Great teacher. She knows her stuff and is eager to teach. I learned so much and my mind has been opened to so many ideas. She did a really good job and I highly recomend her class to anyone.

She is an amazing teacher. I have honestly never had a better instructor at Weber State University. She is extreemly intelligent, articulate, kind, funny - just a very good person.

Christy Call was an awesome teacher! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs to take english. She's very kind and understanding and judges very fair on your work. She actually reads your papers for the topic your wrote on! Not to correct your punctuation!

She's the most amazing teacher and person ever! She really cares about her students. I wouldn't have liked to read so much if it wasn't for her. You`ll brain will be open to wide range of ideas.

WOW! If you want to learn. She isnt easy but she is fair and so intelligent that every day you will leave head spinning. I not only learned English but psychology, history, philosophy... Just a great class. She is simply the best professor I have ever had.

She is so wonderful, so kind, grades fairly, extremely interested in what you have to say, never puts words in your mouth. She becomes a very dear friend by the end of the semester.

She is always fair and open to suggestion. She doesn't really teach grammar and punctuation, but if you're already strong in those areas her class can really help you to expand the way you think. She's intellectually and personally well-rounded. Hardly any research required. All you really need to do is write honestly.

Prof. Call is interested in students forming their own ideas. she cares more about the process than the end result. She is one of the few teachers who means 'you can share your ideas without me telling u what to think." So many interesting conversations. I dont like english much but it didnt seem like the typical eng. class. She is Fair.

Christy is a wonderful teacher. She cares about her students and I would recommend her to anyone. Before Christy's class I hated English; I would never read for fun. Now I can't keep my nose out of books and I feel more comfortable writing. My confidence level went way up in just the first 3 weeks of class. If you have the chance, take her class.

I hate english and I held off for 5 years. I would have her again. Always a deep class disscussion, flexible with due dates. She wants quality writing, so none of this dinky essay papers.

Christy is a very good professor. She is very open minded. She doesn't choose what's right and what's wrong. People told me that English 955 wasn't worth it, but after taking her class, it was worth every penny. We had alot of good class discussions.

Christy is the BEST professor at WSU. The only way you could not like this class, or this professor, is if you didn't do the work even after she extended deadlines and allowed you to rewrite your papers. She's demanding but more than fair in her expectations. She taught me how to be curious about school again. She's really the best.

Christy made me love english and love to write! we wrote alot but she really worked with you at deadlines. She hates grading but she really cares and puts in her true thoughts. I love christy and wish she was teaching 1010

She is amazing. She doesn't have an ego and this may be the reason why more people don't statues to her greatness. She listens to students. She even takes a backseat. As a student who actively participated in discussions my only reluctance was that she would have less time to give us a glance into the workings of her mind. It is a beautiful mind!

Really, really helpful. She will meet with students anytime to help them understand. I would rate her tough because she assigns work that makes you think, but she also helps you complete the work. DONT TAKE HER IF YOU WANT AN EASY GRADE! I am really proud of my progress since being in her class. I want to major in English.

Great teacher. Loved by everyone but the amount of essays, reading, ect.. (homework) was irritating when I have other classes homework to do. I attended everyday in her class because it was a good experience.

I am taking her online now and it has been a good overall experience. She gave a lot of work but she provides feedback and she is fair about accepting late work. She allow us to exxpress our own ideas. She met with me several times and was nice. When I talked with her she said she wanted our assignments to be meaningful and they have been.

WOW!! If you are having a tough time with english, this is the teacher you need!! She has been by FAR the best teacher I have ever had. Pretty funny. Interesting. Not a hard class but there is work. overall about 12 one page papers, full credit if u do the work. Doesnt collect them till about two weeks after she assigns them. Three essays total. She gives good ideas which helps for the papers and your essay so class is beneficial. Values others opinions. Highly recommend her!!!

Christy is a well-educated person who specializes in English. She was my AP English teacher in High School, and I soon found her at Weber State five years later. She is extremely helpful in all of the subjects she teaches. She will always help you out; and her success is based on your success. I recommend her as your english teacher! A+ service!

She is a kind instructor, and teaches on a broad spectrum. I learned things in her class that I have applied to at least four other classes that are unrelated.She is very passionate about what she is teaching to you. If you attend and stay on task you should have no problem getting a decent grade.

She is a great teacher. We can clearly see that she loves her job. She is exptremelly helpful and flexible too, which it is a must specially if you are a full time student. You must be in her classes though. Take notes and you will be able to write your papers. I wish she was teaching this summer so I take English 1010 with her.

