Gives very very clear step-by-step instruction. She is completely prepared and polished. Review problems in class prepare you for homework. Teaches you how to use TI-83. Hard tests, but fair; You do well if you study. Not an easy A. Good teacher.

Very good teacher. Very organized and clear. This class is not an "easy A" but is not impossible either. The tests reflect the subject matter and are completely fair, although mistakes can still be made. Fair does not mean that a test is easy ;)

Great teacher! Has you do a lot of work, but projects are fun and not hard if you think about them. DO THE HOMEWORK! You get a quiz or test every week. Teacher explains very clearly, one of best in-class instructors at Palomar. Go to every class.

She is real good teacher. I failed trig. before, but Anfinson made the class simple. Her test are do-able.

It's been 2 yrs since I graduated from Palomar, I am a senior now at CSUSM majoring in Accounting and Cindy is one professor that will always be remembered because of her dedication. I took all her math classes because she explained well. Her teaching made it easy for us.Do homework & you'll be fine

Good teacher. Always willing to help and explain. Make sure to go to office hours early because she doesn't turn anyone away and there will be a long line of studnets waiting for her help.

It was nice to be able to have a teacher that could teach the material so well that you could go home and begin your homework without looking at the lecture notes. If you do your homework then you will do well in her class. Take advantage of the fact that she lets you look at her old exams and go see her in the math center.Wish she taught math 141!

Great teacher, tries to be as clear as possible and will re-explain things if needed. She writes almost everything on the board which can be really helpful. She gives credit for just attempting problems. Homework is fairly easy just keep up with it, and tests are reasonable. I don't like math and I enjoyed her class(as much as you can enjoy a math)

I have ALWAYS struggled with math.Still do,but since I'm older & appreciate my education, it's not for lack of trying.She was the MOST AMAZING lady, very approachable, makes time for students outside of class, was flexible when I had a crisis,let me test in math center for extra time since I was struggling but working so hard..will miss her!

this class extremely easy because of how she explain thing. She write everything on the board. She is very nice and very easy grader. Usually if you get a tiny error in your problem it's still consider it wrong but she only mark down a point or two for that error as long as you know how to solve the equation.

She is the best! she explains things in a very easy to understand way. She is very willing to spend one on one time with you if you need it. Shew writes everything down on the board which is very helpful and goes over the homework so you know where you went wrong. I took the intersession class. It moved extremely fast but was kinda fun with her.

She is the best!!!I had been out of school awhile when I took her interssion class. It moved really fast but she was so helpful. She would and again if you didn't get it the first time. I highly recommend her if you have a fear of math. She is the nicest person I have ever met. She wants you to learn. She made sure we were prepared for math 60.

Professor Anfinson is the most patient and helpful instructor I have ever had. She is extremely intelligent but she does not explain things as to go over students heads. I highly recommend her for students who do not like or are nervous about taking a math course.

There are good professors and there are REALLY REALLY good professors; she's the latter one. Uberly nice. Good teaching qualities. Its a pretty tough class, but she is available for further questions in her office. She goes pretty fast in the beginning but that means there's more time to review for the final. Besides, you get to be CSI-for-a-day :)

Hands down the best math professor at Palomar. Took Math 110 with her and she is just bottom line the definition of a great teacher. Very easy grader and even helps you on quizzes and tests.

I think she was a really great professor for the most part. Really enjoys teaching and has a genuine love for math, tries to get you interested in it as well. Very understanding when it comes to time constraints and grading. And also more than willing to help anyone, also explains things very clearly. Overall I really enjoyed her class :)

I have good calc 2 foundation thanks to her. A lot of teachers just focus on the problem and how to solve them, Cindy, she gives a closer look to the concept behind it, making it easier to understand.You need to do hw to keep up w/ this class, that also helps for the tests too. they're similar to her examples and some in the textbook.RECOMMEND her!

Linear Algebra is unlike any other math course I've ever taken....but she spends way too long rewriting the theorems that are already in our book. She doesn't spend enough time teaching examples and too much on proofs. I ended up using alot of Cramster.com and khanacademy.com. Better than her.

Extremely helpful and very clear in her teaching. No tricks. Hw isn't graded but you must do it anyways in order to understand (no surprise there). It is not hard to do well. Just do your work and study well. Visit her in her office if you need extra help. She is more than willing.

