Neck is amazing and takes a pretty easy topic & makes the class interesting. Go to class and take notes bc tests will reflect his lectures. Only 4 tests make up your grade so don't bomb one. If you want to save $, do the 2 wk free txtbk trial & copy/paste all the vocab into a word doc. The vocab is the other half of the tests. Easy class & fun prof
He makes the class so interesting! You will never be bored during any lectures and he makes you want to pay attention to what he's teaching. He really cares about you and doesn't make the tests impossible. He tells you exactly what to study for every test and all you really have to do is show up and listen to his lectures and you'll get A's.
By far the best professor I've ever had at ASU because he teaches in a way that keeps you interested and doesn't just read off powerpoint slides. He taught me so much about not only management but about life and I think that is extremely important in a college class. I wish he could be my personal life coach so I could continue to learn from him.
If you need to take MGT TAKE IT WITH NECK! He is such a great professor and he really shows that he's genuine about teaching management. I would highly recommend to buy the books (both books)and attending his lectures. If you do those two things, this class should be an extremely easy A! Also he's tests are super straightforward.
Neck is a great teacher. He brings in guest speakers who are so fun to listen to. Most tests only have vocab words and lecture content on them, and if you take notes and pay attention, it's super easy. Go to class because he gives you answers.
Great professor!
Awesome professor! Gives great lectures and makes class interesting. Make sure to read the textbooks and take notes on the lectures to do well on the four tests.
By far my favorite professor at ASU. Class is pretty easy if you put in a little effort. Mostly memorizing vocabulary. Fantastic lectures!
Neck is enthusiastic in class and makes coming enjoyable. The exams are a little annoying since they're based 50% off of vocabulary from the book and 50% from examples given in class. Save yourself the money and use the free e-book trial, just take screenshots of the key term pages.
Attended every class and read every Chapter of the textbook. His tests seem easy but he puts multiple similar answers to trick you. This class Felt like a easy A or B+ yet i got low Cs on every Test and somehow failed the final which was the simplest test of them all. Entertaining Lecture but not worth lowering GPA recommend taking online instead.
This is the first time I have genuinely enjoyed going to class and its all because of Neck. so inspiring and makes learning fun. clearly cares for his students and their futures. shows movie clips so its easy to remember the material & apply it to real life. Go to class and take good notes. TAKE THIS TEACHER NO MATTER WHAT!!!!
Best lectures I've ever had in a 300+ student class. Brings in great guest speakers and uses memorable video clips to help understand the different concepts. Never had a boring class. 4 tests (24% of grade each) and 2 research credits (4% of grade). Tests are a breeze if you go to lecture and learn the vocab from the textbook.
Go to class, write the slides word for word and take notes of extra things he says. He doesn't post lectures online either. Study vocabulary from the big book and take the online quizzes on Wiley, some questions are word for word. For the small book, skim through and remember names.
Neck is awesome! Besides being one of the funniest professors at ASU, his class is easy and the exams are, too. If you come to class and read the vocabulary in the book, you will get an A for sure. He tests about examples in class, so while it isn't mandatory to attend, show up for easy points on exams. DEFINITELY TAKE HIM.
I'm so glad I took this class with Neck! This course was both interesting and engaging so I was always motivated to come. He started offering in-class quizzes this semester so that your grade is based off more than just exams. Quizzes are just based on vocab words in the textbook, but you still have to read other content-based chapters for exams
Dr. Neck is by far my favorite teacher at ASU. His material is very laid out and tells you exactly what to study for his test. Class is optional, but I honestly hate missing his classes. Best teacher ever!!
No homework. Attend every lecture, as the exams and quizzes are your only determinants of your grade. Exams correlate with his lectures, and quizzes are based of vocabulary words from the book. This class is an easy A.
So inspirational! His lectures make you want to attend because you never know what funny or inspirational thing you'll miss if you ditch. Exams are straightforward. Know the vocab and pay attention is class, you'll be fine. His textbooks are worth reading, not just for class, for life. Solid info on how to be a more efficient and productive person.
The only class in college I have LOVED and enjoyed going to everyday. All his lectures are applicable to everyday life and will really help me when I graduate/apply myself in the real world. He makes class fun and entertaining, and teaches you more than just management. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS ONLINE, its much more fun and easier in person.
Attendance is very important because he does not post slides or any other materials covered on Canvas. He clearly explains what needs to be done to succeed in his class. Although he is lecture heavy, his lectures are very engaging and interesting. So far one of the best professors I've taken, ever.
He is my favorite professor at ASU. You should take him for MGT 300!
Dr. Neck is my favorite professor I have had at ASU yet. He came to class every d in a good mood, and his lectures were always interesting. The way he taught just made the class interesting. He showed movie clips that related to topics at hand, and sometimes he would bring students up for examples. Just study for the quizzes and exams to do well.
Professor Neck is by far one of my favorite, if not my favorite, professor's I've had yet. His lectures are inspirational, and he really makes you think about things outside of the classroom. Exams are 50% lecture, 50% vocab - get the textbook, all the definitions are in there, and GO TO CLASS! He will tell you everything that you/ll need to know!
Neck's class is really easy to get A. As long as you attend every class, it will be easy to take those quiz or exam. His class is also interesting and inspiring. You can absolutely learn useful stuff and get an easy A by taking this class.
Best professor I've had so far. Really fun and caring guy who is passionate about his material. There are only a couple grades in this class so doing well on exams is important. I thought it was easy to succeed in this class.
Dr. Neck is seriously one of the best professors I've had while in college. Take this class, go to class, and get more than just a grade out of it. He cares about his students and he is just all around a good person. Ontop of that, its an easy class and if you attend and do what he asks, you can easily get an A!
If you show up to class, you'll pass no problem. Slides are NOT posted online so you need to show up to know what is going on. The content itself is pretty simple though and Neck does a great job of teaching it.
Great professor. Gives out knowledgable information. Class was pretty easy if you showed up to class and took notes. His exams were based on vocab, in-class notes, and reading from the book. pretty easy A
Dr. Neck is the absolute man. One of the only teachers at ASU who actually presents real life applicable material and actually cares about students. You could not ask for a better professor. Dr Neck if you see this thank you for making me a better person and student. Take him take him take him.
Neck is an amazing professor. The class is graded off of 4 vocab quizzes (10 questions, lowest dropped) 4 exams and 3 research credits. The exams are 50% vocab and 50% lecture material. The exam questions are extremely straight forward. The lectures are funny and applicable to real life. Show up to class and you should easily be able to pass
Professor Neck is the best professor you can take for MGT300. Really easy class if you pay attention to the lectures-- which are amazing-- and take proper notes. He has 4 exams and 4 quizzes (one quiz will be dropped) and they are all fairly easy. They are composed of lecture material and terms from the book so make sure to study those.
Neck's lectures are a gem--full of high energy and appreciation for the world. The class is an easy A; study quizlets of his vocab, read his self-leadership chapters, and know his lectures. That's really the only studying you need to do. The man is an open book and gives you his # in case you have any questions. Use him as a resource.
TAKE THIS CLASS. So easy, not stressful. No homework, only 3 mini in-class vocab quizzes (lowest is dropped), 4 exams (including final), and lots of fun in-class videos. He's entertaining and knowledgable. This class is refreshing.
I don't understand why doesn't he have a 5/5 on here. He is the best professor I have had in my three years at ASU. His classes could be inspirational Ted talks. 4 exams (noncumulative final), few quizzes, research credit. He does not post material so go to class (you will want to go to class). He is amazing, wish I had him for more classes
I can see how people would like Prof Neck, but the class was very common sense and not very engaging. Everything was like a motivational quote, but unfortunately lacked depth for the most part. Exams are just vocab, select chapters, and class lecture. Do all those and its an easy A. Did not put much effort at all.
His lectures are absolutely fantastic. One of the few classes I actually looked forward to attending and got me going early in the morning. Quizzes and Tests are the majority of the final grade you'll receive in the class. Attend lecture, take notes, study the vocab, and read the few modules that are assigned and you'll leave a changed man/woman.
Life changing. This guy brings an attitude to class everyday that attracts winners to him. Great professor if you listen in class you will pass! Plus he gives out red bull and snacks during class. Do whatever you have yo to Take neck. He is like a book that will change your life
Neck is a great professor who cares a lot about his students. Although this course consists of many students, he always responded to students who need help. There is no homework besides reading specific chapters in order to prepare for the test. The test consists of lectures, key terms, and readings. Easy A if you go to class and get involved.
No homework or assignments so make sure you do really well on quizzes and exams. He is an excellent teacher - take what he says to heart. He cares more about you as a person than just as a student. One of my favorite professors!
