Interesting and sense of humor
His lectures go too fast and u cant make up his writing
Fast paced, but funny
Say it with me people "Annuity"!
ANNUITY!
Claude Theoret a.k.a Mr Garrison, constantly says hm'kay and annuitay, funny guy
A very mean marker for finals.
Mr. Hat is the TA
Anuitay, anuitay aunuuuuuitaaay
What the hell is "quantitay"
...and what are inventrees? twentaay, thritaay, fiftaay.....

funny but very fast paced....
This man has made up his own accent. Cross between N. California, Quebec, etc..
Hard to like a teacher when you don't like what he teach but some manage not him
good sense of humour...fair tests and exam...awesome!!
Very humourious... enjoyed this class. Good prof, easy to talk to.
Human tape recorder. Press play.
class was noisy. final exam was fair. prof receptive to questions.
Very good course!!
Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Annuitay!

he really looks like an economics teacher (that's a compliment)
Very fair & everything about the accent is true. SCARE-SEE-TAY
Found him to be a good prof, very easy course, good at explaining, fair.
Really good prof. Sure, the class can be a bit boring. But he ends the 3 hour lectures a good half hour early. He's funny. He explains things in a good way and makes it seem simple. His assignments and miderms are easy.
Easy course. Fast pace. Lots of fun. Fair exams. Old **** :-)
Fairly easy class...
very good prof, love the jokes, just wonder why he ends things in "ay" instead of "y"
He's a good prof but the problem is in the course itself,it's a boooooooring course, but he himself is so good and funny ;)
incredibly funny, actually looks out and makes time for his students
Really enjoyed his style of teaching, and how he aimed at giving students good marks -but letting them earm them. I loved his accent, his sense of humour, and how everything was referred back to either pizza, cigarrettes, alcohol or beer and nuts.
Very boring. He never assigns work, and his question sheet on his website comes already solved. His lectures are quite confusing, but his notes off the web are better. I learned absolutely nothing in his class.
I enjoyed this prof for ECO 1104, but I don't like him at all for Cnd and the World Eco. I haven't learned anything. He goes so fast and assumes we know it all already. Doesn't bother actually teaching us anything.
Great porfessor, good speech and funny. Long -fatigants- exams, however they are multiple choice and easy to get good marks. =)
Worst prof ever
Great prof, funny guy, good sense of humor, conveyed information well. Fairly enjoyable course.
very, very good prof. He's very helpful and clear when he explains. I appreciate the fact that his exams are multiple choice (Thank you professor!!!)
He is a great prof. His lectures notes are clear and his lectures are actually interesting. I a 3 hour class with him and rarely found myself bored during his lectures. His exams are reflective of what was learned in class- there were barely any surprises.
He's really active, funny and his classes are interesting altough the material is very confusing
i hate eco, but he made it quite interesting. anyway he helps alot.
He needs to do more examples in class. If you use the problem sets and old midterms to study from, you'll do fine. He takes exact questions from the midterms to put on the final, except for the numerical ones, which he changes some numbers
excellent notes. Knows his eco inside out.
Claude Theoret takes a lot of time (but not time-wisely) to prepare his lectures. Unfortunately, they are done in an unorganized, cumbersome and confusing way. His exams which, unfortunately are all made of multiple choices, are very tricky and full of traps. He prepares his lectures, but in a cumbersome way.
What a boring class. Study old midterms, finals, and solution sets and you will pass no problem. He reuses the questions
Good prof. Study the sample tests and make sure you know how to solve the example problems/charts on his lecture notes.
OMG! That was such a boring class! I had took it because i thought the subject look interesting, but I really didn't learned anything. Mr. Theoret was using another prof slides and was acting as if he wanted to be somewhere else. AVOID this class.
