HE is chill

Bio 181 is known for being one of the toughest 100 level classes at NAU, but this guy makes it easy as possible for you. He gives his students so many resources and so much of his time. His lectures are hilarious and memorable. If you show up and put effort in he will help you understand the material and you'll do great.

Amazing teacher! His lectures are interesting and he's pretty funny. He's very good at explaining the material and is interactive and friendly with his students. He is very respected and very liked. I definitely recommend him!!!

Dr. S is the best professor out there. Other people taking this same class with other professors are struggling to keep a C and most of my class have high A's. He has great study guides and works hard to make sure we know the content . As long as you use the study guides, go to class, and do the work, you'll get an A.

Best Professor I have ever had. Gives Extra Credit on every test and gives Extra Credit just for having good attendance. As long as you listen to the lectures and do the entire study guide there is no reason you should not get an A.

If you skip class you won't pass. His lectures aren't something you would want to miss... He makes the material interesting for the most part, and he will tell you what is and what isn't worth studying throughout the chapters. If you listen in lecture, do the assigned work, and do the study guides you will receive a grade A college education.

Dr. Sthutlz is an amazing professor who does everything in his power to make the class smoother for students. He offers extra credit, study guides, and office hours. He is lively during lectures and explains things in a way the students can understand. Great professor and I hope to take another class with him in the future!

I love Dr.S! Even though this class is literally killing me, it is not because of anything he is doing wrong. He is always their to help me if I need it and he truly cares about all of his students so genuinely. Best BIO 181 professor at NAU GET IN HIS CLASS!!!!

The professor is super nice. He relates the material to real life so it is easier to understand. He cares about his students, and wants them to succeed. He is happy to help outside of class to go over previous tests and if you miss class. The lectures do go pretty fast.

I absolutely LOVED this professor! I have a very hard time understanding Biology and he was able to explain difficult concepts in a very clear manner. Sthultz was enthusiastic about biology and made the lectures as fun and interesting as possible. He also gave 3 different types of extra credit! Totally awesome! Take him!

Honestly, one of the best professors I've had. He is very quirky and a funny guy, which makes the lectures very fun. He relates very well to college students and knows exactly what we need. 10/10 in my opinion, I purposely made my second semester schedule around getting him as a professor.

I loved Professor Sthultz! I took him for Bio 181 & 182 and wish I could continue taking him. Gives lots of extra credit and drops lot of things in the gradebook. It is a little lecture heavy, but if you pay attention, study, and attend SI's you'd do just fine. Highly recommend Professor Sthultz!

He is such an amazing teacher. He makes the lectures so entertaining that you don't mind sitting there the whole time. He is extremely funny and cares about his students. He's definitely my favorite teacher so far. The class itself was really easy, especially for Bio majors with a basic understanding before the class starts.

Dr. S was great!!! I had him for both 181 and 182. He can keep anyone entertained during lectures and he gives so many opportunities to save your grade. Just make sure to take notes/print out the slides before class and go to the SI sessions before the exams! Also, don't be afraid to talk to him whenever you need. He's very friendly and helpful!

The class is amazing! Professor Sthultz knows what he's doing and is so enthusiastic about his teaching that you can't help but love it too. He has an amazing personality and always strives to make sure that his students understand what the information is saying.

Absolutely LOVE Professor Sthultz. He is so inspiring during his lectures and easily helps you understand the concepts with fun jokes and great metaphors. The class is hard, don't get me wrong, but Prof. Sthultz makes it worth your while. Definitely take this teacher if you have the option!!!!!!!!!!!!

