Engaging and charismatic teacher. Hard on essays, easy on multiple-choice; you hardly need the book. However, he talks extensively and unneccessarily about his political preferences (libertarian); some 90-minute classes were five minutes of material and 80 minutes against taxation, the government, or Medicare.
Really cool guy, just don't get on his bad side or he will pick on you when you least expect it. Listen to his lectures and write all you can (from his speeches to what he puts on the board). Practice for the essays ahead of time and read assigned material. Also, get your books approved ahead of time for book presentations. He makes Hist. fun.
Ridiculously Good Looking ... and he has that new york accent... dont get me started!?
No comments, i agree with all the ones below! :)
I am currently taking his class and so far, I am enjoying myself. He is a good instructor who knows how to keep us on toes.
Man, dude is a very good teacher, and he makes learning very fun. I feel that if you are a very fine good-looking attractive female, he gives you an A. But you have to work for that A. He will ask you more questions and embarass the fine ones in class, so watch out. Doesnt BS and lets you know what to expect on the exam clearly. TAKE HIM!!!
VERY GOOD TEACHER
he class and lectures are really good and he makes really fun. but he test are just horrible i mean nothing of what teaches are on them.
loved the class! very interesting and i never once fell asleep, and i had the class in the morning
He is such a great teacher! Makes all of his lectures very fun and entertaining. I never fell asleep! He seems to favor girls, but he's nice to everyone. He has a cool accent and tells funny stories. I didn't buy the book for the course, it's probaly helpful though. Theres 2 book reviews (Easy) and multiple choice tests! He's COOL!
never a dull moment in this class. Keeps the disscussions fun and interesting. He made politics sound interesting. I had no interest in that field be4. Successful turned me into an Austro-liberterian:)
he is very funny. the class was anything but boring. he makes history very fun. a very down to earth person that goes off topic sometimes but his humor makes up for it. gave test reviews for every chapter and they were similar to the tests. we had two book reveiws which was an easy A. i strongly recommened him. if u fail, shame on you.
For someone who does not know anything about History its hard to understand this class, he gave us 2 book reports to do which I think is alot to read in a semester, the exams are a bit hard and he does not cover everything on it. I did all my work plus the extra credit he gave at the end and he still failed me.
If you don't like being in front of a class, don't take him because you have to do oral reports. He's funny at first, but then he starts telling the same jokes over & over. He's okay.. not bad, but not spectacular.
Govt. 2301..My first test was a 74 and that was my fought but for the next two test and book report I did study and got an A average in the class even though I messed up the first time. If you study and read the book you will pass with an A he gives you the whole semester to prepare your book report. He also gives study guides and extra credit.
this teacher was kind of funny in the first. then got most of the kids in the class irritated. same jokes over and over. took it over the summer, too many information in one day, and does not completely explain everyting. 1st test was easy, 2nd test was not even anything he talked about. lots of ppl failed
He's very interesting and keeps your attention throughout the class. You MUST do the chapter reviews and you MUST study 2-3 days before the test. I got an A!
HE'S REAL COOL N HE MAKES THE CLASS INTERSTING
I do NOT recommend Professor Scott. Although class can be interesting, he does not cover History for most of the class. He will tell you not to read the book and to only study the class reviews, which will get you a C on the test. It is now the end of the semester and there are about 10 people left in my class. Good looking, bad teacher.
HE'S A GREAT PROFESSOR. NEVER A DULL MOMENT IN CLASS. HE GIVES REVIEW SHEETS BEFORE TEST. STUDY THE REVIEWS AND YOU WILL ACE THE TESTS. ONE BOOK REVIEW AND PRESENTATION. IT WAS NOT HARD AT ALL. TAKE HIS CLASS. YOU WILL BE GLAD THAT YOU DID!!!
He talks a lot about his political views and current event and less reviewing for the test and chapters. There are review sheets, but only some will be featured on the test(not enough to pass). It's a lot of info to cover. Usually 100 questions. You will have to do a lot of reading to pass his tests. Won't curve, not flexible, and no extra credit.
