Very openminded and willing to help students at any time
i've never seen a professor have so much enthusiasm about microbes...
I went into the class without the required text and I rarely studied. Final grade was a B (although I wish I would've put in more effort so I'd have an A)
She is an extremely EZ teacher. She says that she accepts only like 10 points of Extra Credit, but really offers you liek 25. She make sthe tests pretty EZ, and a lil studying goes a long way.
very helpful and funny. gives a study guide and goes over it for every test. show up for class and listen to lectures and you'll be all right. she gives pop quizes also.
The first day is always the scariest but she wil help get rid of all those fears. If you study for the test you are sure to ace itm and she gives our lots of extra credit, take her she is funny and the best.
The class was pretty straight forward, she gives you a study guide for all the tests, extra credit and drops your lowest quiz and test. The final is supplement to your grade. She's very enthusiastic about micro which made it interesting..take this class
Cindy's a great teacher..She's really fond of microbes..lol..but she makes learning a whole lotta fun..She's always crackin jokes here and there..hehe..I highly recommend her! You will learn so much from her class..Just study her lecture notes and so forth, and you will do just fine..
Awesome teacher, loves microbes, a little obsessive but it's her career right? I wouldn't recommend anyone else but her. She's the best, I got an A not because I love Microbiology, but because she makes it fun and makes us aware of our surroundings. TAKE HER!!
Three cheers for Cindy!! She's the schizzizzle. I learned so much from this class. Cindy makes you want to be a better (& cleaner) person.
CINDY WAS A GREAT TEACHER. ALTHOUGH SHE REALLY HAS A LOVE FOR MICROBES, IT CAN BE SCARY/FUNNY AT TIMES. I RECOMMEND HER 100% `>;]
cool teacher, hard class...
Cindy is a very outgoing instructor which is an awesome combination when teaching microbes. She makes the class very exciting and entertaining by using everyday life examples. Excellent study guides and charts for studying.
don't like science. after taking this course, i love it. by the end of the sem, you'd be a germ-a-phobic. learned a lot. keep up with da quizzes n you'll do fine. she's very outgoing person. makes class fun & exciting. this class was stressful but "it is the eustress" like she says.
tough class with quizes each week but nice, energetic, and a VERY helpful professor. totally recommend cindy as long as you're willing to keep up with the class
The teacher is nice and helpful. Very into the class and excited about it. The class is just so hard and too much info.
She does LOVE micro but she's a little obsessive about it. It's great that she drops many low scores, but she tends to put in her notes "Look at table 5.2" and this will be in your next test word for word. She does not emphasize enough what is important; she has too many notes. Also, I found that she dodged questions she couldn't answer.
I LOVE CINDY!!!! i thot micro wud b tough but she makes it sooooo easy!! shez so funny n really helpful tOo. i wud recommend her 200%!!! u wnt regret!!
Mrs. anderson is very nice teacher. her class is not hard if you have the time to study for it. she gives a quiz on lecture and lab every week. overall, the quizes were not hard.if you have to take this class, take it by itself.
Great teacher, positive attitude, great sense of humor. Very helpful and available if you need extra help.
Very outgoing, and you can tell she loves to teach microbiology which makes a real difference when learning this stuff.
She is one of the best teachers I've had at Mt. Sac. She is very helpful, and has lots of energy. If you take Micro. I suggest you take it with her. She makes microbiology a learning experience that is fun but challenging. She is very fair when it comes to grades.
She is a very energetic teacher and always try to make microbiology to be fun for us. She is always ready to help you anytime and I also like the way she teaches in the class. Highly recommended!!!!!!!!
She is a very good teacher. Her tests are not hard as long as you study the lecture outline and the study guide. the final lab exam was not as i expected. i thought that it was gonna be hard, but it turned out to be easy. she gives you a case that includes the reservoir, symptoms, and other easy clues. have good notes and youll do fine.
She is very good teacher. She tells you a lot of information and tries to make you know more about micro. But the micro is a hard class, so study hard and follow her study guide.
