I'm sure Prof Ake is a nice teacher, but as a lecturer she is lacking. She spends a great deal of class talking about her personal life and answering questions that don't add anything to the lecture. Class is very slow paced. Take someone else.

Lectures are a bit boring, found myself sleeping more and more during the second half of the semester...shes a fair grader, and the tests arent terribly hard if u expose yourself to the material

she's so cool!! she's not your typical teacher! she's fun and she dresses hot! her tests are multiple choice/guess with a very small part essay. she does cool projects and always asks how you are doing! one of the best teachers i've had!

Professor Ake is a sincere and EXCELLENT teacher. Her lectures are extremely interesting and she is ALWAYS available to help out. To be honest, I started out not wanting to take Psychology at all... being that it was G.E. requirement. That instantly changed after the first two classdays. Take her!!!

this was a great class, i learned alot and she taught in a fun way, with stories and personal experiences. she was really nice and helpful. take this class, you wont regeret it. . . also she gives the notes on black board and the test is straight off the notes . .

She is one of the funnest teachers ive ever had. Her tests are extremely hard though. The questions on them are really vague. Overall, i recommend to take her. You will learn alot and have fun.

Very engaging and straight forward professor. Works in the field and shares about it. Powerpoint notes and 2 small papers required. Very committed to her students. Definitely a must if you're taking this class.

I think she's one of the most interesting teachers on the psych department. She keeps everything interesting. I recommend taking her because she brings in outside people to talk in front of the class. You will never get bored.

She lectures well on the subject of psychology - told a lot of here personal experiences relevant to the course. At the end, she kind of turned lazy, but overall I felt I had learned a lot. Only 3 tests and a paper due during the summer. I would take her again, for another class.

She is very talkative and lively, but she brings her point across well. If u need more help just visit her office hours and she will be more than generous on her grading scale. Pay attention to the key points she gives for the tests and u will pass no problem.

I LOVE this teacher. She makes the subject clear and knows her stuff front and back. Tells us about her own experiences as a psychologist which makes her class even more interesting. She tells you what to study so there wont be any suprises on the tests. Notes are online. may give sum easy in-class/hmwrk every once in a while...TAKE HER!!

I expected a terrible grade because I rarely went to class and received mediocre test scores. I was shocked to see she gave me a B+. Definitely not suggesting you do the same, but she's definitely an easy grader. Tests are hardddd.. there's no way you can wing them so you've got to study. She's pretty entertaining, though, so definitely take her.

Professor Ake is awesome. I reccommend taking her for psych 101. You do not need the book. As long as you show up and take notes, no book needed. The tests are fair, but if you study, you'll do fine. Her personality makes the class. She is funny and tells interesting stories relating to lecture. she hides nothing from you. She is cute too.

Professor Ake was great. Her class was always enjoyable and she really cares about her students. Her exams are EXTREMELY difficult and there was hardly any classwork. Attendance was somewhat mandatory, depending on how many people showed up to class that day. I strongly advice showing up because most of her exams are from lectures.

Great Professor! One of the few professors that actually is interested in how her students are doing in their personal lives. Animated style and makes the class fun, has many fun stories. Definitely recommend!

Psy 101 w/ Prof. Ake was bomb!i spend every day learning about new things and the stories that she tells w/ druggies and other clients She is so nice and she lets you use your laptop! (just dont mess around, because she goes her notes fast!)I really dislike the test, really hard! well for me it was! read the text nd review notes, you will pass!

I loved prof Ake. Her lectures were extremely interesting and I would actually enjoy going to class. Make sure to take notes, because most of her questions are taken right from her notes and lectures. If you come to class and take notes, you won't need the book.

i loved this prof! she is very funny and really cares about her students. their was a total of 3 exams. two paper assignments-that were pretty basic. she gives extra credit. she has a lot of experience in this field so she gives examples of disorders. tells a lot of stories, that relate to the topic. reccomend taking her, really fun and great prof

she was a wonderful professor. she has an amazing sense of humor and uses many personal experiences to further demonstrate the concepts of lecture. there are in class assignments and several papers, but they are all easy. the tests are difficult, so study hard! despite them, though, this class was the best class ive ever taken in psychology.

This class is amazing. It will blow your mind! She is excellent. She tells stories, her classes are always interesting, you'll learn a ton, PP on BB... but her tests are HARD! It's all multiple choice but it is really hard. Make sure to be able to recognize examples, study study study! some questions show up again on final. Some come only from book

I LOVEEEED this proffesor and class. I didnt really talk to her or anything cuz there was always a huge line after class but she makes class really fun and interesting. Although she doesnt take attendence its pretty important to go because there are pop quizzes and random hw assignments. diffucult but worth taking

Incredible teacher !! Because of her Im changing my major to Pysch. Her lectures were fun and interesting and the time flew in her class. The tests were very hard and you do have to study for them. Learning from her has been a joy. I would love to take more classes with her.You must take one of her classes.AWESOME PROFESSOR !!!!

I'm currently taking Online College Course's through Everest University Online in Brandon, FL. I absolutely love My General Psychology Class and my professor was super nice. She alway's said in her announcements if anyone had question's or concerns to contact her via email or the facility office. I rate this class a 100% !

