Mr Scott did not show any enthusiasm for the subject being taught. He spent the entire class period reading from the book which I could have done myself. He tought me in no way whatsoever and I was forced to learn from other methods.
He's a bit tough, but he's a great teacher. He tried to prepare you for the next level, and he gives excellent lectures
He should stick to Physics, and not math. Spend to much time of lestures on stuff that was not on the test. Funny personality, but horriable instructor. If you take him get a tutor!!!
Prof Scott was instrumental in my understanding of the connections between the metaphysical, the physical. What is the epistemological basis of calculus and the constraints imposed by Godel? He once said "if is the middle of the word life".
Mr. Scott has been the best math teacher I've ever had. His lectures are well organized, he's enthusiastic, and he encorporates real life problems from science in teaching algebra. His tests are just like the HW problems and he's very patient.

I had Mr. Scott in a multivariable calculus class in the fall of 2004 and he was one of the most enthusiastic teachers I've had in a long time. He always came prepared and his tests were reasonable. He tied the math to other classes like science which made the math less sterile. Very approachable.
He explaned stuff very good. I didn't want to take trig but he made it fun. He explains things in very good detail.
I can't believe he expected us to do homework.
Covers material quickly but clearly. Stay up on your homework to keep from falling behind. All the people whining on here are slackers. "I can't believe he expected us do homework" Hello, news flash, this is college, of COURSE he makes you do homework.
His tests are nothing like the homework. Understand principles not the HW problems directly. He will put similar problems on the test (not often at all) and quizes require one to stay on your game. VERY SMART GUY
don't expect him (or any prof) to be sympathetic if you're too lazy to do the reading and homework. he tries to make the material interesting, and relate it to real world stuff, and he's got a great sense of humor so his lectures are fun. the material is hard and he makes it about as clear as it can be, his labs are relatively easy.
Scott is a very cool prof. His class is easy to pass because he is lenient and because he knows how to explain the material. He is very helpful and does not mind going over certain problems one on one. Math is not interesting but he still manages to keep students awake by going off on tangents and telling funny stories and jokes.
best teacher ever! i enjoyed learning in his class! he was a very good teacher. we went step by step and his lectures were not hard to understand at all! i would definitely recommend him for a math course! i liked his jokes even if they were corny!!
Really funny guy, and very clear on what he wants from his students

Mr. Scott is such a great teacher. He writes everything on the board and gives a couple of hist as to what are on the test. He goes pretty slow so even i could keep up.
Mr. Scott makes a difficult subject very easy to understand.
Mr scott. is a really good teacher. He understands you as a person and will try very hard to help you understand the subject matter. He is enthusastic and walks really fast. haha. His tests are not that difficult, as long as you know the basics you should do fine. Do your homework and be profficient in the basic skill and you will succeed in his class.
I took trig before with another instructor & I was so confused (I'm usually pretty good at math) I ended up dropping. I retook it with Scott & he made trig crystal clear. His exams aren't easy but he does so well explaining the material it shoudln't be a problem if you pay attention.
Excellent teacher! He clearly explains everything and is available if you need extra help. One thing...he's ALWAYS late to class. Overall, a great teacher!
He is so easy this semester. This is a chance for you guys want to get an A for calculus and physics. Just take his class as soon as posible. You guys do not see his easiness like that if he changes back as the past.
Put your seatbelts on, be prepared to take a ride...Recommend not taking any other science classes with this one..if your looking to understand all the info. He gives you a lot of help to get an A.
Teacher is awsome. Funny guy, good sense of humor. Tests are very fair. I highly recomend him.
Professor Scott is an excellent instructor. His lectures are very clear and understandable. The test are easy because he goes over the problems by giving his students a Pre-Exam. He is very handsome so try to pay attention ladies!
cool guy but i deserved a strong A but he gave me a B even though I had a 95% becasue i found a way to beat the system and he didnt like that even though it was fair and honest.would take again beacuse he has a clue though sometimes he can be unclear and not dwell on the subject long enough.otherwise recomended half class got A's other half got F's
He is a good teacher to take for a math class. His notes are very clear and he is very helpful with giving advice before the exams. I would recommend someone to take him.
Mr. Scott is a great teacher. His lectures are presented step-by-step and are very clear and easy to understand. Mr. Scott is very relaxed and does not stress out his students. He has a good sense of humor as well. His assignments are pretty easy to keep up with too. He is an excellent teacher.
The bestest teacher ever! Very clear and knows what he's talking about. He will gladly explain anything you don't understand and is very flexible. Mr. Scott, you're the most awesome teacher ever!
Tests are OK. He picked them from the exercises. Check out the sample tests from previous semester. The format's the same. He might talk a bit fast, but he's very knowledgable and admits his own mistakes, unlike others teach who says "jus testing if you pay attn or not" Sometimes we got 15 points added for our test. Very helpful and easy after all.
