Dr. Hutman will challenge her students. The course is not easy or difficult. What is meant by this is we learn the subject matter for a long term basis. This can make it tough, however, Hutman provides help if you ask.

Dr. Hutman is an awesome professor! Her class is definitely not easy, although not impossible by any means. Make sure you are always in class- that will definitely help you in her class. Enjoy her fun attitude!

Odd teacher. Very knowledgable but insanely condescending at the same time. For the love of god, do not go to the bathroom in the middle of class like the kid in front of me did EVERY day. Do the reading and show up and you'll pull at least a B.

She is the WORST teacher ever!!! She is bipolar and is CRAZY! She so conceided, she thinks she's so smart but she's not. She is not helpful. I don't know how she's been teaching this long.

All I can really say is...she's a horrible teacher. Not only is she a horrible teacher, but she is also a horrible person. She makes rude comments in class, and she flips out randomly in class for no reason! If you have the choice to take this class with a different teacher...my advice is to take it!!

Hutman is not a good teacher. She looks for reasons to be hateful and act superior over her students. Her self-esteem must be very low as she seems to derive much pleasure from putting others down. She doesn't care if her students learn or succeed.

She is a very knowledgeable teacher; however she is very condescending. She received a degree from northwestern, she is very pretentious because of it. She does not realize that she is teaching at a community college, and that the students may not be up to par with the students she encountered at northwestern. do not take this class.

Class is not easy but not extremely hard. You get to use notecards on the exams so that is a plus. Pretty rude though- cusses alot too. Hates just about everything and everyone. If you take things personally you probably will hate this teacher.

Dr. Hutman knows her stuff and you will learn alot in her class but her class is really hard. Her tests are not too bad its doing well on her essays thats really hard and those are a big part of your grade. I wouldnt really recommend her.

I hate how the only students who ever get on here are the irresponsible, poor students who hate any professor that actually makes them work hard to learn something. Clearly many of these students didn't even pay attention the first day. Dr. Hutman tells her students not to call her "Mrs." but also says they can call her "Cindy."

i dont see how anyone can like this lady. She was not nice at all and makes you feel like your worthless and not worth her time. It is horrible. I never wanted to go to her class and it was not worth it when i did. I was NOT NOT NOT reccommend this teacher. I swear you will regret it.

Work on the learning objectives and you will be fine. If you don't intend to work and don't want to learn...don't take her. Irresponsible, idiotic students will not do well in this class. If you really want to learn, take her class.

I heard many of these same comments from students in my class...the students who want to get a grade without really working hard. Dr. Hutman is very professional, organized and knowledable. I would recommend her to serious students.

This woman is crazy. She talks down to students, very unhelpful. I wish someone would have warned me NOT to take her for a class. Very conceited and also disorganized. Shes really a walking scatterbrain.

Every time I stop by her office, she drops everything and helps me. I feel challenged but I know she will get me back on track if I need it. Future students--ask her for help if you need it!! But don't wait until you are too far behind.

I really had to work to get my B in this class, which yes I am in college and working hard is expected, but I don't know about this teacher.... I would NEVER take her again, and that should tell you enough. I really feel bad for those of you who decide to take her.

Take the hybrid course!! So cool. You only have to be in class once a week. Do the other work online. Lectures are fun and interesting. She is helpful if you take the time to ask.

She is full of information that is super interesting, but she's a really really tough grader. She's very picky on what she wants and she won't budge or take excuses. She HATES cell phones. So, good information but really tough teacher, choosing her, choose wisely!

Ok I will admit Dr. Hutman is THE most knowledgable PSY Prof out there! She takes pride in her subject & knows the details; even stories & examples to help you out. BUT she is THE hardest prof I have taken at ECC. Warning: Keep up or DROP immediatly! Don't make the same mistake I did & stay in it. Do hw ontime, go to class, listen & u'll get a C.

Hutman's professional background clearly shows on her teaching methods.I had her 2 semesters ago and she really helped me prepare for courses in the 4 year university I am attending right now. Those of you who say she is too hard will never graduate community college much less make it in a 4 year. Newsflash, it's higher education.

Dr. Hutman is extremely helpful. Come to class and be prepared. It is not an easy A, but it easy to get an A. She gives learning objectives for every lesson. Study the learning objectives and you will do fine. If you are a responsible student you will get an A no problem.

The only class I took last semester that I looked forward to every week. Very interesting. If you get an A or a B in this class, you can be sure you know the material!! Go to class, study the learning objectives, go to Dr. Hutman for help if you need it, keep up.

Internet - I got an A+ in this class. Dr Hutman is structured, specific and tough but she is fair and helpful. Do the work by the deadlines, communicate appropriately and work hard. You will be fine!

I like her. She teaches clearly, you almost always understand what she means.. She can be a little rude at times but we're adults now, we should probably be acting like it. If you actually pay attention and answer the questions, shes fine. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a serious college class.

I took an online class with Dr. Hutman. In the beginning she can sound a little harsh, but once you get to know her she's not that bad. All of her assignments and guidelines are very easy to understand and at the same time the class was challenging, which is what I like. Turn your work in on time, study for tests and you should be able to get an A.