Professor Sthultz is amazing! I took him for 181 and knew I had to have him for 182. He makes the lectures very interesting, and is very caring towards his students. He truly cares that you get a good grade, so he does offer a lot of incentives in order to get a high grade. Sthultz is funny and I am so glad I had the opportunity to take his classes

Dr. S. is one of the funniest professors I have ever had. He occasionally had to cancel class or forgot to assign homework (which no one ever had a problem with), but his lectures were well-done and easy to follow. Getting an A was easy... it would have taken a ton of effort to not pass. Buy the access code from the publisher, not the bookstore. :)

Everyone loves Dr. Sthultz. You can't not love the guy. He loves biology and is super passionate, and skips over a lot of the dense and boring material to focus on the more applicable parts of biology, rather than focusing on taxonomy. He is hilarious and a great teacher. Easy A, but you still have to study for tests. TONS of extra credit on exams.

Dr. S is an amazing professor and truly cares about his students and wants them to do well. He makes himself approachable for his students. He is enthusiastic during his lectures and expects respect from his students, but gives much respect in return. I wasn't a big fan of printing the lecture notes before class. Offers a lot of extra credit!!!

Lots of extra credit opportunities, but learn the material. Print the lectures he provides before each class and write down what he mentions that is not on the slide, record the lectures, and highlight the points he talks about. Very important to study, but a great class overall.

Sthultz is a super engaging presenter, especially for this course. It helps to print the power points before class and take notes on them. The textbook is just an access code for homework, but the homework is fairly easy with a lot of chances to get it right. Expect to learn a lot about fungus, especially mycorrhizae.

He is the best professor i have had. He gives excessive amounts of opportunities to students for extra credit, bringing the grade up, and knowing what will be on the test. If you read the lectures before class, participate and GO to class you will have the best experience possible in this class with the outcome you want.

Dr. S is great and if you pay attention during lectures (which are fun and energetic because of him), he emphasizes what you'll need to know and his study guides are the best. The exams are straight forward and fair. Homework is expected, it's time-consuming but not terrible. He gives you opportunities to earn extra credit.

If you have the option, take Dr. S! He makes his time with you count, and you always leave wanting to learn more. He made it clear what he wanted from you, and it was just a matter of if you do it, or not. Sit in the front, because he is the kind of prof who takes notice if you do, and you will feel so immersed in lecture. Study hard for exams!

This class was the best class I took my first semester freshman year. Even though the class was tough, every homework assignment helped me to understand the course even better. Listening to him lecture made me actually learn the material, not just memorize it. He offers 3% extra credit to your final grade if you have great attendance also!

Was a great instructor, gave a great extra-credit offer. Breezes through lectures, pre-print them and learn on your own w/ the McGraw Hill online book. So many chances for help, if you're struggling, go meet with him during office hours and I guarantee you will learn it. If you struggle and don't go, it'll get worse. Dropped b/c of changed major.

The material was difficult for me but Dr. S made it easier to understand. He's a great professor and he loves what he does.

When he says leave your grade at the door he really means it. such an amazing guy and an amazing teacher. he really does care about you, show respect to him, draw pictures, and dont miss class and youll for sure pass. its a lot of information but he does an amazing job of teaching you.

Dr. S is a great teacher! The class is very difficult so be prepared to study a lot. He sometimes gives group quizzes but still be sure to read the material.

Dr. S is an amazing! He takes complex concepts and breaks them down so students can relate. There are weekly online assignments, only a hand full of exams, and weekly quizzes (sometimes group quizzes). He respects his students and is very flexible. As long as you respect him, take advantage of resources, and show up to class- you are set!

AMAZING PROFESSOR!! I would take him again if I could! Great man and the class is probably the best out of all the Bio classes. Bio in general is a kinda difficult subject, but just pay attention and you'll pass. I got an A he was just amazing!

YOU NEED TO STUDY

Honestly, getting an "A" in the class and on exams is easy. Effort is the key, resources such as the SI, TA, and office hours WILL improve your grade. Study guides help a lot although the exam is worded in a difficult way, just ask Dr. Sthultz for help clearing up a question. He's funny and understanding, sit in the front and print lectures.

