Good gen ed. Lectures are all slide shows, and she puts the slides on SPARK.She used to make attendence mandatory with the PRS, but when people started getting sick with swine she stopped.Discussions are only every other week, and there are a total of 4 easy HWs.There are 4 tests, and she drops the lowest one.The tests are pretty easy,50 multichoice
this lady is a joke. she's this little irish lady and i don't think she really knows how to use her computer. anyways, the class is easy, there is extra credit, drops the lowest test, and only 4 HW's. good gen ed to take. study the slides for the tests and youll be good, all the slides are on spark so if she doesnt do PRS dont go to class.
She seriously is a joke. She wasn't prepared for our first test in Mahar which is HUGE how didn't she know that. Personally she seems like a nice person but academically she isn't the best. She avoids questions and literally says "i don't want to answer that with the wrong information" ????
I loved this teacher, she was very nice and understanding. Honestly, I felt bad for her because it is her first year teaching and she is stuck teaching a Freshman class who are very rude and inconsiderate; they are people who really do not care. I would recommend this class, easy GenEd.
the class is pretty easy. at first she used PRS's but then she stopped so a lot of people stopped going to class because she puts the notes on SPARK. the homeworks are easy, shes not a bad teacher, just new at it.
Good teacher
This is such an easy class. I didn't go all of the time and still got an A. She's very nice and willing t help students with any questions. Exams are easy if you study and tere's a lot of extra credit. Take the class, it's worth it!
Easy A. I went to class about 6 times all semester and ended up with a B+. The notes are all online, and she can't figure out how to work PRS so it's not necessary to go. The discussions are every other week and even though the homework seems like a lot most of the TA's give everyone a 90 or above on the assignments.
She is pretty easy. Just do the online quizzes/homework til you get 100. Slides are online. She provides study guides
Literally the worst teacher I have ever had. She's a complete joke and has no idea how to teach. However, this class is extremely easy and requires barely any effort. You can fail the final and still end up with an A.
Easy A. Professor is extremely nice and goes out of her way to make sure everyone can get all the online quizzes and assignments done. There is a lot little quizzes and assignments but they are EXTREMELY easy and require little effort. Definitely recommend this class.
It's an easy class. She explains everything exactly how it is on the slides so there really is no use to go to lecture.
Go to the first class and discussion. That's it. If it's required don't worry about it- it's just a pain in the butt. But you can get an A.. easily, study learning outcomes/review questions on the slides before midterm/final, do online stuff. A, done.
Class is really easy, professor is nice. Just go to the discussions, the lectures are really not necessary. I didn't go to lecture all semester and still ended up with an A in the class. Class requires little time/effort. Would definately recomend this class. Also, DO NOT buy the textbook...didn't use it once such a waste of money!
an easy gen ed. you will get an A. you only need to attend the discussions. the topics learned in class are easy and common sense. the professor explains everything clearly and the lecture is based on the slides which are all available on spark.
Wicked easy class. Her midterm and final are based directly off the slides, and the quizzes on spark give you four tries to get all the answers right. when you view your submission it tells you what page of the book the answers on... so easy. as long as you go to discussion and do the work, you'll get an A.
I've been to one lecture, the first one, and I shouldn't have even gone to that one. Literally the easiest Gen Ed out there.. Discussions last about 20 minutes, everything is online, and exams are 50 multiple choice. Just go to the review and you'll be fine. EASY A.. you should def. take it
Loved this class. extremely easy to understand, and really good, useful information. prof was funny and really nice, and she made lectures entertaining. easy A, just look over the lectures online and take the quizzes till you get a 100- you have 4 chances for most of them. highly recommend this class.
Claire is the nicest prof ever. I loved her class and she made it really enjoyable. The class and material were wicked easy, but she still made it interesting. If you do all of the (easy) work, you can get A even if you do badly on the exams (also easy though). Go to review sessions they are very useful. DIscussions were pointless but mandatory
She is SUCH a sweet lady. Class can be boring at times and you will see fewer kids show up as the semester moves forward. However she cracks a few jokes here and there which can make it fun. You often get extra credit for coming to class and her lectures, though right from her notes, are helpful when you start to study for exams.
