Organized and easy
very easy..class is pretty boring though..gives study guides..very easy grader!!
She is a great teacher who is good at lecture type classes. She is very fair and accomodating of a student's schedule. Class is boring but she is a good professor.
easy class, 3 test 2 writing assignments and some extra credit opportunities. no reason to get less than a B.
sweetest lady ever, very helpful
Nice and helpful, easy class.
Very easy class. If you can't get a A in her class then drop out of college. She is helpful! 1 midterm and 1 final. 1 paper which is based on participant observation. Read all the articles!!!!! and don't miss any class. She will mark down if absent!
Very nice lady, friendly, and offers help to any students in need. I learned a lot in her class. 2 exams-midterm and final. 1 paper. Exams are essay questions based on reading and class discussions. Easy A. She's very flexible on grading and due dates.
She is a very nice lady and very helpful. You don't necessarily have to go to her class but everyone does anyway. Information is taught in a discussion format.
Took the online course and got an A, but I made sure to post a message at least once a week, if not more. Very nice lady, very helpful, ready to answer Q's, interesting course, definitely fun to take. :)
Classes are extremely dull and boring but teacher is extremely nice and flexible.
very nice teacher. lectures are not fun, tests are fill-in and essay, but dont worry. its not that bad.... she is very flexible and leanient. trust me, i dont like to learn about monkies either!
She is very helpful and nice. She is a very good teacher and easy. She is an easy grader on tests and papers.
Awesome teacher!! May be a bit boring, but it's an easy A if u're willing to try your hardest in the class...if u need help with something, she's always willing and makes u feel comfortable
Attention all nerds
Online Class: Easy A. Lots of material but should only take about 6 hours a week. Basically tells you what essay questions are on the tests.
Keeps the class interesting. Easy-to-follow teaching style. Interresting assignments.
Very nice teacher, no exams, only 1mdterm paper, and final paper, easy grader. Highly Recommended!
It has to be the most boring class I've ever taken. Overall a pretty easy teacher but I would not recommend the class at all. Her lectures are dull and all the videos are from the 70s or 80s. Horrible class and I wouldn't recommend it.
I loved this class. She is not too hard of a grader and is so organized and clear about everything. She makes it really interesting and is totally helpful as long as you ask. I recommend her highly!
easy grader, wonderful lady, lectures a little dry but she will totally help you with anything you need. A total LIFESAVER for me! Thanks Claire!!!
Easy Lectures, very nice, always willing to help. Will delay assignments for you if needed. Great Teacher
if you were enrolled in 12 units and were debating whether or not to take 15 units, this is the class you would want to add. you pretty much have 2 weeks to do 1 hw assignment, which is pretty cake. study guides for exams are provided. even extends hw due date if you really need to. nice lady
AWSOME PROFESSOR! I TOOK THE CLASS ONLINE AND SHE WAS VERY WONDERFUL AND HELPFUL! EASY CLASS AND VERY FUN ALSO, YOU GET TO LOOK AT FUN VIDEO CLIPS ONLINE AND ITS VERY INTERESTING! DEFINITELY TAKE HER!!!!
Very good teacher, passionate about anthropology. I thought she was WAY too lenient with the class, allowing assignments to be turned in weeks late, but I guess some people like that. Highly recommend anth. 1 with her
The discussions we had in class were very thought provoking and challenging. She actually copied the text and put it on reserve in the library for the class. The material we read was very influential for ppl who didn't know much about anthropology. She was a very patient and understanding woman. I learned a lot from the class overall.
A good , interesting solid teacher. Soemtimes the lecture start getting as bit boring and you will be checking the clock though ! Shes very helpful and understanding if you have a personal or medical problem and just be upfront with her about ti. I recommend Merrifield, Stokes, or Kettner instead for anthro if you can get into their courses. Trust me-I'm a major.
Claire is one of the best professors at Saddleback. She really knows the subject and is passionate about teaching. I would definately recommend her over the other anthropology teachers. The work is not super easy, but you will learn a lot.
A LOT of work! 4 essay/project assignments, midterm/final essays(6 pgs long), tons of reading every week, 2 weekly online responses, EC. Half the articles are interesting, the others aren't unless this is your major. Teacher is very organized, & thought provoking. Very good teacher if you can do the workload. If u do the hw, you'll get an A.