You will never get bored into hs class, very funny instructor. He only covers about 50% of exam material in class, the rest is up to you to study. I think his opinion are more into Government than History.
NOT A HARD CLASS, HAD THREE EXAMS AND A FOUR PAGE BOOK REPORT
Spends more time on his personal political views more than anything. Excessive review sheets, but rarely covers information from the text book. Many of the questions from the review sheets does not appear on the exams. You spend alot of time cramming and studying, but never really learning.
Prof scott is a gud professor as a whole if you consider. he gives you review sheets before the test. ya you do have to study the review sheets properly, sometimes he gives question which aren't mentioned in the review, but you will do fine in his tests,he gives you a lot of time to prepare for his book review presentation , which is very good.
Yes, Professor Scott its me Ms.B now let me say i do now love Ron Paul.Unfortunately, he is lagging behind in the race for pres.2008,Nevertheless, i will forever be grateful to Professor Scott for my knowledge of WHATS REALLY WRONG WITH OUR GOVERNMENT...VOTE CHRISTOPHER SCOTT FOR U S President(or ron paul)thats basically what i got out the semeste
The Worst teacher ive ever taken in HCC. You need to write 2 book reviews plus many many many pages of reviews even when u complete everything, you wont pass the class. Talks too much and Repeats himself over and over. Half of the class Dropped. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I took him and yes, there's work with the review sheets and I hate doing oral book reports. If you do the review sheets and book report you'll pass. Just pick the shortest book to read.
He is a very intelligent guy.F
he is the most interested prof so far.when i went to this,i didn't have any interest in govt or politics and now i got to the internet checking on whats going on.Definately the easiest class to get an A*
Good teacher, he does give book reports, but if you are an average student you really have a chance to excell in his class. FYI- he is a Strong Libertarian, and will let you know of that.
do the review sheet and actually study it and you will do fine on the test. You get a lot of time to do the book reviews so it isn't difficult. great guy, teaches well, and you will get to know the Phrase "fughetaboutit"
he is a great teacher
Great professor! Highly recommended!
Says you don't need to read the book to get an A, just doe his reviews and attend lectures....to bad a good number of questions on the tests come out of the book or thin air (material not covered) neo-Ron Paul fanatic...believes its the only view worth following and will demean an educated political debate with circular reasoning and bad example
He was way into politics due to the election season coming up. His lectures at times lead off to him ranting about non sense. His reviews were too long and the material rarely related to the test. Wouldn't recommend him at all!
Excellent teacher. Not bashful about personal views, but respectful. I had strong disagreement with him on specific issues but he was always respectful. The tests aren't easy. About 10% of the questions are worded to trick you. You will work for your A but it can be done. He shows great courage to speak the truth. High praises to Mr. Scott.
Professor Scott is a great teacher. There is a lot of information to be covered in class but he makes it easy & interesting. He is funny and not strict. Gives out test reviews & writes notes on board. Bad thing: he makes you read books & talk about it in front of class. but overall EXCELLENT!!!
Horrible Teacher...doesn't take the class seriously...always off topic. Told us to study his study guides ONLY, for the test...to bad half the test was material in the book not covered in the study guides... DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER UNLESS YOU LIKE MEMORIZING THE ENTIRE CHAPTER OF THE BOOK
Prof. Scott is a nice person but class is not easy and he likes to get off subject A LOT. I studied for his tests A LOT and still only made a C. The only thing that saved me were the book reviews. Class started w/25 and ended with 10. I am still taking him for 1302. Tests are NOT just from study guides and lecture and they are worded to confuse you
Scott was great,I now support Ron Paul for any position he chooses to run for in this country.
He is simply a commedian and a politics fanatic. If you wanna enjoy jokes pick him but if you wanna make a good grade, run far away from him.
