this class is pretty easy if you go to class and study. you have a quiz every week. i would recommend her for lab.
This instructor is very difficult if you have any problems understanding the material. There is no extra assignments to help with test grades.
Cash was a difficult teacher for bio lab. Never smiles and her sense of humor is awful. She talks extremely way too fast. It's almost impossible to take notes because of her speed. In addition, she makes you feel like an idiot when you ask questions in class. I had to transfer to Dr. Tu Huynh, great professor! I recommended her! *****
Shes smart and knows what shes doing
I decided to take Cash for lab despite the bad comments...I'm glad I did. I'm still in the class now but have no doubt that I will come out with an A. There's a quiz every week so you have to show every week (does drop the lowest grade). Is pretty upbeat, smiles/laughs, answers questions, and is clear. Don't know why she got such bad ratings :(
Took Mrs. Cash my first year at tcc for my biology class, shes a good teacher but sometimes a bit boring her test can be hard if you dont study and she never gave us a review so you had to try and figure out what was on the tests. Shes nice and will help you if you need be sure you study your notes though
only had her for lab, she talks super fast, very funny lady. make sure you turn off your cell phone during tests, she will take your test up!!
Mrs. Cash is a very entertaining teacher, she likes to throw out a dirty joke every once in a while. She is very intelligent and can identify with us because she has kids. It is a very hard class though because are only grades are the test grades and they're usually hard unless you study ALOT. She lets you use a note card on tests though.
Prof. Cash is probably the best science teacher I have ever come across! Her tests are easy because they follow the notes exactly. But in order to pass her class, you kind of have to show up.
I really like Mrs. Cash. She reminds me of little house on the praire, but she is really funny. Love going to her class. Her tests are not bad as long as you study the outline notes (given by her) and make your note card with "HANDWRITTEN, HANDWRITTEN, HANDWRITTEN notes" but make sure it is a 3x5 or she'll cut it with her "scissors of doom"
She is an amazing teacher who seems to know everything about biology. She rarely uses the book in class and usually has her own visual aids that are more useful. If you attend her class you will only need to look over things before the test. I would highly recommend taking her lab as well. I didnt the first semester but the second was much better.
GREAT teacher!!! She really loves what she teaches and loves her students. You have to go to class to understand difficult material. She uses a power point which you should take notes off of because she gets her test questions off of it. Take her for lab too!!!
Prof. Cash is a good teacher. She is definitely passionate about Biology. So much so that she is difficult for non-Biology majors. Her tests are not dedicated to her lecture outline. She rearranges questions a way to throw you off a bit. She wants you to think critically and understand most concepts thoroughly. She needs to teach majors only.
I took her for BIOL 1408 lab. That was a mistake! She is very rude and insulting. You can't understand half of what she's saying. She thinks she's funny. I agree with whomever said she should be teaching BIOL 1406 for majors, she's too difficult for non-majors.
I LOVE PROFESSOR CASH! She is a fabulous teacher! I have never had a teacher so passionate about biology and very intelligent. She is kind of wacky, cute, and reminds me of Miss Frizzle off of the magic school bus!You can easily pass her class with an A if you study HER notes and review sheet. After her class I have now decided to major in biology!
Lecture: GREAT teacher!!! Explains things to the best of her ability "The dumber the demo the harder the concept." 4 tests & Final... NO makeup test BUT final can replace ONE test grade. VERY well organized!!! Great notes. VERY comprehensive tests...know the material. 3x5" handwritten notecard...wrote notes word for word, didn't study, got an A.
Ms. Cash is a fantastic teacher. Her amusing lectures are not to be missed because you will miss out on her wacky sense of humor (but you don't HAVE to attend except for test days). I wish I would have had her for 1408. I did not even open my book and gave very little study time with her allowing the 3X5 note card still made an A.
Mrs. Cash is an awesome teacher. I hate biology, & I still do, but she makes the lecture entertaining. She allows a 3x5 index card for her exams, which help tremendously. She is ready & willing to help with anything you don't understand. Highly recommend her.
Mrs. Cash is a no nonsense kind of teacher. She loves biology and expects you to. She's a test only teacher. Take notes and read the book. She can be entertaining so the material isn't completely dry, but if you're looking for easy then keep looking. She's a nice lady but lectures to the last day. No review in class.
