Too haughty for my tastes; he is too arrogant and is not a good, natural teacher. I guess he tries to hard. Good guy, but not the best teacher.
Class was fun, a lot of discussion, so be prepared to participate. Quizzes once a week, but he emails the questions and we had all semester to write a paper. A little to republican for my taste though...
This guy rocks. His is one of the best I've had. If you dont enjoy this class then something is wrong with you!!!
Prof. Muro is very funny, engaging and really knows how to communicate well. I have never been that interested in politics, but this class has piqued my interest in being an active and informed voter. This is for sure one of the best classes and best teachers I've had at BCC. Its challenging and fun and he is helpful. Take the class you will learn.
I like him I don't know much about politics and didn't care to but now I want to be involed. I think he's a great teacher and I wish I would've had him for a full term and not summer, ther was too much to go over in a 6 week term. I think other students will benefit from him. It's good and refreshing to have a teacher who's not a 100 years old and
I learned so much in this class. I wish I was able to take another one of his classes. Mr. Muro is very knowledgeable and passionate about our country's gov't and how it runs. He's funny too. Great dresser. He gets my vote!! If you take notes and study, you will have no problem getting an A in this class and you will enjoy it.
If you show up, and take notes, you will easily get an A in the class. There are weekly quizzes, but he puts the questions up online the week before, so it makes it really easy. Government is not my thing at all, and I got an A in the class. Hes a nice, likeable guy, but sometimes I had trouble staying awake.
Great Professor! Very enthusiastic and intelligent! Makes it very easy to earn an A, there are weekly quizzes, but the quiz questions are posted a week prior to the actual quiz so you know exactly what to expect! I've always been fascinated with politics, but I can tell that he really influences others that wern't so initially interested!
Awesome professor! His tests are directly from his notes. Mr. Muro is helpful and very knowledgeable. His own academic career is impressive also. Wish he taught all classes at B.C.C.!
Prof Muro is a great teacher. Class is mostly lecture, but he kept my attention. There are weekly tests, but like another person said..the questions are posted on blackboard a week before. This is an easy A class, and its not even boring! I would suggest him to anyone!
Awesome Teacher. Great class lectures and discussions. Also, for once, a teacher that gives notes and tells u what the tests are about. 4 questions each test, cant beat it. And for the record, he is not one of these dummie english or science teachers trying to persuade or convince the weak minded into voting blue.
Not the instructor for an online class unless you have nothing to do but his coursework. Grades too harshly and turn around time to receive grades is forever.
This teacher is great! This class does require a lot of memorization. He gives a quiz every week that he posts the questions for online (exact Word for Word). The week before that, he answers the quiz questions in class. You really have to try hard to fail. There is a 6-8 page paper due to Gordon Rule. Post exam questions Word for Word. Great Guy!
Great teacher. Took the online State government. I did not think it would be interesting, but the discussions were awesome. I really learned a lot. He kept us moving, but it was a good steady pace. Not overwhelming. Very helpful and fair. I recommend his class.
Great class, awesome discussions. A lot of memorization which got a little old towards the end of the semester but he gives you the answers a week before the test. Makes you really understand how politics work. M-dog also knows where to party in orlando just ask him.
Prof. Muro is excellent. I took the State govt. online and it was really fun and interesting. He really helped me a lot. Great class.
I had Professor Muro for national government. He was a good teacher. We had class discussions that lasted all class long every time. Don't expect to get out too early. He gives you the answers to all the tests, all you need to do is memorize. You have one paper which is very interesting.
Mr.Muro is a great professor. He gives a awful amount of 5 part essays. This class has alot of controversal topics, so beware.
I would recommend Prof. Muro for on-line as that is what I took. Got an A, but did my work. If you engage in your posts and think about your respones in questions whether by posting or quiz's and essays, you will do fine. He is very open for discussion, and will answer questions anytime.
I took State government over the summer and thought it would be like going to hell. But it actually was fun and interesting. We had a cool group of people and Mr. Muro made it fun. I recommend it.
Fun and interesting. I really liked the class. Some stuff was hard, but he made it where I could understand. He was funny and nice and I learned alot of stuff. I recommend it.
Mr. Muro is a great teacher. The lectures are really good and the class discussions were great. Lots of controversy. Lots of essay quizes. You do learn a lot but you dont get out early.
He's a funny guy. Tests every other week. A LOT of memorization. He's picky about attendance: DON'T LEAVE ON BREAK. I got a low B. Overall a decent course, I learned a lot. Tough though, you must study.
I took this class based on the reviews and I have to say they are right on. I learned the most in this class of any class this semester. The quizzes were tough and you have to study, but it was interesting. Great video and audio clips too!!
Challenging and controversial. Discussions were lots of fun. He has high standards but is a cool guy. Great class!!
This teacher gives you the test atleast a week ahead of time to be prepared. Favorite class I've taken but this class does require time. 8 page paper a few hw and about 5 quizzes I recieved an A in the class
Hands down favorite teacher at BCC. This class requires alot of studying however very informative class. dont expect to leave early..but its worth it. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
Muro was an awesome professor. His lecture is pretty much answering next week's quiz questions. 8-10 page research paper. Final exam composed of selected questions from quizzes. I'd take him again no doubt.
Awesome professor. Very lively class with high learning.
This class was challenging. No curve, no late work, tons of assignments and the exam was unforgiving. These are not necessarily bad things. I learned so much it's unbelievable.
favorite teacher, hard class, he prepares you
Professor Muro is one of those rare, truly great teachers. His class isn't a cake walk, but I have learned more in his class than I can remember learning in any other class. He made a subject that, to some people, could be uninteresting and turned into real life work. Hard class but more than worth the effort.
