Lectures are scattered, NOT like Rossi used to teach it. Dr Pryor changed the exam format 3 times, and he specifically said he made the class hard because he didn't care about student feedback. He calls people out in class (on video) by first and last name. Also, no textbook and no powerpoints. Take this with Rossi but NOT with Pryor.
I mean the class is unnecessarily difficult but if you try hard enough he offers enough extra credit to fail 2 tests and still get an A. I heard he made some girl handing out smokin notes coupons cry, and he constantly changes the exam format. Strange class but it'll probably be better next semester.
Dr Pryor is one of the best instructors I've ever had. He makes the classes very entertaining and interesting. If you need to take a 4 credit hours class I highly recommend this one!!! you won't regret it
Yeah, the class was probably too hard. But my God, he makes the extra credit rain! I think with just a couple of changes, this could be one of the best classes at UF. The people who wish Rossi was still the teacher probably just wanted an easy store-bought A. Pryor cares, and it shows.
I loved having Pryor as the professor, he truly cared about the students. He took the time to learn many of our names and really took our feedback to heart. I think he did a great job teaching the course.
I really enjoyed this professor's class. Some of the exams are challenging, but if you take notes and study yo should have no problems. Professor Pryor wants you to pass and goes out of his way to help you and offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. I found his lectures entertaining unlike others that put me to sleep.
Like everyone says: Pryor cares. He also really wants feedback and tries to change to accommodate feedback (perhaps too much), so I don't know what that first reviewer's on about. It's also not that hard. I've got like a 120% ... lolz. Got to admit, the weekly venture concept discussions are cool, too, even if they are a little repetitive.
Easy class and easy material, no textbook. I didn't care for his lecturing style, but to each his own. The venture concept and video at the end seems to just be busywork. I don't think I learned much at all in the class, and the lecturer didn't seem to know anything about entrepreneurship. But easy A.
Cut the guy some slack because it's his first semester, but IMO this class is not up to par with the level of instruction I expect at UF. Disappointing.
I think he's a pretty good professor. Mind you this is his first semester at UF and first semester teaching this class, so there may be things he can improve. Overall, I think people would definitely enjoy this class. Unfortunately, he has to give exams to make sure students are learning, but I feel like if he didn't have to he wouldn't.
I enjoyed Dr. Pryor's teaching skills and how connected he chose to get with his students.
I have always been a better multiple choice test taker so the extended response exams were a little more difficult to handle.
The professor should be more clear about what were he going to teach in each week. There are no text book, but at least he should provide the slide of the information in each class, so that it will be guid the students, and help students catch up the main point of each class.
Not the easiest course but not as hard as people are making it seem. My main issue is the way his written exams were graded. TA's grade them, not him, and that results in unfair/inconsistent grading depending on which TA is lenient and which TA is not. He also changed the exam format 3 times (WHY). Really scattered class/professor in general.
Looks like you either love or hate Pryor. Count me in the 'love' camp!
He's a great professor who is truly passionate about this field of interest. Take this class!
I really enjoyed Dr. Pryor's lectures. While the exams were challenging, I think it really demonstrated what he was teaching. If you work for it, you will succeed. Failure isn't fatal and can be overcome with effort. There were plenty of ways to get EC, and Dr. Pryor helped anyway he could. Take good notes, be involved, and ask for help!
so many extra-credit opportunities its impossible to not have the grade you want. Don't particularly care for his lecture style, since there is no power points or books to reference, it was kinda of hard to know whats important and what's just ramble. Smokin' notes were a must for me, but i only watch lecture the first couple of weeks.
definitely did not enjoy how some of the exams were written responses. he hates smokin notes so don't bother reading those.
I wouldn't take another class by him.
I had a very goodly time in Doctor's entrepreneurship coures. I learned alot about entreprenerrship and how to start a business. And he is a very good dresser; probably non one else at UF seems to even know what a necktie is.
The exams are the only hard part about this class. He gives out tons of extra credit, so that makes up for the lost points on the exam. The lectures can be long, but he makes it interesting by telling funny stories. It was his first semester at UF, so he's still trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. He really cares about everyone.
The review directly below is a great example of why this site is a problem. The guy cracks a couple of jokes about his mom over the course of 3 months, and for that you give him a 1 on helpfulness? Seriously, the people who are marking "1"s for Pryor have real psychological problems. And the guy right below me is a perfect example.
I agree with several comments here. Yes--it's his first semester and yes he has big shoes to fill with Rossi. But it's also true that he has a strange obsession with himself. He even emailed us the link to this page so we would rate him better. Exams were overly difficult, and there was no need to change the exam format every time.