TOOK THE CLASS AND HAD TO DROP IT. THE CLASS IS HARD. YOU ONLY TAKE TESTS AND THERE IS ABOUT 4-5 OF THEM. THERE ARE NO OTHER GRADES AND THE TESTS ARE HARD. YOU CAN USE A 3x5 NOTE CARD BUT EACH TEST HAS ABOUT 3-5 CHAPTERS...I DONT RECOMEND HER UNLESS YOU CAN TEACH YOURSELF
She loves biology and thinks everyone understands it. Class is difficult, she will tell you and she means it. It's possible to pass but you have to work HARD!!!! If you not willing to do so. Find another professor.
Mrs. Cash is one of the best instructors I have ever had at TCC. She is actually there to help the students pass and pass with a good grade. You would have to try not to pass her class to fail. Her tests are tough if you dont come to class and dont study. She has the outline on line so you can print it and take notes on. Very Helpful Teacher.
She is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had at TCC. very helpful and can teach very well! She knows how to get the message across to you. Her tests are tough but she gives you everything you need to pass them even a card to put your notes on for the test. Never had a problem putting all my notes on the card. I would recommend her!
She has made it clear to us that she does not care at all about our class. I was so disgusted with her when I heard while she was taking role, she said "Everyone who is not here today can eat S**T and Die" referring to students who were absent. I think she should have her teaching license revoked. Absolute WORST teacher I have ever had!
She is the most awful teacher I have ever witnessed! I have witnessed her curse at students and get away with it. Her attitude towards teaching is so terrible that she really should choose a new profession. She really let the class know how she really felt. I feel sorry for the students who haven't dropped yet. I DO NOT recommend her!
She's a little hard, goes extremely fast, and if you miss a class you get pretty far behind. But she does give an outline that includes everything that will be on the test. And she allows a 3X5 card w/ the test. It is possible to do well, just a little work is involved.
She's a great teacher who knows what she's talking about. She gives you every means possible to pass her test. The only thing required from you is to study and show up to class. She tries to make the material easy to comprehend and will help you if needed. She also gives assessments before each test as to give you bonus points for each test.
Mrs.Cash was a wonderful teacher. i took her for 1408-1409.. you study you'll pass. she lets you use a 3x5 on the test +bonus points. THE FINAL WILL BE THE EASIEST TEST YOU'LL EVER TAKE IN YOUR LIFE!!! reason y is she uses 20 questions from test 1-4,you can go to her office and write the answers and put them on your your not card IT GOES N ORDER!!
Mrs. Cash is great!! she is very professional and has a great knowledge of the material she covers. She also gives out bonus points toward test by completing test assesments. her lectures are great, she loves throwing in some occational humor.
Mrs. Cash is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Her tests are difficult but she lets you use a 3x5 index card that helps a lot. She knows what she is talking about and is very clear and concise in her lectures and also uses demonstrations for difficult concepts. I highly recommend taking her.
Mrs. Cash is a really great teacher. Tests are hard but all come from the notes. So make sure you go to class, and take your computer, she talks fast. Opportunities for bonus points on tests. She's really passionate and makes lectures fun. Take her if you want to laugh and enjoy class!
DO NOT TAKE MRS. CASH's CLASS! She could care less whether you pass or fail. She talks way to fast. She even had to audacity to mention to my class that half of her students have failed her class since she has been teching biology. She is rude. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS OR LAB!
The only reason you wont like Mrs. Cash is if you are a slacker who doesn't want to put any effort into studying or paying attention in class. She gives tons of answers to the test if you just listen and use your brain. It is not a difficult class, yet so many people fail. If you can't keep up, go take a teacher that will hand you an easy A grade.
Do yourself a favor and not take her class
I have her for lab. If youre not already interested in biology this class might be tough for you because she talks SUPER fast. However, if you study you will be fine. She has a quirky sense of humor and i have learned a lot from her. she gives answers to the quizzes right before we take them so if you study for the quizzes its an easy a :)
I have Mrs Cash for bio 1408 and am still in her class and i love her! She is super easy. 4 tests and 1 final. A 3x5 notecard on tests. uh yes please! she is super good at what she does. You need to be in her lectures everytime! Amazing teacher though.
the people that have given her bad reviews obviously dont get her sense of humor. she jokes a lot to try and get laughs and will curse now and then but none of the "mean" stuff she says is out of hatred. shes jsut joking. if you love bio def take her.shes AWESOME.
