So chill really cares about what he's doing!
One of the best professors I have had.
One of my best professors so far at Texas State. The lectures are so engaging, and you can tell he really cares about his class. He is so chill, and explains things in a way we can understand. There isn't a lot of homework, just do the Revel assignments online and its an easy A. If you show up to class and read the book, exams are a breeze.
He has interesting lectures and VERY engaging in class. He loves to have conversations with you and applies the material to real life. He can have biased opinions on specific topics, and the class can get uncomfortable at times because touchy topics do come up, but he is very open to listening and explaining other perspectives.
He is very nice. He doesn't grade tough, if you put the effort in he will pass you. show up to class or he will start making it mandatory, adding participation points. He lectures based on the readings and asks questions. so if you don't read the will know.
Literally one of the nicest teachers ever, just attend lectures he explains everything super well and encourages people to talk. The only homework you have is due at the end of each week, just some reading and questions, overall super easy to make an A in.
The only thing that is keeping me from rating Dr. Bonazzo higher is that his lectures are boring. He reads straight from the slides that are pulled from the textbook. Then you have to go read the textbook and do the activities after class. It gets a little repetitive and monotonous.
He's a great professor. If you have any personal problems, go talk to him for advice. His instructions may be a little confusing but ask him again to clarify.
This Professor is very kind, he is a funny guy and his lectures are always clear and entertaining.
This class was okay, learned more from the text than I did from the actual lectures. Only because they were mainly just reviews of the text. I did however enjoy the videos and guest speakers when we had them. I did feel bad for the Professor when students hardly showed up for class which made him feel like he was the reason why, but it wasn't.
I really liked Dr. Bonazzo's class. He is really funny and made even the most boring sociological concepts fun! He is kinda assisment-heavy, but they're really easy. The exams are not too difficult as long as you read the textbook and pay attention to the lectures you will do very well in this class.
Dr. Bonazzo's class is an amazing professor! Despite this class being asynchronous he was very responsive to emails and would send Canvas announcements every week with updates on topics discussed and upcoming due dates. Assignments were sometimes tedious but not hard, and exams were easy as long as you have been reading. Would highly recommend!
I love this professor. He is so engaged when he gives lectures and he really makes you think about how sociology impacts our lives. He cares so much about his job and his students and you can really tell. Homework load is very light just connect assignments and 4 tests. Super chill Professor and very interesting!!
Dr. Bonazzo is amazing! He is very authentic, and truly loves sociology. I ended up finding a new respect for sociology. 1 chapter a week, a lot of it overlaps with the lecture. Theres 3 assignments on ConnectED per week, but it isn't time consuming at all, and it's a great review! 10/10 will try to take another class with him in the future.
Dr. B is very well educated and knows his stuff and he wants his students to succeed. He goes above and beyond to make his students feel welcomed and he wants to see them do well in his class. I took his intro to sociology and although the subject can be a little boring if its not your major he makes the class so interactive and interesting. 10/10.
I loved this class. It felt easy to be interested in the content and the class was very engaging. The lectures feel very conversational and there are a lot of opportunities to participate if you want to.
This is the best professor for just an elective credit i needed. He is funny and cares about his students and gives great lectures with many random discussions. If you need to take a sociology class TAKE THIS CLASS! You wont regret it. He makes everything so fun!
attendance required with 4 absences allowed, three weekly assignments, assignments and tests were easy. very invested in his students and passionate about the material, lectures werent amazing but he himself makes up for it
Kind, considerate, and thoughtful are words that come to mind when I think of Professor Bonazzo as a person and a professor. His class is engaging. His assignment are purposeful and reflective. Most of all, he is highly accommodating and supportive of his students.
By far my favorite professor at TXST. Sociology can be super boring and confusing but with the passion he has for this subject, it made it super interesting and fun. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities as well. Has so much respect for anyone and anything. He appreciates if students participate in class.
Best professor you will ever have!! I like that during the lectures, while we (students) take notes from PowerPoint being shown, Professor Claude Bonazzo uses real life examples that will help you have a better understanding of the concept/chapter that you can relate to. Also, plenty of time on the exams/assignments. Open notes/textbook allowed too
He clicks through lecture slides very quick so be prepared for that. Attendance is taken for a grade and if you leave class early he will tell the class how rude leaving early is after you leave. With that being said I literally had to beg him to excuse my absences due to medical reasons for him only to excuse 2/3 which lowered my grade.
