She is just a great teacher. She is pretty easy on the grading, and teaches you a whole lot. She makes sure that everyone does well and isn't left with any questions.

Professor Shannon is AWESOME! I have learned so much in her class, and you can tell she loves to share her knowledge. Study her study guides, and you will get an A! The field trips are fun too! BEST CLASS, AND PROFESSOR FOR BIO!

good class, but watch out for the extra credit on the evey canyon trip (stick together for the WHOLE time) and the "caterpillar" (also on he evy canyon trip). Otherwise, great class!

Professor Shannon's class is interesting and you learn so much about plants and animals. Great for teacher prep. Field Trips were so fun too! The labs are also fun and the class flies by. This is one of my favorite classes and professors

I didn't know i would get to go on so many field trips. Kayaking,camping,canyon walks,etc etc. really great class to be in the environment for city dwellers.i learned so much and it's a life changing class. I learn to see the world in different views now and why the environment is so important. final at her house was really cool.

Great class. Fun trips. A lot of work but you learn so much. Her humor and passion for the environment is contagious. After taking her class your whole world changes on your views of the enviroment.

Great class, field trips are fun, she has a great sense of humor. She is helpful and approachable. Take lots of notes on the field trips and ask questions. If you keep up with the daily assignments the class is a breeze. If you slack off, it can be overwhelming. Summer class is hot and sticky but fun.

Professor Shannon is a great teacher. Bio 4 is not an easy class, but she explains everything in detail. Even gives study guides for the tests. If you take good notes and pay attention and read the book the tests are not hard. Professor Shannon makes the class fun!!

She is a good teacher. Clear lecture and explanation. But i think her tests are a bit hard.

Her exams are hard, she know that but she is not going to make it easy. There are only 4 people with A, n I got a B. She is also honor class professor. She expect you know all the things that she didn't much talk about in class, you have to read the text book and her notes in order to prepare the exams. Put more effort on the 2 research papers.

Her tests are very hard, and she expects a lot from you from her regular class because she also teaches honors classes. Her lectures are clear, gives study guides but a lot of people barely pass. If you have prior knowledge about biology and chemistry and are willing to work hard then take her. This class is tough & she is kind of intimidating.

Cindy is the best teacher i've had. She knows her stuff and makes you think different about the enviroment. Now i can identify birds, plants and insects. Great class. Register now.You wont regret it. P.S.Don't slack on the notebook...it's not hard but really tedious. Tests aren't bad if you pay attention. It's so intersting you don't forget info.

The best teacher i ever had so far at mt sac. I love all the field trip we went to. Her test were easy, gives study guides. It was a lot of work, but it was all worth it going to class every day.

Very good teacher. Tests are pretty hard, but if you do all the work you should be able to get B's. The homework is geared specifically for the tests. It's hard, but that's just the subject because there's a lot to learn. You will have to earn your grade. Labs are probably the easiest points, but you can lose easy points on the lab quizzes.

VERY EASY CLASS! There is just quite a bit of writing. The tests are easy. She goes over the important stuff many times. DON'T MISS CLASS. She basically gives you all the material right there. She is funny. She is a big liberal! The class is interesting for anyone.You learn basic stuff.

Cool teacher. The tests are hard, but doable. As long as you study as much as you know you should, you'll be fine. Shouldn't get less than an A or B if you try. Have to show up to labs.

She was an awesome professor! Though you better do EXTREMELY WELL on the quizzes. There are quizzes each lab period worth 10pts each. SHOW UP FOR LAB worth 3 pts each. Trust me, missing more than one will effect your grade. I averaged 6pts on the quizzes and missed 2 labs, barely got a C for lab. DO YOUR WORK and you will be fine!

she is the best bio teacher ever her lectures are crystal clear i never even bought the book and got 89 on the tests i just studied my lecture notes she gives a study guide and review session for each exam the lab portion of the course is easy 2 show up every class and do ur work take this class! if you have a hard time in bio, then get the book.

Prof. Shannon will go out of her way to help you. Materials were easy, and her exams were really easy. BUT her lessons are very tiring. She's a pretty easy grader but there are many things to do. We had 2 research papers to do during the semester. PLENTY of extra credits availabel!! Overall easy but tiring class. She's pretty interesting!

