Very sweet teacher. Very helpful and encouraging. Always took time to answer questions and give clarification on problems.
Great teacher! Easy A if you go to class and do your homework.
She is a good teacher. She helps when asks and for my class, she went over homework which really helped. Her tests are straight from homework and wiley. I got an A on every test. Do wiley homework. The final was hard to study for, but it was kind of like other test. I RECOMMEND HER!!
She was an awesome teacher. If you go to class and show your interest in learning she is more than willing to help when you are having trouble. Very sweet lady and I highly recommend her. Her test were not too bad just make sure you go over the sections a few nights before the test to refresh your memory. She doesn't try to trick you on test.
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER.Smart, sweet, and funny. Always looking to help.
She is very smart but can not relate material to students that dont have a basic knowledge of the material. She hardly ever writes on the board....its a math class how do u teach without using the board? I got an A, but only because I can teach myself. She needs to be in an office somewhere craming numbers, not in a classroom teaching.
super nice! i failed my first semester and then took her the next and passed, she explained things differently and actually took the time to go over things more than once instead of rushing us through the semester! i would definitely recommend her!
She's not good at teaching. She sits at her desk the whole class and doesn't explain the material. I don't know why they make bad teachers teach future teachers. Her teaching style is best for self-directed learners.
I failed math 107 last semester, and had her this semster and I have an A. Do the homework and go to class and you should get a good grade.
She is very nice. There is no text book. She works problems on the board and assigns homework. Make sure to complete it because it is a majority of your grade.
Does not teach very well at all. She basically projects a picture of the book onto the screen and runs through the examples. Does not like people asking questions. Very condescending. Hard to approach. Take a different teacher.
extremely helpful...she takes the time to review homework and explain problems you dont understand step by step. she is more than willing to help you if you need. attendance is mandatory she makes the course easy but you have to put forth an effort
Really awesome teacher! She spends almost half the class working homework questions from the night before. Doesnt pick up book work but WileyPlus is mandatory. Teaches at a good learning speed. Replaces lowest grade with your final. Take her if you can
Take her! 4 tests & final replaces your lowest grade. Use a workbook everyday, she doesnt count attendance and you go over hw everyday at beginning of class.
No textbook. Works plenty of problems on the board and gives lots of homework. Do the homework and you will ace the tests! You work in groups to do in class work. Very helpful if have any questions.
Really good teacher. Very easy, pay attention and do homework and you will pass. Attendence is not mandatory but you would want to go to pass.
Really good teacher. Very nice and fun. Explains everything very well. I'm really not good at math, so I went to her office when I didn't understand things and she helped me so much. I passed the class with a B. Just go to class and do homework and you'll be fine.
Worst teacher I have had since I started college. Sits at her desk and is not very helpful. She told a student figure it out cause I'm not goin over that problem.
This teacher would literally just sit and teach from her desk and rarely got up to show how to work problems on the board. She was very helpful if you asked questions, but when it came to asking what to expect on the tests/final you are pretty much left clueless. Study EVERYTHING and got to every class or you will definitely not pass.
attendance not mandatory but if you want to do well on tests then go to class. She knows her stuff and is more than willing to help if you ask questions and pay attention. Loved her so much I took her for 107 and 117
The material in this class is very simple, but you must learn to explain it in a clear and correct way. Mrs. Langley was helpful at the beginning, but that went away as the class progressed. I enjoyed the class. Go if you want to make good grades on the tests.
She says she will help but doesn't. She went over the work quickly and moved on to the next before you could learn one subject, plus there wasn't a book. I had her for a night class and she rushed the test to have class. Don't take her if you can avoid it. She also has an attitude. She seemed nice at the begining but is really not.
If you aren't strong at math, this isn't the professor for you. She rushes through a chapter & moves on to the next before you can even have a clear unerstanding. She sits at her desk majority of the time & she doesn't work a lot of examples. Horrible attitude as well.
She rushes through things, and doesn't explain things well. She isn't very helpful. When you ask for help she helps you some of the time. I wouldn't recommend her.
Not a very good teacher. She always has an attitude. If you have a question you do better asking someone else because she caught an attitude or made everyone feel low when they asked a question. Take another professor. She was not clear when teaching the lessons
Don't take her. She is not helpful and very sarcastic. We had an allotted hour and 15 minutes for class, and she rushed through the lesson in 15 minutes to go eat lunch. She also doesn't provide answers to hw unless you ask, and even then she's sassy about it. Save yourself the grief and take someone else.
