This teacher was a very great teacher, but, he could be confusing when it comes with new philosophical subjects we begin in class, and when a question is usually asked he gives you two completely different answers that contradict each other. This class is very tedious with reading, highly graded assignments, little to none activities done in class
The class is very easy. Workload consists of 2 short essays and 3 exams. The readings are all short. He discusses the books in class and goes over the answers in great depth. Very random sense of humor. He takes a day before each exam to go over possible exam questions. Random Fun fact: Reminded me a bit of Ned Flanders from the Simpsons.
Professor would get a little lost at times, and start rambling. Provides study guides, for all exams. Very helpful when you have questions. He tries to explain things to you in a way that you come to the conclusion on your own, rather than give you the answer. Do well on the essays, and study the study guide, easy.
I was debating taking PHIL 102 because of hearing everyone talk about how difficult the subject was, but after taking Sevier, I disagree! He explained everything to me that I didn't understand and was very easy to reach and quick to respond to my problems. I found this course challenging, but Sevier made it easier. Would definitely recommend him!
I was really nervous to take this class, but I am so glad I took it with Dr. Sevier. The material is challenging, but I think he does a good job of breaking it down.
Horrible professor. I read all the homework and paid attention in class and still failed along with half of the class, or at least the ones who didn't drop out. We read 5 books and they were all confusing and his lectures made it worse. Don't take him unless you're really into philphil major.
Professor Sevier is an alright guy. He has moments when he can be funny af. The course is pretty much read the homework he assigns you and study. THE TESTS ARE BASED ON THE HOMEWORK AND READING!!! I slacked off a bit and didn't do as well as I could've but I deserved what I got. Do not take this class if you're not fond of reading textbooks.
Professor Sevier is a great Philosophy professor. I took him twice. There is a lot of reading, but you go over it, and the homework that is assigned with the readings, in class. He is helpful and will take the time to help you out if needed. Be prepared to read, and think! I definitely would recommend him.
I took his summer class, and there was a LOT of reading. There were about two readings after every lecture, and about 4-12 questions to answer per reading that were not harshly graded. He goes over the questions in class and the test had the questions we had already been over. He gets off of track easily, but I really enjoyed the concepts.
Attendance was mandatory. The lectures were important because he would go over the previous homework in detail making sure you understand everything you had to do and check to see if you got it right. He is a great teacher and if I would have gone to class I would have passed easily.
Great professor and easy class. Pay attention and it is an easy A. Answers questions thoroughly and is invested in what he is teaching. Would highly recommend.
Mr. Sevier opens your mind to critical thinking. Homework and lessons are covered in-depth while in class, as well as any questions you might have. Homework assignments are given out, and graded for participation. 4 exams, all which should be studied for to fully grasp the material. Dr. Sevier is willing to help and is very nice in doing so.
Great teacher. Some of the readings are hard, but after the first readings you get used to what he expects. Do good on the two papers throughout the semester and you will be fine.
He is one of the most nicest teachers out there! He answers anyone's questions clearly until they get it. Homework is based on participation, and make sure to attend class if you don't get a homework!
The professor was a pretty funny and nice dude. The class was really easy. You just do the homework posted and talk through the answers in detail in class. Seriously just do the homework and understand it so come test time you'll do fine. Find a cheap version of the book cuz homework is based off of that. Pretty straightforward class.
very kind and warm teacher. Philosophy just isnt for everyone, but he was great and had passion. No problem passing if you do the work
Mr. Sevier is a kind, and definitely patient professor! He will give you tons of examples, which are needed. He is available to you for questions and assistance with understanding. I still got tutoring, just because of the amount of fallacies we had to know . I passed with a high grade, which enrolling in this I thought I would barely pass.
The Professor is nice, but grading is based mostly on the test scores, as the homework score does not add up to much and it does not depend on whether you got it right. There is no extra credit or an activity that would engage you differently; it's all reading and lectures. Students with ADD /learning disabilities, will find it very challenging.