Muro is an amazing teacher. His material isn't hard but it is a lot to remember for tests. He keeps it fun and entertaining.
Muro is an AMAZING professor! But beware to those who don't study and don't do their homework. He loves to bring fun subjects into the lesson itself and gives you all the answers to your quizzes before you get them. He is awesome! Definitly take him!
The way he teaches this class is wonderful. As long as you do the quick reading assignments and ask questions you'll be fine. His final paper isn't that bad, he gives you a link that has more that enough information to do it; with out extra resources. He's also really easy to talk to and friendly.
Excellent political science professor. Must have him.
Mr. Muro was an awesome professor! He was informative and always held my interest for the entire class. If I could, I would definitely take him again! He gives the answers to the tests the class before, so you only have to memorize information. I got a zero on a hw assignment that I forgot about and still got an A. Take this class to learn a lot!
Was one of the greatest professors I have ever had! He's seriously one of my most favorite and memorable teachers. His tests are easy and his ability to pull you into a subject is amazing. Also a great teaching atmosphere and I had alot of laughs in that class :) YOU ROCK, MR. MURO!!!!
Amazing teacher, does great job at clarifying difficult concepts. If you need a government class, this is your guy.
One of the better teachers at BCC. Class is very enjoyable. Give a GREAT review for his tests, if you study the review you will pass easily. He is also very helpfull, and wants his students to suceed. Pick him for a teacher!
Good teacher overall, definitely a hard grader. He almost never gave me the full 50 points, always 45, or 46. He's very picky and I worked very hard on all my assignments. You pretty much have to be very good at the subject to get good points.
Great teacher!!! Be prepared for plenty of memorization! There were 8 quizes and a final: the quizes are essay quizes-so know your material! He is very clear and precise on homework, grades, assignments, and quiz dates. P.S. he loves rock music haha..you will notice that
If you have no interest in government this is not the class for you. Tests are all essay format but you have exact question ahead of time same goes for the final, there is a research paper and project as well as several homework assignments. Muro is a very informed and enthusiastic teacher with good intentions
Mr. Muro is really into his class. You don't get out early and there are a good amount of homework assignments and a research paper. The quizzes and final are all long response but he gives you all the questions and answers the week before. Definitely take him if you want to learn. If you want a really easy A then pick someone else.
Great teacher, not a class for slackers.
Had him for both State and Local and American Natl Govt. Great teacher! Explains concepts well. Minimal homework. 5-7 page Research paper combined with a 6 Minute speech on that paper. Quizzes every other week, that are essay based, no multiple choice. Grades fairly easy. Got an A in both classes.
Had him for state/local, and national gov't. Really nice guy. Knows what he's talking about and explains himself well. Ive taken courses at 3 colleges and he is the best professor I have ever had.
he is an amazing teacher! knows what hes talkng about. very entertaining (coming from someone who isnt such a big fan of school) all u do in class is listen and answer a cupple questions (which is what the quiz is) he is very helpful! one of my favorite teachers!
MR. Muro Rocks!!! he is truly the best teacher i have had in my short tenure at BCC.. he knows his stuff and knows how to communicate with students and best of all knows how to teach! i recommend his class to anyone and everyone.. terrific teacher
Had American government over the summer. The class was fun and interesting. I learned more than in most other classes. You have to give a speech but it actually turned out okay
Excellent teacher. He knows what he's talking about and all you have to do is take notes and do the 1 homework assignment per chapter. The homework consists of reading a short article and typing up a 3 paragraph paper. The only big thing you have to do is a research paper that is 5 - 7 pages and then present a 6 minute long speech which isn't hard
A lot is happening in this class. Probably the most interesting class at BCC yet!
Mr Muro is a great professor. The class is made up of lecture with powerpoint and class discussions. Tests are in essay format but wasn't too bad. Wasn't as hard of a grader as I though he was going to be. Not too hard to earn a solid grade with a little work.
THE BEST
He makes you think and work for your grade, but this class is by far the best class I've taken at EFSC. He is so helpful. You do regularly write reviews about articles, which starts out your discussion on the next module, but they are super easy. You have to do a 5 minute speech, but that is super easy. This class requires a lot of participation.
This professor is super funny and really enthusiastic about politics and the way the government runs. I took two classes with him and I loved both! Take really good notes and be sure to do the homework though, as he won't give extra credit and there is an oral presentation. Overall, great professor!
Fun upbeat professor who is extremely passionate about what he's teaching. No textbook required so don't purchase it! He goes over everything prior to the tests so take notes and he posts all of his power points on Angel. Study outlines are given for every test and are identical to the test itself.
Honestly this class was a lot of work, but it was enjoyable. You actually have to put some time and effort to earn your grades. He was very attentive and responded to emails quicker than any professor i've ever had.
This class was challenging but really fun. Lectures were interesting and tons of class discussion. He likes hard rock music. Cool guy.
I absolutely LOVED Mr. Muro. This was the first college class that my brother took with me and Mr. Muro gave him a special exception to a seat. This is a very involved class and being yourself (with respect for others) is all you need besides paying attention and some study time. I will not say that it is an easy class in particular, work hard!
Amazing professor!!! He is really into politics and our government. Get ready to take really good notes and be sure to do the homework (Short and easy papers online), all tests are in essay format so studying is a must if you want to pass!!! There is a 6 minute oral presentation, but it's easy if you practice. Overall, great professor!