Be prepared for a lot of work, but it's relatively easy & there's plenty of time to do it all. Required to go to the zoo on your own. Gives a week grace for all work. If you have any questions she's very helpful. Lectures and videos are pretty good. gives study guides before tests.
The most articulate/intelligent teacher I've ever had. There is a lot of reading, but it's all interesting. There are only two graded assignments: conversation partnering and a language ethnography final paper. She's pretty awesome and pretty much what I aspire to be academically.
Her online anthro 1 class rocks. The class is really interesting and the assignments are easy but so informative and fun to do!
She is a subjective grader; meaning she doesn't tell you how she grades or why she gives you the grade you got. We had 6 writing assignments, and at the end I still didn't really know what she expected. Very vague, and incredibly boring! It's not hard, but it is a lot of work.
Her online class is ridiculously hard. I came out with an A but I had to devote so much of my time to her class. There is a ton of reading and you have to make copies of this thick packet with a bunch of articles she makes you read. If you can, take the regular course with Merrifield.
I admit, there is a lot of work in the online class. But it was all interesting and she is always very helpful if you need help. I highly recommend taking this class.
I took the online class. To be honest this class took more studying time than I expected. It felt like an applied english class: you read material, then incorporate it with mucho research information into the term paper. She expects discussion board weekly and you prove your HW knowledge there. Midterm=paper, final=paper, & 2 additional papers.
I took her online class and, although there was a lot of reading, in comparison to some of my other classes it was fairly easy. The discussion boards aren't bad, the assignments weren't too difficult, and her tests are easy if you did the study guide and studied. She's very lenient with hw (you have 2 weeks to finish it) and she's very helpful.
Extremely helpful. If you have any problems she will gladly give you an extension on work. Lectures are easy to follow and discussion boards are not bad to keep up with.
Really Helpful. Will Gladly give you extension on work. makes things clear. good teacher. A++
Well-organized class. 3 test and a field work assignments. Attend class, take notes and you'll do fine. She gives a study guide for each exam which is a big help. Puts her lectures on Blackboard so if you miss something, you can always get the material. Gives points for attendance and extra credit opportunities if you need the points.
Highly reccomend! She's very charming, sweet and understanding. I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. Stay on top of your reading (which is there a lot of) and do the papers and you'll do fine. Excellent teacher, go for her!
Thank you, Proefessor Silva!
I loved this class. I took it as a requirement but ended up learning a lot of interesting stuff. This instructor is VERY clear and organized. I have taken a lot of online courses before and this was the best by far. Highly recommend.
took the online course. be prepared for a lot of work. she gives you 2 weeks to do the work, but if you do it on the second week she docks points. grades fairly easy but is very particular for what shes looking for. NOT by any means an "easy a". be ready to work. 6 pg final, 6 pg midterm, 5 pg paper. have fun!
Took the online class. A lot of reading but subject material very interesting. 2 eassy tests and paper. Would recommend the class to anyone who wants to gain a better perspective on the cultural world.
The class isn't difficult. Readings are mandatory and discussed in class the next time we meet. 2 Essay tests and 1 paper. Lots of films.
Clear and helpful - good teacher. Material was interesting and unusual not just the old cultural Anthro stuff. Good class.
She was a great professor. I really enjoyed her class. We had to keep a blog and write a final paper. During the class we had a lot of interesting discussions. She really cares about her subject and it is evident that she enjoys what she is doing. I would highly recommend her.
Amazing class. This class is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and become a more advanced critical thinker. She is an amazing professors because of her wealth of knowledge and because she treats her students with a great amount of respect. She is one of the professors at Saddleback that make this school more than just a community college.
Online class was amazing. Read great ethnographies, which you can get by without doing except for skimming once. I personally didn't read them until after the class and got an A on every paper and discussion board posting. If you even try A LITTLE, this class is a piece of cake. She is SUPER nice, smart, and VERY understanding. Take her. Learn & A+
Claire was a great teacher. Took her online summer course & got a B. Her powerpoint lectures are very clear and you learn a LOT. She gives extra credit assignments to help boost your grade. Responded to emails right away and was always super friendly & understanding. I would take her again in the future for sure. Rare to find such a great teacher.