Sthultz was an amazing professor to have, he really cares about his students and has very engaging lectures. He is the bio proffesor that you want to get, that's why his classes fill up so fast. Make sure you keep up on top of the syllybus, he offers a lot of chances to bump your grade.

Amazing professor! He really cares about his students and is always there for anything you need. Show up to class and turn in your work on time and you will receive a good grade. He always reminds you when assignments are due. Not a whole lot of homework and tests follow the review guide. Lectures are entertaining and quizzes are usually in groups.

Mr. Sthultz is a really great professor. He makes lecture fun and keeps the students engaged. He is very nice and helpful when you have questions. He responds pretty quickly through email. If you pay attention and do the homeworks and quizzes, you'll pass the class no problem.

He was a tough teacher but overall a very good one. He had weekly quizzes, some were individual and others it was a group quiz. He has four exams throughout the semester, drops your lowest exam score. If you get an average of 90 of all of them you dont take the final. DO THE STUDY GUIDES THEY WILL HELP YOU SO MUCH FOR EXAMS. Sthultz was an amazing professor. He always provided study guides for the exams and he made lectures very interesting. He was very good at breaking down the information in a way that you can understand it. I never felt overwhelmed in the class. I loved his class & will be taking BIO182 with him next semester.

Shultz was the best professor I have ever had! He cared about his students inside outside of the classroom. If you had any questions he was always there to help you. His study guides are amazing. The test are not too difficult if you do the study guide and review the power-point. Overall I would take this class again in a heartbeat!

He's one of my favorite professors. He's funny and his class is easy. He is not afraid to tell you what material to focus on and what material to just glance over. But the thing that made his class easy for me was that he posts his presentations online.

Loved him! You do have to study for the tests but thats to be expected. Offers a lot of extra credit on tests and homework is a guaranteed 100. Grade boost for showing up to class. Took him for 181 and 182 and loved him.

Cares a lot about his students. Used an online textbook, tons of outside work. If you miss a class, you will miss so much! Tons of notes and reading and quizzes. You have to do a lot of outside studying. Very in depth class.

Sthultz is amazing. You do not want to take any other professor for this class. He expects you to put in effort and if you do it's an easy A. If you get an average of an A on all tests you don't take the final. He drops lowest test score and has extra credit on all exams. He wants you to succeed and helps you to do so. Great professor. The notes are all online, and he tries to inspire you. But Im someone who likes to sit on my phone when Im bored. He HATES that. Be respectful, and hell respect you back.

I suck at biology, but understood it when he lectured. He is one of the funniest professors I have ever had, and you will love being in his class. It is pretty difficult, though (course-wise); but, if you ask him for help, hes there for you. Do not skip class, take your notes, and study.

He was such an amazing professor. I was not at all interested in the subject matter for Bio182 but he made it interesting and fun to learn. Not only was he a great teacher he gave a lot of extra credit making it easy to get a good grade in his class. As long as you show up and pay attention during lecture it is an easy A.

Funny, cares, capable of explaining something 100 different ways if you cant understand, and provides his slides for students. One thing, just dont text in his class, he will lose it if it happens repeatedly. Its like the only thing you can do to tick him off.

Very informative. Interesting and passionate lectures on all topics. Final can even be skipped if the average of tests is 90% or above. The material is difficult, but he really helps students understand it better with the way he teaches.

He is the reason why I fell in love with biology. He's able to make the lectures easy by relating it to other examples. If you do all of your work and pay attention you're sure to do well in the class. If you average a 90% on all the exams you don't have to take the final.

I absolutely loved this professor. He cares for his student and is extremely passionate about science. He wants you to succeed and will offer several opportunities of extra credit through assignments and tests. Be sure to study for this class! Also, if you get a 90% average on exams, you do not need to take the final! :)

This is one professor who cares about his students. Do the assignments and study and you should get an A or B. He makes bio understand which I thought was impossible. Also respect is huge in the class so respect him and hell respect you!