Interesting and easy. Go to class, you get extra credit. Listen when she goes over the review questions- that's all the exams are on. Sometimes confusing in class, but overall, great professor, good class, EASY A if you do your work (DON'T BUY THE BOOK!)
EASIEST GENED EVER, easy A, never opened the textbook once at all for the whole entire semester. She gave out 8 extra credits in one semester, just make sure go to the lectures, go there play your phone, study for other class, do whatever you like. exams are easy to study from her online notes, one short essay required only (500 words)
she's probably my favorite professor ever. you don't need to go to class but she gives extra credit to those that do. exams are really easy if you study. go to discussion! i'm a nutrition major so i like this stuff but it's a good gened, and she's funny too. she knows her stuff
I love her. She is such a good professor. She really shows that she wants us to learn and understand the material. I always went to lecture and I got an A on the midterm. Just go to class, it's easy and interesting, and you'll understand everything. Also, discussion is worth 25% of your grade so GO! It's a really easy way to keep your grade up.
Really great teacher, loves what she is teaching and the class is very manageable! If you do the work and go to discussion your golden!
Very sweet woman, VERY easy class. All of the quizzes and slides are online and the exams are almost EXACTLY what is written on the slides. Great way to fill a gen-ed requirement with an easy A.
Easy class, lectures are online, exams are easy, attendance for lecture isnâ??t mandatory. Donâ??t buy the textbook. 3 homework assignments, weekly reading quizzes, 5 lecture quizzes, 1 essay. Attendance to discussion is mandatory. Discussion can be good or bad depending on your TA.
in class she goes over the ppts she puts online but go to class to get the extra credit and the special test questions she doesnt put up.discussion easy, tests little hard but its can get A if you go to discussion+participate. for the tests, look over the review questions. make sure you do the quizzes on time. guaranteed 100 since you get 4 tries
Professor Norton is the best!
She's very clear with what she wants you to know for the exam, the only thing that really sucks is that exams are 50%, so don't screw up. You definitely do not need the book if you go to lecture and you don't need lecture if you have the book.
Easy class. Material is easy and common sense. Just go to class for the extra credit, and review all the material before the midterm/final and you will be fine.
Loved her class. She genuinely cares and makes it interesting and easy and enjoyable to learn.
This is a great gen-ed. You don't have to go to class, but her lectures are very clear and she clearly states what is on each exam. Weekly online quizzes, 5 lecture quizzes, and two exams are all very easy. Love her Irish accent, too. Definitely take this class!
Easy class. If you go to lectures, she will tell you exactly whats going to be on the exam. The material is easy and as long as you study you will be fine.
Class was so easy. Lecture isn't mandatory. Professor posts all the slide shows online so if you are good at studying on your own then you don't even need to go to class. Only some homework but they are really easy. Professor Norton is really nice and can be funny at times. Sometimes spends too much time talking about material that won't be on exam
I didn't like this class too much at the start but the subject matter became more interesting later in the course. Claire is very nice, and you should attend lecture for the extra credit. Discussion is worth 25%, and is an easy 100 if you go. Two multiple choice exams. Put a good effort in and you shouldn't get less than an A.
All over the place, but easy. Only a midterm and a final. Online quizzes, but so easy.
Great and relevant intro to nutrition class. A Gen Ed class that I actually felt was relevant and useful, she touches on a broad swath of information and makes it readily available for tests. Somehow 400+ person lectures aren't boring w/ her. Take this class! Thinking about pursuing a nutrition minor after this class
Claire Norton is a awesome lady. She is always trying to figure out ways to get students to do well, especially the ones who attend classes. Her classes are interesting. I think my attendance helped but a lot of people don't go and still do good. I missed 4 or 5 and still expect an A. Discussion attendance is very important, its work 25% (or 20)!!
This class can be very boring and she is all over the place. She is nice and she explains what she wants you to know for the exams, but they are still tough because they are on a lot of information. There is a good amount of work the first couple weeks, but after that there isn't much. Discussion is mandatory. In the end, an easy class.
Possibly one of the best professors I have ever had. Not only are her lectures extremely clear and engaging, she is always open to answering questions and giving extra credit. TIP: GO TO LECTURE! She stars slides she wants you to know and you will get an A if you go, trust me. Highly recommend, Claire is the BEST!
Easiest class on campus. Don't but the book.