It's not his fault the class sucks. Very helpful guy if you go see him, GO TO THE TUTORIALS that he holds before midterms/final; he basically tells you exactly what to study. Has a sense of humour, it's the key to his good side. that, and showing up to all his classes
Hard to hear, does not use the microphone
VERY VERY VERY CONFUSING CLASS. USE OLD MIDTERMS AND FUNALS TO STUDY. NOTES WON'T HELP
He's great professor. Yes, he doesn't use his microphone; that's why u need to set close to him to enjoy his wonderful lectures. He gives a lot of hints about exams and that's why u need to attend his all lectures and tutorials. He's funny too.
Boring class. The examples in his notes are disorganized and he doesn't use a microphone, which makes it impossible to hear what he's saying. Tests are multiple choice, but don't let that fool you; half the questions are worded ambiguously, and he loves using "none of the above". He's funny and helpful at times but he can also be very unreasonable.
He is funny guy. You have to ask him questions in order to learn. The multiple choice exams were not as hard as someone said. You will find the questions are fair if you have read the textbooks.
Nice man, but his exams are gong-shows. There's always 2 options that look good. You won't get a good grade, but once you know how to study for his exams, your knowledge of economics will soar greatly. But you still won't get a good grade.
Great prof and makes the easiest midterm exams ever but the final was much harder since he is not the only one who makes it....so study hard for the final exam but the midterm is really easy all multiple choice questions
Boring prof. The midterms and final exam are all multiple choice exams. Throughout the semester he has 4 midterms (two real and two make up), but the make ups are very short and confusing so they don't actually improve anything. DO go to his "review" sessions because that's the only time he will actually talk about what is on the upcoming exams.
Hard to make a positive remark because I was not at all interested in the course taught (Macroeconomics), but Professor Théorêt is an amazing prof that really cares about his students' success. He puts in a lot of time attending study groups and correcting homework in class until everyone understands
Teacher went too fast. Lots of useless slides. I read all the chapters and slodes and still got a mediocre grade. Make up midterms dont help much as they are just as hard. Exam is easier since it considers other professors.
Fantastic prof.
This prof is AMAZING.He made me love economics! lectures are well organized and his exams are really easy and they r all multiple choice questions.I've never used the textbook cause it complicates things! He gives 2 HW only in the semester which r pretty hard but the exams r way easier.Plus if u go and ask him about the HW, he'll give u the answer.
Very good professor. He made economics very interesting. He's very passionate and explains the content well. If you need help with anything, GO TO HIS OFFICE HOUR SESSIONS!! As the semester went on, they became like a DGD because more and more students started going. He's very helpful with assignments. Very fair exams.
Nice guy, clear speaker, easy to pay attention to.
Don't buy the textbook. Very boring lectures but its not his fault. The midterms and exams are fair but make sure you look over the notes and understand every slide. Lecture notes lack comments so you must go to class to hear what he says about them. Enthusiastic but his repetitiousness can be irritating.
The most boooring university course ever!!!!!!!!! Rather take Calculus 3!!!!
Loved having this teacher. Great explanations. He knew how to make us like economics.
Cool/Funny/Guy
He is a god amongst me men. Perfect in every way, none are worthy to be in his presence.
I'm sure he knows his stuff, but the class is so boring that it's impossible to fully comprehend what's going on. Exams are all multiple choice, but read the questions carefully, as he will throw in several tricked questions. Try to make up grades lost from exams in the assignments.
Don't take this professor, he always makes mistakes on his ppt which makes you sooooo confused...I don't think he's good at teaching this course.
I've had the opportunity of having him as a prof for both ECO1102 and ECO1192 (? Engineering Econ). He's very clear and helpful. ECO1192 is just an extremely confusing course, and has little to do with how this prof delivers the course. His exams are a bit tricky but easy overall if you know the material.
A cool, funny prof. He does a great job of teaching the material, which is sometimes a bit dry. Midterms and exams are tricky, but turn out well if you know your stuff.
The textbook is very confusing but it isn't used much in this course. Most of the course material comes off of the prof's powerpoint slides but be careful, they are full of typos. His exam questions are taken directly from his notes so if you are familiar with his notes, the exam should go fine. Overall he keeps things very simple.
A great prof. Nice guy, easy to follow.