He seemed happy with that very first post, and he did not ask us to rate him here, + or -. Nobody asks for negative feedback more than he does -- can you name any other prof at UF? If you rate him less than a 4 or 5 on 'helpfulness,' you're just sticking it to him. He responds to emails super fast, and he's always available when I've stopped by.
The GatorRator evaluation window just closed, so I'll post this here. I've never had a professor in the business school who was as passionate about his subject than Dr. Pryor. I've also never had a professor who talked so honestly about wanting to do a better job and asking for our opinion. I'm declaring an entrepreneurship minor because of him.
Lots of busywork, hard exams, NOT an easy elective
this was the best class I've ever taken. he's easy, he's interesting, and he's good looking. take this class if you want to pursue any type of entrepreneurial life.
He gave awards today to students, a fancy trophy to the top TA, and he even had flowers delivered today, during class, for our video technician/director. People act like this guy kills cats in his off days, but he's clearly got a kind heart and has no shame. He'd get 5s from me, just because he taught a class with a fake mustache once.
We just finished up, and I have to admit, I really appreciated this course. It has actually changed the way I see the world, which is something I can't say about any other class I've had. We're students, so we complain about exams -- that's what we're supposed to do! Pryor always treated me fair, and I know he worked hard to treat everyone fair.
Just finished my peer evals. Those videos were awesome! What a great final assignment.
Disorganized, more difficult than it needed to be, I really didn't learn much about entrepreneurship even though I watched all of the lectures. Prof should try less gimmicky stuff and actually teach.
Tough class, unnecessarily time consuming and hard.
So great!
Super cool guy. I feel that material wise I didn't learn that much, he teaches more of a mindset. It was a great class and great experience. I would take it again in a heartbeat. I got a 99% in the class.
So not great! Two of my friends who were in this class had to drop.
Is it possible in "Rate-My-Professor-Ville," that a class requires a lot of work AND be rated highly? From these reviews, it seems not. I got like a 100+ in this class. If you had to drop this course, I'd question either your work ethic or your aptitude for college. Instead, you should consider vocational training at your local community college.
I also got an A in this class but cannot recommend it. I learned absolutely nothing, lectures were dry and uninteresting. I took this as an elective and wish I would have taken something different.
What a bad experience.
Not like it was the worst class or the best class.
It's pretty cool how they record this class. It's like TV!
Nice class. Take it, or don't take it.
If you want to know the professor's opinion on the articles of clothing those in the class are wearing on a day to day basis, this is the class for you!
Easy class with lots of extra credit, but unnecessary exam changes and pretty uninteresting lectures. Take if you want an easy A. But beware last minute changes
Wonderful!
Going to class was a lot like walking to K-Mart, getting lost, and ending up at Target instead. In other words, it was wonderful!
The real evaluations come out tomorrow. In the meantime, count me as a 5/5! And I actually filled out a Gator Rater.
High five!
Hey folks. There aren't going to be any exams in the spring, just in case you were thinking of taking this class. Believe me -- I'm going to be a new TA in the spring. Don't let the assortment of bozos below discourage you from ENT 3003 -- it's going to be an awesome experience!
He changed the test format for every single exam within a week of it, which totally threw me off every time. The grading was extremely slow. Two of the exams were just five essays which took two weeks to grade. The online multiple choice exam also took over a week to grade. His tests made almost zero sense and i went into them feeling confident.
The class was just okay. The exams were pretty easy but the material and delivery were dry and kind of random. I expected to have Rossi.
None of the lectures this semester have been longer than 20 minutes, and most are under 10 minutes long. There are no tests or exams. The teacher wants us to 'learn by doing,' and a lot of the assignments are actually pretty fun. This is NOT the same class as last semester. Time will tell if its better or worse. But so far, so good.
I really like the format! I've been saying UF should go experiential on all of my course evaluations. Seems like this guy has taken it to heart.
I don't know about last semester -- but this semester? It's very cool. And I think the teacher really knows her stuff!
The teacher's funny. Nice powerpoints. His taste in music ... ain't so good. What can you expect from a self-admitted clarinet player, though!
Class is SUPER fun! "Lectures" are PRACTICAL. And, occasionally, hilarious. Take it, take it, take it!
When students complained about an exam last semester - Dr. Pryor scheduled additional office hours to review exams individually... 6 AM to 7 AM on a Monday.