One of the best class I've taken on campus. I didnt expect much of it but I left the course actually putting label-reading skills and nutritional info to real practice. Prof. Norton is passionate about what she teaches and it shows. Interesting videos are always shown in class. Relatively simple coursework! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED CLASS!
I LOVED THIS CLASS. I took it to fulfill a gen-ed, but it is also a great life skills sort of class. Lecture is not mandatory, but she gives out 10 pts of extra credit over the term for attending, plus she highlights exactly what she wants you to know on the ppt. Tests cover a lot of material, so be prepared to memorize. Final was not cumulative.
She is just very nice and goes slow for everyone
Super easy class. I took it to fulfill my biological science gen ed and I would definitely recommend it. Easy quizzes online. Attendance not taken but it's pretty helpful especially for extra credit. Must go to your discussion but they aren't bad. Midterm was easy. I would definitely recommend this class for an easy gen ed.
Super easy class. She puts stars on all the important slides to make studying easier. Easy to listen to.
Super nice professorAlways takes questions and isn't condescending about them. Wants you to actually learn what she is teaching, and knows what she's talking about. Likes to relate to everyday life examples in lectures. There are random in-class extra credit chances so going to class is helpful.
If you show up to class she tells you exactly what's on the exam, it's just up to you to memorize it. The final is not cumulative. An easy BS gen ed if you're not a science person.
Claire is super funny. Especially with her cute Irish accent. I learned a lot of stuff that interested me. It was a lot of content, but it was clear cut what we needed to know for exams. I recommend for Biological science gen-ed
She is great!. very funny and understanding. just do your work and you will pass. easy A
Don't buy the book-you don't need it at all. I thought it was an awesome class that taught useful information I'll use for the rest of my life, but it was also really easy
I just finished Claire Norton's Nutrition 130 class. It was, to say the least, one of the best classes that I have even taken. Even if she was teaching dull material, her hilarious sense of humor made it more than bearable. She gives three exams, which can get tricky at times, and a bunch of online quizzes that allow retakes and are fairly easy.
Easiest class to take if you're looking to fill a Gen-Ed. Only two tests but they are pretty simple if you study. You get a lot of extra credit opportunities so you can easily get over a 100. If you show up to class and discussion there's a really good chance you'll get an A.
I am a Nutrition major, and taking this class was just a confirmation of why I chose my major. I always got so excited to take this class, I loved it. It really changed the way I look at food and taught me to really pay attention to what I am putting into my body. Easy A. Few Assignments, Easy class.
Professor Norton was very nice, but her lectures were very long. I would suggest attending lecture, especially since she has many extra credit opportunities that she does not announce beforehand. Discussion was great, but sometimes felt too repetitive. I heard this class was easy, which is why I took it, but I definitely worked for that A.
Claire is super helpful. Marks slides that need to be known for the test. 3 homework assignments that are very easy. Weekly readings and mini quizzes that are a breeze & 3 online tests (you can use your notestextbook and have 3 tries) Very easy A, Need to study to pass the exams. Attendance is suggested but not mandatory.
Definitely my favorite course at Umass thus far. Lectures are sometimes boring, but usually quite interesting and relatable to life. Nicest lady ever and is so passionate about Nutrition. A lot of students skipped a lot of classes and did fine, I did not skip any and got an 100 for the course. Some homework, midterm and final are 50 EASY multiple c
The lectures were terrible to get through I would fight to stay awake every time. She is very sweet and hilarious and there is only a midterm and final with 50 mc each. They can be confusing with 5 choices, always with "all of the above" and things like "a and c only." I skipped a lot of classes and did fine. She doesn't check attendance
Claire is so sweet and she really wants you to apply what you learn in class to your life. She realizes that most of us have to be there, so she tries to keep it fun and lighthearted. The class is pretty easy. I went to about half of the classes and I am on track for an A. Attendance helps, especially because she offers extra credit.
She is intelligent and passionate about her work. She puts a star on the pages of her power points that you will be tested on, but if you do not come to class you won't know which ones were starred because when she posts them online they do not have stars. Lectures are amazing, discussion sections stink with TAs and are good only if have her!
Easiest gen ed i've ever taken. Mid term and final are both easy, and she gives out in class extra credits.
