This English class is what i've been waiting for my entire life. It was an 8 week night course that truly changed my opinion on myself and what i am actually capable of. I learned more in 8 weeks than i have my entire career at community college. I really appreciated her strict teaching method. she demanded a lot and gave back a lot in return.

This was a team taught Honors English 101 class. Christy was really amazing. She is very helpful and easy to talk to. She is wants you to learn as much as possible and be the best possible writer that you can be. I would take another class by her!

She is an excellent teacher! She kept me intrested as I learned. All class assignments were explained clearly. I started the class knowing nothing about writing essays or critical thinking. I am now confident in both areas .I learned alot about reseaeching and citing sources. I would definitely take another one of her classes.

I really appreciate everything I learned in Professor Ball's class. Besides learning how to write a solid college paper, I also gained more awareness of the world around me. She's can be tough, but absolutely worth the work.

She is a nice techer but very demanding. I dislike that you have to type EVERY homework assignment.You can not make up any work. once she dislikes you for doing something wrong she make it hell for you the whole semester.

Words can not express how thankful and appreciative I am towards her generosity and willingness to help. Professor Ball is such a great person and instructor, she might be strict, but she does care about the students. She maintain constant communication (personally and via email) with her students and is always willing to help us either during class time or office hours if we are having issues with our assignments or due date time.

I thought her choices for the curriculum provided an excellent opportunity to explore many different types of literature. And her feedback was always honest and helpful. I have taken Prof. Ball for Eng. 48, 101 and 208 and she’s a great professor. Her class can be tough, but it’s totally worth it. The readings are interesting and very thought provoking and I enjoy how passionate she is about each assignment. She is very caring, willing to help and challenges her students to become better writers.

This professor provides thought provoking material, great insight and historical context to literary pieces. She is very personable and someone who I believe has a natural affinity with her students. There is a considerable amount of work, not too complicated, but lots of writing. She gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit.

Take Professor Ball! She's down to earth, helpful, and always respectful (I saw what someone else posted and that's BS. I'M IN THIS CLASS AND SHE'S NEVER RUDE). Seriously one of the best teachers I've had, counting Mesa and Grossmont. If you love to learn and explore or want to write better, take her.

overall I really enjoy her class. She was exited to teach the subject and every time I had question she answer them as best as she could. I loved the book that we read. So much fun. It was hard but really fun.

Professor Ball was extremely helpful but to get the best help you would have to go to her office hours. She is extremely honest (which people tend to portray as sass or being rude) and is down to earth and understanding.

Take Her! I took this class Spring 2013 and I am so glad I did. If it weren't for her I would be so lost in English 205. She literally teaches everything you need to know plus more for 205. You will definitely be prepared for 205 if you take her and class will be a breeze. I honestly would have failed 205 if it weren't for Prof Ball.

I enjoyed the fact that she let us think for ourselves and left a lot of room for self-interpretation. I appreciated how she was open to new ideas and explored nitty-gritty details and controversies that many teachers shy away from. I loved the diversity of culture and society in the class. Very fun and intellectually stimulating course!

Professor Ball was a great teacher. She was helpful to me as an older student because she didn't assume I knew how to take College notes or how to use the proper MLA essay forms. The course study is on Dystopian fiction, mixed media study. I'm loving the course and Professor Ball is an engaging teacher who encourages the students to work together.

Mrs. Christy is the best & an absolute delight. A true passionate for teaching, she really loves to get her students involved and engaged during class. You have to do the work, for the work you put in is the output of your grade. I never liked English but she was able to open my mind to many things and become a better writer. Highly recommended!

I love her as a teacher. She takes her time to make sure you understand what it is exactly that she wants. We had to buy two books and one of them was VERY helpful. I took this class at night for 3 hours but the time would go by fast. I highly recommend her!!

One of my favorite teachers! She really sets the bar high in terms of what a college professor should be. She is extremely passionate and genuinely wants you to succeed. The class isn't easy but as long as you show up and do the work, she'll pass you. I've always been fearful of writing and she is responsible for making me a decent writer!

I enjoyed Professor Ball's class so much. It was her first time teaching Eng205 through a feminist and intersectional lens, and I honestly hope that she keeps teaching it that way. We were required to do many assignments that challenged our way of thinking. This class was inspirational and gave me a new way of seeing/experiencing the world.

Her class was basically based on feminism throughout the semester. She can be really funny & understanding. It was a lot of work and readings, just dont procrastinate. She is very nice as well, she makes her class very interesting and engaging when it came to discussions. No tests or quizzes, just a few projects. If youre not a slacker, take her.

Professor Ball is awesome! She covers necessary learning material while making the course fun and interesting at the same time. She also relates a lot of the class projects to actual events going on in the world (in the present time). You can really tell she genuinely cares about the future of her students. Take her class!!!

If I could do it all over again I totally would. The class discussions and work we did held a lot of real substance. I highly recommend taking this class. Its a critical thinking class and thats exactly what we did all semester. I got a lot out of this class, shes a phenomenal, proactive professor who truly wants you to succeed. Take it!

Ms. Ball has a passion for teaching and inspiring others. She requires you to work hard, but it helps improve your critical thinking skills, especially when writing essays. One of my favorite activities was making a commercial/video for the Bloc Party. Ms. Ball is always available when you need help or have any questions on class assignments.