OK,so she's not a bad teacher, she tries to help you out when you need it and also she has these witty jokes she uses but it's for you to understand the material, yes she's hard in the way where she expects you to understand the material but what doesn't? YES she speaks super fast but record her classes like I do, it helps. She's a fun teacher.
I could not believe some people had bad things to say about Mrs. Cash. She is the best teacher I have ever had! She would never insult any student; she really does care about us. Her humor might seem well... different, but is funny. Record her lectures and take notes. She allows 3x5 note cards for tests, and 5 bonus points. Take her!
Come on people, this is college. You are expected to do the work, and deal with people. We're supposed to be growing up already... "No curve, no kidding".Mrs. Cash is a wonderful teacher, and if you attend class, and take the assessments for bonus points, there is no way you would not make an A. You can use note cards for tests, too. Very helpful.
She's a good teacher. I had her for lab and she picked up where my lecture instructor lacked. She says inappropriate things at times that can be offensive. Her class can be difficult and you need to know the material, but she is a good teacher.
A hilarious, helpful, and sarcastic professor. She does speak VERYVERY quickly, though, so print out the outlines like she suggests and look at the book to help you and you should be fine. I highly suggest making a friend or two in your class also, as comparing notes and filling in spots I had missed was a life saver for the tests. I recommend! :)
She relates the material to real life and explains the importance of the information covered.
I took Mrs. Cash for both my Biology courses and a biology lab. She is on point about what you need to learn. If you put forth the effort and study and attend class you WILL make a good grade. She is very willing to help. She also gives bonus points towards each test if you take the optional chapter quizzes online.
The best prof ever! She is very helpful and knows the material. If you study hard and form a study group you will do great in her class.
I'm not going to say her class was easy, because it definitely wasn't. Definitely a very challenging class so only take it if you're interested in biology. She is a very good and passionate teacher though, gives bonus points, lets you use an index card on every test. Makes lectures interesting. Get with a good study group and work, you'll be fine.
She is very passionate about Biology. She gives extra credit but you have to work for it. You have to study and take lots of notes. On her tests, she will allow one 3x5 note card. I think she is a great teacher. She makes it very clear that you need to study. I made an A.
Class is Hard!! You do get to use a 3 by 5 index card on test, she does give lecture outlines, by taking her class you can she the passion she has for biology but she teaches the class like shes teaching biology for majors. My advice dont take her!
She gives good examples but she teaches like the class is for majors. I like her dumb Demos .
Listen, DO NOT take this professor. All these other good comments are from the students who love Biology. I'm your average student who took this course because I had to. She speaks way too fast and uses a myriad of biological jargon. If you study, you MIGHT get a C possibly even a B.If you don't LOVE science or biology, do NOT take this professor.
Took her class because no other openings. Big mistake!! She talk extremely fast and stumbles over her words frequently. Talks to students like they are in kindergarten. Exam verbiage is north the same as lecture. DO NOT TAKE!!!
I don't understand why ppl are giving her bad ratings. I absolutely LOVED Mrs. Cash. She is really funny and helps her students immensely! She gives extra credit opportunities for all tests and lets you use a notecard with whatever you want to write on it for each test, even the final. I HIGHLY recommend taking her class.
IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO STUDY DO NOT TAKE HER! But if you're willing to sit down and read the book, you will do fantastic. She's one of the nicest professors I've ever had but she is fair. She will help you if you talk to her and she wants you to succeed so never think the opposite. Extra credit opportunities + an outline + a notecard.
Mrs. Cash was an awesome teacher if you want to take her three things the outline she puts online is key to tests and extra credit that goes to tests i hardly read just took good notes and study them if more clarification is needed i used my book She is not easy nor is it a sit around class Also do not to miss class you will get lost
I am not super interested in Biology; however, this class has been something I benefitted from. Mrs. Cash is very passionate about what she does. If you need help studying - she's there. She's repetitive but that is what helped me retain the information. This IS NOT a blow off class. You'll actually learn something - you just have to put work.