He's a really nice prof, very helpful. On more than one occasion though, his midterms and assignments had multiple errors in the answer key. He's very understanding about mark adjustments though. The final exam was surprising, not what we expected, but still straight forward. Make sure to do the practice midterms.
I was very upset with his competence in evaluating students. You're mark is more based on his mistakes than you're own. His evaluation is almost completely arbitrary. People don't even show up to exams and get 100%
Nice guy, lectures are decent. However, very little feedback provided on learning - grading is all multiple choice. Answer keys contained mistakes and were inconsistent across different versions of exams. Very confusing.
Did not like powerpoint presentations. Final exam included material that was not covered in class.
Chillest prof ever. Knows that nobody wants to be there, but he still makes an effort to keep you intrigued. Class is still really boring though. Midterms and the final are tough, and most people guessed most of the answers. You didn't need to pass the final, so get a high classwork mark to make it so that you don't need a high mark on the final.
Although there were some mistakes on his practice exams and midterms, he is a good teacher. He is extremely funny and keeps students engaged with his jokes despite the dry material. Overall, it is was a good experience.
He's the best ECO1102 prof in uOttawa. He teaches so well and explains amazing. I wish there were more classes I can take with him. You should give preference to him over any other prof teaching the course. There is so much to learn from him!
His exams are hard, study the slides really well as the questions are from the slides. Go to the DGDs! He gives the answers to the assignments. Always bumps up the marks because he makes many mistakes in the correction
He kept students engaged even at 8:30am and 10am, he was interesting to listen to, the lsides always helped and he would take time aside to further explain things he thought were important on the board. He takes alot of extra time and is always running out of time, his exams and assignments are all multiple choice and very fair
Avoid if you can. Subject matter in his course is much more difficult than other ECO1102 profs. Slides are riddled with mistakes. Tends to go off on tangents and teach things beyond the scope of the class (problematic for students without a math background). Exams are really tough and sometimes include questions on topics not taught in class.
Prof is really entertaining and engaging and funny but thats not why im here. The course itself is really difficult and he rarely solved questions from the ppts and flew by the course material. We did not have a DGD for this class and his TA's were never in their office hours. AVOID or annoy him with extra questions and focus
Lectures are a cure for insomnia but the material is straight forward enough. His exams follow the same pattern every year so studying isn't a problem. Not an engaging prof but the material is dry to begin with.
The lectures were extremely boring. As long as you have the slides, you'll be okay, no textbook necessary! It is easy to find his previous exams online, and they all follow the same format. So if you can do practice midterms, you can do real midterms too!
He has no assignments, exams are only multiple choice, 3 throughout the term but takes the best two, always there to help if you want
Claude is the best
Good Class
He's a great guy, and a funny prof! However his slides are filled with typos and for the most part are unclear. If you do have Econ with him you'll have an easy time with the midterms but be sure the read from the TEXTBOOK.
Claude is the most entertaining prof you will ever have. He's like the Bill Murray of profs.
Even though the subject is kind of dry, I found him pretty entertaining. The textbook is a must, as it explains the concepts very clearly (I used the 5th edition, and did not suffer at all for it). If you do the readings and attend lectures, you'll do great! Also, he is a very helpful and reasonable guy!
He tends to rant a lot. he doesn't really uses the slides and tends to draw more diagrams on the board and focus on broad concept rather than application, so i would definitely suggest going to class. The textbook is definitely needed but only because the textbook explains everything in much better detail! if you have him good luck!
The textbook is essential to your survival or you will not pass! The only reason I passed was because I read the textbook and did the practice questions. I personally did not enjoy his teaching style, he is a nice and obviously intelligent but the way he explained was confusing. 3 mid-terms,takes the best 2 50% of grade, final exam 50% of grade.
good prof, simple power points, good lectures, would take again. Took him in senior year in high school as a bonus class and did fine. His exams are all multiple choice, like most economics classes. Funny guy, cracks jokes sometimes.
