great teacher for online class!

She is a great professor. She really wants you to understand the material so she does whatever she can to make sure you learn. She is great. Directions and expectations were laid out at the beginning of semester and she did not change it all. Offered extra credit as well. TAKE HER!!

Very good teacher. I took her class on line. The class consists of weekly discussions and 2 tests thru out the course. Not to mention u have unlimited tries to retake the tests to receive a better grade. I got an A! Highly recommend this class.

Dr. T is a Awesome professor! I took her course online and it was great! 4 discussions, 2 test and the final that's it (Test and final open book and unlimited attemps). Also, she has these Wimba sessions that are for extra credit that are alot of fun! Take her you won't regret it!

Dr. Tolson is an excellent professor. Her class is clearly spelled out for you and easy to understand. You have 4 Discussions, 2 exams and then a 3rd one that is 80 pts combined with a GPC exam that makes up the other 20 points. All exams are unlimited attempts (except GPC). I believe I've made an "A". Show respect to classmates and participate!

I am taking Dr. Tolson for the summer semester and she has been an excellent online professor. She is responsive to emails and very organized. Do all the readings and the class is easy. I would recommend to students to take 2112 because it is much more current history than 2111, so it's more interesting and easier.

If you want in her class, you better jump on it. Her classes fill up fast. She is a great professor. Take her because all of the comments are true. She's very organized and you know exactly what to expect.

Dr. Tolson is a good, informative teacher. Took her class online and it was super laid back. Unlimited attempts on her tests so getting an A should not be too difficult. Just read and you will be able to blow through the exams. She is awesome.

wonderful pofessor, the wimba sessions are a plus too. You will not regret it. Had her for the summer and was happy the way she arranged such a long class in a simple and easy format.

So I read all these before signing up to take the class and I must say you should be warned about the long discussion posts. Like an essay every week. But that is my only complaint with her. She answers emails quickly and quizzes are SUPER EASY!!!!!!!

16 quizzes(5 questions, 10 minutes). Exams,50 questions, 100 minutes (cannot revisite questions once you skip). Pretty heavy workload and the discussion questions are essays and very involved. You have to read every other student's original post and ALL responses (can be 120 or more) to get full credit. SAVE THE HEADACHE ... Not WORTH THE TROUBLE.

read 1 chapter weekly, find the key terms meaning (they're the quiz(5quest) and the exam) post 1 discussion and answer to 2 students she tells u exactly what to do just follow her. answer e-mail in no time, give her cell #, u can till 11:00pm on test day. english is not my 1st language, I'm doing well in the class. lot of extra credit, go for it.

Dr. T is awesome!Very helpful and understanding. Always available to contact up until midnight sometimes and make sure you attend her Wimba classes (15-21 extra credit points) you learn great information. EASY A!!!... just make sure you read ALL the posts on the discussion boards in order to max out your discussion board grades.

Dr. Tolson is a great instructor. I took her online Fall 2011. You do have 1 quiz every week but if you go over the chapter you should pass the quiz. She always answer her phone and respond to emails. Her class is what you make it. She was a great online instructor and I would take her again.

Class is organized,just follow the syllabus. There is no extra credit but attend the 3 Wimba classes you receive 15-21 extra points,that is extra credit! On discussion boards you don't have to write a lot just write about what is required and read all the posts= A grade. Quizez= search index -> Tests = Quizez...Do the math = A (final) grade.

I found Dr. Tolson to be very knowledgeable and willing to share that with her students. There is significant work you should do each week in preparation for the discussion posts.Plan on spending 7-10 hours per week to do all the work. Very enjoyable class.

online Class was well organized and information well communicated throughout the sem'. Dr. Tolson is very responsive and available to help more than the average instructor. She is very fair and reasonable in terms of grades, schedule, etc. Discussions are very important – read them all and use approved external resources in addition to textbook.

I must say I was not looking forward to taking this class as history was a subject I had never had much interest. I really enjoyed this class and thought Dr. Tolson was a great professor. If you study what she tells you to study, you will do great. I learned a lot from Dr. Tolson, when I really didn't expect to learn much.

I took her on-line honors class, the discussion posts are rediculously detailed. The quizzes and tests are a piece of cake. Just read your chapters and you will be fine. Doesn't grade real quick and there is a group project - that sucked but only worth 4% of your grade. She was really nice when she communicated.

