Doesn't teach anything. Students did all the talking. Radical liberal. Hippie wanna be.
Does not really teach much. Students are suppose to read and all class talk about the story. If he doesn't like our opinion he will tell you. Gives papers with little explanation.
hes cool. i liked hom as a teacher alot, and enjoyed class. just participate and you will get and a. emphasizes participation and encouraged open discussion. i would recommend this professor to anyone.
great teacher, makes everything fun, class participation is a must! recommended if you want to learn, and have fun
He is a very funny teacher. Participation really counts in has class but he doesn't explain assigned papers very well. I would take this teacher again.
Good teacher...he has helped me alot.
He is my favorite teacher ever! If you have a doubt in your mind about something he will do everything in his power for you understand it. He makes his assignments open ended for a reason,so you can expand your mind. He wants to teach you something even if it has nothing to do with Engish. BEST EVER
Great teacher so far. I love his open minded attitude, and how he encourages us to give our opinion. Even if it's different from everyone else's in the class.
Doesnt give too clear of directions for papers. Lots of class discussion. I had alot of fun and if you dont understand something, he is nice enough to help you out. When I thought I couldnt do a paper, he finds a way to pull you through and do good. I'd recomend him and take his class again.
he's an awesome professor! very open minded and willing to listen to your opinions...class participation counts, so if you attend class regularly and do the papers, you'll be fine. I would recomend him to anyone that needs to take an english class.
Proffessor Iverson is so awesome! the whole class discussion thing is very fun, his totally dry sense of humor kept me interested all semester! great guy, learned a lot, recommend to all students who need an ENG credit, but make sure you understand the assignment before you leave class, some are confusing....
He was a really good teacher. he was helpful if u had questions he would make sure you understood. If you participate in class it also helps your grade a lot - no matter what your opion is. Highly recomeded!!
Awesome teacher, very eclectic...a must have!!!
very hard but will make time for U if U need Xtra help - learned alot - participation a must
Quirky, but fun, helpful and caring. I have seen him go out of his way to help a girl who clearly had low self esteem. I was very touched. Also, if you attend class and participate you should do very well.
Very vague directions for assignments, many surprise quizzes (sometimes 2 a class!) I dont recommend him as a teacher, nice guy though, books chosen were ok (frankenstein, the awakening, catch 22, the thin man) Overall not too pleased with the class though.
I think that he is probably the best professor I've had since I started college. So many of my other professors have basically given notes, lectured, and then had a test/quiz on the material. He, on the other hand, cares about his students and wants them to think and open their minds.
I think he is the best teacher I have ever had. He is interesting and keeps the students motivated to speak their minds no matter what the opinion. He is articulate and intelligent and encourages free spirits. His assignments and quizzes are a heavy work load, but it is definitly worth it to take his class. I have never enjoyed a class more!
I've repeatedly taken classes with this professor for the reason alone he blows my mind with his knowledge. Always lends a caring hand, or ear to help with the homework or just listen to your problems. Welcomes thinking and opinions of his students. Highly recommended for any class you'll have to take at Macomb. You won't regret taking his classes.

Many surprise quizzes, so you have to be on top of the reading. He encourages everyone to "shout out" their opinions, but it definitly helps. He has a very quirky sense of humor, making the class that much better. He's always there to help you out on anything. I wanted to cry on the last day because I haven't enjoyed one that much in a while.
very interesting guy- gotta love the hat! no seriously, his class is not a blow off- you're going to learn. He's hilarious in such a weird way- it's always fun in his class. No tests so far, just quizzes and if you do your book work and take notes you'll be fine. Not many notes tho. papers are easy if you know what you're doing. def recommend him!
Professor Iverson is great! Not only does he make the class interesting, you really get caught up in what your reading. Some great choices for short stories and books. He is also understanding if your having a problem, whether its on your hw or if it's personal. It's obvious he's just a nice, caring person. I would recomend this teacher to anyone.
Great teacher if you listen to him. He explains how he would like your paper and if u follow it, you pass. Very different from other teachers and interesting.
This teahcer is the bomb! i love him! hes so funny and if u do ur work u will pass! participation in class is one of the main things but its really easy & fun! no tests..just a midterm and a final and they are TO EAZY! just take few notes and u will be fine! not a lot of homework! i had to do one big paper in his class and it was the easiest paper!