Overall she is a good teacher but she is very repetitive and throws you under the bus if you aren't paying full attention. You can have a notecard for tests, but her tests are extremely detailed and some questions are worded awkwardly. Slideshows are fast so you better be a fast writer. She cares about her students but doesn't mess around.
This class is tough. Come on though, it's Biology. The key here is to come to class everyday and LISTEN to the lectures. Take notes. You grades depend 100% on tests, there are no other assignments. Professor Cash is funny and makes class interesting. She wants you to do well but you're going to have to work for a good grade in this class.
4 Tests + Final Grade. She lets you use one hand written 3x5 note card for each test. You can earn 5 extra credit points per test. She will drop your lowest grade and replace it with your final grade. I had to record her lectures cause sometimes she would go way too fast. If you don't undetstand something see her after, she is very helpful.
Love her! She has a kinda dry sense of humor- and I loved it. She's a great teacher, but talks fast. You can always ask for her to repeat or for help outside of class. Test are fill in the blank or practicums. I never would have passed with out her! She even gave us the lab manual! :) I even follow up with her still. Don't miss class
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! She is rude and isn't understanding! She has 4 tests and 1 final. She tries to trick you on the tests to confuse you. This is suppose to be a biology NON MAJORS class and it was worse then my A&P class! She doesn't do power points, notes only. I passed Biology 1408 with an 88! I failed her class by 0.98%! STAY AWAY!
Yes, you have to work for your grade in here but you're in college; you have to work for every grade. Don't skip the class, the lectures are very important. As long as you come to class, take notes, and do the notecards, you'll be just fine.
My personal favorite teacher at Northeast Campus in the Science Department, if you study and take good notes you'll be fine. :)
Mrs. Cash's passion for biology made the course so interesting. I have ZERO interest in biology and usually struggle understanding science but I passed her class with a B. I worked hard for it! She is funny and really knows her stuff! She sets you up for success... you just HAVE to do YOUR part. I wish ALL my professors were like her!
This class was great (: She loves what she teaches and makes it interesting for students. Listen in lecture and write notes and you'll do great on her tests. You can replace one test grade with your final. The final is taken from the previous tests, and she lets you review those tests during her office hours. It's a pretty easy A. Don't need book.
Ms. Cash is great! She's hilarious and I really enjoyed her class, especially considering I'm a non-major. There are 4 tests and a final, which are somewhat difficult, but you can use note cards for the tests and there is lots of extra credit. If you go to class and take good notes, you'll never need the textbook and you will be successful.
I took Claudia Cash for Biology 1408 for non science majors. She will give you an outline to take notes on. The tests come from her lectures and the outline although you may need to read the book because she tends to talk fast sometimes. She gives extra credit on her tests through assignments. Do these! Take notes and study if you want an A!
She is terrible. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS unless you like self studying. She will yell you every time you ask her a question. She rants about everything that is wrong with the book and will yell at you for not reading it. She is not helpful at all.
The key to why I even signed up for this course was due to it being labeled "for NON MAJORS" instead what you will get is a Prof who uses language at her level and makes ZERO attempt to bring it down to the freshmen level. Everyday, her lectures feel like you are on your way to the grad study of some biology major. DO NOT TAKE!!!
So hard, don't take her class if avoidable.
By far worst science professor I have ever taken in my life. Talks way to fast and when asked to repeat herself she will ask if you read the book and pressure you. You will learn little from her mouth all the learning will come from the book. If you have questions forget it. She will talk down to you. Dont take her if possible.
This class- even for non majors- is tough. I took her for 1409 and got an A. Be prepared to study ALOT. I have a written review on studysoup for whoever may want it. The class is hard, but she is very willing to help. Go to open lab before the exams, they help a ton!
I took Professor Cash before I switched to a Biology major. She is actually the reason I switched to a biology major. She has great lectures and great explainations and example. Her tests are a little on the tough side, but what do you expect, this college not high school. Also it almost impossible to fail her final. Professor Cash is super helpful
I took Cash for Bio 1408 also. She provides an outline & online pop quizzes for extra credit. Reading is advised. Note card allowed for each test & she tells you what the short answer question will be (along with the answer). Final is comprehensive but she gives a list of the questions (you find the answers). Tough but does what she can for us.