Mrs. Ball is an excellent professor. She takes her job very seriously, but lets you take liberties with your writing style. There's no room for grammatical errors and you must have properly structure papers, but the material is up for your interpretation. In this class we used a graphic novel-styled textbook - super easy to read. Highly recommend.

I'd have to say Prof. Ball is at the top of my list of best professors in college. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subjects she teaches. As for the course load, if you do your work on time the class is a breeze. If you don't well, you'll have a hard time catching up. Otherwise the class is interactive, fun, and worth it!

This class was great. If you do the assigned work you will get an A. Mostly journal assignments and then an individual project and a group based project.

Christy is passionate about what she teaches and makes sure each student leaves the classroom with tools to make positive change in the world. Professor Ball is fantastic! She's energetic and passionate! She gives well thought out lectures and encourages critical thinking . You must go to class or you will miss neccessary group work and discussions. It is easy if you do all that is required of you! You will have fun, have intellectual debates and grow your world view!

Mrs. Ball was amazing during the transition to online classes during the pandemic. She made everything simple and helped a lot. She did a zoom class every week and was constantly looking out for us through Remind app by sending resources and asking how we were. Out of my 3 teachers she was the only one to communicate with me one on one.

Wow I have a deep rooted love for this professor because she understands, cares and is helpful. We did a couple projects that opened my eyes to the world, whats really going on and learned writing skills all at the same time. Shes artsy, earthy, and culturally connected to everyone. She adjusts quickly and always prepared to blow your mind!

Professor Ball is one of the most passionate, considerate, and positive professors I have ever had the pleasure to be taught by. Her curriculum is very current and regularly updated to prepare students with the awareness of relevant problems today. From the syllabus to the final project, everything is clearly outlined and meaningful!

Do all the extra credit and you can get over an A. Super nice and helpful. She chooses projects that are relevant today. Take her, she's amazing. Didn't have to write a single essay, but there were assignments that you had to discuss and analyze and write short paragraphs.

If you actually put in a small amount of effort you will get and A in the class. Professor Ball is NOT a harsh grader. If you are consistent she will give you 100% on every assignment. Workload is moderate but manageable. She literally gave us a "mental health week" in the middle of the semester just to give us a break. She accepts late work. 10/10

Seriously a great teacher. She just wants to ensure that you are fully grasping the concepts she is teaching! There is a bit of busy work, but nothing you can't complete in a timely manor. I woulnd't stress about this classs If you do turn something in early enough she will give feedback & allow a resubmit for a better grade. I enjoyed her ways.<3

She was great for an online English class! Very responsive, a little bit of busy work but nothing serious. Things are all due on Monday/Wednesday just as an fyi, so be prepared to work in the beginning of the week. She was nice, this class was focused on a lot of social justice and the end project was a creative project, not an essay!

Professor Ball is a great choice for those looking to take an online English course. Shes caring, offers extra credit, and does her best to help students succeed. That being said, her course was heavily influenced by her sociopolitical beliefs which can make the class atmosphere feel a bit like an echo-chamber. Shes definitely still great though.

Prof. Ball was a life changer for me. She inspired me to pursue becoming an English professor myself. She is warm, open, encouraging, and funny. Her teaching style revolves around projects, in which you take an active participation in the material. I took this class for Honors and loved the additional projects. I had professor ball for a semester class and loved her! Her canvas shell was super clear and straightforward. I also had her for honors and it wasn't too much additional work. It was a photography project, research paper of our choice, and a few meetings. Professor ball really cares about her students 10/10 would recommend this professor!

You can tell Professor Ball cares for her students. The class is very structured and she sends a new video every week giving a break down of what we will do this week. She also lets you chose how you want to submit an assignment i.e written paper, slideshow, art, etc. Easy workflow, although this class is not very writing heavy, more ethnic study

Professor Ball cared about the students and was very responsive, even on weekends and holidays. She gives extra credit, and her teaching style is top-notch, but I wasn't a fan of the content she chose for my class. Still, I learned a lot. If you want to write like a scholar, go with Professor Ball. Get ready to read a lot!!!!

I was scared to take an english class but with the topics that she chooses and the way she engages her students in her class makes me thankful to have chosen her. Her topics mainly focus on world issues which I loved. I would definitely take her english 205 if it was in person!

I recommend taking this class a lot if you want to learn more about the world, how to write about important situations and problems. As much as I do not like reading, in this class it is fun as well as eye opening. Not only do we read and write, but we also watch films and documentaries. Me as a visual learner, this helps a lot. So, take a chance!

her class isnt hard but theres a constant flow of work because of a wed/sun due date schedule. shes pretty clear about her grading criteria, but it also seems like she grades things based on if you align w her opinions or not which i didnt really like. topics are SJW subjects like capitalism and white supremacist for the entire first half

Prof Ball sets the standard for how online classes should be designed. She clearly puts a LOT of effort into making sure the class works for all learning types, so you have different variations of assignments you can do. Easy to reach and gets back to you quick. Everything is super organized and easy to navigate. Work heavy but not overwhelming.

Great professor, I had her for a Spring English 101 semester. Good at teaching and expressed genuine care for her students. She went out of her way to get me into an Honors enrollment last minute. The topics and subjects talked about in the course are also eye-opening and relevant to modern social injustices.

I didn't feel the need to ask any questions while doing the assignments because any question I did have were answered through looking at her very detailed instructions.