Mr. Muro's class topics were current, relative. Each week is alternating, one week students have a written assignment due, he following week students are required to study one or more articles, etc, make a discussion post and then reply to at least three students. The exam is exactly like the study guide. Good class, do the work equals passing.
Tests are word-for-word from his lectures and powerpoints. He's very interesting, caring, and funny. (Talk about classic rock with him, he'll remember you forever. No kidding.) Really cares about your grade and gives plenty of chances, just explain your situation. One big presentation on current events that makes or breaks your grade. NO BOOK.
Christopher Muro is the type of professor who gives you an article or two and then tells you to write 350-450 word assignments based off of the assigned articles. And 910 times, you will be doing this for 2 articles at a time that have a 3-4 day period to be turned in. Lecture notes? No. Textbook? no. Any effort from the professor? no.
This class was life-changing for me. I loved it so much I changed majors to Poli Sci. Fun and inspiring.
Professor Muro is an excellent professor. You must do your homework and attend class because there is a grade for participation. His lectures are easy to follow and his powerpoints have all the information you need to achieve an A in this course. He taught me a lot about politics. I would take it again.
I went into the class uninterested and came out knowing so much more than I had as well as acquiring a genuine interest in politics. He was very good at explaining just about everything (lots of current events) and would sometimes crack a joke or two to keep us awake. I'm into math, not history, but I enjoyed the class anyways.
Mr Muro is a great professor. If you don't do homework and don't show up, this class isn't for you. Other than than that, the assignments are clear cut, you have about a week to complete everything. A book is NOT needed, he's a firm believer in technology and posts all class notes and power points on canvas. This class is G rated, so keep it clean.
Always look forward to going to class. Tons of fun, lots of laughs, and learned so much. No book required. Do it.
I took Mr. Muro for National Government. I've always loved learning about politics, but he made it even more awesome. He's hilarious, always makes everyone feel involved, he rocks out in class, he's lenient on grading, and if you show up you'll do fine on his tests (which are about once every two weeks). You're missing out if you don't take him.
Definitely the best professor/teacher that I have ever had in my whole life. He helped me to get an internship and is helping with a letter of recommendation for another college. Highly recommend to take him, he makes government fun. He is the one that persuaded me to go into political science as a major.
I do not care for this class. Lectures run past class ends, sometimes with necessary information. There's a current events speech and essays which your grade kinda rests on. He plays lots of unnecessary rock music and can get distracted very easily. Also, you have to speak up on his class; part of your grade is participation. There is no textbook.
Professor Muro is a character, he jams out to rock during class, cracks jokes, and tells stories. With this he can get off topic easily, however, he gives good solid information, but almost all of his classes run over for his lectures are so long. If you are shy this class may not be for you as a part of your grade is class participation.
Honestly, just show up and do your work. He makes it insanely easy for you with his slides and his study guides. Be engaged! He likes civil, group discussion so he might call on you randomly. Be prepared. Mr. Muro's class is in the top tier, be a part of it! He's so smart and engaging that you'll want to be involved.
My least favorite online teacher at EFSC. When he uses the word minimum be prepared to do double the work if you want the best possible score. He gives zero feedback on mistakes.
I took his course online. There's a lot of writing, but it is good practice for research and development courses further down the line. I learned a good amount information from this class.
Muro's class was way too much work, especially for a community college. I also think it's so wrong to grade students on participation as it's a subjective thing to grade--I lost many points due to my lack of participation, simply because I'm an introvert. Everything you had to do for this class was online-coming to class was just a waste of time.
This professor made what could have been a very dry, dull topic quite interesting and exciting. I looked forward to going to every single class as it was always fun and challenging and I learned so much. Best discussions ever.
Lots of quizzes, be ready to memorize stuff. Not an easy A unless you are willing to spend time studying
This has been my favorite class at EFSC so far. Mr. Muro is so helpful in and out of class. He was very responsive to my needs and answered my emails faster than any other professor. He is smart and funny and the class is engaging. I learned so much and had fun.
Mr. Muro was sooo great, good class, but make sure that you study for all of the quizzes, and you will be fine, the speech project isnt too bad. ended with an A great teacher, good class.
The class and assignments in general are fairly easy, but Professor Muro is very conservative and he teaches conservative views in class. Overall grade consists of a short written assignment every other week, about 5 quizzes which are long response & presentation/written assignment. If you're looking for an easy A don't take this class.
I went in thinking this class was going to be like my high school government classes where I could catch up on sleep. This class was so energetic and interesting that I was always involved in activities and discussions. One of the best classes I have taken so far. He was available for office hours too for extra help. Great class.
This class was high-energy and fast-paced. There is a lot of video, music, discussion and debate. The prof is way smart and funny. I will take another class with him.
Lots of people seem to enjoy this class, just not me. The loud rock music gets a little bit... unsavory after a while, and you're expected to memorize a lot of tiny details for the tests (no multiple choice.) There's also a presentation worth a large chunk of your grade with little leniency on grading, so look out for that. Lots of debating.
Great Professor! Make government interesting and appealing by having random music play during lectures, plenty of youtube videos and funny articles. Semester project is very easy and quizes are very easy as long as you take notes and study the short powerpoints before the quiz. He keeps the class VERY engaged. Taking him again for national gov't.
There is no doubt that Muro is one of my very favorite professors at EFSC. I learned so much about politics, the economy, public speaking, and debating. The class met in the evening for over two hours but the time always went so fast. He is funny, uses a lot of technology in class, and answered my email very quickly. I really, really like him.
