not the easiest teacher. demands you speak spanish, but isn't that the best way to learn it? don't take her if you're looking to sit in the back and do nothing. take her if you want to learn though (what schools are for).

I did not care about Spanish before this class- Ms. Acosta is a hard instructor but she cares about her students. She makes Spanish fun and interesting. I now want to major in Spanish.She is a little bit crazy but she is good!

She is an amazing teacher, but you need to be a mature student. This is not a class for kids comming right out of High School, or moms going back to school. She makes class fun, but there is a lot of work. It is a 4 unit class for a reason. I learned alot in this class, but it was easy to get behind

Professor Acosta is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my entire life. Anyone who has given her a bad rating has done so because they have failed her class due to negligence on their part. If you want to learn Spanish and have fun, take Spanish with Ms. Acosta!!

shes an awesome teacher...even tho i speak spanish and got an A in the class, she still makes class fun and a little different..i came right out of H.S. into this class..i felt like i was in 12th grade again...her tests r SO EASY! its insane how easy they are..TAKE HER!! SHES AWESOME!!!

her classes demand a lot from the student. you won't be able to shuffle along in the class if you don't keep up with the work. she is very understanding but also strict in her ways. a bit scattered delivery but nonetheless effective.

She makes the class fun and interesting. She has a lot of energy and latin flavor. Makes you feel comfortable and at ease. You can't be shy. She encourages you to speak up and at least make an effort.

I was not interested in Spanish before this class. I like this class because I am learning Spanish. She is strict and speaks only Spanish in class. Do not bring a dictionary, it is no good. She cares about the students. I like her!

OMG I ****ING LOVED ACOSTA!! i had her last year first semester... she kicks butt! and so did her T.A. renato.. haha he was a cool dude!

She is probably the best teacher I ever had. She's helpful,sincere and truly cares about her job and her students. She may have seemed chaotic but she was sick this semester but still did her best to help the students.

The only reason why I found her extremely easy is because I had three years of spanish in high school. Everything was a review and the students hated me for that. But she doesn't tell the students when the assigments are due and everybody is just looost. W/o T.A. your screwed. She's nice and explains material pretty well.

Class is extremely easy. Her teaching method is different and her grading is extremely easy.

I LOVE THIS WOMEN TO DEATH! shes an inspiration to me. Our entire class fell in love with her. Shes amazing and so is her moma! She treats the classroom students as if they were her own children...

This professor was a dream! she was so helpful and nice and she was such a sweetheart. If you don't get something she will try her hardest to get you to understand. I am sad that she isnt teaching my next spanish class but i will definitely keep in touch. she keeps a great relationship with all her students

Claudia is an awesome teacher. She is an amazing person and is willing to do whatever it is she needs to do to make you succeed. She is understanding and will work with you. Summer School is much more relaxed it seems and she was lenient with being late of missing a day or two. If you want to take Spanish take her.

Great teacher! I never had so much fun coming to any class much less spanish, but i can honestly say i love this teacher!!!! Homework is a little hard but as long as you do it you should have no trouble understanding what is going on in the class!!

I loved this teacher, she is funny and really nice. Her lectures were easy to follow.I even took a short term class and each lecture was 4 hours long. She is super helpful and doesn't expect you to be a genius. I would take over again. She is also laid back and makes the whole class feel comfortable.

Very easy to understand. Very outgoing and understanding. Her classes are very interesting. Grading on curve system. Loved her class a lot!!!

She grades on a generous curve and really wants to pass every student. Though her class lacked structure, the online quizzes helped to keep people on track. There is EC. Midterm and final are oral, multiple choice, and written (essay). She assigns a lot of work, but only counts what will help your grade.

She is a great teacher. What everyone is saying is true. She really will work with you if she sees that you put in the work and effort. She really wants people to succeed. She made the class fun and interactive. I actually got to know my classmates! And this was in a 4 hour a day class for 3 days a week. I would highly recommend her! :)

Took the short term class. Excellent professor. Loves the language and loves to teach it. Exposes you to the culture too. Highly recommended.

Professor Acosta is an outstanding teacher. She is passionate about her job, compassionate towards the world and her students, energetic and very motivational. It is rare to come across a teacher as wonderful as Professor Acosta. I looked forward to class each day and it was 15 hours each week over summer break. Hope to have her again!!

Good teacher. Helpful, caring to students, and grades fairly. The class is very verbal, so expect being called on and lots of group work. The labs can be a drag, but it's nothing to cry about. Do all the work and you'll be fine!

