." . Are the readings hard? Yes. Did I procrastinate on his assigned readings? Yes. Do I regret it? Yes . You are going to have to put it work to do well in his class . Do not skip his class
Even if you get a friend to take notes for you for a missed class it won't be sufficient. Attendance is so important!!
Chris may be a very funny guy but is a lazy teacher. A whole test based on quotes from the Communist Manifesto shows a lack of effort in varying the material. Exams are hard to prepare for as he has questions based on obscure quotes or things he said in passing in the first 15 seconds of class. Slide after slide with no explanation or discussion
Not the "GPA booster" kind of GNED. Content is tough but interesting. He's a great lecturer and DON'T SKIP CLASS or you will fail. guaranteed.
don't take his class unless you can absolutely make it for every single one. It would have been helpful to have the lecture slides online, as note-taking is not enough. He goes on tangents about things that aren't really related to the material. Most confusing course I've ever taken.
This class shouldn't have been a first year class, or a gned. Chris is knowledgeable about the subject matter, but you have to have some sort of background knowledge about it before hand. If you have the chance to take a different section, do it.
There is hardly any grading criteria and you must go to every class in order to pass (that's not even enough). His tests were difficult to study for and we're extremely difficult to take. Doesn't give much feedback and, when he does, it's terribly critical. He's a funny guy but I wouldn't recommend taking his class.
Like reading, critical thinking & challenging some ideas? Recommend taking his class. The course may not be a "GPA booster" but a good way to expand horizon. Books are good! Although some slides are not very organized, you still can get the ideas if you put effort in class participation and do some research. GRAMMAR MATTERS! Worth learning!
Chris, although a great and hilarious person, sucks when it comes to teaching. Totally unclear and will dock a lot of marks even if there isn'y many. When given the study guide, he added info that wasn't even needed for the final exam. This course is NOT a GPA booster, take at your own risk.
a lot of reading. but he is a good grader. take notes during the class and study those notes in very detail. you will be fine on exams. I got A- in this semester but I study a lot on the notes.
Chris is an arrogant man. He constantly makes negative comments about business students and gives the impression that his opinion is the only one that matters. His lectures are confusing and boring, he doesn't clearly state what you should know for exams, and a lot of the reading links do not work and he rarely replies to emails asking for new ones
He does give a hard test (but if you study hard you will pass) and with the written midterm he was super helpful in pointing everyone in the right direction without giving away the answers. He makes you work and earn your mark, and I find his humour awesome! Would take another class with him
Chris makes you feel like you're doomed. He isn't a tough marker though! A big part of essays is grammer and editing (25%). He makes you think in ways you probably aren't used to. His class wasn't a waste of time though and was a GPA boost for me. Be ready to read some tough material.
Don't take his class. Very tough marker.
He's well spoken. He has an expansive and introspective understanding of the topics, but the class isn't engaged (lectures are traditional-style) so a lot of interest post-course or even post-lecture can be lost. Readings should be done, upside is they won't cost you. Also, because I know he reads this page, he's a rad prof and I'd recommend him.
He was the worst proof I have ever had at MRU. The class had no structure and was boring and off topic the entire time. I can honestly say I learned nothing. His exam was barely based of the notes and there is no way to do well. Its a GNED and he thinks we want to be there...... we have to take your class nobody wants to
Chris is a nice guy and the class isn't too hard if able to focus and wrap head around it. It's boring and depressing! LOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNG LECTURES, required to Read books galore and write essays galore. doesn't like capitalism yet moves to Alberta for work? suggestion: prepare to be mentally abused for 3.5 months. Good luck, God Speed.
Great prof! Highly recommend... just be ready to participate!
Gave a lot of lectures, but gets distracted easily and then ends up back on topic. I really enjoyed this class, plus he let me sass him
For a GNED course, Chris does make you read hard material. Once you understand the concepts, the course really expands your horizons. If ur looking for an easy A, he is not the prof for you. The final was fair which he made it sound extremely difficult (study and you'll be fine). He's very funny as well! Might be a very cynical, but he knows that.