Professor Muro's class was one of the best classes I took this semester--there was always interesting discussion based upon the topic. There is one big project that is a big chunk of your grade (Gordon Rule) and a quiz for every chapter. Study the little stuff, it will be on the quiz. He is an excellent teacher and I learned so much.
I can't believe that this class was a fun and exciting as it was. I mean, it is government and politics yet the discussions and videos were awesome. This is the way every class should be and I highly recommend. He does not like texting or cussing in class but he was still cool and funny.
Prof. Muro was a decent professor. The class consisted of dropbox paper one week and a discussion the next. You had to be engaged in the discussions and respond numerous times for full credit. A few times the discussion turned into heated debates. He is clear with what he expects. No book was required he provides articles and information.
This was my first class at the college, and as a dual-enrolled student, I couldn't have been given a better experience. His class was great, the lectures easy to be interested by and the debates within the class even better. His tests can be a little challenging, but as long as you study, they shouldn't be too hard.
This class was just fun. I was actually sad the day of the final that it was already over. I learned so much, I just feel smarter and more mature and ready for the next level.
I learned so much from this class that I probably never would have learned in a high school class. He uses lots of videos and plays music during class. At times there is a heavy workload but you do learn from it. I highly recommend this class.
I can't describe how much I enjoyed this class! And I learned so much too! Professor Muro is a wonderful and fun professor. We had 3 or 4 assignments that weren't hard and they helped you learn. Pay attention in class and you're sure to get a good grade on the tests. Gives extra credit and plays rock music. Definitely the best professor I've had!
Like others have said, one discussion and one Dropbox assignment alternating weeks. Discussion boards require three responses with supporting external links. You know exactly what to expect from the beginning. Only down side was the feedback for each assignment was cumulative for every person and done by podcast.
Muro tries to make politics as interesting as possible to everyone. I took his night class and he would play rock music before his lectures which helped keep me awake. Homework is easy, usually just rewording an article he assigned. No multiple choice quizzes or tests at all. You have to study to do well but it's a good class if you want to learn
Muro is a great professor his has been my favorite class so far. His lectures are very interesting and he clearly puts a lot of work into them and the accompanying slides, which are filled with data and relevant information. He is very open and respectful to students with questions and the class was much more fun than difficult.
Requires you to do papers instead of tests which in my opinion, helps you learn easier. Great teacher overall and I would recommend him to anyone. Study for the final though because if you don't, you will not pass it. I learned a lot in his class though!
Awesome! Played rock music for introductions for admittedly boring material, but always managed to make it interesting. Professor Muro is a very funny individual and was open to debates during the class. Overall, his summer class was awesome! Just make sure to study and understand the material. His tests are written and make sure you're not late!
Such an awesome teacher, also has pretty good air guitar skills. He makes class discussions super fun and gets everyone involved. Discussions are usually led by students and interaction, so it's really up to you and your classmates to get everything you can out of the class. If you write down what he tells you, you will pass every test.
Took Professor Muro's American National Gov online summer class and enjoyed it immemsively. Each week there was a writing assignment or discussion but never both at the same time. The final was an essay style test but it was fairly easy as long as you study the study guide he provides. I can not recommend him enough!!
His lectures were engaging and he is a great moderator for open discussions. Extremely knowledgeable about the subject he teaches, I can't think of a single question I had that he could not answer thoroughly. I can't say enough about how organized he is as an instructor and how much that helped me throughout the semester.
This was one of my top three classes I have ever taken. I had perfect attendance because I didn't want to miss a day. Class was fun and interesting and his video clips and music are great. Tons of debate and discussion. Will take him again next semester.
Great professor. Really knowledgeable, and makes it easy to understand. Always tries to make it interesting with rock music and his "riffs." Has a great sense of humor. Really cracks down on his rules though, so follow his rules and you are good to go! Quizzes are just like the sheets provided online. No surprises. Really recommend.
Professor Muro is highly knowledgable in his field and does a wonderful job explaining any subject to his students. Participation is expected from every student. Excellent communicator, keeps Canvas updated regularly. No surprises, follows the syllabus. Quizzes are short-answer format. Highly recommend Professor Muro!
I've had my share of good and great professors at EFSC, but Mr. Muro takes the cake in greatness. If you want to be challenged and truly learn, take both of his government classes. You won't regret it, unless you just want the easy route! He provides extensive guidance and constant reminders to set you up for success. The rest is up to you.
I learned a lot in his class. He's a good instructor and gives 400-word assignments bi-weekly asking you to describes that week's topic. Besides all the writing, he's a good professor to take. Power points are hard to read but they get clearly explained.
Cool teacher. Some notes. Barely any homework. Tests are exactly the questions he posts on Canvas with the PowerPoint. Participation is a grade and you must talk frequently to get a perfect score, but you can get away without talking and still receive an A. Really interesting if you are into current events or politics.
I was not looking forward to this class because they are usually boring. This class was literally fun and interesting and I could not wait to go to class. This teacher really cares about what he is doing and is always prepared and very energetic. Class discussions were awesome and I learned more than in any other class I have taken.
There's a Discussion Board or DropBox assignment due every week. The assignment prompts are very clear and he is quick to answer any questions about them. There were never any surprise assignments but you can't work ahead of schedule. He follows his rubrics closely and uses Turnitin on DropBox papers. If you do the work right you will pass.
Fairly easy material but he has lots of assignments. Time consuming at times, lots of writing. Quizzes every couple of weeks that are short answer so you MUST study. He tells you what is on them at least. Its overall a good class just very boring and you have to work to get an a. 6 minute presentation you must do as well but its easy.