The best teacher, knows how to teach. Choose him, you won;t be sorry.
he is helpul and shows clarity on explaining work. if this is a student's first time taking math 029, he explains it well. his test are easy if you know what you are doing. his test are based on homework.
Mr. Scott's the best!! very easy going, funny and helpful! test are not that hard and lot's of chances for extra credit. Kind of fast paced during summer but, I would definitely take him again.
Prof Scott once said: you cant land on a dime, a fraction, 1/8, 1/2. There's no such thing as space man. Outer space man! He is clear in the head but he's torn. He saw a snail crawl across a straight razor. A straight razor, and it survived the smell of napalm in the morning and if you learn anything know that "if" is the middle of the word life.
Funny, clear, helpful, patient, genius. Fair grader. Couldn't recommend more highly.
Good at teaching, but tests are so unfair.Everyone was smart and doing well, so Mr Scott made test questions that were absolutely nothing like lectures or homework or anything in the textbook.EVERYONE fails the exam and Mr Scott curves grades so that he gets the grade diversity he wants. He said there are too many A's in here. He fixed that.Sucks.
One of the best teachers on campus! Explanations are clear. He'll answer any question you have and not make you feel stupid and however many times you need to get the material! But be prepared. Once he gets going, he expects you to remember terms and properties learned at the beginning of the semester. You better have good long term memory!
Mr. Scott turned back graded materials promptly and he was consistent and objective in his grading. His midterms closely resembled the homework and lecture notes almost verbatim many times, with occasional "challenge" problems. He offered extra credit to boost scores. I learned a lot. Altogether, he's a very good and dedicated physics prof.
This Teacher was one of the worst I have ever had.I have never had a teacher laugh on how hard he creates his tests; plus act or give you a look like your STUPID if you didn't get his example. He also was not punctual & talked on his own private DRAMA going on in his life.I will NEVER take this guy again,I will take a course at another school first
He really knows his stuff & best of all he knows how to expalian it. He is the best instructor at citrus, BY FAR.
Prof. Scott was helpful and I enjoyed the intro tales from his personal life. He made me feel at ease when asking the class questions and never made me feel like I was dumb even when I couldnt answer the question. The bottom line is he enjoys teaching and it shows.
Very clear and knows what he is doing. Appears to enjoy teaching as well, which is a plus.
Wow we wow wow! I was impressed with Mister Scott. I was able to pick up what the man was throwing down. His lectures are so wicked awesome! The subject is difficult but this man knows his shat & he's wicked smat. Oh, and one more thang....he got a freakin' awesome laugh...& some shweet hair too :)
He is very kind and helpful instructor I ever had before. He is always availaible to help you if you have a question. You will learn alot from him. Recommend to take physics 202 and 203 with him if you want to pass at least a B and and also have knowledge for it.
Math is the hard subject that we need to take. I recommend you guy take Math with Professor Scott, because he explains stuff very clear and understandable, and you will get at least a B if you spend time on his classes.
Very helpful and understanding.

Great Teacher. Encourages you to succeed. Takes time to connect with Students. Takes time for review and gives practice exams.
Professor Scott is the best math teacher at Citrus!!!! He is an amazing teacher and makes math easy to understand through his teaching technique. I truly learned so much from this class & he kept me interested all semester. He is extremely nice and easy to talk to. I now enjoy math because of Prof. Scott. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! He is the best!!!!
Mr. Scott is a genious. He's also excellent at drawing 3-D stuff on the board! However, he airbrushes over the material and it seems like you understand the material when you don't. His exams are also really difficult. Be prepared for a challenge if your taking his physics classes!
Yes, he is a genius, but he had missed 8 classes over a 16 week period and was not available for consultation or further understanding. It left me confused about the material, having to rely on tutoring.
Scott defintately knows his stuff. Too bad he missed like 7 or 8 class meetings and would not warn you ahead of time. He was so frustrating cuz he would never show up. Homework is spread out, dont wait until the last minute or it will take about 5 hours. Test questions are sometime confusing. Overall, very smart, but out of it
Mr. Scott was cool but flaky. And because of his flaky-ness, half the class didn't know what was going on and we didn't finish the last 2 chapters. do the hw ahead of time, take notes, and attend if u want to pass.
Cool. Speaks clearly. Follows his timeline and schedule of assignments. Avg homework assignments, 4 tests a semister, and he is clear about what is required of you. I would take him again if I could.
He is a very good teacher. He'll definetly help u out if u need it. He even gives u practice tests w the answers on it. He gives u a sheet w all the hw assig. on it which arent due until the day of the test. I highly recommend this teacher!!