Iverson is a very interesting professor, hes kinda funny, and has funny looking ties and hats, if you take notes and study, always be prepared for a 10 quesiotn quiz he like to surprise you but their real easy, and hes an easy grader highly recommend
i hate poetry and this class confirmed that for me. i never knew what was going on and in order to participate i just said random crap. there were no tests or quizzes and hardly any papers, what were we graded on?? who freakin knows. i dreaded going to this class twice a week for the entire semester.
love him!
Great teacher and makes you enjoy the class. There are a few books to read but they're all interesting. Some papers also but class participation is important.
He is a great person, quizzes frequently. Very helpful. He is there for his students. You won't be sorry if he is your professor.
One of my favorite teachers ever!
great professor and easy to..if you dont get an A...that really sad...very helpful..examples are very clear...2 paper the whole semester
Easy teacher. Just make sure you are always there for his surprise quizzes. Took maybe 10 pages of notes all year.
Prof. Iverson is a nice teacher. A lot of the time you spend class doing nothing and you are always there the whole time there are also daily quizzes you must be there for. He is a nice teacher but doesn't really get the whole writing point across. This class is a easy blow off class just pointless.
awesome teacher
Let me just say, love him and his class! Awesome teacher, keeps the class interesting at all times, YOU'LL NEVER BE BORED with Iverson, I can tell you that much. And to top it off, he does his best to get his point across. Great examples, thorough. One of the best teachers I've ever had. I recommend him to anyone! He wears crazy hats and ties :)
CLARKS THE BESTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
if I could have clark for every teacherI would he his not just a teacher but a friend I loveee clarkster=)
Very disappointed with the way Iverson taught prose fiction. After taking creative writing with him, I recommended him to many friends, now I would not recommend him to anyone.
I had him for all of my English classes except one, and his is by far the best professor I've ever had in my entire life. Not exaggerating. The text is really important if you're in Prose or Shakespeare (obviously), but only slightly less important in Comp classes. ALWAYS there if you need help. I've even gone out for pie with him :)
Do what he says and you should do great. Manage ur time wisely, thats the most important. People who did bad on essays waited the night b4. READ THE GRAMMAR BOOK WHEN HE ASSIGNS IT! it will help u improver ur grade on essays, plus he gives surprise quizes. PROOFREAD UR ESSAYS TO THE FULLEST FOR DUMB MISTAKES. I learned sooo much. Mr. Iverson ura G
Iverson is one of a kind, challenging, creative, dedicated, & a mega-fount of knowledge that rocks a classroom like none other. He?s passionate about teaching students to think outside of the box or simply THINK at all. Studying under him has been an amazing experience. I?ll be sad when I can't bask in his unconventional learning environments ;).
He's the best professor I've ever had. He tends to kind of teach you things without you noticing it. I've taken every class I can from him and I think everyone should take at least one. He's ...well, Super Great.
At first I didn't like him. But after a while, I started to like him. Good guy.
By far the best professor I've ever had. It can be a challenging class, but that's no reason not to take him. I can't believe how much I've learned from him. It was the only class I looked forward to going to.
He's a very eccentric professor and a lot of fun. I've taken two of his classes, Shakespeare Survey and Prose Fiction. Shakespeare was the best college class I've ever had! It was so much fun and quite easy. Prose fiction was much harder and I did not enjoy the books. But I would still recommend his classes.
Great guy, very weird and learned some new stuff not sure on my grade yet. I think he is fair. Sometimes class is pointless with youtube vid but whatever he is funny. you do need to write a few papers and he never hands them back. i never knew what my grade was. I love his top hat. btw very smart guy.
Iverson is Crazy! But I have to say, it was one of the best classes I have ever attended at MCC. He wore a Top Hat (Willy Wonka Style, not Able Lincoln Style) almost every single class. Lots of Youtube Videos. (Some pertained to class, most didnt) Overall, he was a great professor and I highly recommend him. (Papers were never handed back.)
Mr. Iverson does show alot of pointless you tube videos. He did keep the class interested by class participation. Hated his pop quizzes. You need to do the homework he tells you to do and show an interest in his class if you want to pass his class.
very interesting weras a top hat to class most days
Great teacher, absolutely my favorite teacher in a long time. He's a kind man who cares more about his students than anything. He really wants you to learn and will do anything in his power to help you learn. Also he's very funny.
He's pretty awesome. Had him for Shakespeare and made it super interesting. Definitely take his class if you love English. Also a super nice man. Will definitely take him again.
Great sense of humor. Really interesting and great teacher. I wish I could take him for more classes! Just make sure you attend class and do all the papers. He really made boring english 1180 into a fun class. I look forward to his class every day. And he said he was upset that he didn't get any chili peppers on here, so I gave him one.Great guy!