(took her for lab1408 too) Cash comes around too everyone to make sure they found what they are supposed to. Expect a quiz at the 1st of class, she goes over questions before hand. She will do what she can to make sure students understand. Would take her again.
I took Mrs. Cash's class for lecture and lab, her test were tough but she lets you use a note card and gives extra credit after each class to use on the test. For lab she reviews before every class which helped a ton. Overall I do recommend her, I didn't buy the book but I should have. I'm even thinking of taking her for 1409.
Talks really fast, so if you can't write as fast, then good luck. You must read the book to have a background on topics covered in lecture. However the only things discussed in class make it on her tests. You really have to pay attention in lecture to understand the information. Good teacher, a little tough during lectures because she talks so fast
Mrs. Cash is always clear in the way that she presents the subject material. I thought I would hate taking Bio but I loved it by the end of the semester. Definitely take this course for a science requirement!!
Professor Cash truly wants her students to understand the material. She will tell you exactly what she expects from you on the quizzes and on the final, and is a lenient grader-- she actually looks over quizzes twice to ensure fair grading, and corrects your mistakes so you'll know for the midterm and final exams. Perky and has a sense of humor.
Prof Cash is the most caring teacher! Took 1408 &now taking 1406 (I'm a BIO major bc of her!) EVERYTHING ON OUTLINE IS ON EXAM!! No joke when she says this. Cram that 2x4 w/all the handwritten notes you can. She makes bio fun. 4 tsts + Final Exam. Final replaces wrst grade. Xtra credit quizzes. She gives u the short answer ahead of time. STUDY 4 A
I'm only going into my third week into class and Mrs. Cash is already the best professor I've ever had. I've learned way more in these 2 weeks of BIO1409 than I learned in all of BIO1408 after taking a horrible professor for summer. Her style of teaching keeps you awake and leaves a mark on your memory so that you really get the material.
I HATE math & science and was terrified for this class. but Claudia Cash is so amazing! Her tests are super tough... you really have to go to class, take good notes, and study study study. You get a notecard on test (write tiny). Final is comprehensive but all ?'s come from previous quizzes given for extra credit.. also do those. I loved this class
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. An accurate way to describe her is that she is like that one chick from the big bang theory. but anyway this is the hardest class ive ever taken. Shes not nice, she will yell at you and if you fall asleep in class, good luck to you.
READ THE MATERIAL OK you can't be lazy in her class and do her outlines she's pretty straightforward with what she wants you to know. She's really funny; you do the work & at the end of the semester you have a chance to copy all the test questios for final and look them up cuz she gives page numbers (keep your scan trons from different tests ;)
Ms. Cash is probably the best you'll get with Biology lectures at NE TCC. She's really funny but also super helpful. She goes out of her way to give you opportunities to do well. Her lectures are good and she's very to the point. She won't give you unnecessary information. Lots of extra credit opportunities, allows a notecard for exams. She's a gem
I honestly expected her to have worse review. I had over 30 people in my class and by the end of the semester all of them dropped out. Everyone was getting 20 on their test. If you ask her a question she will start yelling at you. She expects you to read the book but always says bad things about it. Never helped anyone with anything
Mrs. Cash's lecture was very tough, she goes over slides every class and you literally have to record her lecture because it's impossible to write down everything she says. She gives extra credit after every class that goes towards your test and there is a short answer essay on the test she gives you the answer to plus you get to use a note card.
Biology is a tough subject for me but Claudia Cash encouraged me to keep pushing through even when I was failing! She's funny and makes Biology fun! Really great professor and genuinely cares!
Mrs. Cash was probably one of the most intense and passionate teachers I have ever had. If you want an easy A, this is not the professor for you. If you actually want to learn and develop a passion for science then I highly recommend taking her. Offers extra credit for tests (lecture portion is entirely based on test so it helps). She's awesome!