Chris is a great teacher! for a first year GNED the content is a bit difficult with the books he assigns (4-5 books,) and can be a hard concept to understand especially if you have different views. The final is difficult so make sure you study hard for it, but for the essays he is a very fair marker and gives good feedback. Overall he's a great guy
Not yet finished the course but love it so far. Seems super clear with grading criteria, responds quickly to inquiries and his lectures are super interesting. Very little reading and what he does make us read is actually relevant and very intriguing. Super fun prof, seems like a super nice guy also.
Chris is an incredibly funny instructor and finds a way to grasp student's interests in every lecture. He doesn't assign much work for a GNED class which is awesome as well. After being told several times that 1301 is a tougher GNED course, I thought I wouldn't perform that well. Yet I was proven wrong by taking Chris' class!
Chris is the just the best prof!!! I really enjoyed his class, as it helped me to be able to carry a convo with my grandfather. Just kidding. Really good class, and if you do the readings, and study the notes, you'll be good to go. His lectures are very interesting also. Definitely, recommend taking this class with Chris!
Good class, lots of reading, but very interesting topics. Chris is a good teacher, but you need to earn your grade. If you're planning on skipping classes, don't take the class, you won't pass it.
If you are taking this GNED for a GPA booster, don't take the class with Chris. This was the hardest class of my entire semester. Especially don't take this class if you are in first year. This class was very difficult and very boring. I would not recommend this class.
Had him for spring semester he makes you read a lot but it doesn't matter because it's all interesting material... You only get the chance to be graded on a few things b/c there isn't much work assigned which can be good or bad (watch your grammar). He's not very open minded about business students but it didn't bother me he's still a nice guy.
Chris has been my favorite prof so far!! I would definitely recommend his class to anyone who is willing to put a little effort in. He makes lectures interesting with his jokes and is a fair grader, just make sure you pay attention and skim over the readings. 10/10 would take again.
Amazing class
Really interesting course, thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. Interesting and thought provoking subject matter, interesting readings. Chris gives great lectures and is pretty funny.
Chris is a good guy. Two things, don't expect to find this course easy if you are planning on skipping class, as he does not post his lectures online which are filled with content that you can easily be tested on. And two, his tests are not a cake walk at all, however he is a very generous marker. Solid choice for a prof.
Chris is an amazing prof. Lectures are interesting, and readings are actually really enjoyable. While attendance isn't mandatory, I highly recommend going to every class, as he doesn't post powerpoints and only tests on lecture material. Super funny prof. Highly recommend.
Chris was my favourite prof all semester! I always found his lectures interesting and he was very easy going. Definitely show up to class as he doesn't post his power points. He provides a fair amount of reading and not a lot of work which made thing much easier. HIGHLY suggest taking one of his classes.
Sometimes Chris rubbed off on me in the wrong ways. He seemed very rude at times when writing papers he can put you down. Good teacher but seems rude.
One of the most interesting GNED's I've had. Although lectures are long one class/week), he puts in an effort to keep it interesting. This course consisted of reading 3 books, one essay, one creative project, and a final. Although it's a bit heavy reading, the books he chooses are worth it. He marks fair. Would definitely have him as a prof again!
Chris is a great instructor. I was very uninterested in the course content but because he was very passionate about what he was teaching it made it bearable. He does not post any notes so you have to be taking notes in every class as it will all come up on his tests.
I thought going into this gned wouldn't require a lot of effort but I was completely wrong. My worst class ended up being this class throughout the whole semester. He knows that almost everyone does not want to be there but yet has the audacity to mark hard and give a final when this class should not be a main priority.
Chris is a very solid instructor and gives you the proper resources to succeed. Fairly easy/straightforward tests. If you attend lectures/do the readings you shouldn't need to study much for the final. Would definitely recommend taking Chris if you want a solid GNED.
Make sure you show up. You will not pass otherwise. He doesn't use a textbook or post anything meaningful to blackboard. It is an easy A/A- if you just sit in class and take notes. He WILL tell you what is on the exams and what is expected of you.
There is one more week left and Idk what I have learnt so far other than writing an essay, do a presentation, reading books and preparing for the final. His class is very boring. He doesn't post the notes so make sure you attend every class for them! Hard grader, but you should be fine to get that passing grade. BTW, u write notes the ENTIRE class!
