Don't take him. He has a PdD and tries to prove it everyday, explaining things with the biggest words he finds in the dictionary that day. I have a 3.7gpa and actually enjoy class, but he makes you want to drop out of school, ridicules students and expects you to know everything the day you walk in. save yourself!
Overall, its a decent class. He knows alot and sometimes goes off on what seems to be a tangent about some music group or other random things, but usually somehow he relates it back to the lecture. Really didn't know what to expect in the beginning, but you get used to it...its not that bad of a class.
He is a very good instructor, he tries to answer all your questions to the best of his ability which is usually good. He knows alot about various topics and will relate them all back to economics. He also tries to involve the whole class in discussion. Overall a good teacher.
This guy hates teaching and he hates students; he needs to find a new job. All he ever does is talk about things he's done to fail students. Like how he taught something wrong all semester because no one in the class noticed it and then failed them all on the exam. This guy is the worst, most arrogant professor I've ever had.
Horrible!!!!!!!
not great, not ok. notes and exams somewhat coencide but pay attention to lectures and go to study sessions.
he's a rude man. very intelligent and knows what he is talking about, but he loves making other people feel stupid ... especially students. Basically, he is right and everyone else is wrong.
I thought that he did a very good job and that the class was somewhat easy. I did not have a problem with him. I thought that his rule "if you play nice with me, then I will play nice with you" was a good rule to follow andthe idea to not show you are scared would be a good way to go.
He is very smart and if ur nice to him he'll be nice to you. Do it his way and the class can be quite enjoyable
ok. not the nicest prof, but intelligent. do your work and should be ok. curves using the final, so grade jumped up a letter grade.
Very good teacher. Involves whole class in discussions. Also relates class to everyday scenarios.
He is full of himself, but he does a great job of relating the material in a way anyone can understand. If he likes you, he will call on you a lot in class.
i loved this class! We got into so many good discussions. He is so funny! i enjoyed spending time in his class and i learned a ton. papers were difficult to do, but they aren't a huge part of the grade. themed tests were interesting. would take him again!
He definitely knows what he's talking about and is able to get his teachings across in an understandable manner. He is very arrogant however, and even states (almost every class) that he has a PhD and therefore, is smarter than you.
Class is very involved in comparison to other Business courses (group work, final exam group presentation, in- class assignments, etc.) Definitely be prepared to work in his class! If not, take someone else, you wont make it far. Themed tests are a little more diffult as well. Overall, good teacher...but, class is a little harder than the norm.
Hard. that's all I can say. If you want an easy A, do not take.
what was he expecting of us, to think? class was hard, not something we could memorize and spit out on exam.
dude, seriously, hard. My brain hurt after every class. Expects way too much work. We had to read and pay attention to lecture. Both of them. Has group projects every week, so don't skip class. Ever. Exams are odd and caused me to fail.
he made my cry after every class and asked me way too many questions in class. class is hard and tests are hard.
Outgoing, and fun, but, doesn't really help too much when it comes to the tests.
Believe me as an IS, I can tell he is a really great professor. His lecture is full of interesting so you can avoid reciding the conceps. He doesn't require a book but WSJ because his lecture is applied. He teches you useful information. If you like studying books, u r not stduying ECON! You will find the benefits of his way teaching in future.
Sorry about the mistake down stairs, the class should be ECON125 but not ECON151
He is very strange at first, but the way he teaches is to actual get you to think and not memorize a book. I dont like that he has some trick questions on his odd themed tests. His personality makes the class time fly by faster. And I totally find his big ego cute, he is funny as hell, I would ask him out on a date...
This is an econ class, not an english class. We shouldn't have to read or write in an econ class. Spelling shouldn't count for anything either.
When I think of Christopher I think of one word.... unprofessional. He is overbearing, and if he doesn't like someone in the class he takes it out on everybody. He is an extremely biased grader, be sure to get on his "good side". I have no respect for him as a human being. He is always on a power trip. Nobody loves Christopher more than himself.
Had to take him and couldn't avoid it. Knows his stuff, but mean. Of course, I had a class full of whiners who ruined it for the rest of us.
I have never learned so much in a class before yeah he is a tough grader but if you put forth the effort to enjoy the material it will end up being a fun class for you. Just be ready to learn a lot, and do a lot outside of class. He is not afraid to fail a person if you don't follow the outline of the class. Gives exact exam questions that's nice!