I loved her class! I had to retake Bio 1408 so she was the 2nd time ive taken the class but just before i took a different professor for it. She's awesome and really funny! Her material is pretty hard so i'd highly suggest forming a study group. You can use notecards on exams but dont rely on those. Record her lectures. Def one of the BEST bio prof
By far one of the best professors ive had. she does everything she can to help you, but you actually have to try. it's an easy class if you're willing to put in the effort. you have extra credit quizes for each of your tests. You can use notecards, be sure to take good notes. the dummer sure looks, the harder the concept- she's trying to help you!
She is very strict and old school but she helps you learn and pass.
Mrs. Cash is very experienced and it's evident that she enjoys teaching. Her lectures are very engaging and she has a great sense of humor. The class is challenging if you don't pull your own weight but she gives you literally every resource you could possibly need to do well in the class. Be sure to always do your "3x5 lined or unlined" notecards.
AWESOME
Mrs. Cash is amazing! Her lectures are engaging and she has her humorous side. She makes sure you understand the concept in many different ways. Always remember to bring your 3x5 notecard on test day! She is the BEST biology teacher!
You can pass Prof. Cash's class if you use all the resources given. The book is necessary so find it as cheap as possible (Amazon rental: $40). She gives outlines for every unit that follow her lecture and the book. 3x5 notecards are allowed for each lecture test! 1 point xtra cred assessments are a must for great test grades. Solid & fair class.
You wont regret taking Mrs. Cash! Extra credit assessments on test and 3x5 notecard on test. Her lectures explain the material she expects you to know for the test.
The BEST biology teacher you can take, 3x5 note card on test, gives extra credit quizzes, obviously you had to put your part to pass. You will not regret taking her!
She goes too fast during lectures. Took a non biology major course and it was pretty difficult. Record lectures. Make sure not to miss lab. Extra credit points are low not worth it .
Mrs. Cash is one of the absolute worst professors I have ever encountered. She does not care about the students or your grade. Her test are very hard! She doesn't think that over half the class failing is a problem. Lecture heavy & hard to know what she wants you to know from the information. Talks very fast & horrible at answering questions.
If you like a challenge, then I consider that you take this class. This is not 1 of those classes where you sit around & get an easy A, you have to put in effort. Ms. Cash is a funny instructor, she has no filter which makes her lectures inserting. I have learned a lot about biology thanks to her. Also she lets you take a 3x5 note card to her exams
She will scare you on the first day of class by yelling her expectations but if you do as she says and really try, you will pass the class. There are no grades other than the tests but she does allow you to make extra credit for each test. There are 4 tests and a comprehensive final. She allows the 3 x 5 index card on each test.
Ms. Cash at first may seem like a hard head, but don't be fooled. She genuinely cares about each of her students. 5 opportunities to earn 5 bonus points toward each test. 4 lecture tests, lab quiz each week, and comprehensive final. She understands that students who r taking this class aren't going into the sciences and wants everyone to succeed.
Professor Cash will seem scary on the first day, but I promise she cares about preparing students for her tests. There are extra-credit assignments that will add towards your exam that unit which will help with studying. She allows one 3x5 index card you can write on for the test. You won't fail if you put in the effort.
She clearly has a passion for biology but isn't the best prof. out there. She talks way too fast, doesn't answer questions very well, and the tests have an insane amount of complex material that you need to learn for a course that is for non science majors. I would love to go out into the field with her but wouldn't take her class again.
Class starts on the 20th and today is the 13th. she has already posted outlines and a test for us to do before the first day of class. Not sure why she would think this is a good idea because no one wants to do a test before they actually need to. She only posted the syllabus 13hours ago and expect us to get this book last minute. planning to drop!
I have her for bio in the fall this year and from what she has posted so far am sure she's going to be one of those instructors you will have to kiss up to in order to make a decent grade. She expects us to come in already having read chapter one and knowing the material. for someone like me who hasn't taken bio since high school this is insane!
Get ready to go overtime in lecture and cash never has time for questions during lecture but she has time to make inappropriate jokes. She expects you to know that theres six of these things when the book only lists 5, and we wouldnt know that without her telling us. To add to this shes a very negative person. 1st test 70 questions AVOID HER!