Lectures were killing me. No breaks in between. He dims the lights and all you want is to fall asleep. Course content is interesting at times. Very fair grader. Overall, I have enjoyed this course. Make sure you read the lectures to revise the info. Will help to prepare for the exam.
He has the ability to make dull and/or complicated subjects both interesting and humourous.
He's an awesome lecturer, and loves what he teaches. Lots of content which can be boring, but he really makes an affort to keep you engaged. I took two of his classes and came out of both with a good grade, just by going to class.
The class itself isn't super interesting but Chris works hard to be captivating and keep his students engaged with the material. I do recommend taking his classes as it was a overall really good experience.
Chris is cool he makes lots of funny jokes and the content is pretty interesting but beware he has 3 degrees and a PHD or something which makes one on ones difficult due to his arrogance and he marks hard. Tons of reading
A very hard grader for a first year GNED class. 25% of all writen projects is graded on grammar so if English isn't your first language, good luck.. He doesn't post anything on BlackBoard so if you don't come to each class for the notes, you will fail. The worst part was the fact that one book was online, I couldn't read it because my eyes hurt.
Awesome guy! Made a lot of pretty funny notes and interesting points, but you'll get them all from 45 minute tangents down odd paths. He didn't post notes so if you're gonna miss a day make sure you have friends in the class. The toughest marker I've had so far, and you only get graded a couple times. Was interesting for a first semester.
Chris was absolutely hilarious. There were a couple essays and a project but they were pretty straightforward if you actually read the books and listened in class. The only downside is that you HAVE to show up to lecture to get his notes. Other than that, great prof.
He is a nice guy, kinda funny. No notes are ever posted, need to show up everytime for a simple GNED class. Extremely lecture heavy, you show up to class and just take notes all class. Not worth it for a base GNED
This man makes it easy to pass if you show up and just take notes. He has a good sense of humor and doesn't make the course overly stressful and work-heavy. There are two midterms that are fairly easy as far as university tests go, and then just a brief written assignment at the end of the course, and there was no final.
Show up for lecture and you're golden. He is hilarious and makes lectures as interesting as he can. Really passionate about the field work he has done. Also understands being stuck in group projects with useless people and is super helpful with bumping up your grade. Only a midterm exam, which was dead easy.
Chris is an awesome professor. Super hilarious and still is able to get his point across. His dedication towards his field work is very respected. Only a midterm, group research essay, presentation about that essay, and a short 2 page assignment due on the last day of class. Go to class and youll be fine.
Chris is a great guy. Hes hilarious but not an awesome prof. While I did get an A in the course, he is an incredibly hard marker for a GNED course. The group paper is worth a TON and really screws you over if you get people who arent as committed as you. My grade went from an A+ to A- bc of it. I wish we were graded on more individual work.
Introductory class was the best of the whole semester and it was downhill from there. Mark is based off of two essays and a final. The lecture is very dry, texts are average. Need to attend class for any and all information. Final was short and fair. Chris has a great sense of humor but you can only make the subject so interesting.
He cares so much about grammar. The group research project was almost graded from grammar only. We had one test on which some of us failed because he graded it pretty hard. Chris would say that the research project and presentation would be the grade booster, but definitely not. I would not take his class again. He's a funny and nice guy though.
Overall, Chris is a good prof. He gives you lots of time for the group project but he makes the groups so if you get a bad group then say goodbye to a good grade. The test isn't hard if you go to class. By far one of the funnier profs I've had!
I had Chris for one of my first university classes and he was really amazing. You definitely have to work for your grade and show up to class, but if you clearly are putting in the effort youll do totally fine. Hes very supportive and wants his students to succeed. Other than a group project, there was only one quiz. 10/10 would recommend
Awesome class, Chris made the material really interesting. 10/10 would take a class with him again. You do need to read a fair amount and he will test you on them but theyre really not that bad. He tried to make online lectures more fun, and is quite clear about expectations for the course. I think hes a fair grader too.
I would have loved this class if I took it with anyone else. I understand that teaching through covid is hard but he made this course way more complicated than it needed to be. He is the hardest grader, yet is super vague with what he expects of you. Its quite frustrating.. dont take this class with him!!!
Longest lectures ever! Just keeps on talking about random things. Notes are so unclear and unorganized and marks really hard. Is nice, but not the best to be learning from.
