Do not take this class, you will learn more reading the darn book than going to her class, the worst class I have ever taken.

WOW..... her test are supper hard. I didn't know what to study for her test. Her chapter quizes are hard too...No reviews, and the only review she gave was in PICTURES for the final. A word of caution....DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS unless you are really supper smart.... I am willing to admit that she is a really intellegent person but her teaching skills

Be prepared to be bored out of your mind. You can get just as much from just reading the textbook than from going to class because she just reads off the presentation. She apparently doesn't realize that we learned to read in grade school. Her tests are easy if you just study. Don't recommend her.

I didn't realize why she had such a low rating but then I figured it out without ever meeting her "face-to-face". I took her class online. it isn't easy, but you can do well if your willing to learn on your on. She makes A LOT of mistakes on her online quizzes and tests and isn't specific in explaining without smartass remarks. Take someone else.

Tends to pay attention more to the front students of the class and will pay no mind to you at all if stuck in the back. She usually gets in front of notes while she talks and presents the slide which makes note-taking tedious. Students should be VERY smart and have prior knowledge on the course. Painfully quiet and fails at trying to lighten mood.

If you're doing bad a month in, DROP THE CLASS. It's not you, it's her. I thought it was me and planned to take this class again the next semester with her again to see what else I could do. After reading all of these reviews I saw that she's the one who had poor presentation! Endless hours of reading and studying is needed with her! GOOD LUCK.

Dr Wedig is the most useless professor in the biology department. Arrogant and condescending, you are much better off taking a class with anyone else. She gives horrible advice, anybody that has taken her regrets it and does not want to have anything to do with her afterwords. Stay away.

Dr. Wedig is by far the worst professor I have yet to take at this school and I have no idea as to how she is still teaching. She is unhelpful, rude (with a serious attitude problem), disorganized, and condescending. She does not teach well and often yells at you for asking questions or answers them with a very condescending tone.

Good luck, if you are wondering why your Bio lab manual cost 58 usd it's because of her sell out to gain the money from being the author of it. Awful lecture, demands attendance in the form of clickers which she doesn't know how to work . you'd be better learning biology from a highschool student

The online bio lab manual is crappy! Corrects wrong answers & I have to do the quizzes for hours because I read the pre lab exercises and the. Took the pre lab quiz and it's all off! We are all spending money and working for our grades here!

I lost a lot of points for lab during online quizzes because the lab manual she authored isn't at par. No pictures or diagrams during lab quizzes or post lab quizzes

Lab lecture, lab actual exercise and lab manual lacks sufficient informations needed for the online quizzes, lab ex quizzes. Lab 8 ex asked a lot of numerical data that weren't done or discussed either. We are losing points for our final grades. Hear and listen to us please! We spend time and spent our hard earned cash

Bio TA didn't discuss any lab data but those were asked in the onlin lab exercise & lab quizzes. It is so frustrating, exasperating to work so hard, spend time and money on school and yet feel duped and robbed of needed informations. Feels like we all are just kidding ourselves here! Total waste!such an insult!

Scary looking, unapproachable, very strict and sometimes holds back informations like we would take quizzes and tests but the answer from those we didn't hear or did in the lecture class. Same with the lab class, no sufficient informations given for the lab exercise quizzes and post lab quizzes

LAB TA left mid way through class, she was nice, approachable, helpful & generally a warm inviting soul, but the one who replaced her during mid term exam was a total shock, extremely rude, acted superior than everyone else, uncaring and was always in a hurry to dismiss the class, would not even answer emails.

She never puts her powerpoints on blackboard in time. It screws you over in class as she gives clicker questions. Her tests are hard af and the questions are never specific enough. She loses your assignments and then says you didn't turn them in and gives you a zero. Her lab manual is super bad and has lots of mistakes.

Had her in bio 2 lab. Worst experience ever had in a lab, would much rather have had a TA. Was always very negative and unapproachable and SARCASTIC. Did not give second chances if you made a mistake. She was horrible in lab and I can only imagine that she's worse in lecture. If other options are available, choose anyone but her.

With all due respect, the most difficult professor to learn from, me as well as my colleagues found it very hard to pick up what she was lecturing. Material on the exam and on the notes are different aside from a few questions. I learn better on my own than with her lecturing.

I took this professor for my BIO class that I needed for credit I ended up withdrawing for certain reasons. Now, she is straight out strict when taking her quizzes. You will take it via bb with a webcam. My main issue were her lectures in which I found irrevelant . We barely used the book and she would just read powerpoints during lectures.

