ok, if you have this teacher, get out of the class before its too late, horrible teaching style, everyone in my class is failing and hates her method of teaching, who is angered at the poor performance of the class, you think shed perhaps realize that its her fault we are failing... AVOID
AVOID, never use text book, notes are unclear so are assignments. 80% of students failing, makes you think she would re-think her teaching?? waste of time actually.

Refuses to ask what she wants to know, confuses everyone by asking broad questions that can go anyway. Demands acedemic writing from essentials or marketing class, a first semester course.
AVOID this class at all possible! do not get this teacher. probably everyone who has written a comment about Cindy were all in the same class. The whole class im sure did horrible because she is confusing and tells you what she feels you should know, not what the text book says. do not take this course!!
really bad teacher, doesnt even know what she is talking about herself, let alone she is teaching. Get out of her class ASAP!!

Enjoyed her class. Enthusiastic about mundane material made it a fun class. She asks broad questions I can't answer, but it's not detrimental to understanding the course. Funny anecdotes and seems to genuinely care if we're understanding everything. Compared to other teachers at UCFV she's higher quality than most. Her marketing expertise is great!
bad professor.....

Cindy is actually a good teacher. She is a bit of a hard ass, and expects a lot from people, but if you apply yourself you will do fine. You can tell she is a mom, as she doesn't take BS from anyone, but is there to help if you need her. Very knowledgable. She is there to teach so thats what she does.
Good teacher. Always there during office hours. Replys back to emails fast. Study for exams.. she gives the answers.

She's not an easy prof, but if she sees that you're working hard and want to learn she'll help you out. Don't take her if you want to skate through a course.
I've had cindy about 3 times now.her class is easy but can get boring. she tries to make lectures interesting..online quizzes are easy and straight from the text. Assignments& papers are easy, go in for help during office hours, you'll do much better on your papers, finals can be hard, but she does give the answer. Overall awesome teacher.
I did well in her class, but she tends to go on about USELESS crap. Yeah shes trying to relate it to the lesson, but its a waste. 30 minutes talking about toothpaste... yeah wtf man. Shes good at the start of the semester, near the end its like... i cant beleive your STILL talking.
She doesn't like International Students in her class! Her teaching style was bad, also made me so nervous in her class,I had to watch time from time to time--3hours feels like 3 years...want to cry...
very helpful..will keep u engaged..
Worst prof ever! The information in her examples are less reliable than Wikipedia. Avoid her if possible.
She hated us aviation students!!! dont take her. avoid if possible!!
If you study she will give you good marks, her exam are little difficult but interesting. if you do good presentation she will give you very good marks.
She doesnt really care about her class. seems like she wants to leave class faster than I did. only reason i did decent is because i taught myself.
Horrible. Plays favourites
Horrible class!!
Horrible class.
Cindy has very high expectations of her students for a first year course. She can be very vague with her expectations, but if you talk with her outside of class she is very helpful.
She's sometimes a little vague on what she expects on assignments but she's very clear in class and keeps everyone interested in the lesson. Love her!
Intesting class that uses variety of examples and stories to keep us from boredem. Exams are quite hard and short; really need to know the concept. Assignment due dates are said once.
She's very intelligent and classes are interesting and not mandatory to attend. The midterm is insanely hard, but the final is easier. We had 4 case studies which were not explained well at all, and a group project. Warning: Her "questions" at the end of your presentation are more like an interrogation.
Take her for a first year challenge. She expects a lot, but you are rewarded if you put in the effort and truly THINK about your work. I personally don't like her style and didn't learn tons in class (though the anecdotes were good). Midterm/final are very difficult, again, just got to put in the effort.
Cindy is a beauty. Yes she is cut throat and will call your bs but she is really knowledgeable. As for the case studies, yes they aren't very well explained but all you have to do is talk to her during office hours and she will more than clear it up for you. Yes she interrogates you during your presentation but she teaches you valuable skills!
Cindy is disorganized and very unclear with instructions on assignments. She often confused due dates and expected us to hand in assignments before they were due. However, she is very knowledgeable and her lectures are decent. Cindy actually teaches the materiel, and she gives honest feedback even if its harsh, unlike most professors.
