Class just started and already we have assignments to do. But the class is interesting. This is a researh methods class and I have to take it, it is required. She makes it seem like there are tons of other reasons to take this class, which is surprisingly accurate! She is funny and answers emails QUICK!! I hope the rest of the term is as fun.
Dr. Wright is probably one of my favorite professors that I've had. She is very understanding and will help you out whenever she can. Research Methods is a boring subject but she makes the class interesting, and she is super smart! I would definitely recommend her. Assignments included: homework, labs, midterm, RESEARCH PAPER, and a final.
I absolutely loved this professor and want to take more classes with her. I agree, she is smart and definately knows the subject she is teaching. I wish I had her for stats too. Excellent attitude and she tries to be funny. She made the class interactive. We did class demonstrations of research designs, content analysis, and others. She made it fun
I have her for psy of women at the south lake campus and relly like her teaching stule. we discuss the concepts each clas and relate them to life and our experiences. we have weekly quizzes, a midterm and final, presentations, and a project at the end.
i have her for stats now. i did not want to take this class. but now i look forward to going to class she trys to make it fun. she definitly knows her stuff. we have a group project, 2 exams, and quizzes. so far it is much better than i thought it would be
it is obvious that she really cares for her students and wants everyone to pass the class. she tried to make the class fun but doesn't make it easy just so you can pass. there is a midterm and a final, chapter quizzes, and a FUN group project!!
i have her for statistics right now. i thought i would hate this class but actually like what we are doing. the professor always comes to class early to help, she tries to make the class fun, and she is extremely helpful. we have quizzes, 2 exams, and a group project, which is really fun. the professor is fair and answers emails fast. take her!!
I HAVE HER NOW AND WISH I COULD TAKE HER FOR OTHER CLASSES. BECAUSE OF HER I NOW HAVE A PRESENTATION ON MY CV. I HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING IN GRAD SCHOOL. SEEMS LIKE THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE CLASS IS THE GROUP PROJECT, GETTING US A PRESENTATION OR SOMETHING ON OUR RESUME, THERE ARE 2 EXAMS, AND QUIZZES. I HAVE NEVER HAD A TEACHER DO THIS BEFORE!
This is not an easy class but i loved it. The professor tries to make sure everyone passes. If you do what she says and kinda try you will pass the class. chapter quiz, 2 exams, and lab project. the lab project was more fun than i thought it would be. even though i got a B, i am proud of it because i earned it.
Online class. 3 words. Read the textbook! It's a very interesting and very easy read. If you read the book, you almost guarantee yourself an A; due to group discussion posts, midterm, final, and chapter quizzes all coming right from the book. Group project is a lot of work, but classmates grade your project, so make it appealing, and you ace it.
This was a pretty easyu online class. Everything is from the book so as long as you read the book you will be fine. There are chapter quizzes, 2 exams, some discussions, and a group project. everything is fron the book. The Professor posted on the discussion board regularly and replied to emails good. Loved the text!!
I had her for statistics at valencia west. i absolutely loved her teaching style and the opportunitys she tries to give students. she is not teaching research methods at west in the fall. but she is at south lake. i am willing to drive there just to take her class. one of the best professors i have ever had at UCF!!
Dr. Wright assigns a great amount of homework and there were 4 books that we had to have for the Research class. The class was almost 5 hours long but she kept it interesting. I liked her teaching style and her sense of humor. She was always willing to help and wants her students to learn.
this is an online class and seems super easy as long as you do the work. there are three exams and 4 discussions. we also have to do some research for a grade. as long as you read the book you should be able to pass easy.
Not a fan of online classes but I had to take it since I was on an internship. Dr Wright laid out exactly what needed to be done, you have easy group discussions, research immersion sucks. Three exams come right out of the book, never read it beforehand I just searched for answers as I took the test and got As on all of them.
This was an easy class if you did the work. The discussions, 4 of them, came from the book and there was no real right or wrong answer. The exams were easy. The research part was horrible but if you did it you got credit. Professor answered emails quick and was helpfil.
I am takin this class with her online right now. the expectations are very clear. there are 6 quizzes, a project, and a final. the professor answers email pretty fast. i would recommend her
Professor Wright is super helpful, very clear with her expectations and works with you if you have any problems. I took her summer A and got an A in the class despite taking microbio. I would highly recommend her! Research immersion sucks but its mandatory not according to her wishes but the psych department! I used the book a lot, easy read!
WHAT A GREAT TEACHER!!!! The way she teaches her class makes the course so much more interesting. She has an awesome project that makes you apply yourself to the outside world. I highly suggest this professor
I absolutely loved this class!! Dr. Wright is an awesome Professor. She keeps the class interesting and will do whatever she can to help students. I highly recommend her!! She is fair with grading. Class had 4 exams, participaton, and a cool project! Take her if you can!!
For a research methods class she is excellent! She does require a lot of work but the more I do the homework and practice the better I do. I just took the midterm and got an A!! She tries to give us extra opportunities to do research and has put together a showcase for western students. This will be a good edition to my CV! Take her! She's great!
Make sure you read "tips to succeed" to get all discussion points, otherwise not difficult to get an A in if you do all the work, but not the easiest of online/pre-req classes ever..
DR WRIGHT IS AWESOME! TAKE HER IF YOU CAN. SHE TRIES TO MAKE THE MATERIAL EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND WILL GO OUT OF HER WAY TO HELP. ILL HAVE A PRESETATION ON MY RESUME BECAUSE OF HER. SHE REALLY CARES FOR HER STUDENTS!!
Dr. Wright is a great teacher! She really cares for her studenrs. She will do what she can to make sure you succees. I have a presntation on my CV now thanks to her. WHAT A GREAT PROFESSOR!
This is a great class as long as you follow the directions. It is most definitely not an easy A but the professor outlines the requirements. Read the text!!
This is a wonderful person to have as a instructor. Dr. Wright is to the point with what she expects what is due and will offer help on how to do it. I would recommend any class she is teaching for everyone to take !
Dr. Wright is a great professor. She requires a lot of work but if you do it you should Ace this class. 15 writing assignments, 14 discussions, 2 exams, and a big group research project. You can use the project when class is over for a presentation/publication for your CV. Take her if you want more than just a grade.
Straight forward class. Quizzes (you have to read the book), discussions, easy project (you'll ace it if you follow instructions), final exam. Very helpful professor. She answers emails in a flash. I recommend her.
Always read the book, never got 100% on a quiz. Many questions didn't seem to match the book. Work was a little extensive for this type of class. Discussions are easy. Project was ridiculous. Read the ENTIRE syllabus! Professor responds quick to email. Interesting material, but I didn't really enjoy this class. Not a difficult A-follow directions.