Sure, you will learn a lot from this teacher. His lecture is interesting and encompass current events. However his tests are tricky . Making a A with him is hard if not impossible
awful professor. did not enjoy at all
He doesn't hand out A's like others do...Homie don't run his class like that. Idk what the person below me is talking about, Professor Scott is pretty good. You gotta do the review sheets and take notes on his lectures if you want a decent grade!! he makes you read a book so um, yeah...
terribad professor. 90% of his lecture is irrelevant to the test. uses the class as a way to spread his own personal political views. Gives you a million review sheets and says you'll be fine if you do all of them, which quite frankly is not true. ALSO HAS YOU DO A SPEECH, so if your like me and you dnt want that, dont take this guy. BAD BAD BAD.
I took his class for summer 1 and i really enjoyed it! Ill be honest with everyone.. he is very straight foward!! Write down EVERYTHING he says clearly! Do ALL the study guides and SKIM through all chapters! Lastly, CHOOSE YOU A GOOD BOOK FOR YOUR BOOK REPORT! If you do all the above you will get an "A". He knows everything about POLITICS TOO!!
well i definetley agree wit the 2nd comment below me.The teacher for me is better than being a comedian than actually teaching. The tests are completely different from the review sheets he gives us. I had to drop this class anyways cuz i had already been taking 3 classes in the summer term and this class require too much out of you.
Very comical, he's passionate about his teaching and politics. Take Lots of notes just about all questions on exams come from his lectures and reviews
VERY interesting class. I loved it! All you have to do is make sure you show up and LISTEN. Take notes on like everything he says and you'll easily make a B. 3 tests and 1 book report at the end. He's really funny and hot too.
I took him for the summer 2 session. He is awesome! I don't know why people are complaining about the reviews not being in the tests. They are! And thank goodness I did them too. Personally, I'm not a big fan of history and he got my attention to the past connecting with the present. If only other professors could be that devoted to their subject.
I took Professor Scott for both U.S History Courses. His classes are a challenge, I'm up for one any given day. Taking notes on just everything he says and reviewing the notes is like a Key in getting a decent grade. Oh,his review sheets are helpful for the test. Hes also really funny and good looking.
Awesome teacher, highly recommened
In my opinion, he is very difficult when it comes to taking his tests. He gives 2 tests and then the final, all 100 questions each. Also, if you don't do well by his standards on the first test, he basically encourages you to drop his class. He tends to get off the subject a lot and he spends quite a bit of time on Youtube.
Bad Bad teacher DONT EVER TAKE HIM,TRUST ME..
Mr. Scott's class is a very difficult one. We started out with more than 20 people and ended with less than 8. At least his lectures aren't horribly boring and read from the book though. He is very enthusiastic about the subject; although his anarcho-capitalist (talk about an oxymoron) views and recycled jokes will be heard in each class.
He always says if he doesn't say it & if it is not on the reviews it won't be on the test, but the reviews sheets are extremely long & half of it isn't on the test. His tests are 100 questions A,B,C,D,E. He gets off topic & tells stories from his childhood. You have to do 2 book reviews & present them to the class. Overall I DON'T recommend him.
After two classes, I did not understand what he is teaching, so I decided to withdraw from the beginning.
have to do 2 speeches in semester test are 100 questions....loves to talk
If you wanted a good class to learn about history, this is not it. He never cracks the book. When he does talk about history he will make wild leaps, like connecting the 3/5 clause to the Fed and spends time ranting about how we should privatize the police department so people can make money off it. Luckily he doesn't vote.
this prof. is mad hard!! his test are 100 questions, you have to do 2 book reports and present them! the questions on the test seem to come from no where! He has these reviews that he doesnt go over so you have no idea if your studying the right info! i would NOT recomend him! Bad name for newyorkers!!
Highly recommended. This professor is great. He teaches history, and also tell jokes that are actually funny. He keeps you engaged in learning and he gives you valuable information you can use in life as well. Great teacher, the only thing I would say that sucks about the class is that he make you do book reports, two for a regular term and one for summer classes. In order to pass, write down everything he writes down, and do the review sheets and you'll be fine.