One of the best professors I've ever had! His lectures are so entertaining and funny, and he relates everything to the real world. His exams are part lecture, part vocab, and a chapter or 2 from the book, so lectures are super important to go to. If you get the chance, TAKE HIM!!
This class was extremely helpful and I actually learned a lot! Couldnt recommend him and this class enough. If you dont like going to class at all though, this isnt for you because it is important you go to class. Super easy class though overall, the quizzes are no brainers
Dr. Neck was an amazing teacher, I recommend that everyone takes his class. He speaks clearly and with confidence. His lectures aren't mandatory, but a lot of the questions on his test are based on the lectures and he doesn't post his slides online. You do need to read the textbook but it is an easy read. This was my favorite class I've taken!
Professor Neck was a great lecturer and it was obvious that he's done this for many years. His lectures are scripted but very entertaining. Make sure to go to class! He includes a lot of lecture material in his tests. He is not trying to trick you on exams and he is very accessible outside of class through email and text.
Christopher Neck is one of the best professors at ASU, his lectures are never dry and even the required readings are enjoyable. He does his best to keep his classes up to date and is open to having discussions. Make sure to go to class because anything he says there could potentially end up on the test.
Professor Neck is one of the best professors I've taken. His class is super fun, he's always full of energy, gives great insight, and is overall an amazing professor. Make sure you show up to lectures and read the chapters he assigns and you'll be fine!
Chris Neck is not for everyone, but that doesn't mean you can't get a good grade if you pay attention in class. Even in a giant lecture hall he pays attention to you, cares, can catch you cheating, and expects you to follow his class rules (no laptops). Overall a great guy, plus he repeats a lot to drill in the material and shows movie clips!
what a guy! he loves to talk about his experiences so I really appreciate. The class isn't hard--show up to class and you will succeed. Also, he makes class interesting, I was always excited to show up at his 9am to hear him talk. he has great energy. Read the textbook and memorize the vocab and you're good to good. super empathetic human :)
Neck is the best professor I had at ASU hands down. His lectures were interesting and informative and I learned so much from his class that I will definitely carry into my career. Just a super fun guy who knows his stuff, and expects you to work hard, but doesn't make the class insanely difficult. Take this class, seriously!
I took Neck's class this semester and I absolutely loved it! I thought MGT300 would be boring, but Neck makes this class truly enjoyable. It was my favorite class this semester and he is hands down my favorite professor! If you have a chance to take him definitely do, you get to watch tons of movie clips and he really engages with the class.
I bombed the first exam because I didn't listen to his advice about studying. I thought I wouldn't be able to pass but he for sure makes it possible. I would just focus on the vocab for the quizzes and for the exam study the chapters by making notes and look over vocab.
Great guy.
Best teacher i've ever had. Show up pay attention and do your reading/ know vocab you'll get an easy A. Interesting teacher and good material! would totally recommend
BEST. PROF. EVER. he makes each lecture SO fun and engaging; talks about himself and then makes jokes about how he talks about himself too much. most importantly, his course is SO well organized and it is SO easy to succeed in this class. you can v easily get 100% on all assignments by putting in a LIL bit of effort. easy to reach, v nice. 1000/10
Neck really cares about his class and students, even after the class ends. I thought it was corny how he started out preaching about enthusiasm, but he never broke his promise. Lectures were very entertaining (talking ofc, videos, stories etc), textbook can be a bit dry but is VERY necessary, no extra credit (covid time was an exception). 10/10
Dr. Neck is an amazing professor. He makes sure that everything is completely clear for tests and if it isn't, he is always available outside of class. I got a hundred on 3 of the 4 tests, including the final, and ended with a 98.5% in the class. While it was pretty easy for me, I learned so much. He teaches about real life and doesn't waste time.
Dr. Neck's lectures are the best! Despite it being a large class size, Dr. Neck still manages to keep it engaging! You need the book to do well on the tests, but if you do the readings and go to class, the tests are easy. Such an amazing professor, 10/10 would recommend.
Neck is THE best professor I've taken at ASU. There are quizzes based on key terms from the book. Tests are tough, with a lot of information. Tests are based on key terms, lectures, and reading. The lectures are the best I've attended in college. He's funny, engaging, and will even give shirts or red bulls for participation. Do the work you'll pass
Highly entertaining lectures, loved Professor Neck's class (unfortunately moved online from COVID). Laptops are not allowed in class and he is VERY firm on that, but honestly I liked it. There is a lot on the quizzes/tests from the textbook but I never bought it and ended with a B, so use that information how you'd like. Definitely reccomend Neck.
Dr. Neck was such an amazing professor. His class consists of 4 exams and 4 quizzes (lowest quiz score is dropped). The quizzes are all on key term definitions and exam material is all covered in class. Pay attention to his examples! Always keeps class interesting and you can tell he loves his students. Best prof I have had by far in college.
Professor Neck is the absolute best professor I have ever had. This man really cares about his students and their education. His lectures are engaging and he really applies the material from the book. Book/readings are a must, tests are simply lectures, reading, and key terms. As long as you put in the effort, you'll get an A & have a great class
Dr. Neck's class runs very smoothly, nothing unpredictable in the way of assignments. I liked how I could listen to lectures and not have to worry about remembering specific facts. A lot of support available in this class too, if someone needs it. I found the class to be pleasant and definitely is respectful of students' time.
I dont even see a point in leaving a review as the previous ones speak for themselves - all in all, Neck is dope. Take him.
TIP: Make a friend, and share the cost of the online textbook. You can share the username just both cant be on at the same time. Theres not much you need it for except studying before tests and for the vocab. theres also quizlets online with the vocab and test topics.
Best professor I have at ASU
Dr. Neck is the best professor I have ever had. He is over-qualified for this job, and teaches just because he likes it. I was actually excited to go to class on the days I had MGT300. I highly recommend this class. You need to attend lectures because the material is on the tests, but he makes the lectures funny and worth your time. 10/10 teacher.
I loved Dr. Neck's class. He really cares about the students and lectures are full of life lessons. The class is graded by 3 vocab quizzes, (there's 4 but 1 is dropped), 4 exams (read the textbook and attend class you'll be fine), and 3 research credits. Get the textbook, it's not too expensive and necessary to pass. Take him; you won't regret it!
Dr. Neck is by far, the BEST professor that I've had over the past 3 years that I've spent at ASU. There is truly no one else like him. He truly cares about his students, their education and success. He is hilarious and relatable, 10/10 would take his course again.
Attendance is important because the exams will ask you what he said in the lectures. His lectures is amazing and I really enjoy coming to class. Take him!
Love this professor! You can easily reach him and he offers help if you need it. Just study the modules and learn the vocal and you can get an A. Not boring!
Mgt 300 is by far one of the most stressful classes I have taken because Professor Neck is so anal about everything. He has this fixation on trying to get students caught up for academic dishonesty and he will not round up grades I am .5 points away from the next letter grade. He is an awful, non-understanding Professor for a pandemic semester. :(
MAKE SURE YOU DO THE RESEARCH CREDITS like on the first day of class! I missed the survey options and did the written report and THE LAB DIDNT GIVE CREDIT TO HALF THE PEOPLE WHO DID THE WRITTEN REPORT (the instructions were too vague) AND IT IS 5% OF UR GRADE the material is easy but i will miss an A by .1 and he doesnt round or give EC.
This course was taken during the epidemic. Professor Neck will neither give Extra Credits nor Round your points. But as long as you take the time to read his Study Plan carefully and follow suit, you will definitely get A easily. What he said is very practical, not only about management knowledge, but also a lot of life advice.
Dr. Neck's MGT300 class is extremely straight forward. He provides a document each week (my class was via Sync) listing what you need to do for that week - study it all and you'll ace his exams. His quizzes are straight vocab (basically free points) and he is great about communicating with students throughout the semester. Always there to help too.
Neck is fantastic. Know the vocab and module content and you'll be good to go. He makes it very clear what is expected. He is very easy to reach, I feel he cares deeply about the success of his students and will always do his best to accommodate you. If there were a model on how to teach an online class, he would be it.
Honestly the best professor Ive had at ASU. Class is very easy and straight forward. Do the work and youll get an A. He also genuinely cares about students so dont be afraid to reach out to him
Took this class during Fall 2020 through Zoom but I actually really enjoyed it. Lectures were prerecorded and class met once a week for a review session. Grades are mostly just exams and quizzes but there's no pop quizzes/surprises. Also, he always tells you exactly what material will be on the tests and he responds quickly to emails and calls.