Fantastic prof. She expects a lot from her students but it's always fair. I would definitely take a class again with her. She actually expects her students to WORK unlike a lot of other profs who just let the "lazy students" sneak by.
Cindy is awesome! She makes the classes fun to go to and you learn a lot. Case studies are a pain to do but if you BS them you can pretty easily get a good grade.
Makes lectures interesting, her assignments are fairly easy. The midterm and final exam are difficult- you must study! She really tests your knowledge. Overall, Cindy is a great professor to take for marketing. You come out really knowing/understanding the content.
unempathetic, tries to freak you outmake you feel uneasy in class, testsassignments are unclear
Assignments are as clear as mud and she won't clarify "it's for you to figure out". Final project is the same and she completely changed it at least 5 times providing no help causing you to scramble. Tests are 100% definition based no matter what she says and give no study guide or help on where to start. If you want a good grade don't take Cindy..
Personally, I LOVE Cindy, she is hilarious and some of the things she says will make your day! However, her teaching techniques are not the best in my opinion. She is kind of disorganized and her explanations are a little confusing. She does not like answering questions outside of class. If you work hard you work hard you will do well
Not clear on what she's looking for in homework or projects. She makes lectures bearable to listen to with her hilariousness and inappropriateness
Cindy is honestly amazing. I love her. She's very strong-headed though and if you don't like that, you probably won't like her. She is a tough marker, and isn't always clear on what she expects from her projects. SO ask her for help! And do it sooner rather than later. If you ask for it, she's amazing and very helpful.
Cindy is a funny prof but she is by far an easy one. She makes the tests super difficult she puts stuff on there that she covered for 2 mins in the lecture. Cindy also has a big group project which takes at least 4 weeks to do and when presenting she stops you in the MIDDLE of your presentation to give criticism on how you should have done it.
Disorganized at times. Although there are some interesting stories, her recounts of them are not always completely factual (do not blindly believe their accuracy, do some research). Cindy irrationally seems to expect you to execute assignments/projects exactly the way she would do them, with little deviation (even if your way is in fact better).
Tests include questions barely covered in notes and/or in class. Interrupts during presentations to say you're wrong, resulting in her coming across as a "know it all", which is irritating when you're right. It seems like she's a nice person though.
I really enjoyed Cindy's class, I feel like she did a good job of explaining concepts and making sure we all understood, her stories are funny, and she has a good sense of humour. Her assignments are vague, wasn't too confident turning in the first one, but once she gave us feedback it helped to understand what she expected on following assignments
One of the best Business Profs at UFV!!!!!! could definitely recommend.
Cindy is a great teacher who makes class a lot of fun. She doesn't hold your hand, but she is there for you if you need help. If you want an easy A, her classes aren't for you. She expects you to use your brain, research and seek help if needed. If you don't, well, that's your problem, not hers.
Cindy, Cindy, Cindy.,.she is a goddess!!
Love Cindy, She is hard, but extremely helpful. She won't tell you the answers but points you in the right direction, Let you strategize your work and assignment. Basically prepare for real world...
Cindy loves what she does! She is inspirational due to her stories and work background. But requires you to make eye contact throughout the whole lecture - if your not then you are instantly picked on! Be prepared to laugh at her jokes to get on her good side! Easy material for introduction to marketing.
Cindy Stewart is awesome. Her lectures are relevant and fun, usually breezing by. I miss her lectures and will definitely take a class with her again if I can swing it. Fair group projects. If you slack, your team can fire you, survivor style. She gives you all the criteria and materials to be successful, the effort, however, is up to you to bring
Extremely tough grader. The late midterm exam WOW. She mentions she will include an extensive review and all of the questions asked on the late midterm exam will be from the review she gives. Avoid this class, take it elsewhere if you care about your GPA. I strongly urge you to avoid this course at all costs. Nice person.. Horrible teacher.
She is nice however she has a very confusing outline for her cases and projects. Examples of the cases are half done so you can't rely on them. On top of that she is a very hard marker!! She stated very clearly that she would provide a review that covers all questions on midterm. But she just gave 100 powerpoint slides from her in class lecture.