Finally a practical class and a professor who puts students first! No tests or exams. Super understanding professor and challenges you to learn by doing rather than just reading and memorizing. Some of the work is a pain but it is very very easy and he is a wonderful professor!
Awesome class!
Dr. Pryor really pushes you out of your comfort zone. That's what an entrepreneurship course should do. The exercises are built to help us experience entrepreneurship, and they come at a steady pace through the semester.
You know exactly what you have to do to pass this class. The assignments are clear (and mostly pretty easy). The teacher even records "How To" videos for many of the assignments. And, he offers a letter grade's worth of extra credit at the very beginning. What more could you want?
So easy! And it's like a scavenger hunt. Love it.
Git ready to work your tail off. But ALL of the assignments are completion grades. If you try, you get an A.
Best MBA class I've ever taken at UF. Bore yourself to death in the other classes. Or take Pryor. The choice is yours.
Pryr is the MAN! Very down to earth and innovative in helping students learn
I love that we get to grade ourselves. I also love that there aren't any exams. I also love that it's different. I've heard my friends in the class talk about how childish or frivolous this class is. That's actually amazing, given how hard Pryor makes us work. If we work this HARD, and the class still feels fun and easy, then that's a good thing.
Great
Completely different format for class and I loved it! No studying and exams but you will have many projects that you'll learn from. You grade yourself and have complete control. Expecting to finish with an A and wishing more professors would take a note from Prof Pryor. Enough of the memorizing! Must take!
I did not like this class or this professor. Too much busywork.
What is busy work? Pryor actually asked the class which exercises we thought were busy work, so that he could adjust those. I personally didn't think there was any busy work, but for those of you who did -- at least he wants to make adjustments for you! What other professor even asks?
This class was a lot of work and really pushes you out of your comfort zone. I got very frustrated at times but Pryor always listened to our concerns and offers plenty of extra credit. He definitely cares about his students. Class set up was different from any I've taken, it was actually nice for a change. Make your best attempts and you'll do well
Although there isn't any tests, there is a lot of online blog work to be done. As long as you stay on top of your blog posts, it is extremely easy to get an A. Do the extra credit posts on yellowdig - I completed 105 points worth of posts in yellow dig(which is very little) and it bumped me from a 95 to 101. Would recommend.
Aside from being devastatingly handsome, Dr. Pryor is an innovative, fun professor. I learned without ever feeling like I was working, which is great. Lectures are segmented and easy to watch, and extra credit abounds. There are so many opportunities to get an A. Take this class!
Principles of Entrepreneurship was an easy class that requires you to read the textbook every so often to write a reflection and participate in random assignments meant to get you out of your comfort zone. As long as you stay on top of your assignments, you should do well. No exams.
Awesome teacher who makes it interesting and fun while still making us learn the process of entrepreneurship
Do not take this class if you expect that you can do it online and especially if you do not have transportation. You will be required to interview a large amount of people. Grades are either 100% or 0 you do not get partial credit. He will tell you the class can be completed online however, that is not the truth.
The workload on the syllabus is misleading and does not post exercises until after drop/ add period. Assignments are repetitive and unnecessary. The TA's are slow at grading as well meaning that if you misunderstood one assignment it is likely you will do poorly on future ones because they will not have the first one graded in time for feedback.
Man, I just love this guy. Of course, overly sensitive people will dislike him because he is very opinionated. However, his course is straight to the point. He gives amazing lectures. Loved his course!
Lectures arn't long and he does a good job at keeping them interesting and entertaining.
He is amazing. His stories that are on the test aren't boring at all and you can tell hes passionate about what he does. To me he was hilarious and kind of awkward. Overall great class.
Dr. Pryor was BY FAR my favorite professor at UF. Inspirational, clearly cares for his students future, and flat out hilarious! Easy course, got a B but, could have done better if it were not due to the heavy load in the summer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
At first, I hated him b/c i didn't want to watch his lectures, but then I started to watch them b/c he lectures on personal stories and honestly he's an amazing lecturer and professor.
Excellent professor, very inspiring.
I think he's a great professor. His lectures are different but they are relevant if you pay attention you just have to learn to connect the dots yourself.
He's so terrible! Makes us work all the time. What a joke -- I'm going to miss football season because of him.
Yes. Lots of work. Yes. LOTS of extra credit. If you don't earn points on an assignment, it's because you probably can't read. The instructions and requirements are spelled out clearly. I've got like a 110 percent in the class right now, because I don't mess around. A lot of other students? They'd rather blame Pryor for their laziness.