My favorite professor and wish other professors followed his class structure. Neck will tell you exactly what you need to study for exams so just study and it'll be an easy A+. Quizzes are just vocab and most of the vocab will show up on the exam so an easy quizlet will help! No homework, textbook required (it isn't boring and is interesting)
Teacher is a waste of space. The videos he provides though are cool. You practically memorize 80-150 vocab words, "Self-Leadership" chapters, read/skim through the MGT Chapters, for the Exam. Not Open Notes. I Learned Nothing. Unprofessional email responses. Pushes you onto the TAs in open hours. So if you want an easy class to memorize vocab.
Mr. Neck was was an incredible teacher and I really enjoyed his class. He teaches you not only about managing others, but how to manage yourself and how to better yourself in doing so. He really cares about his students, and is also refreshingly transparent about what will be on the test. Follow the modules and you'll do well and enjoy it too.
This professor is one of my favorites. He genuinely cares & makes things interesting! He is so inspiring and is actually helpful and honest as a professor. Everything that is in the modules is on the exams, no surprises! The exams aren't open note but aren't extremely difficult either. It can be a lot to read but it definitely keeps you interested!
Amazing professors ! One of favorite classes of this semester ! Dr. Neck gives you everything to receive an easy A you just have to put in the time to study ! If youre looking for a MGT class take Dr. Neck awesome professor, cares for his students !
Professor Neck really cares about his students. Very down to earth guy and makes himself as available as possible. Class grade is determined by performance across 4 quizzes (lowest grade dropped), 4 exams, and a small 2-credit research requirement (takes maybe an hour - best to get out of the way in the first week of classes). Study efficiently.
The exams are mainly vocab and some questions that come straight out of the textbook. There are 4 exams and 4 quizzes he drops the lowest quiz grade. Quizzes are all vocab. The exams are easy and he gives exam questions in a lecture, makes sure to go to a lecture on the week before exams. Use Quizlet for vocab term memorization.
Neck is absolutely one of the best professors you could have at ASU. The exam and quiz content is very clear. Take notes on the weekly modules and study them. Thats all you need to do. He assigns specific textbook readings, you don't have to read every week only when its posted in the module. Quizzes are vocab only, and exams are based off modules
Neck is the worst professor I have ever had, he didnt teach at all. He put his lesson plan in a module for the us to teach ourselves. The modules took 2-4 hours to complete due to how much he was asking . Tests are even worse. He doesn't grade on knowledge, he asks what was said in the lecture and word for word vocab definitions. Take someone else.
Something is very suss about his reviews. He isn't anywhere near as good as what people say. I suspect he is reviewing poor reviews. If you are a memory person, you will do okay. If not, take it with someone else. His class involves no learning, nor does he offer any teaching. He seems nice though.
Not sure why this professor is so highly rated. Neck is a nice guy, but his class is only compromised of memorizing an insane number of key terms and random details from a book he basically forces you to buy. If you have a great memory and/or get through college by memorizing rather than understanding the material, then you're in luck.
Professor Neck, is easy going and passionate. His homework and readings are pretty straight forward. Be prepared there is a TON of vocab, but if you watch his videos and use something like studymate to practice the vocab you'll do fine in the course. His study guides are his modules, he appalls trick questions so it's straight to the point.
Dr. Neck was one of the best professors I have had at ASU. Even though a lot of the class of reading and learning vocab, he was still a very personable and interesting guy who taught and was there to answer any question anyone had. A stress-free class where you can do great and actually learn if you do exactly what he tells you. I would take again!
There is a lot of vocabulary to learn but other than that hes a great teacher. Hes very inspirational and a great guy. I would definitely recommend him if you want to have fun while learning.
Professor Neck is probably one of my favorite professors. Super funny and nice! While your grade is based only on quizzes and exams as long as you read the textbooks and study then its an easy A. I wish that I could have taken his class in person instead of online it would have been a great experience.
Professor Neck is one of the top professors I've had this far. He's super intriguing and motivating and is very clear about what he expects. Each module has a bit of reading, and if you don't, you may not pass, but the material is so interesting! There's 4 tests, and 4 EASY quizzes, so if you read and study the terms, you can easily get an A.
One of my favorite professors at ASU! He made this class feel like more than just another class. He teaches you skills that you'll be able to use in life regardless of what career you go into. Grade is dependent on vocabulary quizzes and module tests, but if you study, easy A. A LOT of vocab/memorizing, but content is easy to understand. TAKE NECK!
Neck is by far the perfect teacher to have during the pandemic. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to business and life and knows how to control a crowd. I've learned about management and important life lessons with this class. There is a lot to memorize but its all vocab so its easy if you put in the work. He's the real deal.
Seriously take this guy. He cares about his students. Not only is he an amazing guy but hes very articulate and great at teaching. By far my favorite professor Ive had and will have.
Prof. Neck is the best professor I have ever had. There is no actual homework besides preparing for quizzes and exams. The quizzes and exams were really straight-forward and not tricky (as usual) at all! Take this professor! Easy A and you'll have fun!:)
Be prepared to teach yourself EVERYTHING!! A lot of vocab that's memorization like in elementary school. Neck is a cool guy but does not really teach you anything. You must read BOTH books (that he wrote) and do everything on your own. Tests are straight memorization and pretty detailed on the book stuff. couldn't stand this class.
People are complaining about having to do the bare minimum. Neck makes it so clear what is expected from day one, he posts a weekly module with EXACTLY what is gonna be on the exams. Read the book, make quizlets to memorize vocab and review all the modules before the exams. Easy A, interesting class and not too much work a week. Take Dr. Neck!
Very nice professor. Give tons of reminders for exams and Quiz. Very easy class if you actually spend some time for this class. Just read the module and study with the module you will be fine.
Professor Neck was great to have for MGT 300. He gave interesting examples and always has a good inspirational quote to uplift his students at the start of the week. He sends out reminders before all the quizzes/exams and really cares for his students. 10/10 would recommend him for this course!
Dr. Neck is an energetic and passionate lecturer that will make time for any student that has a question. He even gives out his cell phone number so people can reach him quickly! Wish I could have taken him in-person, because his energy and love of the course shines through with everything he does! If you're taking MGT300, Neck is the only choice.
super fun & cool guy. lectures arent mandatory. most of the learning is done on your own and almost all the assignments are chapter quizzes and exams. these are done on lockdown browser but arent too hard if you pay attention and study. easy class, cool guy, motivational information. books are required and used.
Dr. Neck is one of the best professor's I've had at ASU. He genuinely cares about students and is available for student questions 24/7. The class is mostly memorization and everything you need to succeed is clearly explained in the modules. Wish I could've taken this class in person, Chris is a great professor.
This class consists of 4 exams and 4 quizzes. While he may be a great professor in person, he pre records all his lectures and quizzes heavily upon them during his closed note exams. He also gives you 80 vocabulary words to memorize which will all be tested on the exam. Do yourself a favor and don't take this professor
Professor Neck is a very cool guy. This class is like the easiest class ever, so I would recommend taking it. However, the only downside is that you have soooo much reading and notes to take. It is literally ridiculous. he will assign five chapters in one week sometimes. You have to know millions of vocab words for each test.
Professor Neck makes this class very enjoyable and he responds to emails very fast. Study hard for tests. Each test is at least 100 vocab words and readings are sometimes 5 chapters a test and each chapter is minimum 10 pages. If you don't read or study, you will not pass. Worked so hard for this class but it was worth it. Best professor ever!
If you're great at memorization, congrats on your A. Tests are 100+ terms that are synonyms of one another and obscure details from the textbook and articles to make sure you read every last period. Stopped attending lectures when they became Q&A's about random things not related to the class. Great guy, really likes LSU, but not my type of class.
Neck is one of the best professors at ASU. Yes,tests are long but the material is actually engaging and fun to read/learn. I found myself learning everything without difficulty. Make Quizlets to study the vocab! This class is easy if you actually try even a little bit. Neck is an amazing lecturer and person as well. Take him, you won't regret it.
Professor Neck is a really cool guy, and is very passionate about his work! Your grade is based on 4 exams, 3 quizzes and two research credits so not much room for buffer points. Tests are 90% word for word key terms. If you just use the modules to study, and do the readings you'll 100% pass. I enjoyed this class and would recommend it to others.
Professor Neck was a joy of a teacher to have. I truly enjoyed the topics we discussed in class. Prof. Neck teaches great skills to not only succeed in school but also in life. His topic on positive self talk truly helped me through some tough academic times. I would recommend this class and professor to anyone who will listen to me.
Class is very organize. His modules tells you exactly what to study to pass the exams. 4 easy exams and a few easy quizzes. Have to do 2 survey assignments that takes an hour. Professor Neck has great energy that translate well even in online classes. A fun class that helps with understanding self leadership and motivation.
Professor Neck is very caring of his students, class is well-structured and his lectures are never boring. He gets very detailed in his modules of what's expected on the test and usually everything is on the test. It's an easy A if you study the materials he gives you. I would take his class again for sure!