I took her class for developmental English to get in to ENGL 1010 and she was great. A real nice teacher and all around good class so no worries here I don't think at least for all.

I took Christy my first semester on campus and I have missed her ever since. She is by far the best English teacher on Campus, if you can find her all the way to 1010 take her. I was not lucky enough to find her class again through the remainder of my English classes but have missed her dearly. Again you will not find a better English Professor

AMAZING teacher!! She pushes you so you can become a better writer but she does it in a way that you understand everything. She cares if you come to class because she cares that you pass the class. She gives you really good feedback on your papers. The work isn't hard at all! You only have to read one book and have one other book of your choice.

I highly recommend taking this class from Christy! She is very passionate about what she is teaching and about teaching it in a way that you will understand. She broke down how to write a paper perfectly for me and I was able to understand how to structure a paper for my other classes! I would love to have her for all of my english teachers.

This class was fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aye caramba! Aye Dios Mio! It was so great because she slaps herself everyday on the knee, and pats students on the back with some oomph after doing a great job! Loooove herrrrrrr.

I took Christy's class last semester and she killed us everyday- in a good way. She is not like other professors. She listens, cares. She talks honestly. She isn't an easy teacher because she really wants students to learn, and she was always pushing us to think about really difficult things: justice, truth, ethics. Go to her to learn big ideas!

Christy was by far my favorite teacher I have ever had. If you keep up on the little work she gives you, you will pass the class with flying colors. She asked for the classes feedback on how much workload we wanted and if we were too stressed out with other classes she would tailor and hold back on other assignments so we wouldn't feel overwhelmed

First day of class you could instantly tell she is different and that she cares for you as a student, person, and contributor to society. We didn't receive a ton of assignments like I do in my English classes now, but her teaching style is amazing! You learn SO much from her!

We did a lot of writing and reading. I looked through my writings on the last day of class and was amazed at what i did. Focus on ethics is big. Her assignments ask tough questions. No busy work. I learned grammar finally. Gives lots of feedback too. The discussions in class are amazing!

Christy is awesome and super niceeasy to work with. She really cares about making an environment that you really can learn and grow in. There is a LOT of class discussion and writing, but the topics were always interesting. She does make you think outside of your comfort zone, so prepare to be mind blown every day.

Such a great class! You can expect a good discussion each class session. There's a lot of required reading and writing each week, but it is an Honors course. Dr. Call is hilarious, nice, helpful, and keeps class interesting. Very good feedback and fair grading. No tests, but some group work and papers. I would take the class again.

This has been my favorite class I have taken! I had to miss a few classes and when I emailed her about it she was so helpful and understanding! This class is a heavy discussion class, and really makes you think. The lectures are more like class discussions, and the students really control the direction. Really makes you reconsider common ideas.

Christy is sincere. She believes in teaching as a critical way of thinking about society. I don't think everyone can understand this approach. Some people want to teach because they want summers off. For those of us in her class who think of teaching as a profession beyond daycare or babysitting, she is a model teacher. I learned a lot.

I like Professor Call, but I did not like this class. I felt like every lecture turned into a discussion about philosophy. I spent hours and hours reading the material before class. It was a lot of work. The final paper was very easy and she gives tons of feedback. She is so nice. I just didn't love her teaching style.

Took Calls 3080 class this summer. It was intense, but it was also interesting. The ideas are important. She gives as much to students as she asks in return. (She read my final paper 4 times, providing feedback each time. She met with me twice after class.) She cares a lot. Her high expectations made my writing better.

Dr. Call teachers through open discussion where everyone's differing opinions mattered. She makes her students feel safe and in charge of their own learning experiences. I really liked her teaching style and encouragement to help us enjoy the learning process. We were given excellent feedback on rough drafts and every chance to earn an A!!

There's plenty of difficult reading and a lot of work in the form of essays and written discussions online. Because of this, there's a lot to learn from Call and fellow students, with in-class discussions enriching understanding of the reading. Call leads discussions well and offers a lot of in-depth understanding of her literary subjects.

I fell in love. I guess it might be possible to overlook how smart Christy is because She is funny and humble and unpretentious but the ideas in her class and are truly stunning. It really has been one of the best learning experiences of my life. I've told everyone I know to take her class.

The conversations in class are really important, but she makes them fun and you have a good time. There is a ton of information in the class but it is really interesting and fun.

