Very great teacher.. Will help you if you do not understand. She will go over the homework if you did not understand. Very great teacher, and very nice lady.
Great teacher. Goes out of her way to explain everything. Visit her at her office hours a lot and she will work with u one on one. She goes over the homework all the time and her tests are fair. She also gives u a lot of review sheets to study from.
Professor V is a very good teacher because she is the type that would go to the extent for you to really understand the subject. having her as my teacher was the greatest thing because it was really clear for me to understand her way of teching. Take her!

very awesome lady, not the clearest of the clear, but willing to repeat until you understand..very good looking and very nice too (bought us muffins and danish one time)
she is a good teacher and takes time out for her students.
Awsome teacher, very helpful, clear and will take time away from her schedule to help in any way she can. Made class fun and at the same time learning so much I got a B in her class and I hate math, because of her I'm starting to like math again, VERY NICE lady!
dont take her for winter 3week sessions, not enought time everythings flies by, very quick lessons, unlike groninger no books, notes on tests. groninger lets you use everything possible.
Easy...don't be afraid to ask questions and do all the homework. She collects handouts and she definitely has a proper method of teaching. Nice lady, has a great and open personality! Take her if you wanna pass.
she is very fine. i got "B" winter section.
EXCELLENT professor. Her test are very easy and the final is 30 of the multiple choice questions from the 4 test. if you dont like math like me take her you will luv it and understand it. GREAT PROFESSOR
She was an excellent teacher. I'd like to take her again if I could for Precalc.
great professor thats all i have to say
excellent teacher, makes you love math. Very understanding and does her best to help you. Def recomend this teacher! she's so sweet!
her lectures are not difficult to learn and understand. She does not check homeworks. and overall the test was not that difficult, unless it deals with bank rates and mortgages.
she's an AWESOME teacher! as long as you follow along, your destined to succeed. she loves questions and does everything and anything she can to help you understand to the fullest. if anyone has problems in any of her classes.. they're psycho.. she's an amazing teacher!
she is a great professor. she is so funny. she'll always be there if anyone needs help....so there's no reason to faail her class! she's great !
I had her last semester, she was great! She is nice, helpful, & interesting! I would have taken her again, but she wasnt teaching 102! I really liked her, if your lucky enough to get her, you will be very pleased!
the sweetest professor ever, but i highly suggest not to take during the summer, goes very fast, doesnt explain well (obviously cause its a 3-4 week course) and more than half the class didnt understand anything. take her though for the spring and fall she teaches the lessons a while lot better!
.. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-!
She was very patient and very helpful. She wants you to pass her class, but you have to be willing to do the work. Math is my weakness, but she met with me before and after class and explained everything i didn't understand. Excellent teacher- gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit work!
She was a great professor, very helpful even during exams if you were stuck sometimes she tells you its the wrong answer. I did bad on the first exam but did great on the last three , I asked her for help. Take home quizes, homework do it so you are not lost and review problems almost same as the actuall exam! take her!!!!!
I had her for Alegbra 1 and 2 she was the best I got A's in all her classes. Her is key DO THE HOME WORK AND REVIEW questions because your going to see them again on the test. COOL TEACHER BEST MATH TEACHER ON THE PLANET
she was awesome!! very nice and extremely awesome. if you go to class, you will def pass. if you need help, ask her and she will help you w. no problem! and shes such a sweetheart, i loved her!
great prof...is willing to explain and break down probs until you understand...def recommend !! :)
all i have to say is that, she is an awesome teacher!!! She has a very great way of teachin every student, and if u do not understand something, then she will make sure u do. Extremely helpful...and an excellent teacher.
She is really nice n very helpfull proff. I took her in my precalc n calc 1 class n i got A in both. U just need 2 do Review paper which she give b4 exam n u will find same type of questions in exams.
Awesome Professor, I was a visiting student from Rutgers and she is a great teacher, very clear and helpful, wants her students to succeed and do well and is willing to put in the extra effort to help her students pass. Gives you homework and review sheets before the exam, do them and their is no reason not to pass this class, thank you Professor!