I'm an All-A student, but I had to drop her class because of the extremely harsh lab quizzes. I failed nearly every one; they're super difficult and plummeted my grade way down. I would not recommend her class!
she is a great teacher, you definitely have to work for a good grade, but she is very funny and if you read the book and watch bioflix you will be completely fine
Shes insane, but focused. Shes funny. Shes tough, shes fast so record the lecture, but she grades fair. She repeats important info all the time so you just have to be present and listen. Reading ahead helps, plus xtra cred. Shes clear about whats on the test, follow the study guide. Not an easy class, but if you care, youll be fine!
I will leave a very honest review in hopes to help someone else but keep in mind Everyone has a different exp with instructors. Ms. Cash was hard at first and the concepts were hard for me to grasp because i was dealing with a lot of personal things but if you can focus in class and study the material you will do fine. but you have to put in work.
Do not take this class unless you are willing to invest a good amount of time. Even trying to get past Proctorio for tests is a bit challenging with how she words questions. If you work and are doing multiple classes be very ready to get very annoyed with this professor. She is not lenient in the slightest. Stay away unless you love wasting time.
I took Professor Cash my first semester of college (Fall of 2019) and it is the best decision I've made! Her teaching goes beyond biology, she teaches you how to study, take notes, and overall prepared me for other college courses. It is definitely not an easy course, but Professor Cash wants you to succeed! Definitely recommend!
I think she is a great professor. She might sound like she is a terrible person, but she is actually really nice and helpful. She provides lecture outlines for each chapter, so it is much easier for you to understand what will be on the tests. And theres these chapter assesments, those are literally questions from the test. Make sure you STUDY!
Always willing to help Makes lectures interesting with jokes Heavy reading, but if u take the time to study & pay attention in lectures u should be fine Posts chapter outlines that tell u EXACTLY what u need to know 2 assessments/chapter attendance + easy test points 4 tests + final Lab att. 1 question set + 1 quiz /week (super easy!)
Professor Cash was one of the worst, very condescending responses when asking for clarification via email. Her Blackboard class was combined w/another professors making it difficult to understand which announcements or due dates to follow. Syllabus was an unorganized Word document that was difficult to read. The test reviews are not clear at all.
she was very condescending when responding to emails & in lectures when people asked questions. i was in the hospital for a week & had no access to the internet. my sister emailed her letting her know & she said being in the hospital is no excuse for missed assignments & told me to drop the class, didnt even offer help or advice.
I was struggling for the first test because I put things off. Afterwards I put in effort and Prof. Cash is trying to help even if you don't think so. Its hard but if you get a pattern of work and talk to your peers YOU WILL BE OKAY. Biology is not my best subject but I still got a B. I wouldn't take this class again only cause science isn't my jam
If you pay attention and actually try, it isn't too hard of a class. Lecture heavy as there is a lot to go over. I did not buy the textbook but I suggest making a GroupMe with the class so you can get together and study and share materials.
Gets easily frustrated and yells at students. Confusing all together when giving lecture and not very clear with teaching.
Bottom line, do not take this professor for lab! Condescending tone, confusing lectures, notes do not align with information posted on Canvas, expects students to spend 20 hours a week on Biology alone. (my original review was deleted. I guess I was a bit too honest regarding my experience.) DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!
I loved Professor Cash's class! If you put in the effort and pay attention during class, you will definitely have a good chance at an A. Take all the bonus point opportunities you can and go to the review sessions. She is a funny professor and knows how to make her lectures engaging. One of my favorite professors I've ever had!
Never take her class. Extremely rude to students/ makes you sign the syllabus as a contract where she can do and say whatever she wants and claims you cant do nothing about it bc not only is it her word over yours, but she has "ties." If u don't sign u must drop. Her exact words were "this class is high enrollment low success, which is yall."
I had the hardest time in Professor Cash's class. She is very old-schooled and does not let you access her power points. She is a very tough grader and attendance is a must. I would not recommend her class to most. Only those who enjoy biology and have an amazing memory. I will say that when I met her during her office hours she was super kind.
Dr Cash is rude to her classes. She belittles you if you ask a clarifying question. After every exam she puts the percentages of the grades from all of her classes on the board. C and below typically had the highest percentage each time. Which she would blame on the class. Would go on weird tangents that were not relevant
