Terrible... changes assignments without warning... unfair grader. Terrible... shouldn't be teaching graduate courses.

u can never read her notes and she has an accent so between the notes and the way she talks...good luck w/her
she changes assighments w/o letting you know ... just raise ur hand a lot in class and you get an easy A ... longs she like syou your fine ... she's really not hard .. u get to bring in note cards for tests!!!!! ... she's easy but annoying to deal with!
This professor is an unfair grader! When asked for help she refused. Changed assignments several times during the semester.

Excellent teacher, we need more of these! Always lets you know exactly what she wants on her tests, and allows you to bring notecards. Facilitates interesting discussions in class that are on topic. If you want to learn, take her class!

I saw the ratings and was worried when I started, but I must say I thought she was pretty good. Excellent in the classroom. Tests are moderate-to-easy, papers are simple regurgitations of the text. But beware-she changes deadlines,etc, very arbitrary.
i had her this class. She was really easy. she let us us a note card on test and our final was optional. I thought she was really easy as long as u did your work.

Had her for adult & child psych-although she is legally blind, it doesn't affect her teaching, b/c her teaching style leaves a lot to be desired. Easy B or A-let's u have take home essays, just bring other work to class as she sits and mumbles w/ her greek accent. Good time to get other work done.
She is a terrific professor. She's kind, understanding, sensitive, and truly well informed. Compared to other professors in her department, she is an intellectual. You earn your grade in a department known to give them away. She's A++!
To the person who said she's an "intellectual," y don't u do literally 30 pg reports for her at least 2wice in her class, then get back to me. Ask anyone in that class, and they will say the same thing i did-tedious and very unnecessary work. Doesn't clarify anything....
I dont understand what the problem is..shes gives the information, we learn it, but still95% of the class fails. Theres a problem when the top three students are averaging a C if they are lucky. Plus her 10pg report is ridiculus. She also shows alot of favoritism. I wouldn't reccomend her at all!
She is the worst teacher I have ever had in life!! She's always changing how she grades, which is based on her feelings about you, and she does not care about her students at all. A petition even went around to get her to stop teaching. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to have her! SHE'S TERRIBLE!!

She is horrible. I am a straight A student and didn't do well on the first test. She teaches material that is not even on the test. You need to read the book or you will fail. The notes that she provides are extensive but don't cover nearly what is on the test. Very unclear!
very unclear about the tests, and the information that she is relying to the students. She is also very confusing in the way the she attempts to teach the information. i didn't really learn anything for this class.
Dr. F is very unclear, her notes and teaching style are less than engaging-there's a reason y there r so many poor ratings about her. students have actually taken the initiative to get her fired-would you call someone like that a "scholar?" of course not. i've never learned anything from her class.
Dr.F is the best professor. It's funny students give her bad ratings because they had to read the book for the test. I took 2100 amd 2110 Psy and I EARNED A in both classes. She makes you work but it's fun work and you learn too. She helped me learn to study and write papers. I am grateful to her.
I had her for several classes, & not by choice, very unclear/unhelpful. I haven't learned a thing from her, her teaching style and accent def. does not help either. Definitely favors boys. Many complaints have been made to the dean of psych. a/b her-there's a reason for that-don't take her class.
She's a great professor. I had her for two different classes and did well in both. Read materials before the class and participate.
PLEASE do not take her. Take my advice, the tests make no sense and she doesnt teach anything that is on it. The final paper ends up being 30 pages. She is rude and shows favoritism, do yourself a favor and drop the class if you get her. A second petition has been sent around about her!!!

Do not take her! Lectures and writes on board full class time. Three take home tests & one 10-15 pge article review. Work load was tremendous for grad course. Pleasant/helpfull 1 on 1. Seems to get confused and gives u wrong directions in class. Badgers/bullies students to participate. Stressful!
Do not take this professor. She gives 2 multi-choice take home tests. The questions are so hard to find the answers to. It took me 8 hours to finish the first one. The article review is confusing because she wants it a certain way, but when you go to her and ask for help she is unable. She also shows a lot of favoratism towards male students.
She comes across ok but on test review, she says she'll spell it all out, memorize everything and find out only 10% of what you studied is on the test. Tell her what she made you study was not on the test and what was on the tesy she didnt mention, she gets defensive. Not helpful & unreasonable.
Very unclear teaching methods. Class was not fun at all. Teachers style was not proper. Tests are totally different. Do not recommend.