OK, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT TAKE HER. (REVIEW SLIGHLY SIMILAR TO THE TESTS, BUT STILL FAR OFF) DOESNT CARE IF STUDENTS PASS OR FAIL.
dont bother taking this class! Her review sheets nothing like the test. Shes a very nice lady but not ment to teach college. High school would be better for her. Very NEGATIVE TOWARDS HEr students
oh my thats all i have to say
Just had this professor had to drop to 129a. Shes very difficult and gives a lot of hw. The class is very fast Shes VERY negative, i had her for alg 013 and told that me i shouldn't take 014 in the summer cause its to fast for me(negative) but i did pass with a b+. Shes to negative towards her students. She could careless if you pass or don't pass
where do i begin? lets just say she is terrible cranky woman. she should really quit and give her job to a professor thats knows what theyre doing.
Great Teacher, very helpful, and competent. The best!
Her English is very hard to understand. If you're still interested in taking her class with that knowledge, then read on. She is not helpful and in a class that's supposed to be slow-paced, she moves very quickly. She explains herself poorly and does not show you easier ways to work. She likes long, difficult math. It's pointless to take her.
If u want to pass in this class then please don't her class
her review sheets are nothing like her tests. she is hard and unless you intend to kiss her behind u wont be doing so hot in her class. she goes extremely fast n make u feel uncomfortable to ask question. besides showing up to evry class u need to go to her office hours which is not cool. Why not teach during class?? i didnt like her teaching style
I LOVE HER..... THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice teacher.... Very helpful. And she is always ready to help students.. Definitely recommended...
I dont know why she got bad reviews.. she is def. one of the best teachers i got.. i absolutely love her and she is so helpful.. i learned so much more about math because of her.. she makes you feel very comfortable and always spends time going over problems until the whole class understands! DEFINATELY take her..
I am taking her this semester. This is the last week be4 the final, and I think her exams are a lil bit harder,if you got A in precalculus you may expect an A- or B+ on calc1 (depents of your skills).anyway do her homework and review sheets and you will pass.she is nice and helpful.I would take her if she teaches calc2.
She is a great professor and really cares for her students. Her teaching style is unique. Definitely Recommended!
She is a very helpful professor. A humourous and a soft lady. Please do the homework which she gives u and ask questions and God willing you'll be fine. And yeah, she gives out review sheets too. DO THEM!Of course dont forget:Math is a subject that comes with practice,so do not depend entire on what the prof teaches and practice your self 2. I got A!
I am shocked at the fact that she has good reviews. She is a horrible teacher! She doesn't even teach at all but expects students to just know it. She told half of my class (including me) to drop...(keep in mind I got a 98 average in math014) Her accent is annoying and she grades very unfairly. Seriously do not take her unless you want to fail miserably or teach yourself an entire precalc book. And she is like over 50 years old...not hot so idk what weirdo pervs wrote that. Don't take!
She is a very good professor. She cares a lot about her students and does not want anyone to fail. She provides extra help and makes sure you understand. Do not be afraid to ask questions! She is also very sweet and gave us cookies and candies for every holiday :)
She's a very smart person who knows what she's talking about.
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. She explains everything in detail if you don't get something, and isn't condescending about it. Assigns homework, but you don't have to hand it in - so it's just used for studying, and she goes over any questions about the homework in the next class. Very personable, and highly recommended.
spring was the1st time she taught stats I in some time....she used another prof's powerpts. She spent a lot of time going over homework in the beginning of each class- answering many questions. Exams were straight forward- you were allowed to bring in a dbl sided page of notes to each exam. Do the homework as it helps.
GREAT PROFESSOR!!! Hands out a detailed syllabus with everything you need to know for this class. Breaks things down so they are easy to understand. Before each test you are given a review guide that helps you with the test.
I took her for Algebra 1 and 2 and she was great both semesters. She hands out her own packets and goes through every section in detail. Her reviews are just like her tests. she gave cookies and munchkins at the end of the semester. show up to class. Shes very nice!
I took her for MAT-013 online. Everything was pretty much done through Aleks. She seemed very willing to help if you needed it. She does post homework but its really for you to practice than, she never asks for it. She also posted reviews for every test that were very helpful. She did the problems for you so that you can see how it should be done.
SHE IS AN AMAZING PROFESSOR!! VERY HELPFUL!