Talks a lot, many boring lectures. Nice guy though, however you have to do many readings and grades a little difficultly, focuses too much on grammar rather than the essay itself. always marks late and forgets to make assignments and lectures. But nice prof if you want to have a chill class
Took Citizenship without boarders and loved the class. If you are into business concepts like Globalization and Capitalism, this is your class. If you are into Philosophy and Anthrop then look no further. Chris made the class super interesting with lots of debates. I had 2 exams, one assignment and one paper. No text book, just a novel to read.
Chris was an ok prof. I really like the material that we learned. But I don't want to take another class with him. I didn't particularly appreciate how the midterms were only a few short answers. It wasn't that great to have only 4 things to be marked and each be 25% of our mark.
He is very good at keeping you engaged in class and he knows what he is talking about. A bit on the harder side of marking but nothing that can't be achieved, he is a funny guy and appreciates communication, though he doesn't use technology he still answers emails.
He touched on a lot of important topics, with fun slideshows to help keep you engaged! There are very few things you get graded on which makes your assignments and tests worth much more so you do have to prepare. There was one major group project, and he does focus heavily on grammar. Make sure you show up to all classes or you will miss stuff!
Chris has a very weird, easygoing, and nice dad energy! he's very understanding and relaxed if you have any concerns or worries. definitely makes you work for a good grade, but not in an unfair way. a bit of a tough marker, but is available to chat if you think you deserved a better mark. you must attend class or have a buddy taking notes for you
Chris is an amazing professor. He made capitalism a very interesting subject to learn! He gives a lot of information during class that you won't find anywhere else. I wouldn't bother reading the articles he provides unless you need additional understanding. Lastly, he is super harsh on grammar. Got 20% taken off just for that. Otherwise,LOVED him
Chris is one of the most amazing profs I have ever had. He makes the lectures very interesting, is understanding and is flexible when grading. Overall he is one of the most knowledgeable profs I've come across so far! His concepts are fascinating and he's super funny, so none of the lectures are dry.
One of my favorite profs for sure! I love Chris's teaching style- he makes lectures that would be pretty dry into very fascinating concepts. He's amazing at what he does. If you have the chance, take a class with him!
Chill prof but hard marker (grammar wise).
Best prof I've had in my four years at MRU. You can do well putting in basic effort and showing up to the class before each exam. Chris makes the classes enjoyable with his humor, lots of dad jokes.
Chris is an awesome prof. I had him for both GNED 1202 and UGST 1001 in the same semester and I found he was really accommodating for both. I took these classes to hopefully get a 4.0 GPA in order to get into another program, and when I came up just short of an A he let me do extra credit work to up my grade. All around awesome prof and great guy!
Lots of reading but this class is actually so easy if you put the time into. Sure Chris picks some boring books but he goes over all the practice questions in class which are very similar if not the same to what is on the actual quiz.
Moxham was overall a great prof! There were some readings that were boring or tough to get through, but he was there to help with any questions and often went over the texts in class with examples. Goes over things to know for the quizzes and the practice questions are very similar if not the same. Can go off topic occasionally, but great prof!!
I enjoyed this class and this professor, do the work and you'll do well.
I was worried after the first lecture but I actually enjoyed the content we covered and the assignments that followed as they made sense and correlated to the content we read. The quizzes are a little heavy with only limited amount of time. If you like reading and are good at defending your answers you should be fine in this class.
Chris was a really good prof, just a lot of reading and lecture heavy. His slides don't have a lot of information on them so be ready to take notes while he lectures. He tries to make the topics more interesting with a lot of dad jokes. He is really up everyone's butt about grammar so make sure to edit your work a lot !!!
Loved taking his GNED1301 class through COVID, have recommended him highly to all my friends. Extremely engaging content and always opened the floor for discussions. His lectures were simple and to the point. There was also no final for the class! The textbook that was assigned was an amazing read.
I took Gned 1404 with Chris, he is great! He wants everyone to do well, however you must try. I suggest coming to class as his lectures are easy to follow and helpful for quizzes and essays. Overall this course is relatively easy with Chris just do the work! He is also hilarious and kind!