If you're taking a sociology class at Texas State, I highly recommend taking Dr.B. He offers a lot of extra credit, attendance is mandatory but he you get 4 free absences and the class is actually interesting. This class will teach you things that you actually want to learn about the world. He's also an ally and first gen!
Prof. Bonazzo's class was the best I have taken so far at TXST. His lectures are engaging, fun, and challenges students to think about society through the sociological lens. We had many incredibly interesting discussions. Attendance is mandatory, but as long as you do your Connect exercises and take good notes you'll get a good grade!
I love dr. Bonazzo! He's very caring and empathetic. He made a point to learn from his students as well as teach.
I loved this class. This professor is not only good at his job, but he is a really good person. His lectures were very interactive and interesting for everyone. His exams were also so easy cause they were pretty much common sense. I wish more professors cared for their students as much as this man does. Please take this as a sign to take this man.
He is an amazing professor! tests and assignments all online test average was always around 90% average . Super nice and cares about students. 10/10 recommend.
He is a good teacher and has good discussions but gets very irritating if a student doesn't speak loud enough when answering questions or if no one knows the answer to his questions. Also throws a fit when kids leave his class early but easy A
Very funny guy, and makes lectures very fun. He does do a lot of online homework but they are very easy and can be completed in like an hour. I would definitely recommend taking him! Also all the exams are online too...
Dr. B was definitely one of my favorite professors I have taken! His lectures are discussion based and wants to know your thoughts on the topics being discussed. He is also very caring for students and is pretty funny! All the homework and exams are online and are easy. He also gives lots of extra credit! definitely recommend taking his class!
VERY easy class. He is very kind and tries to make information interesting. Really cares about his students. Mindful practices done each day. Required attendance, but you get four absences. All work, including tests, done online and VERY easy to complete. Definitely take him if you can!
Attendance is mandatory but you won't wanna miss anyway. It's always interactive and he never lectures at you. The grade is spread out between attendance, essays, and textbook assignments. He is lenient with late work and will work with you if you have a health crisis. Def take classes under him if you get the chance, this is my 2nd year doing so!
He is the best professor I've ever had. He cares about every one of his students and our mental health, he makes lectures fun by incorporating humor. He is an amazing teacher, but an even better person and he goes out of his way to help students succeed.
He was a great professor and I highly recommend him. He cares very much about his students! Class itself was easy. He takes attendance at beginning of every class. Grade is based off of McGraw Hill assignments, McGraw Hill quizzes, and exams. They are not hard; you just have to do them. I again highly recommend this class!
One of the best professors you will have at TXST! Professor Bonazzo made me want to go to class not only because he makes his lectures fun & entertaining, but also makes it clear how much he genuinely cares for his students. He's personable and super flexible! Although I'm not a sociology major, I want to take more of his classes!
This class was always my favorite to attend because lecture was fun, and all of the homework assignments were clear and easy to complete quickly. He is very nice and cares to hear your thoughts about how his class is going to make it better for you.
His class is easy but the way he teaches is annoying. He doesn't post lecture slides, so if you miss the material then tough luck. He throws a fit if people don't answer his questions, and he calls out students who leave class early.
Great professor, but we do have quite a bit of assignments, it isn't hard to manage if you stay on it but I can be a lot sometimes. Very lecture heavy, I wouldn't recommend taking this class in the morning because it is very hard to stay awake in lecture. overall, a very good class and professor, he gives a few EC opportunities.
Great professor! Every class starts with a quick meditation that helps calm and soothe the mind before starting class. Obviously, it is a lecture class but the professor makes it a point to have a discussion about the topic with the class. The work is light with 2 reflection papers, 2 exams, and a media project. Great atmosphere, great discussion!
He's awesome. The lectures are always interesting and he encourages everyone to participate in the discussions and give their feedback. He doesn't put the slides from the lectures on Canvas, so make sure to take notes in class. The tests cover everything he talks about so if you attend the lectures and keep up with your McGraw Hill, you'll do fine.
Such an amazing, thoughtful, caring, inspiring professor. Just finished his Gender and Society course, and immediately signed up for his Race and Ethnicity course for next semester. I was always excited to come to class and participate in his thought provoking discussions. 100% recommend him!
Incredible professor, very kind and compassionate and really cares for his students. Always very nice and we did like breathing exercises everyday before class and there was lots of good discussion time in the class.