Cindy is a nice person but her test and exams are very poorly worded and not specific of what the exact answer is to the questions. Also for the group project it was not clearly taught to the class of what the requirements were needed to pass and she did not provide a proper guideline to follow for the project. Would not take again. Try to avoid!
As a person, she is very sweet and wonderful. As a professor, she is the opposite. She can be unclear at times which made the group project very difficult. Nothing was clear, no advice until the end of the presentation ( not the advice you want, trust me). I would recommend another prof or just wait another semester for another prof. Beware .
Cindy is funny, but she's a wild one. Lectures- more like personal rants. Course review notes are not at all whats on her final. Very unorganized. Seems to favour a select number of students and be extra harsh on others. I listened, stayed quiet, kicked butt on assignments, & did very well. Weekly online quizzes are simple. Beware of group project!
She is a disaster. Unclear about everything and didn't care what she mentioned in earlier class and changed all the things the way she likes. Didn't care whether you got any other classes and she will post some important files or notes through her FB and Twitter only and hoping you can get it immediately even she asking you to be her office.
Cindy is a great prof with real world experience and a real passion for marketing. This class and her classes in general are a lot of work, are hard, and at times frustrating. Great preparation for the real world and if your scared of a little work then a career in business is NOT for you! Highly recommend and there is a lot of value to takeaway!
I have never been more discouraged from the field of business in my life. Her intro to advertising class and her unclear expectations have convinced me not to take advertising as it would mean I need to take a class from her again. When you ask questions she is rude and unapproachable and is extremely rude when giving feedback.
Good class. Ge ready to put in a good effort and you will do fine. Cases can be tough but make sense once you meet with her and she guides you. She cares and wants her students to be prepared for life after uni. Lectures are engaging. If looking for a class to sit through without working and hoping for easy assignments or final choose different
Unclear guidelines and a lack of examples of what a good project should be is incredibly frustrating. The midterm was asking for incredibly specific definitions of concepts that were barely mentioned or ignored and even if you catch them you'll be confused again soon as she constantly stops the class to tell you that the textbook is wrong.
Cindy is very cute for her age BUT the worst prof I have had so far in my 2 1/2 years f university. Poorly goes over key concepts in the course and expects you to know everything for the midterm. Ask for mandatory textbook attendance but barely uses it and says most of the information is either wrong or outdated. I wouldn't recommend this prof.
Very enjoyable lectures to attend, she's funny and engaging - lot's of real-life stories. Midterm: Hard to understand what the mc questions were asking, but very fair written portion. Group project was a bit unclear at first, but she provides good feedback if you ask. Overall: Expects a lot from first year intro class, but good grade is attainable.
Cindy is tough, but fair. You will not get through her class by skiving off, and you can't rely on group members to get you through, either. She is clear in what she expects, and her standards are high. But if you are willing to work, your grade will reflect it.
presentations are not relevant to the text book. Confusing mcqs Sometimes the class gets interesting but too boring at most of times. Professor doesnt know how to approach the topic and she is just talking about Mc D all the time. No relevant examples are provide. All examples stick either to Apple. She expects us to know everything before class.
The text book that is provided to us has no relevance to her slides .Does not provide us with the appropriate information of the material
Cindy is clearly very knowledgeable. Problem is, she knows that all too well. Its led to her being a little bit of 'know-it-all' and she comes across as egoistic. I don't recommend taking her if you are not a great great student as she herself admit she only cares about her good students and she expects a post graduate level of project work.
If you are serious about taking marketing I would highly recommend looking at a different school. UFV has a terrible selection of profs for the upper level marketing courses. Cindy is determined to ensure she makes your life as miserable as possible. Thinks she is ALWAYS right, and it's her way or get out. Seriously disappointed.
She's knowledgable in her course material but a disaster prof. Avoid her as possible.
It is possible to get a good grade in Cindy's class, but even when you have succeeded in getting top marks she makes you feel like your work is still sub-par. She is very hard to get good feedback from and her teaching often contradicts the textbook she uses. Use her office hours to clarify these things with her, her way is always right.