Homework doesn't really matter. The two papers and the two exams are really what your grade will depend on. He is a great teacher and you can definitely tell he's passionate about Philosophy, but if you mess up on any of those four things your grade will hurt.
He is straight forward. He is very passionate about the subject he teaches. You will pass the class if you do the work. However the work takes a lot of time and the points for it is not rewarding for the time and effort spent doing the homework. His lectures are hard to understand and difficult to take notes on.
If you have another option, take it. He is a good guy but not a good professor. Lectures are hard to keep up with. He is easy to reach through email and will help if you ask be prepared for a 15 minutes answer to a yes or no question. The felt depressing nearly the whole lecture everyday. Wouldn't recommend unless youve had experience with the type
Save yourself the F and don't take his class. His lectures were boring and he is a really tough grader. Literally any other philosophy professor would be better than him.
Gives very detailed and enthusiastic lectures. He is a funny guy and he's very passionate about philosophy. CSN is lucky to have someone like him, he gives Ivy League lectures. Take notes, print out all your assignments, and you will ace the 2 exams/papers.
2 papers, 2 tests, and homework questions due through Canvas. He lectures heavy, and it is hard to keep up if you do have a learning disability. However, he is approachable and will help you if you have any questions regarding the material.
You will fail if you don't put in effort. He's awesome. 2 papers but he lets you submit as many drafts as you want. I submitted 4 drafts for each paper and both times he responded with pages of feedback to help me. I've never had a professor who cared that much! HW q's are the test q's and he goes over thoroughly in class. Tests are 10 questions
The class itself is a bit more difficult than average, so you need to be willing to put in the time. Once you get over that, this Professor is exceptional at explaining things and willing to take the time to go over difficult concepts, rather than push through and leave some behind. Participate and study like normal, and you'll pass.
i took summer in-person class. I only had 3exams and homework of each of 10 chapters. He skipped some of the chapters due to shortness of summer which is good. He is so enthusiastic and passionate about the lecture. You will definitely get an A as long as you turn in homework and exams on time through canvas. I would highly recommend!
Professor Sevier's class was by far one of the most structured online courses that I have taken at CSN. You have to work for the grade but it's an easy A if you stay on schedule, read the material and do well on the reading assignments, homework and exams. I highly recommend this professor!
Great Professor. He is clear on what is expected, and readily available for any questions. He understands we have a life outside from school, and as long as you do your school work you'll be fine.
The beginning of the semester is boring because of the book you have to read but it only last a few weeks and once you move on from there it gets so much better. Practice and homework are online and are very easy to do and track. His lectures are great and very helpful. Hes such a wholesome, funny, and smart man. Will make sure you understand. :)
This professor will not give you extra credit if you are having difficulties or got lower grades. It's hard if you can't thinking critically. He will sit on his chair teaching powerpoint and you figure out by yourself how you are gonna learn. If you fail in your test there's nothing that he can do about it. Very disapointing. homework is on test.
Professor moves on really fast in his lectures and is really hard to keep up with. Philosophy is a really hard subject to comprehend, studying is the major key to this class. 4 Exams and a homework assignment each class.
You have to do all the homework everyday. You have to read the textbook. A lot of homework! Give study guide before the test and have in-class discussion for the answers for the test, on the test day you are confident because you reviewed everything from the discussion, but ended having an F. DO NOT TAKE HIM. His class discussions were very boring!
Class is pointless only goes over homework. Tests are hard, even with studying I get C/Ds and Im an A/B student.
The book for the first part of the class was very boring for me, but the homework on it was not hard. The second part was more interesting and the lectures were very helpful. I received quick responses the couple of times I reached out.