This is an online class. Not an easy A. BUt if you read the book and follow the directions (read the syllabus) you will ace this class. The quizzes tested if you understood the material, not just defintions, which is why they may be hard for some. I made 100% on several quizzes and aced the final. I recommend Dr. Wright
Dr. Wright is great!! She really cares for her students and wants everyone to succeed. Take her
WHAT A NICE TEACHER! SHE ANSWERS EMAILS FAST, HELPS STUDENTS, AND OUTLINES THE COURSE WELL. THERE ARE 6 QUIZES, 6 DISCUSSIONS, A FUN PROJECT, AND A CUMULATIVE FINAL. I SEE THAT SOME OTHERS DIDN'T LIKE THE CLASS BUT I MADE AN A. IF YOU READ THE BOOK AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS YOU WILL DO GOOD!
I really like Dr. Wright. She requires a lot of practice in the class but you really learn the material if you do the work. And if you miss a few it won't hurt your grade. Chapter quizzes, 2 exams, discussions, and a project. Quizzes and exams come directly from the book and can be taken online. Do the discussions and you get credit!
Straight forward class. Some discussions, quizzes, project, and final exam. Read all of the tips for success doc, follow directions, and read the book. Easy A is you do the work. Plus the Prof answers emails fast if you have a question!
GREAT PROF! SHE IS VERY DETAILED IN HER EXPECTATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CLASS AND ANSWERS EMAILS FAST! SHE IS VERY HELPFUL. CLASS HAS QUIZZES, DISCUSSIONS, PROJECT (READ DIRECTIONS AND BE CREATIVE), AND A FINAL. IF U FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND READ THE TXT YOU'LL ACE THE CLASS
2 books. you do the review questions in the book for each chapter and take a quiz. there is a project and final exam. pretty easy class if you do the work. the review questions are on the quizzes too so they are easy to pass. prof helps alot and works with students. very understanding. easy A if you do the work.
I love the book! dev is told in stories of people. very easy read. there is busy work in this class but i have aced every quiz because of the busy work. and if you miss some of the busy stuff its okay cuz they dont all count for the grade. chapter reviews, quizzes, project, and final. prof. answers emails quick and is understanding of students.
there was a lot of buzy work in this class. but the book was a nice read and if you did all of the buzy work you basically guarantee yourself an A. 2 books, chapter quizzes, chapter reviews, fun project, easy final. prof. helps alot and was understanding of student issues. Easy A if you do the work. I'd take it again.
The course itself is really straightforward. There isn't that much work, but can be if you have other classes or a full time job like I did. She threw a nice curve ball at the end and gave bonus points for missed quizzes. Ended up with an A. Get the book and you'll do fine.
Pretty easy online class. The book she wrote is straight forward, but the supplemental text wasn't the best. Teacher is very helpful, as were her TA's. I put in an average amount of effort and ended up with a 97. Course load was light to average, considering it was a 6 week class. I totally recommend taking Developmental Psychology online with her.
stats class in the summer. mixed mode. book was an easy read. 13 ch quizzes, some lab assignments that could be hard at times, 2 exams. Her lectures were fine. she tried to be funny. clear explanations of the stats and formulas. if you do the work you should pass this class no prblem. extra credit could get you an A. she is fair with the grading.
Cant say enough great things about this professor! Truly one of the best! Dr. Wright will go out of her way to help you as long as you put in effort. Be prepared for each lecture by reading the chapter beforehand. Attendance is crucial. She keeps students active in class with great questions, humor, and thought-provoking concepts. Take this class!
Dr. Wright is an excellent professor. She infuses humor with her lessons, which really lightens things up. She is great at explaining the material, and she is very, very helpful. I would definitely recommend this professor.
I took it online. She was incredibly straight forward in what was expected in the course. You could do everything on your own time as long as you did the assignments when they were due. The tests were straight from the book, so yes, you must buy the book. I highly recommend this course.
I had her in the summer and she was awesome! her lectures aren't boring. she makes them as interactive as possible. lab assignments were a breeze. she was extremely helpful and answered emails in a flash (i hope she has a life outside of class, though). 2 exams, lab assignments, chapter quizzes. And extra credit. Do the work and get an A!!
I took her class at VALENCIA! She is great!! her reviews really help for the exams so dont miss review days!!
Nice, easy A class...if you do the work. The book is a good read, chapter reviews & quizzes, project & final. And FYI: Professors don't make profits off sales to their own students. Get the facts before blowing off steam because you aren't happy with your grade. We r in the same class!!
Class is set up so you take 1-2 reviews and quizzes/week. There is a project that was interesting to do and a final. She offers extra credit too. She is very responsive to students and book is actually good. I learned a lot in this class. Highly recommend her!
Definitely need the textbook! You do a chapter review and quiz every week and then one test and a final project at the end! You learn a lot and it's super easy! I would recommend her for an easy A, as long as you to remember to do the work (if it's online).
One complaint: she doesn't provide enough instruction on her SPSS assignments. It is confusing when you aren't sure exactly what she is expecting. If you aren't familiar with SPSS, I would recommend taking this class in person instead of online. Other than that, she is a great professor. Writing assignments, critiques, SPSS and one proposal.
1-2 chapter quizzes a week, straight from the textbook. Do one of the 2 projects offered, very easy. Offers extra credit. point based class
Easy developmental psychology class. 20 extra credit points just for participating with SONA for 2 hours. 1-2 easy quizzes every week. 2 projects, you choose 1. I did the 6 page paper and received a 99100. Don't wait last minute. Final exam is also easy. TAKE HER
Easy class. Weekly quizzes and final are super easy. To get a good grade on the final, do the questions in the book and if you think a question is unfair, tell her! She might throw it out. The only thing I'd consider difficult is her project but thats only because you have to find people to interview. Oh, & she give extra credit for taking surveys.
quizzes, proposal, 2 exams, SPSS stuff, and article reviews. She offers TONS of extra credit (got an A). Answere emails fast and helped when I asked for it. There are TONS of resources in the course to answer most questions. Her grading was clear from the beginning. You had to read the text book and then apply it to real studies and articles.
Her online course was hard. You MUST read the ENTIRE chapter (which are long!) in order to understand questions on the assignments. She combines 3 chapters into 1 test, you cannot move to the next answer wo answering a question, and the questions are not in order by chapters. I had high hopes for this course and ended up failing because of this.
She is really not a very good teacher. She did not actually teach at all. All she does is read the power point presentations. She does not explain SPSS. Most of what I learned I got from YouTube.
Had high hopes but was disappointed. Tests were hard for an online class and questions were at random from the chapters and the wording was extremely confusing. Lots of group projects, papers, and 3 interviews. I am taking an easier professor in the fall. Would not recommend.
Took research methods online. Quizzes, SPSS papers, proposal (easy A), and 2exams (easy). She offers extra credit and answers emails fast. She is clear and sticks to syllabus. Don't ask for exceptions cuz there are none and no late work is allowed. You can work ahead. I'd take hr again. If you do the work you'll pass and maybe ace the class.