She was not the best teacher to start off Math 102, she is very rude toward the students. In the beginning shes nice. But it seems as if the students should already know know the material. She is also very rude toward the students. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER!!
I think people are misunderstanding her humor. She is sarcastic but not rude. She's just a blunt person but she teaches the material well. If you pay attention in class, you're sure to do well. And she will go over problems but just not the same type of problem 5 times each, if you get what I'm saying.
She's been very helpful and patient with us this far. She seems to genuinely care about her students grades and if they understand the material or not.
GREAT TEACHER! yes, her class requires effort, but that is how math classes are. if you have a problem, you can go to her office and she is SO friendly and helpful. if you tell her homework problem that you had trouble with, she will do it on the board. I actually LEARNED the material, not just remembered it for the tests. love this woman!
OK the lady I super nice and willing to help you.If you're not a mathmetician I suggest visiting her office hours. I would sit in there for two hours three times a week and make B's on her test. YOU MUST do your online homework oryouwill fail. If you suck at math, take her. She babiesyou. (im having keyboard issues)
She began as a nice sweet person after about 2 weeks in her class she became very sarcastic. She doesn't like questions and to her there is a stupid question. She will go over homework if you ask her . Do Wileyplus or you will fail. Her test are complicated showing work is a must or no credit. I wouldn't suggest taking her if you are hard at math.
She's a little sarcastic, well very. Test are from what she teaches, but what she teaches is not clear. She just seems drained teaching which makes it very hard to follow along. Final is a doozey, 43 word problems. She says it helps you but brought me from a low A to a C.
As stated before, she's sarcastic, but it's runny. If you need help with just about anything, go to her office hours! She loves one-on-one with her students. The class isn't the easiest, but do the homework and ask questions and you'll be fine. The final is a killer though. It's cumulative and brought me from a high B to a low C.
Absolutely the worst teacher ever!!! She is not helpful nor does she really care about teaching and improving you!!! She goes over things too quickly and don't even think about questioning her methods because she'll just look at you like you're stupid. If you walk in and her there, WALK OUT IMMEDIATELY!!! DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!
This teacher is horrible. She is not helpful in her classroom or out of her classroom. She is rude and sarcastic. She does not teach she expects that you just know the material. She makes her students feel stupid. It is obvious that she hates her job. Don't take her if you have a choice.
Very difficult to pass her class. Her tests are very difficult, and this is the first class I have failed.
She's rude sarcastic and likes to make people feel dumb if she feels like they're not on her level. I even went to her office during office hours to try and ask a question to clarify something and she just blew on me for no reason. She's an ok teacher but with a bad attitude. Replaces lowest grade and with final and grades Wiley plus
She makes me enjoy going to math. I love her. Sometimes she can be grumpy but she doesn''t take it out on us.
If you're not good at math, I wouldn't recommend taking her. She is a tough grader and when she teachers she goes fast. She doesn't really care to help you. There are no bonus points. Expect to constantly be on WileyPLUS. She is hard, and annoying and has a dry personality. If you can, take someone else.
bad at math ? don't take her
Professor Langley was without a doubt my favorite teacher this semester. It is obvious that she loves math and is willing to help her students. She goes over any homework problems during class and will explain it until you understand. Go to class, do your homework, ask questions and you'll be fine.
she teaches the easy problems and then puts hard tricky ones on the tests. you just do problems all class. very hard grader. I took ap calculus in high school and this class was way harder. I do struggle in math but I study and her tests are still hard. I studied for 3 days for final and I thought I knew everything and I ended up with a D on it.
She's super funny as a person, & not easy as a teacher. She gives a TON of homework & waits until the last minute of class to give it. Don't expect this class to be easy. This kind of a math is aggravating, new, and specific. She makes it understandable though! I love her! Do the homework & really practice how y'all do it in class!
Amazing, funny teacher! She is very willing to help you understand if you don't. I would totally recommend her to everyone. All these bad posts I see were wrong. Do you expect her to pass you or be nice if you do not do the homework or study? People this might shock you but MATH is hard!!
The classwork and Wileyplus is extremely easy, but the tests are super hard. 10 Questions and 100 point test. The teacher is great but it's a hard class. I would take someone else if I could.