Professor Pryor is really awesome and his class is pretty easy, you just have to do the discussions and you'll do awesome in the class. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with interviewing people and recording yourself DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. We had to record people about 3-5 about every week and record ourselves giving pitches.
Lots of work, very little substance. Was hoping to learn more about starting a business. Warm fuzzies don't suffice to make the $ nowadays. No tests though
Nobody gives more extra credit than Pryor. His class is pretty easy -- just need to meet weekly deadlines. Other than that, it's a piece of cake.
Easy.
Pryor bends over backwards to help.
He has been my favorite professor so far! He really cares about his students and wants you to learn the material. He is a good teacher. If you talk to him he will give you a lot of really good tips that have really helped me in some of my other classes.
Fun, Nice, Friendly, Knowledgeable, Reputable, Responsible. So don't hesitate, choose Pryor, best ENT instructor ever. You will regret if you study without him.
It'd put this in the top 15 classes I've taken at UF. Yes, it takes some work, but it's a 4-credit class. Say whatever you want, but there's no doubt that the teacher really wants all of the students to do well.
I'd rather be fishing... for his compliments
He is an AMAZING lecturer. He speaks so fluently and you can tell he knows what he is talking about. I watched lectures here and there so I could do the extra credit quizzes. Besides that, just know this class has a lot of homework, but its completion based only so I am finishing with an A. Super super easy as long as you actually do the work!
Dr. Pryor's class was the most enjoyable class I've had. Be warned, there is a lot of work and a lot of moments your comfort zone is stretched. However, it's so worth it! I learned a lot in his class - he makes it interesting (even at 9am) and fun. A judge-free, creative, and organized class that fosters innovation and growth.

Pryor is an enthusiastic professor and his class is great. There are no exams and if you do the work every week, you'll pull an A.
Super easy class, just time consuming at times. No exams at all, just weekly assignments. At times it felt like the hardest class just because of the recording assignments. Just manage your time and an A will be a given. You can also work ahead which is great!
Just started this semester but the class set up is weird - a good weird. I haven't been in a class like this before so I hope it works out. He seems like a nice guy so far.
This class was one of the best classes I took at UF. Professor Pryor is a great professor and he truly cares about his students' success. The class is set up so students have a chance to get out of their comfort zones and experience the 'real world'. It gets overwhelming at times because there are a lot of assignments but overall it's an easy A
Pryor gets you to think in different ways, collaborate and challenges you to learn by doing. He is entertaining, engaging and awesome. A refreshing change to lecture, study, exam style!
He's amazing! There is a lot of work, but I love that there are no exams.
Literally the coolest and most amazing professor on campus. His lectures are so much fun to watch because he's super goofy and funny while being incredibly knowledgable at the same time. He's young but don't let that fool you, this man is a true genius. There's a lot of homework to keep up with but most of it is fun! Take him or you'll regret it!
Oh yeah
The one-week business planning class is the best class in the UF MBA program. Period.
Grades just got posted. Wow. I got a B in this class, and I feel like I earned every bit of it. People, what you get out of this class what you put into it.
Pryor's a pretty unusual teacher, but he's (a) a sweetheart and (b) really wants people to succeed.
This guy is trying to reinvent the wheel, and really failing at it. I enjoyed the class style in some ways; tests aren't really a thing so just do the work and you'll get the grade. Boy is it busy work, and no one really even looks at your work. If you have to send 6 emails in the first 24 hours explaining how to just submit assignments...
Yes we can!
There's 200 students in the class this summer. I don't know how Prof. Pryor found the time, but he provided me high-level feedback on my elevator pitches and business concepts this semester. Other professors in the business school don't even return my emails. You may not like the class set-up, but the prof cares about his students. So rare!
I've had fun in this class. Thank God I'm not taking it in the fall though. I'd miss football season. LOL. But watching Pryor's lectures are almost as great as watching the Gators play football.
He's such a good teecher. This class easy and greet, too.
THis professer is so kind. I love him. An entrepreneur in Gainesville told me that the profeessr is the best at teaching entrepreneurship. She is right.
A: Everything is completion based. B: A whole letter-grade of extra credit. C: Need I say more?
I really love this professor. On days when more than 5 students come to class, he says she will buy donuts for everyone. Too bad it hasn't happened yet, because I like donuts. And Auntie Ann's Pretzles.
This professor provides feedback on every major assignment we turn in. I'm getting an MBA at UF -- I'm going to be a triple Gator! -- and no professor has ever spent as much time helping us do well on assignments as Pryor has. In class, by email, even over the phone, at all hours. He's always there to help. (Lots of work though!)
