She is a great professor. You will never get bored in her lectures. Make sure to read because you will have pop quizzes. Her tests are easy peasy as long as you read the review she gives you. Very funny and always cheerful.

As a freshman at ASU this class was by far my favorite and most welcoming! Claire makes you feel right at home and as long as you show respect she will show it back. When people did badly on one, Claire let us have 15 extra minutes with the study guide so we could earn extra points. You won't be sorry to take her!

You get two "freebies" as she says. miss two classes and no points against you. miss more then two and she docks five points after each absence.

Claire's class was awesome. I was able to get most the assignments done in little time, they are very straight forward and fun! She uses real life material so it makes it interesting and a lot of it is based off the stuff you want to learn within every topic. There are quite a few assignments but they are fairly easy.

All-around great teacher. She actually listens and cares. There is a textbook for the course but you don't need it at all. She offers 30 points in optional extra credit. Since it's a hybrid course, there's multiple assignments due every week, but as long as you pay attention to the schedule, it's an easy A.

The class are really interesting and very involved. I took her hybrid class so we only met once a week, but she had lots of cool and interesting videos online. The test are pretty hard but they are open notes and you don't need a text book for this class. She is really peppy which makes the class more interesting!

Easiest, most caring professor I've had. There's multiple extra credit opportunities. Assignments are almost always graded as 100%. Tests are online, open note and she gives an exact study guide for everything on the test. She puts all her notes online, no need to take notes in class. Claire McWilliams is a great teacher and loves to talk about her class with you. However, if you miss any assignments, good luck getting those points back. The bonus points help, but the assignments are the key to this class.

This class was fascinating and relatively low maintenance in terms of your grade. As long as you do the homeworks (which are extremely easy) and go to class you will easily get an A+

One of the best people you will meet. Truly cares about her students and she makes herself very accessible if you need her help. Her passion on the subject is contagious. Unlike most teachers you are given the online exam as a whole, so you can skip questions and come back later (which is rare). The "project" is a research assignment of a country.

This class was very interesting. Unlike some teachers, Claire's passion and expertise on the subject doesn't cause her to forget its a 200 level class unlike some of my other teachers in the past who grade intensely for a 100 level class just because they normally teach 400 levels. The nicest and most genuine teacher I have had in my years at ASU!

Claire is extremely nice and very accessible throughout the course. It's pretty writing and assignment heavy, so I'd recommend not taking her with another course that is going to expect a lot out of you. That being said, what is expected is clear from the get go and I would take her again if need be.

I took the hybrid, so only went to her class once a week, and that was the way to go. She mentioned that the other class had to take the geography quizzes in class, but my class got to take them online. Her lectures are really informative and funny. Lots of assignments, but the content is pretty easy so it's not hard to keep up. She's soooo nice.

2 online exams, 1 essay and no final. Small mini assignments about every other week which are easy to do, 30 minute tops. Her lectures are extremely inspirational and can make you realize a lot. One of the best professors at ASU.

I loved Claire in her TDM 205 class. I took the hybrid class, so I had an in-person lecture class once every week and then had a lot of online responsibilities. I would say this is a class that requires your efforts to come to class. Your assignments and tests are all done online, but your attendance was a grade and necessary to pass for sure.

Weekly writing assignments, usually under 2 pages, geo hunts (which have been my favorite), global attraction paper that is pretty lengthy but easy to do if you get started early enough. Overall fun class and amazing teacher!

I LOVED Claire! Had to take this TDM class for a criminal justice elec and it was amazing. Study for a few map quizzes and learn about tourism and it's easy to pass. She's also an amazing teacher. I wish more of my asu teachers had been like her. She made me want to come to class and participate

All of the homework, tests, and assignments are pretty easy and tests are open note. the only harder project is the end of semester paper that you work on throughout the semester. Other than that really easy class & definitely recommend if you want to know more about the world of tourism!

Crd210 with Claire was a highlight to my first semester back to college. Great way to get to know SCRD, opportunities available at ASU and the E portfolio is really helpful. Claire is super smart, caring and great at her job. She loves pineapples and nice people! Replies quickly to questions and works with you if you ask ahead of time.

She doesn't accept late work but that is okay because she offers plenty of extra credit points that makes it all up! She is a great resource with endless great advice. Highly highly recommend.

Awesome teacher, really fun class to be in. She will give you a lot of things to read but they are definitely important/helpful to quizzes and are also fun to read overall. She sets you up for success, gives you plenty of time to work on assignments, and gives optional bonus points to boost your grade. She gives quick and good feedback.

Okay, all the other reviews are absolutely correct. That being said, her assignments are VERY research heavy, and as a result theyre pretty time consuming. I spend more time on this class than I do for my economics and accounting classes, both of which I have higher grades in.

McWilliams is a great choice for a professor. I took TDM205 as a hybrid, and had no background knowledge, but she made everything engaging and easy to understand. Attendance and participation in this class are a must, but this class was very interesting. Homework every week, and a semester-long paper. Would take with McWilliams again!

Claire is a really good professor as she provides valuable career readiness information in this course with guest speakers. You have a limited number of absences for full credit and there are a decent amount of other assignments but they are not difficult. Her downside is when she decides to ridicule students when she is having a bad day.

I love Claire. Wonderful class. So many guest speakers. This is a class you HAVE to attend. Participation is graded heavily and she tracks attendance with an app. There's a very simple group project and 2 open-note tests.

Dr. Claire is wonderful, but the class is WORTHLESS. Her talent as a professor is WASTED on this class. It's definitely an easy A if you show up and do the assignments, but it was just a monumental waste of time. This class added absolutely no value to my education whatsoever.

Claire was hands down my favorite prof last semester! I always left her class with a smile. The assignments are easy, you just have to complete them. 100% recommend!