She is a great instructor, enegetic, enthusiastic and wants you to understand what your learning in a fun way.Very well organized.Class requires alot of studying. Her tests are not hard as long as you study notes and study guide. No one in this class dropped, that says alot about her teaching, its excellent.
Awesome teacher. You need to study but she is one of the best teachers ever. Just do all of the study questions and you will be fine. She tells you what you need to focus on in studying. Follow that and you will be fine. Microbes rule!!! You will say this after you take this calss.
Cindy Anderson is a great professor... She's so nice and want to help her students equally. She also gives a lot of extra credit. She also makes us loves microbiology. MICROBIOLOGY IS NO 1.
Her enthusiasm for micro is what makes her good, and also what makes her bad in some ways. She will talk continuously in the lecture which makes it easy to drift off (sit somewhere in the front!) Fortunately she gives note packets (VERY helpful for studying) There is a lot of studying for lab quizzes, some which are days apart. Overall, thumbs up.
Cindy is the best prof i have ever had at Mt.sac. The class is full of allot of information so make sure you study hard, take advantage of her office hours its worth it.Make sure you do her study guide it will help you on her major exams.
Cindy is awesome!!! She is a great professor & she makes class interesting. The only down side to the class is the 5 point quizzes almost everyday on the previous days lecture. Sometimes she says they are easy, & even if you study, they are not easy. I recomend the 16 week course if possible. I took it in 6 and was sleep deprived. I luv microbes
she is my fave professor! she makes microbes fun! shes great! take her class (only if you need it)
great instructor, cover alot of material so do not fall behind...
funny, gives extra credit. helpful. study the hand outs and it's not so bad
Best and most fun prof I ever had in mt.sac . Even though micro is a hard class she makes it interesting and fun. You have to attend every lecture class cause its gonna cost you a lot if you miss her 5 point quizzes..
She is the best and MICROBIOLOGY rocks! She is really enthusiastic abt her subject. Class is easy and fun(we had way too much fun) Quizzes are easy and so are the exams.
It has been only 3 weeks and I find that I like this subject very much. I attribute my keen interest for the subject to the passion this Prof conveys. If not for her joy of teaching and the effect this has on her students I would have a hard time concentrating. I find her very hot!!!
AMAZING PROFESSOR!!!!! Ms. Anderson knows her material in microbiology like that back of her hand. Extremely helpful, shes a teacher who cares and gives EVERY student OPPERTUNITY to be the best in MICRO. If U dont get the A or B in the class its bcuz u didnt do ur part. Ms.Anderson is one of very few who we call TEACHERS.
she's super friendly and keeps you entertained and she's really helpful, you have to study cause she gives pop quizes but by the time you have an exam you're prepared
She is the best teacher i have ever taken!she makes her exams very understandable, if you study you can answer her ?'s. she keeps the class very fun and always interesting. she offers extra credit, keep up w/ flash cards, and notes and youll do fine!
Cindy is seriously, the BEST professor I have taken. She LOVES what she does and wants to see EVERYBODY succeed! She is extremely helpful, ensures everyone understands the material! No way to FAIL, unless you don't review notes and study questions. The study guides are WHAT IS ON THE EXAM! No tricky questions, it's EASY! TAKE HER!u won't regret it
SHE'S ABOSOLUTELY ADORABLE! Cindy's always energetic and enthusiastic. She's one of the few who loves and enjoys what she teaches, and thus she intrigues the class and makes you feel just as enjoyable. the class is fairly easy and just be sure to read her lecture packets and you'll do great on the tests and quizzes.
Professor Anderson is amazing! She teaches with such clarity and enthusiasm, you cannot help but to also become enthused about microbiology. She's everything an instructor should be, making learning fun and accessible.
Awesome teacher! so energetic! and actually likes/knows the subject she is teaching! great lab teacher too...so clear and thorough. tests are do-able- just study. early morning lectures were difficult to wake up for but it's worth it because she's that good!
