He's always their to help student even if it doesnt necessarily have to do with the class. Nice, easy going guy. If you can take a class with him I highly recomend it.

By far, my fav teacher at ncc, i've taken 3 of his classes, and i miss him already this semester. He has a poli sci club, if you love his class,get in the club, you'll love it. His great personality and easy going lectures make the class a gathering, not torture.An excellent teacher take his class.

The best professor I ever had. He likes to get all points of view heard. No Homework and there is only a mid-term and a final with Identifications and an essay or two. A term paper is also required, but it didn't seem to be difficult. Likes the Yankees a lot and is a conservative democrat.

He is a great teacher that explains the subject clearly and truly likes teaching. One of my best teachers at NCC, and he doesnt give much work. Classes are enjoyable and interesting, i highly recomend taking his class.

An example of what teaching should be. the type of person who makes you want to be a teacher, though you know you could never measure up to the fine example he sets for his students. A fantastic guy as well, down to earth and funny to boot. No airs about him though he is brilliant.

It takes him a very long time to grade papers so you don't always know what your grade will be, but he's always willing to help you out in any way he can; he will allow rewrites on essays. Int. Relations: this guy is one of the reasons I'm becoming a teacher. He's very into what he teaches, very personable, and has a lovable personality. I didn't lift a finger preparing for his work, there is no HW, and if you pay attention and participate in discussions, you are basically set for his exams. There is some reading though. Great prof.

Prof. Poulios is amazing. He is so insightful about Poly Sci. The man is a genious, he went to Harvard, BU, and is getting his doctorite from Fordham. He will give you extra time on papaers which are not that difficult if you put the time into them. Gives great lectures, and there is zero use of the textbook in class. TAKE HIS CLASS!!

I have also taken his POL 205. He is a great teacher. Very helpful and extremely understanding. I never read for his classes. Be there for his lectures. He has you do papers instead of tests. There not hard if you were in class. May have to use the textbooks as reference. Take him!

he's knows his history, i had for the summer session. there was no tests but weekly essays. he's a bit of a go-hard on the essays but its not too bad.

Prof. Poulios was my favorite teacher this semester, I really enjoyed his class. I definitely recommend him, he provides you with typed notes for every class, and we only had 4 assignments all semester, no tests. He also gives you a lot of insight and comments on your papers.

Russian History was great with him b/c of his passion for the country. He only does essays though so if you're not great at writing and prefer MC tests this is not the class for you. He is always willing to help you and is overall a very fascinating professor. I wish I knew about him earlier b/c I'd take all my history classes with him!

This past semester, I took two classes with Prof. Poulios, which are POL 260 (International Relations) and HIS 235 (History of Russia Since Peter the Great). I've taken this professor every semester as a student at the college, and he is always late to class, but extremely likable, friendly, and accommodating. He is the best in all of NCC.

Proffesor Poulios was one of the best college professors I've ever had. He is a such a smart and engaging man and you always walk out of class knowing that you learned something new. He's "chalk and talk" as he put it, and never used technology. Old school, amazing and brilliant. This is what college is all about.

He was overall an amazing professor! His lectures were well informed and on point! He had great discussions with the students, and answered any questions you had. The only down side was that he took forever to grade essays (I only received 1 essay back) which kind of sucks cause you don't know how you're doing overall in the class.

He isn't clear on his third paper. Tough grader and never hands back papers till a month later. You can't even revise them because he hands them back towards the end of the semester. Went to his office on the last day and there were other students waiting and he never showed up. Terrible

Basically every week he gives you a sheet of notes all numbered through out the semester. Little to no note-taking. No homework. Doesn't take attendance at all. Allows a lot of senior observers in the class, if you don't know are elderly people who get to attend class for free and take no tests or do any work. He never ever gives work back on time

This is an essay based class. 3 take home essays and 1 in class final essay. He takes a while to give papers back. I had no idea how I was doing in the class for more than half of the semester because he was that bad at giving papers back.. besides that he makes the subject interesting and I don't even follow or care about politics

Prof Poulios is a great person and a very old fashion educator. if you excel at classes that are videos movies only avoid him . But if u don't mind listening to a well educated man walk you through a whole class without pictures and movies hes your man. If you show up and follow guidelines for papers you should have no problems.

Professor Poulios is one of the best professors I've had at Nassau. He's incredibly knowledgeable about political science and he teaches the material in an easy to understand way. He passes out handouts for each topic in class, so you don't need to buy the textbook. He's also a really cool guy who's always willing to help you get a better grade.