Wasn't the best teacher online, but I'm sure is great in person. Needs some more assignments so your grade isn't messed up from one mistake.
Professor Neck is one of the best professors I have ever had at ASU. He cares so much about his students and is one of the most relational and relatable professors ever. His class is pretty easy, there is a lot of reading that is required in order to do well on exams. Everything is doable and Professor Neck's personality makes it easier.
Easy A & a super well known, respected professor at WP Carey. Spring 2021 this class was held completely online with prerecorded lecture videos & chapter readings. I've heard that this class is even better in person & I wish I had the opportunity to experience it that way. Super test heavy but as long as you study what he tells you you're set.
Professor neck is not only a great professor but a great person! I thoroughly enjoyed this class and was so inspired but many of the things he said throughout the semester. Exams are very easy if you do exactly what has been assigned. I made quizlet's for the terms bc there are lot, I will say. I only wish I could have had this class in person.
Dr. Neck is one of the best professors I've had at ASU. He genuinely cares about his students. He gives very minimal lectures, and his lectures are honestly very enjoyable! I would definitely take another class from him, and I highly recommend his class!
I HATE going to in-person lectures but I made sure to always go to Professor Neck's, not only because a lot of the material is tested but he always made it an engaging and fun experience. Exams are graded on examples he uses in lectures as well as vocab/main topics in the textbooks. If you use Quizlet to study for exam, it should be an easy A
Dr Neck is a great professor that wants to see you succeed. As long as you attend class and read before each exam this class is an easy A. Lectures are very detailed for your understanding. He is constantly setting up his students with opportunities for the future.
He does really care and it shows. The other reviews are spot on show up to class and take notes and read the book and know the vocab and you'll pass the class with an A easily. He makes coming to class enjoyable
Professor Neck cares about your success not only in the class but in your life/ business career! One of the best professors at ASU! He gives you so many valuable lectures and conveys his points perfectly.
engaging, fav class of semester I never wanted to skip. valuable asset if you take time to build a relationship. +/- scale, graded on 4 exams + 4 quizzes (easy 100%). lectures are tested heavily, pay attention to why he shows the movie clips. sit in the front 2 rows even if you aren't that person. no EC. 2 books inexpensive, must purchase to pass.
Honestly hes engaging and charismatic but thats all. Class material is rather useless and he sugarcoats himself as if his class will birth hundreds of Elon Musks and Jeff Bezos after they learn definition of mission and goal setting. Of course everyone needs to self-motivate doesnt have to be defined by a whole 400 pg textbook IMO
Best class! No homework, only 4 quizzes & 4 exams. Easy to get a good grade. Lectures are interesting/easy to follow. You MUST read the book as that's what quizzes/exams are based on. His class is a lot about LOA which I don't think he realizes but it's pretty neat! Neck is pretty arrogant but credit where credit is due his class was great :)
Dr. Neck was one of my favorite professors I have had at ASU. All you need to do is show up to class and take notes or have a friend send you them. There is no homework, four quizzes, and four tests. The quizzes are just vocab terms from a chapter and the tests are based on lecture notes, class examples, the textbooks, and mainly vocab. SO easy!!!!
Dr. Neck is a brilliant lecturer, influential speaker and a phenomenal manager. All his lecture materials are well-planned out and he aligns every example, topic and activity well with his textbook materials! Hes definitely the one professor youd want to associate yourself with as a business major!
Good professor, very charismatic and has a good teaching style. The problem is, his lectures are full of fluff - he read us children's books and rapped to us, and showed dozens of movie clips. This would all be fine if he didn't turn around and assign 200 pages of his terribly dry book to read for the next exam. Use class time to teach, please.
If youre not a bum you can pass this class. I skipped here and there, just make sure to get the notes from a friend. Quizzes are super easy and only 10 questions. Dr. Neck himself is an amazing professor and he truly cares about everyone. I never once read out of the textbook, just skim through the chapters before an exam and youll be fine.
Dr. Neck's class is heavily focused on lectures and exam/quizzes with no homework. They're 4 exams (key terms/slight readings), noncumulative, and 4 quizzes. You can choose not to show up to class but if another student doesn't send you the notes then you won't get them. Despite this, Neck's class has a fun environment and I can't recommend it more
Prof Neck has definitely been one of my favorite professors. He brings lots of enthusiasm and humor to each lecture and you can tell he really cares about his students. Throughout the sem he has also brought in a few different guest speakrs which added a lot of different perspectives about the business world. Lectures are always fun and informative
Dr. Neck probably is a really neat professor to talk to and learn from outside of class. However, as a professor, I would highly recommend not taking his classes. 50% of the time he talks about himself, and a majority of test questions are about non material items. Its a very easy course, but if you dont attend class, your indirectly punished.
Neck is a fantastic instructor. He's definitely one of my favorite professors. His lectures were so much fun and he applies the material and makes it very clear. Your grade is based off exams/quizzes, but don't be scared - they aren't difficult. Go to class, learn terms, and study the given chapters and you'll do great!
He is an awesome professor but you need to make sure you attend every lecture and study the material outside of class in order to pass.
Glorified motivational speaker. Some guest speakers were amazing others were worthless(Annavate partners). Might as well have been a partner with Nike for the amount of just do it that was pushed in the class. Tests were structured weird with some being all reading material some being mostly in class material. Entire grade mostly based on tests.
I loved this class and I loved attending lectures. He made them fun and interesting. Your grade is made up of 4 exams and 4 quizzes. But getting good grades is easy. After he introduces a subject he often reads an excerpt from a book or shows a clip of a movie as an example, which made it really easy to remember and learn. 10/10 recommend.
He's a great teacher and actually makes you feel like you learned something, the only thing is you have to try because your grade is strictly judged by tests and quizzes . It isn't a bad thing, they're mainly just vocab and pretty self-explanatory, but each test 20% of your final grade
Dr. Neck is genuinely the best professor I have ever had. This course not only teachers you management strategies in the business sense but also self-management. If you make the most out of this course by reading the textbook and attending lectures, you will greatly benefit from Dr. Necks teaching (and you'll easily get an A).
Only thing I didnt like is that some exam questions were sophomoric just to make sure you read the textbook. Im not fond of that because I just feel like for you to give no extra credit + few assignments you have no excuse to play on an exam and should be testing me to make sure I know the material period.
This is by far one of the most entertaining classes I have ever taken, but I will say you don't necessarily learn a lot of valuable information in this class. With that being said, the class is very easy as long as you study the key terms he provides for you. No homework, only quizzes and exams. Definitely enjoyed his class and strongly recommend!
Wonderful professor and actually cares about providing relatable and useful material to his students! I am glad to have taken this class.
Dr. Neck is by far the best teacher I have had at ASU. He cares about his students and he cares about the material. That is all I think any student can ask for. It is a class you have to do the work in but it isn't bad at all. Don't skip class, do all of the assignments and study for the exams. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this class.(Poly)
Where to start with this guy. Spends class time telling jokes that could get him in trouble with the deans and having Red Bull corporate talk to us, then has us read his books that restate the same sentence for hundreds of pages. Steer clear.
TAKE THIS CLASS!! Dr. Neck is hands down the best professor Ive had at ASU. He is so funny and interesting and his classes are extremely enjoyable. I constantly found myself applying class material to my own life. Hes such a great professor and you learn valuable information in his course. Hes the best. Just gotta read the book and take notes.
Very hard class. When others tell you Dr. Neck's classes are an easy A they are totally lying. To do well on Dr. Neck's exams and quizzes you have to memorize hundreds of key terms. I spent hours upon hours studying and memorizing key terms for Dr. Neck's exams. His content is good though, and he teaches the mindset needed to become a Bezos/Musk.
Pro. Neck is really funny and gives lots of real-life advice during his lectures. His guest speakers are pretty inspirational and I have learned a lot from them. The exams are not hard if you read the book and take good notes. However, memorizing 4-5 pages of key terms for exams was pretty tough for me but if you can do it, the class is an easy A.
Professor Neck is a nice guy but his lectures can be exhausting. Half of what he teaches is common sense and the other half is filled with unnecessary theories and models. There are four exams in the class on scantron (seems antiquated) that makeup 80% of your grade. I wouldn't take this class unless it's required.
Best professor I have had at ASU. Lectures are engaging and plays lots of video clips to ensure the information has been understood. Down side is test are vocab heavy so you have to memorize them to do good on the exams.
As long as you are ready to put in the reading, you can very easily pass the class. The exams come from both textbooks and some of the lectures. If you want an A or B you should attend every class and read both books. The quizzes come from one chapter from only one of the textbooks. Not only is he a great professor but also a great person.