WHen i first entered the class i though it was going to be easy because reading the book was a breeze. the book is clear and understandable. Andersons test were not easy4 me. lab was fun and pretty chill.she likes put 2gether multiple choice answers that are very similar.ok class. so glad its over. dnt tke this class wt other sciences w lab
cindy is awesome! she helps you understand everyting very clearly. i highly recommend her. she does pop quizes but if you pay attention in class you will do fine. i did get a good strong b and thats thanx to her because if i took it with another teacher i dont think i would have done that good. i barely read the book, thats how good she it!
Energetic, she knows what she's talking about, and you will get motivated by her positive attitude. Didn't buy the book and I got a "B." If I didn't take quizzes for granted, could've gotten an A. Quizzes can help you out for that 1% or 2% away from A. Have to attend lecture, she gives a LOT of hints for the exam.
She gets excited with her subject so that is a plus since it can get you excited about the subject. She tries hard to help you understand the subjects. There were a few times (not many) she tried to make an answer up. I would recommend her easy A if your ontop of things.
Cindy is adorable and very passionate about the class, which made learning a breeze. The class itself is graded very easily, even with failing a few of her weekly quizzes in lab and lecture I still got an A in the class. I took this at the same time as ANAT36 and got As in both, so it was pretty each to keep up with the material too.
For Micro 22, Cindy takes a potentially nasty subject and makes it lively and fun. Very easy to follow and get an A. She's very energetic, so beware. The textbook is very clear, informative, and intersting, although you won't really need it.
Microbiology can seem intimidating but Cindy does a wonderful job teaching it. Funny, energetic, very fair, and incredibly enthusiastic about microorganisms. I would take it over again with Cindy if I had to - that's how much she got me to appreciate the subject. As long as you stay on top of it, you can easily ace this class.
Not easy, but not too hard if you keep up and DON'T PROCRASTINATE! She's clear on what she expects, there will be no surprises on the tests if you thoroughly review your notes and study guide. The study guide she gives at the start of each unit is key to acing those tests! Really put in the time to do those study guides, not just glance over them.
Not an easy class, but she grades pretty leniently if you're able to explain why you chose an answer even if you got it wrong. As long as you can show understanding of the concept, she'll give you the points. Also, she uses the textbook a lot, so make sure to read it!
Great Professor! Offers extra credit oppurtunities and is really there for her students. She's very helpful and makes sure you keep up with the material by giving pop quizzes. She has a passion for Microbiology and is full of energy! There is alot of information to learn, but as long as you keep up with studying, you'll be fine.
Very helpful and easy prof. She gives extra credit opportunities and definitely makes lecture/lab fun. Tests are very straightforward, just be sure to use her study guides and you'll do just fine. Definitely recommend taking this professor.
Very helpful professor. Key to the class is to make sure you do the study guides. If you do the study guides and answer all the essay questions to each unit that is basically the test! She is very straight foward. Pretty easy class
Cindy is amazing! She is super sweet and always ready to help. She is so passionate about Microbiology and makes the class really interesting. I would even recommend it to non-science majors. Study guide is the key to getting that A. Pop quizzes are easy if you keep up with the reading and lectures. Absolutely one of my favorite professors!
"Microbes Rule"...Cindy wants & works hard for her students to succeed. Her efforts reflect her passion in Micro. Best professor in Mt. SAC
She is extremely enthusiastic about microbes lol. I can't say I love the course because Cindy really puts you to work in Micro. Theres a lot of quizzes in both lecture and lab, essay questions/definitions in the exams, lots of labs due, but in the end I appreciate the work she makes us do to keep us interested and focused on learning.
I LOVE Cindy! She is extremely helpful & sweet. It's a lot of work, but she makes it possible to pass the class.Put your main effort into passing those 4 lecture exams or you'll regret it later. As soon as you start the class try to get your pathogen charts done & read your book! Work piles up quickly! Don't fall behind & you'll be fine at the end.
She's a great teacher. Her study guides are exceptionally helpful and she's open to questions. But she's not easy, make sure you study after class. There's quizzes that keep you on your toes. It's not an easy class, but she makes it exceptionally enjoyable.
Cindy loves her job and microbes! She makes the subject fun and is very helpful by making herself available after class for one on one help. The class is challenging and do not fall behind. It is a very fast paced class. She is the best teacher for this topic! TAKE HER!