Undoubtedly the worst professor I have ever had. Even though it was a couple years ago, I still have nightmares about it. Didn't get a syllabus until week 5, long term assignments changed from week to week. I think she had a grudge against us because we complained. We were supposed to only have a 15-20 page paper to do. We ended up taking a 350+ item MC test, and a 30 page paper, all assigned to be done within 4 weeks on stuff she didn't teach. Stay away from her.
class is pretty bad unclear about what she wants in her paper one time gave me the wrong exam and she realize after i was done and made me take the right one than on another exam the scan tron had the last 10 answers wrong and she had to regrade it she could be a nice person shes just a bad teacher
She can’t teach at all! You can’t understand what she is saying, and you can’t even understand what she writes in the board. The exams are difficult because she only covers a part of the chapter in the class, so you have to study and understand the whole chapter by your self.Don’t even try her because you are going to loose your time.

no people skills, no teaching skills, and by far the rudest professor i have come in to contact with. she actually called one of my classmates an immigrant. no material on tests was covered in class and assignment outlines changed every class. why is my our tuition money still paying her salary?
Had this class awhile ago but wanted to add my two cents. This was the worst professor I have ever had. She changed the syllabus several times and was clearly angry with us after several people complained to the department head. Didn't cover anything that was on the exam instead talked about how her pets pissed on the floors all the time. Horrible!

ok, look, DO NOT take this professor she gives notes that contadict what the book says, she has her grad student grade the thesis, randomly gives pts to her favs. if u are stuck with her class tell her you are Greek, say tikanis:hello or cadymeda:good morning and u will atleast pass if not get good grades, its been done
All I have to say is why and how is this women a teacher? There has been numerous complaints about her, I don't see how she is still allowed to teach..
It's too bad no one appreciates this woman is going blind and all she wants to do is help you become better at understanding children. She teaches you how to listen and feel things through your heart than to see them with your eyes. I have learned more from this class getting a C+ than any other PSY course getting an A. Tough course, def. worth it!
SPEAK UP IN CLASS!!!! Participate participate participate!!! That is the key. She gives 2 take home multiple choice exams, 1 open ended short essay final which is NOT really short.. And 1 major paper to write at the end of the term. She is fanatical about that paper, but as long as she likes you, you will do fine!

Horrible teacher, doesn't give the final grade on what you actually earned in class but rather what she feels like giving you. Even her T.A. doesn't understand her grading policy. Test questions are straight from the book but then she says the book is wrong when you show her. There are numerous complaints about her and for good reason, horrible!!!
EVIL. that's the nicest way to describe her. Do Not take her!! She called half the class her "smart side", yells when people follow along with the text, and threatened to fail my paper if I missed ONE of her classes for a family vaca. She's horrible, I dont know how she's allowed to teach.

Dont Take her! Tests are very hard unless you spend 2 weeks studying from the book. She says one thing and the book says something different all the time. never know what to study.. she never reviews.. puts chapters never discused in class on the tests.

Probably the worst professor i have ever had. At first I thought she was nice, so i disreguarded the bad comments here about her. However, as time went on i came to realize that she is rude, her tests are tricky and she does not budge even if you show her in the book, she has the last word, and she is not fair what so ever. You will have no idea where you stand prior to getting your grade. She is unpredictable and if you can--- RUN as fast as you can or DROP ASAP! No need to put yourself through this torture.