He is scary! the mere fact that he has an influnece on young minds1 all he relays is his POLITICAL VIEWS and Agenda, telling only one side of the story, and not allowing for debate on both sides. He appears to Hate this country but yet he Stays! He brags about not answering the census nor jury duty, He has a real promblem! I would NOT recommemd Thi
I have had Professor Scott for two semesters. The class requires self study. If you follow the advice in the syllabus it is easy. For the book reports he mostly grades to see if you read it. This professor is fun and interesting! He does not read from the book because he can tell you off the top of his head about it all. Really knows his subject.
He talks alot. He does not tell you what chapter he is covering in lectures. He is all over the place when he talk. He is likes guys more than girls. I would not recommond him at ALL!!! Think twice before taking him!
Best teacher i have ever had! I didn't care at all about history until i took his class and now i love it! He's honest, interesting, awesome, and he's very passionate. Not bad to look at either. If you really what to know about this country's past and perhaps glimpse it's future, TAKE HIM!
His classes are interesting. Info he gives is great, but tests are LONG 100que and HARD! I hate the fact that i learned soooo much but still got a D! 2 book reviews. and the 3 tests, doesnt drop anything those are your grades! I wish the test was about things he discussed in class :( dont take unless he knows u and likes u.
OMG, I love this man!! He is the BEST PROFESSOR I have had in a LONG time. I hated history and he made it fun. He talks about his life stories and they are hilarious. We always watched clips from youtube. 2 book reports test a 100 questions. Do the reviews and you'll be fine. Don't listen to these cry baby students complain!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM! Prior to taking Prof. Scott's class, I've had a spotless GPA. Prof. Scott has just ruined it! Fine, he's a great teacher and he has lots of knowledge, but when your grade is really wat matters at the end,...wats the point! A quarter of what he sets for his tests and exams, have NOTHING whatsoever to do wat's been taught. The effort
that I put into his course is 3 times what i put into others and I ALWAYS have an A! It's like he's terrified to give students A, no matter how HARD the student tries, he feels the best u can ever get is a B. And that is just not fair! ADVICE TO STRAIGHT A STUDENTS! If you want to maintain ur impeccable GPA, run as far as possible from Prof. Christ
that I put into his course is 3 times, wat i put into others and I always have an A! It's like he's terrified to give A's. If u are satisfied with a grade less than A. fine! BUT AN ADVICE TO STRAIGHT A STUDENTS! If u want to maintain ur impeccable GPA? RUN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE FROM PROF. SCOTT!
opher Scott!
he is a very cool teacher but he ventures off topic a lot. his tests are mad hard. just read the book and make sure you do the essays or you will fail. goodluck...
By far the most interesting teacher i have ever had. It sounds corny, but he changed my life. Take him!!!
This class is by far one of the hardest classes I have ever taken (And I've taken 18 hours of engineering). However, at the same time all you have to do is stay caught up with the review sheets he gives out and everything will come together. I enjoy his fresh view on history. Very thought provoking.
He is an incredibly interesting teacher, although he ventures off topic quite a bit. The class is hard, but definitely worth it!
He may look hot for his age but he class is HARD! He likes to use videos from youtube as examples for some of the topic. He likes to travel off topic and talk about his life a lot, but it makes the class more lively. Only 3 test but all super hard! I wouldn't recommend him
This class was hard, not gonna lie, but if you do the review sheets and take detailed note it should be a breeze. Prof. is extremely opinionated and goes off topic frequently but is very knowledgable. This is not an easy class, but you learn a lot.
Great guy, funny, keeps people awake and he knows his history! However, its hard to pass his class. He spends 30 min. of a lecture covering history and the rest seems to be current events, economy or jokes about this and that. He'd be my favorite teacher if he stayed focus on things that would help us pass his 100 q test.Which most ppl didn't pass
DO NOT TAKE HIM. If your looking for a GREAT History teacher I recommend Carol Fry.
can someone tell me if the book review can be any type? or does it has to be related to history?
please. I beg of you. I managed to survive his class. the class in general is fun but his 3 test are extremely hard...you have to know ur history. plus the notes you take are according by his lectures & on the test, 60% on the test are the ones he didnt went over. i guess u have to read the book. but i highly recommend for people to NOT take him
don't take him...you will get a C without a doubt. 3 test no final 3 essays 2 of the essays are analytical and development. other is 4 pages of essay over a book + presentation by the end of semester
Love him, love him, love him. Supper hot.