Very caring professor, would recommend taking him! He loves sharing stories that connect to the lessons and loves when people engage (ask questions/ answer his questions) PSA - he will call you out/ make a joke if you leave early
BEST PROFESSOR AT TEXAS STATE! TAKE HIM!!! I cannot stress how amazing he is as a professor. He makes lectures fun and entertaining. There is a lot of homework but its the Mcgraw hill assignments. His exams are open note open book and really easy. If you fail his class or get even below a B you had to really try to do bad.
Good professor! I hate that I had him so early because I know I would've enjoyed his lectures more if I was more awake. His homework is on McGraw Hill and it can get tough if you procastinate, but overall his class is not hard. Attendance is mandatory though and is a big part of your overall grade!
All tests and final are online. Graded by mcgraw hill and tests. Doesn't post lecture slides or give out study guides. Tests are pretty easy and you can get extra credit by going to his club meetings.
He's the best professor I've had yet. He's super hilarious and loves to engage with the class. The assignments are open note and open book so everything was fairly easy. I enjoyed this class and learned a lot!
I had an amazing time in his class. Exams and Homework are ONLINE and they're open notes. Easy class, easy A!
Dr. Bonazzo is one of the most caring professors on campus, and included mindful activities at the start of each class. Exams and assignments were fairly easy. Attendance is mandatory and included into final grades. Interesting lectures, and Dr. Bonazzo tries to include students in discussions often.
This is my first Sociology course, as my minor is in this field. By far the best professor I've had during my academic pursuits. Instead of lecturing, he discusses with us as a class, and I find that to be him meeting us where we are. Not many professors get that. The essay prompts are super fun and make you think about your identity.
I have nothing bad to say about Dr. Bonazzo. On the other hand, the TA, Julia Ruth grades papers unnecessarily hard for a class that is NOT writing intensive. On top of that, she will give unclear explanations for the grade and usually just recommend you go to the writing center. I do not need help forming basic sentences Julia. 8/10 Prof. 2/10 TA.
his class was one of my favorites this semester. he is really understanding. he does require a lot of readings but they are fun and the lectures are based of the readings. attendance is mandatory but the class is so fun its easy to come
This was honestly one of my favorite classes I've taken ever. Dr. Bonazzo is truly a caring professor who understands if you have personal stuff going on at home and is willing to work around your schedule. He keeps the class engaged during lecture and his work load is extremely manageable, exams are open note and the group assignments are easy.
I absolutely loved Dr. Bonazzo. His dad jokes were pretty funny and you could tell that he cares about his job and his students. He is very accessible outside of class and will work with you to better your grade if you need it. He is a genuinely sweet human being and I would take him million times if could.
I looked forward every class, because this professor loves to do meditation breathing exercises beginning of class and it makes me feel better throughout the day. Other than that highlight, he was very caring about each student as long as they put work in but he also inspired me to do better with mental health.Would take this class again for sure!
He cares for his students and wants everyone to succeed. We had two multiple choice tests and they were a little difficult but he lets you use your notes. There are reflective essays which are graded relatively easy. He has interesting lectures and subject matter. Not too hard to get a good grade in class.
Not sure if this class has been taught in the summer before. In my opinion, this class felt very disorganized. I regret wasting my time and money on this class.
I couldn't stand this teacher after the first month-This class is race and ethnicity and yet not all races were represented and nothing new was taught that being ethnic in America doesn't already show you. He is needy and has grandiose ideas of change. I don't have enough characters to be able to tell my true thoughts on him. Don't take this class.
If you do your work and study, you will be fine. He also offers extra credit.
He definitely cares about his students. From my experience the only thing I personally didn't like was that the exams were quite difficult. The study guild only covered half of the material on the exams. Other than that, he was great and I would take his class again
excellent instructor who genuinely cares about his students' success. He explains complex topics clearly and is always willing to help, whether during office hours or through additional resources. His passion for teaching made the class engaging and enjoyable. I really appreciated his patience and dedication. Highly recommend him!
Absolutely Horrendous, I mean Come on…..Bruh
Took this online and it was very easy and also learned a lot. homework, assessments, and assignment due each week on sunday nights. super easy and accessible. ended up with a 95 because I did the assignments. You have 2 tests (not proctored) and 1 paper that is easy. overall good class and learned a lot.