Took her for a grad level class - one of the worst professors I have ever had. Rude, curt, disorganized, unavailable for the students, and a syllabus that constantly changed. Had no idea what my grade was until it was posted! Run as fast as you can - and DROP her if you get her.
She is the worst prof Ive have had. She does give take home tests, but they take 8-16 hours to complete, tells you to come in for xtra help, but will make you sit for 45 min before she will see you. She has you read this book, yet doesnt go over all the material, just what she likes. If you are required to take this class. be prepared. Its painful

She is extremely knowledgeable and will work with you as long as you put in 100%- if you don't read the assignments given (and there are alot!) she will make an example out of you- so the work and she will help you if you are trying/helping yourself- hard but worth it
I had this Professor for Chils Psyc and yes she was a thorn in my side but to comment on one of the other comments the reason why she does not grade her own papers is bc she is legally Blind so those little scantron sheets she can not see and which is why there is black marker over them so they will not get changed

This teacher was very boring. I have take psych class in college and in highschool having 3 different teachers all were i earned a A. I came to this class and she was impossible. She does not teach anything she makes the class a discussion of the readings from the book. Do not take her unless you are willing to teach yourself the material.
I am not sure why this woman still has a job. I took her in the summer- it was a nightmare. Her personal hygiene is horrible, she teaches things that disagree with the text, and the tests are impossible. The only way to pass to use the study guide that comes with the book- you cannot count on her to teach. She should retire.

If you absolutely need to take her class and you cannot drop, then kiss up to her and speak a lot in class. Doesn't matter what you say. Her TA will be grading your written papers, not her. HER TESTS ARE VERY DIFFICULT. She favors students and her grading policy is VERY SHADY. I earned an A and received a B. She really should find a new professin.
I took her for Child Psychology. Her tests were a bit difficult, but she is not as bad as everyone is making her out to be. Participation is key in her class, if you participate she will definately note that in your grade. I learned a great deal in her class, I worked hard, and I got an A. She is very willing to help students if they ask.
I guess i lucked out with this class. She is legally blind and didnt have a grad assistant to grade her papers..so we had no tests..just simple presentations and a big interview presentation at the end of the semester..it was alot different then all the other classes she taught...but it was extremely easy!

One of the best experiences I had throughout my entire college career. I am finishing up my masters and I was always warned to not take her but I did and I was extremely impressed. She is extremely knowledgable of the subject. Will learn in her class. If you work for her she will work for you. Give her a chance because she deserves it!

An amazing, gifted, educator. As she teaches, Dr Fantaousakis applies the very theories she is teaching. If you are smart enough to understand what she is up to, you will appreciate how skillfully she pulls this off. She manages to monitor each individual student?s level of understanding (Vygotsky?s zone of proximal development), neglecting no one.

I LOVED this prof! Yes she is a bit hard 2 understand nd she duz expect a good deal frm u, but she is treating u as adults nd expects u 2 act as such. If u read the chps take notes nd participate in class there is no reason u shouldn't pass the course. Evrything on the tests r given 2 u...all u have 2 do is show up 2 class nd u'll kno where 2 look.

I came into this class thinking that this teacher was going to be great,easy,helpful, and none the less fun but the only fun things in this class were the students .they were all cool. This teacher is by far the worst teacher I have ever had! Tests are very hard, don't even bother studying you'll still fail! Run away now before you regret it!!!!!!

If you miss 6 classes you Fail period. I took another class (philosophy) where I missed that amount and got an A on my midterm and my final and an A in that class. But Professor F is mean, horrible and overall rude.She has favorites and favors them. I got C's on all my work no matter how hard I studied.I read all the chapters multiple times...