I took her for bio 1 which was a mistake. If you have a hard time paying attention do not take her. she just read from the powerpoint which can be really boring. and you have to really study the power points and it helps to read a bit from the textbook (which you can find a pdf online) if you want to pass the lockdown quizzes and in class tests

She is a very tough professor. There are 4 exams, online activities, quizzes and 4 discussions and clicker questions. Rarely gives 100s, and quizzes are tough even with help from sources. You will need to memorize each powerpoint of 120+ slides to pass the exams. Do not recommend taking this class unless you are going to vet school.

Just run. I promise you will be sorry if you don't. Avoid her at all cost, a professor shouldn't make GENERAL BIOLOGY harder than it should ever have to be. Terrible teacher and doesn't care at all for students. She only teaches because she has to. No love for teaching. If you care at all about your GPA, run. Just. Run.

The worst possible professor to get. Quizzes are locked down with a camera, she tests you on things she never teaches. Must be great at knowing every specific detail to get an A.

The weekly 10 question, 10 min, monitored quizzes that she gives cover way more than what was taught in lab and in the prelab. I always wonder where I am supposed to get the information that I need to know for the quizzes from if she isn't providing it to us. I emailed her about it and I never got a response back.

Her quizzes are on LOCKDOWN BROWSER AND ARE ALL RECORDED! You feel lost because she makes it seem like you have to know the material even though its an entry level course. 13 quizzes all recorded. Midterm and final are monitored and you have to wear lab coat, goggles, and gloves. SHE DOES NOT PLAY AROUND.

My advice is do not take a class with her. She is nor understanding or accessible to student needs. This year we were all switched to online due to the pandemic and she was not helpful through this. She reads off the power points, which is not helpful at all. Look for a different professor (animal nutrition). The class is great, not the professor.

I had to take this class online due to the pandemic and it was AWFUL! There was no live of communication at all. We had a Teacher's assistant and it was even worse. The rules were HIGHLY strict considering we are going through a pandemic. Work load is crazy hard and ALOT without consideration of ANYONE. DONT TAKE HER CLASS RUNNNNNNNNNNN

This classes was so hard! It started off in person, then went online part way through the semester. She double standards her self and I feel like I constantly have to clarify with her and other classmates of what it due and when. DO NOT take her. If you're a BIO major it may be fine but those that aren't will most likely feel lost most of time.

I believe Biology is hard as it is, but Prof Wedig makes it 10x harder. Shes not a bad professor, but she is a very harsh grader. I dont usually struggle with science courses but Prof Wedig definitely made me stress. Most of your grade is based on 22 quizzes that are all with lockdown browser, 10 min for 10 questions. Not an easy A.

Overall the class seemed fairly simple at first but as time went on it progressively got more difficult. There is quizzes every week with lockdown browser and you only have 1min per question, and its not enough time. She really does not care about her students. The final and midterm are also extremely hard to pass.

Honestly, this class is ridiculously hard for no reason. She does not help you once so ever, leaves no room for any error. There are 2 quizzes every week and the only thing she gives you to study are PowerPoint lectures where all she does is read off them. Everything is on lockdown browser, and never she announces anything. This teacher is a joke.

Took Professor Wedig for bio 1 lab, do NOT recommend. She barely ever responds emails. Does not give second chances to remake something. You will write lab reports and is a very tough grader. Weekly you have prelabs due and she is very specific on what she wants. You can work hard in this class and still not get an A. Does not teach, good luck.

Dr. Wedig is one of the most hardest prof I've ever taken! I took her Fall 2020, so everything was online which made it harder! She is overall an okay person, but when it comes to teaching that's a different story. Her exams are very detailed and those who take her will have to study extra hard. Her lab reports had to be very specific. :(

Does not answer emails quickly. Toughest grader for the most smallest details. Is not clear on due dates, I had to constantly ask her when grades were due. Honestly if at possible avoid this professor. She does not teach and I didn't learn anything.

Cindy Wedig did not even attend the class. Her TA was teaching the lab. TA was very strict about what you need to complete to get in to class. first few weeks were fine until they did not put due dates on the assignments which caused the class to miss an essay. not good at teaching and doesnt keep up with deliverables (due dates) DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Took her and regretted it. I met with her during office hours and made me feel dumb. I asked her a question and she then explained it quickly and asked me the question I asked her. The bottom line, you need to have the brainpower to pass. She is nice and makes you think that she will work with you, but she won't. Avoid if you can tbh or wait it out

Worst professor ever. She does not care about her students at all. She takes literally days to respond to emails. Her grading is very harsh evem if you did everything that was asked. Labs are simple, but she does not explain it to where everyone understands. Her quizzes are very hard, including midterm and final. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!

