He's a really good teacher. Pretty easy.. go to class, listen to him talk.. not much homework. A few research proojects, but not difficult. An interesting class.

easy class... more of a discussion than "lecture".. don't take if u don't like having to talk... otherwise no tests (but reports) and a weekly reading/response assignment.

This is an easy class if you show up, read the weekly readings, and like to discuss his topics. Overall not a very demanding class, but it is very informative.

i guess it's easy but i dont like the fact that its a discussion class (IT SAYS LECTURE DAMNIT) and hes strict on role. reports, but no final/midterm kinda regurgitating thing.

Claude is a good teacher. I got an A in his class and really learned from him. If you want to get an A make sure u do all the readings and partcipate. No midterm or final, cant get much better. I like his liberal viewpoints so i got along with him fine.

This is such an easy class. Professor Willey is an awesome professor. We have 7 reaction papers (1 a week), a 10 point mid term project, a 15 point final project, and no quizzes or tests. We watch movies and he usually lectures. Notes do not have to be taken since there are no exams.

He's very helpful and is willing to work with you if you have any questions or problems. You need to show up to class everyday and do the articles. There are 2 big projects due and through out the semester and you need to do them. Awesome teacher! Higly recomended!

He's a really cool guy. Never gets angry at the class. You have to write reaction papers every week but its 1 page and its not that hard. No tests or final but sometimes (rarely) gives quizzes. If you are going to take this class take him, he's awesome.

He's the best professor I have encounter. He is really interesting, and passionate about Urban Scene. He likes to get to know his students on a one-to-one basis. I took the 8am class and everyone showed up to class. Write 2 papers easy gives u choices for length. This class will make u reconsider changing ur major.Changes the way u live ur life.

Does not miss any class. He takes attendance, so come to class or your grade will drop. An easy A if you do all the work and he gives extra credit. 5 reaction papers, 2 book reviews, 1 project, and 2 quizzes. No final or midterm. I highly recommend you take this professor.

excell professor. Ive never personally met him cause I had an online class with him. he took over for my proff cause she couldnt finish the class. he only graded us on two three page papers and one other paper that we wrote for the other proff. he is very nice and helpful. very dedicated to his job and really really nice! highly recommended proff.

Excellent professor. He was very relaxed during winter session and made the class interesting. No tests, midterms, and final; just writing assignments. There are 4 reaction papers, 2 take home quizzes, and 2 projects. Put a lot of effort into those assignments and you should be able to get an A. Also be part of in class discussions, it helps a lot.

He was such a bomb teacher. The best thus far. Is lenient but lays out the syllabus at the beginning..getting an a is tough..a b is def doable..overall pretty chill class..challenging and fun

A friendly person. Although he has an unusual sense of humor, he enjoys what he teaches. He will try to remember your name by the second day of class. There was NO final, but he occasionally assigned a few term papers. There were 2 take-home quizzes that were assigned. Although I got a C, I would still recommend other students to take his class.

Great teacher. Very very easy A. He grades very easily. If you show that you put effort into your work than you get full credit. He loves hearing others opinions on the subjects he is presenting. He also chooses the least expensive text and puts his outside readings online so you only spend about $20 on books. Don't be a fool: Take him!

Mr.Willey is the best. Yes, his class tends to be boring, but he's so dedicated to teaching which makes his class worth going to. His is funny, caring, smart, and very helpful. Some of the assignments are time consuming but if you do everything and attend class you'll probably get an A or A- Make sure you put your best effort and take him.

Great teacher, no Mid-term and no Final.. He has you write 5 summaries and 2 reaction papers from the book and one final project at the end. He's pretty fair with his grading, as long as you participate in the class you should be good.

He doesnt take attendance yet there are pop quizes so its best if u come. Had a bus field trip. He is very nice and makes a joke out of everything. Had one of the best learning experiences in this class. He truly enriched my mind and he's absolutely hilarious. Participation is key and speaking while he's lecturing is not recommended. Take this class because I guarantee no other URBS150 class will be as fulfilling.