If tests arent your thing dont take this class. The grade book consists of 9 things total. 4 quizzes, 4 tests and research credits. He doesnt round up and he has tests on paper in person. Had to take this class and I wouldnt take it again. He loves to lecture like hes a motivational speaker and talk about nonsense.
Love that class! Did not worry about that grade it all because 80% is just memorizing definition in the textbook and the other 20% from his lectures. His class is very interesting and he always have guests speakers which made the students relates what we learn to real-world experience and allowed us to network and interact with potential employers
I only showed up on test days the entire semester and still passed, so if thats something that you wanted to accomplish, follow this advice. Use the syllabus he posted that tells you what chapters from the book will be on it, go to the online book and scroll down to the key terms, click on them and copy the definitions to Quizlet and study them. Yw
I really loved taking this professor's class at Poly. I got an A+, and felt I learned a lot. I feel that given what I learned in this class, I could one day become a really great entrepreneur. Once one gets through his classes he even allows his former students to go to his office hours, and will help any of his former students with what they need.
Hes a good teacher but is also very narrow minded and subjective. A lot of the materials he brings on orient to cliché and hollow inspirations such as follow your mission! Follow your goal! Its also funny how he specifies how much carbs and other core nutrients one should eat in his textbook as if everyone has the same metabolic configuration
With all due respect, I don't get the few people who rate Professor Neck poorly. I agree with the majority of rave reviews. Instead of making us read the entire text, he only tests us on the key terms as well as the lecture material. Anyone who thinks that is a lot of work is mistaken. Neck Rocks. Take his class. You won't be sorry. Best ever.
Best class ever at ASU. If you go to class and study ahead of time and not wait to cram, you will do well in Neck's class. He even gives a class of over 300 students his cell number in case you have questions. It it an EASY A? You have to go to class and read the books, but if you do that, you will get an A.
Great Professor. You can tell he loves what he does. Your grade is based solely on the tests and quizzes, which come from the lectures and textbooks. He made the class interesting and entertaining. Made himself accessible even with classes of 300+. Would take a class from him again, no question.
Dr. Neck is incredible! His lectures were entertaining and he makes class super enjoyable. I learned so much from his class and you can tell he is extremely passionate about what he does and wants everyone to learn skills that will help them for the rest of their lives. Great professor! Take him for MGT300!
Acts like a motivational tough guy and thinks hes right 99% of the time. Then begged all his students to leave good rating on this website. Outdated teaching style and self glorified lecture materials.
Professor Neck was my favorite professor that I have had the privilege to learn from here at WPC by far. Accessible outside of class, show up and actually take notes from the lectures you'll ace the exams. If you try in this class, you learn the vocab and write what is taught in class you will literally get an A+. He really is a great guy ti know!
You get what you give. He comes prepared and is always ready to teach what hes supposed to teach. However, a lot of the content and the quality of it made me question whether or not if it was worth all the memorization and sitting through the boring lecture and all the controversial jokes. Funny professor, but definitely a motivator wannabe.
Dr. Neck is, without question, the BEST professor I've ever had. His lectures are easy to understand and captivating. You can tell he genuinely cares about each one of his students. If you show up to class and study for tests/quizzes, you'll have 0 problems. There is no class or professor I'd recommend more. Take this class!!
If I'm being honest, these bad reviews are dramatic. This is the most straightforward class I've ever taken. There were 0 surprises on any tests, as we were told exactly what we needed to study. Professor Neck gives awesome lectures and is extremely caring toward his students. If you do your part, you'll get an A. I loved this class.
Professor Neck is an awesome choice for management it is even better if you like stories or video representations of topics discussed in class. He is very engaging and inspirational to say the least. The only critique I have is that the Exams and Quizzes have absolutely no buffer points via attendance or homework so you need to test well.
Dr. Neck is the BEST professor. By far the best class I've taken at ASU! For the reviews that say his motivational stuff is unnecessary, they're missing the point. Class is easy grade wise if you study, just vocab & main ideas. What makes Neck great IS his advice & helpful stories. If you want to actually LEARN something useful, take this class!!!
Honestly, you'd have to try to not get a good grade in this class. If you show up and study what he tells you to (which is word for word, exactly what's on the quizzes and tests), you'll get an A no problem. The bad reviews make no sense. His lectures are never boring, unlike a lot of other professors, and he gives interesting, real life examples.
This class is pretty easy! But not only that, prof Neck makes the material actually really interesting and makes me want to show up to class. He makes classes very engaging and uses a lot of real life examples and shows a lot of videos too!
Professor Neck is absolutely fantastic. He's a dynamic speaker and really knows his stuff. If you pay attention in the lectures (which are fantastic) and do a bit of studying outside of class (nothing too crazy), you should have no problem passing the class. Absolutely one of the best professors in the business school, if not all of ASU.
Neck is fair. He gives u specific info on what is on tests and quizzes and they really are in the tests. his exams are easy as long as u follow his study guide methods. this class has 4 tests and 4 quizzes, no hw. He is a fun teacher that makes lectures enjoyable. you can easily get an A if u take the time to study for exams.
Really great professor who has entertaining lectures. As long as you put the time in your just fine on the tests.
MGT 300 with Neck is by far one of my favorite classes ever. Not only is the content interesting, but Neck makes it more enjoyable. If you go to class, you will easily get an A on all of the exams. Also, some of the videos he shows really help you learn the content even more.
Dr. Neck is incredible. He gives amazing and engaging lectures that make you excited to learn; going to class is your greatest asset. Easy content to understand, but be prepared to do some textbook reading for exams. Overall, great caring guy who teaches a well-structured class.
Professor Neck is the best teacher I have ever had! His class is very easy with it being a lot of lectures. His lectures are funny and he likes to show videos from movies and tv to get his point across. His tests are very easy as long as you read the textbook (You need to buy the textbook!). If you have to take MGT 300, take it with Dr Neck!
Dr. Neck is my favorite professor I have had at ASU. His lectures are actually interesting and I enjoyed a lot of them. The class itself is not hard, but you need to go to class because a lot of exam content comes from lectures. He is a very caring professor that wants to make his class as enjoyable as possible!
Professor Neck is funny, relatable, and very good at teaching. He makes the concepts easy to follow, and provides very humorous yet relevant examples of each concept to show how it is applied. It is obvious how passionate he is about the subject and teaching in general, and his passion really rubs off on the class and makes everyone engaged.
Such a fun professor, one of the few classes I enjoyed going to. His lectures are so fun and really helps you understand and remember the material. As long as you go to class and pay attention, you will pass this class. Best class I took all year, very fun professor.
You HAVE to read the assigned chapters, but it's a really easy-to-read book and I had no issues keeping up. All 4 quizzes are vocabulary and the exams are straight from the chapter review sections. His exams also reference videos shown during lecture, so attendance is important for that but there's no attendance or participation grade.
Neck was a great professor I just wasn't a fan of the setup of the class. Entire grade is made up from 4 exams and 5 quizzes which doesn't leave a lot of room for error. The lectures were always fun but also felt like a waste of time. Super straight forward with content on exams. Would recommend if you're looking for a low effort passing class.
Neck was by far the best instructor I have had, from kindergarten to my last few semesters in college I have never had such an amazing teacher. Lectures are extremely well thought out and relate directly to the tests and quizzes. He was able to illustrate crystal clear connections between his material and my situations in business world. 100% Take!
Didnt buy a textbook and didnt go to most classes. I got a B- and all the exams are on quizlet. Even the questions on the exams that only people who went to class would know are on the quizlets.
Still to this day don't understand why he's a well-known professor. Management classes should be teaching real life case studies. How Steve Hare consolidates company culture by ensuring effective communications. How Tim Cook validates every employee's feedback for forward-looking outcomes. Not some textbook definitions that dictate grades.
Holds high pride over his own biases. Lecture materials are not applicable at all and the textbook seems to be outdated. Makes students watch movie scenes that don't apply to the real world and brings in some alumni that aren't even that successful just because they keep in touch and make him feel good. Btw, he begged students to leave good ratings
Dr Neck is by far the best professor I have ever had in my life. Aside from the content of his course, which is itself uplifting, inspiring, and encouraging, the way he structures his course is accommodative and realistic. He had guest speakers that provided some of the most tangible advice I've gotten in college. Thank you Dr. Neck!
Professor Neck is probably the best I had at ASU. If you want a teacher who loves to teach, and who will get to know you if you let him, and who has a fun class then he is a great choice. His testing and attendance policies were straightforward: Pay attention and you will do well. And his guest speakers were a huge hit and he helped find us jobs!