I found her to be really helpful and clear as to what she wants out of her students. She assigns a lot of homework, but it isn't required and is just there for you to do if you feel you need it. There are only a few tests, but the final is optional to bring up your grade in the class. All in all if you care then she will, too.
Langley is great professor. She makes sure everyone has time for notes, she's willing to go over problems with the whole class, and she's very laidback. The material can sometimes get pretty hard but as long as you do the homework and take decent notes you should be good.
I would advise taking someone else if possible. Her test are extremely hard! The only thing that kept me alive was Wiley Plus and going to her office hours EVERYDAY! She told my class that she didn't want everyone to pass. She doesn't give opportunity for bonus. I'm a 4.0 student and got a C on 3 out of the 4 tests and 1 B.
I hope you think that EXACT same way that she does, if not I'll pray for you. I was probably one of the few students to actually pass by the skin of my teeth. She doesn't explain why you got points off of her test in less you go to her office hours. GOOD LUCK!
If you pay attention in class and do the homework, this class is a breeze. She is more than happy to help you to understand the material and she also gives formulas on the tests.
Would absolutely NOT take her class again. Horrible teacher. I personally feel like she can do the work just cannot teach it. I asked for help multiple times by it would never help. LOTS of homework. Test are impossible. Do yourself a favor and don't take her class.
Lots of homework. The tests have material that she doesn't cover, but is in the book if you look for it. She will test you on some wild problems that are only slightly similar to what was taught in class.
One of the best math teachers i've ever had the pleasure of taking. Just do your work and you'll pass. It's math not an art elective.
Mrs. Langley is a slide reader. In fact the first math teacher I've seen teach from slides. She's pretty lazy in her teaching which puts a lot of added stress on you. You pay a lot of money for tuition, don't waste it on someone who flips slides and takes a week to grade one 10 question test.
She teaches multiple sections in one day, doesn't actually do work just explains the textsbooks powerpoints, kind of felt like everytime anyone in my class tried to ask a question she looked at us stupid and made us feel bad infront of everyone, brings child to class which is very distracting, very lazy teaching style and aggressive personality
Personally, Ms. Christy Sue Langley is one of my favorite professors this semester. If you are looking for an easy A, this is not where to find it. Go to class, take notes, pay attention, do your homework, go to her office hours, and study for the exams, you'll be fine.
Mrs. Langley was a nice woman. But her method of teaching is horrible. I've never stuggled in math until this class. I studied and studied and still did poorly on her test. My advice would be to ask questions and go to her office hours.
This was a tough class, but she helps if you just ask. I started going to her office after failing the first two test and she would take the time to show me how to work problems. The best way i learned was when she started giving worksheets. She gives partial credit on missed problems on the test so that really helps. Overall, shes a great proff.
Assigns a lot of homework, but it isn't mandatory. Homework quizzes on moodle. Gives formula sheet for most exams. Participation isn't graded, but she uses clickers daily which are graded. Kind of annoying and uses powerpoint for everything and doesn't show you how work is done. But, she will help you if you need. Final is not necessary.
Awesome teacher. Makes class as easy as possible.
I have never made an A in a math class until now Professor Langley is an easy teacher as long as you show up and do the homework. She does everything by slide, but it is very clean and easy to read. She always goes step by step for each problem and does Iclicker questions to make sure everyone understands how to do the problems.
Mrs. Langley is the best!! Didn't make anything harder than it needed to be. Easy A. Do the homework (3-5 questions) because, let's face it, you have to practice at home to do well in math. Used slides to teach but that actually made it easier for me to understand because it was more organized. 4 tests (she gives you the formulas!!), optional final
Absolutely loved the way she taught her class. She really tries to get her students to understand the information in depth. She is a very hands on teacher and does many activities in class. Definitely not a boring class in the slightest cause you're always doing something. Only thing is she is a tough grader/her tests can be difficult.
This woman loves Texas which is gross but other than that I have to give it to her shes a pretty good teacher.
She teaches off of PowerPoints that she gets off of the internet from random people. She doesn't work out many problems on the board, especially the graphing ones, so it's hard to follow. When students ask questions in class, she acts like it is the dumbest question ever, so this is why I never asked any questions. Overall, she's decent.