She was a great professor, easy A class, long lectures but they were interesting so I would recommend showing up because she stars the slides that will be on the exam. All slides on moodle. The exam is 50 questions multiple choice and there are three of them and a couple readings and homework but nothing too bad.
She is a great professor and the reason why I am now a nutrition major. She cares about her students and her lectures are interesting. The class is an easy A and nothing is too bad. Would definitely recommend her.
Claire is the absolute BEST teacher I've had here. She gives a ton of extra credit, her class is clear and easy to follow, you can skip pretty much whenever you want because what she covers is really easy to catch up on, and on top of it she's so funny and really just wants everyone to understand the material. The exams weren't difficult either.
great irish lady. easy A!!!!!!! why not take an easy A course? just go to lecture to get extra credit and it's just memorizing common sense material.
Professor Norton is an awesome teacher! She really wants the students to do well. The final isn't cumulative. All of the exams are multiple choice and based on questions we've already gone over in the semester. Definitely take this class if you need an easy A. Plus the material is super interesting. Great class. A lot of extra credit!
This class was super easy and I learned a lot! Her lectured are very interesting.
Easiest A at UMass. Marks slides that pertain to exam questions, followed by sample exam questions. Three non cumulative exams that are no brainers. Exams Qs are also taken directly from exam prep quizzes. Attendance is extra credit. Discussion is attendance based. Take this course if you're looking for an easy 4 credits.
This class is a joke. There is so much extra credit it is almost impossible not to get an A. I failed the final, and got a C and a B- on the two mid terms and still got an A. No other class you should be taking as your BS gen ed.
As long as you pay attention in class and study the material that Professor Norton marks as important, it is very easy to get an A. The final exam is not cumulative and the material is interesting and useful. Great class! The professor is funny and I definitely would recommend taking it with her.
Enjoyable class. Impossible not to get an A if you show up and just pay attention to the lectures.
Professor Norton is wonderful. She is extremely passionate about Nutrition - especially eating disorders - and makes the topic very interesting and accessible. She also even says herself that you basically just have to show up and put in extremely minimal effort to get an A in the class.
Claire highlights exactly what will be on the exams in her lecture slides. She gives easy 5 question Moodle quizzes each week, 3 homework assignments, an essay and 3 non-cumulative exams. Most of the discussion section grade is based on attendance, with two group projects.
Easiest class you'll take. She gives so many opportunities for extra credit that you would have to try to not pass this class, even just showing up for lecture is extra credit. Discussions are mandatory though.
She offers a ton of extra credit and as long as you study the starred slides, you'll be fine for the exams. She makes the class interesting and you even get extra credit for using your iClicker in class.
This is honestly one of the best classes I've ever taken. The material is interesting, important and Claire does a fantastic job of making it easy for everyone. It's impossible not to get an A with all of the extra credit offered. As long as you do the homework (which is really easy) and go to discussion, it's the easiest class you'll ever take.
This is honestly one of the best classes I've ever taken. The material is interesting, important and Claire does a fantastic job of making it easy for everyone. It's impossible not to get an A with all of the extra credit offered. Loved it.
Easiest gen ed class you can take. You can get C's on all three exams and still get an A in the class with all the extra credit. Highly recommended
She's greta! I actually learned helpful real world things about nutrition which is amazing considering I only took it for a GenEd. I highly recommend it to anyone who isn't great with science but needs to fulfill the BS requirement. One of the easiest A's I've ever taken while not being a total joke of a class.
Highly recommend this class and Claire to literally anyone. Easy to get an A if you pay attention, which is not hard to do. Claire makes the class super enjoyable as she is hilarious and super passionate about nutrition. I enjoyed listening to her lecture and she gives tons of extra credit. Overall a great class and even better professor.
I honestly thought I was going to fail the class because I failed my first two exams (76 and 66). However, I somehow passed the last exam with a whopping 94 and enough extra credits to pass the class. This class is interesting and there is a lot of information, but if you study on her slides you would honestly pass. Discussion is so easy.
Not really sure why people rate her so high, she's fine but nothing special. She comes across as very "mom" to me so maybe that's what I found weird about lecture? I actually would have enjoyed class more if it were more cut and dry info exchange. Easy mandatory discussion, but the book is required now because there is work hosted through that site
Norton changed the curriculum this semester to make it more science-based with a new textbook. Her lectures are dry, preachy, and sporadic. She'll find a way to complain about anything, and is extremely unclear with her grading criteria. This class may have been good before but it has changed for the worse.