This is one of the best professors I have had the pleasure of being taught by. The man is fun and informative and is very knowledgable.
I walk recklessly in the school parking lot because i would rather get hit by a car than attend this class.
This class is not for a person who wants to procrastinate in. He only has three exams, one book review, a speech, and two essays to turn in by the end of the semester. If you hate essays and speaking in front of people DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. He also gets off topic alot.
He is an AMAZING professor. I actually looked forward to his class, he's hillarious!Responded to my emails quickly.I got an B on his class. He litterally tells you on the syllabus the things you need to do to be successful. I did them after FAILING my first test. You can't study for tests the night before, very detailed.
AMAZING, so funny. I enjoyed going to class, BUT, as someone said, you CANNOT procrastinate on studying the night before, or writing those big papers due at the end.
In my 2hr class he lectures about history for about 30 mins max and the rest of the time it is Youtube vids and side jokes about his anti government views. His tests have nothing to do with his lectures (literally). dont think about his reviews as a guide because they are pointless comprehensive questions while his test are 100 multiple choice
He is one of the best professor I have ever taken. He knows his subject
Professor Scott is the best professor I've ever had!! I actually looked forward to his class. Everything on the tests comes from his lectures or the reviews. Reviews are essential to pass. 3 tests throughout the semester, and 1 book review with speech and 2 essays due on the last day! (Do NOT procrastinate, you'll fail) Would definitely recommend.
He has never given an A for the course. I can't imagine in all of his years of teaching that not one person has deserved an A. He likes asking trick questions in class and on tests. He gets off topic and talks about his religious and political views more than actually teaching history prior to 1877. This class is not a discussion class.
Pretty good overall, does talk a lot about his political views and the government but other than that good professor and a cool guy.
One of the best professor
Oh my the best Professor I see in my study life. He is always there for those who are serious in their studies. Loved his way of teaching. Very clear and scheduled person.
Professor Scott has got it going on. Super hot haha. He jokes around a lot, if you're sensitive you probably won't like him. Amazing lectures and challenging tests. He's very passionate which is good. Slightly disorganized. Class is fun and interesting. I can say I have learned very much from this class
classes are interesting but testing in difficult.
great professor, tough exams and poor grader
very good looking man. Extremely funny! No room for sensitive sweet kids. Hard core republican and capitalist. Excellent teacher but has very tough question in exams Not an easy grader. YOU HAVE TO STUDY TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE CLASS.
SUPER HOT!!! VERY ATTRACTIVE AND A VERY SEXY SMILE. Capitalist, Extremely funny new yorker, study and you pass!
I liked his personality and he's very funny but he spends most of class talking about irrelevant things. You'd think because he was so lax at teaching that his tests would be essay but NOPE. I read and took noted over each covered chapter and still only scraped a C on his tests. I'm working hard on his essays and book review.
His lectures do not prepare you for the exams. He rarely talks about things that will be on exams, so you have to rely on the book to do well on them.
He is one the funniest professors I've ever had. Tests are +80 questions and actually hard if you don't study. He goes off topic but it's alright because it's like a comedy show. You have to write two 2-pages essays, one 4-pages book review and present it. He tells you that from day one, so try to get it over with early.
His class honestly is SUPER EASY. The only people who give him a bad rating are those who expect to just show up and get an A without studying. You have 3 BASIC 2 page essays due at the end of the semester. Literally tells you what to study for on tests.
Professor Scott makes his grading criteria and expectations clear from the first day of class: 3 tests, 2 essays, 1 book report with a speech. SPEECH IS MANDATORY. Personally did not use text book. If you want to actually learn some history from someone who is passionate about the subject, take professor Scott. One of the best teachers I've had.
Give him a cookie and you get a free A+ on your Exam! Great Teacher!