Gives a lot of Wiley+ homework, but it's best to do it because it prepares you for the tests. If you think you can just not study and take the test, you will fail it. Working the book problems prepares you for the exams. The final is comprehensive, but is based on the previous 4 tests. Make sure you can do every type of problem.
Majority of classes were spent doing pointless activities so when it came time to do the homework you didnt know what you were doing. Was not a fan of her.
I am really glad Mrs. Langley was my teacher this semester! If Wiley+ was acting up she would just give you the points if your answer was correct. She gives partial credit on tests but also takes off points if something is not written 100% correctly. She takes each lesson slow and let us vote on when our tests would be taken. She's great one-on-one
She is an extremely tough grader and can be incredibly intimidating. The work load isnt very hard, but when the class starts to struggle, she does lash out.
Loved her class! She does lots of activities that help you to actually understand the why and how behind the math instead of just straight memorization of formulas. I do tend to be fairly good at math though; so the class was extremely easy for me. She only gets annoyed when students are either talking or playing on their phones during class.
she was also a tough grader. literally the whole class was lecture and there's always homework. she explains things decently but you have to study at least a little and ask questions if you want to pass
Literally one of the worst professors I have ever had. She seems to show little care regarding student's home lives. We are in the middle of a pandemic and she seems to think we should be understanding the topics to the fullest regardless of the depressing events going on in everyone's lives right now. She answers questions as if you are stupid.
She wants you to pass this class just as much as you want to pass. She let us turn in our homework for corrections and gave us an opportunity to make up anything we got wrong on the homework. Make sure you read the textbook while you do the bookwork because it really helps answers any questions you might have about it.
Mrs. Langley is a great professor. She really wants her students to succeed. She will grade homework if you turn it in early and let you turn in corrections so you can get the best grade. She is very busy, but if you schedule within her office hours she is more than happy to help you with anything. Study and practice and you will pass.
Miss Langley makes you feel stupid when you ask her or answer a question. She gives no feedback on homework so you do not know how to correct it or study it for the tests. She grades as if we should know exactly how she would explain the answer. WORST math teacher I have had at UL so far.
I think with the 17 math professors its just whether they work for you or not. I personally love Langley for 117 and I have her for 217 as well! I made sure to reach out for office hours and do all homework and corrections. It is a challenging class but I think as long as you do all your work, go to class, and reach out to her you will be okay!
there are a lot of homework assignments yet they dont contribute much to final grade. she teaches very well though and is willing to help. i do not recommend skipping class bc she goes over a lot of material in one class. she teaches till class is over. she also provides you with a note guide to fill in as she teaches. def recommend her
If you don't have a specific question she will NOT help you. I tried goin to her and many of my friends did too. She just blows you off and has told most of us whatever we learned is wrong and that your past schooling failed you. Then she will never show you what to do she just expects you to know.
Honestly, when people say trust rate my professor they mean it. The class started out okay however it all went downhill from there by mid-semester. We had our first test when everyone else was having a midterm. Homework contributes to very little of your grade and the tests are nothing like the homework/worksheets.
Worst teacher I have ever had in my life. Does not teach anyone the material. She gets an attitude with any person who asks a question. Absolutely can not teach
WARNING: If you know you have to graduate, please dont take her class! She does not care about unforeseen circumstances regarding students. She will not help you succeed. Although she talks about success, her actions show otherwise. Ive experienced tragedy this semester. She failed me without consideration stopping me from graduating.
If you can, avoid this professor at all costs. I kid you not, within a month of the class starting, over half of the class dropped. Take anyone else please!
Although Langley is tough, this class is very doable! You have to be well disciplined and even though this class is not mandatory, you will miss a lot if you do not go. My best advice would be to show up and actively participate and you will be fine. I would definitely take Langley again; she really does care, it is just a hard class.
This is a very tough class, but if you are willing to put in the work, Mrs.Langley will work with you. She offers office hours every single day of the week. The material is hard, but honestly, Mrs. Langley has been one of my favorite professors that I've had. She truly cares about us. Go to class, take advantage of HW corrections and office hours.
Out of the horrendous selections that 117, 217, and 317 have to offer--professor Langley is the milder one. Though if you ever see a professor that doesn't normally teach these classes, TAKE THEM. Langley was okay. Many of us had to drop, though this is just a tough class.