Dr. Hutman is a very professional teacher. She doesn't put up with students who are not serious about their education and she shouldn't. This is college. If you're expecting baby steps, go back to high school. She definitely knows her subject well and prepares students for 4 year institutions as well as careers. You will work hard in her class,deal

This is my second test with her and I wish she taught more I needed. As others have said, she is clear and organized. She provides learning objectives and GUARANTEES that all questions on the test will be from these. If students do poorly on the tests, they were too lazy to even look at the learning objectives!! She is helpful and friendly.

Hutman loves teaching child psych! She can be strict at times, especially with her no cell phone rule but if you keep up with the discussion board and study hard for tests you should easily ace the class! Every test is only 25 multiple choice and then two take home essay questions! She can be intimidating at first, but she is a great teacher!

RUDE!!! Take this class if you want to be treated like the dog crap on the buttom of her shoe. She has a PHD and you are working towards an associates, so she must be better than you. I would never ever recommend a teacher that doesn't have the common sense to treat people with respect.

Cindy is a tough but fair teacher. She is very knowledgeable and will help you if you ask. This is a college class, therefore she expects students to study responsibly. If you pay attention and study hard you will do well in her class. It is not an easy A. This is college - grow up and study.

Just finished Child Psychology with Dr. Hutman. I learned so much in this class and really wish she taught another course I needed. She is knowledgable, funny and helpful. Anyone who is or ever wants to be a parent or work with children should take this course!!

Honestly, I haven't finished the course. I am taking an online course...but I just have to say. I read all these posts before I enrolled and was really worried I wouldn't like Dr. Hutman. She just helped me with the next assignment, went over the last quiz and got me ready for the next discussion--all in one short visit to her office.

She seems like she knows alot about psych, and can be a very nice person... but if you get on her bad side- she will despise you. Prior warning; the hyrid classes are very difficult with her.

Super class, awesome professor. She gives great examples that really help you understand the material. She is always friendly when I stop by her office for help. I want to major in psychology and I am so glad I took her. I feel like I have a good start on my major.

I didnt care for how she words her quizzes,felt like a lot of the ?'s were trick ?'s. She was helpful when I went to her with questions, and the material and quizzes did seem to get easier as the semester went on. She did offer a lot of extra credit (even tho the syllabus said there would be NONE). I earned an A.

She is a nice teacher, but is very picky when grading the essay questions, which she gives on quizes and tests. She is also not understanding of the students and their situation when it comes to them missing a class for an emergency. I don't recommend her.

Dr. Hutman is fabulous. I was struggling with the PSY218 telecourse and asked her for an appointment. She stayed two hours past her normal office hours to meet with me because I couldn't take off work. She answered all my questions and got me back on track with the course material and the essays.

+: Get to use 3 note cards on every quiz/test,she is very informative and prepared, what you put in is what you get out (grade wise), offers extra credit at times and is very willing to help. -: Boring, she lectures the WHOLE time, grades tough(precise and picky)& a lot of work. TIP: Go in for help. Keep up w/ the work load and you should be OK :)

Cindy is very knowledgeable and her lectures are in depth and helpful. She does expect a lot out of her students and she is a tough grader on assignments. I found the tests to be quite easy though, I usually did well. As long as you put in a lot of effort in the class and take it seriously, you should be fine.

Dr. Hutman is my favorite professor this semester. I look forward to her class more than any others. The class is not easy but, hey, this is college. I really feel like I am learning what I will need to go forward in my major--education. She is super helpful--just stop by her office if you need some extra tutoring.

She was a good teacher and lays out the expectaions of the class on the first day. My biggest problem was she can also be rude at times. I felt that when students asked a question if she thought you should know the answer she would give a very snappy response. If things were not done her way she would get very annoyed.

She's really helpful all you have to do is reach out and she will make it work. Make sure you do the notecards she lets you use them on quizzes and tests it's great. There are 3 writing assignments a semester that can be kindove difficult so I suggest going in to have her look over a draft before submitting it.

She is the worse professor I have had so far. She gives really hard test. You must write down and memorize exactly what she writes down for the test if not you fail the test. Gives 3 writing assignments. Must read all chapters and power points. Though grader. Rarely gives extra credit.

She does not care for people's personal situations for missing class. So if an emergency arises and can't make it don't expect her to give you another opportunity. If you arrive a couple minutes late she will mark you absent. DON'T RECOMMEND HER!!!!!!!!

DONT TAKE HER! you must know 95% of what she says in class to pass the book doesnt matter its what she says is right. no extra credit. shes a really tough grader and dont ask questions because you never get a straight answer. by far the worst teacher ive had. she makes students feel dumb becasue she has her PHD and shes "superior".

She is a very good professor but rude. I was scared to ask questions; she expects you to know the answer. I love psychology so I always looked forward to her lectures; I learned A LOT. You need to go to EVERY class because for the take home essays (second part of the test) she wants her students to talk about what SHE talked about, not the book.

She's smart, but a little bit rude. She talks down to students because of her doctrine. I'm afraid to ask questions. Everything has to be done her way or she throws a fit. It's an interesting class, but she's just a bit rude.

She is very smart and definitely knows her material. But if you ask a question, she will make you feel dumb. The discussion posts are a pain and the highest she'll give you is a C practically. You get a notecard for the tests, though. It's also so boring, but she puts the powerpoints on d2l, so you could just not show up honestly.

Wouldn't take again

She was the worst Professor I've ever had. I took her class briefly a long time ago and dropped it. She's very rude and arrogant. She thinks she is better than everyone because she has a doctorate. Not the type of person I could learn from she's very cold and way too strict especially for a community college class.