Neck's class is interesting. You basically have to go to class and do all readings to do well. I made Quizlets for his exams that really helped so find those. He does not allow computers in class so still write out notes. You can succeed in this class easily if you do the readings, study, and go to class. Man he is a little odd though.
Lectures consist of movie clips to support easy to understand concepts so he can ask specific questions about them on tests to make sure you went to his overdrawn class. You learn 5 simple terms per class and watch 12 movie clips
Absolutely dogshit. Biased in every lecture without realizing. Tests on vague life stories with vague relevance. Inauthentic, bad leader, better options in other courses/ professors. Would never recommend.
Dr. Neck literally wrote the book on managment. You use 2 of his books in class. There are 4 quizes, 4 exams, and a reasearch credit. Thats it. Quizes are on some key terms from one chapter. If you arent a good test taker, you may want to reconsider. He is very passionate and knowlegable. He cares alot, but he is no pushover. He is a HUGE LSU fan!
Necks class is great. You need to show up to do well since he uses in class examples on his exams but his lectures are entertaining so it's simple.
Dr. Neck is the best professor I've had at ASU. He is a great lecturer, and is very passionate about the content he is teaching. He clearly outlines how to study for exams in order to get an A, and I would really recommend attending every lecture even though attendance is not graded. If you have even half of a brain cell this class will be easy!
Professor Neck is quite possibly the best professor I've had at ASU. He truly has his student's best interest in mind at all times and is always willing to help. The way he teaches is engaging and really motivating. Very responsive with emails and in class. If i could take the course again I would. His quizzes and exams are fair too.
his mgt 300 class is probably the easiest upper level class you will ever take here, and he is also a great guy. That being said his text book is a complete joke as well as the class you really learn nothing. if you want an easy take this class but if you want to learn do not.
Honestly one of my least favorite professors. You are forced to go to class to find out what you need to read at home, but learn absolutely nothing in the classroom. You watch a bunch of clips and hear a couple easy to explain definitions. Tests are meant to trick you and require up to 8 chapters of reading. Even just looking at him pisses me off.
I took this class as a Junior and it has been by far the best class I have ever had. I honestly look forward going to this class because Neck is the best professor you can ask for. If you show up to every class and put in a little bit of effort studying for quizzes and exams this class should be stress free. B- is the lowest grade you should get.
Neck is a great guy and he wants his students to do well. Hia class is very test heavy though and there is not a lot of wiggle room for extra points. I did love this class a lot and he did change my persepective on a lot of things from this class and I thank him for that. I enjoyed his class a lot and recommend it! Great guy!
I never rate professors but I had to go out of my way for Professor Neck. He has truly been my favorite professor at ASU by far over my three years. If you want to take something away about management and leadership, while actually enjoying a lecture, this is the class you want to take. I can't emphasize enough how much I would recommend him!
This class was very test and quiz heavy but Neck is a great person and is willing to help you out even if you don't show up to class.I am not too great at test taking but his tests are pretty simple and so are his quizzes as long as you show up to class. If you don't show up to class consistently you will still be able to manage and get at least a C
Neck is passionate about what he teaches, cares about his students, and straightforward. Tells you what is exactly on tests. There are 4 exams, 4 quizzes, and some research credit. Doesn't allow laptops in class but allows phones & tablets. Easy to understand lectures. Q's from text and lectures. Fun and entertaining professor.
I wish I could take Neck's class every single semester as FREE THERAPY. This professor is a true leader. One of a kind. Do not miss taking MGT 300 with Neck. You'll never find another professor like him. Would trust this man with my life.
He is good, very straightforward and interesting lectures, quizzes and exams are a mixture of his lectures and textbook (that he wrote BTW), no HW just grades based on quizzes and exams.
Highly recommend this Professor. Attendance is not mandatory but exams are based on lectures and books so, it's up to you. There are 2 books but they are cheap. For 1 book, you only need to read the "In-Review" and for the other, you only need to read the assigned chapters. The quizzes are vocabulary only and you have plenty of time to study.
Brings plenty of energy to the classroom and makes the whole atmosphere of the class a joy. Test and quizzes are straightforward if you attend class. Highly recommend this professor instead of taking the class online. Neck is one of the best professors at ASU and a true good guy.
I've never written a bad review about a professor, but you could not pay me to take this class again.Forced to go to class to find out what you need to read at home, watch a bunch of short movie clips with some far-fetched relation to the management process, and all focused on tests/quizzes - ZERO room for mistakes.
Going to Professor Neck's class always makes my days better. He is a genuinely good guy with a passion for teaching. His class will teach you valuable life lessons for not only your career, but relationships too. I wish I could tell him how much I value the relationship advice he has given lol. Overall great experience, I will never forget him!
Dr. Neck is a no B.S. dude. First day of class he sets expectations and he holds you to them. Class is fun engaging and you learn a lot about management, leadership and yourself. 4 quizzes and 4 exams on lockdown. and research credits. That's it. So study and dont cheat. He gives you what you need to succeed. Show up and give a little more.
IF YOU CAN TAKE THIS CLASS DO IT. Prof Neck is the funniest Prof ever and he has the best lectures I have ever sat for. I showed up to class everyday excited because he is so funny and because the class material is not hard but teaches you a lot about yourself. BEST CLASS. There are only 4 exams and 4 quizzes but EVERYTHING IS OUTLINED FOR YOU!
mid, IDK if it's just him or the course but I've learned nothing...
TAKE THIS CLASS!!! Professor Neck has been the most amazing professor I have ever had because of his ability to keep his class engaged, his lectures relate to not only my professional life, but my personal life as well, and the only assignments that matter are the online quizzes and exams.
Professor Neck had a unique teaching style that I have never seen before, but he is one of the best Professor's I have had. You must come to class as everything is done in person and only exams are done online. The entire class is graded from 4 quizzes and 4 exams. If you are not taking Neck you are missing out. Geaux tigers
PLEASE TAKE HIS CLASS!!! Neck is an amazing professor! He truly cares about his students and he wants to see them grow and be successful! Attendance isn't mandatory which is nice! Make sure to go to class since he covers the material for the exams! The exams are easy, as long as you study. I highly encourage anyone to take him!!!
Neck is just that guy, plain and simple! He is by far the best management professor maybe even the best professor in W. P. Carey. I highly suggest taking his class and attending his lectures because of the fact that he is a fun energy to be around and the stuff he teaches you actually relates to everyday life. Genuinely a great man. geaux tigers!
Hands down the best professor I've had. Attendance wasn't mandatory, however, he used questions from lectures on the exam. But even then, I wanted to go to every lecture because he made them fun and applicable to your everyday life. TAKE HIM, you won't regret it. If I could give him a 10/5 I would.
He wrote the books, so he asked questions from them. I hated the two books, but exams weren't hard if you read them and attended the classes. You won't get a good grade if you don't show up. Exams are not cumulative, but they make up almost all of your grade, and none are dropped. Questions come from lectures and the books( one only read in review)
The professor is extremely strict and not cooperative at all about anything. He has a clear grading criteria but very strict about his policies. Exams are extremely lecture heavy if you do not attend his class you will not PASS.
I wanted to enjoy his class so much. He's extremely educated and a passionate instructor. I found his lectures interesting and always attended them. However, I still struggled with his exams. It seems like he cares more about testing to see if you were in class than testing the material. "What movie was this clip from?" etc.
He starts every class bragging about how many students he failed due to "academic dishonesty" (aka students with legitimate tech problems). He will also make inappropriate jokes and dare students to tell the provost. His exam questions ask you to remember small details from the lecture with no mention in the textbook. Overall very condescending.
Worst professor I've had at ASU. Class is 90% filler and 10% content. The filler consists of incredibly boring personal stories, and clips from melodramas at least twenty years old, and the content is just knockoff Myers Briggs and Dale Carnegie nonsense. Won't let students use laptops, very disrespectful of students' time, makes you buy his book.
Best professor I have had at ASU. I have learned so much in his class, not only about management but also about myself. Dr. Neck puts a lot of work into his lectures, making them very engaging and impactful. Exams are very straightforward if you go to class. I wish I could take his class again!
Disappointed reading through some of these reviews. Professor Neck is arguably the best professor at ASU. The content in lecture/book proved critical for everybody, and allowed students to evaluate their lifestyles, and career path. Everybody complaining either didn't go to class or failed due to cheating (which he continually warned against).
Lecture-heavy exams. Pay attention to all the details in class even if you think they are nonrelated to the course. Questions asked on the exam can be nonrelated to the course and are asked to see if you attended lecture and paid attention. Find a buddy so that you can share notes.
Worst Professor Ive ever had. DO NOT TAKE!!!!! He is cocky beyond belief. He expects you to memorize his text books for the test, and every little detail. His office hours are non-negotiable. So if you have a job, good luck getting a meeting. He will not change them, he expects you to change your work hours.
