Chuck Gowen is kinda nerdy at times. But he does care about the students. He wants to see the students succeed. His test questions are the best of the four teachers.

one time i saw him walk out of a bathroom stall without washing his hands, very nasty. his material is easy as hell. i dont understand how someone so timid and squirrely could teach management and coordinate a mammoth of a class like 310

he is a really good teacher kind of a weirs guy but his tests are pretty easy and he knows how to communicate very well.

boring teacher, but he is the most straightforeward and his parts are the easiest on the exam. Only study the slides he tells you to, nothing else will be on it! Yeah hes not a good speaker and hes boring, but at least hes straightforeward and easy.

everyone seems to hate this guy, but i think he is one of the better 310 teachers. his material is the easiest and he doesn't waste time in lecture. he tells you exactly what you need to memorize, and thats it.

He's the best out of the UBUS 310 professors. He can be really boring at times, but he is very straightforward. He tells you what slides to study for the test, so you won't have to waste your time reading everything. I learned a lot from him compared to the other 3 professors.

something about gowen strikes me as peculiar, yet nevertheless he is a good prof. his section is by far the easiest and we watch a lot of movies in his class some of them are pretty funny. Gives in class quizzes and quite often gives u the answers. gives 20 points extra credit. Tries to be funnny which at times gets annoying. OVerall A- teacher

He is very organized. You know what he expects out of you for tests, and the test questions are very easy. He might not have the most exciting lectures, but UBUS isn't an exciting class. It is the easiest UBUS subject without a doubt, because you know what to study.

boring. you cant understand him. go to class to get the points. he says some things in lectures that are on the test to see if you were paying attention.

Great professor that tells you everything you need to study to successfully pass the exams.

Great Professor, Don't need the book, everything is in the notes, teacher is enthusiastic about what he does, gives great study guide (short and to the point). Attend all classes, he gives quizes in class, easy points towards the final grade.

I thought he was the best of the UBUS 310 teachers. All you need to review for his part of the exam is the notes that he gives you and you will do great. He will even tell you that everything on the exam comes from the notes. He was the most enthusiastic of the teachers. I thought his section was the least boring of the four. He was a fair teacher.

He is a good teacher but many are convinced he has a fear of his students. His humor is in good intention but the delivery lacks. His research at NIU is one of the reasons why we rank!

Easy teacher. Don't buy the book and know what he tells you to circle. For the midterm and the final he gave a review of all the power points he wanted you to know. It seems like a lot, but it is easy.

This guy is a loon! But his section is the easiest--take the low hanging fruit people! When he says to circle something on the slide, that means that is the question! I don't know how people do bad in the Management part.

the stuff he teaches is very boring. But hes a very nice guy and he really cares about what he does. He tells u whats on the test and only study the slides he gives u for the exam. DONT BUY THE BOOK I NEVER OPENED IT

Although I got an A in 310 I found this section to be one of the harder sections. Don't Read the book, memorize the power point slide reviews and you will do just fine in this section. The book was rarely used and IMO a waste of money. Get the 'Pop' Quiz points and don't hope for a curve.

When Gowen teaches, its should a joke. I mean just look at him. His stories and tangents can be weird at times but there pretty funny. When you study for the MGMT potion just look over his review and really just look at what he has underlined on it.

Pretty boring lectures. But his quizzes are usually just attendance checks, the answers are all D or he gives you the answers or something like that. For the test just review the PowerPoint review file and focus on what is underlined.

Hes a great guy and shares a lot of knowledge. Just pay attention and youll do fine on the quizzes and memorize the underlines parts on his slides and youll ace his part of the test

Not exactly enthusiastic but he is pretty straight forward. If you attend his lectures, copy the notes, and study the guide you will ace his section on every exam. He doesn't sneak in any random questions so just follow his study guide.

Was worried about 310 coming into in because of the horror stories ive heard. By the second test i barely studied and missed about half of total class extra pts and i still got a comfortable C. If I knew how easy it would be i could have gotten an easy B with minimal effort. JUST GO TO CLASS and dont miss quiz pts. also take advantage of 20ex pts

Good teacher, difficult subject matter.

Attend all lectures and take advantage of all extra credit opportunities. Had 7 exams and I got failed all but two and got a C. This class is hard and is used to weed out students. Dr Gowen is softspoken and fair. His lectures are a little boring. This class is taught by 3 other professors. One for each functional area; Mgmt, Fina, OPS and MKTG.

Soft but clear voice, seems like a nice guy. His study guides is the most simplest/straight to the point one, compared to the other professors guides. Moderate difficulty exam questions. Take every extra credit he gives+ethics quiz+last day 10 pt quiz+anything else! And plz max every professors quiz score, if your a normal person you will NEED IT!

Although his lectures were a little boring, he is a very nice professor. The questions on the exams are directly off the study guide and the quizzes are very easy, most of the time he will give the answers. Easy A!

It is tough to keep your eyes open during his part of the lecture. His exam section is not bad though. Pay attention to underlined text in the PowerPoint. He is not very approachable.

I really Professor Gowen's teaching style. He adds some humor into the mix to try and keep things light. The material wasn't hard as long as you pay attention in class and start the exam study guides early.

Such a boring lecturer, he always made me want to sleep. His voice is so soft so you have to actively listen. Don't bother buying the textbook. His powerpoint slides are all you need to study off of for his section. Nice guy.

Ok. The book is mandatory because I felt the lecture / powerpoints did not go into enough detail and didn't like the organization of them.. The video clips to compliment the lecture didn't really help with the content except questions on the tests include what was on the videos. I don't agree he was boring .Management portion was great

Wonderful teacher who listens to any concerns his students may have. You can tell that he loves his job. The class is very manageable as there is little homework on the day to day. The final paper can be a lot of work if you don't stay on top of things but overall I enjoyed this class.

Prof. Gowen is a nice guy and is clear with what he expects from students. As long as you put in the effort his class should not be too difficult. He is very understanding and will work with you to help you succeed.