One term group project, guidelines arent very clear so make sure you visit her in her office for advice, hard midterm but final is a lot easier and if you do significantly better on the final shell match the midterm mark, chapter readings every week, lectures are engaging and shes pretty funny. Would take another course with Cindy
She goes over power-points and the textbook isn't used much but it's mandatory. Overall she can be uptight and will call out people but she's helpful and provides good feedback. I would suggest going to her for help on the group project and even the first case study. The final is much easier than the midterm.
Cindy is extremely knowledgeable in her industry and it was an honour to be taught by her. I really struggled to understand why so many people critiqued her methods of teaching and grading. Well - in the real world of business you will NOT be babied. If you work hard and have good studying habits you will do well in her class. Cindy is fabulous!
I found the workload manageable. She is an extremely fair grader. If you show up and do the work you will do well in her class. If you're just wanting to get by with minimal effort then her class is not for you. She values education and wants her students to succeed. A likeable teacher who provides feedback and help if needed. I would take again.
Cindy grades very fair, she expects a lot from her students and expects outside the box thinking, you will not skate through this class on basic thinking principles. The coursework is unlike anything else seen at UFV. Expect to put a lot of hours in the work, and don't expect your work to be 100% correct.
Shes very high on herself but otherwise a good prof. Shes very easy to get in touch with after class and really helpful to. Dont expect to pass her class without putting some effort in.
I was told by many people to avoid her at all cost but I took her Bus 326 class and it wasn't too bad. I had to take her again for the Bus 327 and thats when things went bad. 327 was the most frustrating class I've taken during my 4 years at UFV, She made her "weekly assignments as confusing as she could and provided little to no help. Avoid her.
Makes literally a repeat bus100 class ridiculously hard. Class avg midterm was a failing grade! As oppose to my bus100 class avg of mid 70's! Take with another prof.
Course could be a lot easier but she makes it pretty complicated but kinda interesting. Group project was a lot of work and she is really harsh during the presentations with her comments and questions. Would of respected her more if she wasn't so conceited.
The semester isn't even over, but I had to warn you guys. This prof is horrible. She is so rude & so unhelpful. She called me out for not paying attention, when I was really just writing NOTES from HER class. Her assignments are SO unclear & she provides little help. Im putting 110% effort & it is still not enough for her. Would NVER take her AGAIN
She's very knowledgeable in her her field of work, however, she doesn't know how to teach at all. It's only a first year business course but she treats it like I'm going to become a professional marketer. If I were to pursue a career in marketing, I wouldn't recommend taking courses from her. She makes things more complicated than they needs to be.
Avoid her at all costs in your lower level business courses because you won't have an option in the upper level courses. Extremely unclear with her expectations of what's required. If you are serious about marketing, consider switching schools for that degree as you can't avoid her in upper level marketing courses.
I GO TO CLASS FOR THE SAME REASON I GO TO THE ZOO, TO OBSERVE WILDLIFE. 50% failed the midterm. Once we began answering questions on the midterm she went around and patted us all down and put her hands in our pockets even though she already made us empty them. Told story of throwing her work laptop out a window to get a new one; cause she's "cool".
Horrible professor. Lectures are somewhat entertaining and interactive; however are completely irrelevant and useless to the group assignments that you have to do in this class. Not helpful at all if you want to review your midterm or your assignments. Avoid her if possible.
Very frustrating, but if you go and see her during office hours she will help you. She really pushes her students which I appreciate. If I could offer constructive criticism, as I know Cindy reads these, revise the case samples to make them clearer. She does work to make the lectures interesting, though, and seems to care about her students.
I really enjoyed her class. At first I wasnt as interested and was doing pretty bad, I failed the final but towards end up semester I really enjoyed her lectures and the group project/presentation. I think the project really helped my understanding towards final. So even though I was failing first half I got a B final grade.
Not helpful and unclear about what she wants. She is a tough grader and rude to students. She constantly insults and condescends students. She is completely disrespectful to students. Choose another professor.
She wants everything to be according to her, doesn't matter how hard you work, she won't put any efforts into understanding if it's not according to her. Go to her office, if you want extra marks, otherwise avoid as long as you can.