Claims that he cares about student success, but provides no help outside of class whatsoever. Uses a one size fits all approach (despite claiming he follows research). If you don't go to class, good luck. Neck is also unbelievably arrogant; he mocks people for complaining to the dean about him. Totally unwilling to change his ways despite feedback.
There's only 8 things you're graded on, 4 quizzes and 4 tests. The quizzes are super easy but the tests are all lecture based with some vocal terms. Not a horrible teacher, the class structure just sucks and I don't love having to listen to him talk about himself twice a week.
ATTENDANCE MANDATORY. AND I MEAN EVERY SINGLE CLASS. Neck is acutally a really good teacher. He is motivating and funny to listen to. His lectures are mid, but he goes slow so you cant miss anything. So many movie clips, and most are asked about on the test. study hard, the tests are difficult and will bite you in the butt so dont slack.
Extra. He is very, very extra. If you dont go to class, Read the mgt3E book reviews at the end of each chapter and you'll be fine.
Good guy and good lectures, he makes the content easy to understand. His lectures are usually interesting and he will ask test questions direct from the lectures, so pay attention and take notes. He does not et you use laptops in class, but aside from that he is one of the better professors at ASU I have had.
Chris is a great guy and is really caring, but everything he teaches in his lectures can easily be learned through a job. This is a joke for a 300 level class. His class consists of life stories and far fetched movie ideas. His exams consists of what leadership style he used for what movie. He also has guest speakers that only talk about themselves
Literally one of the best teachers ever. I'm really surprised he's not a 4.9 or 5.0. Anyone that thinks he wasn't a fantastic teacher is lying! Me and all my friends still talk about how awesome he was.
He was such a great professor! One of my favorite at ASU. Please take him!
I liked attending his evening class. His class was so engaging and fun. Awesome professor. 80% of final grade is exam material. He doesn't give out homework
This class is determined by a couple tests and quizzes. There is a research assignment requirement worth 5% of your grade, and he does not accept any late credit. He is a part of the academic integrity board at ASU. His personalitly makes it seem like he is full of himself and unforgiving of his students no matter what you might be dealing with.
I cannot stand sitting in lecture for three hours while he drones on about how great he is. All the assignments are quizzes and exams, and it makes getting a good grade in this class so difficult. If you have a hard time taking exams you will have a hard time in this class. Unsupportive instructor doesn't allow laptops to take notes on.
Neck was a pretty good professor, and the class isn't hard as long as you go to class. He doesn't allow phones or laptops which is annoying, but a lot of lecture details end up on the exams. It's not the most interesting class but he does try to make it engaging. Make sure to read the books and lecture notes before exams.
Does an excellent job of keeping long lectures engaging, using clear explanations and a structured approach that makes the material easy to follow. He sticks closely to the syllabus and ensures what he expects from you. While the class is test-heavy, attending lectures and focusing on the in-review in the highlighted chapters is straightforward.
I would recommend taking professor neck, his lectures are always interesting and he does test on content in lectures so going to class is suggested. He is also an entertaining and nice guy. If you study and pay attention its an easy pass
One of those professors who truly cares and is passionate about teaching. Besides the first class, we got out early every week with breaks in between. Show up to class and you will pass
He uses lots of old boomer movie clips that he includes in exams so make sure to take note of any movie clip he uses in a lecture and why. If you don't show up to class you won't pass. IMO his lectures were ok but he talks about himself a little too much and he uses reverse psychology to avoid being reported to the Dean (every lecture).
Overall the class isn't too hard. Go to each lecture and take notes, review the study guides for each exam and your lecture notes and you'll get a good grade. Neck has some great experience, stories, and mentorship to provide to the class and seems to really care. Somehow manages to talk about how successful of a person he is every single class tho
Amazing course that's all owed to a goated professor. Neck is hilarious and will keep you engaged the entire class with opportunities to get t shirts or mini tabasco bottles. Has to be in my top 3 memorable college courses. On top of that it is very easy to do well. You MUST attend to be successful. Strict no laptop policy! it rocks tbh.
Pr. Neck is a great and entertaining professor. All of his lectures are easy to follow, and he provides many personal and movie examples for the related material. Attendance is not mandatory, but he does not provide notes, so it is better to attend all of his classes. The only con is exams being closed book and on lockdown browser.
Dr Neck was an amazing professor. I do not recommend skipping any lectures since half of the test is from in class notes the rest is from both of his books. Make sure you take notes on everything, even movie clips he shows in class. There are 4 exams which are each worth 20% of the grade, 15% on quizzes which were easy, and 5% on a research paper.
If you are a business major and do not take Dr. Neck's class, you miss out on a great experience.
Dr.Neck is amazing. Main points for succeeding in his class: read everything he tells you to read, attend every lecture as the exams quiz you on that, take notes on EVERYTHING in class. It's a really fun and valuable class only if you put in the work. Don't ask for extra credit or any grading exceptions - it's gonna be a no.
He is an amazing professor and I makes going to class fun. Going to class is optional but highly recommended. the exam questions feature half from the textbooks, and half from the class lectures. He also provides which chapters to read before the exams as well as some example problems of what to expect.
Interesting guy for sure lol but very lecture heavy so actually go to class and lots of reading from the textbooks. 4 quizzes and 4 exams are your entire grade :(. Almost got an A but I was .4 off still butthurt about that. Lectures are very entertaining tho
Awesome professor, really fun class. Class material was super easy, just make sure you pay attention. Most of the material is either vocab or class lecture related. Attendance is highly encouraged for learning and doing go on tests, but it's not mandatory.
I love this RateMyProfessor for a couple reasons. 1) The amount of glazing from simpleton finance bros with no job offers for this wannabe motivational fraud because he teaches using sports metaphors genuinely brings me joy. 2) Every once in a while you'll see someone who gets it and calls out his subjective, simplistic, and antiquated antics.
eighty percent of ur grade comes from the exams are crazy...
Absolutely NOT for visual learners. Provides NO materials aside from the textbook and expects students to remember every little detail from his lectures - 90% being life stories and old videos. Graded by quizzes and exams. Super cocky it gets annoying. If you're a great listener and can bear with this, this class will be easy. Laptops not allowed.
Outgoing guy and engaging lecture. A lot of life stories/advice. His personality is honestly refreshing to see from a professor. EXAM HEAVY. Attendance not mandatory, but do not recommend skipping. Exams include lecture/book material, examples/activities/videos/etc. shown IN class. Also research participation requirement. Makes class do the wave.
Strange character...definitely not a guy I'd be friends with. Just a really basic, preachy business professor with questionable teaching methods. But idk just show up to class and it's pretty easy + he gives almost no homework. Odd fellow
Lecture heavy and vocab heavy for exams. One of the easier 300's classes I've ever taken. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will definitely miss out on a lot of exam questions if you don't attend. Neck likes to boast about himself a lot, but just suck it up :)
Love the class, genuinely great content that is genuinely important in life. BUT academics/grades wise, it sucks cause your grade is based off only a few things. Some exam questions are soooo specific from the text/lectures which makes it hard to study for. DONT skip class, exam questions are from class lectures/guest speakers.
I love this professor he is so great and interactive it makes the class go by quickly. He gives out free baby bottles of Tabasco and occasional T- Shirts. To pass the exams, study the lecture notes, MGT review section, and read the chapters in the self leadership book. It's really not bad and even the textbook is interesting. Easy to pass the class
How did yall pass
This professor is honestly not the worst, but this class repeats a bunch of the same things. He does show a lot of movie clips, which isn't bad. I hate how these clips are included in the test. The quizzes are simple, but the test is 40 questions, and half of the stuff you have to learn from the book, and it is so heavy on your grade.
This class is a gem. Just take it. Screw the grades. Take this class for your life. Put down the phone and take a couple notes. Pay attention and you'll learn smth you didn't know you needed. Neck is a great professor. He's motivated and knowledgeable and he's a funny guy fr. I'm not tryna glaze him, he's still just a guy but take him if you can.
Great Professor with a good and useful class. I learned a lot throughout the semester and none of the material or tests/quizzes were too hard. One of my favorite classes I have taken at asu it is not only a useful class but the professor is funny and made showing up to class enjoyable.
I don't know why this professor has so many good reviews. He spends the whole class talking about himself and teaches his subject material like it's super deep rocket scientist level stuff, but it's super surface level. Textbooks are mandatory and if you don't go to lectures you're not gonna get a good grade. Tests on the most random details.
Despite his teaching not exactly fitting my learning style, Dr. Neck imparts wisdom beyond just getting a good grade. I found his lectures to be super inspiring, GO TO CLASS AND READ THE BOOKS! If you don't do this, you will get a bad grade and it will be your own fault. MUCH better than an icourse. Be sure to talk with him, he's kind and helpful!