GREAT TEACHER!!! he makes everything very simple. just don't miss class 'cause it will hurt you dearly. Mr. Scott rocks. I'm gonna take him for all my math classes.
One of my favorite teachers. Clear lectures.Homework due when test is taken. Gave a take home exam. Prepares you well for all exams. He is ready to help. I intentionaly took him. I intend on taking him for elect and mag. (Phys 202).
One of my favorite teachers. Clear lectures (course material presented in a simple manner).Homework due when the test is due. 1 take home exam. Prepares you well for all exams. The home work is relevant to all exams. Ready to help during office hours.
My favorite teacher at citrus. i have take his phy and math that i got a A and B.His class is clarity, everthing is simple that the students just enjoy it and got a excellent grade. he gives practice exam and HW due exam.I would take him again.
My favorite teacher at citrus. i have take his phy and math that i got a A and B.His class is clarity, everthing is simple that the students just enjoy it and got a excellent grade. he gives practice exam and HW due exam.I would take him again.
Took the class in Fall 09. At first nothing he did seemed to make since. As the class went on it did get better. His way of explaining things sometimes didn't compute. He did show up to almost all the classes and was on time. Do your homework and ask questions you should do fine. Good class.
Excellent lecturer. The course is difficult but Professor Scott makes it as clear as possible. The six week course moves quickly, but Scott keeps his lectures at a manageable pace. I would recommend taking this professor.
easy teacher! take him and hes very good!
Also took 130. If the math is review you WILL BE BORED! If you are learning new things he explains EVERY STEP in detail which is extremely helpful! Each time I took his class we canceled 2 chapters due to his absences, but overall he is a great teacher!
He is a great teacher. He is funny and engaging and really helps his students learn. I wish I needed more math classes just so I can take his class again. Great Teacher. Thanks Mr. Scott
Professor Scott was really great at helping me understand Physics. I had never taken a physics class before and I was honestly scared to take the class. If you are hardworking and you actually study for his tests this class is a no brainer. He is very helpful during both the lectures and the labs. Although he misses class a lot, he makes up for it.
Physics is hard, but Mr. Scott teaches to his exams. Anything he writes on the board will be on an exam. He has a power point hand out, pretest, and the final wasn't cumulative. I was happy with my B.
He truly does make physics an interesting course to take. He really knows the material, he's engaging, charming, personable, helpful, patient, and makes a class that could easily be miserable into a class that makes sense, challenging (in a good way), and pretty enjoyable, actually. He is also fairly sexy. Very warm smile.
hello, we need extra credits. there are more than 20 people will fail this class.
Took winter 2011, Helpful teacher very clear lectures but must do all the homework. The tests are quite hard. Half the class failed, would recommend his class for spring or fall if you want to really learn Pre-Calc. Final is worth 2 tests and will replace lowest test score.
He is one of the best instructors I have taken. Scott is a great guy and wants everyone to do great. His exams are clear and are related to the homework/lectures. I would recomend anyone to take him for Physics 202 and 203. He keeps class interesting and makes us laugh. We had weekly quizes that prepare you for the upcoming exams.
Lectures the entire time. Stops & answer any questions. Places practice tests on BB (Almost exact replica of tests & final). STUDY THOSE and will do very well on actual tests. Simply do the homework after lectures to gain practice on what he lectured on. Not passing this class with an A is simply negligence on the student. Overall Great instructor
Good teacher, is clear and easy to understand. Medium/above-average paced class. Gives credit for homework. Test questions are not that difficult, however he only gives partial credit for the last 3 questions, so if your answers to the other questions are not 100% correct, they will be marked wrong. If you need partial credit to boost your grade, t
Scott is one of the better math teachers I've had. It's not my best subject and I am actually understanding everything. He is really helpful and wants his students to succeed!
Prof Scott teaches the course material very clearly. He is also very helpful and also nice and easy to communicate with.
Mr scott is hands down the best math teacher i've ever had. I could've got a better grade if i just completed all the homework. I learned so much from him and recommend him to any student who struggles in math. God knows I do.
He is a great professor and very helpful. I took him over the summer and really enjoyed his class
Took for 6 week winter session. We didn't get through everything but what we did was very clear; he covers EVERYTHING step by step. Great teacher to take if you haven't had math in a while and need review. His final was a bit hard since he disallowed calculators after allowing them (non-graphing only) for the rest of the class, but stil
Very helpful and patient. The final was harder than other tests, but if everything was easy we'd be screwed in our next math class, so I guess I can't complain. Highly recommended for those who struggle with math.