Half of our class dropped this class early! I decided to stay in it, and now wishes I dropped as well. The class also was never boring, because we always talked about different things. I honestly love this class, but wouldn't recommend it! She is a very HARD grader. If you want to pass, take another professor.
everything went downhill the second week. worksheets and homework don't really count at the end of the semester, just the tests(which are HARD) her teaching is not the best she goes over everything really fast, don't get on her bad side at the beginning cause that's how you'll be treated for the rest of the semester
If you pay attention in class, do the sample test booklets before tests, and do the homework you'll do good in this class. It's a lot of homework at times, but nothing too difficult.
Hard class and difficult to follow most of the time. It was smooth sailing at the beginning of the semester, but about 3 weeks in it became challenging. Half the class dropped by the third week. Catch her on a good day and she will give you good feedback and MAYBE an extra credit opportunity. On her bad days, class is very difficult.
Half the class dropped very early. I stayed in thinking I could bring my grade up but it became more difficult and my GPA suffered. She doesn't post her grades on moodle until 2 weeks before the semester is over. Never notified us about homework therefore dropped my grade a lot.
Just be a good student and pay attention.
I must say Ms. Langley does make time to speak to you about your test or practice work, however, she doesn't know how to teach MATH (Finance). Her test is different from the worksheets and practice problems, nothing is labeled and proctorU is nightmare monitoring test. I would not recommend this professor especially if you struggle with Math.
Ms. Langley offers very little support and cares very little about the success of her students. Extremely hard grader! Should definitely not be teaching the remedial algebra course because they need to be supported and she definitely does not!
I'm confused by some of Mrs. Langley's reviews. She is a great math professor and makes content very easy to understand. She was always willing to help with homework or questions outside of class hours, just ask her and she'll help you however she can. She also gives great notes, so utilize them. Don't be scared by these other reviews, she's great!
Despite the negative reviews, I loved Mrs. Langley and her class. She is extremely nice and she moves at the perfect pace to keep students interested but not go too fast. I had to drop my financial math class last semester, but I passed hers with flying colors. She makes the material so easy to understand and applies it to everyday life. Great prof
she is a VERY tough grader. homework and in class assignments are not enough to do well in her class you have to do well on the tests in order to pass.
I absolutely hated this course. There were 50 minutes in the class and many peers reported not finishing their tests due to too many questions. She actually doesn't teach but just shows the work and kind of lets the class figure it out on their own. She's immature, revealing what should be private information in front of the class. DO NOT TAKE!!!
I don't know why everyone judges or dislikes her. Personally, I think she is an amazing teacher and she does care about her students. Definitely do the homework, do the tests booklets and study the notes she gives you and you will do great in the class.
She's a very sweet woman, however if you do not bother to put in work and lots of effort you will fail her class. Despite intense studying, I passed with a C. I recommend printing out her notes she provides for class periods on Moodle. Very intense grader. Once you know what she looks for, you can get better grades on tests.
Mrs. Langley has mixed reviews, but I found her class quite manageable. She explains concepts clearly, and I used unstuckstudy alongside the textbook to succeed. Overall, a decent professor if you stay engaged.
Worst professor ever. I do not recommend taking her class. Everyone in my online class hates this class- including me. Nearly impossible to pass. Tests are hard and so is the homework. Not a very nice professor and can be rude.
If you can avoid this class, please do! It is not easy at all and even with tutoring, the highest grade I made was D on the tests. I took it online and she does not teach. When asked for assistance she was not available.
if you like skipping class, choose a new teacher. the actual teacher was very into the subject, but she would never show up on test days. it was always the tas. won't take responsibility even if she's in the wrong.
She goes VERY quickly when doing notes. She isn't very accessible for questions. She will treat you like you are dumb if you don't understand a question.
Mrs.Langley is great. She explains everything in great detail, but you have to stay engaged. The work will be much easier if you are engaged in class and ask questions. She is also very helpful during office hours. She wants to help you succeed!
She's a good math teacher according to some. Can be a rude or inconsiderate at times. Gives clear expectations. Does NOT accept any late work under any condition. Attendance matters. Gives good test taking opportunities.
As someone who sucks at math, this was the easiest math class i've taken because she's such a good professor. I was so confused the whole semester on how my classmates were struggling. She gives lots of partial credit, answers emails, and has lots of hw points. If you don't do the work or go to class you won't pass, shocker! She's great.