This is a class where you should show up to class, do the HW, and ask questions. He will work with you if you put forth the effort. He makes the material easy to understand. I really like how he does the Homework and how he goes over it in class in detail
Read half of a book for the first 3 weeks. Super easy read, super easy homework. Lectures just go over previous homework. He explains things in a weird way that many don't understand (rambler) but overall the subject is easy to grasp if you just go over it logically Reading assignment and homework assignment each week using online textbook nice guy
Don't let the syllabus or book scare you 1st class! He makes the class easy. He has us read (part of) a book the first month, his lectures cover it all and will help significantly. Nice guy, online text book and all online homework. Tests are way easier than homework and examples given in class. Attendance isn't mandatory to pass with a good grade.
Class is pointless. The homework is due before class and his lectures are hard to follow. It's hard to learn the material when you don't know which question you're going over. Two papers and two exams. You can submit as many drafts for the paper as you want. The exam questions are made from the homework questions. Grades depend on your exam/papers.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS IF U CARE FOR U he will most likely give you a D or F on your 2 exams or papers he will give you a study guide with 30 questions with 4 parts to one question that is. ONLY HAVE 12 ON THE MIDTERM. study it for days but still fail you lol he cant think like his way, good luck. HARD GRADERR... RUDE ... THROUGH A PANDEMIC LOL
Don't take this professor. All assignments are worth 1 point, so if you miss one you're screwed. His lectures were as difficult to understand as the reading material. It felt more like a lit class than a phil class, because all you talk about is the difficult reading questions. Save yourself the stress.
If you care about your mental health... don't take his class!!!! He is the worst! Heavy critique! If you don't put the words he wants in the exam, he'll lower your points. For the essays, he will write an essay critiquing everything you did wrong. He is not willing to give extra credit, and lectures are boring.
Avoid him like coronovirus. Tells you exams r exactly like the hw & study guide, you do exactly that and still fail. Never gives you a direct answer when you reach out. gives you PAGES on why everything is wrong. save your gpa. grades way to hard for a 101 classs. Compared exams w, class same answers diffrent grades. belittles students.
Worst online teacher to take during the pandemic. Is not lenient at all although we are in a pandemic and grades very roughly. Honestly, he isn't a bad person but his teaching style isn't ideal for taking a 101 class when you're just here for the credit. I turned in an assignment one minute late and gave me 0 points on it. Avoid!!!
I actually enjoyed this class. Professor is very enthusiastic, which in-turn made me exited to learn. Only negative things about him is that he's a tough grader and his tests are worded in a confusing way. Another thing, his homework grading system was weird. Other than those things he was overall a good professor.
This was my first philosophy course and I enjoyed it so much I changed my major. Dr Sevier easily broke down the concepts in his lectures to make them understandable, especially if you did the reading beforehand. The class was well organized, and there was a clear line between homework and lecture. Do a little reading, and this is an easy A.
I'll admit I was nervous to take a Philosophy class at first but this Professor made it fun and enjoyable. Lectures and assignments were very straight - forward. You can tell that he cares about the subject matter and makes you think about how it applies to our everyday lives. His expectations are reasonable and the class was very organized.
Was a great class with good reading materials that were actually interesting, unlike many other classes. As long as you read the material and try on the homework you will get an A. He is super nice and provides feedback on everything.
Took Phil 101 pre pandemic and loved it. Because of this experience I took his Phil 102 class during the pandemic. Had another great experience. All expectations are clearly laid out. Easy to get in touch with, gives feedback. Lectures are great and relate to all material. If you read and complete the work you will pass.
I really liked him as a professor. I thought his class was well constructed. I didn't find the tests to be overly difficult. I thought the homework was pretty chill each week. If I ever asked a question he would respond quickly and explain things well. His lectures may have not been the most entertaining but I could tell he cared about the material
I took Prof. Seviers class for Phil 102, and it was a good experience! He made the class environment very welcoming. Hes thorough and makes everything clear and organized. I took his class during the pandemic, and although it was sad to not talk in person, he still was able to get his lectures and points across.
If you need to take a philosophy class I recommended his class! He was a very good teacher and his lectures were great and homework and tests were super easy! 10/10!!