A great teacher, gives alot of quizzes and when he tell you to go over the material, do it because he will quiz it next class.I had to do alot of papers, no exam except the final. Paper are kinda irritating because ruins the weekend a little... overall highly reccomend, very quirky humor, the best teacher of all.You actually do learn with an intrest
Great Teacher, he knows what the students are thinking so it makes it really easy to learn.
I hated his paper guidelines, they were very vague. But if you ask questions he has some insight. I just hated the papers. Pop quizzes were expected when he told you to review something. He plays silly videos. is examples are weird and sometime hard to understand but he will clarify as often as you need.
He is an AWESOME teacher. As long as you come every class and pay attention, study before he gives obvious hints at a pop quiz you will for sure get an A. Papers are super easy, MAKE SURE YOU PARTICIPATE.
Best English teacher I've ever had. Explains material clearly and encourages hard work. Only students who failed were the ones who didn't put in any effort. I could have done without some of the youtube videos he showed us in class but other then that, i would definitely re-take this teacher.
The best advice I can give you about Clark is to not be intimidated when he puts you on the spot. Just talk and he'll help you out. I had him for Shakespeare and Prose Fic and failed almost all of his pop quizzes in PF but he ONLY counts participation. Show up, talk A LOT, and you will be fine. Cool dude.
Hard prof. Didn't like him at all.
Mr.Iverson is a really great teacher! He is a very smart man. He might be a little weird at first but you'll get used to it :) The class isn't too difficult, hardly get any homework, he doesn't grade too hard. Make sure you participate in class!
stupid class... participation is worth 10% but showing up to class is definitely not crucial to know whats going on. hes not bad of a teacher, grades easily but his pop quizzes are the same thing over and over again so study!!! theyre only 4 questions long anyway
There wasn't a textbook for Advanced Creative Writing. I love this teacher. He was awesome. I wouldn't say it was always easy but the homework level was reasonable and really broadened our portfolio of writing with new styles and ways of writing. I highly recommend him. The class was fun, I learned a lot, and I feel it really helped me as a writer.
Easily one of my favorite professors ever. He is super weird at first, but his weird examples and explanations help you to learn and remember things better. His class was enjoyable. I would highly recommend him. Great guy. Great teacher.
<3 Iverson is, by far, the best professor (and person) I know. He has a different teaching style than the average person would be used to, but it worked much better for me. He has his own style (known for his top hat) and his morals and values are put into all of his work. He is very dedicated to his teaching, and will go out of his way for you.
Really to be honest I'm not even done with this semester and I don't want to leave his class. If you love English then you definitely want to take his class hands down best English Professor. Oh what you don't believe me well then just take his class and see for your self.
He is a tough grader on essays. I honestly tried my hardest on an essay and got a B, I had a couple elders read it and they thought it deserved an A hands down. If you speak up a lot in class then take him otherwise I suggest you pick a different teacher. He is funny and awkward. Sometimes the class is a bore only few times will he make it interest
So we started off this class with 30 people and ended up having 12! WORST PROFF. EVER!!!!!! IF YOU DONT PASS THE FINAL EXAM YOU DONT PASS THE CLASS!!!! HE IS HORRIBLE AND HE LECTURES FOR 2 STRAIGHT HOURS AND HE IS JUST HORRIBLE!!! NEVER DISLIKED ANYONE AS MUCH AS HIM
I just took his class and everyone was telling me how tough he was on grading papers, but in reality he is not at all. I got B's or higher on all my papers and the pop quizzes are nothing as long as you review when he tells you too. He is funny and will go the length to make sure you understand. Don't be intimidated by him. PARTICIPATE!
Yes he can be funny, but for the most part he was actually just awkward and very sarcastic. He's got mental illnesses (stuff he's told us in front of the class) and he loses a lot of assignments. He helps when you ask for it but his lectures are dreadful. If you can take a class without guidance, then sign up. If not, then I don't recommend him
Not a usual man. He's steampunk! Made the class very interesting. Cultured in music, arts, history, and a fantastic man. I would stay in his office after class and simply talk with him. He was great and I go visit him occasionally. Tests aren't terribly bad, though beware; you should study. Made sarcastic jokes in class so he was never boring.
Prof. Iverson genuinely cares for his students and their success. If you fulfill your duties by attending class, participating, and studying, he will do his duty to make sure you succeed. You have to earn your grade and he will provide you with all the means to do so. He is one hell of a unique and awesome person and instructor! Highly recommend!!!