Took 2 different classes w/ him by coincidence and can't put into words what a great prof he is. You can really tell he cares about his students and is willing to have a dialogue in class. If you have any interest at all in history or politics take one of his courses. If 4 essays/semester doesn't scare you then his class will be a breeze.

If u know ur history, its a breeze. He tends to repeat the same things all the time tho, which can get annoying sometimes.

Two short essays, a research paper and an open notes final. Not a tough grader. Gives outlines for every lecture. Most clear and to the point teacher I've ever had. Just put your best effort into your papers and you will do well.

Ugh Im gunna miss Poulios so much. Only 2 papers (Both take home), and a research paper. No tests or HW. Great personality, the lectures get boring but you pay attention just bc you respect him so much. I wish all the professor were like him. This professor doesn't care if your late.. as long as you get the work to him your fine. On the day of the final he came in the room and gave us the booklet then left for the whole class time, he doesn't care if your on phone he talks and talks the whole class time he does get boring but if you do the papers you will get an easy A

This guy is such a nice man, who knows his stuff inside and out. Yes he's very lenient with attendance, but I don't recommend missing his class because of the amount of info your getting out of him is unreal. His lectures aren't boring, he's very energetic with his teaching. He can teach you alot. An education and a diploma are not the same thing.

He is a great teacher - he usually takes lead with lectures though, so you do have to half force your participation. However, his work is very easy and light, consisting of a few essays, one research paper, and in my case essentially an opinion paper for the final. He does stutter, however that is not a big issue to me. Its hard to fail him.

Quite possibly the best Professor Ive ever had. I go to Fordham now and I wish there was a Professor like prof. Poulios. He provides great notes. If youre absent he makes sure you have all handouts and that you are caught up. You can tell he loves his job and wants to see all his students succeed.

I am terrible with history but Professor Poulios is an amazing teacher. His class is very lecture heavy but he gives pre-written notes out before each class. If you follow along & read the notes handouts, you will do well. Participation is not mandatory & he provides many opportunities for extra credit and gives a lot of feedback on all work.

Im taking HIS 106 and he is a great professor. He lectures for the full hour and 15 minutes but it is not boring at all. He knows everything, and can and will answer any question you have related to the material. Also extremely understanding with the current situation of everything being online due to Covid 19, great professor all around

One of my favorite professors I've ever had. He's passionate about the subject and teaches it well. He is very fair when it comes to grading and does not overload you with a ton of assignments. Very easy and entertaining class, it's a must take.

Hes very passionate about what he teaches. He would give his opinion in class but would never impose it as fact or truth he ensured that it is ok to disagree with him. He does stutter but it isnt a hindrance to his teaching skills. Two papers, a research paper to a topic pertinent to the subject and a final exam in the form of an essay.

This is a review for both History 104 and 106. This professor is amazing. 4 essays that are each maybe 2-3 pgs throughout the semester. Allows rough drafts. Seriously, if you can't get an A in this class then something is wrong with you. Super easy, not a tough grader, and very enthusiastic when giving lectures in class.

I have learned a lot on this topic while doing research and writing my papers. Professor seems to love his job and knows his topics very well.

This class was a breeze. He gives you his notes on paper as he adds on information with his lectures. There is only three papers which he gave us around 2 weeks to do each one and the final two essays which were open book. He let us bring in the paper with the prompt on it and let us write all over it so it was easy.

He's a Harvard University Graduate, and one of the best professors at the college. Very compassionate and open-minded. Textbooks are optional as long you complete the assignment handout pages with a few essays and you'll pass his class. Want an A? Then participate in class and discuss the many topics in the subject with him and you'll get it.

AMAZING PROFESSOR! I wish all of my professors were like him. He keeps you engaged during the lectures and is very easy to follow. Doesn't give tests, only essays (which I prefer). Prof. Poulios is easily one of the best professors at NCC. His lectures are incredible and break down historical events and concepts in great detail. He only gives 3 essays and no homework or tests. He also gives a very unbiased and fair account of history, unlike most professors who tend to inject their political views into their curriculum.

A very easygoing professor. Although he was dealing with some health issues in the fall semester, he made sure to communicate anything with us over email or in class. The class was delightful and I learned some new things about American history that I didn't know beforehand. He's also a great person to chat with and receive feedback from.

He was one of the best professors I had this first semester. He made things easy to understand, especially for ESL students. There will be essay assignments, but rest assured, you'll pass, just take notes, and listen during his class, which will provide the answers to the essay questions.