Get ready to rock and roll. Professor muro is a great teacher however if you do not enjoy government get ready to doodle. You dont have to listen in class to pass the tests with As, you just have to look through the notes and answer the questions given in his announcement. You MUST go to class. He is an amazing teacher and Im glad I took him.
Taking Prof. Muro for government was about the best decision I have ever made. After taking his class, I really felt that going to law school would be the right choice. He wrote me a letter of recommendation and I have been accepted to FSU School of Law for the fall. This class totally changed my life and career path. Mr. Muro rocks.
Prof. Muro was really great and is truly passionate about what he teaches. We had 6 quizzes (all written response) exactly like the study guide. A few online assignments but if you just follow the instructions and answer the questions you shouldn't get any less than a 100. The gordon rule project was a 6 minute presentation about 3 news topics
You will love him, he is so funny. Test are not hard if you take good notes.
By far the best professor I've ever had. I've taken both of the classes he's offered and they were both phenomenal. He's extremely helpful and understanding and he makes the class very interesting and involving.
Looking back on this class, I am VERY thankful for Prof. Muro. I took him in the Spring, then transferred to UCF as a legal studies major in the summer. His class SAVED MY BUTT! Without the materials I learned from him, my grade in my intro law class would have suffered a lot. He gave me a love for the Supreme Court & everything else law related!!
Although this class came with a significant workload, it was all for a purpose and taught me so much. I recommend his State & Local Government class to anyone. I really did learn a lot and when I pay out of pocket for a class that means everything. He is a fair grader and does NOT accept late work. He puts a lot of time and effort into teaching.
He always makes his lectures fun. I mean I still get tired of being there for 3 hours, but its worth it to only have it once a week.
Do not take class if shy
This class and professor were totally amazing. There is so much going on I never wanted to miss a day. Tons of discussions and debates, great videos and he is so funny. We even had elected people come to the class and I am now going to major in government. So worth it.
Loved this class!! Never had so much fun learning so much stuff. Awesome.
Professor Muro is a great teacher. This course requires weekly reading and engaging with other students through discussions about the material learned that week. I took this course on-line and learned so much about Florida State Government!
Overall good class, however the lectures always ran over. I would not recommend taking this class if you are a high school student who has to take the bus unless you enjoy missing your bus or almost missing your bus every day. Professor Muro wasn't a horrible teacher, he just tends to overestimate the time in class. You MUST participate to pass.
Great Teacher! Be prepared to spend plenty of time working on his weekly assignments. If you put in the effort it is awarded.
He keeps a proffesional relationship with his students. You get hw assignments some weeks but not every week. You have about 7 quizzes and they are short response but he gives you the questions ahead of time. You have to do work but it's an easy A.
Great teacher. You have to practice the material, if you dont, you wont pass.
Great professor definitely learn some stuff
Professor Muro gives a lot of reading assignments that you will need to then write about it. However, if you do the work, you can pass the class. He switches between discussion posts and turned in assignments. Both are equally important and pretty much the same type of assignment. He cares that his students pass and he will help you get there.
Absolutely terrible professor and I wouldn't recommend him to anybody. His assignments take forever, he's very arrogant and overall horrible teacher.
This class was my favorite of my entire college experience. I learned about politics and law and even got an internship from connections I made in the class. And Mr. Muro is so funny. I have just started law school and this class started it all for me.
Does not the quality of the content, but the ability to follow rules he seems to come up with out of no where. After a few weeks of hits or misses on assignments it become easy to know what he wants, but he makes up things not listed in his rubric. You'll get 40/50 points for singular mistake based on a rule he never mentioned.
This was a class that I actually enjoyed. The debates were super interesting and his lectures always drew me in. Loved the videos and his music and he made it a fun environment. I never cared about government but I liked learning about it. A great college experience.
I took him for State & Local Government and American National Government. Each week there is a discussion or a dropbox assignment. I liked taking his class online because I knew what I needed to do to get an A. The assignments can take a bit to complete so beware.
Mr. Muro was awesome! Great lectures that were engaging and cool, along with an occasional air guitar solo really made this class a highlight of the semester!
Mr. Muro loves rock music and plays it all the time in class. Short essays were assigned every other week or so. Everyone was required to do a speech on recent events. After every section, there was a test. He doesn't offer extra credit. If you don't get an "A" in one part of class then you can't get an "A" in the class. PARTICIPATE!
A very arrogant person who likes to take up class time to do an air guitar solo or rant about "music these days". Easy grade at the very least, you just have to participate in class conversation a little bit as that is graded. I would not recommend this professor, though.
Totally my favorite class ever at EFSC. Learned so much and had a great time every class period. Not one class disappointed. Awesome dude.
Super arrogant, doesn't teach the subject properly and misses key points to the topics he brings up and why they are a problem or why they work. Interrupts class to rant about "kids these days" and how the 80s was better. Would NOT recommend to take his class.
Professor Muro was excellent at stimulating conversation. I've never been in a class where I actually wanted to raise my hand to engage in the discussions. You will have to do one presentation but he gives you all the help you need. Totally recommend . . . no joke!
Arrogant professor that likes to waste class time for air guitar solos and to rant about how the 80s were better, and the whole "kids these days" shtick. "You kids these days and your rap music, and Billie 'Eyelash'." Likes to force his conservative views on the class instead of teaching the subject properly from a non-partisan POV.
This class was in my top three of all time in college. Debates in class were always intense and amusing. Super fun.
Terrible prof, takes a long time to grade an assignment, likes to waste class time to rant about "kids these days", and have really long air guitar solos, along with being super arrogant and close-minded. I don't recommend anyone take this class.
