she's energetic but I hate the course material so that makes me really bored in this class. it's not her, it's the material. if you hate poetry, dont take this class.

I love Cindy's class. She is so energetic about the material that she covers. I had to rearrange my schedule so that I could be able to take her course. She is willing to go to lengths to help you out. She gets to know the names of her students.

Cindy was an amazing professor. She took the time to get to know her students by name. Years later I still run into her and she remembers me. This was the only class I had tears in my eyes when it ended. A remarkable woman.

She is a great proffesor! She is very excited about what she teaches, making the class enjoyable and sometimes humourous. I strongly suggest taking her class as you will enjoy it and the work load is appropriate.

I dropped Shakespeare to take Can. Lit. and boy am I ever glad I did! Cindy is the best Eng. professor I have had. She truly cares about what she is teaching and makes the material interesting.

Presents material in a clear and entertaining fashion. Each lecture is always a lot of fun. Deeply passionate about what she presents. Considerate of those who are in her classes.

Get her to read the prologue to Wordswoth's Lyrical Ballad (I believe it is) and she will break down in tears every time. Its touching, really.

Amazing professor! I used to really dislike English classes, but Cindy made me actually enjoy them. She could be crying one minute while reading something, and be completely composed the next. Very passionate about what she does. Highly, highly recommend!

I absolutely love Cindy's classes! She makes the three hour lectures fly by with enthusiasm and interesting lessons. If you get a chance, take her course! (as long as you don't mind waiting months to get assignments back)

Well, I think Cindy is great. She's funny and cute and just loves to teach english. she loves literature and relays that to her students. She wants people to do well and is very approachable. She's great.

Cindy is wonderful. Every class was like "An Evening With..." and she showed such emotion and bittersweet devotion to every poet, especially Lampman. I love listening to her. Every word that comes out of her mouth is captivating. Beautiful.

Cindy is the finest instructor I have ever been lucky enough to meet. She is a wonderful, cheerful person who places her students interests truly at heart. You have to work hard in her class, but learn immensely, and are greatly rewarded for your efforts. I am far better for having met Cindy.

Cindy is the most hillarious prof you will ever meet. She cracks the class up all lecture long. She knows her stuff like no-other, and makes learning INTERESTING! The reading load may be heavy, but it is worth every minute of it. She is phenominal, and if you have the opportunity, you should take her classes. :)

Cindy was great; VERY interesting class (when she showed up!) She missed quite a few classes, and very rarely leaves notes, or informs us! However, when she is in class, she's one of the best.

Overall seems to be fair most of the time, but found the material to be so boring that it was hard to even go to class...not her fault though, the course material was horrible

Canadian literature can be boring, but not with Cindy Soldan... makes every class interesting and tells lots of stories

She takes a while to had back assignments. Is heavy with the poetry. She reads aloud often. I like her and I've taken 3 classes with her. I'll take a 4th!

Cindy is a fabulous teacher, she brings personal stories and experiences to help make the material being covered more interesting and relate-able. If you have an opportunity to learn from Cindy I would highly recommend it. She's fantastic, if only she did more of her own marking!

I am half way through my third year, and Cindy is still my favourite professor. She is enthusiastic, very helpful and kind, and I would take her again if I could. For the most part she makes the classes interesting and I enjoyed attending her classes.

Enthusiastic, approachable and an overall amazing professor! Definitely would recommend her. Assignments are clear and understandable and if you follow the instructions it's not hard to get a good grade.

Lots of small assignments and small tests - but it's an English course so it's expected. Easy course if you're looking to boost your grade. She's hilarious and makes grammar "fun." Sometimes includes class presentations - attendance counts for peer grading assignments.

Cindy is an absolute gem. Ive had her for 3 classes now, and she is the most understanding prof Ive had. If you are having troubles outside of school she is caring and empathetic, and is willing to help you in order to complete the course successfully. In-class assignments are very common, but I found myself looking forward to this class.

Cindy is adorable! She brightens up the room with her positivity and encouragement. I really enjoyed having her as a professor. Her feedback is minimal though, which made it difficult to improve my work. But, I would definitely take her class again and would recommend her to anyone!

Cindy is hilarious, and honestly one of my favourite professors I've had at my time at Lakehead. The class itself isn't too difficult but she does grade rather tough compared to my other first year profs. Overall, I always looked forward to the class simply because she was just an enjoyable person to be around and made the content interesting.

Cindy's a gem. Very compelling lectures. Her obsession with William Wordsworth is hilarious I love it. Gave me 4 extra points on an assignment just for coming and talking through it with her. She gets sad when ppl don't show up for class. She's very willing to sit w you and talk abt assignments before or after grading.

Lovely lady. Was scared of her at first, but I talked to her after class a bunch and she grew on me. Lectures are straightforward and she posts her notes which 90% of English profs here do not do. Assignments were kinda challenging for me and required a lot of analysis in the readings. Overall she is amazing and kind but has a tough outer shell

Dr Soldan was a great english prof! Very few assignments throughout, no exam in intro to academic writing. One or two tests on D2L. Very long turnaround with marking, and feedback was lacking.