Dr. S is AMAZING!!! He is so hilarious and will keep you focused in his class with all of his cheesy jokes. He gives so many opportunities for a good grade including extra credit and dropping your lowest scores on assignments and quizzes. Learn smart can be a pain but Dr. S cant control that. I will be taking 182 with him.

Dr. Sthultz was fantastic! If you get the opportunity, take his class! His 4 exams are only worth about 30% of your grade and your lowest test grade gets replaced with your highest at the end of the semester. Sthultz is very passionate about teaching and he is great at it. Attendance is mandatory, but you will gain a lot from his lectures!

I was intimidated at first, but if you go to SI Session, and follow his advice to the best you can(and care about getting a good grade),he is the best teacher to take biologywith,if you want to learn you will actually learn! If you want to pass w/out effort, not your cupoftea, you'd probably get a high C. GO TO SI sessions.<

As long as you show up, do your work, and listen you can pass with an A> There wasn't a lot of work assigned and he drops the lowest grade for almost every assignment category (which REALLY helps). He also gives extra credit to those that miss less than 3 days of class.

Dr. Sthultz is the best professor ever. Bio can be rough, but he makes it so interesting. His lectures are hilarious, and he has so much respect for his students that it's difficult not to have respect for him. Took AP Bio (same content as 181) in high school, but got a 99.9% in this course.

By far my favorite professor I had my first semester at NAU. Bio is a class a lot of students tend to struggle with but he made it so interesting and easy to remember. Do the study guide before tests and you will be very prepared for the test.

Sthultz is awesome!! I loved him as a person even though the class was very hard for me. Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory but he gives a 3% boost for the final grade if you show up to every class. He's very big on respect and cares a lot about what he's doing. Personally I don't like Bio 181 but he made it fun.

He REALLY cares. He adds 3% to your final grade if you show up to all his classes because he understands that not all students test well. His homework is good to reinforce material, and his tests all have provided study guides. You should get an A on the test if you study them. If you have a 90% average on tests, you don't have to take the final!

Dr. Sthultz is awesome! He makes biology 182 interesting. He is funny and very approachable. He drops your lowest exam score, lowest quiz, and lowest homework. He raises your grade 3% if you have good attendance. Also if you average an A on all 4 exams you do not have to take the final. He really tries to make the class enjoyable. Take his class!

Schultz is totally an amazing professor and I would recommend him to anyone. Make sure you show up to class and he'll add on credit at the end, everything is clear in the syllabus and if you do the work you'll get an A

Dr. Sthultz is a must have for at least BIO182. His lectures are easy to follow. The hardest thing about his class are the online reading assignments which are required as part of taking BIO182. He does divert from the textbook for some material and isnt unreasonable with what a student must know for an exam. Put in an effort and youll pass.

He is very passionate about his class and wants you to do well. It is very easy to pass this class just do not use your phone in class.

One of the best professors I've had at NAU. He genuinely cares about every student's success and offers so many "free points" (completion points). Tries to make every topic/lecture interesting. Study for exams and you will do fine. Drops the lowest test score and 2 lowest quizzes. It's harder to get a C in the class than an A or B.

Amazing prof. He really wants his students to LEARN the material rather than get a good test score. DO NOT cheat or use you phone in class, he will really bring down the hammer and one person can ruin it for the whole class, but he Is very understanding. He has good amounts of assignments for points and offers extra credit for attendance and exams.

Dr. S told everyone at the beginning that as long as you do the homework along with showing up and being attentive, the grade will take care of itself. A few Connect assignments, but you can finish those early on if youd like. Tests are based on his practice exams, do those and youre guaranteed to pass! Amazing guy, take him if possible!