She is nice and cares about her students... just at times she is unclear and boring... She also rushes through the lessons, but if u ask her to slow down or to do another example she will do it... otherwise she will move on, so make sure to raise your hand if u get lost
Prof. Vassiliadis is a great professor! She goes through everything step by step and has lots of patients with her students. If you need help with anything, she is more than willing to. Her tests are just like her study guides. Just take notes, do the hw, and you will pass.
She's very generous with partial credit. No curve other than that. Homework not graded but do it so you know what's going on.
Doesn't always help, has an attitude, makes you feel stupid, expects you to know everything despite not having pre-calculus before and spend hours upon hours a night studying when most of us work all day after class, only gives two tests and a final which is definitely a huge con, half the class failed the second test and was somehow surprised, etc.
Great teacher! Had her for Summer A1 Pre Calc. A lot of work in 4 weeks but its manageable. Spends as much time needed on hw/review questions. Tests aren't too bad. No more than 30 questions and some are multiple choice. If you've had pre calc before, you can cruise through most of this class. I would definitely take her again. Lenient grader.
more difficult than her easiness rate leads on. she does expect you to know an makes you not want to ask questions
Fair teacher, grades just on alek pie and test.
You have to keep up with the math homework but if you don't get it shes happy to explain in and out of class. And her tests are almost straight from the study guides she gives out. Best math teacher I've had in years! If she taught pre-calc I'd sign up in a heartbeat!
Professor Vassiliadis is a great teacher, she's thorough in her explanations which is a big benefit as math takes patience. Her work book is an excellent way to stay on track and organized. And her reviews help a lot for tests. If you take the time to study and put some effort into this class, you'll get a good grade!
Nice professor with good math skills. Would take her again
Wonderful professor! Great person and helps when you don't understand. Would definitely take her again!
I took this class online I never bought the textbook I did everything on aleks all test are given on campus, Gives a clear review that is almost exact to the test complete your aleks pie completely, study reviews and you'll pass the class she responds quickly to email highly recommend
She is a great teacher! I felt like I haven't understood math in a long time until I took her calculus class. It wasn't easy by any means, but I skipped a lot of homework and didn't study as I should have. Her tests are straightforward and she's a fair grader, as long as you do the homework's and study the review you will be fine. Highly recommend!
A great math teacher. If you do your homework, everything makes more sense. Her lectures are easy to understand and she makes the material seem easy. I would take her again!
She doesn't care if you do well in her class and she rushes through everything. No extra credit. Really difficult. Only 4 test grades one being the final she doesn't give credit for participation or attendance or homework.
Professor Vassiliadis is one of my most favorite teachers. She is so helpful and thorough. She makes sure the class understands the material before moving on. This is my 3rd time taking her! Algebra 2, pre-calc, and now calc.
Goes at her own pace too fast to understand
Fast paced teacher. If you ask a question or answer something wrong she will make you feel dumb. Attendance doesn't matter nor does participation. 3 major test 1 Final and ALEKS homework.
In the beginning, She makes you think her class is easy to pass but she is dead wrong. She does NOT help you at all! I asked several times if I can do any extra credit work to bring up my grade and she flat out refused. If you are not great at test taking, this class is not for you. I would NEVER take her class again. She is awful!
Really nice woman, but not great Prof. If you aren't a wiz a math, I wouldn't take her. She gets frustrated and angry when she has to explain things more than once, like she isn't teaching a pre-calc class, and moves too quickly. Seemed like a nice woman, but she wasn't a good prof. I will not take her again.
I wish I had this professor in High school! This professor clearly knows what she is doing, and gives 100% effort to her classes. She doesn't grade homework, but you need to do it in order to understand the material and do well on the pop quizzes. If you do not grasp the material, she will take class time to explain it. However does not offer EC :(
Nice woman, but she does teach at her own pace. There is always a girl in the class who has to tell her to slow down. Grades depend heavily on 3 tests which is horrible. She gives quizzes but she said they barely count towards your grade. Makes you do group work because she wants you to "talk" to people. I feel like that's unnecessary for pre-calc.
If you wanna fail the class ,shes the prof for you !!! hard grader and shes so rude with students.,skip this class
This is one of the best professors on MCC. I took her for calc one and calc two and I would take her again. Calc can be challenging sometimes so with her you are never going to feel like you can't or won't understand.
