Nicest and smartest teacher in a chemistry course ever. Makes chemistry fun for all those non-science majors so you can pass on and get with your major. Great if you only need to get the GE credits!

She took me in as a refugee from Dr. Thomas' class. What an awesome teacher, great human being, and brilliant woman. I learned a ton and she made it a great experience. I wish she taught 2B. Study hard and ask questions. I got an A, so can you.

Very easy classes. If you're looking to boost up your gpa, take her courses. Chem 10 was totally easy and fun. She explains things well and tests and quizzes are based on notes-no need to buy the book. Very cool professor and helpful. I usually HATE science, but she makes it easy.

THE absolute best professor I've ever had! Essays are very important to her, so don't take advantage of her b/c she is easy..just do the work-it's simple... put some thought into it. Dr. Barner is the E-Zest chem teacher ever! her words on the 1st day: "U will have 2 try extra hard NOT 2 pass my class!" excellent at teaching info! class is based on 12 short essays (20pts each), midterm&final (100pts each), & a research project. if u turn in essays, u get 20pts automatically

Good professor, who knows how to appeal to her students. There is kind of a lot of reading in this class, and you have to keep up with posts in order to get participation points, otherwise you won't do so well. Other than that, it's a fairly easy class.

Good teacher and an interesting class. Make sure you complete all the assignments on time and post comments! No tests, but a lot of reading & writing – the material is interesting, though, so it’s not too difficult. Not enough feedback on completed assignments, but I would recommend taking this class.

Her lectures are always interesting and fun. I learned a lot in this class and found it to be very entertaining. This class is not like a typical chemistry course. This course is based on essays regarding interesting topics, and not based so much on tests.

Make sure you check every grade she gives you for accuracy because she is very disorganized and tends to make mistakes due to the huge number students in her class.

she is the coolest teacher wou will ever meet. she is very helpful with school work and just general issues you may have. i have had her for 2 classes and i would have her for every class if i could! she once asked the whole class if they had a place to go on thanksgiving and whoever doesnt can come to her house for dinner. her chemistry class truely changed the way i see many things in life. its about how chemistry effects r everyday life. its very interesting! take her class if u know want to learn!

AMAZING teacher. Her class is unlike any other I've had. She has so many cool stories and lectures and every class is simply awesome. You'll learn a lot from her, but not necessarily about the minute details of Chemistry. The class lives up to its name (Chem & the Environ.) and she's always trying to show you the big picture. Try it and see!

I took her summer online class. Its a lot to keep up with because on average there are 2-3 papers due per week and you have to create a home page. She replied pretty quickly when we would ask her questions via e-mail or message board. The class was not difficult as long as you turn in your work, and you turn it in on time.

Awesome teacher great for both Chem majors and non-majors (mostly for non-majors) Interesting, to the point, great stories. She has simple essays you write based purely on your own opinion and experience. Just don't frickin wait to the last minute and you won't break a sweat. You also learn how crappy our world is. A very pleasant personality.

she is a very sweet person and also fun and extremely open minded. i took her online class and it was great! she has fun and interesting assignments. she replies to emails quite fast. participation and creativity are key, so if you are just used to memorizing math formulas, you are doomed! otherwise, she is the best! enjoy :]

Professor Barner's chem10a class is really easy. You'll have to write alot of paper for this class, but as long as you do all the assignments and meet the page criteria, you'll get an A. Easy!

If you are not a math or scien major, but want/need to take a science class, take Barner. She is very nice and her lectures are not boring. She also is willing to help you with any questions.. She is funny and very endearing

This prof makes everything interesting and relevant to your daily life. Unlike what someone said here, she is ANEVER moody, actually she always smiles and makes jokes. She isn't the easiest but she is the best.

A truly amazing woman! So smart, eloquent and interesting. I loved this class and I came into it dreading Chem. She's a wonderful soul that taught me a lot. Her class is medium in difficulty and kinda piles up on you at times, but it's well worth it & informative. I definitely recommend her!

I agree for a fact that the class is overall easy, but I'm not to fond of her. Personally, i think she has her favorites. She gets all moody when i try to asked her a question. Geez...her attitude reminds me of my history teacher back in high school.

This class is not as easy as some say - there is actually quite a lot of writing! be careful - she REALLY DOES READ ALL THE ESSAYS! TWO people I know just got kicked out for cheating - they turned in identical essays and even though they were in different sections, she caught it! She is super smart!

Her teaching style is great. There is an essay assignment due every week but they are easy (unless you are an ESL student then they may be hard). Learned so much from this class that i will continue to use in the future. Not your typical chem class... The Final was ridiculously easy!

Took the online class in Spring 08. 'Participation' grade weighs heavily but it is justified. If the students suck and are barely posting, you will have a difficult time with that part of the grade. Still, there's no excuse for cheating because she's a very understanding instructor and will do her best for you to earn the grade you deserve.

She is a wonderful teacher, who genuinely knows her subject matter-very vocal about her opinions, but does not discriminate if you disagree (as i did :). Very fair, honest, and unbiased grader. She made chemistry interesting. Essays due every week - but they're not difficult (30minutes each?). Just show up to class and listen, you'll do great!

I will miss her. This was my second semester with her. She is always so enthusiastic in class. Quizzes and the final is super easy!

U dont need to purchase a book since all powerpoints are online =). If u hate chemistry this is the teacher to take. She makes everything seem so easy! ur labs are graded if u turn it in they dont have to b correct. u have quiz once a week. like 4 test. The labs are not that hard neither. A little background of myself: I'm a USC spring admit taking transferable courses here for fall sem. Work: Essays and online quizzes every week. No midterm, no term paper. Just one easy project and an even easier final. I learned so many useful things in this class. The professor is very patient and answers all questions. Do the work, EASY A.