Not the worst way to get a gen ed. Material is pretty interesting, but I didn't learn much in lectures. The discussion has small projects that are really easy. The best part is that she offers a lot of extra credit! Very easy to pass even if you zone out in class.
Claire is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her students. She is always open to feedback, and she makes her lectures as relatable as she can. I ended up learning a lot from her lectures. She makes it really clear what is going to be on her tests, and they were all pretty easy and straightforward. Overall a good, fair class.
Pretty good - the semester I had her she changed some stuff so it was a little bumpy having her needing to iron out some kinks as we went through it, but she does things like drop lowest in-class grades and gives a variety of extra credit options so even if you have a hard time on tests you can get a good grade. Text was mandatory for quiz access.
Although the material was pretty interesting and easy to understand, I didn't enjoy Claire as a professor and lecturer. Claire gives a lot of extra credit opportunities to her students and grades are dropped. Attending lectures was extra credit, but there were in-class writing assignments that counted as a grade. Exams were like the practice exams.
Very easy BS gen ed, if you show up to class and put in minimal effort you will get an A. I have always been bad at science but this class was fairly straightforward and is stuff you will actually use in real life. DO THE GROCERY STORE TOUR! Exams are similar to the practice exams and are all multiple choice.
Claire's class is great. She loves what she does and has an amazing passion for nutrition. Her notes are very clear and she specifies what you should be reviewing for each exam. Tons of extra. Really good Gen-Ed/GPA booster.
Claire is by far one of my favorite professors. She is hilarious and tells you exactly what you need to know. She reviews material enough (+ discussions) that you barely have to study for exams. Super easy course, highly recommend.
Claire is by far one of the best teachers at UMass. She is funny and caring and really wants all of her students to do well. Even though this class is an easy A, it is very interesting and you will learn a lot. The discussions are dumb but the class itself was enjoyable. I would retake this class if I could.
Claire is a great professor and if you study for the exams they are easy. There was a textbook but I never bought it and was fine. There is extra credit iClickers but I also never did those and got an A.
Pretty easy class and the material is interesting. I really liked learning what to put in my body and understand the topic at a deeper level.
Claire Norton is a FANTASTIC lecturer. She is super organized which is huge for me and explains everything so well. Her exams are so easy, taken right from the lecture notes. She gives SO much extra credit. There's literally no way to fail the class with the amount of extra credit she gives. Go to grocery store tours you'll learn a lot there too.
Keep in mind this is a bio course. I took it expecting to just learn about how to eat healthy but its mainly about the actual biological affects that food has on your body. Overall not a hard course, lots of study guides online and she provides lots of extra credit opportunities. From what I've heard its one of the best bio gen eds offered.
This course is super easy A. The moodle practise tests are very helpful for all midterms. There's no final. Attendance for discussion is mandatory, and you can earn 5% extra credit. You should show up for in-class writing assignments. A very fun and light class :)
I barely went to lecture and did just fine. Claire is a amazing caring professor who teaches a great class. As long as you do the homework and quizzes (open book) you'll get an A. Lots of extra credit opportunities (take them). Don't buy the textbook or Pearsons. Tests are easy as long as you study the notes and do the quizzes.
Easy class to get an A in. Exams are easy if you go to the review session the day before. Lots of easy ways to earn extra credit. Don't really have to pay attention in lecture as they are posted to moodle. Most kids are not focused during lecture. Show up to section and do the homeworks with care. I had a horrible TA and still got an A.
You need to show up to class early to get a front row seat to be able to hear her. There are random writing assignments in the middle of the lecture that you get little time to do, and you can't rely on extra credit to get a good grade anymore. The discussion section is where you get nagged by the TA to do meaningless group work.
EASY A.
This class was so easy I accidentally got a 99 overall because I did more extra credit than I needed to. You'll also learn some pretty interesting things about nutrition. My only complaint is discussion sections were quite useless and an overall waste of time.
easy A for gen-ed. i had her online and this was my fav. class because it was organized very well. asynchronous lectures so you watch whenever you want, she puts stars on what slides you need to write down and easy quizzes on moodle.