Terrible professor! Do not take her unless you want to fail. Doesnt know how to teach, how does she still have a job? And someone tell Prof. Vass to STOP writing good reviews on her OWN section. Such a bad professor smh
sends her son to class pathetic lady
pathetic lady
why did god create her ?
After all I heard about her, she's not like that at all! She really moves forward after her students are satisfied with every topic. Math is generally hard for everyone but it is a logical subject so she tries to show you the logic and that makes her lectures good and not boring at all.
She is an excellent professor. Easy to follow because she explains slowly for everybody to understand. Her tests are based on what she taught during class; there is no surprise. She cares about her students. I enjoyed this class immensely because she is able to transform something that is difficult and dry into something easy to comprehend.
Truly passsionate about teaching and knows her subject very well. She will take the time to work with you and help you understand things, but you need to put in the effort. Math isnt an easy subject for everyone, but with this professor youre in good hands.
I took her for Algebra-2 and calculus she is a wonderful professor. Making sure people understand the material before moving on. Genuinely cares about her students. If you're looking for an easy A this is not the professor for you. There is tons of homework, but you cant get good at anything if you don't practice.
The textbook was needed solely for homework. She didn't grade homework but you would need to do it in order to pass. She gave a lot of points on tests even if the answer was clearly wrong. She took as much time as everyone needed in order to make sure they understood the material. Her lectures were just her doing a lot of example problems to teach.
I really enjoyed her class! She began with a clear grading rubric from the beginning, and shows all of the homework that must be completed/studied in order to do well on her exams. Yes, the class might be hard at times, but you just need to prove that you want to do well in the class. She is the nicest person, and if you deserve it, you will pass.
If she doesn't like you, you'll prob won't pass. Gotta be a teacher's pet lol pathetic, WE'RE IN COLLEGE smfh. Learn how to teach a simple subject such as Algebra 2, and stop making things complicated for no reason. Smh, one of the worst professors I've ever had. Please quit or retire, thanks
Best math professor, very caring, very passionate, would solve any problem for you for an infinity number of times.
If you enjoy a teacher that says ask for help if you need it and then begins to give you an attitude for asking for help this is the teacher to take :)
Great for students starting calc 1 as she goes over every concept at a good pace. She gives a good amount of hw but doesn't grade it: studying hw problems is to your benefit, not hers. She goes over hw problems every class, has reviewed sessions before tests - which is the only thing she grades. Super friendly, don't hesitate to reach out to her!
Professor Vassiliadis is a gem of a person, she ensures that no one is struggling with the material by going over the whole problem. Initially, I did struggle with math but because of her, I love math and her office hours helped me a lot as she is always available to help students. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HER FOR ANY CLASS!!
The class itself is not easy & is fast paced, but I doubt this is unique to Prof. V's class. College math in general seems to be this way. The homework isn't graded, but you should do it. She encourages questions, & answers you with the intention of getting you to understand. Prof. V really does care about true learning and about her students.
Professor Vassiliadis is a great Professor, she does teach you the content extremely well but you do have to put in the work as the tests and the final do tend to get wanky. Other than that class is mainly homework, tests and sometimes she assigns pop quizzes so watch out for that. Also make sure you do the review as reviews are replicas of test.
She is an amazing professor, there is a lot of homework that she gives, but she also gives a lot of time to complete the homework. She is a fair grader. Not that many exams. All the homework's help with the final exam.
One of my favorite professors at MCC, I took her 3 times for Algebra 2, Precalc, and Calc 2. She explains everything super clear and if you pay attention and do homework you will understand everything. She gives test reviews that is basically the tests, she also gives tons of credit even if you answer wrong as long as you show you understand.
Just keep a few things in mind if you are taking MAT 132 during the pandemic. There are no exams or quizzes, just a final exam. This class is completely self-taught, and Prof. Vassiliaidis is particular in how you show your work for graded assignments. Honestly, it's tough. Don't fall behind on the sections or you will get overwhelmed quickly.