This professor was a lot of fun. Had a lot of energy and had a good sense of humor. At the end of the semester I realized Urban Studies wasn't for me but he made it pretty interesting. May seem to be a little strange but nevertheless, pretty cool. Assigned reading isn't completely mandatory but do it from time to time. do the work and you do fine

Really nice, funny, and truly knows and cares about what he's teaching. The class is easy, but you still learn a lot. There were 8 quizzes (based on the reading) and one project. No final. Participation is a big part of your grade, but the class is fun and I found myself wanting to participate and attend. I wish he had more classes to take.

I have been going to college all over the world for 4 years now and have never a better instructor than this man right here. If you have the opportunity of being in one of his classes and you don't take it you've just sold yourself sort on a great educational experience.

Took him for 310 and 350, had a great experience in both courses. Claude's very funny and knowledgeable in the subject, and always had a way to get everyone to connect with the class. Hard to do poorly in this class if you show up and complete the work. No midterm or final, drops lowest quiz score. Probably one of the better professors at CSUN.

Claude is the best!! He is an extremely funny, knowledgeable & flexible professor. I had a specific request during the semester & he granted it w/o a second's hesitation. Just turn up to class, do the quizzes, group project, final paper & you will do fine. He makes class very entertaining & you will be very engaged in the subject. Cheek by jowl!!!

Entire grade based on pop quizzes and participation, so make sure you show up or you will miss the (weekly) quizzes. They are very easy if you read, but reading is mandatory in order to get the right answer, unlike other quizzes where I just skim the text. Alot of extra credit opportunities.

Took him and learned so much about urban studies. That class was structured to learn each continent and its urban history, and urban philosophy and evolution. Would take again. Class is worth it. You get what you put into it.

Claude is an absolutely fabulous teacher. His class is well structured, interesting, and he's a funny guy. The subject and his way of teaching really made me become more interested in foreign policy and the way other country's cities are developed. I'm a Film Production major and I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Would definitely take again.

Claude is definitely one of a kind professor. He is awesome! The class is based on participation, so it is mandatory. There are pop quizzes,but he lets you use your notes. No midterm or final. Only one journal article and group presentation. Overall the class was a breeze. If you aren't going to read, then don't take his class it isn't for you.

Very chill and down to earth, arguably one of the best professors I've ever had. He's really funny, but has a tad bit of dark humor, which I'm not a fan of. The course was very interesting, and he will make you earn that A. There's also no textbook, which sucks cause is actually left wanting to read more about the cities covered.

Really nice guy, If you ask for clarification on something he is more than happy to help. No final or midterm, class is based on 1 group presentation, 1 journal article review, and about 7 pop quizzes. Make sure to always read the chapter for that week, take good notes (paper notes can be used for pop quizzes) and you will do fine.

He's freaking awesome! You always know what your grade is because all you have to do is add up how many points you earn. There's no midterm or final, only some pop quizzes, 1 journal article review, and a group presentation. He offers a lot of extra credit and lets you use any notes that you've taken. One of the funniest professors I will probably ever have. EASY class as long as you READ THE TEXTBOOK because of the pop quizzes (we only had about 5 or 6). You'll always know your grade because all you do is add up your point total. There is one journal review paper, but it was only about 4 pages long. Easiest A ever.

Amazing Professor, the topic is very interesting and the way he teaches and presents materials makes it easy to learn. You do have to do some writing, however he is easy and wants you to succeeded and to understand the work, so he will help you along! Gets you thinking about community and your city as a place and space!

One of the best teachers I had by far. He is caring and wants to give everyone a good grade.

It's a 100 pt class (20 pts for essays, 20 pts for media responses, 50 pts for quizzes, 10 pts for a paper). A lot of reading in this class that you do weekly to help you with the essay and quizzes. Media response- you watch 4 vids and write about them. 10 pt paper, you review a journal article. He rlly makes an effort to help you.