This the WORST professor I have ever had and that's saying a lot because I have been to TWO colleges. She is genuinely terrible. Her due dates aren't clear, she grades discussions on a rubric we can't see, assigns a new chapter/quiz/lecture every day. I've complained to the DoS and department but they did NOTHING. It's like UTRGV doesn't care. RUN!

You have to read a module that she writes every week and take a quiz using lockdown browser 10 question in 10 min some of the questions are not included in the module. Just don't take her . this class will 100% hurt your gpa. she only does "lecture" classes for attendance and does not teach at all during that time. in fact, she makes the students teach each other through presentations. she simply gives out work and a million quizzes and long, glitchy videos. the school ignores complains and reports from students and does not fire her.

I'm typing this to save you money. If you have to take a class for your degree plan and see Cindy Wedig as the only available professor then wait until the summer or next semester to take the class with somebody else. It's not worth the trouble. She will grade you harshly and not even care enough to do anything about it. Please. Stay away from her.

I'm currently taking Dr. Wedig for A&P 1 and she goes very fast in lectures. She goes a slide per minute, 70+ slide PowerPoints. She also just reads off the slides verbatim, so her lectures can be very boring and fast-paced. There's also PLTL where she has everyone take a quiz every time we meet-- around 10 questions in 10 minutes. Overall, no.

Cindy is fast paced and reads off a 60+ slide powerpoint. Information can be outdated or never mentioned which can be confusing on her test, quizzes, and PLTL that are up to date. Don't think about emailing her as it takes days or you'll get ghosted. No feedback on assignments until it's useless. Basically there's no teacher which is extremely hard

If I could her give a lower score than A 0 I WOULD!!! By far the worst educator I have ever came across. The first red flag was the first quiz she gave on the first day of class. YES YOU READ IT RIGHT. THE FIRST DAY. She gives so many unnecessary assignments and rushes through PowerPoints. She's there for the check, not the students for sure.

Took Wedig for anatomy 1. Hated it. Very fast-paced, long powerpoints, doesn't reach back out to students. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND. Doesn't care for students. Please find another professor if you have to take this course.

Lazy professor. Her syllabus is from 1 yr. ago, & has not been updated. Gives 4 exams + a final exam. If you ask for help, she blames you for not having good wifi or an updated device. She makes you present every week and tells you last minute that you have a presentation. 3-4 chapters every week that you need to learn. Disorganized.

She was never on top of her lectures and went through power points without explanation. She constantly speeds though chapters and doesn't explain reviews for her exams. You will also need to buy the book and mastering in order to complete her assignments. To learn in this class you will have to read chapters on your own and live on youtube!

Compared to all the other BIOL 2401 professors she's the worst and doesn't accept any extra credit plus her communication is terrible and her powerpoints were confusing. You really need to know about anatomy before even taking the class.

She just reads the PowerPoint she could put a little more effort while lecturing. She is VERY rude for no reason does NOT have manners. I would not recommend taking her. There's a fine line between smart and intelligent, Cindy may be intelligent and know her stuff, but she is not smart, she cannot and should not teach. We already knew what our grades were before the deadline to drop but this professor made a mistake in the grading causing our grades to drop between 7-12 points. This drop in our grades was after the deadline to drop the class causing us to miss that deadline. We made a case with the dean, HORIBBLE prof.

BIO 4400: Is a harsh grader. Assigns multiple assignments throughout the semester that she vaguely explains in her 14 min online lectures. Takes 1-2 days to respond to emails and is very vague and short in her responses. NOT NICE. She has failed to make assignment submissions available many times. Avoid taking her at all costs.

Horrible professor. Emails you back really unprofessional. Always blames her students for HER MISTAKES. You're basically on your own with this professor. DO NOT TAKE HER. Changes your grade without warning. Even the PLTL Leaders taught better than her. If you can, take another professor or wait because it's not worth it. TRUST. you'll thank me.

I never wore my seatbelt while driving to school because I wanted to ---- before making it to her class. She is the worst professor ever. DO NOT GET HER. She should be retiring, but just in case, do not take her class. She made mistakes and did not fix them or care about us, but the only ones affected were the students.

Proffessor Wedig read every powerpoint word for word every class. When asked about some info on the pp she would just reread the slide. She would remind you of upcoming assignments and take a while to respond to emails. Our exam reviw was only a single question uploaded into a discussion board that she would answer just an hour before the exam.

Finally she is gone! Woohooo!

I made an account to write about how HORRIBLE she was. She never responded to emails, her tests didn't make sense and all she did was read word for word on a 200-page PowerPoint. If I had to choose between getting hit repeatedly or taking her class again, I'd rather get hit. DO NOT TAKE HER.