This is a great, easy class. All of the assignments are very usable for your future. Lots of work on resumes, cover letters, recommendation letters, online portfolios, etc.

Attendance points are important. Class is easy if you show up though.

Literally the easiest class you will ever take at Arizona State. There are 2 assignments generally due every week one being a short worksheet type assignment and the other being a 10 question geohunt on geography. In addition, there are multiple assignments you can do for extra credit.

I really enjoyed Professor McWilliams, she has amazing lectures and stories to share in class and makes this course very enjoyable. I would recommend this class to anyone, I am an education major and took it as an elective and loved it!

Claire is one of the best teachers I have ever had. This class was so much fun. It ended up making me change my major because I loved it so much. There is a lot of extra credit. She loves what she does and it shows. Definitely take it if you can.

Even if you think there's a lot of assignments, they can easily get done with and it will just make it easier for the final project if you do them

This is a must take class for anyone thinking about tourism/hospitality industry. Extremely applicable materiel in a fun and digestible way. Assignments are fun to do if you're interested in hospitality and never too difficult. if you want to learn hospitality, learn it from Claire! She truly cares for all of her students and their success.

Dr. Claire is passionate about the subject, and it shows throughout the course. Test heavy, meaning that there were many "Assignments & Projects" graded as quizzes on top of the 2 tests. Yes, the quizzes/tests were challenging. However, you can use the course material for anything graded. Trust me, do the extra credit. The workload was reasonable.

Claire is honestly awesome! She is so enthusiastic and is dedicated to the success of her students. These were a lot of small assignments that were due but they aren't difficult. This course, with Claire, is so helpful to find your goals, get connected with students, career opportunities, and businesses/organizations that can help your future.

Professor McWilliams truly has her students best interest in mind. She wants every one to succeed. Not only in this class, but outside of the classroom and in the university and career field along with everyday walks of life. The way she has crafted this course is purely to prepare and gear her students for progression towards their goals.

Claire cares for her students and wants them all to succeed in all aspects. interesting and interactive lectures. NO late work but lots of extra credit opportunities You get out what you put in. I didnt always remember to review the material but I paid attention in class & put effort into my homework assignments & did well in and enjoied the class.

I took Claires 205 TDM class which only met on Tuesdays. There are so many extra credit options to boost your grade. Class is mandatory (you get one free absent), but the work load was not bad. I loved her class so much and I am taking a class with her next semester.

Claire is absolutely amazing, her class is always fun and interesting! I highly recommend anyone to take this class it's useful for any major. Assignments are easy and relevant and tests are open note.

Dr. Claire is very kind, caring, and accessible to her students. Her assignments provide a challenge that will help you grow in the knowledge of the subject, but not too difficult that will cause burn out. She is very engaging with her lectures and the assignments are eye opening.

One of the best professors I have had at ASU, she is fun, hardworking, and motivated. If you have the opportunity to take a class of hers, you should take it. Amazing professor and person.

I personally didn't like the class, tdm just isn't for me I took it for an elective, and I regret it. But Claire made the class much better. for how bad the class actually was for me, she is an amazing teacher and made it much better.

Lots of busy work but fairly easy. She is a easy grader so if you just do all of your work theres no reason you shouldn't be able to get an A. And, there is no lockdown browser on tests. I didn't enjoy this class because I have no interest in tourism and just took this as an elective. There is a semester project but she grades them super easily.

Professor McWilliams was the absolute best professor ever!! Her classes were really fun and I enjoyed all her lectures. I got to learn something new everyday which I enjoyed. She has lots of bonus points activities, she makes class so fun and I looked forward to this class. She is very respectful and just the best.

Claire is the greatest ever! It was my first semester at ASU after being a transfer student and she made it so easy to feel apart of ASU with so many opportunities to go to events and be engaged. She gives lots of EC opportunities and makes it easy to schedule appointments if needed outside of class. SHE IS THE BEST YOU HAVE TO TAKE HER!!

Claire is awesome! She clearly cares about students and wants everyone to get involved. Go to class! I had an A and then slacked on my attendance second semester and it brought my grade down. Otherwise, her assignments are not bad - she wants you to succeed.

Go to class! If you attend class it is really hard to not get a good grade in this class.

Claire is the best!! She made class so amazing and made me feel so welcomed being a transfer student. She takes note of attendance but allows one missed class and two classes you can watch on zoom and do a reflection for credit for not being there. Lots of extra credit opportunities and willing to help you with anything!

Her classes are very easy to understand and there is tons of extra credit in case you miss a few points on other assignments. She is very helpful and always reachable by email and will respond back rather quickly. Dr. Claire was such a wonderful teacher, I hope to take another class taught by her.

I took this online class for a credit unrelated to my major. She is absolutely fantastic and is very clearly present in the class. There's no mandatory Zoom meetings, but there is a lot of reading (about 8-16 pages per section). LOTS of opportunities for extra credit and exams are open note. This class will boost your GPA, it's very hard to mess up

Claire is a professor I can see myself staying in contact with. She cares about students. As long as you read, watch the lectures and do your best, you'll pass. I felt she wasn't strict. You'll learn useful info. One group project but not hard. Just communicate with her if others aren't showing up and doing their part, she won't fault you for it.

Claire's lectures are rarely boring and most of the time they are fun and collaborative. Although there are no group assignments you are required to talk to other students in class which led me to form amazing connections. There is one big project, but honestly it is very fun and interesting while not being hard at all. Love this course!

She's a great professor. Teaches thoroughly through her lectures. Her classes can also be watched through Zoom, but attendance is mandatory. She also gives one freebie absence. She gives out a bunch of extra credit. The tests are all online and open-resource, so pretty easy. Very kind professor. She encourages group participation as well.