Fabulous professor! Knows subject matter and just very knowledgeable. I was always impressed that she could could explain just about anything related to biology.

The Easiest Bio class ever. Just study her study guides before an exam and youll be fine! I never studied and my lowest exam grade was a 93. Make sure that you take good notes coz all her esams/quizzes are based on her lecture. Ask questions for clarification. She's really nice and funny too!

One of the best instructors I ever had! She's nice, understandable, and most importantly she is very helpful. I have started to really love Bio because of her! Cindy, if you're reading this, YOU ROCK!!! Keep up the good work :)

She is an AWESOME teacher. Nice, funny, helpful, SOMEWHAT easy, and interesting. Class lecture is boring kinda but lab is fun!!!! MANY field trips. Tests are a bit, study guides don't provide all answers, you need to memorize a lot. Lab is easy, just do the work. I got a B in the class cuz I didn't do too well on the Tests/research paper. MUST TAKE

If you really want to learn biology, take this professor. She is so devoted and passionate about the subject and wants you to be too. She's explicitly clear on her expectation and give out study guide before exams, which are extremely helpful, so just stick to it and you'll do fine. The class is super easy if you truly want to learn!!

A great choice for those wanting to take a lecture and lab. The class was extremly easy and fun. Professor Shannon is kind, caring, and fun. I never thought I was good at science but I suprised myself.

She is one of the best biology professors i've had. Her lectures are fun and exciting. Keeps notes and study the study guides, you'll easily get an A. She offers several extra credit assignments, take advantage of that. Loved her class!

Fun class that's pretty easy as well. Cindy is really funny and makes the topic interesting.. even for non bio majors. She gives study guides for the tests which really help and most of the labs are done off campus. Definitely recommend her!

Best professor i ever had at mt sac. She really knows her biology and for non bio major, i recommend for you guys to take her class. Her class is very interesting and the labs for this class are field trips. There are many work for this class so be prepared for that but i still recommend for people to take her.

She will be your next favorite teacher;one of the few professors that are enthusiastic and PASSIONATE about their profession. I wouldn't buy the textbook, she gives us lots of "gifts" (a.k.a study guides) and even if you just pay attention during her lecture, she makes it interesting enough to remember for test day. Take her you won't regret it!

Awesome. Not a fan of biology but Cindy keeps the atmosphere fun and really teaches quite well. If you don't slack, you'll do very well. Don't ever hesitate to take her, she's awesome.

Not an easy A but not extremely difficult either. 4 exams, a final, & a lab final. Quizzes in both lab & lecture. Cindy does well to prepare you for exams if you do the sample essays & study the study guide. We had two papers, a research paper & an Ecology paper. Labs & lectures were fun. Don't slack off & you'll be fine. Ask for help if needed.

Love her! She's talented at simplifying complex topics. Her passion for not only the material, but life in general is so inspiring. Most of the things I learned from her had nothing to do with Biology. Simply watching her PREACH was a learning experience in and of itself. I HATED ecology, but Dr. Shannon really got me to see the light.

This class was by far the most fun I've ever had learning. The way the class is taught will make it way easy to learn. Exams are test taker friendly and the Final Exam was genious.

This was an enjoyable class. However, there are two major papers and she does not grade them easy. I would have gotten the A if it wasn't for that. I was so close to an A and worked so hard. The field trips were fun and rewarding. I would recommend this class but be prepared to work hard.

Professor Shannon makes the class exciting and fun. She loves teaching and cares about her students. She plans a lot of field trips, hiking, camping, beaches, insect collection, plant collection, and learning all about wildlife,& how to identify plants, birds, reptiles, amphibians, etc. Keep up with journal! Test are fair & study handouts & PPT.

Cindy Shannon and her Bio3 class were life (and major) changers for me. Cindy is an awesome professor, easy to learn from, interesting, and really funny. Do you love being outside and having fun while learning? This is your class! Her tests and practicals are straight forward and the learning done in class is very hands on. Favorite class ever!

Cindy Shannon's Bio 3 class was a really amazing learning experience after taking her class you learn to appreciate nature it was a difficult class for me because it was a lot of memorizing you do not want to miss any of her classes you will fall behind! She's very passionate as what she does STUDY FOR THE TEST!