She always has interesting material and real world examples. Started talking about the material outside of the class, using examples because they were so interesting and relevant. Excellent professor. But students were often disrespectful, arriving or leaving half way through class. She shouldn't be so tollerant of this.
i took her summer online coarse and i never opened the book and got an A she is very helpful and is there for you when you need her, there is a lot of reading though online
Very structured online class. Professor Cesareo-Silva lets you know exactly what's expected and is very fair with grading. If you study the lectures and do the test essays ahead of time, you should do very well in the class. There were discussion board posts due every week, 3 exams, a primate observation, and multiple extra credit opportunities.
She's really nice but sometimes her lectures are really boring! In general, her exams aren't hard and she grades very fairly. Just know that a lot of reading is required to get by in this class.
Took the course online... It was actually really interesting! Reading was not necessary and she was extremely helpful and replied to emails fast! Taking her again in Spring for Anthro 1. Highly recommended!
Awesome professor. Online classes are really organized, she's always there to help, responds to emails very quickly. You're never just 'on your own' like a lot of online classes. Very little text use, 1 long zoo essay, but actually fun to do. If you want a teacher who definitely knows her stuff & has a passion for what she's teaching, take her.
Two tests: midterm & final. Gives study guides for both. One paper that's actually kind of fun to write. The class is pretty easy, but you still learn a lot. I definitely recommend it.
Class is pointless; all obvious information. 1 Midterm, Essay, & Final ( graded pretty harsh ) She uses the excuse 'i was sick' a lot, and says 'right?' after about every sentence. Okay class, i guess.
Very interesting class. Claire is a wonderful teacher and I really learned a lot from her. Extremely kind and helpful. I have taken many of her classes and highly recommend!
The best teacher I ever had. Really cares about her students and how we do in the class. I had a lot of problems this semester and she really worked with me, which is more than I can say about other teachers at Saddleback. I definitely recommend taking her class.
Claire is a really great teacher, and is super nice! Let's just say you have to be an idiot and not try at all to get anything lower than a B. She is laid back and grades pretty easy. (Idont know what the person 3 below me is talking about. states the class is easy with obvious info., and then states he didnt do well?)...trust me claire is the best
CLAIRE IS ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS AT SADDLEBACK! she is very sweet and makes the information presented clear and interesting. TAKE HER CLASS! oh and she really doesnt use the excuse that shes sick that much. And even if she does, i like not having class every once in a while! take claires class! pretty easy A!
She is clear and pretty fair.I took the online summer 8 week course and there is no room for error. If you are consistant and just do the work not only will you learn something but you will receive a descent grade. If I had to say something bad I would say she was a little critical on the grading but it was an online class so that is understood.
Claire is a really good teacher. Do the reading and put in a little bit of effort. You will do fine.
I feel she gave far more assignments than I would expect to receive in a class like this, but she didn't give any quizzes which some students like. Lots of homework, but you'd have to be really dense not to get an A on each one; She's a very easy grader. So it was tedious, but easy.
This 8 week online summer class was a lot tougher than this website stated. LOTS of reading. Loved the class but did not like the delayed grading. Didn't get grades for material submitted for more than 3 weeks. Subsequent grading wasn't timely enough to avoid doing all the extra credit for fear of something ungraded not being an A.
Wonderful class and professor. Very interesting material. It really changed how I think about the world. Highly recommend.
I took her Anthro 2 Online class. She gives you study guides so tests aren't too bad. Discussion boards are a must and helps your grade. Offers 15 points of extra credit. One midterm, one final, one project. Just read power points and do discussion boards every week for an A. Replies quickly to emails too and very involved at Saddleback.
Awesome professor. I've taken a few of her classes, both online and in class. She works with the students on questions and makes sure you get the materials. Doesn't ask too much on exams or projects, and gives guides to study before hand depending on the class. Fun classes and open to research project ideas. Definitely great professor to take.
This class is an easy if you do the work. Three tests each w 2 essay questions which r told before the test, weekly discussion boards, and 1 paper. Loooooved this class!
This class was fantastic. I learned so much and it really opened my eyes to things going on in the world. Very interesting readings and topics. Professor Cesareo-Silva is so helpful.
I took the online course. participate in the discussions each week. 2 tests each with 2 essays(you know the questions ahead of time). One 5 page research paper(daunting but not too bad). She isn't a tough grader but you do have to do the work(generous extra credit though). I got an A.