Pretty much the most confusing prof I have ever had and always contradicts herself. We have to read the textbook before every class but constantly tells us that it is wrong and her notes are right. Tests are based purely on her notes and examples. But hey at least she tries.
I took business 120 with Cindy, and she acted more like it was a 3rd year course than a first year. Very tough grader, and unhelpful with her feedback. I would not recommend ever taking her for anything.
Cindy knows her stuff. However, she can be a little bit tough for a 100 level course. It is good because she wants to lay the foundation for upper level courses but it is on the tougher side. If you do your work and study you will be fine. Make sure to go to her for help on assignments and group projects. Overall pretty good.
She is very knowledgeable in her field for sure, but does not know how to teach at all. She changes her mind a lot and does not give students the best information regarding exams and case studies. Case studies do not need to be read to finish the case. Lectures could be done in an hour and a half but she drags them out way too long.
She treats her advertising class like a real world advertising firm (company shirts and all), so it's a great way to experience the advertising world to some extent. If she leaves lots of comments on your paper, it's a good sign! Get a B+ average and you get to skip the final exam. its 100 questions MC anyways.
Cindy is a professional teacher with a lot of experience in the marketing field. However, when I tried to reach out to her when I missed class one day to know what I had missed, she told me that she wouldn't help me and to ask a classmate. Cindy is a tough teacher but she has great feedback and tries her best to make every student successful.
Cindy is one of my favorite professors. She seems like a hard ass but she actually has a heart of gold. She is rooting for everyone to do well and loves to see you try hard. If you work hard you will surely get a good grade! If you slack and show up unprepared she will not be impressed. I will be taking more of her classes for sure!
Stay away from this one. Unless you enjoy rants about how men only go to Cactus Club to look at young waitresses and those same men are addicted to illegal Cialis. Yes, she has actually ranted about this in class. My life at UFV will be better knowing to stay out of her classes.
Cindy is vary vague on what she wants out of the assignments she assigns. She marks hard and her midterm and final exams. They are really hard. Her multiple choice are all double negatives. Think you know what you are doing in this course? Wrong. You will get your midterm mark back and feel defeated. Take other prof. Save yourself
Cindy is a pretty flexible teacher in terms of submission of assignment but she just wants what she expects. She lives in a world where every one is marketer and is only looking for the stuff she has spoken in her own words. She lacks patience and can point you out in the middle when you are presenting in front of the class. LOOK FOR A NICE TEACHER
Cindy was super difficult. Her facts in class are super out dated and not relevant. We did an assignment for a program that ended three years ago. She tends to be super confident in her wrong answers. For teaching a marketing class it would be nice to have a prof that was up to date on technology and social media. Facts from 2012? lol not relevant
Cindy is quite nice and a good lecturer. Unfortunately, what she says and what the textbook says often dont align, and you can be tested on things she said once and arent written anywhere. Her assignments are very vague and her expectations are too high for a first year class. You can do okay but the class is too difficult and ambiguous.
Cindy is very knowledgable in her respective field, however it's probably in your best interest to avoid her class if you despise tedious work. Lots of group work, mini assignments, and tons of online material to purchase. Cindy has been around since UFV was a college, and as such, many reviews aren't written in disdain, but rather honesty.
She knows her stuff, but makes an entry level course much more difficult than it needs to be. Lots of online stuff, so be prepared to always have homework.
Prof with high knowledge level in the subject area. Expectations are too high for a basic level course.
She knows her stuff but as a person, I find her to be arrogant and quite condescending.
Her tests are made more to trick you then assess your knowledge. The course content, her slides, the textbook, and what she lectures are 4 completely different things that she constantly contradicts, and who knows what is right when its comes to tests. She made this course way to hard for a first year course and honestly made me hate marketing.
definitely one of the worst profs for a first-year course, gave terrible feedback and didn't really help students succeed. made lectures last 3 hours which weren't helpful for the midterms or final. made a first-year course harder than it actually should be! save your gpa and do not take this prof!
Cindy is not a good prof. She was very rude and made the class more difficult than it should be for an entry-level course. With the move online due to COVID, exams/midterms were extremely difficult. Her feedback is not helpful and she does not give clear answers to questions, especially for the term project. It is not worth it, save yourself!