Look, Mr. Scott is a great teacher, but don't read these comments thinking that it's going to be a walk in the park. You need to study and do the homework if you want to earn a good grade. This is not like an easy psychology class that you can ACE with your eyes closed. Don't get cocky, just because you're in precal doesn't mean that you can slack
I honestly enjoyed his class. Tests were extremely difficult and they were half partial cred and half all or nothing. I worked day & night and studied for weeks. I EARNED that A and I was one of 2 or maybe 3 that get an A. Take him and prepare to work for a B-. Give your life up to the class and be naturally good at math and work hard for an A.
He taught very clearly and at a good pace. I recommend him if you haven't been in math for a while. The cons were he does have a "all or nothing" section on his tests so be sure to study definitions and such. We also did not get thru the whole book which hurt me for math 030.
EXCELLENT TEACHER!!! VERY PATIENT AND CLEAR.
love the way this teacher explains math. im not good at all when it comes to math but he really takes the time to explain the material. got a B.
Do not take this professor, he does not provide any study guide and the test are everything or nothing, I am an "A" student, and i ended up getting "F".
He doesnt respond to any emails when it comes to contacting him. He doesnot teach good, he goes only through examples from the book but you learned nothing.
Very hard class. i took it over fall and was the hardest ever taken. I got an A, but he grades so bad. No study guide.
Avoid this class! I suffered so much during winter with him. I got an B, but its so difficult, more than 60% failed the first exam. He does not provide STUDY guide. Do not take him. Is very stressful
Tests are difficult and assigns a good amount of homework. Breaks everything down to an easy level of understanding. Overall I would say he is a great teacher. If you want an A you will have to earn it, but an A is definitely achievable with some effort.
Would not recommend him he dose not give review at all everything is explained once lots of homework . The first time he teaches you it does seem clear but at times its confusing he goes through hard problems fast your trying to think so fast you can't even tell him slow down he's a nice person but not a great teacher I am hoping to pass his class
Great professor!! He clearly explains every step of the problem. Gives out tons of homework, but it's your choice to do it or not its your grade. Mr. Scott is fair when he grades your exams. Either you know the material or you don't. Gives out extra credit.
DO NOT TAKE HIM, HE IS SO DIFFICULT AND THE EXAMS ARE EVERYTHING OR NOTHING. AVOID HIM
Overall is an okay teacher isn't clear about certain things so make sure you ask a lot of questions.& check your email frequently he tends to cancel class. His grading is awesome, but his lectures are pretty boring!Wish he was more optimistic about teaching.Just do good on your exams&do ALL the h.w & extra credit you'll pass! Good luck :)
Do not take him. he should not be teaching Math, because his exams are everything or nothing. No partial credit at all. This professor is horrible
Dont take him for pre cal
Do not take him for Math 175, unless you want to fail. His exams are everything or nothing, which means a little error will give you nothing , because he does not do partial credit.
this class is super hard, and he makes it harder with the exam which are everything or nothing. so basically you get every number perfectly right or you FAIL. He is not a good teacher.
He seems a good guy, but HORRIBLE professor, do not take his class. He should explain more, he goes very fast and you dont get the concept,. exams are so difficult. No study guide at all.
I agree with these comments, DO NOT TAKE HIM! This class is horrible. He is awfully boring, and his test are ridiculously difficult. Every test gets harder and worst. Avoid him if you can, trust me!
I HATE MATH! However, he is a great professor and makes it easy to understand. Quite a bit of hmwrk but he gives more than enough time to complete it and is willing to help anyone who really wants to do well. Great guy! People who complain about the class should rethink attending college. : ( Do homework +take notes+ study for tests = pass!
very helpful, enjoyed taking his class, and always helped if we had any.first math teacher I actually understand and explains clealy
He was awesome! best math teacher i ever had..this was my first math class for freshman year. absolutely worth it! he explained everything pretty clear. and the test so easy, just the basic concept. do your homework! you'll get 15/15 if you completed all, without he checked it. he's funny as well. strongly recommended!!! :)
He is a nice guy and willing to answer questions but his tests are terrible. All or nothing for the most part with some partial credit. I thought I understood the material just fine but felt cheated when taking the test.
he's okay, but if you could take another teacher, take the others. seriously a lot of homeworks. due almost every week. like thousand problems to do. the good thing is He's funny.. that's all
He is funny, but terrible professor, he doesnt teach, all he does is drinking his SlurpeeS from seven eleven. His GRADING is super hard, (everything or nothing)
Super chill professor who knows how to teach. Tests could be pretty tough but all you have to do is study his study guide. Easy B but extremely hard A. Gives out extra credit for a 65% to equal a C.
Do not take him. the test was extremely hard, even though he explained clearly, but bunch of hw due every week.. "everything or nothing" part is really suck
All or nothing grading sucks. Really made it impossible to pass any exam.