Great Professor even if you are not interested in politics his class is very important and always is really interesting. He is very smart and very funny guy.
I first took Professor Muro's class a year ago for state and local government. The class was wonderful, every moment was enjoyable and he made the subject interesting and engaging. I wish that I could live it all again.
I had to write more papers for this class than for both my compostition classes combined. It consists of reviewing several articles a week with hundreds of words. In the class you have to stay the entire time and sometimes go over time. Super strict rules. The whole point of night classes are that the students have other responsibilities at home.
Because of this class, I am now going to law school. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into our lessons. Thanks for all you do! Rock on!
This class was very interesting! I wish I got to meet Professor Muro but this was an online class. There is a lot of work in this class, but it is all easy and you end up learning a lot.
If you do your work and do it well, this class will be nice. Super great the way it is set up because you learn about real things going on in the government rather than just memorizing and regurgitating from a textbook.
This professor uses TurnItIn, a horrible product to grade your originality. It doesn't focus on the article you're writing about, to make sure you're not just copying it, it uses papers submitted by other students! How are a group of students supposed to write about the same article and NOT have similar comments? Beware...
Muro is one of those teachers who make me want to be a teacher. He is passionate about the subject and made me passionate about it. It was an honor to be your student!
this class was easy, just time consuming. As long as you follow the instructions provided with the assignments, you will pass with an A. The midterm was easy, as well as the final. Dont get a textbook- save your money its only recommended not required. My average was a 93% at the end of the semester.
I really enjoyed this class and did learn a lot. It was fun to review the articles and learn more about the government through current events, things that were relevant to today. Love the fact that there was no text book required, all the material was provided!
I took it online and his class was a lot of work but it was not too difficult. He does give feedback on your work and he does not grade too hard. As long as you meet the requirements you will get a 100. I had no proctored exams and he will let you know what you got points off for if you do.
His lectures were amazing. His tests were the same questions that were on the review. Very funny, and makes you want to learn government. Participation is key, it will help you pass. 1 presentation, not hard. If you are going to be late, let him know asap.
Awesome teacher. 100% recommend
Awesome professor! The tests are like written vocabulary tests directly from his PPTs. However, you have to talk and participate in class, or else you will fail. Easy A, if you at least attempt.
Mr. Muro was a good teacher, his course load was super heavy and just not needed, he doesn't care that we work full time jobs, he wants 800 word essays due every other week. it's crazy! I got an "A" but I would never take him again,
He had us writing a 800 word paper basically every week it was stressful and all class work is due at 6pm instead of 11:59pm for no reason even though its suppose to be live online but he does everything online. Which would be fine if he actually treated it like an online class not a in person one. Save your tuition, your time and your breath.
Mr Muro was for sure one of the best professors I have had at Eastern Florida. His expectations were very clear and he answered emails in like two hours. Super responsive. He challenged me and made me a better student. I now feel like I am ready to go to FSU and crush it!
All of the assignments were relevant to current events and were very easy to complete.
Real good class. Highly recommend taking to learn about government.
Professor is very intelligent, well-mannered, and knowledgeable. And I heard a lot of good things about him from other professors.
Professor Muro guides you to the profoundly important realization of the significance of local government, takes it seriously yet makes it fun, and is perfectly clear throughout. I would and wish I could take a class of his every semester, and I'm not even going for a degree anymore.
I was dreading a government class. I was totally wrong. Muro is an awesome professor. I looked forward to class and was engaged in the discussion. Yes
Mr. Muro is one of the best teachers I have every had. He is funny, intelligent, and goes the extra mile for his students. He thoroughly understands his subject and really enjoys teaching it. He is not afraid to debate his students and let them debate each other. I would take him again and highly recommend his class.
His politics are those of a teenage boy that read half of an Ayn Rand book summary on wikipedia. Apparently, the ability to regurgitate Tucker Carlson talking points qualifies you to be an EFSC prof? Do the writing and you'll get an A, easiest class I've ever taken.
He had a dropbox assignment (short essay format) every other week and a discussion board the weeks the others. Very clear rubric, if followed very easy A. Expects 75% originality on dropbox assignments and support links for replies on dbs. Initial posting for db is required before due date (so students have time to reply).
I took this professor due to these reviews, he is horrible. DOES NOT COMMUNICATE. DOES NOT RESPOND TO MESSAGES. Corrupted files issue is a huge problem. Used two different formats both corrupted, never answered on what format he wanted. Withdrew due to two 0's and no response or clear instructions in syllabus of what he wanted!
A lot of papers to write but the grading criteria is clear, rare I got anything less than a 100. Lenient grader. Provides bonus points during holidays. Final exam is just another essay, not a single test/quiz in the class. Takes time to do the essays but if you do them, you'll get an A for sure. The Professor seems like a nice guy, I recommend.
I took Mr. Muro's hybrid class, so we only met every other week. He would lecture in class, I actually learned a lot. Only had one assignment a week, however, they were usually time consuming. He is strict on the credibility score of your drop box assignments so make sure is 25% or below. Other than that, I enjoyed his class!
This was a challenging, yet rewarding course, discussion boards were at times fun and engaging, but the real difficulty came from some of the assignments. You're going to have to write a lot of reviews and synopses of articles and videos. Final exams was just 5 easier writing assignments in one paper. Would take this class again 100%.
Eager for every class, I was shocked to find myself disappointed whenever he had to cancel or cut it short. Half of class is connecting the principles we learn to current events and politics, always keeping it fresh. Alternates each week between easy writing and DBs, the latter of which included fun yet civil debate. No real tests. Take the class!