1-3 assignments/week (typically a response to an article/the book/YouTube vid and b/w 300-500 words). That being said, you REALLY have to read and give a thoughtful response or he'll deduct points. Quick to respond to emails, class isn't hard you just have to read.

He is a tough grader and expects good quality of work. I took his online class and that consisted of weekly tests, small essays, media responses, and something similar to a research paper. The only great thing about his online class is that there is NO FINAL! This class can be easy if you are willing to read and put the effort in the work.

He's a cool professor, you need to read the chapters. Every quiz is open note, but you don't know when the quizzes will be so take notes each week. A few presentation projects, but not so bad.

Quite an easy A, five pop quizzes, but you'll be ready if you do the assigned reading. Attendance matters and if you participate in class, he'll get your name down right away! He also gives clear instructions, so it makes the work all the more easy! He keeps it interesting, I would take again!

One of the best professors and class there. I wish i could retake this class for more credit with him. Easy A, a few pop quizzes but really not a big deal. One project (powerpoint) that requires a sort of transportation, but very easy. He's a really cool dude too, gives off a hippy vibe, but nonetheless , awesome.

Professor Claude's lectures were based on the readings assigned before class. There were a couple of pop quizzes throughout the semester but you were allowed to use your notes. He also answered questions before the pop quizzes, which really reinforced the material on the quiz. One group project, one individual project & one paper! Fun & easy class!

Amazing professor! The course is easy to follow along if you do the weekly readings, but make sure to take notes because pop quizzes are truly "pop" in this class. There is a group and solo presentation, but nothing to worry about as Claude makes it clear as to what he wants and will be lenient if he sees that you made an honest attempt.

LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT, YOU MUST READ there are pop quizzes that can get you off guard. Funny professor bring him pizza, hes also very chill and caring about students and available before and after class. The class consists of 5 pop quizzes, just a few discussion questions, Group project, NO FINAL. You just need one book and its less than $30.

This professor was very cool and made lectures Fun. I did need the book because he requires readings and watching films almost every week. There is no Final for this class and he offers a good amount of extra credit. Very easy class and would recommend people to TAKE HIS CLASS.

Just show up and pay attention what hes talking about because you will take in-class quiz. For the quizzes, all the answers are from the etextbooks and the films. So make sure to read it and watch the film before taking quizzes. Theres a project, extra credit project, and participation is worth 20% toward to your grade. Get 2pts per 3 weeks.

He was whatever, he is cool and whatnot but he began to accuse a lot of people of cheating via Discord and Groupme, and he will not back down from his baseless accusations. He was easy and promised he would round our grades up but he did not for me because I defended myself with his cheating accusations. Wtv

Currently, he is one of my favorite professors. You actually learn a lot about cities in a fun way. He's lectures are never boring and his assignments are quite easy to do, even the 1000-word essays.

The first teacher I had in college! Super low-stress and made my transition stress free from HS. With the mix of dad jokes, interesting documentaries, and "to the point assignments" he's an Ideal Prof. Assignments were interesting. Fast and easy Grader. Extra credit available. Understanding, funny, genuine.

If you are someone taking this course as an upper division requirement I'd say its a good choice. To get an A... you need to show up every meeting participate every class meeting carefully read and write about his usually 20 pg weekly reading assignments do your best on the mini research assignments

Really fun lecturer! Lots of dad jokes, good at getting the class to talk. The weekly quizzes are easy, the assignments are interesting, overall one of my favorite classes I've taken. Plenty of extra credit, and no final! (I ended with a 106.)

Professor Claude! Taking his course was the best decision I could have made! His enthusiasm and passion for the city and urban planning is so inspiring and thought provoking. There are weekly readings and quizzes but they are fairly easy to take. Tons of extra credit (Passed with a 117%). His dad jokes and personality are so comforting. Take him!