If it weren't for Cindy, there is no way I would be able to go back to school 12 years later to take Statistics and have a B in that class. She makes sure you understand the fundamentals of a task before elaborating. She actually made math fun and easy to understand. She was the first math teacher I ever had that wasn't named Coach.

Should be a 4 unit class the way she teaches it. You will learn Trigonometry with her. During the hardest portion of the class she sped up the curriculum in order to stay on track. Don't expect a curve.

Go to class, do your homework and you will do fine. She is a lenient grader and gives partial credit if you show your work. The 4 labs turned out to be a lifesaver (as well as fun) even though we all hate the thought of labs in math.

Fantastic Teacher. Defines everything, very easy to understand, helpful, and teaches at a good speed. I took the 6 week summer course and I am SO glad I chose her. I retained the information, and actually understand algebra now! She is, literally, the best math professor I have ever had. Her teaching techniques work, and she is a fair grader.

Absolutely adore this professor. Her lectures are very clear and she is genuinely interested in helping her students suceed. She explains all concepts thoroughly. I would definitely take her again. She did have labs due every couple of weeks which was extra work, but definitely helped your grade if you needed the extra points.

Great calculus professor. Provided excellent help outside of class. She posts all the notes on her website & provides study guides w answers for all the tests. The tests have problems that are very similar from lecture, study guide & HW. HW is on webassign; gives you more time if needed. Labs are easy points. Don't get behind & u should be good.

I took Professor Anfinson for Calc 1 and Linear Algebra. I'm pretty bummed I can't take more of her classes. She's honestly my favorite professor at Palomar. Her lectures are clear and neat, she grades/returns graded work promptly, and she always is available for help. She also brings candy on exam days. :)

Cindy is an amazing professor, and I'm glad I took her for 140. She teaches calc in a way that is PALATABLE. I took her class a few semesters ago. Biggest issue I had with the course was that it felt like the exams didn't match with the homework/labs/quizzes. I got B's on her homework and labs, and the quizzes were hw based but D-F on exams. ouch

It's a very tough class, but she really cares about the students and is always happy to answer questions. The homework is important to be done on time because it prepares you for the weekly quizzes. Didnt like how the exams are usually based off of the hard homework problems from the book, instead of the normal ones, though.

love her. EXTREMELY organized and posts all her lecture notes, exam keys, etc. on canvas. Exams shouldNT be hard if you study the lecture notes and do more practice problems. homework on webassign can be quite tedious though-- some questions there are much harder than what's on the exams. super helpful and caring +she gives candy on exam days

I am a math major and graduated from Palomar. Professor Anfinson is the BEST professor I have ever learned from. I really wish all the other professors were like her. Even in the upper division courses, there is no other professor like Prof. Anfinson. She is EXTREMELY organized, clear lectures, helpful, and she is a really, really nice person.

One of the most amazing Professors out there. She takes the time to walk around the class as student work independently. Takes the lectures slow and lets you ask as many questions as needed. She's willing to see you during office hours or outside them and she will spend one-on-one time to help you. Calc 2 with her was easy and she's just AMAZING.

Professor Anfinson was a sweet and intelligent professor. Provides an outline for notes that is easy to follow during lectures. Quite a bit of homework but is needed to understand calculus. Exams can be tough but many questions are similar to either homework problems or examples we go over in class. Show up to class and do your homework to succeed!

Professor Anfinson was an amazing teacher. I came into the class with a 1 on the AP Calc exam, I thought that I would fail or at least get a bad grade. I wasn't confident at all. She helped me finally understand calculus. Make sure you pay attention and she will work with you. She even helped me on the tests and quizzes from time. Great teacher.

Unironically the best math teacher I've had in my life. Very fast response rate, even on the weekends. Lots of office hours. Lectures are very understandable. Few professors make you feel like they believe in you, Professor Anfinson is one of them.

I took Proffesor Anfinson for Cal I and II, and she's was a wonderful Professor highly recommend taking her, more if you like mathematics. She is really enthusiastic, and does the first exams really easy and progressively they start to get harder, but honestly with the labs you have to do it helps you a lot.