This is literally the perfect summer class. SO EASY! However there are a lot of assignments do every week, so I wouldn't put this class with 3-4 other classes, summer is where it belongs, no tests!
I got about halfway through the course before I realized there were lectures. If you don't want to take the extra credit quizzes, don't bother with lectures. Lots of homework, but if you do it, it's easy to get a good grade because it's completion, not correctness. I just didn't do it. All feedback is from TAs, not Prof Pryor!
Uh, those quizzes aren't extra credit, chief. Lol.
I love this class. He's so funny, and the class is great.
My advice was to start a policy of making reversible decisions before anyone left the meeting or the office. In a startup, it doesnt matter if youre 100 percent right 100 percent of the time. What matters is having forward momentum and a tight fact-based data/metrics feedback loop to help you quickly recognize and reverse any incorrect decisions.
In a startup no facts exist inside the building, only opinions
Have we identified a problem a customer wants solved? Does our product solve these customer needs? If so, do we have a viable and profitable business model? Have we learned enough to go out and sell? Answering these questions is the purpose of the first step in the Customer Development model, Customer Discovery.
Technology is adopted in phases by distinct groups: technology enthusiasts, visionaries, pragmatists, conservatives, and skeptics.
Great guy, easy class if you do the assignments. Highly recommended if you need an easy A course
He got a 4.7 on Gator Rater. Better than all the other Warrington teachers. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Awesome guy! Actually enjoyed watching his lectures. Would definitely take again.
TBH this class isnt hard, just repetitive and time consuming. We are forced to reply the same individuals every single week for the entire semester. I like his lectures as they are interesting but his assignments aren't that helpful. No exams, weekly quizzes that pull straight from lectures.
Loved this class, very easy but time consuming. He does give extra credit which is great, but you must participate and do the assignments to get an A. His lectures are very interesting and he's pretty funny too.
CGP is a great professor and an amazing guy. There are a lot of online homework assignments weekly but if you do them, then you'll pass. Doing the homework assignments can be fun if you approach them in the right light but they will be tedious and repetitive if you're in the class for an easy A. Lots to be learned and was a real blast!
Professor Pryor was a great teacher for the principles of entrepreneurship. He taught me what it is like to start you our business by actually allowing us to come up with a product or opportunity idea. I would love to take one of his courses again in the future
Professor Pryor was a great teacher for the principles of entrepreneurship. He taught me what it is like to start you our business by actually allowing us to come up with a product or opportunity idea. I would love to take one of his courses again in the near future
Professor Pryor's ENT3003 is extremely writing intensive, but with flexible criteria and a very easy-going grading system. He also gives extra credit (I currently have over 100% at the end of the semester, taking 4 other classes). If you want to really learn, this class will take up tons of your time. If you just want an easy A, you found it!
If you're looking for an easy A then you have found it. However, if you hate writing and busy work, do no take this class. I sometimes question if the easy A is worth the amount of time I put into this class, and getting little educational value in return.
This class is really enjoyable. It's a lot of small assignments, but if you keep up with it, it's not a difficult class. Dr. Pryor is a great lecturer and made the class enjoyable. This has probably been my favorite class at UF so far.
Easy, but great class! Dr. Pryor is an incredible individual. He learns your names and makes an effort to know who you are. He takes time to speak with you after class, answer your emails, (no matter how many and they were a lot)! He is a hilarious, honest & goodhearted person. Always honest. Take his class! He's definitely my favorite professor!!
Super easy class but a lot of work. You will get an A if you stay on top of it (like 2-3 assignments per week) but the assignments aren't hard just tedious.
This class is an easy A if you give it the time. There is a lot of homework and its easy to miss an assignment or 2, but there are extra credit opportunities. Professor and TA's are responsive and motivating. Pryor's lectures are entertaining and he shows genuine enthusiasm for his topics.
Dr. Pryor's lectures are full of great entrepreneurial information to help students who really want to find solutions to problems (opportunities). Listen to the lectures! He is animated and makes an online class not feel impersonal. He is accessible and responsive to students. Enjoyed this class.
He's the best ever.
Mr. Pryor is cool and his lectures are good but the actual class isn't. The quizzes are annoying and about nitpicky details of the class so you have to take them immediately after watching all the lectures or you'll forget the specific details. The class assignments are ok, and take a while to do but I didn't feel like I got a lot out of them
You will not eliminate cheating by changing the format of quizzes. All you do is hurt and stress out the students actually watching lectures and taking notes.