Dr. Sthultz is an amazing prof. He lectures in a way that is easy to follow. There is quite a bit of homework but it's easy. He has four midterm exams and you are exempt from the final if you average 90% on those four exams. He drops a bunch of low scores from homework and stuff. If you don't get an A, you're working hard to not get an A. Cool dude

MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR EVER. Seriously it doesn't get better than this. Professor Sthultz (told us to call him Chris) is incredible. So passionate, kind and cares about his students. He drops all of your lowest scores and gives you multiple chances for extra credit. Outside of the work, he is the most genuine and cool guy ever. 100000% recommend.

An incredibly easy class, largely thanks to Sthultz. He's a great teacher, and absorbing and retaining info is a breeze as long as you pay attention and take notes. Overall a fun class with fun material, and he definitely optimizes your experience.

He really cares that you succeed, hes fun, has a little hw, but for the most part he makes the class interesting and fun to sit in there and learn. Dont use phones in his class, and try your very best not to miss a day because he says stuff in class that could be vital to the exams.

I can honestly say if you go to class you will be fine. I went to every class and did an average amount of studying and got an A. He also gives a grade bonus to those with perfect attendance.

Dr. Sthultz was one of the best professors I have had in such a long time. Between his fantastic lecturing and his great leadership of the biology department at the university, he is amazing. His class was not easy, I think it just depends on your learning style but attendance is taken at the beginning of class and he doesn't like phones being out. he'll take off credit if they are. Most of our grade is given if you show up and the quizzes 7/10 can be worked on with the people around you. choose your seat wisely.

With Covid-19 I honestly felt like he gave up a little on us and threw us to the wolves when we went online. Before we went online though, Shultz was an absolutely amazing teacher and made everything so easy.

He is an excellent teacher. Tests are based off of material covered in class. My only complaint is that material covered was a basic understanding, there was no deeper thinking needed. He required that we understood basic concepts and processes. Basically you just need to memorize the material for the exams. He is kind and understanding.

I loved this professor, he has major dad energy and cares a lot about his students. With Covid 19, he was really understanding of everyone's situations, and made sure to give plenty of support where it was needed. He grades easy and puts the importance of learning over a number grade. If you do the assignments and study for tests, you'll get an A.

Bookwork done through bblearn; two reading chapters with questions max per week. He's HILARIOUS and gave us great life advice. He made class fun and easy to follow. Just pay attention and do some studying outside of class. Exam 3 is the hardest so pay attention from the get go.

Professor Sthultz was one of the most amazing professors I have ever had. He is super understanding and is totally willing to work one-on-one with you if you're struggling. He is so funny and makes the material easy to understand. However, if you don't go to class or pay attention, you probably won't pass. SI sessions were extremely helpful too!

I had him for 181 and 182 and he's the best bio professor at NAU! You can tell he enjoys his job and he's so funny. He's good at simplifying hard concepts. He really doesn't like dishonesty so exams are proctored and the lowest is dropped. Quizzes are in groups. You buy a tophat subscription for class. As long as you study, you'll pass with A or B.

Best professor I have ever had, hands down. This class is an easy A but I learned so much. He is so understanding of the fact that this isn't our only class, which most professors seem to forget. Attendance IS mandatory, however, he actually makes the lectures enjoyable (even if bio isn't your favorite subject).

Even though everyone seems to say it, it needs to be said again, Dr S. Is the BEST professor at NAU. The class is not an easy one, but he makes it easy because of the way he teaches and how much he cares about his students (and is so damn funny). Even though it was fully online due to Covid, his was the most engaging class I have ever taken!

Dr S is one of the funniest professor's I've had the pleasure of having. He is the stereotype of a hippy in the best way and you can tell that he's passionate about biology and the success of his students. He makes it easy to earn an A. Truly an enjoyable class with a manageable level of homework. There are clicker questions through TopHat.

BIO 182 is not an easy course, but Dr. Sthultz makes it possible to get an "A" as long as you put time into attending lectures and studying for exams. Fun guy, but makes you work for it.