I don't get it. He gives us the exam questions in advance. He gives us extra credit. He gives us plenty of office hours. How do folks not like this? Yeah, he's hard and yeah, he expects us to work a lot. But, what other prof gives us the questions to the exam a week in advance and lets us select our own question?
None of this, you play nice with me and I'll play nice with you junk. It's play nice together and work out problems. Otherwise, more problems occur.
This guy is hard. I mean that. Hard. God help you if you don't go to class. God help you if you don't do the homework. God help you if you don't do the reading. He expects all of this. And you can't pass unless you do it all.
PLEASE choose a different profession! As a superior human being you should not waste your time on these useless students!
VERY good teacher. A little odd but keeps you interested. Tells a lot of stories. Tells stupid jokes having to deal with music. No book! *you will not fall asleep in this class!*
Interesting fellow. I was disappointed the first day with his huge ego (a whole scene with a student leaving class). He's a neat guy once you get to know him. He spent hours (during his office hours) helping me understand stats. I worked hard, and the class was fine. If you are motivated by brashness and tough talk, you'll probably enjoy his style.
Very odd teaching style, but interesting. Can ramble on, but usually ties to the lecture in an odd way. Would defintely take again and would highly recommend.
If you want to learn alot take him (if your a FIN major you may not have a choice), if you want to whine and expect an easy A this class is not for you especially considering you'll ruin it for the rest of the class. He's hard but then again he isn't your preschool teacher. And god help you if you miss class or leave early.
You definatley have to attend class and pay attension. Harsh grader but fair. Definatley not a blow off class. He is kinda hard to understand because he talks really fast but if you ask questions he will answer them. Odd teaching style, but overall not a bad class.
Speaks english. That's all I need to say.
GREAT PROFESSOR, LADIES HES HOT!!!
The first part of class was easy, but the second part was hard. Don't ask him to write on the board, you won't be able to read it. He did give me hours of extra help to figure out what was going on. Teaching stats in a computer lab made things much easier, though. Overall, ok, but do the reading and ask questions. And don't miss class.
Where does this guy come up with these thoughts? Seriously, he says some of the most out there things. Just tell me what I need to know on the exam and let me go. I don't care about lemons.
One of the most entertaining professors I have had at SVSU. I have been there long enough now and I am really disappointed I did not have Dr. Surfield more. He is a great guy and very enjoyable in class. He writes his own exams and they are themed. This semester we had The Dark Knight and The Drew Carey Show. Awesome Prof.
He's very eccentric, but he teaches the subject very well. He wants you to succeed, and drills the material into your head
good prof. Very energetic and teaches the material well. Best prof. ive had at the school. All you other ladies out there, hes single and a looker;)
Has an odd way of teaching, asks a lot of questions, but is ok. Try to at least respond and he'll move on. don't skip and don't give a fake answer.
My favorite teacher of all time.I find myself feeling ripped off when I get teachers who are not up to his expertise. Very hard classes and I was very scared when I was late (1 time and I would never do it again) or if he caught me not following along, but its college and that's the type of teacher a true college student deserves.Very funny! Mike W
This guy expect way to much out of us. A paper, takehome exams, and to attend class are all part of this course. Seriously, too much for a two credit course. And watch what happens when you don't pay attention and check facebook during class.
I am sorry but I do not need to hear his crazy stories about shopping or his love for the backstreet boys. He is always way off the topic... never makes any sense. He tries to embarrass students in front of the whole class. STAY AWAY! His life might make a good sitcom, but it doesn't help him teach economics.
He is a GREAT teacher. He makes examples relatable to real life situations. Keeps students interested in class so you shouldn?t sleep. While he maybe eccentric at times he is very funny and comes up with great test themes.
It's clear this guy knows his stuff and, if you go to him, will help you. He doesn't suffer fools well, and he let's you know that quickly.
He's not as bad as I heard, although he can be arrogant. Has a nice curve, don't really need the book, does do videos for you which are helpful. Uses real data for exams and I actually think I learned something in this course.
Attendance was optional. Only needed to go to class if you needed help; which I did not. Was straight out of book. Did assignments and turned in via e-mail. Tests were timed and on-line. Overall easy class. Heard he is very arrogant and condesending; did not see it myself, but was only in class for two sessions.
He is like Sheldon from the Big Theory. He is not very helpful. He doesn't explain how he wants answers worded. I tried to take this class, but dropped half way through. He grades very tough and he does not teach from the book.