Really Great Teacher!! He was one of my favorites this semester and he's really understanding and super funny. He does give extra credit which is awesome and you can tell he cares about his students, as long as you do the work and assignments you should be fine! (= Definitely take his class if your able too!
This professor was one of the best I've had at Texas State. He cares about his students engaging in his lectures and makes lectures easy to follow. Provides extra credit as well.
Dr. Bonazzo is an amazing professor, he is kind and super funny. His course is simple, there are 3 main exams with some textbook exercises to do here and there. Take this class if you need sociology!!
One of my favorite professors ever; his lectures are interesting, and he is constantly engaging with students. Most assignments are on McCraw Hill, and he only hands out 3 tests. Exam reviews are similar to the exams. Super sweet and funny!
I'm so surprised by all the great reviews. Maybe our class sucked, or he was having a difficult semester, but all of our test averages were below 60%. Got off topic and spoke on the same slide/statistic for so long, i hated coming to class. Slides never posted on time. Reviews sent out days before exam. Attendance mandatory. I don't recommend him.
He is a funny professor. The lecture discussions were always something I looked forward to. We had 2 exams and 2 papers with option of final being an exam or final paper.
Dr. Bonazzo is a great professor. He truly cares about his students, and wants them to make meaningful connections about their experiences of gender within society. This class has a lot of opportunities for students to share their thoughts and experiences of gender within their own lives. I recommend this class and professor.
He is very nice and a great professor. His lectures are interesting and engaging. He does offer some extra credit
Even though I haven't taken his classes for my credits. I have attended a few of his lectures with my girlfriend for her class, and I liked the guy for how wholesome of a person and caring professor he is. Most of the students at his class enjoyed attending his class and received A's. A must-take professor who cares about students.
This class was really cool. You can really tell that he likes to teach. He is really enthusiastic and hilarious. Classes never boring. The homework assignments weren't really hard at all. They were easy grades that were almost impossible To fail. If you need to take sociology, please take him as your professor, You won't regret it.
Very nice and Caring professor. I didn't take up any with him. However, I attended a few of his lectures with my girlfriend, and He is surely one of the best and coolest professors you could get at TXST. Must-take professor he is!
Dr. Bonazzo is a wonderful professor. He is very funny and really cares about his student. The assignments are pretty easy too. 10/10 professor.
He's a very nice and humorous guy, and you can tell he loves teaching. The assignments in the class are pretty straightforward, and the exams aren't bad if you study what you learned in class. There are also many extra credit opportunities. Take this class if you need an easy A.
PLS do no take this professor. He gives LOADS OF ASSIGNMENTS! 2 quizzes (proctored), 2 assignments, 2 pack back discussions for 1 week! Acts like his class is the only thing in the world when students have lives outside of school. So incredibly inconsiderate. Never again.
Going into the class I did not think I would have to work as hard as I did. It is very difficult and needs a majority of your time. If you are not a sociology major and are taking this class just for filler credits I do not recommend this class. Exams are hard, assessments are hard and EVERYTHING IS PROCTORED!
He is a great professor! The course was engaging and he always kept it interesting, holding in-class discussions every lecture that helped us learn and understand the material better. There was a wide variety of teaching styles used that made it connect with everyone's learning styles.
Hilarious guy class is great, lectures are the entire class time and the slides get a little boring, but all in all an amazing class.
I ADORED Dr. Bonazzo's class. He cares so much about his students and understands that people have lives outside his class. He is hilarious and super sweet. Lectures are long and can get kinda boring. He assigns 1 assessment and 1 reading per week and posts the slides for the chapters he covers. Study guides are good, and exams are pretty easy.
he is an amazing professor and most of all an amazing person, he truly truly cares about his students. there isn't crazy amounts of work however you can fall behind very easily. if you have the opportunity, don't hesitate to take his class, he's the best !
Professor Bonazzo is a very funny guy and super caring! I will say that attendance is mandatory, there's like 3 tests and 1 final, lots of McGraw hill assignments, and his reviews don't always match the tests. He does offer extra credit.
An amazing professor who really cares about his job and the students he works with! You will not regret taking this class
Overall, it was an easier course with clear homework and grading expectations. However, the exams were a bit tough and weighted a lot, so if you didn't do well in one, it was hard to maintain a good grade. Personally, I didn't do great with the first exam, so I really studied and worked hard for the second one and still barely made an A.
He offers a lot of extra credit towards the end of the semester and sitting front row seat wherever he teaches is the best seat i cant even lie