Funny prof, pretty good at explaining concepts. Multiple choice exams were pretty easy
AMAZING professor! All tests and exams are multiple choice, which is a great advantage in micro econ. He counts the best 2 of 3 midterms, so you can afford to mess one up and still get away with it. Tests and exams are super easy as long as you study, he is always there to help you out and is a gem of a person. HIGHLY recommended!
Amazing guy..!!!
Loved this professor. He really knows his stuff and he's a funny guy. You should read the textbook though and do the study guide questions, but his midterms were 100% multiple choice and straight forward. He definitely made micro enjoyable!
This guy is a LEGEND! Down to earth, nicest teacher ive ever spoken to. I HIGHLY recommend going to his class. He's very clear if you pay proper attention.
Lectures are boring. Practice previous papers and you are good to go. He bell curves a lot.
Lectures and material were boring but straightforward. The prof tries to be funny and make it interesting though. Midterms had a couple of questions from practice midterms. The assignment was hard but he takes the best two grades from the 2 midterms and assignment. Could have gotten an A+ if I actually tried.
Amazing prof! You have to attend class if you want to do well. You can't expect to do great if you don't go to class. He gives a lot hints for exams in his lectures. Must attend the review seasions . No need for textbook, power points are sufficent.
Never asked for help, but I'm sure its there if you ask. HALARIOUS GUY. Very accommodating, 3 easy multiple choice midterms and he only counts your best 2 marks. gives old tests so prep for midterms & finals is easy. sometimes confusing material but if you show up to class he clarifies it very well. no textbook. you're BLESSED to have him
Absolutely atrocious style of teaching - he zooms by things in class and it's impossible to hear him half the time. Half his power-points are impossible to understand - even if you show up! Only reason people like him is because he LITERALLY gives out marks for showing up to class; this is just a way to cover-up the fact that this he can't teach.
Good prof! He tells funny jokes and gives out marks for attending review sessions before exams. He gives us practice tests and many of the questions are the same on the exam. Three midterms, he takes best 2 of 3 marks. Hard to follow his slides, read the textbook and watch youtube videos! If you are good at multiple choice you will do well.
He has a great sense of humour, and uses it to enhance the experience of his lectures; furthermore, he is excellent in terms of understanding and answering questions that students have. Exams are multiple choice, but if you show up to lectures, they should be fairly straight forward. Expect to have at least a chuckle or two during class.
He could have made this course a lot more difficult, but decided to make things easier for us. All of his exams were Multiple Choice and his notes were very helpful and basically cover everything you need to know. He tells you what will be on the test and even arranged a review class hours before the final exam. You can tell that he loves teaching!
Funny guy who knows the contents very extremely well. Didnt even buy the book since he explained each of the contents chapter by chapter in class. Easy class if you just study the test examples he gives you since they are practically the same as the two midterms and final. Definitely recommend for the funny jokes and easiness of class!
Amazing prof! I had already taken the same class but with a different professor and FAILED! I was worried because I could not afford to fail it again. He honestly helped me understand the concept of the course and really wants his students to pass. I went from failing the course a year ago to passing it with an A last semester :) !!
Great teacher, best one I had yet
Always there for is students, best prof I had and his really funny
He's OK. Boring class, lots of lecture notes. Look at past exams online.
Go to class, and listen to the prof. He knows what he's talking about. Funny guy.
Great guy, really funny and helpful if you have any questions, though he does tend to make a lot of typos in the assignments which can be frustrating. One 7-10pm lecture per week, def. easy to fall asleep in. ATTEND THE LAST CLASS, he gives a ton of hints on what will be on the final as well as exact questions from the final.
Awesome prof. Always available with extra office hours before exams/midterms/assignments. If you you don't understand something, go ask for clarification and he will make it clear. Nice guy, and funny.
The class is not very interesting so it can be difficult to stay focused, but Claude did his best. He makes good jokes and gives a lot of hints about whats on exams. He is probably the best prof for Engineering Economics, judging by what other people have told me about their profs. Test are not too hard and don't get the textbook.