Professor Muro was a really great professor. He was easy going and had fairly simple assignments each week. It was either a discussion board or a dropbox assignment (usually like a couple paragraphs), both of which basically were you summarizing an article. A lot of the content was interesting and had to do with current events. There were no tests.
The first day I was dreading it, the second day I couldn't get enough. Ended up being my favorite class. Funny, interesting, lots of debate and discussions. Super cool and I learned more in this class than my other three classes combined.
Professor Muro provided an organized class that was made up of one discussion board or small essay each week. He responded to e-mails quickly and kept up with grades. However, he didn't teach anything about the actual structure of the government. The class was an easy A, but if you want to learn anything about the government, don't take his class.
This was a great course! I learned a ton of new information, and my knowledge of our economic and political system has been taken to the next level! I really got the most out of this class and will take other classes that he teaches.
This was the best online class I have ever taken. The amount of work could be challenging, but its not so bad if you create a schedule. The discussions were so interesting that I found myself spending more time than was required debating other students. Didn't have to buy a book, he answered emails right away and gave comments on the grades.
I ended up picking this professor because of the reviews and I regretted it. He shouldn't be teaching government, he needs to be an English professor. It was nothing but difficult papers. He took points off but wouldn't tell you why.
Such a great class. There is a steady volume of homework, but the assignments are actually interesting and relevant to government. But beware, this class requires a lot of participation and discussion and it can get very controversial at times. He does not shy away from bringing up big issues.
Loved this professor. Took him in Fall of 2019, and loved his class. I'm not someone who finds politics all that interesting, but loved his lectures. Super passionate about what he teaches and also shows a lot of experience. Tests were easy as long as you reviewed his notes and only had one big project during the term, which wasn't that bad
Class is an easy A, pretty sure he doesn't even read the assignments. The only thing is that he doesn't like it when you leave class/come late (he will let you but you have to ask). Homework is lengthy discussion posts and dropbox assignments but they are pretty easy. He is pretty entertaining in class and seems passionate about the subject.
10/10 recommend. Very easy class minimum effort will get you an A and you will probably learn a lot if you pay attention to lectures. No tests about 1 hour hw (discussion one week short essay the next and then just alternate.
Professor Muro's American National Government class was an easy A. Each week you have a discussion bored assignment and need to respond to three other classmates posts or a dropbox assignment. There is a lot of typing essays so be prepared to type. Other than the papers the class is easy and professor Muro is great.
This class consisted of a weekly assignment, either a discussion or an essay assignment. In the discussions you had to respond to three people, which seems like a lot, but there is no word count which was nice. Follow the rubric and you'll be fine.
I was prepared for a regular history class, instead I got an extra writing class. I was actually able to practice what I was learning in Writing 2 and apply it to the many papers that were assigned.. Not a class for someone who cant write well, sometimes you were doing over 1000+ words on just one assignment that week, on top of the other work.
Overall in enjoyed this class. Prof. Muro was very engaging in his lectures. It is a lot of papers, so don't take this class if you are afraid to write. The only thing I found confusing was we were never tested on anything we learned in class so I question the mandatory attendance.
This class was life changing. I had no idea what real politics was about until I took this class. My major just changed to political science. This class was interesting and Mr. Muro is so funny. No textbook used, instead he assigns interesting articles. There is a good amount of reading, writing, and discussions.
I took Professor Muro's class in Fall of '22 and was hybrid. He was awsome, had some good humor plus he played rock music whenever we first started class. The assignments weren't super hard, simple and easy small discussion boards and essay. It was such a pleasure to take his class, we had discussable topics and review on certain topics.
This was my best class of the semester. It hard to believe how much I learned in this class and it was actually fun. I am not usually that interested in classes that are not in my area that I want to study, but I can say that I am into politics and law now. Totally recommend. Cool guy, lots of laughs.
POS 2041 American Government I loved taking this class! He's super chill and knowledgeable in political science and the American government; you can ask him anything. All of us could tell he really enjoys teaching! As long as you participate and do your absolute best on the online weekly reading assignments, you'll get a good grade in his class!
Prof Muro is seriously the best, I hate writing and history and was scared to go in this class but he seriously is the best and made this class actually so fun and enjoyable and does not grade harshly at all, he is the best TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not supposed to be another writing class. The discussion boards and papers given on a weekly basis are way too lengthy. He is a self proclaimed narcissist who will not give you credit for attendence if you leave the class to use the restroom! The way that he treats the assignments takes away from the possible joy of actually learning!
Don't believe any of the other post. This class requires at at least 600-1000 word papers every week. I thought this was going to be about learning the political system but this guy wants a writing class! Most of the other ratings for him look like he has written them himself to trick young students. Please stay away from this professor!
Professor Muro is a good teacher and provides all texts for assignments. The assignments were interesting and informative. He is tough on grading and expects alot of discussion from his students. I would certainly take another class that he teaches.
Professor Muro was great, there is a fair amount of writing for any of his assignments. Discussions and written assignment alternate every week. Final isn't too difficult; the previous course prepares you for it. Do not procrastinate He uses all of his class time, but he fills it with useful course information. Be sure to participate in class.
The class itself is okay. He won't let you go to the bathroom during class or he'll count you absent, so make sure to go beforehand. I also tried to pull my laptop out to take notes because I type quicker than I can write, but he doesn't allow any electronics in his class. Be warned that this isn't going to be the most fun class you'll take.