This class was the most interesting class I have ever taken! The textbook required was easy to read and engaging. There are quizzes to every chapter and as long as you read, you will pass! One final at the end of the course and a project, which are both fairy easy. Passed with an A!
Online course that had weekly chapter quizzes. Straight from the textbook that she herself wrote. One project that if you put in the effort, you'll do very well.
Online methods class with a group research project. She outlined what she wanted and helped so much! Her weekly posts helped keep our group on task. Easy A if you put the effort. Easy quizzes and exams. Awesome prof! Would take again and again...
She makes a class that can be very difficult and scary straight forward and not so difficult. If you read the textbooks, the tests and quizzes should be fairly easy. There is a group paper that can go either way depending on how well your group mates work together and how well someone in the group can use and understand SPSS. A lot of extra credit.
Online methods class. Quizzes, exams, proposal, and SPSS write ups (watch the videos or you won't do well with these). Plenty of extra credit and if you disagree with your grade she might change it. Would take again!!
I will say this, beware!!! Do not take this teacher, she's no help!! In the Lab that she has no clue of or thinks she does she responds by just saying follow the book. She doesn't respond rapidly to mail, the extra credit papers are long. The test are pretty easy as long as you do your hw. Textbook always needed of course.
Stats online. Weekly online assignments, pretty easy. Labs that are easy and some difficult. Two exams. And up to 40 extra credit points if you do all that's offered. Extra credit got me an A. She's nice and replies to emails in a day or so. Don't procrastinate. She doesn't like that!
Dr. Wright is an excellent professor. Could not be any more direct. Class consists of reading both books. Quizzes will be from one, midterm and final will be from the other. The research proposal is tough if you've never written one before. Recommended to send it a week or 2 in advanced so it can be reviewed by TA's and resolve mistakes.
Avoid this professor for on-line class!!! You will pay to teach yourself Statistics for Psychology. There were numerous postings in discussion section, with students trying to figure out 'Mind Tap' and SPSS. She does not respond quickly, and leaves all of "her" grading to TA's. She referred class to online videos, rather than teach or explain:(
took stats online during the summer. can work ahead. chapter quizzes, exams, and easy A lab assignments. she responds fast to emails, is flexible with students, and offers extra credit. summer session isn't over yet but I'm done with the class and have an A.
How do you pass research methods? Take it online with her. follow instructions and stay on schedule. she's helpful, answers emails, and wants you to pass. I just aced the research proposal and will probably get an A.
I cannot stand this class. I love statistics and rely on my own understanding of the math and stats to get by. The book format is awful and not user friendly. The reading assignments and busy work assignments are extremely boring. Sometimes the bullets in the book are a decent reference. One week you will have max of 10 points then the next like 50
Online in the summer. Mindtap assignments for each chapter thay were so-so. they weren't hard just time consuming. and the points were different for each ch. a midterm and final, both easy. SPSS quizzes that were easy as long as you turned in the output. and a research proposal. follow the rubric and example and you'll do fine. respfronds fast.
intro class online. chapter quizzes, exams, final, and research requirement. can take quizzes twice. read the book and you'll ace the class! emails back fast and sends messages about grades to keep you on track. she's friendly and gave us free research points at the end. easy A
Professor Wright is great. Her class is easy as long as you stay on top of reading and taking the weekly quizzes. She is very nice and keeps you updated on your progress. The class was interesting and the book is written by her. You NEED the book! Everything comes straight from it.
She's really funny, but her lectures are just boring. She lectures straight from the textbook and the only reason you need to go to class is for your participation grade (she uses an app). The 3 exams are online but the final is cumulative 150 questions in person. I wish the tests were in person so we know what to expect for the final.
Intro class. Lecturers are ok and she tries to make them interactive. She's funny, cares for students, and responds to email fast. 3 online exams (quizlet), sona stuff, reef in class, dept final, and in class cumulative final wit 100 questions. Would Def take again!
Do not take this class. There are 400 students and all she does is read off a powerpoint all class every class. We do Reef app for participation and sona studies. There is 3 online tests and 1 in class final. There are not many grades so you need to do well on the tests. The book helps a lot even though its not mandatory. You have been warned
400 student class. Graded on 3 online exams, lowest dropped. In class Participation using an app on the phone, research stuff, online department final, and in class final. Lectures were ok. I liked when we raised a kid, diagnosed people with drug use and disorders. And I liked the psy myth t/f questions and her life examples. She's nice and cares.
Dr. Wright is a great Professor. She is very structured, read chapter, then quiz, one final that cumulative but gives you study guide with all question, one project (you chose from 2). Always emails back and give you feedback. Gives tons of extra credit! Will be taking her again in the summer!!! Not an easy A but a simple one and way worth it!
I've been at UCF for three semesters and by far, Dr. Wright is my favorite. She always tries to make her lectures interesting by telling personal stories and she has a great sense of humor. Grades are based on 3 online tests, an in class final, participation, and SONA points. She also gives A LOT of extra credit. Very fair with grades.
This woman is awesome! 3 online exams, participation, sona, dept final, and in class final. She gave a great study guide for the final and ended up giving the class over 20 points for that exam. Tons of extra credit. She REALLY cares for her students but isn't a push over. No means no. But she's fair, consistent, funny, respected, & smart.
Supposedly this class has a low pass rate and is one of the more intimidating classes for social science majors. Dr. Wright made a very intimidating class manageable and simple. Research proposal seems scary but isn't that bad and she is a relatively simple grader. Lots of quizzes so read the textbooks! I didn't use the "optional" textbook.
Dr. Wright is solid to have. She is very lecture heavy and requires participation (10% of grade), though it's not too verbatim and is quite interesting. She is generous to put our wallets ahead of the standard among profs and uses REEF which is cheap. Tests are online, but mind you is pretty much your grade along with the final. Curved the final.
Dr. Wright is a great professor, she really knows her stuff. However, she tends to get off track sometimes and it can take a long time to get through the lectures. She uses a polling app for participation so if you don't come, it will impact your grade. 3 exams and a final but she drops the lowest exam and quiz scores. Easy A and all tests online.
Dr. Wright is awesome! Shes kind of funny and included movies in her lecturs. She includes real world examples and talks about her own experiences. Online quizzes and exams (lowest dropped), attendance app, dept exam and research stuff. She answers emails fast and is approachable, friendly, and cares for students.
Loved her! Do the work and its an easy A. Shes funny and cares for students. I liked her real life examples in her lectures and the video clips. And I love how she talks about her children. What an inspiration!
She's awesome! Just read what others have said; she cares for her students, and the assignments will not bog you down. Just do the readings, and take the quizzes (out of 2 attempts). Extremely fair grader, so an enjoyable class.