Philosophy101 is a class that most students need to take for their major. Some may see it as unnecessary, but if there is something that has changed my life positively in my college experience, it has to be Dr. Seviers philosophy 101 class. Understanding the wisdom written by the ancients is a hefty task, but his lectures makes it fun and engaging
The Syllabus was very clear, study, do the assignments, pass. I enjoyed the class, loved that it was a true online course. Will definitely take again, recommend him to everyone.
Professor Sevier really has a real passion for Philosophy! He puts in the hard work and expects you to do it too! He is there for any questions you may have! This class really opened my eyes to how the world works. I really enjoyed this class!
Dr. Christopher Sevier is an excellent professor, I highly recommend his class! This was my second semester entirely online during the pandemic. I struggle with online courses, especially when they are discussion based. However, I really enjoyed the format of this class. Readings and assignments were straight forward and the class was insightful.
Great proffesor that made learning lectures easy to follow. His lectures went perfect with the tests and exams. I don't always pass classes with an A but I passed his with one. I advice to take notes especially on the videos. I took notes on everything in lectures and I highlighted key points. I didn't really need the book but I still read through.
I had Professors Seviers class last semester. As long as you do the work, youll get an A+. He doesnt turn you away if you have questions. He is ready to be there for you and answer any questions you may have. He doesnt try to be a crutch for you but he does point you in the right direction.
Dr. Seviers class Phil 102 class began with a reading assignment of the book How to Read a Book. His guidance alongside this book prepared me for the workload that I would see in the most difficult college courses. Most importantly he wants to see his students succeed and his feedback is always very helpful.
Dr. Sevier was a great professor and he was always available to answer any of my questions. As long as you do the work you will pass the class.
Dr. Sevier was an exceptional teacher. Though he does not require it, I HIGHLY reccommend sending in a draft of your essays in because he gives VERY detailed feedback, which is extremely helpful.
I have taken both of Dr. Sevier's classed, and during Covid too. He has been easily accessible even through the pandemic, and his class was very easy to navigate. He keeps things interesting in lectures, and will always get back to you within 24 ours of reaching out to him. He's wonderful teacher and I would take a class with him again if I could.
Took this class online in summer. For a one month class, the pace is not too bad. Self study pace and recommend to take in the summer.
Took as an online summer class, and it was such a good experience. Aware of what's expected of you at start of class. Lectures and reading aren't mandatory, but both aren't too heavy so I would recommend doing both and you will get an easy A. highly recommend!!
I just finished the online summer Phil 102 course and would 100% take it again. The chapters weren't long at all and test Q's are HW Q's. The material could be difficult to understand, but his lectures are there if you need them. I would skim each chapter once, do the homework, and easily pass the test. The homework is actually really helpful too!!
I enjoyed this online class! The course was split into reading with homework from a book and the other was a McGrawHill program. The tests are easy when you understand the material (prof can be available). The professor gives amazingly detailed feedback that actually tells you what's wrong and how to fix it, which makes everything easier.
The work is SO easy. he gives only 2 exams i believe or three but theyre 20 questions. he tests u on vocab. the hw is easy too and doesnt take alot of time. he assigns two assignments at a time. so its easy 2 keep up. he gives space inbetween to finish the work. His lectures are long.. so make time. he replies fast too which is so good.
Has videos that help you understand the chapters. Took Online 8 week course 2 exams, not much homework. Work at your own pace. Can finish weekly homework in one day!
This is a wonderful professor, the reason why I gave him a "3" for difficulty is because you need to actually get the information down. If you are a student who follows the course and the schedule then you will do great!
This class was very straight forward as long as you do what youre supposed to and dont get behind. There is a lot of reading involved but its manageable. There is a quiz or questions to answer following the chapters you read.
Dr. Sevier was always willing to help when I sought clarification on assignments. He answers questions in a timely manner and offered reassurance when I bombed a quiz. I buckled down and reviewed his lectures and ended up with an A- in his course. I would highly recommend his course if you want a caring, knowledgeable and hands on instructor
Sevier had pre recorded lectures and the test fallowed the homework. If you study you pass.