Great, funny guy. Lectures can get long but he keeps it interesting. Assignments can be tricky but if you go through the steps in the book you should be fine. Go over practice tests (assigned or through NoteBro....), they're identical to the midterm and final. D
Awesome prof! I took this course with another prof and failed. Econ is clearly not a subject that comes easy to me, but Claude's explanations cleared everything up. Oftentimes with his exams there is only one answer that makes sense and the answers are sometimes embedded in other questions, making his exams easy to bs if you need to. Great guy!
Claude Théoret is not the most interesting professor, but it's clear that he knows what he's doing. He tends to speak in a monotone, but is very funny and can make an otherwise boring class bearable. Midterms and finals are horrific, but the grades are often boosted (all multiple choice). Notes are thorough and explain the course content well.
Pretty easy class. Make sure you go to lectures to mark the important slides and to get all the hints he gives. If you study the important slides and do the practice midterms/finals the test are easy.
super nice prof, and dedicated to teaching. Claude is the best.
One of the better profs that takes his time and willing to make sure student understand the content. His Final is a bit everywhere but everything else is great. He hosted extra lectures for students to understand unpaid and drove from Montreal on the weekend for us.
Very nice professor, with a good sense of humour.
Seems great, but was too disorganized for my liking. No textbook is good, but his slides have so much information and he skips many of them at random. To save yourself headache just focus on what he actually covers in lecture. The cumulative final exam was nuts. It was so hard, I got a 73% and he curved me to an A+. Funny though, I barely studied.
He's pretty funny and his tests aren't too hard, but there's often little things in them that aren't in the notes. Do the practice tests he posts because they're basically the same as the exams. I would only fault him on the fact that his lecture style is really old school, and it doesn't look like he's changed his slides in years.
PRO Claude is a great Teacher. He is very funny and helpful. His notes and slides are very clear. If you attend every class, you don't need to buy or read the textbook. He explains the topic very well and clear than the book.
I had to buy the textbook because I couldn't understand his teaching. Disorganized, rambles a lot, skips slides, gives either way too much information or basically none. His slides are either incomprehensible (graphics missing information) or have too much information - that's why you have to show up to class. But the workload is minimal.
Theoret is pretty good, but has an old-school style. His slides are available online, but worthless. Be prepared to show up and take notes. His tests are easy though; I forgot about the first midterm entirely, didn't study, showed up and aced it. His office hours are good, he'll usually just give you the answers for projects.
This prof is boring but you don't have to go to class. Read the textbook, do the quizzes and you'll probably get at least an A.
Examens : Choix multiples.
Great teacher, really knows the material well and is happy to share his knowledge and experience. He focuses on the important parts, so attending and paying attention to the lectures saves you a ton of studying.
Literally the best Econ prof at UOttawa. Would take his class over David Grays ANYDAY. Midterms and Final are 100% multiple choice and simple questions are asked. Very slack and gives funny and awesome lectures.
This guy makes an otherwise boring class interesting enough, especially as a 7-10 lecture. Lots of lecture slides and in-class examples, so try not to miss too many. Very knowledgeable and approachable dude, makes his midterms/finals relatively easy if you study well, well worth taking.
Awesome. Had him for two different economics courses. His class structure is fantastic. No fluff, no wastes time. Very fair questions on exams. He tests your understanding of economics as opposed to memorizing a text book or worse a book pushed and written by a professor. Very happy.
If I had attended more lectures and paid attention in the ones I went to, I probably woulda passed. Highly recommend you stay in class after the midterm. He gives extra marks for that, only when you're consistent, that is.
This guy is a wasteman tells the story a student failed his class but attended every lecture and bumped him to a 70. But doesnt bump students doing well to the next grade who attend lectures.
Great professor!! He is a bit rambly and half the time I had no idea what he was talking about. He does amazing review lectures before midterms and exams (do not miss them because he tells you everything thats on the test). This class is an easy A... all test are multiple choice and the expectations are very clear.