Very easy class. All the answers can be found on Google. I took one class once a week at 6-9 PM. It may seem like a long time, but the prof does let you take a break around 7-7:30 for about 10 mins for a bathroom break or a quick run to Starbucks. Attendance is mandatory through the REEF app and the textbook is an easy read.
definitely recommend taking this course online!! all that you have is a weekly quiz (sometimes 2 quizzes), the sona participation, and the department final. all of the quiz and final answers are on quizlet, and you are given a ton of time to complete your sona points. super easy class!
Boring and rude. Honestly, she was rude to a few of the people who had problem with the class polling thing. They raised their hands politely to ask and she just waved them off sarcastically. All exams are online and can be found on quizlet. Easy A.
I really liked her and arent sure when she was rude or talked about white women unless that was ch 1. I took her fall 17 and there was almost 400 in the class. Quizzss, exams, reef, sona. Thats it. She was super nice and her lectures were funny. Always available after class and willing to help if you ask. Do the work and go to class and get your A
By far, the worst professor I've had at UCF. An easy A if you're willing to read the textbook. Don't expect to learn much from the lectures bc all she does is read from a script, which is unnatural and hard to follow. Grades you on attendance but doesn't make the lecture worth listening to. Social psych is interesting.. she makes it boring.
I loke the class. The assignments are easy if you read the book. I like the iat tests and discussion the most. Her lectures ok. She told us its her first time teaching the class with that many students (400). But you can tell shes put effort in her lectures. Plus she had a bad cold for the first 4 weeks. She tries to add humor and examples.
The whole class is based off of the professors opinion. Lectures are boring and one sided. Multiple people tried to discuss with her their different view points and she flat out ignored them. Easy A all quizzes and tests are online. Lectures are boring, she just reads from the book. Attendance is graded through a polling app.
Clasd has weekly chapter quizzes, 2 exams, and discussions on IAT tests and outgroups. Shes a fair grader and wants all to pass. Let us take the midterm twice after she didnt like that the avg score was a 79. She tries to make lectures interactive in a class of 400 and if you have questions see her during office hours.
Shes great! Class had quizzes, exams, and discussions. Diversity is 1 of her fav topics and shes sprinkled it throughout with the discussions and lecture on diversity topics after. She can be funny and passionate about topics that interest her. Id take her again. Fair grader and cares for students.
Lectures are interesting and sometimes funny. Chapter quizzes (2 attempts, lowest dropped), 3 online exams (lowest dropped), research credit, dept final, and participation points. Shes a fair grader and quizzes are easy (quizlet). Shes nice but dont try to cheat with participation! She wants to be fair to all students!
Go to class. Read the book ans take the easy online quizzes and exams. Shes nice and funny. Easy peasy! Easy A
Professor Wright makes lectures very enjoyable. She finds ways to connect her topics to real life and pop culture. She is a great choice. Grades come from quizzes and tests (online), attendance, and interactive studies. Nothing hard at all.
Online developmental was very easy! She wrote her own book and there are many questions where you can find them in every chapter. Most of your final grade is based off of the quizzes based on her book!
Nice intro to psy class. Chapter quizzes, 3 exams, dept final, research stuff, and class participation. Shes funny and sarcastic and shes pop culture and movie references in her lectures. Shes fun to talk to during her office hours. Replies to emails fast and wants you to pass.
Dr Wright is a fabulous professor! Her lectures are interesting and she is so funny! Great professor who really cares about her students. She responds quickly to emails and will stay after class and speak to any student wanting to chat. TOTAL GEM!!! One of the very best professors at UCF!!!
If you do the assignments you cant fail this class. She likes diversity and want to reduce isms. If you have racial biases or are racist dont take this class. If you do then keep your racist comments to yourself. She will call you out and prove you wrong in front of the whole class. She leaves no room for prejudice in this class. Loved her! Real!
Pro. Wright was a good pro. We had discussion board posts each week (original due Friday) and had to do 4 responses. Two exams, both online (get online book)- 100 questions in 2 1/2 hrs, each chapter had a quiz with 20 questions in 35 min + 2 try's each due on Monday's, highest grade stays. Did reef questions in class- count towards grade.
Going to lectures was not necessary to me, but it was mandatory. It was an easy A, but you HAVE to read the textbook since her questions come directly from there. The quizzes are multiple choice though, but they are timed. We also had to take a lot of IATs and do discussions based on those.
Not the greatest Social Psych professor at UCF. Lots of reading, IAT's once a week, Discussion posts. If you don't read the book you won't pass. She does not teach in class, she reads straight from the book. Super boring class, this subject should have been more interesting but she made it very dull. Takes attendance through polling app (REEF).
Wright knows what she's talking about, but be prepared for major lectures. She uses an iClicker system to count for attendance in class, so show up! Pay attention and take quick notes on EVERYTHING. If all else fails, rent the textbook and use quizlet, but still show up to class and fulfill your requirements.
Everything was online, the attendance polls, quizzes, tests, and answers. Overall a really fun class, she's a hilarious person and has an interesting life story too
Organized class with a respectable professor. There are 15 chapters covered. There are 14 labs (inputting data in SPSS app), 15 quizzes (10 questions each, usually pretty easy), and 3 exams (50 questions each, challenging). The SPSS page at the end of each chapter is the most important page needed for your lab work so be sure to follow it.
Prof Wright is super awesome, she is easy to get in touch with in and outside of class, she also really cares for her students. Her lectures are super clear as well. Her assignments consist of really easy quizzes and surveys/experiments through the SONA system. She gives exams after every few chapters.
Taken over Summer B, fantastic professor. Lectures are funny and filled with pop culture. All quizzes and tests are online, very straightforward and easy. Textbook use encouraged, but I did just fine taking notes in class and not reading. Only annoying part was lectures are mandatory and logged with REEF, which costed $15 for the semester.
I'm an incoming freshmen, I took her over the summer semester which is a 6 week course, I was really nervous but she's very nice and flexible. Attending class is mandatory if you want to receive points (Reef Polling App) but I have a couple friends who barely showed up and still managed to pass with a B. ALL of her quizzes and test are online.
Drops the lowest quiz grade and the lowest exam grade. There's 3 exams all 50 questions each and a quiz for each chapter, all 20 questions each; but here's the catch: they're all online ;) Also, there's immersive research that you can do which is also very fun and interesting. The final department exam is also very easy.
She's funny and is open to class discussion on the topics. Four exams and the lowest is dropped. Weekly discussions on IAT tests, which can be boring because others don't participate.
The class was super easy online. Every week you only had to take a 10 question quiz about the chapter of the week. She posted powerpoints of the chapters that help with the quizzes.
Mrs. Wright was a really good, funny professor. The class was pretty easy, attendance is 3% of your grade through REEF, weekly discussions are with 30% and a few exams worth 67%. The exams are on quizlet and she drops the lowest exam. I would take her again if I could!!
super easy class based on weekly quizzes, immersive research expierence ( just go to studies for an hour or do studies online ) and final exam. Easy A.