Her online class was good, but don't pair it with something like an online philosophy course if you still want some time to not worry about HW in summer. Gives some EC opportunities, max 15 points. Discussion posts every week, but you get a leeway week (didn't like that, makes it easy to procrastinate). Only take if you are willing to do the work.
This was the first college class I had ever taken online&in general. She is very helpful&if you read the lectures and at least skim the chapters of the book you'll be fine for hw. Study guides are straight forward and if you know all the terms youll get an A on all the tests. Research report isn't as bad as it seems. I got an A. Good luck!
Great professor. Super helpful and prompt with replying to emails. Her power points are clear, helpful and to the point. Took her online class and even though she assigns many chapters a week her books are interesting and quick to read. Some may say she gives a lot of work but demonstrate effort and you'll be guaranteed an A.
I took this class online. A lot of work, but it?s not really difficult. Put in some time and effort and you will get an A like I did. I really enjoyed the topics and discussions and I appreciated how clear and organized Professor Claire was.
Claire is a super helpful teacher. Her online class was fairly easy if you follow the directions. You will need your book and you will need to study and do your blackboard posts. If you follow her guidelines, you will pass the class with a B or better. Her grading is VERY fair! Homework is not too tedious, but you do need to study for your A.
AMAZING teacher. she helped me get my grade from a D to a B. She is very helpful and is willing to work with you if you fall a little behind. Always responds to emails within a day or so. Shes super sweet and is very clear about what work you have to do and when it is due. i highly recommend taking her class
I LOVE THIS CLASS. This was my very first class at saddleback college and I took it online. It was SO INTERESTING and amazing this class was really awesome. Before taking this class I wasn't even sure what anthropology was, but after taking this class you will be very interested in the subject. The class was easy and loaded with great videos
Took her summer online course. Easy online discussions, readings, some vid watching and reading enjoyable text. Gives study guides for exams and extra credit. BSed my essay and still got an A. The only way she could make this class any easier is not to do anything. Awesome professor and I learned a lot. :D
A very interesting and easy online class! The assignments are all very reasonable, and if you do the study guides that she posts before the midterm and final, you will have all the answers you need to get an A. A great professor and a great class!
Its a pretty easy class but she updates grades so late. You have to put A LOT of work and she isn't very attentive but overall its a pretty interesting and easy class.
I missed a bunch of assignments and was sure I was going to fail, but then she let me make them all up for full credit and I got an A!
Extremely easy class everything is based off her powerpoints which doesn't always have everything so you need to take notes. Your grade is based off the midterm final and project.
The professor is helpful from my experience. Yes she does take a while to update your grades, so it's hard to know where you stand. Although I guess I would say this class is also "easy" there is A LOT of reading. Sometimes reading that is really boring or difficult to understand. You can pass the class, it just drags a little.
She is an awesome teacher and the class is super interesting. I really found it eye opening and highly recommend.
There is a lot of work in this class. The positive is that the topic is really interesting. The negative is if you are a horrible test taker you won't do well, I stunk at the tests. The book is VERY confusing. I had a hard time following along with some of it. Overall, happy I took this class, I learned a lot.
Great class. Really interesting and not your usual textbook coverage. You get to read about cool stuff like altered states of consciousness and body modification. Prof is really helpful and knowlegable.
Took this class online during summer, there's a lot of reading for it. The main points are from midterm, final, and bibliography(minimum of 15pgs) extra credit is given and the books were not really necessary.
I wasn't sure what to expect when starting this class but actually found it rather interesting. Claire is really nice and is always open for a class discussion. The topic of the class mostly covers language, and there are a few readings from the book to i recommend getting it. Overall all its an easy going, interesting class.
Culture & Language online. Super interesting! Very organized, helpful and clear expectations. you really have to keep up with the assignments and participation is huge. other than that its pretty easy and enjoyable class
Great class; very interesting. A LOT of reading but Claire is great about answering questions and clearing up misunderstandings!
Best class I have taken at Saddleback College! Super interesting. Amazing professor. Very clear, organized, and helpful.
BEST TEACHER EVER! Had her for anthro 2 also online and she is very clear and concise on everything. Participation is counted towards your grade but not much. I would HIGHLY recommend her!!!
The class was very interesting! The tests are pretty easy as well. Read your ethnography that she assigns and go to class! She is very sweet and helpful. I would definitely recommend.