Gives ridiculous examples that you cannot relate to and only assigns two papers, that you don't even get back, and expects you to be a better writer without giving you any feedback. He is a very nice guy, just not a good professor.
This poetry class had very hard quizzes, although he never ended up counting any of them. You must participate if you want credit. There is a lot of papers that you write for homework only about two pages per paper. At the end of the semester you give a presentation about your favorite poetpoem. Boring class, nice teacher but scary!
Its the first college classroom that I've ever stepped foot in and I immediately thought this was a class straight out of a Dr. Suess book, top hats and all. After a few attendances I realized I was actually participating in an English class, my judgement was "hasty", this professor is what we would call "Legit" fair on all levels. Took 1180 & 1190
Prof. Iverson is intimidating at first, but stand your ground, don't be afraid to talk, and you'll be alright. He just wants people to participate. He's funny and very cultured. Easy on the eyes, too. An intelligent man. You must show up, study (pop quizzes), and do your best on papers. Go to his office for extra help and he will help u succeed.
Mr. Iverson was one of the best teachers i have had throughout all of school including k-12. He is a tough teacher in a sense, but its because he knows what students are capable of achieving. It is English class so it can be dull but he makes you think about real world problems and not be another drone.
Iverson you not only inspired me as a student, but as a man apart of the real world. If you ever run across this I want you to know that I'm thankful to have had you as a professor. I am a college drop out but I will say that if the other teachers at Macomb took a tip from you I wouldn't be. Pay attention, show up to class, and participate!
He has no syllabus and teaches you things that have nothing to do with english more on the lines of arguments and politics. I would not recommend him and I'm an all A student and got a C.
We had to write papers, take quizzes, learn stuff. It was horrible! ;)
He is entertaining in every way, but he is very vague with his assignments. He doesn't have a clear format for the work he wants done. He does a good job of making his lecture material simple to understand. Outgoing and quirky, but in all good ways. Attendance is mandatory. Papers are easy but instructions are vague. Grammar matters.
Funny guy but wasted too much time on the Elmertown exercise.
Gets off topic a lot Fun guy, but for a comp class there is very little writing involved which did not prepare me for comp 2. No structured syllabus which can be frustrating for those who like to plan ahead.
Participation is really important in his class. My advice is to speak freely whether you're right or wrong; he will appreciate your invoice either way. It's not difficult to do well as long as you study the material he teaches and use correct grammar. He's a great guy with good intentions - don't take his remarks personally. My favorite professor.
He's a good teacher. He didn't return many assignments back to my class so I had no clue how I was doing in the class. Still managed to get an A- though. Vague but entertaining. The group project is fun. Just be ready to be doing it for a few weeks.
He's very funny, he makes the curriculum clear, also his random pop quizzes can be easy just by paying attention to class. He made a English fun, if only every English professor was him.
Hes a very caring and intelligent teacher. As long as you pay attention, show interest, and are respectful in his class, he will do the same for you. He does not post grades on canvas and you cannot pass the class if you dont mass the final. However, his final is simple and so is the class
Great professor, with a witty sense of humor. Took his class for a few English courses and was not disappointed. There is much to learn from this amazing professor. I strongly recommend him to anyone who dreads (or loves) English
He tells you to buy the textbook but we only used it once the whole semester. Gives pop quizzes quite often and doesnt give grades back. I havent recieved any of my past papers back with grades and its finals week. He is funny and makes class interesting!
His heart is in the right place under all the strange and sometimes borderline offensive remarks. I received a high grade but was only one of a couple in the whole class, I worked extremely hard for this grade though. Strange class. Final is very difficult, many people studied hard and did not do well. Its doable if you participate daily and study
Avoid this professor at all costs, the homework you receive never returns to you nor gets graded. Professor Iverson estimates your grade at the end of the semester it isnt based off of your assignments l. If you fail the final you fail the whole course as well, 60% of my class failed the final so he had to apply a curve. Save yourself and avoid.
Do not take this professor. You will write papers and not get them back, so who knows if they were graded. Your whole grade is based on the final. It was a difficult final. Many students struggled on the final. Disappointed I took this professor.
Iverson is a great professor if you are comfortable with English and are willing to participate. A lot of students in my class failed because they chose to talk the whole hour and expected him to keep track of when they turned in their papers and homework. He is very kind and will have insightful conversation after class. He does not use canvas.