First year economics is heavily standardized. He's a decent prof, a little on the dry side but he knows his stuff and if you care about the subject beyond what you will be tested on he's very interesting. Grading criteria can be confusing + inconsistent, but he gives students who don't test well the opportunity for extra credit and it saved me
Dude is funny enough but gets pissed if you want help and you can't email him. Makes it up as he goes. Easy but expect to lose marks on the test because he didn't proofread it.
Cest un super cours. Pas vraiment de calcul et le professeur est très à lécoute mais aussi captivant Il suffit de suivre les cours régulièrement et vous pourriez même penser que léconomie est un domaine facile.
Hilarious teacher, his lectures can get boring if your're not especially interested in the subject. The powerpoints are useless, so attending is super important. His midterms are easy if you study his practical exams. Final was more difficult. Overall, funny and caring guy, isn't trying to fail you.
Very boring. You will fall asleep during the lecture. Most of the time, nobody will understand what he is talking about. Attending lectures is useless. Just study at home using the book. He kinda winks all the time which I find distracting
He's a good teacher and knows what he is talking about. However, he has many mistakes in his exams which is very frustrating. Also, he takes a week to answer emails. All of his exams are multiple choice. His final exam was extremely difficult and hardly covered any material learned in class. Would not recommend him.
It was a bit tough, especially when his classes were from 7-10. However, he did a lot of review sessions, so I guess that's good.
So first off this guy is hilarious.. so that makes the lectures bearable. So, I had no background in econ and took this as an elective. I literally just studied the practice midterms and final.. which led to an A+. Obviously make sure you grasp the material somewhat and you can get an easy A. All MC choice tests so pretty easy stuff. No surprises.
midterms and final were easy-fair, he gives practice midterms with so many questions on them. its all multiple choice, i didnt attend any lectures but just read the textbook and understood the concepts. super nice prof
multiple choice 2 midterms and exam. gives optional work to replace the grade of a midterm if you want. HES A GOOD AND CLEAR PROF. if you go to class and listen to what he says, he basically tells you whats on the exam. there are no surprises. no need to buy the textbook or study ppts. he teaches you what you need for the exam. i took as elective
Literally the most caring prof I had first year! He makes sure his students know EXACTLY EVERYTHING they need to know for midterms and the final. His midterms were more than fair, especially the second and third one. Our third midterm was a take-home midterm, which he had made so simple and if you had any questions, he was always ready to help.
He is a little boring, and I stopped going to lectures, but I managed to ace the course just from past material and reading through the whole book. The book goes into much more detail than what you need however. The assignments can be done in groups, the exams are a but tricky, but he has different grading schemes which help you get your best grade
Bird course, the lectures aren't needed to do well. Assignments are kind of a pain but tests are easy and similar to practice tests. Pick GNG 2101 if you want a more hands on practical course, ECO1192 if you want the easy credit.
Great teacher who gives great, concise and useful lectures. He tells you what is important and makes the 3 hour lectures bearable by giving breaks and making jokes.
Great prof! Makes lectures more bearable by adding humor. Tests and assignments reflect what was taught in class, and he even arranges review sessions before tests. He's very straightforward, so lectures don't take 3 hours. His grading is great because he's very flexible. Make sure to do the practice tests, they're very similar to the tests!
I had him for 3 hours at night. He never kept us for more than 2 hours. He was clear and concise. Was ready to help you if you needed it yet a bit strict.
Worst professor ever met. No class, no video of lecture, he only provide slides with his voice. Tons of error in assignments and finals, and you will lose a lot of marks for his fault.
For online classes he only provides ppt with a voice over, nothing live. He doesn't seem to care about his students or their performance. Emailing him is useless because he will reply rudely and without care. I suggest reading the background papers to help understand calculations because he wont explain methods in details in the ppt.
Only provides ppt with audio and does not do a live session. Start working on the assignments as soon as you get them. Go to his office hours and use the background papers, they're helpful. Midterm 1 was easier than midterm 2. The final was really hard even though I worked a lot for it. Don't email him about grades / bell-curve, that's useless!