He seems to know what he's talking about, but he makes the mistake of going on a lot of tangents. In the beginning of the course he basically said "don't be an entrepreneur it sucks." That made me feel like I really shouldn't care about the class for the rest of the time. The assignments are blog posts so if you check all the boxes you'll get an A.
Lectures are enjoyable to watch and go by quickly. However I do not agree with punishing everyone with harder quizzes because there are some people cheating. Quizzes are extremely specific and nitpicky but the assignments are cake.
Funny guy, pretty interesting class. As long as you stay on top of the work and watch the lectures (which are not hard to get through) its an Easy A. In this class, your grade is entirely up to you.
This class gives you a good idea of entrepreneurship. Unfortunately, most other students are in the class to get an "easy A," and you have to do peer reviews for these bozos. But if you care about the content, you'll learn something.
My advice was to start a policy of making reversible decisions before anyone left the meeting or the office. What matters is having forward momentum and a tight fact-based data/metrics feedback loop to help you quickly recognize and reverse any incorrect decisions.
There's a lot of work, but it gets at heart of being entrepreneurer.
Class was interesting and pretty cool. Very easy to pass, just do the assignments, there's like 1 or 2 a week. Cupcakes (quizzes) are hard asf if you don't listen to the lectures, even then they're challenging but whatever they don't count that much. Cool guy, emailed him to fix my grade a couple times and he was quick to get me back on track.
Took it last semester. Not the best class but not the worst class either. You get out of it what you put into it. Tons of HW, much of it was tedious, time consuming and repetitive. What made it awful were the quizzes which were super annoying because they were nitpicky and required you to recall specific arbitrary/random details from the lectures.
Definitely enjoyed my chance to take this class.
He really loves this class, it shows. Maybe its contagious?
I loved this class because of Pryor. I actually watched his online lectures and enjoyed them, he is hilarious and clearly loves what he does.
Really funny professor that loves interacting with students. He really focuses on lectures, but most of the work consists of creating a business concept and expanding it through a blog. It is really easy work for the most part, but it can stack up if one isn't on top of it. Also, he does quizzes with material from the lectures, but are only 1 point
I had to create an account here just to express how much I hate this guy's class. By far one of the worst I've taken.. You have 7 assignments each week, for me all of them are useless and didn't get anything out of them. The cupcakes which is his way of calling quizzes are filled with small and trivial questions that are pretty stupid. Terrible.
Amazing class!
He's so right. In the early stages of a startup, focusing on execution will put you out of business
The one thing I learned in this class was really useful. Products are sold because they solve a problem or fill a need. Understanding problems and needs involves understanding customers and what makes them tick.
Dr. Pryor's really funny. And he'll spend hours with you coaching you for your startup. I really can't see any other professor spending that kind of time with students.
Dr. Prior is the kindest guy I know. He responds to emails instantly. He's supper cool. And I like the way he lectures. I'm an Art History major, and I'm talking with my advisor today about moving to the business school, all because of Prayor.
By far the worst professor I've ever taken. Had 1 graded assignment with two weeks left in class. Told the class that our grades were dependent on how often we asked for feedback but then would take weeks to get back to you (often after the assignment was due).
Pryor responded instantly to emails, provided feedback within days (and sometimes hours), and he even answered his phone! I became friends with him over the course of the semester. Take a look at his public GatorRater evaluations. He's one of the best at UF. The reviewer below must have just performed poorly.
I took Dr Pryor for a one-week intensive elective course for the Online MBA program at UF and he was wonderful. It was probably my favorite class of the entire program so far. His class was the perfect level of difficulty, emphasizing learning over grades or tests. I left with tons of meaningful takeaways.
Professor Pryor was easily one of my favorite professors at UF, his First 100 Days class was the only class I looked forward to. He is an enthusiastic teacher who shows up to class with a great attitude. His class is fun, enjoyable, and really helpful for real world entrepreneurial experience. Highly recommend taking his class.
Wow, I wish I could take all of Pryor's classes.
This was the best class I have taken in both my undergraduate and graduate degree. I was learning real life stuff instead of just attending lectures and reading a textbook. I look forward to Professor Pryor's class every week. It was so fun and engaging. Thank you for such an awesome time!
He purposely sets you up for failure. His lack of clear instructions when taking exams and simply not locking exams that are not open book is egregious. He does it to play with you. UF shouldn't allow someone so cocky, irresponsible, and unorganized to teach. If you stroke his ego, you'll do well. His writing class is a shame and a waste of time.
I'm the one who wrote the review below, and I wish I could take the review below back! I meant to post this for another professor, but accidentally put it on Pryor. Pryor doesn't teach a writing class at UF. Sorry, Dr. Pryor, you were amazing!