Grade consists of discussions based on weekly readings, participation during lectures, and the 2 research papers. As long as you skim through the readings, participate a few times, and do okay on the papers, you'll get a decent grade. He was also very chill and funny, made my day every time.

Best prof ever! interesting class and very funny and understanding. Offers so much EC that I am finishing with a 125%. No final, 2 projects and the first one is very easy, second one is an essay but he gives lots of time. Grades really fast and gives good feedback. Only a discussion and a quiz every week but its all doable. Great!

It was mainly simple lectures during the class no assignments, i recommend participating for extra points also raises your grade a lot, only homework were discussions and respond to two others and little quizzes every week all online. also offer extra credit in class quizzes and little 1-5 question quizzes. Super easy to pass

Professor Willey is flat out amazing. He's great at what he does and you can tell he cares about the material he teaches. You have 2 big assignments (which are both easy), weekly discussions and quizzes. Participation is a big part of your grade so I recommend raising your hand at least once per class. Also offers a ton of extra credit. 10/10

Claude is an awesome and caring professor! I ended with 120% because of the endless amounts of extra credit he gives! Such an easy class with nice lectures. The only thing is that there are weekly discussions and readings (only 1 discussion and 1 chapter to read which is approximately 20-30 pages), but are totally doable and actually informative.

Professor Claude is hands down, the best professor I have had at CSUN so far. He is very funny and makes lectures fun with his teaching style and personality. I highly recommend this course to anyone needing to fill out a GE or just needing extra credits. You wont regret taking this course.

This course was pretty straightforward, meetings on zoom, weekly quizzes, and monthly essays. The essays were not that hard and were based on the textbook which you can find online, don't buy it. Professor Claude made sure to make the meetings fun with his personality as well as giving a lot of feedback on assignments. 11/10 class.

Professor Willey's course was very light on work and very open to differing opinions. His homework was mainly opinion and personal based rather than course reading based. The amount of extra credit given in his class easily allows anyone to receive a high grade.

He was everyone's favorite professor. Not only would I highly recommend even if you aren't considering his course, but I would definitely take him again. JUST DO IT!!!

Took his course online, it was very easy. He is very funny. And everyone loved him. Could not recommend this professor more. I would 100% take again.

I took his class online. The work is relatively easy if you pay attention, and there are many extra credit opportunities. I would recommend his class.

If you fail Claude's class, you REALLY messed up because there's no way you should. Claude is such a smart and caring professor that makes every lecture feel like a Youtube video in the best way possible. You'll laugh, you'll sing, and have a great time in his class. Don't stress and just open your mind to learning about what he teaches.

Much more writing than his 150 course, but I didn't mind the once every three week-essays. Even on zoom, he made his classes informative and fun to follow along with, and take advantage of his extra credit opportunities. Again, as I said before, if you fail his class, that is COMPLETELY YOUR FAULT he makes his classes hard to fail.

Claude runs a really fun class. Interesting lectures, some reading, and the assignments are pretty easy to do. I'd take him again for sure.

Took him this semester and it was a great experience for my first semester at CSUN. He's very helpful and patient with all of us. Would take him again in a heartbeat. Thanks for all you do, Claude!

Very good professor. Funny and engaging. Knows what he's talking about and makes thing easy to understand. You need to participate to do well. And read the book! Would take him again. Highly recommended!!!

A very straightforward course. I knew what I had to do from day one. The professor made things fun and I learned a great deal about urban planning. Would take him again!

Super fun class. Learned a lot about the city and urban development. Made me think about things in totally new ways. Loved Claude and his upbeat personality. Would take him again if I could. Maybe for another URBS course.

Very chill and ECCENTRIC(likes to talk in a good way) professor. This man gave 40% worth of extra credit. Very easy to get an A, BUT be ready to at least skim over your textbook(can be pirated) since all of his tests and quizzes are based on it. Wants you to go outside for actual projects so be ready to go to places in person.