I did my interview q & a, my final test where I did very poorly and my paper was D level she said.NEVER in my college life did I ever get so low of a grade on a paper.Those I do very well.Ironically, a friend of mine was a favorite of hers.He got the same gradese as me,never missed class & copied 95% of my paper.....
Like I was saying...So I sent my friend my whole paper and he re-edited parts,but used a lot of the same paragraphs not changing anything. She failed me and passed him. SHE NEEDS TO GET ANOTHER PRFOESSION...NO wonder you went to a school for the "retarded" when you were younger...
She picked on me and used me in examples.When she wasn't happy with me and was teaching a lesson she would stare at me and everyone would look at me. I had difficulty in her class because it was so hard and its only a 2000 level.I told her some family problems I was truly having and cried.She made it seem like she cared but was smiling!
Grad Class. She is greek and Legally blind. In her class she writes a lot of notes that are later on the test. At first w/all the reviews thought she was mean, however is really nice. What a waste of time. First class the professor told us to interview each other and sat for 45 minutes while she wrote notes to herself. She had a student read the syllabus word for word - very dull. Lots of chit chat in class, no focus on the material, which I was really looking forward to. She is terrible.
This course was a requirement and she is the ONLY professor who teaches it. She is an awful and ineffective professor. She picks favorites which is odd at a graduate level and if she decides she doesn't like you- you will know. Exams are take homes with tricky questions that do not really test your knowledge or application of the subject matter.
This class is only a sophomore level class and she teaches it like a Grad class. Her exams are kinda hard especially the 15 page paper you have to write. Even with the explanation she gave us more then half the class was confused as to what she wanted and sometimes she doesn't use the class time properly. If you can, STAY AWAY FROM HER.
I just took her Adolescent Psychology course and she really ISN'T all that bad. She expects you to do work and study, which you should do since you're in college. Work hard and you'll do well. Slack off and you'll complain that she's a bad professor.
The text she makes you get is a different version from where she takes her exams from. If she doesn't agree with you then you are wrong. Don't take her she fails half the class.

She was an awesome professor. People just didn't like the fact that she gives you a paper to write. Exams are a breeze as long as READ THE TEXTBOOK, which I found to be interesting. I got an A.
Tests based on the book not her lectures. Make sure you participate a lot in class if you want a good grade. She is always willing to help if you go to her office hours. This class is not easy but she is not as bad a prof as others make her seem.
After seeing her rating here, I was dreading her...but shes not nearly the evil prof folks on here are claiming. She has a diff personality than most profs but shes mostly sweet and funny. Grade comprised of 4 tests, so I can see how people will struggle if they're not good test takers. Lectures are interesting.Tests are common sense questions.

Not clear on explanation of assignments at all. Expect a paper due every week along with reading. We would have to re-read what she assigned for homework in class, which was a waste of time. She sends you the pdf of each book and expects you to print the entire thing. Don't walk out of class early, she notices. Get on her good side, good luck!
She has been falling asleep during presentations now for over a year based on other reviews. When is enough enough? I have lost faith in the school's commitment to "excellence" having someone so offensive and unprofessional on staff. She has used extremely offensive language and offended women, and every religion. She does not know the subject.
I really wanted to like her because she seems to care but she really subjects you to her personal belief system and sort of teaches whatever she wants. Because college is expensive I Would like to come away with more than just what I could get from attending a meeting at the ethical society. If you are shy or insecure be sure to take someone else
