He is so beloved by most of his students because his demeanor, method of teaching, grading standards and rigor of course presentation are at the tenth or eleventh grade level. He would best be served working only in a high school or in the few regrettable remedial courses offered by the mathematics department.

The previous comments are under serious suspicion (they sound like they are from some other (jealous) math prof...what kind of calc student questions a prof's RIGOUR?!?). I don't think caring about how his students do means his methods are at a "high school" level...I think it means he's a great teacher (not some aloof jerk).

Single handedly made up for all the poor excuses for teachers I've encountered in my earlier math classes. Due to his clarity and inborn teaching abilities, you might feel like you're not learning much("how can it be this easy!?") Till you start knocking back final exam problems like they were basic algebra. TAKE HIM!

He was the best teacher I have ever had. He teachers to every student and will explain in multiple ways until everyone understands. Yeah he does give a lot of homework but the homework is very helpful. The quizzes are easy and usually only a few questions. I LOVED THIS CLASS!!!!

Chris is great teacher and fairly funny guy. His teaching is very straight forward, as he tries not to confuse, but it will leave you wanting more. The class is easy and he is constantly preparing you for the final. He assigns lengthy hw assignments, but they proved to be very beneficial.

Easily the best professor for Mathematics that I've ever had. I took him for pre-calc and now have him for calc I. I barely skated by in my math courses in high school with C's. Now I'm hammering out Calculus I material with ease. This guy has shown me not only CAN I do math, but I'm actually good at it! I would recommend Chris to anyone!

The best math instructor I EVER had and I took 1800 with him a year ago! Everything was so clear and math started to become really easy. He explains things clearly and is really nice. Will help you as much as he can. Attendance to the class is not mandatory in ESP but it's definitely recommended cause otherwise you'll be lost.

Chris is such a nice guy! He really breaks everything down but if you are confused, ask your question or else he will move on! Quizzes are given every Friday! He is very good with office hours and texts back fast if you have a question. He likes to randomly pick on students to answer questions. Tests arent that hard, the final VERY HARD.

Mr. Nazelli is a great professor, he is not only extremely patient; but he is also always available during office hours. if you ever need more clarification, I highly recommend going to them. I basically lived there and did very well in the class. His tests are "hard" but if you know the material and do your part you will pass with flying colors.

Nazelli is a really great professor. Just show up, take notes and you can pass. He knows the material and knows how to explain it. The only thing that sucked was the class was made up of exams and quizzes. There are no extra credit opportunities. But his exams are not hard at all. And he REALLY prepares you for the final.

I took Nazelli's MAT 1800 in the mid-2000s and he was the best teacher that I've ever had. My only complaint was that he didn't teach Calc the following semester, which I could have great benefited from. He's very enthusiastic, motivating, and simply a great teacher. Do your homework to supplement your learning and appreciate his teachings.

Chris is a great teacher and as long as you go to class and take notes you will do fine. His lectures are easy to understand and not boring at all. The only downfall is that his quizzes are 10 minutes and they're a bit challenging to solve in 10 minutes. Overall Chris is a great guy and he really cares about his students success. Hands down the best math professor I have ever had. The material was very difficult but Chris was able to teach it in the most simplistic way. Quizzes are short and easy but tests are challenging. If you pay attention in class you'll easily get a good grade. If you are taking Calculus I and see his class available. I would strongly recommend it

Definitely would recommend taking his class if you have never taken calculus before. He answers every question and spends a lot of time going in depth on the proofs and reasoning behind why each concept works the way it does. Finish homework ahead of time, pay attention in class, ask questions, and it should be a breeze.

This class was great. Chris went into detail about everything and always made sure that you were succeeding and that your questions were answered. The class is small which means you have to participate (which was so scary for me going in) but he makes it a great environment where participating comes naturally!

Chris is an absolutely stellar professor that legitimately cares about your performance in his course. If you're a committed ed. major & care about your future success in the classroom, taking his class is one of the best moves you can make. Lecture notes are key to passing quizzes/ tests (which are written-response), so don't skip class!

Chris is honestly one of the best professors at WSU. I had him for Honors Calculus 1, and I can tell you for certain he made this class fairly easy. I took this course for Fall of 2020 during COVID, so the class was online. You are required to come to class, which was 3 days a week. Because it is an honors course you will have a quiz every Friday.

Professor Nazelli was the best! I recommend taking him! Very few tests and quizzes, which are not too difficult. If you pay attention in class and take good notes you will be fine. If you ever have a question he will always answer and make sure you understand. Very caring professor!

Solid choice. His lectures were very planned and organized plus appealing to the eyes. He is understandable when explaning complex concepts. The term was rushed so every week be prepare for a quiz. Class was naturally difficult but I was glad Dr. Nazelli was my professor. Do the study guides, they naturally prepare you for the exam.

There needs to be a statue of this man made out of gold in front of the wayne state math department. Amazing teacher with such clear explanations. Take him if you have the chance to, even tho its through ESP and you have to do the workshop. Its almost a guaranteed A if you put in the work.

This professor loves to teach. No matter how many questions we asked or how many times he had to explain the same thing, he tried his best to help us. Class didn't seem that mandatory (meaning you wouldn't get penalized for not attending), but its a good idea to attend or you'll get behind. Class was always fun and enjoyable.

Great professor overall, but he has no tolerance for lateness. If you are one second late for class, you won't be let in. And if you are one second late to submitting homework, you won't receive any credit for it. He also assigns a lot of homework.

Although class is not really mandatory if you skip you will most likely be lost. Weekly homework but get 100% if you do it, journals that are like every other week. Take home quizzes like twice a month and two exams. He does call on people and have people go up to the board to show how to do problems.

great teacher. can tell he loves what he does. very helpful. have a journal every other week on the week we don't have a journal there is a homework assignment. an online quiz like 1-2 times a month. with the journal you work with your table group or he puts you into groups. he calls on people if nobody participates.

He was always available to students through email, office hours, and even late night zoom sessions. He's always excited to dig into math with students, showing you why things work from one end to the other. I'd recommend for anyone.

Great professor. Super nice and great at teaching too. If you show up to class, take notes, and do the homework it's impossible to fail. If you have any trouble you can go to his office hours and he is super helpful and nice. Any quiz or exam taken in class, he gave us the option to correct the mistakes at home to make up some points.