Awesome prof! Wants to actually change your life with her class, not just be an "easy gen ed" (although it is that too). She is super interesting and encourages you to be critical and think for yourself - so popular she has to ask students sitting in who couldn't enroll in time to leave as Mahar as it gets too crowded!
by far my favorite class this semester. classes were online and lectures were asynchronous (due to pandemic), but i really did enjoy watching her lectures. there's a mini quiz after every lecture, but they were super easy. exams were easy as well, and were open notes (probably due to the pandemic as well).
I took this for a gen ed requirement. I enjoyed the class and felt as though I learned a great deal. It was online due to covid and all of her lectures are uploaded on her Moodle. The homework is very easy to get through. Make sure you review for tests so that you can get an A.
The class was extremely easy to get a good grade in, which was appreciated especially while learning remotely. She let us learn on our own time at our own pace, and I actually did learn some helpful nutrition tips. This is a great choice for your biological gened.
Take this GenEd, easy A. The professor recorded all the lectures ahead of time and the weekly quiz answers were clearly stated in the videos. The exams were straightforward and easy.
If you need a a BS GenEd, this is a no brainer. The class is somewhat interesting and is laughably easy. Lectures were option since you can do online quizzes instead of iClickers with multiple tries. Usually one assignment a week that is done during the discussion section which is mandatory. Exams online, super straightforward, and open note
This is the best class I've ever taken, I genuinely enjoy going to it. Claire is super sweet and a great professor. Her lectures are very interesting and she offers SO many extra credit opportunities. The discussions are fun and the assignments aren't hard. She specifies exactly what is going to be on exams by pointing it out during lectures
Claire is the sweetest professor ever and cares about her students. The class was an easy A if you put in work. Grades were based on 4 exams (40%), iClicker (8%), in class writing (7%), discussion participation (10%), and the rest is based on homework. iClickers could be done through moodle so attendance not mandatory. Would recommend.
The best gen ed! So glad I took this class it was very easy to pass and also super interesting. All in class grades had an online option if you couldn't make it to class, tests were open notes, and we did most of the weekly homework during the discussion. Lectures are also interesting she's a really cool person overall!
easy Iclicker questions and quick writing responses during lecture for participation points. in lab you basically just do your homework assignments which are easy. exams are open note. she posts her lecture slides. many extra credit opportunities. she's very nice and her lectures are interesting.
I love her teaching style. Many opportunities for extra credit and the homework is automatic 100% if you do the work (same with quizzes). Lectures are super straight forward same with exams. She makes sure you know exactly what will be on the exam and theres no trick questions. Would definitely recommend
This professor is the best. Her lectures are always entertaining and relevant to your own life. Lectures are not mandatory but highly recommend. She is really flexible. Tests are all online and a answers are easily found. Super easy credit and very little homework. All assignments can be done in discussion. Lots of opportunity for extra credit.
If you're looking for a bio gen ed, take this class! Professor Norton is a great professor and her lectures are pretty interesting, but not mandatory. Online quizzes are easy and she stars the slides that are going to be on them.Go to discussion every week and you'll pass. She makes it very easy to pass this class and there's lots of extra credit:)
Easiest gen-ed ever. Only mandatory thing are the discussions which are helpful bc you just do the weekly assignment during them. The lectures are on echo 360 and she literally marks the slides you need to write down/know for the exam. 4 online exams total, no cumulative final, all open note & found in slides/notes. There's extra credit every week
Claire is an amazing Prof. I have to say this is the best prof in my whole life so far, she knows some of us only take the class for the sake of GenEd credits so she made the course as easy as possible for everyone. And indeed it is so easy. I am a slow learner but I got A+ in her class it is incredible.
Pretty easy class. For me, all exams were online and pretty easy. The only thing is that you do not want to switch between the physical iClicker remote and the app, or you may not receive credit for your attendance. Professor is really nice.
Professor Norton keeps the lectures entertaining. You don't need to buy the textbook and she gives Moodle quizzes that count for IClicker credit. She goes over the answers of the quizzes in class as well. Exams are online and pretty easy.
Prof. Norton's lectures are both engaging and inherently useful. She makes clear the distinction between fact and speculation, and she will stop everything to make sure everybody understands an important concept. Her ideology is that "Students learn best when they are not stressed" which shows in her lax grading and straightforward assignments.