Best Science teacher i had !!!love her!!!!
Cindy is very helpful and is very excited about microbiology. Shes willing to help before and after class. Just dont fall behind a lot of material to learn in a short time.
Cindy is a great teacher, one of the best!! She's very enthusiastic and extremely helpful. Don't fall behind, and if you need help with anything, go to her office hours or ask her to meet before class, she's willing to help anytime she can! Take her and you'll be all set!!!
Need to be on ur toes at all times.U can't be late 1min cause u might miss a popquiz which you need to study for b4 & after/lec. Starts lec. 5mins early & ends 5mins late almost every lec.Don't get me wrong she is a great teacher! Requires alot of time & studying outside of class. Pathogens:you need to remember what is most unique about each one.
As long as you read the book and do the study guide, you're guaranteed an A. It's A LOT of work that I felt like taking a 6unit class instead of 4.She gives out pop quizzes and won't go back to questions so don't be late.(I hate when ppl walk in late and disturb!)Overall, extremely fair in grading and I loved her personality and teaching style!!
I love Micro but Lots of reading&memorization!no makeup quiz but one of the four exams can be replaced by final if the final exam is better.can't miss even one class or lab.if you don't understand the lectue, you'll screw on the exams.very intense class!
Lecture isn't boring as u choose answers every while so u are not just listening all time. Exams are direct, easy. Need to attend every lecture & lab will help a lot in study &exams.she's helpful &good personality. 9 pathogen groups, search the info & ask her,it's big part of lab quizzes. 1 lab report. Recommend her.
The professor is fun about the subject. Do not be late because there are pop quizzes and she uses an iclicker so it makes you pay attention during lecture. Don't slack off in the reading. The only thing I had a lot of trouble with was during the exam even though I felt good I ended up doing bad, so pay attention to the questions.
very unorganized. We had a 5 points quiz each time we step foot in the class. You can't ask any question after class, she tells you to go to her office hours. We had 55 pathogen charts to make ( other classes make them as a group ). I got an A but I was overwhelmed with work. Lots of homework. Her tests are multiple choices plus essay questions
Seriously, Cindy is such an awesome professor. Didn't think I'd like micro but wow. Such a fun class. Made so many friends in class too. Pathogen charts should be done ASAP or else you won't do too well on the quizzes. Do the study guide on her lecture packets because it will help you out A LOT! One of the best professors at SAC. I learned so much!
She is always willing to help you. She is very approach and tries to make the class interesting.
This was an amazing class, it has been the best class that i have ever taken. The professor is amazing, she is super funny, helpful and very clear on lecturing. Not impossible to get an A, just don't get behind and read the book which is super interesting.. microbes rule!!! :D
Cindy is awesome! I would definitely take her again. Micro is difficult as it is but her extra effort doesn't go unnoticed. She is extremely passionate and knowledgeable on the subject. One of the best professors at MT. SAC HANDS DOWN!
Stud Gude Txt Bok to Do Wel OnExams. Pop Quiz based on prev lect. Informs What To Review For Pop Quizs Do ur Pathogen Charts Spend Time On Them Will Help For Lab Quizs and Lab Final Ofers EC Hyper Energtic Wants Students To Succed Lovs Her Job Will Answr All Quest Go Office Hrs She Wil Notice u Care Be On Time Or Get Locked Out
Anderson is a pop quiz queen. She will test you from any chapter in the unit. The pop quiz can be anything covered 2 weeks ago to the most recent information lectured. Lab quiz can be challenging if pathogen groups aren't organized. Other than that she is a good professor and not an easy one. There are other micro professors that are easier.
She is an awesome professor can answer any question and very excited about the subject. You gotta Study really hard to get an A. Tests are hard , besides lecture notes you have to read book. Very intense class , don't fall behind study everything she says and read the book and you should be fine. It's important not to be late or miss class .
Great professor, not an easy A, gotta study very hard , tests are hard, extra credit available. Read the book and study notes along with pathogen groups. Dont be late or going to miss a quizz.