He just gave the best lecture I have ever heard. Wow.
Most of the grade is based on a group project where you have to compete with other teams for highest revenue by actually selling a product IRL. Daily quizzes were vague, oral, and used obscure textbook facts; project grading was not defined until the very end. Felt like he was making things up as he went, and was cocky and confusing along the way.
"Most of the grade is based on a group project where you have to compete with other teams for highest revenue by actually selling a product IRL." This actually sounds like a great class.
I learned a lot about strategy in this course. More than I would have if the class was based on a simulation. Pryor has strong opinions about the content he teaches, and he was hilariously critical of the textbook author. Some people didn't like that -- but is it better to have a teacher who doesn't care at all about the class material?
I thought I was going to go work for my dad's delivery company after graduating. Then, I took Dr. Pryor's class, and I started my own business. Could not have done it without him. That was 3 years ago, and I still call him for help.
Great teacher!
He's a classroom phenom.
The student below is right! This teacher writes all of his own reviews because Rate My Professor is a ridiculous web site. His actual student reviews are available at gatorevals.
He keeps quoting Xenephon. I'm like, "Xenewho?"
Can you believe this professor said that he cries in the movie Babe, when the farmer says "That'll do, pig." ? Well, he did.
He has an infectious smile. In a good way!
Professor Pryor is an incredible entrepreneurship educator. His passion for the subject is infectious, and his practical insights have been instrumental in shaping my entrepreneurial journey. He's approachable, supportive, and truly cares about his students' success. I'm grateful for her guidance and highly recommend him as a professor.
Professor Pryor is an absolute dynamo in the entrepreneurship realm! His classes are electrifying, filled with real-world insights, and innovative ideas. He's not just a professor; he's an inspiration. His passion is contagious, making learning a thrilling adventure. If you want an exciting entrepreneurship experience, he's the one to learn from!
He is a master strategist. His business strategy course was enlightening. He simplifies complex concepts, making them easy to grasp. His real-world examples bring theory to life, and his dedication to student success is commendable. A truly outstanding educator in the field of business strategy. Highly recommended!
Professor Pryor is a beacon of inspiration in the world of entrepreneurship education. Their kind and approachable demeanor fosters a nurturing learning environment where students flourish. With a genuine passion for imparting knowledge, they guide budding entrepreneurs with empathy and mentorship, shaping future leaders with care and wisdom.
Exceptional professor, ignites innovation, equips students for entrepreneurial success brilliantly.
Pryor brings great energy to class but is often rude and condescending. He swears he is smarter than the Professors who write the textbooks. He was rather new when I took his class, but I have since heard he has gotten better. I think he'll be a great professor after doing this for a little longer.
Pryor is a beacon of wisdom and humility in the realm of strategy education. With a profound understanding of complex concepts, they effortlessly convey lessons with approachability. Their humility fosters an inclusive learning environment, making even the most intricate strategies feel accessible. A truly wonderful guide in the academic journey.
Inspires innovation, imparts wisdom; a catalyst for entrepreneurial excellence. Exceptional mentor.
Professor Pryor, Is a great professor. There is a lot of group work. But there is a homework weekly/ you do with your group but it is not hard. Also, there are quizzes just 4 questions but the quizzes are not hard. He doesn't lectures instead tells stories. Great professor! Would take again!
Worst class I have ever taken in my life. His lectures cover nothing meaningful or truly useful as an entrepreneur. Give me back my time and money.
Review below is strange. Pryor doesn't lecture in MAN6636, it's a class where we discuss cases together. It's also not an entrepreneurship class, it's a strategy class.
Yeah, according to the public faculty evaluations, Pryor got a 4.7 / 5 for MAN6636 in Mod 2 of 2023. All the students I talked to really enjoyed the class, and that's reflected in the number.
Professor Pryor is an inspiring entrepreneur mentor. His classes ignite innovation and equip students brilliantly. Attending is a must, and Unstuck ai is a helpful study tool.
Professor Pryor is probably my favorite at UF. He is incredibly passionate about entrepreneurship and makes lectures feel very meaningful in terms of content and structure. His professional intuition and expertise are awesome and make this course very educational and enjoyable. I highly recommend him to any business student who can opt for ent6006.
I would recommend this course/professor to everyone. You analyze case studies and discuss them in class. It is a no technology class where everything is on paper. Each class, you have a quick quiz based on the textbook readings. Participation is 40% of your grade. Unlike any class I have ever taken and I would take it again given the opportunity.