Goes off-topic often. Seems to know what he is talking about, yet at times doesn't explain it clearly. Somewhat helpful but he's sometimes not at his office hours, making it difficult to contact him.
Mr. Surfield has a very strange way of teaching but i personally find it very very funny. He will pick on you from time to time but its only to make you pay more attention. DO NOT SHOW UP LATE or you will be made an example of and dont text during his class and get caught. Go to class and review your notes once in a while and you will be fine
Never take a 8am class with this guy, he actually starts it at 8am. He has no compassion for anyone coming late to his class and 8am on Monday is just ferreal hard.
DO NOT TAKE!! If you are signed up for him, drop it. This is not joke. He harrasses students, tests are insane, does not care about students, is very ignorant, he will fail you and make your life miserable. He is the chair of the department and does not care. He grades on how well he likes. I am serious, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!! You will regret it.
DO NOT TAKE if your a normal minded student. He teaches you like your IQ is more then Einsteins. He harasses students and if you challenge him to an argument, he will make you look stupid in front of the entire class. He teaches really fast, and is not helpful to anyone. VERY RUDE. Id rather suggest jumping off a cliff then taking him!
DROP THIS GUY!!! HE DOESNT DO THE BONUS FOR JUST GOING TO CLASS. He stopped it. You now have to do work. I was told that just going to class was enough. He doesn't tell me how to answer his questions or how to write my paper. I pay him to do that, why doesn't he get it?
CANNOT BELIEVE HE IS CHAIR OF THE DEPARTMENT, or teacher for that matter. He is ARROGANT and cruel to his students. A perfect example of how NOT to teach. ONLY cares for his illusive ego. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Though Dr. Surfield may not have been an easy professor, and he did actually make you think and do work, his class was fairly interesting. His stories weren't always on topic, but they were entertaining at 8:30 AM. I felt as though I learned a lot about economics, and I actually remember it unlike other classes.
Only an idiot could fail this class. You just go through the book, send in the assignments by the due date, and you don't even have to go to class. Seriously, how can you fail this course? Easy A. Kinda useless.
Ok, this isn't a blowoff class. He's pretty sharp and expects students to do work. Doesn't tolerate late work or late attendance, so keep that in mind.
I loved the class! It was easy and he made it interesting and compared everyting to real life. If your not lazy, you'll do just fine in this class!
Clearly doesn't care whether his students pass or not in his class. Take him if you want to waste your money and hate your life during his lectures.
really fun teacher, but can be a butt hole at times.. attendance is required and his tests and quizzes are themed
You know, I can see why some students fear this guy. He doesn't let you slack, he won't take crap, and if you screw off, he will nail you on it. But if you put in some work and get the job done, he's pretty funny and exams are definitely something to look forward to. Ok, maybe not, but their funny. Hard, but funny
Dr. Surfield is the worst teacher I have ever had. He picked on us the entire semester and did not care whether we learned or not. Worst class ever. Extremely disappointed and wasted my money with this class. Do not waste your time with him or any of his classes.
Even though I didn't get an A in the course, I still felt I earned the grade. He doesn't tolerate slugs and doesn't give them anything they don't deserve. All in all, I learned something and that's why I pay tuition.
heard all the rumors and still had to take him. funny thing, he's actually pretty good. the class was a blend of pop culture and economics. themed exams are interesting. highly recommend!
Even though at this moment I am not doing too well in this class, I still like Dr.Surfield. Hes funny and although he can be a bit rude and harsh at times, he puts economic information in situations that I can understand
I called him Mr Surfield and he just stared at me like I was talking to the wind. I don't care what I'm supposed to call him, I just want my C. Why won't he just give me my grade?
He isn't that bad, he expects you to come to class and do your work and even gives on week make-up on at home assignments for half credit, at least its some points and if you do ALL the homework he GIVES you 6% on your final grade, for each missing assignment up to 3, he takes off 2% of the bonus. He does talk fast, but will clarify
I hated econ until I had Surfield. He used real life examples you could understand and gave funny themed quizzes and tests. He grades a little harsh with too many points weighing on tests, so if you're not good with test taking, I would avoid him. His sarcasm kept me interested, he's pretty funny.
He was honestly the most helpful professor I had, but if you don't have the aptitude, or just think it is a blow off class, don't even bother coming. Dr. Surfield was extremely inspirational to me. Fair warning, though, take his tests seriously and don't slack off, especially in the beginning.
Never follow the conventional course.