I absolutely LOVED the class! Dr. Tolson is extremely helpful and gives the class "Self-Assessmets" before each Quiz and plenty of time to complete your homework. You do have to work for it - but there is absolutely NO Reason not to get an "A" in this class. Follow the Study Guides and Key Terms as suggested, & you will do wonderful! Thanks Dr. T!

Dr. T is awesome!! Read the book, watch the videos and do the quizes and discussions and you will do fine. She is not a hard grader but she does expect you to follow directions. Quiz and test are easy as long as you read the book and all you have to do to score high on discussions is follow the example she provides. This class should be an Easy A!!

Amazing professor. Truly cares about students, understanding, kind, and sweet. I took it online and there are 3 tests. Only bad thing is she made test 2 and 3 one week apart instead of having test 2 in the middle of the course so 40% of the grade is in the last 2 weeks. :( But otherwise...I LOVE DR. TOLSON!!!!! I wish I could meet her in real life!

Dr. Tolson always gave us chances to complete our assignment. She's very generous. I know my discussion post and asignments never were perfect(not even close to perfect), but she's always given me very high score. I think she respects students' efforts. There are all MC questions on test. Just take her, you will love this class

Dr. T was reasonable and did not require excessive assignments weekly. Still her on-line class was full of information and discussions were very interesting. I really enjoyed it. She wants good quality work but that will produce better students. I highly recommend her class.

This course is excellent. I studied a lot in the African society. I recommend people to take it because it can help you to know better the ancient cultures and civilizations. Plus, my teacher was so great. She always explained us clearly with some examples.

Dr. Tolson is a great professor. Don't listen to the negative reviews. She literally outlines the whole course and tells you what she expects. It's not hard at all and if you follow these simple instructions and do your readings you should get an A. I am not a huge history buff but still got an A. Great teacher and easy class.

In my humble opinion Dr. T is a really good professor. This is college and she expects students to able to exercise mature critical thinking skills to successfully pass this course. Are you looking for a great professor? You don't have to look no further. Dr. Tolson is a professor that teaches with passion. She cares about her students. If you email her, she will respond in a timely manner. She doesn't overload her students with homework. She gives her students a week to finish their homework. I learned a lot in her class.

Informational, fun, and easy. As long as you read the articles for the discussions and have your book in front of you for your quizzes and tests, you'll get an A. Take the Self assessments (which don't count towards your grade) before your quizzes and you'll do fine because they have most of the same questions.

Very clear in grading in expectation. Homework is tough yet fair and she helps with any questions. Willing to work with you and gives clear feedback. It was a pleasure to have her as a professor and is the best professor I have had a Georgia Perimeter so far.

This was an awesome class. Dr. Tolson opened my eyes to African History in a way that I could not even image. The discussions, the book were so informative, educational and just plain old interesting. I learned so much and if I could, I would take it all over again. It was so much to learn in such a short time. Loved this class!

She is very clear about the grade and feedback , and she gives an extra for join to the Blackboard discussion. I always call her when I have any concerns and she is respond really quick within a day by text message or phone call. Feel free to contact with her through her number.

shes not here to make life hard, easy work load, a lot of work but it can get done, once assignments open complete them, answers emails ,txt, and returns phone calls in a timely manner. Very understanding willing to work with you, and helpful as long as she sees you've been working. work hard on discussion boards its the hardest part of the class.

I found this class to be really easy but a person who does not like to write may find it difficult. Class is basically all writing assignments including mid-term and final with 5 discussion post.

Dr. Tolson provides the necessary reading for the class. All assignments are typed responses and papers. For the most part, the papers are a walk in the park, however, I did receive a low grade on one portion but she allowed me to try again and gave me an A for the revision. There are 1-2 extra credit opportunities due at the end of the course.

Yes, this class is all papers and discussion posts, but honestly I didn't mind that at all. There is not 1 best way to learn history. I enjoyed reading all of my classmates' discussion posts and thoughts on historical events. I missed an assignment and she was very understanding and let me retake it. Very caring professor that I would retake!

If you are a high school student looking for a good US history teacher for dual enrollment, trust me this class was so easy and I ended with a 103% in the class! That's how much easy extra credit she gives out and you have to spend 2 hours maximum every week maximum for her mini semester class.

It was an easy class. There were many extra credits, but I never needed them because her tests were easy. There were two essay assignments, one for the midterm and the other for the final exam. The final exam was lengthy (~15 pages), but the content was easy; stay ahead, friends! You got this! She also grades pretty slowly..