Cindy is very nice and helpful! She teaches quite fast though since there is a lot to cover, but if you have background knowledge on biology, it should be a breeze. Her grading is not hard at all.. Would totally recommend!

Professor Shannon is simply amazing. She is very passionate about ecology which leaks into her lectures and makes them worthwhile. Yes, her assignments are tough, and her quizzes and tests tend to be tricky. However, she always gives a clear study guide AT THE BEGINNING of the unit to prepare you for exams. Also, she gives lots of extra credit.

She is so amazing. the only thing that you need to do is study for the exam and quizzes and you'll be fine. take form me a kid that doesn't like to study a lot. Also, the SI sections actually help you to understand more the lecture and the field trips are great.

I took this class not knowing what it was and just to get GE out of the way. I would have to say this was my favorite class out of 5 that I took. She's funny, easy going, gets students participating, and makes the class enjoyable while actually learning the material at the same time. From my 5 classes this was the one that I have never been absent or late to. As long as you pay attention and attend class, you won't have to study as much outside of class to do good. Homework is light and is not busy/annoying homework, it's more what you've learned and stuff gone over in the class. I took Bio- 3 and we got to go on many field trips to different places and it was the best experience I think I'll get from any class.

Took this class for for GE and it ended up being my favorite class. You get to really know the people in your class, fun group work. As long as you show up to class and pay attention you won't need to study much outside of class. The only class I showed up to with perfect attendance. Field trips are part of the class and they are the best thing and great experiences!

One of my favorite teachers at MTSAC. You can really tell she loves working with students and loves her job. Her lessons are very well presented and straightforward and pretty much everyone does well in her class. She is also very easy to talk to and will help anyway she can. I can now name most of the plants I see on my drive to school, thank you.

Extremely manageable! Gives you study guides for every unit. Since it's honors, there are about 2 projects and 3-4 discussions. A lot of extra credit opportunities. Some labs are pretty fun. 4 exams and drops 1 of them. Exam 4 is really easy/Exam 3 is probably the hardest. Study the ppts/lecture notes for lecture quizzes/exams. Lab quizzeseasy.

Tests are all from the lectures, all the lectures are on her website. Must go to all field trips.

Professor Shannon is a great teacher! Very knowledgeable in her field! Exams are formed from lectures. Be sure to not miss class or any field trips or you will not pass this class!! If you are a science major like me, she is a must take professor! I will absolutely take another one of her classes!!

If you are not an English speaker, I highly recommend you NOT to take her class. Her study guide is just pages of keywords, it will not help you to understand exams. You will need to write your own study guide. Three of my friends who are also English learners dropped with Ws, and I stayed her class got a B-.

Bio3 is the easy Bio2. If you've taken Bio2, this class is a BREEZE. If not, it's very manageable. Cindy is a loving professor and respected. The criteria to get an A is clear and she's a lenient grader. If you fall behind, that's on you because this class is light on homework. Don't wait to finish your journals on the plants. Google is your friend

Theres a lot of material to go over. Its much more indepth than BIOL1. Shes a tough grader and deducts a good amount of points on labs, quizzes, and the rough draft for the research paper. She gives plenty of E.C to make up for it. The class grades consisted of 10 As, 7 Bs, 1 C and a few drops. Gives little time to do exams. Exam 2 is tough.

Pretty easy class, just attendance matters. If you miss a few labs in a row it's easy to fall behind because there's usually a quiz on the last lab. But she reviews the material immediately before. She gives lots of extra credit if you answer questions in lecture and sometimes for just being there. Labs can be turned in late until the last week.

A very knowledgeable and passionate professor! I really enjoyed her class despite not being good at any science courses all my life. You do have to make sure you're paying attention and taking notes, however she goes over concepts in several different forms to make sure you understand. Overall a fun and engaging course!

Professor Shannon is very considerate and patient. She gives multiple extra credit options and as long as you study pretty well, you will be okay. She is sooo incredibly awesome! Please take her!

Professor Shannon is absolutely amazing. I enjoyed every bit of her class, and she also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities so don't worry about failing. She gives a study guide weeks in advance for the exams, and before every exam she gives out extra credit through jeopardy.