True professional and a master of teaching. The material learned in this class are things that can be applicable to anything in life. Take this class. You won't regret it and will walk away with some powerful lesson.
I barely give reviews here but probably top 3 of my favorite classes I've ever taken. Class is lecture/textbook heavy, tries to make the class enjoyable which is more effort than most professors give. Pay attention and attend class, you will get something out of it. People who complain about exams either didn't show up or look at the textbooks.
Absolutely wonderful class and professor. He makes thing engaging and fun in class. Lectures are equally as important as the textbook. I missed an exam and still got a B.
He loves participation and gives out free merch for it. Make sure to read the book material before exams! He's not kidding about it being on the exams! No final and classes are super chill. He really is probably one of the most influential profs on campus if you let him. Go in with a bad attitude and you won't get anything out of his class.
Believe all of the 5 star ratings. Neck is a very straightforward professor, his lectures are very engaging, and as long as you follow what he says to do in terms of quizzes and exams, you will do great in this exam. There is no work to do for this class, outside of one research credit assignment, and studying for quizzes/exams the day of/before.
Professor Neck is an amazing professor, truly made my professional and personal life better. This class teaches you valuable lessons for school, work, and life. Please take Professor Neck if given the opportunity, you won't regret it. Attendance is not graded, but it is required to do well in class so keep that in mind.
Neck is absolutely a great professor and I lovs his passion however I just hate this pattern no homeworks and 80% from ur exams is just crazyyyy...makes me so stressful
I don't like the energy in here. This class is about ac
“This class is about achieving goals; i also don't like the energy in here” You will hear that every day. Class is so boring and a waste of ur time, attendance isn't mandatory but questions are on test from lecture. Stupid movie clips too and test is 20% of ur grade. Only 3 quizzes and 4 Test. Dumb
What makes this class so good? Someone explain why.
It really makes a difference when the professor wants to be there, makes lectures engaging, and offers personal advice to students. He made his class as fun as possible and offered a lot of resources to students. Exams are based on in reviews at the end of the book and lectures, and quizzes are just on chapter vocab. Very easy class.
go to class and read the book. that's literally it. Dr. Neck came off as weird at first but he has a way with connecting with his students. a true master at teaching and professional. Take this class, you won't regret it. lesson are applicable to all aspects of life and is refreshing compared to all of the professors who don't care.
Exam worth 80% of our grade. That means each question you get wrong is -0.5 OFF FINAL GRADE (160 questions in total) For every exam you have to memorize 250+ definition and book details, everything he and guest speakers said in class (EVERY SINGLE WORD). Study time needed for this class is not worth it for a MGT class. Neck is inspirational tho.
The only thing you get grades for are tests and quizzes, also attendance isnt mandatory but so much dumb stuff from the lectures are on the tests.
This class has a lot do with self motivation and leadership so you will be getting a lot of motivational speech in class. Make sure to take notes of everything in lectures because it will come out in exams. Professor does tend to talk about himself a lot. Read all textbook material and lecture notes for exams. Laptops not allowed in class.
Honestly this guy is kinda annoying. I can't explain it. Like a motivational coach that doesn't sit right with you I guess. Exams were a bit ridiculous, questions would be on the most specific stuff buried deep inside the book. Those exams are worth 80% of your grade. Class felt like a waste. You go for the 5 exam questions on them. Glad I'm done.
i loved the professor and the way he taught his class, although it's very test heavy and it's easy to end up with a B in the class unless you're scoring high As on every exam.
Crazy guy, really enjoyed his lectures, they were engaging. attendance isn't mandatory BUT he doesn't post lecture notes so you HAVE to go since all exams are 50% lecture, 50% - 2 textbooks. 4 exams - IMO very easy, 4 quizzes - 1 gets dropped, only definitions from the textbooks. Overall, he is very entertaining, a little egotistical but fun
Professor Neck is amazing! He actually cares about his students and will teach you so much about life if you just listen to him. If you study even a little bit you will pass easily. Best class I ever took at ASU, and he's an amazing person!
I always try the work and get use to the class before the first week of school, I've always used lockdown browser and honorlock and fine with both but he won't allow the test to be done without an "EXTERNAL" camera,so stupid and I barely complain
This external camera is so annoying. Why can't you just do it with a regular camera
80% exams are fine but the cam was frustrating, especially people that don't like being watched and they get a side angle as well Class is a 4/5 But just use honorlock or something
Dr. Neck brings great energy in his lectures, and is very good at explaining the course material in an understandable way.
I honestly think he is very condescending and full of himself and it comes accross in his teaching. Spends half of the time on rants about his personal life or things that barely apply to the class. Class isn't hard but get ready to suffer through lectures. Thinks everyone will cheat on exams and requires you to buy an external webcame.
He is nice but annoying. 55% of his lectures focus on his life rather than the concepts. He asks detailed questions in the exam. External webcam is mandatory like just make it in person bro. I dread this class. Test heavy and lots of reading. He really asks the smallest of details from books and lectures.
I honestly don't understand how people can dislike this guy, say what you want this man CARES about teaching. He makes the lectures interesting and helps relate concepts in class to personal anecdotes which are usually hilarious. He keeps the energy going 100% every class, and breaks up class time with videos and activities to keep the energy.
Doesn't even feel like a class, feels like going to a comedy show. very fun dude. Just study hard for the tests, easy multiple choice question exams (uses lockdown browser). He tells you EXACTLY what's going to be on his tests (attendance mandatory for lecture notes). Best professor at ASU so far, hands down.
Class is fairly easy to get a good grade in, but getting an A can be tough. You have to remember random details and get lucky on all the tests.
Neck is actually the best Professor I've had in ASU so far he is very engaging and you can tell he loves to do his job. You definitely have to be in class if you want to pass, but it's once a week you should be able to do it. (make sure to take notes) , He had some health issues recently, hoping he recovers fully. So much love and respect for him
Exams are difficult if you don't write down every single minute detail. Also, no backtracking on exams can be annoying. An external webcam is required for exams, which is annoying; he should just have them in person.
Glorified COM 101 class. Horrible teaching pace since its always about him. Reading so much chapters just to be tested on one chapter and then a few questions from lecture which is incredibly niche. Glazed too much. Ext webcam needed and backtracking in exam not allowed. Like just make it in person. Go with another prof.
Said he goes out of his way to make classes specifically on Fridays so that only the ones that cared the most show up. Exam questions are about the most random niche facts buried in both the textbooks and lectures. Invites his friends in as guest speakers where they'll babble for an hour about how they "overcame xyz adversity and you can too!!!"
Crazy to see how many bad reviews recently, he definitely found out that people were passing too easily
wouldnt take again
Some of the hate is unreal. YES his lectures are long and even tho there not technically mandatory they are. HOWEVER, he's a awesome guy and cares a lot. He gave 3 extra points on exam 1 and 5 on exam 3. Quizzes were also waived to help us study for exams. It's definitely not a easy class but he clearly gives a yk what.
This class is 3 hours of what could've been an email. Pretty narcissist guy, but otherwise boring. Don't read the textbook and just remember the key words he uses, same with lecture (except when a guest speaker comes), just remember the movies and the concept why he's teaching the movie. It should be an online class, but his pride won't allow him.
Low key I have a horrible memory which really hurt me on exams because there are questions that force you to recall things said in lecture. HOWEVER, I managed to get an A-. Go to class. Take notes. Actually study. I got a 72 on the first exam and 92+ for the others. Just lock in for that hour and 15 minutes and you will do just fine.
A top 3 professor I've had at ASU. He comes prepared & passionate about teaching the class. Shares a ton of valuable life feedback and made it enjoyable. Classes can be long but he invites guests speakers, shares movie clips, and hands out free stuff. Exams are a little tedious with the content, just show up to class and read the material.
He spent the last quarter of the semester in the hospital, which is ironic because he was always telling us that he is the healthiest man out there (he said he is going to live to 120 y/o). The course was easy if you attend every lecture, but they're so long and drag on. Your grade is made up of 4 exams and 4 quizzes, but for us he waived 3 quizzes
Professor Neck is an amazing professor. I would definitely take him again if he taught any higher MGT classes. The tests are 50% lectures and 50% from online textbooks. Lectures are mandatory - but the 3 hours I had him went by incredibly fast because he engages in the class and cares about your success.
Great professor with strong energy and a philosophical, engaging teaching style. Super kind and genuinely cares about students. Class was easy but still interesting, never boring. Even after missing time, it was very manageable. Zero complaints. Do not miss lectures as exams are 50% lecture material 50% textbook.