Really solid class. Enjoyable and informational. Optional attendance, but definitely helps to go! Not a hard class, but busy with little assignments often. Easy to listen to during lectures.
No complaints, interesting material and all relevant.
Claire wants you to understand the material in a stress free environment. That is why she is an easy grader - exams are all online. The discussion assignments are very straightforward and all take less than an hour to do.
Such a good professor makes the lectures engaging. If you go to all the lectures and take notes you will get a good grade, the exams are online and take questions directly from the lecture slides. Weekly discussion activities for homework but they're easy and won't take more then an hour per week. Great class great professor would recommend
Claire is so sweet and funny! The class is super interesting and easy. No essays, a few online tests that are open note, and some homework/discussion assignments with plenty of extra credit opportunities.
Claire is so passionate and caring. I highly suggest this course. It is pretty easy.
Easy class and Gen Ed. Take this if you want something easy. You have to be in class most days, but she drops two in-class writings and 10 absences. She is a bit political honestly, especially given current events... But if you can ignore that, it's fine.
This class was an easy gen ed, but watch out because she might make it harder. 4 online exams, and quick mini quizzes every week. The discussion class was kind of annoying, but overall easy work, Claire is super nice, just show up to class and you'll be fine. Easy A.
Nice professor; clearly very passionate and knowledgable about her field and the topics that she teaches. Crams a good amount of information into the lectures, but posts majority of the slides. Online quizzes and tests. Overall, a really good intro class to learn about the topic without being overwhelmed by work.
Professor Norton makes the lectures engaging. With no need for a textbook and easy online exams, this is a great gen-ed class. I found unstuck ai helpful for quick review before tests.
I had a heavy course schedule in terms of difficulty, and this class definitely helped me balance my demanding classes. Exams are easy, as the answers are in the slides. Very stress-free environment and super sweet professor.
Prof Norton is a great teacher and this class is easy and low stress. She made learning about nutrition interesting and enjoyable and clearly cares about her students. Grade is mostly made up of a lot of small assignments that don't take long and all answers are in the lecture slides.
This class is one of the easiest 3 credits you can get. Prof Norton is hilarious and she explains well what shes teaching and makes directions clear for exams tests etc. Tests are online and the only work assigned are work from the discussion portion (which you have time to do in class), weekly in class writings, and end of the week lecture quizzes
Professor was rude to me when explaining something. I have a pretty severe disability that makes material pretty difficult to understand. Disappointed in how that affected how she treated me. Overall, it was a pretty decent class though.
This class is super easy, if you go to class you get an A+. She puts the test question answers on the slides and puts a little sun on the questions you should write down so you make sure you have all the right notes, and she doesnt just read off of the slides, she is educated. discussions are annoying but easy, arent they all tho.
Claire is very knowledgeable, passionate, and cares very much about what she teaches. A lot of topics are covered but the material is very easy to digest. Gives extra credit opportunities and exams are take home and open note with answers to questions in her class slides. Overall, a great course to take to learn a lot about nutrition.
This was a very good and interesting class to take. Professor Norton teaches each concept very well. There are weekly quizzes that you can do on your own time. There are exams but they are take-home. There are also opportunities for extra credit if you need it. She is so understanding and a good/ personable professor.
Easy. A bit of work but mainly doable and busy work. Not very accessible outside of class.
She was such a funny and chill professor def take this class. The only thing was the discussions and TA classes had a lot of work but it wasn't bad, those are mandatory but not lectures. Take this class lowkey easy just lots of online hw and you cant miss any or else your grade will tank. Professor is super nice class was never boring, useful too.
A great class to take for an easy gen-ed. Her class was honestly super easy but very interesting. The discussion assignments were kinda annoying but honestly super light. She had tests but online so super easy.
Great professor! Easy class. Attendance not mandatory but there are random in-class writings, not difficult but annoying if you're looking to skip class. Online quizzes and exams, open notes. I recommend attending class as her slides tell you what are on the quizzes and you don't have to deal with missing a in class writing.
Love professor norton!! She is a great lecturer. Awesome if you just want to take a class to learn about nutrition and not be stressed about exams and coursework because it's very manageable.