Take it!!! if you just want to have some fun. But if you want to get knowledge, uh...in your dreams :)
Surfield grades hard and much of the grade was from the really hard exams. But, all in all, he was pretty desent. We got a bonus if we did the work, even if it was late, and he gives us the questions to the exam in advance. Can be harsh, but at least he's flat out honest with you.
The work is pretty easy, but he is a jerk. Don't participate in class or you will get picked on the rest of the semester.
For those of you that want a good grade and want to learn something, take this course. Dr Surfield has his own way of teaching, some find him a bit abrasive. Others think he may be a jerk. Bottom line, he gets your brain to work if you listen. By no means will this be an easy course, do the work he outlines and you will do well.
The lecture is very fast paced and hard to keep up with if you aren't paying close attention. His exams are based off the online quizzes that he gives, so if you know the answer to those, you are set for the exam.
Very interesting to listen to. Doesn't use the book much, however, professor is very knowledgeable about economics. Take lots of notes and pay attention to what he is looking for in papers and you will do fine.
Dr. Surfield was by far the best professor I've ever had, and would recommend him to anyone and everyone. He makes learning about economics fun and interesting. I laughed more in his class than I would all day. All that's left to say, is he is FANTASTIC!!!!
WORST TEACHER EVER! He cared more about quoting pop songs than he did teaching us. He bragged about his job and title and how much he makes for the majority of the class, then crammed in what we would learn. Didn't stop to ask if we had questions, and when asked to explain, he picked on that person and made them feel stupid. Want to fail? Take him!
He is the worst professor I have ever had, he is rude, and makes you feel like the littlest person ever...all he talks about is himself and music, he goes off topic all the time, couldn't stay focused in class whatsoever! Do not TAKE!!! I have never failed a course before, and he was my first!! :(
Surfield is a super strange guy. He loves himself but hates the students. He spends most of the class either whining or bragging but never gets around to actually teaching. Avoid him at all costs.
MIXED EMOTIONS ON THIS GUY. IF YOU CAN GET PAST HIS "SNARKYNESS" AND "SURFIELDISM'S" HE'S NOT HALF BAD. COME PREPARED FOR CLASS AND ASK EDUCATED QUESTIONS AND YOU'LL BE FINE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME EMAILING HIM THOUGH, HE WON'T REPLY. COULD BE WORSE, DON'T TAKE IF YOU WANT TO BE A SLACKER AND SIT IN THE BACK AND HIDE. 50/50, I'VE HAD WORSE.
Surfield is an odd guy. At the beginning of the semester, I really didn't like him, but towards the end he became more tolerable. He talks very fast, and his in-class examples are hard to follow sometimes. 3 tests and 1 paper make up most of the grade. The material isn't easy, but it's not incredibly difficult either, but he is a tough grader.
First off any negative reply here I would assume are people that did not do so well in his class or did not want to work. Professor Surfield is not like any other prof you will have, which makes his classes more interesting. He is probably one of the best professors I have ever had. I have gone to CMU, SVSU and UofM.
The material is hard and his standards are pretty high. If you're looking to hide in back, this isn't the class for you. Examples are odd and can seem a bit off topic, but he'll get to the point in his own way. 2 exams and a paper are all the points you can earn, so be prepared for that.
He's not for everyone, that's for sure.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Highly recommended. His lectures are enjoyable and he knows his stuff.
His Lectures are fun and keep me awake during class but STUDY!use the book to complement his lectures. I would not recommend skipping a class. If you study a lot and attend class you'll do fine.
Dr. Surfield really cares about his students and strives to help each individual understand the material.
I still have nightmares about this class and I dropped it after the first exam. That's all I'm going to say.
Hard class, do doubt about that. Need to have a good understanding of lecture notes and is not helpful if you ask him for help. Never used the book, and if you boomed one thing, there goes you grade (only have 2 exams, a paper, and final) FIND ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!
He is the worst professor I have ever taken. The class is so hard and he doesn't teach a thing. He talked about songs lyrics all the time. He is rude and very unhelpful. Exams are hard and he is not respectful to students. He has a really high ego and do not see anyone else as humans.
This class was hard and this guy has expectations that are way too high. Two exams and a paper and that's it. Yes, it's just a two credit course and there shouldn't be that much work, but we should have more bonus points or extra credit or something. It's just a two credit hour course.
The worst professor ever
Very confusing, hard exams and rude.
Not sure what to say about this guy. Hated him from the first day of class. A lot of students dropped the course, but he got better over time. Learned alot, but brutal process.