This class can be so beneficial if you are ready to dive in. For students truly interested in philosophy - aka the love of wisdom - this class is for you. I learned so much, and I really loved the required reading materials because if you allow it, some of those scriptures can bring life changing realizations. Prof breaks it down like no other too
Really enjoyed the way he set up his classes and lectures. Made it easy to take notes and understand the class.
His class was well organized and expectations were clear and he followed the syllabus exactly. Weekly assignments are easy. As long as you read the material. Tests questions come directly from the weekly assignments. He gives the answers to all questions during class. Tests are easy. If you want an easy A and learn some philosophy take his class.
Organized, listens to the students, helpful if you have any questions. Responds quickly to emails. He explains the material clearly and how to read the complicated material.
Easy to follow and lectures are easy to follow. There is a lecture, learn smart, and a homework assignment each week. class started off with a book that you write a short paper about. Pretty easy grader and will let you know what you did wrong in a respectable manner. Test every three chapters and are not that hard. Great professor!
The course was difficult, but Dr. Sevier provided a very informative and stimulating course. His lectures were clear, informative, and helped me understand and grasp the concepts behind the material. Added benefit was the humor here and there. Also, he always responded to my questions expeditiously! I would recommend him hands down!
This professor is very articulate and has a talent for simplifying some VERY complex logical concepts. If you are a business major or pre-law major, you will gain a whole lot from his style and curriculum. You will receive at least two opportunities to fully immerse yourself in the material: his lectures and the textbook. The lectures were superb.
I took the 8 week course online assignment are do every week online, can knock them out in one day! Test are also multiple choice and done online. Optional recorded lectures for you to better understand the sections!
I took his class in person for PHIL101. he may not call you out for making mistakes in class, but will make sure to send everyone an email in regards to what happens, pretty shady and unprofessional. make sure your name is on every single work or else you will immediately receive a zero for that work and you may not go back and resubmit it.
This is the basic college class. It was really simple. The concepts did get more difficult, but nothing too bad. There were weekly quizzes and tests every few weeks. As long as you read the chapter, you will be good. Need to purchase the textbook to access the hw. The 16 week course can be easily completed in 8 weeks.
I took this class online & it was great! You have to purchase this program where you'll have access to ur hw, tests, and textbook. Plus a book (which you will only use for the beginning and only read a few chapters. His videos are informative. As long as you watch his videos and take notes on the hw examples you're good. I only had to write 1 paper
Great course overall! Go to the lectures, it helps you practice and do well on the exams. Some info is repetitive because it goes over the chapters you had to read for homework. Dr. Sevier is very understanding, and there is plenty of time to do the homework, however, the program he uses DOES NOT accept late work.
Great professor and course.
Great professor & course. Required textbook paired with access to online program. 2 assignments a week, 1 paper, & 4 online exams that can be done at home. Responds to emails quick. Review lectures on material for hw/exams with practice problems that could be on exams. Attendance not mandatory, but gives extra points if absent 2 or fewer times.
Professor Sevier had a very well organized and fairly easy class. Very easy to work ahead and homework was actually relevant to your tests so use it as a study tool. One physical book and one online book is required. Highly reccomend if you like to work ahead as the syllabus has a schedule for all due dates. Highly reccomend!
Amazing Professor! I actually learned in this course. Professor Sevier provided recorded lectures and strict deadlines which made it so much easier to stay on top of the online course. 10/10 recommend this professor. I wish more professors were like him!
Easiest class of my life.
Professor Sevier was very clear. I took his 8-week summer class. It was 6 chapters and 2 exams. As long as you do the homework, you should be able to pass the exams. The professor also sends announcements about when the exam will be open and when it will close. Would 100% take him again.
Professor Sevier has reasonable expectations. Syllabus was clear on homework and tests. There were only 6 homework assignments and 2 exams. If you had any issues he responded in a timely manner. His lectures were beneficial. Would take his classes again.
