He's has a lot of great stories and he's very professional. Does not mind talking all night, and gives out great, detailed notes. Exams are not too difficult. He'll make you laugh everyday.

I never had the opportunity of saying thank's. He really takes his job seriously . Take him if you want to learn.Pay attention to the examples that he gives during class he'll use them in the tests

He knows what he is doing. He explains really well. But his English is hard to understand. His exams a little tricker, make sure to read the book, and take all the notes in class, he uses it all. 70 multiplo choices on almost all his exams.I got a B+ and if I had just ready more his notes prior to the exam I could have an A Take note of everythink.

He loves his job and he is a very enthusiastic teacher. He is a great teacher and makes learning enjoyable. If you read the text and go to class, you will get a high grade. He is by the book with grades being based solely on test and term paper scores. No negotiation. I got an A- in his class.

Prof. was very interesting and fun. Explains lessons very thoroughly. I learned alot in this class. He treated us as adults, expected us to act as such re: initiative, homeworks, paper, attention in class. He is very organized, engaging, nice sense of humor. Exams not overly hard but you need to study to pass them, some tricky. Really liked class.

His classes fly by b/c he is very interesting and engages the class. he also has a funny personality. His exams are straight from his notes so copy everything he says...even examples he uses. His tests are so straight forward it's impossible not to get an A.

Finally, a professor that can make a class so interesting and entertaining that you'll actually look forward to coming to school. He's simply the best of the best. His exams are all multiple choice, easy, and straight from his notes. Easy "A" if you just follow his instructions. You'd be foolish to take anyone else.

I am an international student and took his class in my first semester. I was so~ nervous because of his accent and struggled for a while but his test wasn't tricky at all and he gave us very good review before the test. He is funny and knowledgeable person, I learned a lot. I highly recommand him just follow his direction you will get A, like me.

First of all, this prof. has Jamaican accent so if you have hard time understanding English, you might feel a little trapped taking this class. However, he is a very nice prof. and I like him very much. He is a very smart and intelligent man that his explanations are much better applications to the topics covered compared to other professors.

He is a very funny teacher. He tsalks about his mother and father alot. he makes the time go by when you have him late at nite. Need to study test are multiple choice. You will get penalized if you don't give him a complete final paper.

Best class ever. He tells you what is going to be on the exams during the review so you know exactly what to study for. Just gives 3 tests and a research paper, all worth 25%. Very interesting and funny.

Very knowledgeable. Tough teacher but he knows his stuff. A bit sarcastic, condescending and full of himself at times. He explains exactly what will be covered on his exam. He does his damndest to make the test as hard as can be with distractors. I wish he would keep it simple and test our knowledge not our test taking abilities.

notes are very helpful, tests are a little tricky but you learn a lot in his class, funny & sarcastic..great professor..i recommend him..only problem is his jamaican accent, which can be a little hard to understand at times..other than that..absolutely great teaching ability

Incredibly interesting class. He uses personal anecdotes, lots of handouts, and examples from popular media to illuminate psychological concepts. He can be a bit grumpy, but don't let that phase you! It's an easy A if you pay attention and do the research paper.

He was a great Prof. made you laugh alot laughing keeps you relaxed. If you write down all of your notes you will get an A easy and fun class!!! He is a bit full of himself but who isn"t I highly recommed taking his class.

First of all, his test was tricky. You should write down what he says in the class, and read the text book thoroughly, then you'll get an A. I'm serious. I got an A-, since I wasn't fully prepared for the final. Stop wining, and enjoy the class.

Very helpful, uses good examples to help you understand...he has a good feel when most of the class understands his examples and wont stop until he sure hes understood. hes a bit grumpy when students ask him silly questions but he really wants you to learn. His tests are based on textbook. 3 test worth 25% each and 1 research paper worth 25%.

Very fun professor, I was happy when he indicated that there would be no research papers, just three exams based on what we learned in class. He hardly used the textbook as reference, but I would recommend reading the text before that lecture so you have a clear understanding and get a better grade.

Professor Mesquitta is a very fun and interesting teacher. There are no paper just 3 exams and he tells you what's going to be on the test. Take good notes and write down the examples he gives in class. I really enjoyed his class. I would def. take him again. but he only teaches SSY 101

Best prof I've had. SNARKY & VERY good. 3 tests,no homework,papers or xtra credit PERIOD so don't ask. i work fulltime I also manage to keep up with a toddler but in this class i got "A-" on the first 2 tests and i feel positive about passing the final. Anyways point blank dnt ask ?s just review what he writes on the board eventhough i just studied from the book. Very clear on whats gng to be on the test which is all thats needed!

Prof. Mesquitta is a very fair grader. THE BEST psych professor at LAGCC. Be sure to take good notes and read the assigned chapters/ handouts. Class is never boring, he is hilarious.

I took psychology 101 in Spring Session II and he wasn't difficult. He is pretty straight through on what you need to read and know for the midterm and final (2 exams). He solely graded me on my exam grades and I know I could have gotten an A if I studied more. Overall, great professor :)

He is a great professor. Be mindful, however, he will not take any BS from his student. Make sure you know what you're talking about before you speak up - he won't hesitate to embarrass you. Make sure you read textbook - he's not covering everything he asked for on exam. Exams are fair, not easy, multiple question. He knows his filed extremely well

Probably the only class I never wanted to be absent for. Great professor + great lessons = good times. If I weren't such a lazy student, I'd have gotten a higher grade. READ THE ASSIGNMENTS, take GOOD notes, STUDY and you will pass. If my major required another psych class I would have certainly chose the one he was teaching.