Cindy is one of my favorite profs at UFV. She loves class participation and is great at reading a room. If the students aren't engaged, she will switch it up to make it better. She is also extremely fair. You get the grade you work for. I highly recommend taking her class!
Cindy is a total gem. She is super tough, but she truly wants her students to succeed. She will make u work for your grades. But if you go to her office hours & communicate with her, she will help you out as much as possible to help you. She gives great feedback & is such a fun prof. I have taken 2 of her classes now & I can't wait to take more.
Always seemed rather irritated by questions asked by students, very condescending, and honestly not very helpful. It isnt hard to get a good grade but I feel as though I have wasted a semester by taking a class in which I felt scared to ask questions, resulting in a very "self taught" course. Smart lady but online support and organization is poor.
Cindy is the worst teacher very unorganized. She changed the syllabus 3 times. Her syllabus said attendance not mandatory but without telling the class said that your participation mark was based on attendance. I got As in all the work and she gave me a C- participation when I attended every class. Please save your money and stress, don't take her.
Im in my fourth year, took her in my first year and the longer i am in university the more i realize how truly awful she was. she is the WORST prof i have ever had. avoid if u can
Cindy gets a bad rep, yes she grades hard but if you ask for clarification and put in the effort you'll get a good mark. This is my third class with her and I can honestly say that she really wants you to succeed but she makes you work for it- she actually wants you to learn! Follow her guidelines for assignments exactly and you'll be good
She is an adequate professor. She is not great but not terrible. If there are available seats in a different class I would suggest you take it but if you end up in her class then get ready to kind of getting what you paid for. Her lecture videos are old, very long, and boring but informative. Her lectures are also long and boring but informative.
Probably some of the most content I have ever had to digest for a course and for a 100 level course is very ridiculous. Poor time management in class. Sets unclear and strict guidelines for assignments and in-class exercises. Notes, the internet, textbook, and lectures often have contradictory data. One of the worst profs I have had.
she was mean and just told me to that I didn't read the instructions when I asked her for help and I would have to send her screenshots of the instructions to prove there were holes in them
Cindy is the most disrespectful professor I have had thus far. She will gaslight and attempt to humiliate you in front of the class. She truly needs to reflect inwards and decide if this is the persona she wants to continue reflecting onto her students. I pray if you have to take her. Good luck.
Make sure she likes you! The midterms are fine and if you read the review notes she gives out, you'll do fine, but the final seemed like half of the content wasn't even learnt in class and you'd just have to guess.
Her lectures were pretty boring and sometimes hard to follow. She wouldn't properly explain anything in her lectures or her videos. But the midterms and final are very easy. The group project isn't bad either, just make sure you always talk to her for feedback on the project.
If you chose this course with this instructor, good luck, and make sure you have a proper base before taking her's courses, she posts a lot of long assignments that you may need more time to finish, and mid-term is not easy as well, as for the final let's just say may god be with you.
Cindy gets a bad rap, I believe, from high school students who are unprepared for university life. Overall the course is not hard and, although she could be more clear about the grading criteria for the final project, this was a very easy course. If you show up and participate, you'll do just fine. She's of my favorite professors.
One of the most difficult professors I've ever had. If you ask a question she doesn't like she will embarrass you in front of everyone. If you ask for help she will tell you that you didn't read instructions properly and to re-read them. Treats this first year class as a third or fourth year class which is ridiculous. Calls on students to answer.
She explains everything horribly and expects everyone to know exactly what she's talking about. Super disorganized and every time you ask any sort of question, she makes you look stupid. Can't admit when she's made a mistake. If you're currently debating, run while you still can.
I had Cindy for BUS327, she is very knowledgable. She really cares about the success of her students if they are willing to put in the time and effort. She has taught me a lot.
Everything is confusing, lectures are useless, and do not give you the information you need for the test. All instructions are unclear.
Cindy was a amazing professor! Unlike most professors, she would respond to emails efficiently. She was also a fair grader, and kept the lectures going. She found ways to make lectures engaging like breaking the rooms out to breakout teams. I recommend you taking this class you can learn a lot!