Pretty standard class with proper communication between student, professor and TA. Great help and feedback. I actually enjoyed this course. Final paper was an easy write though at the beginning I had high anxiety about it. Passed this class with no problem.
All tests are online. Her lectures are very boring as she reads from the powerpoint. You probably don't need to go to class. She is very verbal about her political views and often hates on our country. Overall, find someone else to take.
She's a great prof. She's funny, sarcastic, and tries to make you laugh in class. She's a fair grader and will help you during office hours if you do. Weekly discussions and online exams.
Class wasn't bad at all. Discussions, exams, and reef. She's kinda funny in class. She's sarcastic and knows her stuff. We had a group me and she joined too and commented. She was helpful, funny, relatable, and sassy.
I loved Dr. Wright as a professor. She was very funny and had very interesting stories to tell. I absolutely HATE psychology but she made it very enjoyable, this class is easily one of the most enjoyable classes I have taken. There is one major project, but it is not difficult at all. Attendance is 3% of your grade and all of the exams are online.
Super easy A. All exams are online, and there were two projects. The latter project was a little more difficult but I still managed to get an A on it. She uses reef to count for attendance but it was only once a week meeting. She is funny and sarcastic in her lectures but she does read from the PowerPoint. Overall I would take her again.
Lectures were straight to the point; she was hilarious and relatable! I'm not too interested in psychology but she made the subject easy. Posts all PowerPoints before the online exams. Final is optional if you took the first 3 tests and are satisfied with your grade. If you participate and put a decent amount of work in, you'll get an A.
This class consists of attendance with the reef app which is a bit annoying, weekly discussion posts and online exams which are exam if you prepare for them. Overall this class is an easy A if you apply yourself.
Discussion posts due every week. There are 4 exams, and the lowest is dropped. She adds class participation to your grade, so you have to show up. Very lecture heavy class, but she does her best to make it fun!
Dr. Wright is really awesome and her class is easy. The only issue I have is with the discussions being 500 words. You can sometimes find yourself repeating, but using different words just to get the points. There are 4 exams and your lowest gets dropped. Participation is about 10% of your grade and you use reef polling for it.
Funny and entertaining lectures! I took this class as a 3 hour lecture on Wednesday nights and the time always went by quickly. Four tests (all online) and two major assignments - the first is really easy and the second takes a little more time. The textbook is helpful for the tests, but not totally necessary. Attendance is done through iClicker.
One of the best professors I've ever had! She makes the lectures very interesting and she is super funny. There are 4 tests overall but the one with the lowest grade is dropped. There are weekly discussions that are pretty interesting. She does a great job of going over the discussions in class and answers any questions. Would definitely recommend.
Dr. Wright is very nice and she is always willing to answer student's questions during and after class. She is very knowledgeable in her field as well. I did find her lectures to be boring though. The information in the lectures felt like they lacked context and elaboration. Good class if you want an easy A. She gives open book assignments.
She is a really nice professor but the class is hard. Her tests are difficult, but you can pass if you study. However, the research proposal is graded so harshly. If you take her, make sure you have a decent grade without the proposal grade because it dropped me one whole letter grade. The class average was a 60%. I think that says enough.
Terrible teacher. I have a 3.7 GPA and am far from stupid but she will make you feel like you are 2 inches tall for just emailing her. I can honestly say this was the worst class and teacher in my entire career at UCF and I only have 5 classes left to take. Be careful following her instructions , you will still get things wrong listening to her.
For this class we had tons of assignments. But, I learned a lot from them and think this class will help me in graduate school. SPSS assignments, chapter quizzes and exams, research writing assignments, and a research proposal. Each is 20% of the grade and the proposal is a long process. Follow her instructions and grading rubrics!
Professory Wright is a great professor and made lectures as exciting as they could be given the mundane info. The course uses launchpad for assessments and has an online book. In class, they use the REFF system and you respond during class. You are not graded on accuracy, however you need to show up to participate to get the points.
I took Professor Wright for Summer B as an incoming freshman. She is a GREAT professor, really funny, and I enjoyed her class. Everything is online, but you need to show up to receive participation points for REEF. Lectures are clear and organized, easy to get in contact with, and extra credit is given towards the end. Perfect intro to psych class.
She's extremely funny and lectures were always fun. Participation is for a grade in which you need to buy a 14.99 app for. Discussions are redundant (1 every week with 4 replies) and can be hard to make word limit of 500. Tests are open book but can be tricky if you don't read the book, gives lots of time though. No extra credit. Just read the book.
Just a few words. this class was like a 3 hour session of stand up comedy each week. Nuff said!!
Hands down the funniest prof I've ever had. 4 online, open-book exams and 2 easy papers/projects. She also gives us the PowerPoints for everything and NONE of the exams were cumulative (meaning there's no final). She has office hours Thursday afternoons, but her presentations were so clear that I almost never went. Easy A so long as you show up.
You have weekly readings and quizzes to take, as well as GEP essays to write. Make sure to space the essays out so you don't get slammed with 3 papers due in the same week! They're fairly easy essays and the quizzes and exams are also easy.
Such an easy and great class. Dr. Wright was always accessible on the GroupMe and answered any questions as soon as possible. Id recommend her to anyone looking to take Psych.
I took her for the summer and we only had weekly 10 question quizzes. Never had an exam in her class except the final exam. It was not difficult. The only thing is that each quiz is timed for 30 minutes and some questions are difficult but if you pay attention in class it was easy. Lectures are funny and interesting. Clicker questions count.
Dr. Wright makes psychology easy to learn. I flunked out of Psychology a few years back, but she made learning the material relevant and fun. She shows a lot of pop-cultural reference videos in class. All exams and quizzes online. Took her three hour lecture, made it not only tolerable but ENJOYABLE. Take her! You won't regret it!
I had her for class when coronavirus hit. She was on it immediately. Some of my other profs dont care! She emailed allnupdates before we came back from spring break. She was flexible and understanding. She held an optional zoom weekly. She showed she cared about her students and wanted them to pass! Class had quizzes, exams, and research stuff.
Straight forward class. The online format is very simple just don't forget to complete the Immersive Research Experience.
If you are good at reading or like to read this class is for you. This class is awful to take online though. You only have quizzes and tests on the chapters along with a project at the end and that is your final grade. There isn't many assignments at all, but you will have to read and study a lot to get good grades on all the quizzes/tests to pass
I took this class during summer B, which is 6 weeks long and the content was very straight forward, ALL you have to do is read the chapters, STUDY, and you'll do just fine on the quizzes.
I took this class online for summer B and it wasnt bad. Yes, you will be reading a lot so be ready. I did it with a full time job, so its manageable. There is a quiz after each chapter and 3 exams on multiple chapters. Most of her quiz and exam questions you can find on quizlet, but still try to do the work. The professor herself is sweet :)
I would recommend taking this class in the fall or spring. The class itself has a lot of information and with this professor it means LOTS of reading. The good thing is that the quizzes and exams were harder than the final so I felt over prepared.