Unpunctual professor..lessons were intersting, the material will NOT be boring. Today is 5/27 class ended on 5/23 she has not yet graded our project that was due on 5/4... All my other classes have posted my "unofficial grade" already. I've email-ed her before, replies very slow. (i have 92% right now, waiting for the essay to be graded)
Loved this class and the professor. Clear and organized. I learned a lot. Provides a study guide for the exams telling you exactly what you need to know. I highly recommend!
Teacher is super sweet and helpful. I had a tough time this semester and she helped me out a lot. Really interesting class.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. The class was fascinating. You should definitely take, especially if you are an anthropology major.
Fairly easy with two posts a week on blackboard. The study guide covers everything on the midterm and final including the essay questions. The instructions for the only paper required in the class aren't very clear. Lots of busy work but if you have time it's an easy class.
She is very sweet and such a lovely teacher! The class was so much fun, she is a fair grader, not super easy. The topic is so interesting! She makes great lectures and fun games too!
This was a really fun and interesting class. The professor is super nice and really helpful. She even lets you submit work late without any points deducted. A lot of reading, but most of it was pretty interesting. I would definitely recommend this class and others that she teaches.
Professor Cesareo is literally the nicest and sweetest teacher there is. Interesting class material, readings, & videos - a total eye-opener. 4 papers in the course and can be submitted late if you need more time and it doesn't hurt your grade. Posts all lectures. Study guides for mid-term & final are extremely helpful. She's amazing basically.
She is a really good teacher, just be ready to take notes on her power points. If you don't show up to take notes, you will pass, but it will be a mediocre grade. Her notes and test questions all come from her explaining things and showing movies because most of per power points are just pictures.
This professor is really cool, highly recommend her. Four assigned papers every two weeks, very easy. As long as you write the papers, you're set for a good grade! Lectures can get interesting if there is participation. Easy class!
Professor Cesareo was a good teacher, she is very clear about homework and gives you lots of lectures and videos to watch for studying, she offers extra credit which will boost your grade! The test's were tricky where she would change a word around, I didn't get the best grades on exams (3 total) but still received a B+
Does not believe in giving As on writing assignments. Seriously, 89s on each one. I took a hybrid class, so you pretty much read the whole lecture at home, go to class, and she reads the lecture to you again. Interesting content, just not a particularly stimulating class. There is no hw, 2 tests, and 2 writing assignments.
Claire Cesareo is a really good instructor. I found her class to be easy but also fun. I would definitely recommend her.
She is one of those rare teachers that changes the way you look at the world.
Very tough homework but read syllabus you will get A. She is not easy grader. One spelling error you grt 50% off of the total score on discussion
Good teacher. Gives extra credit. She cares about her students.
I learned a lot from her. She's an interesting and intelligent person. However, she is not open to hearing different viewpoints. In order to do well in the class, you need to regurgitate her opinions in your essays and various other assignments.
Got an A. Made you work for it though. Took the eight week course online. Two Essays, and three exams. Exams are tough so make sure you study the lectures and study guide. You won't find test answers online and the exams are timed. I never used my book.
I failed anthro at IVC and took it with her and got a B. She is an awesome professor and lenient with the grades. Took it online so lots of discussion board posts. There was 2 written assignments, 3 exams, and up to 15 points extra credit.
Professor Cesario is one of those really smart professors who can communicate what she knows. Fantastic teacher!
it is the best course in my life. a lot of interesting information. conversations with beautiful minds. I learned a lot from this course. the profesor is super nice and really good teacher. I will take any class she is in. she is the best
This class was a great experience, the reading assignments were interesting and there is a lot of reading involved. The midterm & final was the toughest for me. 50 multiple choice questions (true/false) and 2 essay questions. The multiple choice was tricky, the study guide helped very little.
It has to be the dullest class I've ever taken. Overall a pretty lazy teacher but I would not recommend the class at all. Her lectures are vague and the student who doesn't agree with her viewpoints she takes out in your grade. You're not allowed to be an open minded person. The course is over and still, don't know my grade.
I absolutely loved this class. It was really fun and the professor is amazing. So caring. Interesting lectures and homework. Recommend!
2 writing assignments, weekly discussion board questions, midterm, and a final are what makes up the grade. she's very clear about grading as well. you do the work and you'll pass, simple as that.
This class was great and I learned a lot. Loved the professor. Very responsive to questions and gives extensions when you need it. Highly recommend!