Lectures have nothing to do with the test. The tests are pretty hard. Get ready to see questions on topics you've never discussed in class. I am usually an A student, but I got a B, while other people that did not do as well on tests did better. He grades with bias and he doesn't post grades online, so he gives random grades based on who he likes
The classroom is a place for him to boast about his old days and story tell. He starts talking about a topic and somehow ends up telling a story from his past. I really studied for all my tests and made high D's. Wasn't really clear about his exceptions on the essays and when I confronted him about my essay grades, he gave me a lame explanation.
He was straight forward about what he wanted. No real homework. If you do what he says you'll pass for sure. Follow his timeline and you'll be fine.
1 book report, two essays, a few tests and a final, pretty straightforward. Hes very engaging and isnt afraid to speak his mind. He is a tough grader however and if you fail the first test, you will struggle for most of the semester, you must read the texbook and take notes!
Professor Scott is a good teacher, but he has a habit of going off topic a lot during his lectures,, and his exams are really tough. However, he has a very clear grading criteria: 3 exams, one of which is the final. 2 essays and a book review that are all due on the last day of school. His exams are from his notes and the book.
Professor Scott would get off topic a lot but he is so funny. Each test was 100 questions. We also had to read a book of our choice (history related) and do a paper on it. Also 2 other essays. Be ready to take notes! He writes SOME stuff down so you have to pay close attention to know what's going to be on the tests.
Mr. Scott's class was fun, but only because he was off topic the whole class. His lectures were mostly funny/interesting stories, and I learned more about pop culture than I did important history. The tests were super long and unrelated to the lecture, and we had multiple long research papers and a presentation. Don't take him if you want to learn.
Professor Scott gets off topic a lot. Write everything down even if it doesn't seem important cause it will be on the tests. New York handsome guy and passionate but unorganized. Needs to chill a bit on his ego. Unsure about the essay critics. Funny guy but hard grader. I would never take him again. 4/10
He's the best professor I ever had. Now I'm working on my master degree and all I remember is how amazing Mr. Scott was. I would take his class just for fun anytime. It is not always about grades, but about really learning the material.
He hardly ever stayed on topic, the only thing i learned in his class was his personal life and his past life in New York. Honestly if he had given a test about his life, i would've passed his class with an A+. Overall he was the worst professor I have ever taken, hands down. Yeah he's funny, but when you receive an F it's not so funny.
Scott goes off topic a lot. so be prepared for that. book is useful for covering bits he thought he had but hasnt because of all the off topicness. nice guy does know his stuff when he talks about it. due to new requirements its now 5 papers. 2 2 page, 2 3 page, and 1 5 page. says you have all semester but doesnt really tell you how to do till end.
Basic papers, and knows his stuff, not too bad to look at either...
Only take scott if you hate your life 8:00 is too early to show up to class and listen to a teacher overcompensating for something and be attacked when asking a simple question. I scraped by the semester with all B's but bombed the final so be careful. I would never take him again and i hope you never have to.
Class was fun, and his lectures were interesting. The tests cover mostly whats inside the book, so although its not stressed, read - the - book, or not even the papers will save you! He cares about his students in all, and he truly wants to get us involved in History. Wish i could have read more! keep track of your syllabus, and take notes!
Professor Scott is a great guy. He really cares about history & isn't afraid to speak his mind. He's passionate about teaching & cares about his students a lot. *You won't hurt his feelings if you take a few notes/laugh at his jokes everything he says is important. Study by reviewing your notes & reading the textbook sections addressed in class.
Go ahead and take his class if you are not very serious about your grades. His class is entertaining, mostly because he jokes a a lot, and he is HOT and CUTE. He loves what he teaches but is a tough grader. Exams are tough. My research papers saved me from failing. If he wasn't so tough on exams, would LOVE to take his class again.
He is very funny and makes the class entertaining but the test is very hard. You will have 3 exams if you do not pass the first one you will be recommended to drop the class.