He is a great professor. His lectures are very clear and his study guides for the tests are very helpful. The "all or nothing" section isn't bad at all. These questions are simpler and really only require one answer. Passed the class with an A by doing all the homework and studying the study guides.
i absolutely love this instructor. he is Gods gift to students who are not very smart in math. i always struggled with math but he explains everything to the point it make sense to even me. my only problem is that he isn't teaching math 150 this coming up semester. i highly recommend him. just show up to class. he give attendance points and do the homework which helps prepare u for the quizzes.
I have a rough time with math and have had horrible experiences in the past with math. After 2 failed attempts I had to get authorization by him to take his class and he allowed me access. Chris Scott was very thorough, clear and concise. I enjoyed his class for what he taught me and the willingness he had to help me learn.
This professor is VERY good for the math student who has been out of practice for a very long time or is just confused altogether. He takes the time to really spell out everything, even things that don't really need it, just in case anyone isn't following. His class helped me understand so much.
Good professor, gives you extra credit and gives you plenty of time to do the homework. Advice: just do the homework, and study the study guides and you'll do just fine. The study guide is just a study guide so study how every question is done by the methods. Do not just remember the answers. Its a good class great professor.
Grading sucks. Always did well in high school with Math and this class is the first class I ever got below a B in… ever! Very boring and a lot of homework.
Very very easy! Took him for winter semester he explains it so clearly an does tests reviews of the exact test ! Defiantly recommend taking him for math 29 he is out a lot but makes up for it in class very well
he is funny, but does not explain much. HIS GRADING is hard. Points off and there for no reasons, i had to take him because i had no other option. i regret for taking him. Avoid him. or taking if you want to fail easily.
Took him Winter 2014. Very good teacher! Explains concepts clearly. He gave a review session before every exam. Tests have All or Nothing , 2 point questions on simple problems that take you 5 seconds to answer, and Partial credit 5- 15 point questions on lengthy problems. He also gives extra credit. Fair guy but you have to study to pass.
I love the fact he teaches clear and gives us study guides. The problem is he doesn't give us enough time to study for his tests. I had him four days a week. There were 4 exams and plenty of hw. His exams were always on thursday. Wednesday he would give us the study guide, that's less than 24 hours to study for an exam? Not enough time.
Worst professor I have ever had. Our class was twice a week every Monday and Wednesday and he only showed up once a week, which at first was kinda cool because you didn't have to attending boring class BUT our class got super behind and he still expected us to know all the info regardless. Super confusing and wasn't helpful at all. Avoid taking him
He explains things very well and clear but when it comes to his tests they are super hard. He was going thru a medical condition so class was cancelled ALOT. I got so far behind and confused that I stopped showing up to class. He is a good prof, but his tests and hw suck.
Excellent professor, highly recommended. Kind, clear, patient and helpful.
The homework may be a lot, but they will surely prepare you for his long, expansive tests. Do all of it because he will grade you on them. He gives chances for extra credit, and grade boosts every one in awhile through attendance. Replaces lowest test score with your final exam grade. Very solid lecturer, he has dry humor
Good teacher. He missed a lot of class due to illness, but when he was there he was focused. Very friendly and funny and of course he was very helpful. I recommend him!
Awesome teacher, took him for Fall MA 150. Really great teaching. MA 150 is easy if someone remembers there algebra. If not, go to the SI sessions and ask Scott many questions. His test are pretty hard because there is an all or nothing. Overall, take this guy for an easy A
I took this Professor twice. 1st time I passed Math 29 and thought he was ok, 2nd time i took him I failed math30. His study guides don't correlate to what's on the actual test. He only gives students about a day or 2 days to study at most which makes it impossible to pass his tests. I'd take someone else. He also gives an overwhelming amount of hw
A cool guy - definitely one of the best math profs at Citrus. Good, clear, organized lectures. Tests can be challenging but his study guides are very helpful. Cancels class often. Pre-calc is not that difficult, but I was among the small handful of students who passed with an A. So unless you're a savant like me, you'll need to study, study, STUDY!
Unfortunately you will have to keep up with the long boring class sessions so the homework makes sense. He assigns quite a bit of homework, but as long as you keep up you won't have a problem passing. He is always willing to help and always offers extra credit after a test.
If you are good at math you have a chance to pass his class. His practice test don't match up to the test. The extra credit don't mean anything. If you want to get a good grade and pass the first time take Swan.
Extra Credit can help you through if your a high D, Explains problems but with this math you need math lab too.
I had a major surgery during the last quarter of the class. Because I stayed on top of my homework and understanding of the material, I was able to take a Incomplete and return for the final in the next semester. This professor was easy to work with, understanding, explains the course very well! Just have to do ur your part to get a good grade!