Great class! One of the best online classes I have taken at Saddleback. Very well organized. Interesting readings and fun assignments. Fair grader.
Prof Cesareo is an outstanding professor. Biological anthropology is fascinating and the class presents it in a way that is easy to understand. There are a few easy homework assignments, weekly discussions, and three exams. Very straight forward. Most of the exams come from the lectures and not the textbook, so study those.
Enjoyed this professor, the class was Witchcraft, Magic and Religion. Basically it is a survey class of strange religions. Very interesting. Attendance is not mandatory, however, you are graded on attendance. So if don't don't want to be hit, show up.
I don't know why other students keep saying that she's boring or dullest teacher but heck "NO". She's pretty amazing and give students an opportunity to pass the subject. This subject is alien for me but as long as you have studied, make assignments on time and participate. You can pass the subject! I highly recommend her.
Great teacher, puts everything you need on canvas. I didn't do the reading even once during the semester, but unless you're good at bs-ing you should. Gives great feedback on discussion posts and grades fairly quickly.
I took her summer online anthropology class and it was really easy. There was only a discussion and an assignment every week. There were only 3 exams, and they only covered the material over the previous 2 weeks. The essay questions on the exam were provided a week in advance. We weren't required to read or use the book at all so I advise to save $
She was a pretty decent professor. Homework was really easy, but the exams were actually kind of difficult even though they were online. They were all timed and even though I studied for them, they were still difficult. I recommend studying the lectures because that's what the exams are mostly based on.
Prof. Cesareo is solid, albeit does not interact much. Clear grading criteria, excellent lectures super interesting, and outlines everything in the study guides. Two exams worth 100 pts each have an essay component (2 quest) at the end, worth 25 points each. The study guide is your friend, because it tells you ahead of time the possible questions.
The lectures in her Anthro 2 class were really interesting and I learned a lot of new things. Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies was a great read and really eye opening. The text was ok. The discussion boards were interesting and you have to participate to do well. I wish the lectures were recorded on video instead of read yourself.
Very respectable and has very informative point of view on the subject material. This class required a lot of reading and was discussion based, so participation matters greatly. She is a very fair grader as well. Really enjoyed having her as a teacher!
Professor Cesareo is amazing! She really cares about her students and is understanding when things come up in your daily lives. She is also very helpful when you are uncertain about classwork! The material was super interesting and that made it easy to learn. Key to this class is to participate and show interest in what you are learning!
Prof Cesareo was a great teacher, I took her online anthro 3 (linguistic anthro class) you have to be motivated to keep up with the work, as long as you do that you are likely to get an A. Lots of discussion posts and reading, 2 exams that are essay based and one ethnography of communication paper. Overall good class.
She's super sweet and understandable. Prob one of the best anther teachers. The only thing that is hard is the exams. Although most of the points come from the essay questions and she gives those to you with the study guide.
I personally enjoyed having Professor Cesareo this semester. This entire course is completely lecture-based, so if you can't sit through 20-30 slide lectures and take notes I would definitely not recommend you take her class. Professor Cesareo makes you do most of the learning yourself, but overall I thought she was funny and very respectful.
I loved the class and her feedback on my research topic and paper. However, I have to say I was unsure about how to excel in critical thinking questions (which is why I think she's a tough grader). Your research paper is the bigger part of the grade, but the critical thinking questions help if you're on the border. She's caring and knowledgable!
Prof. Cesareo is fair, kind, and organized! Each week, the module had an overview with step-by-step instructions. She is clear about expectations and quick responding to emails. The weekly work can be a lot, but it's worth it; you'll learn a lot! Lots of discussions a final project, and essay questions for midterm and final. Attend live sessions!
I LOVED it and it is RIDICULOUSLY easy. One discussion each week, easy worksheets, one midterm and one final super easy. It is just so easy you can treat it like a hobby! The lectures shout how caring and hard working she is. This class is an amazing opportunity to stop being small minded and see what humanity has achieved. My fave class in 3 years!
Professor Cesareo is a great professor. She does not make her class too difficult, as long as you do the work you will pass the class with a good grade. There are lots of readings (that she provides) but it's not hard, you only have to buy one book, there are weekly discussion boards, one midterm and final, and one research project which isn't hard
Very sweet and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed this class. Online course consists of tons of weekly readings and a discussion board with at least three responses (aim for five). A multiple-choice midterm with small short answer essays and a research final along with a mc test like the midterm. Pick an interesting topic for your research!