Pretty cool professor. He’s a boss at what he does. The class is simply just an intelligent conversations with some jokes here or there, a few exams and a paper. Very helpful during office hours and will answer questions in class.
He's a great professor. He will call on people randomly so you must pay attention but if you pay attention to his lectures and show up to every class then the exam's are no problem. He's very entertaining in his lectures and relates all his lectures to real life examples. I would take him again forsure.
If you've ever wanted a reason to hate life, this class will give it to you.
He's Surfield!Hardest class i have ever taken, attendance is mandatory to pass, MUST PAY ATTENTION DURING CLASS!Even though he is a Crazy genius,(ALSO MENTALLY CRAZY I would take him again. By far best teacher because he teaches concepts not definitions. He only acts tuff, really he is a big softy. Can not wait to take again, makes economics fun.
Well, words of advice? don't take him next semester, the "always right" Surfield's cherished and loved bond that he has had forever is about to mature. You may be thinking this has nothing to do with him teaching.... you'll learn ... Youll hide, you will run. I would rather have to ride in a plane with this guy than take his class again.
He is an outstanding professor. Get to know his pet peeves and you will be fine. Don't expect to hide in the back of the class though... He is way smarter than what anyone thinks. Mention nsync or backstreet boys and the world will make sense again.
We have two exams and a final. Screw up on one of those and you're pretty much done for the semester. I'm not sure I'd want my worst enemy in this class. He is very picky in his words and his grading. I wonder if I took this class because I secretly have a death wish.
This was supposed to be an easy A, but nooooooooooo. My head hurt every day after leaving this class. And don't think about getting out early. Three hours class and he still ran over the time.
There's hard and then there's this class. Stats is forreal hard, and this prof doesn't make it any easier. I wanted to cry after every class.
They say dreadful is but a word, the reality is far, far worse. That's this course.
Surfield has a bit of a bad reputation but he's not that bad. He really knows his stuff and explains things really well, you just need to be paying attention. He's a little quirky, but generally entertaining to listen to. As long as you know the right way to word answers on tests (which he tells you multiple times), you should be fine.
Surfield is a big teddy bear. If you go by his office and ask, he'll usually work something out with you. Pay attention to his lectures and you know what'll be on his tests.
No. Just no. He expects too much for a two credit class. Doesn't he understand that stats is supposed to be a blow off class? We paid for a grade, not to have to do work.
I actually learned a lot from this class, but he is a super annoying teacher who gets off topic very easily. Not a hard class at all and you only use your book for the three homework assignments. FYI, he told my class that he gives himself bad ratings on here so people don't take his classes. LOL.
After I took his class, I went right up to Dr. Surfield and told him how thankful I was for him being as knowledgeable as he is about statistics. I also told him I was very thankful that he kept the class as exciting as he did; because he truly did. I would take Dr. Surfield any day over a professor who doesn't engage the class.
I sincerely enjoyed Dr. Surfield's class. He is quirky and entertaining, and hilarity ensured when he called on a student for questions. Unfortunately, his class is very difficult, so don't expect an easy A. We had two homework assignments, a few quizzes, and two large tests. The entire grade rests on your score on these tests and they are hard.
This professor is not for the average SVSU student. He's picky. His standards are high. He expects students to be on his level. But I learned a lot in this class. I can see why the average SVSU student would avoid this guy at all costs.
I like Surfield. He's funny and once you get past the tough exterior, you can see he really cares.
Tough grader, must go to class or won't pass. He doesn't give any extra credit and when you ask he ducts your grade one letter.
I learned a lot in this class! I went into the class knowing it was going to be hard.
He's hilarious and he really does care but isn't for everyone. Pay attention, take notes of everything he says and writes. make friends in class for help or Cody in tutoring center. GO TO CLASS. and answer questions. definitely learn a lot . read his syllabus thoroughly to answer questions before asking. homework is a blessing, not a curse.
Stats with Surfield. This is a two credit course. It should be the easiest class given it's a two credit course. I've worked harder in this class than a four credit course. Why can't I just get my blow off credit for a two credit course? Homeworks are online. Too much work for what they're worth for your grade. Two exams. It's a two credit course.
Professor Surfield is funny and tells a lot of stories, but most of his stories correlate with what he's teaching. I really liked him, but he's not for everyone. He's goofy, but really knows economics. There is a lot to learn in this class, a few quizzes and inclass assignments, and 3 exams, so you really need to study for the grade you want.