Professor Iverson is a hilarious, down to earth and highly intelligent guy. He uses a variety of teaching methods and you can learn a lot if you pay attention. If you show respect and participate in class, you will definitely be on his good side. Multiple papers are assigned but not graded. The final project and exam basically determine your grade.
Thoroughly enjoyed his class my first semester. Very intimidating at times, but the topics that are discussed, he quizzes you on and goes back to them to review them throughout the term. He is very knowledgeable and the class discussions were always interesting. He makes you think and always wants participation. His class is worth taking.
Very unorganized. Wrote a paper in September and he lost the papers and never returned them. Wont know your grade until the last day of class. Very nice but avoid teacher.
Iverson was one of the best Professors I have ever had. The class seemed a little challenging in the beginning, but as long as you do the work and participate in class you will do very well. He is very clear with what he wants done, and he actually wants you to learn it. He actually cared for his students, and wanted them all to succeed.
Iverson is not bad at all! I will say that he is one of the English teachers I actually learned from. Participation matters because he will call you up to the board and ask to find or fix something, so pay close attention in class. Also he does keep a sign in sheet for everyone who is there and who is there and who is not, it is harder to catch up
At first I was nervous to take Iverson's class when he explained to me on the first day that he is one of the most difficult professors. Most complain about him but I have no complaints. If you want your grade for something you must ask. At first he might come off as rude but he means well. He is very understanding and an easy person to talk to.
Had him during the COVID-19 crisis. The transition to online was smooth and he was very responsive to messages/e-mails. Class participation is a must, but he always has something fun and different planned. Pop quizzes happen from time to time but theyre not too bad. Hes got a satirical sense of humor but it is honestly very refreshing.
He was honestly very frustrating. He means well but he speaks as if we live in the 1940s. Wears a top hat. Thinks he's funny. Asked me in front of the whole class if i got an abortion. Made me cry because I couldn't understand ANYTHING he said to me. You never know your grade in the class. Pop quizzes all the time. Do not recommend.
10/10 would recommend this class!!! Most amazing professor and class I have taken at Macomb. Was so sad when it ended. Easy class. The reason I rated it a 3/5 on difficulty was because he makes you go out of your comfort zone. He makes every lesson fun too!! He might seem scary at first, but it is seriously the best class!! EVERYONE TAKE IT!!!
Although Professor Iverson was an amazing person to get to know his class format/ teaching skills were not. I 1,000% recommend you buy the book for his course if not you'll find yourself extremely confused by his definitions. Clark creates all the definitions; therefore, google or any other search engine is useless if you need help understanding.
Out of all the teachers I have taken Professor was the absolute worst. His teaching style is extremely unhelpful he talks about a lot of off topic things and expects you to know his material. I regret not looking in to his class more, because if I knew I was paying to teach myself I would not have enrolled.
I wish I could rate him a zero!! Good luck knowing what your grade in his class is. Hes extremely unorganized and unprofessional!
First off, i never thought an English class would be so hard. You never know whats going on, he gives out random pop quizzes!!! Very difficult and I usually dont have a hard time but this teacher does not know how to make sense even with his assignments. Also HE NEVER PUTS GRADES IN!!!
Iverson was a good professor, no book use at all, and gave many pop quizzes. lectures were kind of boring but you do learn if you pay attention. participation is required at least 3 times of the class. there was a group project but due to covid's first hit we were unable to do it, had to switch to online. if taking online, attendance is required.
Professor Iverson was not it. He was completely disorganized and never puts in the grades for homework and essays, be ready for multiple pop quizzes and lots of memorization . Also be ready to write a research paper worth 1,000 points & be ready to pass the exam in order to pass the class. If you want to know what your grade is 24/7 don't take him
Class was horrible. Literally sat in the chat room on canvas and thats how we learned. Many pop up quizzes. He never puts any grades in. I had no idea what my grade was until the 2nd to last week of the semester.
Terrible class. Must participate two days a week over canvas and zoom. Never knew what's going on. We were given a 2,000 word essay with no rubric and with very little information. This course is finished and he has still yet to grade quizzes and essays from the beginning. He accused many people of cheating on the final. Highly don't recommend him.
For essays and other prompts he would always make it political or about civil war, expecting everyone to have background knowledge about it. Essay was worth 1,000 points and he did not give us and details
I wish I could rate him at a zero. The class was 1600 points total, and the last 2 assignments were 1500 points. Made English 10000 times harder. It seemed like a Ph.D. class, not a first-year class. Quizzes every day. DO NOT TAKE, PLEASE. Save your money because you will be teaching yourself. Hands down terrible.