Cannot say enough - ITS ALL ABOUT THE GRADE, though extra credit can be taken. Apparently no consideration for; extra credit, tutoring, attendance factored into final grade. Appears only tests matter. Unfortunately for me I choke on his tests which are far different from his quizzes. Messed up my GPA!
Really great professor overall. Stops and explains thoroughly if you're not understanding the concept. All of the homework, quizzes and test were done online. Very easy class to pass, lectures are long but helpful. Definitely recommend taking him
I took for Winter 2014. He wuz very good. Clear lectures and orgenized. His practice exams are great since the tests are very similar. Best math teacher I've had so far compared to past boring high school teachers. Recomend Prof Scott to anyone wanting to understsnd algebra . Makes boring math very understandable !!
His explanation of material is great. Study the practice exams. These practice exams are so so similar to the actual exam. If you study and do hw you should pass. He offers extra credit which is simply reworking the problems you got wrong on last exam. Very good experience and highly endorse this guy.
Nice professor, funny, focussed, and helpful. You will take tons of notes in this class. A lot of homework, however it severely helps when you have to take the test. He provides practice tests and extra credit assignments.
Lots of homework!! He tends to blow through sections one after another been if students aren't keeping up. He missed/ canceled class often. The class itself was very cold, meaning people did not interact much, and neither did the professor with the students. Tests are not too hard if you do the homework.
Took Math 150 during Winter session 2016. I hadn't taken math in over 10 years. Professor Scott was very helpful in explaining formulas and really making sure we understood the lecture. I would take him again if I had too. He gives you study guides for the tests and drops the lowest test. Overall go to class and take notes and you should be good
His explanation of material is clear and to the point. Study the practice exams. These practice exams are very similar to the actual exam. Gives a lot of hw. However, if you stay on top of it you should do fine. If you study and do hw you should pass. He offers extra credit which is correcting the problems you got wrong on last exam.
He is very great professor, as long as you study the practice exams, you will get good grade in the real exams! These practice exams are so so similar to the actual one. strongly recommend!
Prof Scott is nice and kinda funny. Gave 3 tests 1 final, 2 were take home drops the lowest score. Not the best way to learn and reinforce class material he doesn't really take questions in class would say if you have questions stay after. Would've been more beneficial if he allowed students to interact more with him while explaining the material
Professor Scott was an amazing math teacher. I have always struggled with math however, Mr. Scott made learning math easier than other professors. I would recommend him to anyone!! Will take him again next math class!
Great teacher, one of the best physics classes I have taken.
Very easy, but a lot of homework. Lectures get very repetitive but he does very well at explaining how to do something if you do not get it.
He was a great professor, gave a few tests some were done at home online. He is pretty thorough in lecture. The book was not necessary everything was on WebAssign. His tests are really easy as long as you do your homework, he takes questions from HW and lecture. He also gives a quiz every weekend online.
Professor Scott is a great math professor. His lectures are slow and thorough so if math is not your strong subject take him. His practice exams are similar to the real ones and he gives extra credit. Just make sure you have time to do the HW. There's alot of it. Would take again
Pretty easy, just show up to class and take good notes and you'll pass.
He's a really cool guy. but he missed 5 days which put the class behind 2 whole chapters. Lots of hw, 3 midterms, couple of take home quizzes, and a final. Gives you 10% extra credit after he gives you your test back for corrections.
Professor Scott is amazing! He made me like math. He is great at what he does! His lectures are easy to follow and very well executed. Homework, quizzes, and test were done online for this class which I liked, I recommend him to anyone struggling in math. Great Professor! Easy on the eyes.
Great teacher! I started the semester with no clue on fractions and much more. Professor Scott was very clear and explanatory for every subject. HW was alot, but very simple online. He lets you out of class early and gives you your old test to make up your missed problems for extra credit.
I was a threepeat - I failed Math175 twice - but was finally able to pass, thanks to Scott. He was extremely helpful, drops the lowest test score, offers extra credit and cheat-sheets on exams, gives practice exams and take-home notes, has a good grading scale, and explains mathematics by methods that make it easy to understand and follow!
Mr. Scott is laidback and funny. Sometimes exams will be in class, other times he will let you take it home. Test reviews are gone over in class in groups then answers are put on the whiteboard, the questions are in the same format on the test. Tons of homework, but it helps with tests immensely, just make sure you are consistent in finishing it.
He is a great teacher!!I was scared to take math because I was never great at it. I took him for Math 029. I am currently taking him for Math 030 and will be taking him for next sem as well. He teaches really slow, so if you are horrible at math TAKE HIM! If you pick up on it pretty easily, it will be boring but getting an A is really easy!
He had great lectures-very informative, but he did cancel class quite a bit during summer semester. So, kind of felt like I wasn't learning as much as I needed to grasp the whole course.