Professor Anderson is great. She gives study guides at the beginning of the units. She is pretty clear as to what she expects from you. I would not take her again because her teaching style does not match with my learning style. She gives so many pop quizzes. I was late 5min once and missed the quiz. I am an A and B student but it didnt reflect
LOTS of work! HIGHLY suggest teaming up with classmates to do study guides & pathogen groups. Majority of the study guide comes straight from lectures, but the textbook helps a lot, too. She's kind of lenient on grading short answers & is really enthusiastic about micro. She truly wants you to pass & dedicates lots of her time to helping us pass.
Cindy is the most passionate professor I've ever had! I have not met anyone so inspired by the subject that they teach. She's a wonderful person and a great teacher. She really gets you excited to learn about microbiology and makes everything seem fun! She gives you everything you need to get a good grade but you really have to work for it.
She's like Ms. Frizzle and microscopes are her school bus... Her enthusiasm for micro will trick you into thinking you like it too. She's very clear with what she expects. She gives you every single tool that you need to be successful in the course. You WILL work for your grade. Pathogen groups seemed a bit much much, but it's an enjoyable class.
Don't show up late to class, study the packets, and do the pathogen charts. These are the keys to success in her class. She's a passionate professor with a great personality. I was on the verge to an A, but I was late to the lab final and missed 2 questions. She did not go back and I ended up with a D on the final. So be on TIME all the time!!
Cindy is a really great professor for Micro. Don't let her scare you in the beginning. She's really clear in what she wants and she cares for her students. Lecture consists of 3 lecture+final. She offers extra credit. Lec and Lab both have quizzes but arent as bad. She makes you work for your grade. Get started on pathogen charts asap!!
if you are to take her class make sure is only her class you are taken for the semester. she make you research all the pathogen chart and hand written them too, alot of pop-up quizzes. exams are so hard, so much confusing information, will take all your time studying this course. if you can memorize is a good class for you. Don't take her please.
Awful. Just ridiculous for the amount of work to put in. I felt like I was taking four classes in her lecture and lab. You have to research pathogens outside of class AND make sure to read the book in its entirety. Her tests are incredibly difficult for lab and lecture. I get it, she wants you to KNOW it. But it's just way too much.
This class is HARD. However, Cindy is a wonderful and understanding professor who will give you great feedback on what you need to work on to pass. She is also fair! If there is a question on the test that was confusing to you or maybe you made a mistake with something, she will help you out. You really do 100% get the grade you deserve .
She is amazing! Those of you that are lazy to do h.w. I would reconsider your major, not the professors. All micro classes are demanding and require h.w. E.g pathogen charts. My friend took it last semester in the spring with Spitzer and got a C and she too had to do charts for h.w. I decided to take it with Anderson and I got an A! Get on charts#1
I took this class a couple semesters ago. I gained a lot of knowledge with Cindy in pathological diseases and more. However, Cindy is a bit demanding. Come on this is a "community college" not a "UC". Although, everything I learned in micro helped me in my nursing class for pathophysiology. This micro class requires a lot of outside study time.
Cindy is my favorite professor! She is very passionate about teaching microbiology and inspired me to rethink my major and switch to microbiology. She makes lab so fun fast and easy! Take her class!!!!
She is an amazing person. Cares soo much about her students however, dont let that fool you the material is tough. Be prepapred to spend hours outside of class to get an A. You HAVE to read the textbook she leaves out half of the material in lecture. Read!
Loved her!!! Current day Ms. Frizzle!! She's extremely passionate about what she does, even after 30+ years of teaching. You will HAVE to read the text as she skips over a lot of material during lecture. Do NOT fall behind on pathogen charts, as a few of them will be back to back!! You get what you put in!! Loved the class!
I 100% recommend, amazing teacher who really cares about her students. Not an easy course regardless of who you take but Cindy makes the topics relevant and interesting. Don't fall behind and attend every lecture.
Cindy is the sweetest and best professor I have had at mount sac! She was so helpful and really made sure you knew the material, her exams could be challanging but she gives you all the tools to succeed. Utilize the step! Do not slack on pathogen charts and be ready for those pop quizzes. Final is very tough prepare early!!