She is definitely tougher then most university professors but that is not necessarily a bad thing. You will learn a lot. She provides you with everything that will be covered on the two midterms and exam. Midterms were a combination of multiple choice and short answer. Final was all multiple choice which was tougher.
Super rude and seems to hate her students and being a teacher. Expects too much from students considering it is a first year course.
Absolutely terrible professor. Tells us to stand up and write things on the board without exerting any effort into explaining exactly what she wants, then proceeds to dunk on us when we're wrong because that's what she wanted the entire time. I can understand why she is divorced.
She could be very rude! I'm sure she knows it but enjoys it. No clear criteria but her expectation was sky high. Avoid at any cost.
She's like any typical professor; yes, her lectures are long, but they're not boring. you need to understand that her textbook is only used to reinforce what she is teaching in class. so make sure you take notes on what she says and try to fill out her supplement material. at the end of the day its only a marketing class.
She is knowledgeable and offers great information during lectures, so I can't say she is a terrible prof. However she is tough on her students. She offers little direction on the major project and gets upset when you ask questions or need clarification. She can be passive aggressive during class activities. Try to show effort and you'll be ok.
Cindy is a great professor I have taken 323 and 327 with her. Her knowledge about the topics is great and is always up to give feedback and room for improvement. It takes a bit to understand the formatting she wants for her assignments but once you get a hang of it just put in the work and you will be happy with the course and the grade.
Cindy is one of the worsts professors at UFV. Her expectations are unclear. She's also extremely condescending. She seems to dislike students...then why teach?!? I wish UFV would listen to students' feedback and do more to weed out professors like her.
Professor Cindy is incredibly rude and dismissive, She makes it hard to ask questions or enjoy the class. Avoid her at all costs if you want a positive learning experience.
Cindy is condescending and her expectations are unclear. As a third-year student now taking BUS 120, I've experienced professors who teach much more challenging courses in a way that fosters student respect. She cannot teach or create a safe learning environment... and this is just an introductory business course! There is no excuse.
Cindy's knowledge in marketing is top tier. As a prof she is horrendous. This class has a on a term long project broken down. Her instructions are extremely unclear, and the samples she provides are outdated. She yelled at the entire class for doing a poor job, but if your instructions are not clear, then of course we will not do well. Do better.
Cindy knew her stuff but was extremely rude. A basic question was asked and it's often followed with a passive and condescending response. I have felt unsafe to speak up in her class. It would have been different if it was once in a while but she was rude every time to everyone. Her expectations are crazy.
It is so difficult to succeed in Cindy's class due to her inability to teach. Her expectations are unclear and her examples are outdated. She's extremely unwilling to provide additional guidance, and then has a meltdown when students perform poorly. Cindy needs to read these reviews and reevaluate her teaching and evaluation style.
Cindy's class is challenging, but the content is valuable. Use Unstuck ai and the provided materials to stay on top of things. Attend lectures and participate - it pays off. Not an easy A, but doable with effort.
Terrible professor. Avoid like the plague. Especially if you're a first year student, she'll leave you with an unfavorable impression of higher education. Most professors at UFV are great. She seems to be an outlier.
She is a good professor , idk why everybody say she is not, let me tell you why she is a great professor , coz some of the students just take courses with the motive of passing while her mindset is that students learn something if they have taken this course,I would recommend her class to everyone! She is good ! Btw I am an international student :)
Worst prof. Everyone knows any rating above 1 star was written by Cindy—they all say the same thing: ‘She gets a bad rap from unmotivated students, but she's great if you work hard.' I just wish she put as much effort into improving her teaching as she does into writing her own reviews. Just goes to show her ego matters more than improving.
Cindy is not capable of understanding different learning styles. Her ppts are messy, hard to understand, and she expects word for word memorization. She is fully aware that students do not like her, she brings up her rate my prof score IN CLASS and yet she does absolutely nothing to improve her teaching. She blames the students for not trying hard.
Terrible. She doesn't know how to teach and is unwilling to improve. She is extremely condescending. Also, she doesn't even hold a PhD. It makes me wonder if she is even qualified to teach at a university.