I don't know what else to say except for absolutely horrible. Falls asleep during movies that she puts on, during presentations, and while people are reading out loud books she assigns. Lectures and lessons have nothing to do with the class subject. Can't understand her at all. Assigns busy work that we won't get back graded for weeks. Never again.
Everyone below clearly isn't prepared to take a college course and probably needs to graduate high school. Anyways, I took her as a graduate required course. She is a very demanding teacher, however, she does give you a syllabus and what she expects out of you up front. Participating is a must!
Worst professor ever. Very offensive and demeaning. Cuts you off when you speak and only assigns busy work. Didn't learn much from this class at all.
Ok, so after reading the reviews all the bad reviews I thought to myself, she can't be *that* bad, and after a few weeks I realized she could. She'll say one thing but want another, she's not clear. There are no test but there's a lot of reading and writing about personal stuff, and sometimes you have to read what you write so if you're shy, run
Taking her class I knew from the beginning I was in for trouble. She talks about her past a lot. Her tests are straight from the book, listening to her in class is useless BUT attendance is mandatory. She's rude and doesn't hold her tongue in class, and falls asleep during all presentations. I have to take the class over like a bunch of others
She's vindictive, rude and completely insensitive. The only way to pass her exams is to read the book thoroughly because her lectures are not at all reflected on the exams. Don't miss class under any circumstances, she doesn't even accept doctors notes or family death certificates as excuse for being out. If you can avoid her, do it.
I really like her. She is a tough teacher but she is a sweet person who has endured a lot in her life.
If Prof Fantasoukis offered this class in a coffee house with no homework or grade I'd take it again. Shes a really nice lady just with a lot of unrealistic expectations. Read a ton of terrible New Age Spiritual charlatans and had to attempt to apply it to the real world. Work load was insane, more work in this class than my other classes combined.
I wouldn't recommend this professor at all. I have a 2hr 45min class and she doesn't give a 15 min break which you are supposed to have. She is not clear on what she wants due on certain days and there is a lot of homework and essays. Also she is really passive aggressive. I guess the only good thing is no tests.
I was giving this professor a chance since she was assigned to class a week before the semester started so I didn't want to drop, biggest mistake ever. This was a free elective for me and it was more work than any of the other classes I took this semester. I would never take a class with Professor Fantasoukis again. I have never been more stressed
If she says do 2 pages, and you do 1.5 pages, you get a 0. As a deans list student, I have never been subjected to such proposterious grading criteria as this woman follows. She gives unclear parameters on assignments and is eager to give out zeros and bad reviews to coaches if your an athlete. Take a different professer to avoid the headache.
If I can give her a 0 rating I would. I strongly recommend you take another professor unless you enjoy being bored to death for 2 hrs and 45 min straight about non sense. Lots of repititive work and blabber about the same thing every class. Save yourself the aggravation, tears and pain by choosing a different professor. Not an effective teacher.
This professor is very rude, and is always ready to make you feel like your questions are stupid. She's always talking about herself. I would NEVER take her again..
Gives no extra credit. Forces you to share deep stories in order to connect to the classmates. Must participate and be present. Going to be a long semester. Lots of homework. WARNING
I have her now. Very rude, will cut you off in the middle of a sentence, does not like the answers the class gives even when we repeat from the book, give take home home exam which takes over 6 hours to complete, lectures are dry but that is to be expected. Do not ever take this professor.