Lectures are very clear and organized. Not the most enthusiastic prof but good at explaining what is important. Tests and exams are exactly what he says they will be and are exactly like the practice ones he gives. Overall, he's good.
If you're taking this course online, he gives you all the lecture slides + audio recordings at the beginning of the semester and you pretty much self study the course at your own pace. If you can comfortably solve the practice questions that he gives you then it should be pretty easy to score 85+ on all his exams.
For online classes he only shares ppt with a voice over. He replies to mails rudely.
Rounded my final grade up. Claude's class is very transactional. He gives you answers in office hours. 2nd midterm onwards can be partially prepped in Excel if the course is online. Focus on the powerpoint reviews he posts. Known to make mistakes with questions, be vigilant. Assignments are doable, ask him for help.
Worst professor ever met. No class, no video of lecture, he only provide slides with his voice. doesnt care about studentsss..
*No lecture for online class *You learn everything by yourself. Imagine, you spend 1k on a course that you have to learn with online material Do not pick this course as an elective. It's as heavy as a compulsory course, and don't expect you could read and learn through the PPT he provides if you don't have any background knowledge.
I had this teacher on my first semester at Ottawa and honestly I could have teach myself the whole class. Rude respond when you email him, not able to tell you where to find a document that he told you to do , when you ask him question on something he answers you with another thing... only positive part : formative test that he provides you.
Claude Théoret is an amazing teacher! I highly recommend you to take him for ECO 1504. If you pay attention in class, DO THE PRACTICE QUESTIONS, buy and read Manskiw book and do as many exercices as you can, you should be able to get an A. I also recommend you to go to his DGD and ask questions for the TP since he often gives precisions on exams.
had to teach myself the slides since the audios are so slow. Speed them up 2x and youre good (asynchronous) .
ECO2510 - Literally the best econ teacher I've had so far. Provides practice exercises; show up to his office hours and all the questions will be answered in details.. also give you so many chances with his midterms & assignment to make up the grades.
Lectures are very fast, and his exams are difficult, but if you're good with excel you stand a chance. The faculty wanted our exams to be in person, closed book on scantron, but Claude fought with them and made them open book, online, and take home. He also made the 2nd project optional because he could. He really cares about his students' success.
Professor Theoret clearly cares about the success of his students. He gives a clear flexible grading criteria and will often give you questions for the exam/midterms beforehand. However, Claude isn't a very good lecturer. His lectures are very unorganized and hard to follow, making it difficult to learn anything. Use excel whenever you can.
Everything in the exams/assignments is covered in the lectures. He's pretty flexible when it comes to grading as well.
Great teacher! He always finishes his classes earlier so it's fun to have him. However, if you really want to understand the subject, you have to read the textbook. Attendance + textbook seem mandatory to me. Exams are all multiple choices, but they are tricky sometimes. Still a nice prof, go to his office hours and he will help you.
He's caring. He listens to students if we say that the exams were hard, he answers questions, he animates study meetings on weekends before exams. Really caring! He also gives bonus points. He even finishes class earlier. Some exams were really hard though.
The slides could be a bit messy. Honestly, the book helped me more.( a bonus you can downloaded it online) The tests and the exam on the ther hand are eaaaasssyyyyy; literally the same thing that he posts as practice tests. The professor is always available and ready to help; the lectures are recorded and posted plus he gives extra online sessions
This prof did not know how to run an online class. Occasionally straight up forgot to start the Zoom.
This is a very good ECON professor. Only advice is to show up to class, this is not a course in which you can skip sessions and learn on your own because there is a lot of material and he explains it very well.
Professor Theoret has a structured teaching style, though his lectures can be disorganized. The exams are challenging, but he's flexible on grading. Using tools like Unstuck study and Excel can help with the workload. Overall, the class is manageable with dedicated effort.
Prof. Théoret did a decent job of keeping 3 hour late night lectures interesting with some humour, but ultimately overcomplicated lectures way more than they needed to be. Most of the stuff in the slides is completely unnecessary for the midterm/exam, which were much easier. practice exams are almost identical to the real thing. those were great.