Teacher uses McGraw Hill's Connect-LearnSmart software: 6 Class Assignments; 6 Homework and #1 Exam (3 chapters) and #2 Exam (3 chapters). Class assignments/Homework are easy A's (unlimited # of attempts and LearnSmart points to answers in book. The 2 Exams are easy A's. Just study from class assignment and homework. Easy A, no stress GREAT teacher
350 words isn't enough, this professor usually responds to emails within the same hour! Something rare on this campus! He is very understanding, he has an easy course, the homework is easy, and you have to go out of your way to fail this class. This professor was the best I had, if you need the credit I highly recommend this professor, best one!!!!
I enjoyed being taught by Professor Sevier. He is able to teach a difficult topic well and keep things enjoyable at the same time. Professor Sevier has video lectures for every assignment which are incredibly helpful. He has great things to say as well as some humorous moments within these lectures.
This course was 100% self taught and he is honest about that from the start, which is the only reason I'm rating 4 instead of 5. Overall the course was relatively easy but felt kinda bad that I paid to teach myself something and had next to no interaction with my professor. I should have been paid for the class since I did all the teaching.
Most of the grading is based on quizzes so be prepared to read and watch his online lectures. If you have the time to do that, it should be an easy A. You don't need to show up to class if you take his hybrid courses.
Fantastic teacher! You can tell he's truly passionate about what he teaches. There's a quiz after each chapter, but if you read the material it's an easy A. Whether you're taking this class as a requirement or an elective, I highly recommend Dr. Sevier!
I didn't interact much with Professor Sevier, but my experience in his online Phil102 course was great! There are 4 exams throughout the semester and quizzes for each chapter of the two books we read. You get around 2-4 assignments/quizzes due at the end of each week, but they're fairly simple if you read. Easy class to pass & goes well with Eng101
This teacher was amazing! This was a straightforward class do your work and PASSS! easy as that. I recommend this teacher 100000%. Seriously if you do all your work this is an easy A. PROMISE!!! I would take again please take this classsss
His class was very simple and you only have to make sure to read and do the lessons and hw. The first part of the class is reading the Adler book and with every next unit, he has lectures that are optional that really just break everything down. These are very helpful and there is honestly no way to fail this class.
Dr. Sevier's in-person course was very interesting. Dr. Sevier really loves what he does and tries his best to make sure the class is engaged. There is readings every week with two assignments, both assignments can be completed based on the reading. There are four exams total and two required textbooks, each lesson builds on the last. Awesome class
There was a lot of reading in the class and the textbook was confusing for some chapters. However his lectures were SUPER helpful with understanding the difficulty chapters. Not a lot of homework just quizzes and exams based on 2-3 chapters.
The instructor always went the extra mile to provide us extra material for us to use to study, and reminded us about deadlines. Clear that he cares about students, and the course was interesting. I took the class online, so you have to be self-sufficient, but it was perfect for me because I knew what I was signing up for. You can ask him for help.
One of the best classes I've taken. It's an easy A if you read the books. 2 assignments per week- you are able to retake as many times as possible, 5 exams. The assignment questions were part of the exam. EASY and very inciteful. Lectures are very informative especially for the difficult chapters.
While I know nothing about other Philosophy professors at CSN, Dr. Sevier has to be one of the best. He is passionate about his subject, always goes the extra mile to teach and help EVERY student that needs it, and makes the material seem easy. Would absolutely take more classes with him.
I believe everyone should take this class. Learning how to think critically and analytically in today's world is a must. Dr. Sevier explains difficult concepts in his lectures which is helpful. Weekly homework in McGraw Hill and tests every few chapters are reasonable. You can easily pass this class as long as you do the work. Highly recommend.
Dr. Sevier was an incredible professor who facilitated access to all the materials for this online class. His recorded lectures provided a clear and informative overview of all the concepts covered within the class, and his caring attitude is apparent in his prompt responses to emails. I would definitely recommend taking Dr. Sevier's class!