Great teacher explains everything well and has patience not like other math teachers
Professor Scott is the best math teacher I've had in my life. I have struggled with math since the 5th grade and he filled in all the gaps of knowledge that I had which slowed me from understanding math in the past. He's so sweet and patient, if you struggle with math I highly recommend him, he will never make you feel dumb or insecure about it.
Mr. Scott is an amazing math professor. He lectures first before assigning the homework. He goes over all possible topics on your homework. If you have questions he is always available to help you after class, or during office hours. All homework, quizzes, and test are done online. Just do all your homework, and quizzes and you will pass the test.
This guy is amazing! Real nice guy. Ive always had trouble with math my entire life and hes one of the few professors I understood. Hell work with you after class if needed and always offers his office hours if you need it. I had him for Math 29 and 150 and he used Webassign for all assignments, even the final. Highly recommend!
Hes an amazing teacher that will go the extra mile to help you understand a concept you have any troubles with. And with him using webassign for all the homework and tests including the final its a challenge to not pass. All the notes you use in class can be used to help on the tests and final.
Super awesome teacher. Makes jokes he will help you with anything you need. Took his summer class and everything was online tests, homework, and even final. I'm super bad at math I retook this class and gave Professor Scott a chance and I will never regret it got an A!!!!!
Professor Scott is really great at breaking down the problems and explaining each step. Since I have always had trouble in, his teaching styles have helped me. All homework and tests are online. He is not big on attendance, but you do miss out on a lot of note taking. Textbook was not required. I purchased his $30 note packet in the student store.
I loved Professor Scott, all of the hw and tests are online and the lectures are in class. Tbh i never went to class and i just did all the hw and tests online. Attendance is not mandatory, but gives extra points to get a better grade.
Unclear grading criteria Unfair grading criteria Final heavy but participation still mattered Which makes no sense if the final is most of your grade
Boring.
I have never been good at math, however, this was the easiest class I've ever taken. You don't have to come to lecture. All hw due online INCLUDING exams and the final. There are multiple assignments due each week, so don't wait until the last min. You can put in minimal effort. Very kind and will extend your assignments due date if you ask.
Wonderful teacher! This is my 3rd math class with him. His lectures are straight forward. Homework assignments, midterms (3 of them) & final are all online; very convenient if you work/have other priorities. You really can't go wrong with prof. Scott. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if math is a struggle def do not skip lectures. Highly recommend!
Summer class; attendance isn't mandatory. Textbook is optional. He speaks clearly and understandably enough that you don't need to read anything unless you have trouble with math. Breaks down problems from ground to up, so there really isn't any trouble in learning. Homework and tests are all online and fairly straightforward.
This man is very intelligent. However, if you are a creative/kinetic learner I dont recommend this class. It really was hard to grasp the concepts and I had to teach myself most of all the material. He is absent often and its hard to understand concepts thoroughly through the notes he hands out. The tests questions are phrased in a confusing way.
Prof Scott's class was one of the hardest I have ever taken. His tests are difficult but he cancels class about twice a month so he has to make some of them take home. He seemed like he was willing to help but he's not very approachable and doesn't respond to his emails quickly. From what I have heard he is one of the better profs by comparison.
To be honest i don't have in class experience with professor Scott , i have experience online Math 190 so i'm not good with math just to be honest he's test are same as a homework , yea home work is lot questions maybe is summer section thats why , but overall is good so far i'm A the class . i reccoment to take he's online class if offer .
so hes s online class is more easier then in person class i think hes s test are same as homework only i can tell 1% each test are deferent that mean only one question each test and the rest are exactly same questions what homework is he's class online impossible to get B , only bad think hes s emails when u send email no respond thats all .
As some students mentioned , same i have experience in he's online class calculus 1 class , so overal is easy but the bad part he never replied on time any emails . but another hand he has lot homework's but homework's is 5 attempts each questions and another hand 5 exams , first 2 exams was 2 attempt each questions and rest 1 attempt , plus final
online class is super easy , spatially it supposed to be hard its summer class 4 week class Calculus class , also is a major class for math , i don't know its supper easy class no stress nothing , maybe is pandemic thats why professor is helping us to get good grade i don't know , but he never replied any email or replied late thats all
He's assignments are 21 chapters of homework's total 1065 points , 30% entire grade , homework's are 5 attempt each questions which mean is really good , 5 exams , exams are 40% from entire grade .1 and 2 exams are second attempt each questions again is really good and rest one attempt .Final exam 30% from entire grade and 1 attempt each quest.
I took calc 1 with Professor Scott. He skipped class a bunch of times. He would make a mistake and work with it for 30 minutes then realize everything was a mistake. He would chug soda trying to stay awake while writing on the board. I cant say enough bad things about this guy. Ive seen people change majors b/c of professor Scott. Stay motivated.