She's ok. Keep in mind if you are taking this course, it is all online. No lectures, nothing. You do the homework when you have time and post whatever you had difficulties on discussions. For tests, you need to show you actually learned something out of watching videos provided for each section. Not an easy course tho, she makes you earn the grade
Professor Clairie is a great professor but you don't hear much from her only when there is a test coming up or if people are not doing the discussion post. The hw was on MOM and the majority of the questions didn't have a video explanation, so you're on your own. but so far the class is very easy. doing your hw means getting a passing grade on test
She is a very nice lady and is caring too. My only problem is the subject itself. I'm taking calc 1, and for me it's kind of hard to learn what she is teaching because she goes fast. But as long as ur on top of ur notes and hw u should be good
I loved Professor Vassiliadis. She is passionate about teaching and truly wants to see her students succeed. Your grade is based on two exams (lowest of three is dropped) ,MOM hw assignments, and a final exam. If you do the MOM hw problems and textbook hw problems, the tests are easy and straightforward (no surprises). Perfect for an intro to calc.
Professor Vassiliadis was an amazing calc teacher. There were only 3 tests but she drops the lowest grade. She cares deeply about the education of her students and strives to make sure everyone understands. She's very approachable and does not mind answering questions. Just do practice problems before the tests and reach out to her for help.
Professor Vassiliadis was one of the best professors I had at Middlesex. Her lectures are clear and very well put. She values participation and doesn't get bothered if you have any questions. Just 3 Chapter Exams (the lowest being dropped), plus the final exam. MOM assignments and textbook questions as homework. She even gives out a study guide!
You do hw on a website called myopenmath. Those were really hard, but the tests were long and ok
Most of the class is struggling. She can see this, but instead of reflecting and improving on her teaching style, she takes time out of class to scold us for struggling and on 3/21/2023 she went so far as to imply that anyone that is struggling in her class should drop out of college. Avoid this professor if you can.
Good professor for online courses, but made test submissions difficult by requiring all work to be uploaded in a single PDF within 15 minutes of completion, I had to rush to find free PDF converters on the internet several times. Overall, if your goal is to pass calculus, there is no excuse for failing her class, however, earning an A is difficult.
I took calc 1 as a hybrid class this semester, meaning we only met once a week. Needless to say I'm definitely not opting for a hybrid math class again in the future. I would recommend taking it as a hybrid class only if you're really good at math (which I'm not). She is a good instructor but it was difficult since we had to learn a lot on our own.
She is a nice and caring professor and I recommend her but the class material may not be for you if math is not easy for you as her classes are mostly hybrid
She is a good and caring professor, although sometimes she can be a little frustrated and blunt when she needs to. Available outside of class easily and cares about her students
Very harsh grader
Is willing to help students the most whether it be about the class material etc. she is nice and great to talk to but tests are worth a lot of your grade compared to homework
Do homework and practice exams
I took Calc 2 with her over the summer as a visiting student. Ran into a couple technical issues when submitting the midterm however speaking with her she was very understanding and helpful in giving me a second chance to resubmit the right work. Graded on MOM hw assignments every week and 2 tests midterm and final. For both you need to show work.
Do not take her she is a tough grader
The class can be challenging, but the professor is helpful when students engage. Using resources like the free textbook, study sessions, and tools like unstuck ai helped me prepare well. Attendance is mandatory, so be ready to put in the work.
I had hybrid course with her. and we had two test and one final all in-person and she takes out hardest paper she can. in class half of us were struggling to understand rather than make it easy and droppign some more grades. She gave mor eand more examples. OH she gives loads of example. PLEASE DON'T TAKE HER. WILL REGRET THE SEM.
Professor Vassiliadis is nice but she talks too much in class.
Talks for a whole 110 min class, non stop lectures. Examples and teaching techniques are extremely hard to comprehend. When does work on board the work is everywhere, which makes it hard to understand the concept.
dont even consider taking his professor.
This professor has to be the worst professor I've ever taken. She does not teach at all. Rather, she'll have an example problem on the board and just do the problem without explaining how she does it. The explanations she writes on the board are not accessible outside of class so it's extremely difficult to review.
I had her for a hybrid calc class. She only has 2 tests, a final, and homework that don't really impact your grade. She is passionate but her teaching style wasn't right for me. I had a hard time paying attention and comprehending the materials with the examples she would give us. She was nice but not fit for a student who struggles with math.