Dr.S is a fun-guy (he is obsessed with fungi, so be prepared). He is one of the most caring professors I have ever had. The content is not tough, and he makes it very interesting . However, there is a LOT of memorization. Going to lectures are crucial in order to succeed. His tests can be a little tricky, but if you take detailed notes, you're fine

My favorite professor that Ive had this semester. Show up to class take notes and study for the exams and theres like no way you wont get an A. His lectures are amazing and make it easy to learn very complicated information. He also helps run the lab so that it goes along with lecture and is extremely helpful.

Really good prof! I would take his class again. I took it online yet he was so interactive and it always kept my attention.

Such a good professor! It's obvious he loves what hes teaching. Very upbeat and energetic during lecture. But he will catch you if you are cheating! Show up to class! Accepts late work and only takes like 2 points off. Not much homework, just pre lecture activities inside the textbook. You have to take him! He is so sweet and down to earth.

Dr.S is one of the greatest professors I had the opportunity to learn from. He is caring and funny, but gets the job done for learning. If you go to every lecture and study and do all the homework even getting a B-C on every test you will get an A in this class easily. Highly recommend!!

Christopher Sthultz is an incredible professor. His makes lectures fun and interesting, which makes the material easy to learn. If you can take any class with him I'd highly recommend it.

This professor was awesome and one of the best teachers in the class. If you want to succeed on the exams, study his study guides and the jeopardy he gives. Some of the short answer questions will be from there. Really easy if you put in the effort

I'm a junior at NAU and Chris is one of the best profs I have ever had. He makes class fun and the material easy to understand. Light homework (pre-class assignment and sometimes a worksheet due Sunday). Extra credit is built into every exam too. Take him if you can you won't regret it!

Dr. S is incredible. Hands down the best biology teacher I've ever had. His classes were always entertaining and he really made sure you understood the material he was teaching. Great at answering any questions as well. If you are taking BIO 182 you need to take it with Dr. S!

Professor s is a great teacher and really knows how to connect with students, coming to class every day is really important in this class but the lectures are entertaining so its not a boring as many classes are. he is also very easy to talk to if you don't fully understand the material and need additional support.

I had him for both BIO182 and Ecology and I loved him. He does amazing, his criteria is clear, and he cares that you understand the content. He is amazing.

An excellent professor and amazing human being. He knows the balance of being a person and being an educator. He was very understanding for my situation and allowed me extra time when I really needed it. Being family orientated made him one of my favorite professors here.

He is such a cool dude! He made me want to go to class to see his next outfit and hear his jokes. Provides a study guide for exam. Nothing surprising thrown on the exam; goes over everything you need. I suggest taking notes from the slide before class, so you can note everything he says because it's important.

Dr. Sthultz is a great professor! He is super passionate about bio (especially fungi) and his lectures definitely show that. He offers a fair amount of extra credit and lets you skip the final if you average a 90% on the exams, which really isn't too difficult as long as you pay attention and do the homework. I highly recommend taking his class.

Dr. Sthultz was amazing! His lectures were engaging and there are plenty of opportunities to get a good grade even if you are not a good test taker. I was nervous as I had no biology experience and he made this class manageable and fun

Dr. S. is very clearly passionate about what he does, and he clearly cares about his students. The lectures are always upbeat (a little fast-paced but nothing too extreme) and majority of the quizzes are done in a group to promote communal learning! I would 100% take another class with this professor, he made this class a breeze!

This is the third class I have taken with Chris, and there is a reason I keep signing up for his classes. He is the most passionate and caring professor I have ever had at NAU. Everything he does is for the benefit of his students.

Laid-back teaching style as long as you show up to class and don't go on your phone you won't have a problem in this class. There is not a lot of homework assigned just Mcgraw Hill readings and a couple of other assignments. It prepares you enough for the exams so that you do well on them.

He is the best professor I have had at NAU. He makes lectures so interesting and you can tell he knows how to teach very well. If he taught more classes in my major, I would choose him again and again. The tests are a little hard, but the in-class quizzes are super easy if you pay attention to the lectures, and attendance counts for points.