His class is very very difficult and extremely hard to do well in. I had to put soooo many hours in a day just reading and studying for his quizzes, which are SUPER specific to the reading. He assigns like 50 pages from the textbook each class and expects us to remember every little thing we read. You also have to read cases on top of everything.
Lol. A textbook chapter and a case is assigned for each class session. Yeah, it's like 50 pages, but it isn't exactly challenging. If you can't read 50 pages over a few days, maybe college isn't for you!
I really thought Pryor was a nice guy and a great teacher. He is obviously excited by the material in class, and that excitement is contagious!
It's a discussion-based class. I've been in those before, and they're mostly failures, simply because few of us students do the reading. It's so awkward! But Pryor's got it figured out: a two-hour class feels like 30 minutes because the conversations are so lively!
What a wonderful teacher! Don't know why folks would say these evaluations are inflated. His public evaluations show that he's way above average at the university and the college. It's too easy for the haters to hate at RMP!
LOLOLOLOLOL
I love Pryor. Second class with him. If you can take a class with him DO SO! Very life changing. He really pushes you to do the thing! No textbook.
1. Be careful, he HIDES AI TRAPS in between case write up questions on the syllabus in 1pt white font so it blends in. Select all text, make text black, increase font size. (He will fail you for this btw, unless you know what the word means) 2. This class has absolutely 0 real world application, a bunch of textbook jargon for management lol
Best class I've taken in the MSE program at UF.
The classes are all about case discussions. The teacher does a pretty good job moderating the conversations, and the time flies by.
I think the professor tries really hard to give entrepreneurship students what they need to know when creating their own businesses. I wish the masters program, though, would do a better job selecting students who actually want to start a business versus get a degree.
Phenomenal!
I would take the class again. I thought he was funny. And he learned everyone's name. Our class had almost 70 in it. Some professors seem like they don't even know their own names!
Teacher helps you get out of your comfort zone. If you're willing to do the work, then you'll have an actual business, making actual money!, by the end of the class.
He won't let you pick your own teammates. I got stuck with someone WHO REALLY CARED ... you know how that is, lol.
Love the class. Pryor's a nice guy; sometimes tries too hard.
The worst part were the almost daily memos. But if you work the class, you'll get a long way toward starting your own business, no doubt!
This class is supposed to be easy, but is one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken. There is so much to read and remember, all for a management class.
If you care about your GPA, don't take this class. The professor makes the class unreasonably difficult and grades very harshly. He also speaks to students in a condescending way. Attendace is mandatory, or there will be points off. He also calls on students, so be prepared.
Do not take this class, unless you want to spend countless hours reading and memorizing every small detail.
It's a lot of reading, but classtime was fun. And the teacher was probably the best, nicest I've had at UF. But wow, we read a whole textbook, and a billion cases.
Most teachers seem students are nameless, faceless. With Pryor, he knew all of our names. He never called on students who didn't raise their hands ... but participation was required, so we got to know each other really well. By the end, it was a really tight group of students. The class was OK. Pryor building that espirit de corps? That was cool.
Teacher is really nice and tries hard to help students. The class, though? Lots of reading. And daily quizzes.
On the one hand, I hate cupcakes now! On the other hand, I'll never forget Porter's Five Forces or build, borrow, buy!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. This class is supposed to be easy, but is one of the most difficult classes. There is so much to read and remember, all for a management class. You need to know every single small detail. Quizzes/Tests are free response and he grades tough. He does not help you when it comes to extra credit.
This class was unnecessarily difficult. I spent hours reading, studying, and attending every class, but the grading felt unfair. Professor Pryor didn't give much guidance or support throughout the course, and his lectures were not very engaging. I wouldn't recommend taking his class if you don't want to be frustrated and overwhelmed.
This course was far harder than it needed to be. I put in a lot of time reading, studying, and showing up to every lecture, yet the grading still felt unfair. Professor Pryor offered little support. I wouldn't suggest taking this class unless you're prepared to feel stressed and overwhelmed.
UF shouldn't allow someone so irresponsible, and unorganized to teach. If you stroke his ego, you'll do well. His class is a shame and a waste of time
He's one of the best. In fact, my MBA class gave him an award last weekend for being our favorite teacher.
To be honest, he's getting kind of old. Nobody knew any of the movies he mentioned in class. And he kept quoting one, The Amazing Lebowski, or something? Over the line!
I took Prof. Pryor's class almost 10 years ago. I'm starting my second business now. He always picks up the phone when I call for advice. Great teacher has become a good friend.