Dr. Surfield is a character! He may come off different but he actually cares. His lecture are the test and quizzes.... So don't miss a class! Three test and a few quizzes! Again surfield is a great professor!!!!
At the beginning of the semester Dr. Surfield wasn't somebody I enjoyed as a professor. After the first two lectures he began to grow on me. A lot of his stories eventually tied up to the class, and it lightened the mood to help get through 3 hours of lecture. He's a great professor that knows what he is doing. Also he reads these which is funny.
On the first day he comes off as really strict, but he lightens up after that. If you attend class and take notes you should do fine. He makes a difficult subject seem simple. His exams cover exactly what he does in class. Be sure to do all of the homework problems.
Funny professor. I really enjoyed my time with him. He also has a super hot overhead squat.
If you want a class that doesn't require an enormous amount of effort, take this professor. The quality of his lecture is poor. Unfortunately I have not learned a thing in this class because he tends to waste 3/4 of the class period going on rants. Every time. Entertaining as they may be you're paying for education and I believe he failed on that.
Surfield most definitely isn't for everyone... you must have a good sense of humor for sure. Surfield makes a four hour, late night lecture FLY BY. One of the best professors I have ever had. Very intimidating on the first few days of class but he will grow on you. Surfield KNOWS what he's talking about, so listen closely.
Dr. Surfield was a great professor. He is very strict about phones but it was not a problem because his lectures were engaging. He was always prepared and energetic for every class and kept economics interesting. There was three tests, one paper, and few quizzes. The tests were based of of his notes and the essay questions were given before hand.
Getting an A in this course is easier than taking candy from a baby. He didn't even have any exams or homework. Literally. Everyone got an A.
Surfield is the type of professor to lecture on main topics for 4 weeks and then come exam time, the exam has none of the lectured topics covered in class. We were even able to have a 3X5 notecard with whatever we wanted on it and it still didn't help. We concentrated on excel the entire time and then the exam was way off topic from what we did.
I'm not sure how anyone can fail this course. All you have to do is some online homework that you can google the answers to and take a quiz. That's all of your grade. Easiest class ever. Easy A. If you can't pass this course, you probably can't feed yourself.
Surfield is definitely not the professor for everyone but I found his class to be engaging. The lectures can sometimes drag on, but he is hilarious and explains every concept perfectly. Only teaches what you need to know for the exams, making them not too difficult. He does not put up with people who show a lack of effort, which I appreciated.
I had Surfield for a 6-10 we always got out around 9-9:30. He uses the Socratic method of teaching so be ready to answer if he picks on you. He is very energetic and entertaining. All of his tests are themed, I had a test based off of the economy of Star Wars written the way Yoda speaks. He expects high quality work and this class is a challenge.
Surfield is . . . quirky. He's definitely not for everyone. He has an odd way of getting to his point, but he gets there. I sometimes wondered where the stories were going, but they typically were real life ways of applying statistics. You do have to follow him closely. And you can't be afraid to get called on.
He thinks he can control people through threats. The first week is a series of threats. Then he proceeds with a cursory treatment of the book material. Just show up and answer his dumb questions and you'll get an A. It's some psychological game with him. Not a learning experience.
To say this guy is hard is an understatement. He's incredibly picky on the way you answer his questions. I would rather have Satan teach me than this guy. I'm just here to get my degree not to deal with stats.
Run! Two students got up and walked out of class within 30 minutes of the first day. I should have been the third. Utterly mean and utterly evil. Run! You have been warned.
The WORST Prof. i have ever had at SVSU. He is very picky, so he will ask you in the middle of the class and you should answer! His exams comes from the book which he doesn't use it AT ALL. I relay on studying for the exams because he never delivers a piece of information to me in this class. my advice, DON'T TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM!
He takes pride in his bad reviews on here but I don't have a bad thing to say about him, and respect him too much to add to the negative reviews. He is PASSIONATE about econ, he makes the boring subject fun. He puts on an educational show. If you just agree with what he says, you're golden. Don't skip class, all the material is in class examples.
Won't lie this guy is intense. But I learned things. My Excel and stats skills did pick up. He doesn't deal well with cell phones, so keep that in mind. "Full Stop" is his favorite phrase.
This man was the most brilliant person I've ever been exposed to. When I was wrong he made sure to tell me. He later explained it was done in the classical sense which means "to make humble." Truly an amazing prof. Although his personal stories about his dad felt forced upon us. But hey, we all have our personal foibles, right? Right???