Dr. Wright is awesome! Use groupme to be accessible. Shes friendly but firm and sticks to course policies. Quizzes, exams, discussions, and a paper. Idk what class the other person was in but they cant read emails. She moved an exam because it was messed up. And she didnt get a C for a funeral. Reading is needed to pass any class.
If you can read, memorize, and apply content by yourself then take this class. Prof. Wright is very knowledgeable about but taking this class as a W course means that you have to teach yourself. She does offer video lectures but they are basically regurgitations of the book content. VERY test heavy and a lot of applying your knowledge questions
Dr. Wright was great and a very dedicated professor! Gave about 2 weeks to complete each module. Lots of reading though to keep up with the 2-3 chapters in each module. Gave good extra credit if you did the work to get the credit. Class was only online b/c it got moved to remote instruction. I would definitely take a class with her again!
Dr. Wright is one of the best professors I have had at UCF. She is super funny and explains the content we learn in a relatable way, so it's easier to understand. Grades consist of 4 exams (lowest dropped), 14 quizzes one for each chapter(lowest dropped), 4 discussions, and an article critique. There are also 2 opportunities for extra credit.
Course was pretty easy; however, make sure you do your chapter readings. You will have weekly quizzes so it's mainly CHAPTER QUIZ HEAVY. Exams and quizzes will have both easy questions and application questions. This course and prof will make you teach yourself!
Dr. Wright is a good choice! Her pre-recorded lectures cover most of what is on the exam. Discussions assignments are easy and the Developmental Project is doable and insightful. Attend all her exam reviews and you'll get a big amount of extra credit. The exam reviews are helpful because it covers 90% of what is on the test. She is a caring person!
I took her for psychological measurement. I think in the beginning of the semester she mentioned this was her first time teaching this class in like 15 years and you could tell. There is a semester long project that is very confusing and she does not go over it at all in detail and it is extremely difficult. DO NOT TAKE.
All you have in this online course are exams which are worth 80% of your final grade and 1 project worth 20% of your final grade. Answers are in the book but exams are proctored. Horrible professor. Emailed her a few times and she only responds "Read the book." Exams are impossible she expects you to memorize 120 pages a week for the exams.
This is def not an easy A class. Make sure you read everything. 6 exams with 2 attempts each and tons of practice quizzes. Semester long research project that's interesting but really semester long. 2 extra credits that increased my grade by a letter grade. Prof is strict but funny. I'd take her again.
I am not paying for school to not learn anything and to just memorize specific questions. I was thoroughly disappointed that my learning felt limited in this class. My success was based on how I worked with probability, not my effort toward learning the actual material and my attentiveness. That is a waste of lecture and study time.
Didn't interact with the professor much, but make sure to do the lab part (be a participant in experiments or writing papers) on time or you'll be swamped at the end. (CLASS TAKEN SPRING 2020)
Theres nothing that I dislike more than requiring students to buy textbooks for a class and ultimately make students take closed book tests and watch them take it as well. ON TOP OF! Using scenario based questions. 2 full chapters to learn within a week, just for students to be alarmed when they open tests, theres no way. Nice person though.
If you're taking her online Research Methods class, be prepared to really read the textbook. You do your final project as homework assignments every week so that's not too bad but she quizzes every chapter then does a big test every 3 chapters and all of them are proctored. If you can't learn by just reading the textbook, this isn't your class.
I took Dr. Wright because her reviews are pretty positive. However, since taking this course Dr. Wright is a tough grader and will take points off if you don't follow the rubric to a T. (which sounds understandable but I mean REALLY follow it). I read like 3-4 chapters a week, 3 quizzes, and a discussion. It's a lot.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The amount of work is just ridiculous. I have never been in such a demanding class. I realize that it is a summer class and it is accelerated but it is way too much. I think she forgets that people have lives, other classes, jobs, kids, sleeping and eating outside of her class. She needs to reevaluate her teaching style.
WORST PROF EVER! took her online, her lectures have nothing to do with quizzes nor tests. your grade is only through testing. no actual way to raise your grade and practice homework. 4 essays. 4 exams and 1 final exam. DONT TAKE HER!
Completed in the Summer B session (freshman year). You will get an A if you do the practices quizzes multiple times and/or read the e-book. E-book is unnecessary ($75.99). Content: 10 chapter quizzes (weighted 50%), 3 exams (weighted 30%), departmental final exam (weighted 10%), and immersive research experience via the SONA system (weighted 10%).
Took her online. None of the quizzes really have anything to do with the learned material. The workload is pretty heavy, with lots of discussion posts and peer responses. I feel like I haven't learned much. She's a tough grader too for no reason.
This professor really does not do much. She has 10 minute videos every week in which she literally just defines the words from the textbooks and then makes her TAs grade the repetitive and boring discussion posts that follow the same question format every week. Uninspiring and unimpressive.
God have mercy ... I regret taking this professor and I say this with every last fiber within me. Every Friday she puts out assignments. Have other classes? Forget about them because you will feel compelled to study for this professor's weekly assignments and discussion boards. I was excited to take this class, but she paces through it quickly.
Pros: straightforward; just reading (2-3 chapters every 2 weeks), exams (lowest score dropped), and discussion posts; not the most compelling class in the world, but I appreciate how simple this class is. Cons: exams & discussions are your only assignments, so better do well on them! She gives back points if there's something wrong w/ the system.
Took this class for Summer B. It was quite a workload, but with proper time management, you will pass. Practice quizzes are your best friend to prepare. I wish I took this class in the fall or spring because I feel it would be more doable as opposed to cramming all the information into 6 weeks. Chrysalis Wright is very sweet too.
Students are responsible for staying on schedule. Had suggested chapter readings and used pre-recorded lectures. 6 exams and 6 discussions open for 2 weeks with the lowest score dropped. Discussion prompts allowed for broad, open-ended answers. Use study guides and take practice quizzes before doing exams. Easy A with proper time management.
WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD SHE ONLY AVAILABLE WHEN SHE WANTS TO BE DO NOT AND I REPEAR DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER SHE DOES NOT RESPECT HER STUDENT DOES NOT PICK UP HER PHONE HER TEST ARE POORLY WORDED SHE ISNT VERY SOCIABLE DOESNT TAKE ANY CRITICISM AND IS READY TO RUIN HER STUDENTS CAREERS SHE GRADES POORLY AND HAS NO LISTENING SKILLS HORRIBLE
Professor Wright is amazing! Took this class in Spring 2021and her lectures were fun and interactive. There is a lot of information but the practice quizzes are your best friend. Most of the questions repeat on quizzes and exams. There is a SONA participation which is pretty easy. 15 chapter quizzes, 3 exams and a final. Definitely recommend her.