Christy made my freshman year of college a delight. I had days where I didn't want to show up to class, but I left feeling like I actually LEARNED something. There are almost always assigned readings either from the novels or article snippets but they are engaging and easy to read. Showing up is important but she works with you if you miss.

Dr. Call is one of the best professors I've ever had at Weber. I despised the class and dreaded going every day, but Dr. Call was discussion oriented and made the classes fun. She had so much passion for what she taught about. She's a perfect model of how teachers should teach. Definitely would recommend and take again

Christy is an amazing professor. She is very engaging with the class and you pretty much know what to expect from her. However, she tends to be a little bit aloof when you need help with something. Says she will give you feed back etc. but often waits till last minute.

Her class fills quickly so I had to wait to even get in. I had heard so much about Dr. Call and all of the praise is well earned. Her class is an amazing experience. It's intense in a good way. I haven't ever received the amount or quality of feedback on my writing that she provided. She is smart and kind and hilarious. The best at WSU.

Dr Call's area of expertise is contemporary literature. She knows a ton about current theory and directions in fiction. A lot is expected. Writings go through a series of revisions. She reads everything you write. No slacking in this one. She pushes people. Attendance is crucial. The readings are complex. Her classes are a challenge but rewarding.

Best professor I ever had -- and Weber's filled w/ quality professors. My 5th class w/ her. Considered failing this one deliberately just to prolong my college career and take her again. She's 2-Legitimate-2-Quitimate, for sure. It's not just LIKING a professor, it's about how fundamentally changed you are post-class. Refined. Equipped. Better.

Christy Call is the most amazing teacher I have ever had! I ended up taking this class because it was one of the only ones that fit my schedule and met the gen ed credit that I needed. It sounded incredibly boring to me to begin with, but it ended up being on of my favorite classes because of her! She is so caring and an incredible teacher!

I absolutely hated having to analyze literature before taking this class. Dr. Call did the impossible and changed that. She pushes you to think harder than you ever have before. She is willing to work with you but expects your best. I can honestly say I have never taken a more useful and enjoyable class. Coming out I feel better prepared for life.

Professor Call is probably my favorite teacher at WSU. Her insight into literature is amazing. The class discussions are really fun because they go deep into profound ideas and issues facing society today. This class focused on nature. Make sure to do the reading and to attend class. I highly recommend taking any class from her!

Christy really is such an awesome person. She really cares about her students and would do anything to help them out. A total of three essays based off the readings from our textbook. We read the articles and the next day in class, we talked all about them to help spark inspiration. Very real and the content relates to real life. She really cares!!

One of the best teachers at Weber State. She is so dedicated. She read my curriculum 4 times and provided detailed feedback each time. My curriculum got better and better each time. She was so helpful. My confidence is higher and I feel ready to teach. I loved learning about textual tensions. So grateful!

No text book but a ton of other books and articles in Construction of Knowledge. Deep, thought-provoking reads and lectures: not a huge fan of the books although they were well-written they're very graphic and vulgar which Christy doesn't excuse. She's really lax and just likes to think and discuss ideas, really easy to get along with and please.

I cannot say enough good things about her! Christy has got to be one of the best teachers I have had in my entire academic career. She is extremely helpful, respectful, and you can tell she wants the best for her students and wants them to succeed. I would take a class from her anytime!

Wow this teacher is AMAZING! Whatever you do get into her class you will absolutely not regret it. She is probably the most understanding and brilliant professor here. I have taken 5+ classes from Dr Call for my English minor. I have never been so in awe of a lecturer. She is brilliant and beyond passionate for the subject. She is easily to articulate aspects of literature I've never been able to put into words. That being said, her classes are reading and participation heavy, so you have to read and show up.

Dr Call provides tons of feedback. She took late work at full credit and worked with me when I got stuck building my portfolio. It turned out amazing. Great class and teacher.

I had Dr. Call's Construction of Knowledge course in conjunction with Dr. Bedford, and absolutely loved it. This was a course I had to take for my scholarship, but I'm so glad I did. It's a discussion-based course where you'll review thought-provoking assigned materials (section of a novel, articles, etc.) and discuss. Convos were great. 10/10.

Every class was amazing. Christy really cares about her students. She made it a great experience.

Dr Call was a great teacher! There is a LOT of reading, so get ready to do so. We were graded on a final 10-page paper, a 5-question exam, and a discussion leader requirement. Participation isn't necessary but she likes it when you ask for clarification or offer your thoughts. You can miss a total of like two classes before you get confused.