Professor Scot hes really the best professor i can say , hes online class is so so , if you take time you will pass with B+ , its easy B+ or A , but its hes bad part is he never replied any emails , but i think you will be good if you study ONLY ONLYYYYYY hes online homework and you will be fin , on exams and final . Good luck
he's really the best professor in. citrus college , exams are fair its not hard its same as a homework , if you do well homework , you will be fin in exams and final too , i myself i didn't had any difficulty to taking he's class , even tho its summer class again i didn't haded any thing , i just read the book , and i was fine . Now So far i'm A
this class only has a few assignments so turning them in matters but he is so helpful and if you don't understand something he will help you out I am horrible at math so me getting an A in this class was a miracle, he's a chill guy and is willing to work with you, definitely take him if you have the chance.
he is so lazy. hw is online,math-heavy. 'if guy launches bag on top of a 10 ft building, if it was launched at 30 degrees and landed 20 seconds later 40 yards away from the building, how tall was the building' & he wont even walk step by step with me after class even though the numbers are different. has basically no set office hours. not long enou
Took his Calculus I class over winter and it was the biggest mistake of my life. An awful professor who taught the class nothing and required hours upon hours of HW. His lectures were awful. He would make a mistake on a problem and not realize for 5 minutes and leave that in the pre-recorded lecture. Made it through with an A and learned nothing.
For Prof Scotts class, we mostly used webassign and that is where homework and tests were done. He has prerecorded lectures along with worksheets. The course wasn't too bad and felt very manageable.
I am not gonna say any part of the homework. The lecture will not be fun at all, there is no interaction between prof and students, if you lose your attention for 5 sec you don't know what is going on, He does assume everyone is math pro and moves forward super quick, if you suck at math, don't take it.
Ive taken prof scott twice now and each time was extremely pleasant. He is a good professor, but he does move extremely fast in lectures. Homework is done on webassign and you are given 5 tries per problem. Exams are just like homework, often times exams will have the same problems as the homework. Do recommend as an easy pass
I am a sophomore and had a 4.0 until I took his class. Although I got a B in his class, I am disappointed as I worked really hard. The tests did not always match the homework and they were very hard. I would never take this professor again.
This is my second semester with him. I took him for math 190. Yes his lectures are all over the place and he makes mistakes on the hchw but the class is an easy pass. I am horrible at math but I have an A. His lectures and hchw are practically the same so pay attention and youll be fine. He drops your lowest scores.
If you learn by watching someone demonstrate, I recommend him. he has a good personality too. However, his homework is a lot more difficult than what is taught in class, and all he does is lecture. If you learn by practicing questions hands-on in class, well, he doesn't do that. I hope I never have to take his class again.
He's highly knowledgeable, and I appreciate his teaching style. In Calculus II, the workload is substantial with 6-8 hours weekly for written homework (HCHW) and online assignments via WebAssign. Note checks are crucial; missing one impacts your grade significantly, and there's no makeup opportunity.
My online experience might be different from those in person, however, Professor Scott's lectures were subpar at best. The HCHW is exactly like what is discussed in lecture, but with the addition of online HW, this class takes a lot of work. The class itself is easy enough to pass, although you will often be left confused after class.
mediocre at best, lowkey would be falling asleep in the low energy lectures . The online hw thats assigned be sometimes of a reach from the material he covers but okay. he lowkey struggled on the online hw himself lol but he chill fr. His 'hard copy hw' is exactly like the lecture notes.
There is a zero chance I would have gotten an A in Physics with any other professor. Much of it is online which helps, the Midterm and Final were the only in person exams and they were curved pretty heavily, though this can vary. Prof Scott is phenomenal at teaching physics concepts that seem complicated and makes them make sense. HUGE Recommend.
Fast paced lectures twice a week and plenty of homework to really get a handle on the course material, a lot of work but not challenging if you pay attention. Fair grader and ready to explain anything you're unclear of. Questions from the exams are similar at times to the homework so there are no surprises.
If you are trying to kill the planet with paper then yes take this professor. Chris Scott is decent professor with fast paced work and mildly difficult test. This guy for some reason makes u print and use infinite amounts of paper for no reason. Marks off points for writing on assignments he gives you. Honestly if I could report this guy I would.
Professor Scott's lectures move quickly, but if you stay engaged and utilize tools like unstuck study, you can master the material. The homework is demanding but fair, and exams align well with practice. Overall, a challenging yet manageable course.
Chill, professor, as long as you go to the lecture and do the homework on time, there should be no problem. Most of the work was online, my tests were online, but it was also a summer course so idk if he does the same for a normal semester.