She is okay. We had a group chat, and she basically was allowing and talking negatively about students that "were procrastinating" for not finishing their assignment days before it was due. The students that found it inappropriate were shut down. Some of us have full-time jobs and go to school. If you want it done sooner, then change the due date.
Took this during Summer B. There was a lot of content but I got a 100% on every test. Totally doable and an easy A. Take the practice quizzes 2-3 times before the real test because the test questions are exactly the same as the practice ones, so if you take it a few times, you can get to see any possible questions that are asked.
Dr. Wright is great! Weekly discussions and quizzes, final exam and research proposal paper. With this class you 100% earn the grade you receive. If you're looking for an easy A with little work, look elsewhere because she worked her butt off to get where she is today and will encourage all of her students to do the same.
Dr. Wright is a great professor! She's funny and kind. Every week there is a quiz, I suggest doing the practice quizzes because the quiz can be confusing. There will be a huge research paper that everyone has to do and it is super stressful, but she will guide you in the right direction. Always be on top of your assignments, do not fall behind!
Took this during summer and it was a VERY difficult class. Weekly quizzes, discussions, and a 7-10 page Paper due. However, she was extremely accessible outside of class and is a fair grader. Discussion posts were aligned with what you should be working on during your paper. So it was very easy to complete.
I took this class online and it was fairly easy and a manageable class. As long as you keep up with your work and assignments its kind of hard to fail this class. She gives discussions and quiz's often and only a couple exams. All the work is done on canvas and non proctored which is nice. Overall easy class and pretty decent professor.
16 chapter quizzes (50%) for the course, they all have practice quizzes and if you study those you'll do fine in the quizzes and 4 exams (30%). Department Final (10%) is on a lock down browser. Immersive Research (10%) Sonar is pretty straight forward and easy points. Overall pretty easy course and I would recommend as an online class.
I do not recommend taking her for Sop3004. Her article quizzes are impossible to do well on. She does not use power points and instead uses very few textbook notes. You need the textbook and to be able to teach yourself entirely if you want to learn something. The only good thing is the practice quizzes help a lot to study for the exams.
Very easy online class. Professor was helpful and quick to reply to emails. All assignments are on canvas. There is a simple multiple choice quiz for each module that are easy and that is it. The final was 50 questions and was protcetered. There is a immersive research requirement for this class. I recommend doing the surveys.
Easy GEP, free textbook, understanding professor, quizzes count more than tests or final.
amazing prof that asks for feedback; put in the work and you will be fine
This professor was one of the most strictest professors I have ever taken while completing my degree. I have a full-time job and sometimes sacrifices needed to be made. I suppose asking to be humane and understanding of medical emergencies is not something she believes in. Tough grader, ridiculous workload, and harsh!!!!!! Do not take!!
The practice quizzes do not match what is being tested on the exams. Research article quizzes are weighted that there is no way to get an A if you do bad on even one of them. Everyone had a different practice test and quiz so some people had "easier" quizzes. Would not recommend.
Class was mundane, graded by at least an article quiz a week, wording may be tricky, and 3 comprehensive exams, consisting of 4-5 chapters. Material was easy. Classes were hybrid and only met 3 days the semester with 5 points EC if attended (proof = signing paper at end of lecture). Very accommodating and gave extra time for article quizzes.
only holds "lecture" four times a semester, which is only for exam review. it was a mixed mode class but it was 95% online. all exams and quizzes are online, and you don't have to go to the exam reviews. take her for an easy A in psych, super nice lady :) take this class if u want an online class but dont wanna pay the online fee lol
I think if I would have taken the class in person, I would have received an A. Her class is very well organized, so it is impossible to not know what you should be doing for the week. However, there is SO MUCH READING involved, and you have to know EVERY part of the text. If you are to take this class, I recommend taking Stats for Psych first.
I was really scared to take this course because math is not a strength of mine. The course is well structured making it easy to plan my weeks. I am reading the entire textbook and that is the only thing that is teaching me the material- if that is not a learning style you like, steer clear. 2-5 assignments a week for summer.
Excellent experience! The class essentially revolves around your research proposal paper (she lets you pick your topic). Professor Wright organizes the course in a way that you have an idea of what you should be working on in the paper leading to the due date (you get 9 weeks). She was accommodating and helpful as well! 10/10 course for me.
Easiet class ever, only assignments were 1 quiz/week or exam every 3ish weeks over past 2-3 chapters. Practice quizzes had exact same quiz/exam questions, take twice and gaurenteed 90+%. Immersive research portion was simply just taking a few surverys every 3ish weeks over whole semester, but so quick and easy I got it done in 1st month of class.
A very easy class. The class is laid out by week where there is a quiz every week and an exam every so often after the unit is completed. The quizzes are extremely easy as she has optional practice quizzes that have the exact questions that are on the quiz, and the exams have the exact questions from the quizzes. Overall, an easy A course.
I had Dr. Wright for mixed mode so we met 3 times during the semester for exam review, but everything else was online. She has practice quizzes that consist of actual quiz questions so it's super easy to pass. If you go irl for exam review, she'll give EC if you stay the whole lecture. Super nice person!
Super easy class. The quizzes are super easy and there are practice ones with the same questions. Exams use those same question banks and there are only three total. Drops the lowest quiz and exam. For mixed mode, the in-person review is boring but gives you extra credit. 10% of your grade is from participating in research but it's easy to do.
Professor Wright is awesome! My class was mixed mode but the majority of it was online. Each week consists of one chapter and a quiz. She gives practice quizzes that are very similar to the actual quiz. Very manageable class with a great professor. Free textbook. Immersive Research was another component but is easy as long as you stay on top of it.
easy A
This class with this professor might be better suited for an in-person class, not an online course. It was overwhelming because I felt like I had to teach myself the content & the discussions were the only thing given to reinforce what I learned. They felt too long & needed more time than what was given. The course content was enjoyable, though.
Such an easy class. Weekly HW quiz, lowest dropped. 3 exams, 2 graded. Exams all MC and unofficially open book/note for my mixed mode section. Offered substantial extra credit if you attended in person reviews. Recommend getting the research studies out of the way as soon as possible. I did them all the first week of classes
I don't typically enjoy online courses, but I found this one very interesting. You have to be okay with learning independently, the professor isn't super hands on. If you read and study the textbook and the modules she posts you will be okay on the tests. Discussion posts can be overwhelming, but I felt like I got a lot out of doing them.
Would only have an exam and discussion due at the end of each module (there were 5 in total). Outlines posted were missing a lot of information, but I also referred to an older ebook to fill in some blanks. I felt like outlines could have elaborated more and could have covered important concepts better.
Took this class over the summer, so my experience will be different, but the class was manageable. The lecture quizzes were challenging, but all stemmed from the material given. Exams are based on the quizzes. The beginning of the semester was tough with pacing, but it got easier. Take in all her resources and expand your own.