She is very knowledgeable of the material. However, she can be condescending towards the students, and was not helpful outside of class. When reached out to for help/clarification, basically said to look it up yourself. Then received a poor grade. Not helpful. Unpleasant class.
Today my daughter was taking her online course & I could hear the way that Cindy was speaking to her students in the background and I am completely appalled. She was extremely condescending, used humor in poor taste, was angry. I am shocked that she is a university teacher, and will encourage my daughter to avoid any classes with her in the future.
Cindy makes an easy class so much more difficult with the way she teaches things. Very unclear what she wants from you and just responds rudely when you try and clarify. Calls on people at random, gets mad when they don't know the answer word for word. Most people are trying hard to do well and get a good grade but she makes everyone hate the class
Basically the same as all the other reviews. Thankful I took the course online, can't imagine how she is in person. Trigger warning for suicide jokes. Expectations for the group project are unclear and instructions are all over the place. Poor time management, simple in-class activities take 30+ minutes for a 5 minute activity. Avoid at all costs
Super unclear, lecture material does not match the textbook. Course site is completely full of folders within folders, and then the files are corrupted and unable to open. I think she's probably good at marketing and accounting, she should have stayed in that profession. It would've made all of our lives better off. BAD at teaching.
horrible curriculum, does not state what is needed of students correctly in assignment/project documents. Term project documents are all inaccurate, if you base your assignment off of the docs you will be ripped apart and given a bad grade, even though this is the instructions the students are provided with.
Cindy's classes are very long, even online. She always goes overtime when classes are scheduled for 3 hours. Wastes time. Very assuming when it comes to grading, accuses that you didn't put effort in when her instructions are unclear and hard to follow. Kind of ruthless when it comes to marking and feedback. Horrible professor, do not recommend.
Took this course online. It was super disorganized, important info was buried in scattered PDFs, making it hard to follow and succeed. She might be better in person, but online I wouldn't recommend. I hope she improves the layout and takes it easier on her online students. It felt way harder than it needed to be.
Can safely say, worst teacher or professor I've ever had. I don't usually review but for Cindy I have to. She doesn't teach well, she has the knowledge but she teaches it so poorly and is so disorganized that it makes the course unbearable. She then will dunk on you for inevitably doing poorly due to her teaching. Avoid avoid avoid
Cindy is by far the worst teacher/professor I've ever come across. I struggle with how she makes very crass jokes about self harm. Her feedback is rude and basically makes you feel like a failure if you didn't get something correct off the bat. Avoid is correct. Very condescending and overall doesn't like to encourage students it seems.
By far the worst prof I have ever had. Every assignment submission is a complete shot in the dark. I could follow the instructions to a T and she would give a bad mark because I didn't READ HER MIND. It is not worth your time. Do anything you can to take this course with a different prof. Even if you think you're a good enough student, don't try.
I thought a lot about writing rate my prof review but they weren't that bad that gave me enough motivation to actually do it but Cindy is different, some prof's are bad what she is on a different level. Her course is so disorganized and unclear. I did my assignment lay-out based on the example she provided and she gives me crap on spacing..........
Instructions for projects are confusing and files need better organisation, BUT her lectures are awesome. Expect to work with classmates, not just sit and listen. She rewards effort but WILL call you out if unprepared. She's a character and very knowledgeable. If you can take feedback, ask questions, and participate, you can handle this class.
Terrible prof, especially for a first year class. So rude and dismissive. The course content isn't difficult but the way she presents and marks is miserable. So rude as well I requested individual grading and she claimed it would be anonymous but she started insinuating that I requested individual grading to my group for no apparent reason.
Cindy is rude and condescending. She made jokes about self-harm, which is not only inappropriate, but potentially triggering for students. Her expectations are super unclear and she isn't willing to provide clarity in class or via email.
Just don't. Take a class with someone whom you can respect and who respects you. Just makes fun of people, thinking she is untouchable.
So hard attending her class and her work, better not take if you need good grades
My experience was students who were in my class were lazy or immature and did a poor job on assignments and Cindy would call them out for it. The students are not ready to be in university and disrespect her and then wonder why she is the way she is. She does not understand that she makes an uncomfortable learning environment calling students out.