This is a difficult prof. 3 exams for the class and grade does not care for nonsense. Serious about the class and expects the students to be same.

I really enjoyed this professor, even though I got a C I learned a lot. He gives good examples to help you understand. But really study for the exams because if you pass the test, midterm, and final you will pass the class. Also keep up with the readings to understand what's to be discussed in the next time you meet. Very strict also.

He is an amazing prof. Class will be very interesting long as you participate and give your own feedback in class. He gives lectures straight from the book so it's wise to read ahead according to the syllabus given at the beginning of class. Do recommend him to other students just make sure to pay attention.

Thought-provoking and insightful, this class was my favorite so far. There is a lot of reading and the class is led in discussion fashion, requiring lots of preparation beforehand. Points are handed out arbitrarily, but it is easy to get the required number. Large research paper, not as bad as it sounds. Study with your friends.

One of the best classes ever. It was an elective class but I loved it. Every class was full of laughs, no body wanted to miss a class because every class counted full of information and the way that the professor teaches is so helpful and clear.

You won't want to miss this class thats how fun it is especially the class discussions. Professor Mesquita makes class fun! He relates everything to daily life and his life experience. Expect NO hw You can read the text book a day ahead to be prepared, however you don't need to because he will explain everything better.

Hands down one of the best professors at LaGuardia. I wish every professor taught like this. He is my absolute favorite. His lectures are insightful and he is very funny. Honestly, I wish I could take this class all over again. He really is a quality professor.

Not only do you get to hear real life examples of how psychology is applied but their funny stories as well! gives self questionnaires to students so they can learn more about themselves. Super Fair. Calls people on their bull but with humorous good intentions. Highly recommend

3 Tests and 3 optional papers u are graded on the three papers and if you do all three optional papers he will boost your grade up by one for example if you average a B and do the papers you will get a B+ he is so funny and calls people out on their bull but can sometimes be too much but I highly recommend interesting stories and personality EASY A

Loved this class! Would definitely take him again if I had the choice. Professor Mesquitta does gives tough exams. Just took my final and it was hard! You have to study and come to class but its a great class. The professor makes you forget about the time, you won't be bored in his class.

Professor Clarence Mesquitta was an all-around great teacher. I attended his class during the summer session (6 weeks). He was very clear at what he expects from us. Three exams on 3-4 chapters of the textbook, but he gives good reviews the class before the exam. He also has three optional papers that will boost your grade by one (ex. B+ to A-)

One of my favorite professors at Laguardia. I enjoyed his class, he kept it fun and entertaining. Used material outside the text book such as articles and questionnaires that was relevant to the topic. I actually learned a lot as well, I highly recommend him !!

The class criteria was very clear. 3 exams based on chapters that he went over thoroughly in class and his lectures are detailed and entertaining. Participation is a must, if he asks questions he does not continue until he gets a response. He is sarcastic but a fair grader. He also gives extra credit to boost your final grade. Professor Mesquitta is really a good professor, however it may take time in the beginning to get used to his humor. There are 3 main exams, also EXTRA CREDIT! (3 papers) Make sure to do it, it will bump up your final grade- for example if you get a B, you'll get a B plus. Learned a lot in his course, as he used lots of examples in and out of class!

The Best Professor I've came across in a long time ! His lectures are Amazing! You become so interested in them and by the time you come to the class is over. He shares a lot of his personal experience's. He gives extra credit which are three optional papers. His test are multiple choice and not difficult at all. He preps you before each exam.

Loved his class was willing to even take the class over even though I passed because hes that great! The lectures are amazing ! I took this class during a short session so I could only imagine during the longer session how much more you can get out of it. Hes hilarious, gives extra credit and has two easy exams !

Best professor I had so far. He does not need to use powerpoint slides because he is that good in explaining the topics (just do the readings). No homeworks just 3 exams and 3 OPTIONAL papers. If you choose not to do the papers, just make sure you get good scores in the exams. I would love to take his class again!

Dr. Mesquitta is not bad. He teaches everything that you need to know briefly during classes. His lectures are straight forward and he tells stories which enhance your memories. However, everything on exams are based on the textbook! In order to get A , you need to read the textbook (especially the content on the reviews), and do the extra papers!

Professor Mesquitta is truly the best professor I've ever had. He does not use power point during lectures which is refreshing. His teaching techniques are incredible. He has an incredible sense of humor and respects everyone. Everyone in class will be involved. Sitting in the back wont help, be prepared to have amazing discussions.

If you want to get A in this class, you got to read the text book and go throughly with exam reviews. If you need an extra credit of half grade, you need to do 3 optional papers. In this class there are 3 exams with 70 questions but the questions are not hard.

If you are a dump student like the ones who commented negative on him, dont take this profesor. He is very intelligent and you have to understand and adapt to his way of style to appreciate him. He wants to go in the flow of teaching that if he doesnt get the answers he is looking for he will move on and ask another student. Very good professor.

Lectures are memorable, textbook used only for your own reading. Clear grading , you either pass your test or you dont. Do the research papers they help your grade. He gives outlines for his exams so unless you didnt study you should pass.

Ive had Prof. mesquitta two times in the past and his lectures were amazing hes very easy to speak to. You come to his class pay attention pass his exams and write 3 papers youll be good. He is actually my inspiration for becoming a psychology major.