Im going to lay this class out for you. Discussion boards and homework assignment every week. Dont procrastinate on the HW its very time consuming most of the time and difficult but usually an A for effort. Midterm and final both 2 short essay questions but she lets you prepare in advance. I got close to a 95% in the class but put a lot of time.
Prof. Cesareo, gives heavy exams and assigns not so important assignments just for the sake of giving an assignment to do. If you provide very thorough answers and even cite the lecture and sources to backup your ideas, you wouldn't still get the complete grade with no further explanation why you don't get it.
Prof Cesareo is absolutely the worst prof I've ever had. Have taken the class for credit. Claims she does not take hard exams and does not asks trick questions, BUT SHE DOES! Be ready to read a lot, especially specific dates for the occurrence of different things. She does not give full grade for discussions even if you cover a 1000 word essay.
Professor Cesareo is the best professor at Saddleback. She is clear and the topics for this class are all super interesting. There is a lot of reading and homework assignments but the assignments are easy to do. Highly recommended.
I really loved this class. The topics were great, the class was very organized and easy to follow, and the professor was super sweet and helpful. There was a fair amount of work each week because it was a short term course but it was doable and the work was fun most of the time.
I think this is a great class to take over summer, 3-6 hours a week depending if there was a test. She seems very kind and I would bet she shines in person. She gives you a study guide that is quite helpful, especially the essay prompts. WRITE PROMPTS BEFORE THE TEST! Only thing, she wouldn't give full credit on discussion posts and didn't say why?
Loved this teacher! Perfect class to take to get acquainted with Bio Anthropology! She takes her time to detail all lectures with her own breakdown of each chapter to help you grasp each concept, homework she goes over with you and if you at least attempt to learn it, she gives you full credit, she really cares for her students and this subject.
Professor Cesareo was a great professor! She was very kind and easy to contact. I also made a submission mistake and she let me resubmit late for full credit. She gave great feedback and cares about the success of her students. As far as the class, it was reletively easy and interesting.
She is an amazing professor. She listens to students when they reach out and does her best to make sure you understand. Her lectures are very clear and her assignments are all relevant to the weeks topic. Very fair grader. Deadlines are very manageable and stress-free. Definitely sign up for her.
This teacher is the worst, she assigns all classes online just like how it was during COVID. I personally disliked every single way she teaches because of one big thing, She does not teach. Horrible that's a good word to describe her teaching regiment.
Excellent course. I highly recommend this professor. There is a lot of material to cover in a short time period, however if you stay organized and follow the clear guidelines, you will do well and learn much of human origins and evolution.
She takes points off just to take points off. Her grading criteria is super inefficient and although I admired her teaching style, this was not an easy course to take when it really should've been. Her expectations of students are super vague which was unfair b/c I felt like my grade did not AT ALL reflect the hard work that I put in. Never again.
Really difficult and confusing grading. not sure what she is even looking for to give a good score as someone who participates in class and completes all the work I still got a B for a course that shouldn't be so harshly graded
A lot of reading is assigned but you can get by with just reading the lectures which cuts down the reading time by a lot. Easy tests and a really easy grader. Interesting subject material, overall had a good experience. Would definitely take again.
This class requires a lot of work, but if you stay organized and use study tools like unstuckstudy, you can do well. The professor is fairly strict but helpful if you engage with the material.
Worst class I have ever taken. Terrible grader that take points off just to take points off. Never responds to any emails and she consistently posts very useless assignments. The whole class you do not learn a single thing while she assigns many assignments assuming you to know about these pointless topics. Her final essay is horrendous. DONT TAKE
My only complaint was that the class was graded by a few assignments that were worth a lot. The lectures/readings were interesting tho. She's really nice too + has personal experience as an anthropologist. The feedback was a bit vague, but take initiative-go to office hours for further explanation. Don't skip class too much, participation is graded
1 or 2 assignments a week, typically a discussion + 2 replies (no word count) for some reason she always took off points on mine without feedback tho + a page long ws about the week's topic. quick emails and let me take a test early when i was traveling. 3 open note/book exams w 2 essay questions (she gives them to u beforehand). overall chill 👍