This lady is tough take anyone else to be honest. Right from the first class she was a piece of work. I took her this spring and her class was honestly the worst I've had. She is very eccentric and doesn't compromise. Every class was a presentation which I don't think should be legal. The only good thing I can say is that she forced you to reflect.

She is a horrible horrible professor! her grading system is ridiculous! you must cite everything basically or else she accuses you of plagarism! papers are ridiculously long especially poster presentations that have 6 page papers with it. makes us do 3-10 page papers to make up "lack of participation"
Dr. Fantasoukis is a great professor! She is not made for students who expect to get by doing the absolute minimum. She sets you up for success if you follow her syllabus and communicate with her! Don't expect to sit in class on your laptop or your phone and not participate, you will not do well. Her class challenged me and I actually learned.
This professor is not for the weak-minded! Be ready to do work and PARTICIPATE!! All of these negative ratings on Dr. Fantasoukis are extream, and I am sure come from students who are not willing to be challenged or accept criticism. I would take her again, and recommend her to students who actually want to learn something!
This class was unnecessary. The amount of work was unnecessary. The title of this course is misleading. Professor Fantaousakis found it necessary for all students to be raw and share their emotions. At one point she was upset because no one in our class had cried. The workload is heavy and she changes assignment instructions all the time. JUST DONT
She is very unclear in what she wants and does not explain things to you except repeating the same thing over and over and interrupting you. I would not take her again the workload is HEAVY especially for an elective and since nothing is explained you really have to figure it out on your own. Do yourself a favor and take literally any other person
Prof. Fantasoukis is not like most professors, she will challenge you and make you think outside your comfort zone. You have to put in the work and communicate, JUST ASK she will explain! Her classes are not for everyone if her class is elective for you don't do it unless you are going to work for your grade.
This professor is not understanding of students and their other classes. Considering that this is more of an elective course, the amount of homework and papers given is absurd. The majority of the assignments don't even make any sense. She's also very rude and snarky to her students.
This professor has a personality that makes it incredibly difficult to ask questions, ask for help or clarification, etc. She is very rude to her students, oftentimes puts them down, and degrades them in front of the class or on their personal work if the answer is not what she would have written. Avoid taking her if possible.
the absolute worst professor kean could have ever hired. insensitive, not understanding, accuses you of stealing others work, belittles you, and makes you feel dumb. adds stress on top of stress, so unnecessary. calls you out in front of class and plays dumb. do not take her she is the worst person I have ever encountered at Kean University.
The amount of work she gives is stressful & ridiculous. There are 2+ papers due every week. Does not use the learning platform GIVEN by the college. Chooses to use her own platform, which is Google Classroom. Does not do office hours; very hard to communicate with. Inconsiderate of student's feelings and personal lives. VERY RUDE. Grades not shown.
If you have this professor, DON'T! She is THE MOST worst professor I've ever had at Kean. Very inconsiderate of peoples beliefs. Blames the students for doing things wrong. Doesn't teach properly and goes off her own beliefs. Her explanation for assignments are very confusing. She's very rude and isn't considerate. Don't walk, RUN AWAY!
Multiple papers due at the same time, too much for an elective. Throws a fit if you do not talk in class. Does not have clear grading guidelines. Grades harshly on homework with little reasoning. People with same feedback have different grades. Papers are based off of hippy dippy novels with no factual backing.
Very rude, disrespectful, and does not care for students. Graded homework very late and never let anyone know where they stood in the class. If you miss class twice you fail! I walked in 5 min late due to no parking and said I was absent..for a 3 hr lecture class Marked a guy that walked in after me present. I was very confused the whole semester!
This course would have been a better course with an open platform without the amount of papers involved. When it came to finals we had a 10+ page paper, with a presentation, and a 115+ question exam. I enjoyed her as a person but would never take her again as a professor.
I think it very much depends on the class you have for her and from this experience I would never want to take her again. she has kept us over the time multiple times, interrupted students as they spoke on their beliefs, and showed lack of flexibility when you try to speak to her about any problem you just get a zero. Very difficult to follow due to a lack of structure and breaks for students. She gives homework assignments weekly on top of having to do a presentation weekly with randomly assigned groups, three exams, a 65 question final exam, and a 12 page final essay w. presentation. Overall, WAY too much for an elective class.. (THEORIES OF PERSONALITY)
Try your best to find a different professor. She randomly calls on people in class. She grades very hard and gives many assignments. Her handwriting is difficult to understand. Lots of handouts but don't use them to do the assignments, use the textbook. 4 exams and 7 homeworks with multiple parts. Last paper is 12 pages long with presentation.
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR YOUR SANITY! This teacher was a mess when scheduling classes/assignments. She makes you do group presentations, but are not graded. 2 page papers per week for hw, and the last one is 10+ pages. A lot of classes were online and everything was about her convenience, not the students. She spoke to us like she's our mother.
The professor has a unique teaching style, but it's worth engaging with. Lots of work, but using Unstuckstudy and the textbook can help. Not the easiest class, but you'll learn a lot.
This professor was okay, maybe a little disorganized at times but not the worst here at Kean. Majority of the classes were online and we would do group presentations every week. There is a 2 paged homework assignment due every week and at the end there is a 10 paged paper, but she says it does not need to be in essay format making it manageable.
a lot of homework so make sure to do it. in class she's not the worst but it's important that you participate. she assigned up a group presentation last minute which was really annoying and inconvenient to us students, but she's not the harshest grader so it's a pretty easy class to pass.
Professor Fantasoukis was a very pleasant professor, I'm not sure why she gets all these bad reviews. She is a very sweet lady, and not a tough grader. The homework can be a bit much, but they're not weighted too heavy so you can pick and choose if it gets to be too much. You will do extremely well as long as you just do your work and participate.
Wouldn't recommend her. She's super strict, not understanding at all—I missed a test due to being in the hospital, and she didn't care. Plays favorites, lectures without engaging, and her handwriting is hard to read. I dreaded going to her class. Pick someone else if you can.
I would rather eat a pair of jeans before I ever take one of her classes again. She has little to no empathy and needs to retire 5 years ago! Booooo