I wish that I hadn't trusted the reviews on this professor because they are dead wrong. Way to many papers to write for a Poly Sci class. His grading on papers is vague(takes points off without explanation). He is not hilarious and I feel like he bullied us, wouldn't let us go to bathroom or use our computers for note taking. Don't believe reviews
Professor Muro was fantastic! There's a lot of writing and he's strict on remembering details but he gives you the questions and answers and he provides all of the materials! He's very fair and keeps class interesting. The discussions were the best of any class I have taken.
Great professor! Very strict rules to follow for writing but easy to pick up. Gives good feedback on writing and cares about your success.
All these negative reviews about Professor Muro aren't really true. He assigns a lot of papers, but they're super easy to complete if you do little chunks of it throughout the week it's assigned. I thought he was pretty funny, he hit a high note in class once. If you're not good at writing papers, don't take this class or you will be miserable.
Some of the reviews aren't really true. Everyday is a lecture, but sometimes there is classwork. He's quite funny and you notice he takes pride in his job. If you aren't good at writing papers DON'T TAKE or you will want to end it. He assigns papers every week. If you do chunks of the papers during the week, you'll be fine.
Impossible. This class met twice per week and I couldn't wait until the next class. So interesting and fun but totally professional at the same time. The best teacher I've ever had. There is an assignment almost every week but it prepares you for the topics for that week. Lots of discussions so be prepared to talk in class.
He is so funny and chill. As long as you do the weekly assignments you will be fine. Also, he does not believe in extra credit.
Very picky about MLA
Every week was a lot of writing and he graded it very hard, like 20% off if you didn't have exact MLA formatting. This course is for "civic literacy" and I think he is confusing that with writing abilities. This course has more writing than the english courses I have taken here.
Very Good Guy Yes Love Federalism and America and Air Guitar
I was not looking forward to taking a government class, but this was one of the best I've taken at EFSC. The work is challenging, but he really makes it fun and interesting. The class discussions were amazing with lots of laughs. I was sad to see the semester come to an end.
He is strict on MLA but once you do the first assignment you will get how he wants it done and from there the class is a breeze. He switched between papers and discussions boards per week, but the material it was on was very interesting and informative, if I could I would take the class again. Great professor!
Professor Muro is tough, but he is a great teacher. He always answers any questions you give him very quickly. I enjoyed taking his course and being his student, and I feel like I learned a lot in this class. He has some interesting classroom rules, but overall, he is a wonderful professor. I am never scared to ask a question in his class.
Professor Muro's course was excellent. Very easily one of the best online courses I have taken. The workload per week was fair and the class lacked "busy work" which is much appreciated. The assignments were fair in length but what impressed me was his ability to tie in relevant current events that create real discussion and interest. Great course.
He really made the whole semester a lot of fun. His way of teaching made learning and understanding so much more enjoyable. Yes, the class and the concepts were great. His jokes and music created a cool and comfortable environment. He cared about every student's well being, and was interested in everyone's success. A great professor.
Great Professor, he comes off as strict in the first week but as the class progresses you could tell he really cares about his students and is passionate about the subject he teaches.
He is probably one of the best professors that I've taken at Easter Florida so far. He may come off as a bit strict, but if you consistently do the homework you'll get and A+.
The class is easy but tedious. Read this article and summarize or watch this video and summarize. While it was not difficult, it would have been nice to have a variety. Such as, here is a topic, research and compose an essay on it. The one time I needed assistance, he did not respond in a timely manner and was not very helpful when he did.
This class was a hybrid course and it was really fun. The topics and discussions were intense but everyone got along well. It was surprising with all the controversial topics, but he runs a tight ship. There is a lot of online homework but the work was manageable. I definitely recommend for government class.
I am bummed the semester is over. Such an interesting and fun class with awesome discussions. Lots of laughs and intense topics. Wish every class was like his.
His passion for the subject makes the class so enjoyable. His lectures are long but again, he makes it engaging and relates everything to the real world and how things affect us. He's open and respectful to everyone's opinions and encourages conversation about touchy topics to see different viewpoints. Hybrid class, met once every other week.
Mr. Muro is a great teacher and is passionate about his work. There's lots of homework in his class though. There is a Dropbox assignment or a discussion board due every Sunday the whole semester. It's a large course load but if you get everything done and follow the rubric you'll get hundreds on every assignment. The final is easy if you memorize.
Mr. Muro was great. Although, this class is self explanatory and he picks great resources for you to use. You rotate between Discussion Boards, and Essay's every week. I would highly recommend him to anyone. All you have to do is read and know how to write a paper. Way better than memorizing dates for another history class.
Professor Muro was an excellent professor. I took him for an online American Government and it was the most enjoyable of the semester. He encouraged critical thinking and provided feedback, which is necessary for learning. I appreciated having him this semester. I highly recommended his class.
He was amazing. My favorite part about his class is whenever a democratic would try to say something crazy he would put them in their place. He is very knowledgeable and cares a lot about what he does. Participation and attendance are a must. Lecture heavy, but they are not ordinary lectures. He makes lectures fun and interesting.
***GET READY TO WRITE!*** You will have a essay or a discussion board due every week. They have word minimums (somewhat lengthy) and is run through TurnItIn, so forget about using AI. No other work is done. Its easy to get an A if you're ready to work for it. Its not quite my style of learning but is what it is.
He was great! There was either a Dropbox or discussion board every week and as long as you follow the rubric and assignment description you will learn a lot and get a good grade.
Don't take this class if you have trouble with deadlines. Everything was due at either six or nine at night and on a random weekday. So. Much. Writing. Honestly, this was one of my least favorite classes I've ever taken. If you have any life outside of college this is not a class for you. Good lectures though. The assignments are what gets you.
He really cooks.