He was always available to help, gave very good feedback. He gave clear helpful lectures, and the homework never felt overwhelming. I liked his space and presence, I always felt very comfortable!

Dr. Stultz is probably the best professor you can take. I've never seen a professor care so much about his students. He also recognizes different ways students apply knowledge and his classes aren't test-heavy. He offers so much extra credit as each test is 105 possible points out of 100 and he will boost your total grade by 3% for good attendance

Professor Sthultz makes biology engaging with his fun teaching style and occasional banjo performances. The class workload is manageable, and unstuck study proved a helpful study tool alongside the textbook.

Dr Sthultz is by far one of my favorite professors. He makes his lectures interesting and he truly cares for his students/the learning community. Exams can be somewhat difficult but fairly easy if you use the provided materials. Plus he curves almost every exam! There are quite a few in class quizzes but most of them are taken in a group.

He is a great teacher who genuinely cares about his students but expects them to put in the effort. His grading is clear, and he drops the lowest exam score, making it easier to succeed. His lectures are straightforward, and if you pay attention and do your part, it's hard to fail. He provides the support needed.

Dr, Sthultz is probably the best professor I have ever had. He deeply cares about his students and their success. He talks about his personal life a bit and personally I enjoy that. There is a good bit of homework but if you do it all you will be fully prepared for the exams (I got As on all of them). Very accessible outside of class. Great guy!

Cares so much and teaches well. I didnt understand lecture one day and got scared so I went to SI with Nikki, a Godsend and dont think I would pass without her. Im telling you I would go to SI and never study but review the day before and pass exams. He wants u to pass trust. Group quiz, easy exams if u know content, drops lowest exam/quiz grades

Dr. Sthultz is one of the best science teachers I've ever had. His lectures are engaging and he's incredibly accommodating. He really cares about his students' feedback and how to make the class better. There was no extra credit offered but if you go to class/SI and do the reading, it's super easy to pass.

Dr. S is a great professor and an amazing person overall. He made the best of what he was given and welcomed student feedback for adjusting the course. There are weekly reading quizzes and problem sets that aren't terrible, and the exams are very similar to the in-class problems. No final, and some exams were done in groups.

Dr. S is very smart, kind, compassionate, and really cares about your learning and well being. I would love to take him again, he is very good at what he does, and he really does care. The lectures move fast and there is a lot of reading, but it is manageable.

Great professor, and very funny. He is super passionate about his field, as well as music. He has allotted story time for like the first 10 minutes of class, so don't panic if you're running late lol. His lectures are funny and accessible. Make sure to do the readings and show up to class (you get 3% extra credit!). Take him if you can :)

Mr. S might be the greatest teacher I've ever had in my entire academic career, he cares so deeply about his students and makes the learning environment fun for everyone. It is sad he won't be teaching BIO182 anymore but I am so lucky to have enrolled in his last semester teaching it. Thank you for everything Mr. S!

BEST PROFESSOR AT NAU!!! Truly an amazing man and professor. He is one of the only professors I've ever had who actually cares about his students. He adds anecdotes into his lectures which is a nice break from the material. In addition to him being amazing, I learned SOOO much in his classes. I got A's in all 4 classes with him.

The ratings speak for themselves. Professor S is the goat. This is my second year with him, and genetics was an amazing experience. Great lecturer, funny guy, and an even better person. He created a really great environment that by showing up and completing a pre-test assignment, you could take group exams (excluding final). Take him if you can!!

Genuinely one of the best and most caring professors I've had in my entire life. Every one of his lectures is interesting, and he's a genuinely real guy. He adds 3% to anyone's final grade who misses 2 or less classes. I also missed my final exam, and he let me take it in another one of his classes later that day.

He goes above and beyond to make sure his students succeed. As long as you attend his lectures and do the assignments you will pass easily.