Clark iverson was the best teacher Ive ever had. Had him for English 1180 at macomb campus, PARTICIPATE, PARTICIPATE, PARTICIPATE, thats the name of the game. Thanks professor iverson, although I eventually dropped out, did GREAT in your class -Arben(circa 2011)
Professor Iverson was AMAZING. I can't say enough good things about him. He is caring, passionate and absolutely hilarious. He keeps class interesting and cares about you as a student. He is always available and willing to help you in any way to pass his class. He does give pop quizzes with absolutely no notice and attendance matters. Worth it!!
participate! even if you are wrong he still wants to hear from you. really nice and i actually learned a lot of him. gives a lot of pop quizzes so pay attention. doesn't grade most things till the end of the semester.
Genuinely a great guy, just be ready to participate in class sometimes. It doesn't matter what your answers are, he always likes multiple opinions and answers. But besides that, the easiest teacher I had at Macomb. His classes are very easy, there's only a few assignments per course since most of the work is done during zoom. He's also a unique guy
Prof. Iverson was one of the worst instructors I have ever had. English is normally my best subject, but he made this course very difficult. He waited until after the final exam to grade all the essays I wrote, so I didn't recieve any feedback. The quizzes and tests were confusing and worded poorly. He is not helpful either.
Professor Iverson's class is by far the hardest I have ever had. He did not grade anything given to him until after the final exam was taken. Despite this, he truly tries to teach students to the best of his abilities. He's a great person and is willing to help if he can. However, if you aren't willing to participate, DO NOT take him.
Professor Iverson was great. My only complaint is that sometimes his examples can be extremely confusing. There is not much homework, a few essays here and there but nothing too difficult. His classroom is a safe space and you don't feel judged for guessing even when you're wrong. Lots of pop quizzes, doesn't effect grade too much.
His class was all participation. I took him online 2 years ago and if you participated you got credit to pass. The exam was the biggest grade by far and would do a lot of damage to your grade. I liked him overall it really was not that hard.
Iverson's a character. Most will either love him or hate him for these reasons: participation is not an option, he won't grade until the semester's done, and you must have a funny bone or two. After those conditions, it would be helpful if he gave us more critiques/feedback in class. He counts on students to give each other feedback.
we did just about nothing the entire semester, which is ironic since ur final exam is worth ur entire grade & attendance is mandatory. made simple concepts hard. gives bs pop quizzes that many people fail but should not hurt ur grade too much. papers r pretty easy though. you must participate or class will be awkward. fun though, and a quirky guy.
Pros: - Has a unique personality - Emphasizes critical thinking - Not necessary to buy book - Not a difficult class (but that doesn't mean he makes it easy) Cons: - Minimal feedback on assignments (but office hours are available) - Consistent pop quizzes - Does not put any grades into Canvas - Assignments do not have clear rubrics and guidelines
He actually cares about students learning. A little weird and kind of amazing.
Professor Iverson, out of all my professors, is/was my favorite. He challenges his students in the creative ways that do not involve tech devices (much if at all). Pro tip: Record his lectures so you can decipher them later (If you don't understand more eloquent language very well). His class is challenging - this is WHY you SHOULD take his class.
Iverson was/is a great professor. Easy and chill class! Rarely ever had homework. Definitely recommend him
Professor Iverson is interesting however the pop quizzes always caught me off , but even if it did they didn't really dent you're grade since participation is worth 90% of your grade ; however, the final was the one thing that got my anxiety off the rails , I passed the final , but barely ;)
he really brought our class together and is a great teacher if you don't want a lonely community college experience and want friends
Professor Iverson is a quirky but engaging teacher. His emphasis on participation can be challenging, but it pays off in the end. The final exam is tough, but with the help of Unstuck ai and a bit of hard work, you can definitely ace this class.
If you are taking his class, get ready to always participate, he doesn't use canvas which is annoying, lots of pop quizzes, 1 final exam and couple essays but if you do the work and study, you should be fine for most part
The class wasn't necessarily hard if you are a good writer and have some background knowledge of basic English. However, his lectures were often confusing and I found myself not even knowing what was going to be on the exam because I wasn't sure what he taught. No Canvas. Taught about a lot of unnecessary things. Nice guy though.
Professor Iverson was such a great professor. Always made jokes and his lectures were interesting. Definitely recommend!
He can come off strong but he is so extremely considerate if your going through a rough patch and will help you out by extending due dates and curving my final exam, he even sent me a thoughtful email after the semester ended. Also if you fail the final exam you fail the class.