Christy Ake is a really hard professor. Class is mandatory!!! You have pop quizzes, in class assignments, and homework. The study guide she gives you for exams are irrelevant. Her exams are specific and she goes into deep detail. She expects you to know too much. If you take her GOOD LUCK. You're going to have a hard semester.

This class what so interesting. Professor Ake gives crystal clear lectures, she ties in info from her private practice. Strong recommend if you're going to take Abnormal Psyc. The guest speakers are really interesting to listen too. Billy was a great guest speaker. I wish this class was longer than 50 mins. 3 Tests, 2 Written assignments.

Literally the most interesting class I have taken at CSUF and Prof Ake is AMAZING. Class is engaging and its hard not to pay attention. Cool guest speakers & interesting projects. Tests definitely require studying but arent too tough. Overall class isnt an easy A but with a little studying it can be. Im a night-before study-er and got a B. Take it!

Professor Ake really made this class interesting! Her class is tough but if you are majoring in Psychology, you will enjoy the class. She requires two papers and assigns homework about once a week but they are easy assignments and do not take long. Show up to class because her exams are similar to lecture and also make sure you do your reading.

Her study guides and super duper helpful! I usually study it the night before and I get my B's on tests. Her lectures are based on her PowerPoints, which she provides for us. Little HW, three tests, no midterm, 1 paper (super easy A),1 quiz (not pop), and 1 final. P.S. She has a banging body for her age and I wish I asked what her secret was!

It was a class that I really looked forwards to. Her lectures really have you reflect on your own self. She makes it a very comfortable class to be in.

Definitely recommend Professor Ake, but not an easy A. Grades are based on a couple of papers but mainly the three tests. I bought an old textbook and made myself study guides. With that being said, she is very passionate about psychology and her class is very interesting!

Professor Ake was the best!!! Her lectures were never boring and all done by power points. Only three exams out of the whole semester. She does give homework but nothing difficult and extra credit! Loved the class she had my full attention each time she lectured! If I had the chance I would take this class over again!

This wasn't the easiest online class that I've ever taken but certainly interesting. Professor Ake was helpful during office hours and her TA's was a great help too. You have to read the text and she has quite a few assignments as well. Online classes are always harder it seems. However, Prof Ake teaches a good class.

Dudes and dudettes, take this class! It's hard to find an online class where you retain the material after you are done. This class is unique in that sense. She is also engaging with online discussions and makes sure every student gets a response. I appreciate psychology and it's not my major. Loved Ake :)

Great class and a great professor. You have to earn your grade so be prepared to put some study time in the class, but its interesting so that helps. Professor is always willing to help you. GO TO OFFICE HOURS, she will help you out big time and is just a good person to talk to about anything. Take her class and you wont regret it!

Loved Prof Ake, took this class Thursday night and she made the lectures very interesting. If I took this class as a freshman I might of majored in Psychology. I even want her as my therapist, amazing person.

She's fantastic. I took her for psych 101, I loved going every week. Hardly assigns homework or papers, so do the few assignments there are and really listen to her lectures and you'll do just fine. She was interesting, told great stories, and told you everything you need to know on the test. I'm taking more of her classes in the future.

This class was very interesting and the professor told so many interesting stories but her tests were extremely hard for me. I studied for days and they were always difficult for me so prepare to study hard for the tests. While she was a good professor, I would not recommend this class to non psychology majors like myself.

Ake was a great option for a 101 because she has so much experience in the field and great stories. She really is a fabulous professor and seems to genuinely care about the students. Best thing to do is to study really hard from the book for the tests. There are pop quizzes but she usually warns you a bit ahead of time, printing her lectures helps

Christy is really nice and approachable. She definitely made this class challenging for me. She gives easy homework every week or every other week. You have to do 2 "big" paper assignments. I believe there was a total of 4 or 5 pop quizzes the whole semester and the exams are challenging. You need to buy the book, read powerpoints &you'll pass.

Amazing professor! I would recommend either bringing a laptop to class or printing out the lecture notes prior to class because she moves FAST and it's difficult to keep up when handwriting. As long as you study (and I mean study) the notes AND the text book, the tests are pretty straightforward. Papers and and research assignments were easy A's.

Christy is a good teacher. Lectures/powerpoint contained a lot of info but everything you need to know is in the book, so read because test material is based heavily on it. There is a paper, some fairly easy homework assignments, and a few quizzes so you may want to show up to class. Material is interesting enough so you will want to learn!

Exams are straightforward from lecture and powerpoint slides. It is a very passable class. She is a wonderful professor and really cares about her student success. 3 Exam's, offers Extra credit and 1 mini research paper.

Professor Ake was a joy, although I was expecting another professor, I got her instead and she was great! Her lectures consisted of power points, which are easy to follow % you can print them to be able to write side notes on them. There are a couple papers, but are! Her tests are extremely difficult, but if you go to class, you'll get a good grade

I enjoyed her class so much! She engages the class and makes material more fun. Her class wasn't the easiest as her exams were tough even though all M/C. You must read the book to do well on exams on not rely only on PPT slides. HW is easy, but you must be present in class to get the info from her. The paper was easy and she gives you 2 attempts.