Took Chris in the Fall of 2022. We had a great group of people in our class and everyone was friends with each other. Chris encourages engagement and cracks dad jokes all the time. There was no final but two midterms and a group "final" project. Is a great prof depending on your effort in the classroom.
One of two of my favourite post-secondary professor's I've ever taken classes with. His lecture style is very clear explanations sprinkled with sarcastic comments that make a point and dry humour that had us chuckling. For a GNED (and one in spring) the fact that the majority of the class was still showing up at the end...down right impressive!
Chris is one of my favourite professors. From the first day I walked into his spring class and he spent the first hour giving a hilarious monologue about his life I knew I was in for a treat. The assignments were engaging and very manageable. His quizzes were super fair and were very easy to succeed in if you showed up to class.Chris, your awesome.
Professor Moxham is a great professor! He used many relevant and impactful examples that make you want to create change. He also listens to student feedback about deadlines. His lectures have a lot of content and even though he posts slides to D2L, most of them don't have explanations. As long as you attend class regularly, you will succeed!
He is funny & and his classes are interesting, however, you only get graded for 4 assignments (team project=25%) that he has high expectations for but is provided with not-so-clear guidelines. (But he will help you with whatever you ask). H\is deadlines, etc are manageable which I found great considering this is GNED and doesn't take much time.
This class is one of those classes that is very hard to sit through and he thinks he hilarious but honestly sometimes he is just inappropriate. Chris is a very hard marker and honestly I think he uses something to do the marking for him. Would not recommend this class!!! He thinks it's a flex that he has a bad rating on here...enough said.
His course has few assignments (4 evaluative activities only), and it is a fun and interactive class indeed. This is NOT a grade booster class. He has a HARSH standard for students' writing. For reference, his impression of the 1303 final exam results: "You were a gifted class...Class average of 74%. Thirteen students scored above 79.5%"
For people who are here to check his rating for GNED choices: 1. No. This is not an easy A class. If you need a high GPA (scholarship, etc.), don't pay 800$ for a mediocre mark. You are extremely likely to end up on B +/- as that is his standard of "great" 2. If you are up for 100% effort, fun and challenges, go for it. He is a delightful prof.
(GNED 1403) Chris is a pretty average prof. Course material was easy enough. He's got dad humour, but it makes classes less boring. Lots of group projects worth most of your grade, I wouldn't recommend skipping for that reason. He doesn't give outlines which is weird. Grading is fine, just know your stuff, get to the point, and you're good.
I took GNED1403 with Chris. All I can say is if you are thinking about taking a class with him, RUN. It is not worth it. He kept complaining about our classroom the entire semester and Chris is a very tough grader. No idea how anybody got through his class.
Just stay away.
If you like to be belittled in his comments towards your assignments then you should definitely take this class. The professor himself teaches you very little, rambles about the dumbest things, most of what you learn is self taught. 0/10
Chris Moxham is a very good prof. He's honest from the beginning that you have to do the work to get a good grade, but the work is not that hard. His lectures are very engaging especially for a 3 hour class. He has a good sense of humour and he chooses relevant and important topics to discuss. Hope he can get over 3.8, he deserves it!
Chris has a unique teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class is manageable. Attendance is key, and group projects make up most of the grade. Try unstuck AI alongside the textbook to stay on top of things. Overall, an enjoyable experience.
Terrible Professor don't take any of his class
He says there is good news and that you dont have a final exam but you do have an "exam" that is worth more than an actual final just earlier in the course. Grades you on 4 things. Talked about his ratemyprof rating, saying things like "I'll never drop below a 4" also stated he never likes giving out good marks and considers it a failure if he does
Chris was very funny and his lectures were very engaging. He is picky about grammar but if you do his assignments properly you will have no struggles. He also gives good feedback. Some students found him rude but if you go to class and complete the work you will have no issues.
I really enjoyed Chris's class! I'd recommend attending his lectures even though attendance isn't mandatory. I found that he is fair if you communicate your situation to him and his tests are not too hard if you study and go to class. Overall great class!
This prof grades by a few things but is a tough grader. Esp picky with grammar. He says there's no test but there is one earlier in the semester. class average he told us is like 65% which is makes sense now cause all he is read off slides & the lecture slides are hard to navigate. His assignments don't have a proper rubric to follow aswell…