Dr. Sevier is great! His expectations are clear and reasonable (4 weeks summer course, really condensed). His lectures are calm and insightful. Unlimited attempts on HW so you can really learn and get an A on those and the exams. Interesting course, would take him again!!
I took the summer course and honestly I was a little hesitant about dropping the class because I was also taking another class. But I am so glad I went through with it and passed with an A! He is very clear from the beginning about the assignments, hw, and quizzes which you do need to buy an online access for it. Stay on task and you will pass!
I am taking this class next semester! I am very excited!
Professor Sevier was honestly such a great and ea
I am taking this class! There will be homework for every chapter and Adler quizzes!
I recommend Dr. sevier Phil 102 class! The assignments are in connect and tests are very simple!
Makes learning easy, is passionate and knowledgeable about the subject
Professor is very helpful and gives great feedback. This class is an easy A as long as you study and put the work in.
Prof. Sevier's class was easy-going and pretty straightforward. You'll be learning a lot of reading techniques and annotations/ definitions but it's not difficult. This professor cares a lot about his students and responds pretty quickly to emails! Definitely recommend him!!!
I love this class as a 4-week online course. The textbook used is expensive ($100) and mandatory, but it's extremely helpful, making the class easier. The course isn't hard and is an easy 3 credits. Consider taking it during the summer.
Excellent online course. Uses McGrawHill online, which is super conducive to learning. If you do all of the homework, exams will be a breeze. Great lectures, great textbook, great resources. Dr. Sevier knows how to run an online classroom. Take 102 with him. Was 4 weeks long, yet not overwhelming with work.
I took Dr. Seviers' Philosophy class during the summer and I'm very glad I did. He's an amazing professor, he replies back to you quickly if you have any issues or questions about the homework, lectures online that are optional to watch and he gives you an ample amount of time to turn in the homework which you can take an unlimited amount of times.
I recommend Dr. Sevier Phil 102 class to anyone who need a credit and the assignments was fun. Tests are very easy if you do the homework. Reading quizzes and four exams.
I took this class this spring 2024. Tests are interesting and homework was unlimited attempts.
An engaging online class with a great professor. The textbook is pricey but helpful, and the workload is manageable. Try using Unstuck AI alongside the free resources to ace this course.
Dr. Sevier gives really good lectures, he makes everything very easy to understand. I recommend going to the lectures even though attendance isn't required, the lectures give you an in depth understanding of the texts and they're very enjoyable. He's a great professor!
Good teacher, decent amount of work but if you keep up with the textbook it's an easy grade.
most of what you do is go over the readings for the books we read, thats the textbook. you only rlly need to buy one of the books the rest are free. 4 exams, each going over their section, a quiz for every chapter you read (the assignments pretty much) and 2 mandatory in class writing assignments. hes good at explaining during the lectures
This critical thinking class was a bit challenging for me. If you listen to a lecture off handed without really thinking about every word, it can start to sound like another language. This being said, Dr Sevier really walks you through the material and ensures he has repeated the info needed I. Several ways to ensure it starts to sink in.
His lectures are very well planned out and easy to follow along with. Although attendance isn't required, actually being in the class and listening to the lectures is so helpful for further understanding. He is very good at explaining each new lesson without overloading you with too much information. A chill professor, definitely take his class.
Attendance isn't required but if you have a hard time, he loves answering questions and there are NEVER wrong/stupid questions. He is always happy to help any student if they have any problems with the classwork or project. Definitely take his class, you won't regret it!
Professor Sevier is one of the best online instructors I've had at CSN. The course was super organized, everything was clear from the start. Communication was always timely/helpful, and he really cared about us doing well. The layout makes it easy to stay on track, and as long as you put in effort, you'll definitely succeed.
Definitely take this class. He's really funny which make his lectures fun. You can tell he loves his subject. It was actually really interesting and fun to learn about. I really did learn a lot. You just have to read the material which is isn't too much, do the easy homework, and show up if you can. 10/10 worry less class.