If you have a short attention span, this class is not for you. I've literally sat for half of the class in the semester and just stopped coming to class. It was a huge waste of time. He would always get off topic talking about 1302 topics and his personal life. When it comes to tests, you'll have 3 and just a bunch of papers.
Professor Scott is probably going to be one of the most memorable professors you'll have. He is hilarious and talks a lot about his past experiences but he is also very knowledgeable about not only U.S. history, but also world history. Teaches with passion and makes lectures very interesting. AND IT'S NOT THAT HARD, IT'S A COLLEGE CLASS.
Professor Scott is the best professor Ive ever had. If you pay attention and take notes in class, you should be okay. Hes very enthusiastic about what he teaches. We had a lot of interesting and engaging discussions in his class, and I truly had fun during his lectures. He is also arcanely handsome.
Professor Scott will have you crying from laughter with his jokes and stories from his past which are about 50% of his class. That way he keeps the students engaged and makes the class ten times more entertaining. His lectures are also very interesting and although he recommends buying the textbook, 90% of his exam questions are from the lectures.
Great professor. Really made going to class fun and exciting! He made history interesting and he always had fun stories to tell throughout lecture. Go to class everyday and take good notes and pay attention and you should do well on the exams.
Makes class extremely interesting and entertaining. Assigns decent amount of essays but theyre all due the last day of class so you have plenty of time the entire semester. Since it was a summer class, it was a little difficult; however, A is achievable if youre willing to put in the work and effort. One of the best professors youll ever take
Scott makes class extremely interesting and funny. Great teacher just make sure to take lots of notes and to pay attention to what he says as random things he'll say in class might come up on the test. Dates almost never came up on tests only names of different events, legal cases, and names of individuals. Great class and would take him again.
Professor Scott's class is one of the best classes I've ever taken. I was disappointed that he wasn't teaching a 1302 class when I was taking it. The guy definitely knows his stuff. Most of the bad ratings are about him getting off topic, but they probably just didn't take good notes. Pay attention; most studying will be through your notes.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He does not care about his students and is bad at lectures. He will always get sidetracked. He is a tough grader and his essays are graded like hes an English professor. I didn't put a cover page for some and he blamed me for the whole class not putting a cover page. More than half dropped his class. he sucks
Dont take this professor because he always get sidetrack in his class by watching football or stienfield. He always talks about his whole life story that no one really cares like when he got bet up by the nuns. He didnt make a study guide till the final and he never submitted anything on blackboard. Texas gov can be very frustrating with him.
Simply put I have never had a worse experience with a teacher or professor in my life. He will let his feelings towards you affect how you treats and teaches you. If you're on his bad side don't expect to pass the class. Tip to say on his good side: don't disagree with him.
He's a man who likes to laugh and has strong opinions (very far right - don't engage. Just let him talk and he'll stop eventually). Always veers off topic. Has 3 tests, 2 analytical essays, and 1 book report. Strongly suggests (read: demands) we all get the most recent copy of the textbook yet he teaches from the very first edition. Don't take him.
He is a very bad professor, I'd not recommend him to anyone. If you care about your GPA RUN.
Professor Scott will shove his opinion down your throat and will actually get upset with you if you disagree. He also gets sidetracked very easily, which isn't really a problem, but he begins talking about the government and strongly expressing opinions with potentially dangerous outcomes. He tells his class he doesn't wear a mask, despite Covid.
Ive never been in a government class with a professor who openly hates the government. The irony. Also does not make grading criteria clear, grades with bias as he sees fit, pushes personal political beliefs.
Wasnt the best Professor. He was replaced half way through the semester. Everyone in my class was failing. He was snobby yet friendly. Not sure why his test were so long and hard. Wouldnt recommend him.
His canvas wasn't ready to go 1+ month into the semester. He was calling Muslims that don't drink hypocrites and saying they did it in secret. He was definitely flirty towards the female students. He had a failed business and had an affair with a married woman. I know this because he told us all of this in class. Really the worst teacher I've had.
Tells you to buy one textbook and then uses another for grading/lectures. Everybody was dropping his class, I have never anything like it