This teacher changed my life!She made me believe that I can do good in school and get good grades. Her way of teaching spanish is thru submerssion and conversation...but I promise you will learn more than you think.Your brain is absorbing it. This professor was really funny and helpful when it came down to the lessons. She did only speak spanish so if you don't understand the basics then this class might not be for you. But i can say her only speaking spanish was very helpful and i passed with a B. Easy Final

A great teacher who wont let you fail if you try ( I got an A)!Literally there was a couple of my friends in the class who could barely understand and speak and they got a C and B on the oral final. You wont get an easy A but you will definitely pass if you show up try

Mrs. Acosta is extremely passionate and friendly. Her enthusiasm and energy provides for a great learning experience. The people saying on here that you "don't learn" are probably those who had to desire to try learning the language and actually do the work. That is expected in any class! Mrs. Acosta is a great teacher.

Definitely one of the best teachers that I've ever had in my life. If you do not know Spanish, the class will definitely seem intimidating at first. I nearly wanted to drop the class because I though I'd fail. But Mrs. Acosta is an amazing teacher and if you try you will definitely succeed. I ended up with an A and I 100% recommend her for Spanish.

She was a pretty good teacher. She truly cares about your success in her class, and will help you when needed. However, assignments were made unclear, and I feel she could have gone over more of the material, than just showing projects.

I learned Spanish rapidly by taking her class because she enjoys discussing/speaking a lot. Educated, intellectual, and passionate. Very personable, I plan to take her again! She gives the education system a good name.

She is an awesome professor! I'm not a native speaker so the class was hard but she was there to help every step of the way. Her class is entertaining and every member of the class becomes well acquainted with one another, as a lot of the exercises are group oriented. That frightened me at first, however I made many friends whom I still talk to.

Great class and love the online format, however be ready to have a ton of work thrown at you. There are at least 20 exercises due every week on varying days, discussion boards every week and tests/quizzes that she doesn't open up until the weekends. So basically, be prepared to work 7 days a week on this class. However it's an easy A if you study.

Acosta is great teacher! She really cares about her students and she makes the class very interesting. I would definitely recommend her! I had so much fun in her class just make sure to finish your homework on time and pay attention in class.

Spanish is so hard for me. Period end of story. This class was miserable for me. I had to take it no choice she was always available and I felt like she was always available via email and so helpful. She will really go out of her way to accommodate you. I took the class online she gives you an unbelievable amount of recourses.

This class was a hybrid-had class every other week. Each week you have a module with assignments to complete. Some of the readings are difficult but overall easy. Do the assignments, read, participate in the class and there's one group project too. We had 2 separate classes at Starbucks which was really fun.

The short-term class is a bit overwhelming due to the number of exercises, quizzes and tests on MindTap but the key is time management. You should not stress over the 2 orals as they are fairly easy if you review the study guide. You are proctored during the final written exam. Overall, she is very sweet once you meet her and gives great feedback.

Wonderful, caring and very knowledgeable. I wish I hadn't taken it as a short term/hybrid class - in class would have been much better - super interesting. Lots of info in such a short time and I work FT but still did well b/c I used her info & attended outside class meeting sessions

She is one of the sweetest, most caring professors I have met! Coming from someone who had NO Spanish experience, it was very difficult to balance this course in summer. The workload was heavy and it was hard to keep up wit the 80 assignments on mind tap weekly. However, she did EVERYTHING in her power to help my grade!

Dr. Acosta is a very good and caring teacher, students really learn and appreciate the Latin American cultures in her class. She is motivator and encouraged students to participate.

Weekly MindTap assignments, canvas discussions, 1 1/2 hour meetings, tests, quizzes, oral exams, she speaks in all spanish. Nice teacher.

The class has many assignments but they're all doable and can be made up. Very understanding and will be flexible for you. Tests aren't particularly difficult but do take some thought. The class is also 100% in spanish so be ready to be using spanish at all times. I can still say she's one of the best spanish professors.

Dr. Acosta is an amazing professor and she made SPAN 201, 202, and 240 very enjoyable. Grammar and vocab are handled through MindTap, while homework and class activities revolve around short stories, poetry, and film. Everything we were assigned was interesting and fun. Flexible deadlines, and projects can be completed individually or in groups.

Her classes are not super difficult & she really wants to see her students succeed. I love that she always has lots of resources posted on Canvas and will happily meet with you outside of class to help you. She uses MindTap for a lot of the work, but she also assigns things in Canvas based on articles, videos, diaries, and more. Recommended!

Professor Acosta is a pretty good professor and is not a very harsh grader either. But it is true that if you are taking this class and are not well versed in the Spanish language, then you may have a hard time.There are 2 orals, and you are required to work on a chapter (activities) each week on Mindtap + other additional assignments in Canvas.