People seem to complain about her, ultimately that's a failing on their part. This class is very resource intensive yes, but as long as you read the chapter in the textbook every week, and go to the lectures, its pretty hard to do bad in this class. Anyone complaining about the tests simply didn't put an ounce of effort in and wanted a free grade.
Attendance mandatory yet lectures did not help towards exams at all. Not understanding. Only two types of assignments, both very hard. Disliked in general by class. Exam averages very low. Just take another teacher. Uses lockdown for everything, even practice quizzes...
Do yourself a favor and don't take her class. Mandatory attendance for lectures that don't prepare you for exams. Class average for exams are low and the whole class complains about her. Your only grades are exams and article quizzes, lockdown with webcam for both even practice exams. Take any other teacher tbh
This is a very fun content class. She seems difficult but she really isn't. Yes exams and quizzes are proctored, but nothing too difficult. The article quizzes are very easy. The first exam was really hard and everyone failed, she then changed exam questions format and allowed 2 attempts. If you read the chapters you'll be good. Very easy class
I absolutely loved this class. Learned tons of thing that'll be applied to my career. Read the chapters, articles, and participate using IClicker. There'll be a lot of reading and you have to put a lot of time into this class so if you enjoy the topics, you will do all the work without feeling like it's work. otherwise, you might be screwed lol
The class includes 4 exams with 1 dropped. At first banned highlighting research papers and then allowed it after feedback. She adjusted her rules mid-semester, making attendance mandatory and allowing a second chance on the first exam after poor results. You can get an A, but her communication can be unclear, and her sarcasm may be off-putting.
Don't take this class man. She uses lock down browser with webcam. It's so hard to find stuff through her webpage and gets confusing know what you need to do. She also VERY OBVIOUSLY leans one way politically and does not hide it all which I find as an extremely weird thing to do as a doctored professor. (she's VERY pro life)
I am not a reader, but this textbook was amazing- felt less informational & more like a personal conversation. Professor's instructions for each assignment are clear. Discussion posts weekly that accumulate into a final essay. Very easy if you do the work each week. Exams are based on the book and are easy if you read the chapters. 100% recommend
It was mostly tests with discussions for one overarching project. In my time with the class, no one got a 100, and the averages were always in the 70s, so tests were basically impossible to do well, even if you did know your stuff. Tests are weighted heavily, and the lowest grades are dropped, but for me, that did not make a difference.
I would not be surprised if Dr. Wright is, in fact, a great lecturer for in-person classes. That being said, in my section, she was hardly involved at all, only providing exam "study guides" that were just vocabulary words that could easily be found in the book. She didn't even give the definitions either lol. Not a fit for me.
Very reasonable and drops the lowest grades of multiple assignments at the end of the semester. Depending on the course, attendance wasn't always mandatory, but very helpful on quizzes.
Entire course was taught through the textbook with no input from the professor. Discussions are 60% of your grade. Exams are about 50 questions, lockdown browser + webcam. Questions are on obscure, random lines from the LENGTHY chapters. If you enjoy living in a textbook and receive no teaching from the professor, take this course. Do not take.
Save yourself. Class had 2 exams (lockdown + cam) along w/ vague questions. You will have to complete 10 SONA points which isn't bad but tedious. Horrific grader and takes off points for things she never mentions in the assignment. Heavy grader on word count but never says how many she wants. Acts like this GEP is the miltary. Don't trust the 4.0..
I highly recommend this professor! Very straightforward class. Just get ready to read, and prepare for weekly quizzes.
Honestly such an easy class. There is a quiz every week, but she has practice quizzes that are basically the quizzes. The exams are all basically the quizzes, so very easy. Only thing is there is a discussion post almost every week and they are long and got to respond to 4 people for half of it to count. But one gets dropped.
I took the online class. It is a lot of reading but the assignments are pretty easy. The discussions are an easy A if you follow her instructions. Exams are proctored so you need to read the textbook. The final was an easy essay. She graded things pretty quickly.
I would have preferred to take ths class in person I think. The book was a good read. Assignments were only discussions and exams. For the discussions you need to remember to post the answer first and then a few days later do the peer replies. She also checks the word count. Exams were multiple choice and recorded. The final was just a paper.
This professor turns psychology from a simple and typically interesting subject into pure busy work and time wasting. She genuinely expects you to spend hours memorizing every bit of content from the textbook and will give questions on such random irrelevant topics on her exams from that textbook that her canvas summaries are totally unrelated to.
I wouldn't recommend taking her. There are 50 questions tests with only 1-2 weeks to cover 2/3 chapter with questions that are worded wierdly. Each discussion requires 500 words which is exhausting and she does take of points if you didn't submit by required dates. Final paper is easy but only worth 5% of the grade so not much of a boost.
On the very first week of class, I received an email from professor Wright that I had not submitted a discussion post that was due on the 14th (TWO DAYS after the first day of class), when the due date listed on the syllabus, assignment page, and gradebook was the 18th??? Furthermore, the chapter summaries and discussions are FAR too lengthy.
I took the course last semester. It was pretty easy with discussions and some exams. Just make sure to read the book
Took this summer A. Professor Wright is great and gives good feedback. She responds fast and is very helpful with questions. 5 exams w/ lockdown + webcam and 5 discussion posts. Exams aren't too bad if you read and take good notes. All discussion posts lead to a final group project, which I wasn't a big fan of cause I took this online.
The class had a group project and exams. The book was good and online notes helped. What makes her difficult is that she proctors and reviews all exams. She also has it set up so that if you slack some you'll lose points on the project. Just follow her rubrics and actually do this class. You'll easily pass if you do it. I ended with a B.
Only a few assignments, but they are all easy As as long as you follow the instructions, the tests are incredibly easy as long as you study for them. Nice teacher and interesting lectures, solid class.
I don't know if it was because I took an online class, but I did not think the professor was good. She took forever to respond to emails, and when she did was very curt and dry. The discussion posts were super annoying, 500 words, 4 peer responses and they were due by Wednesday. The tests and quizzes were easy, but I would not take her class again.
Took this over summer and we met only once a week so it wasn't terrible. Very long lectures which you have to attend because she will add things she says into the tests so be sure to pay attention . Overall not a bad class everything was pretty clear and there wasn't much extra work. Each week was pretty much the same so you'll know what to expect.
I took the class in spring 25. Its a pretty straightforward and easy class. Just follow the schedule and rubrics. Also, she adds in questions on exams from lecture so make sure you dont miss those.
great class overall, the class assignments are a lot tbh. the ta's lowkey have attitude ngl.
simple class just do ur work on time, the discussion posts close at 6pm.
Such a great class! The quizzes and exams (final is non-cumulative) are often directly from practice quizzes allowing unlimited attempts. The often weekly discussion posts require the original response at 6pm and 4 peer responses for full credit. However, Dr. Wright was very respectful, I would easily take again!!
