I love Dr. Neira. She is not easy, but she is very fair. She teaches from her power points and the book. If you study and try you can pass with an excellent grade, but you have to try. Don't expect an easy A. Or not coming prepared to class. Disgruntled students will complain because they clearly put zero effort. She helps and guides you!

Speaks very clearly. Very kind, very knowledgable. I feel very good about the material and her class helped me understand what the lecture did not explain for me.

Never be late for her practical exams. Plan to be there 10 mins before you start the class. I was there late and the door was locked when she started. She is nice, but appreciates students who are prepared and those who are on time. Her class is not easy, but she make is very fun and she is willing to help.

Excellent professor! If you want to learn A&P this is a great professor. She will go by the class book, power points, but also is very interesting clinical information. This helps put into perspective the theory to real life situations.

This class is no joke. This professor is nice, but she is very stern. Study before class and try to understand your basic concepts, she will not be happy if you think she will teach you from scratch. You will learn A&P I! If you study you will do very well!

I took her for Fall 2013 and she is amazing professor. She gives powerpoints to read from and also uses the lab book as well. She will go over things in class, but you have to focus or you will not pass. She helps you memorize things easily and she's very fair. I would definitely recommend her again!

A very good professor. She is hands down the most helpful and clear professor that I have encountered. Truly dedicated, intelligent and willing to go out of her way to help you understand. Do not expect an easy A or B. But if you put the time and effort into her class you will get those grades.

This professor is fair. Her class is based on lecture and quizzes that will prepare you for the practical exams. She means business . I started feeling like I wanted to drop the class and after her teaching approach I can see how my quizzes have improved dramatically week by week. This is a lab class, so in class once a week so don't miss class. There is 2 quizzes and 2 practical exam. Quizzes are more critical thinking and theatrical(25-30queations). Exam were purely identification(50 questions). Overall great professor, it's tough but you learn a lot along the way!

I have seen what others have written and truth is yes, she is not an easy professor. Yes, she gives quizzes. The key is that if you study your book you are prepared for the lab, you will know the material. Her power points are there to reinforce the information. She is very helpful and extremely nice. This is one class you will know your stuff.

Incredibly brilliant. Really nice, but no nonsense. She will Straight you up if you slack off in her class. Listen to her PPT lectures, they are helpful when studying difficult material. This Dr. Is inspirational!!! She is so intelligent! Amazing ability bring real life medical cases and experiences and discuss them in class. She is tough, but so caring. If you study her notes, you take advantage of the info she provides for you... You will be great! too bad I am done with all the classes she teaches!

I love her. We all loved her. She truly cares for her students and will bend forwards and backwards to make sure you understand. I did not pass but will take the class with her again. It's a tough class and I am happy to retake it.

I like her method. She stay true to the power points. Follows the book. If you study the material given you will do well. Had my first quiz and she helped us by giving us guidelines with material to focus on. Other students maybe upset but they possible bombed the quiz. She is excellent in my opinion!

I just started this class tonight. 12 week course. Let's cut to the chase. Good first impression. On time. Organized. Clear. Funny. Very sweet. Seems like the expectations are high. I like her structure and her accessibility outside of class. I did not even start the course and she was available to answer my questions.

I started this class yesterday. Second time I have taken Microbiology. its a tough class. She will be quizzing regularly, but this is what was missing in my previous class. We had two tests. We were told to go read. She is personalble and willing to go out of her way for us to learn. I think she is fair.

This was a real eye opener! I have never taken a science class. She is a true professor. Does not teach to the exam, but teaches you so well. You will learn. Its tough, but she will do everything she can to help you. Read, take notes, she will provide reviews, learning outcomes and extra credit helps!!! She is an amazing professor.

Loved this semester with her. Her weekly quizzes keep me very much on top of all the material. She breaks everything down perfectly, this helps me understand the material perfectly!

Definitely an eye opening experience. I did not have any science background and walked into this class expecting an easy grade or an easy class. Not true. Come with some basic science background. She is is great, very caring and will help you. BUt you do have to study hard.

I never had a Professor that cared so much for us. Her le tures were always fun, exciting, and she truly cared to see each and everyone pass and do well! She gives you great real life examples, easy to understand complicated information, and very accommodating. This is not my first round in college and I never had a professor like her.

This class was more difficult than lecture. I had to study every week and take quizzes throughout the entire semester. I am grateful for this structure. I was able to learn, study and understand this course.

This class isn't easy. You have to read a lot. However, Dr. Neira goes out of her way to make sure you understand the material, helps you by giving you extra credit and offers study guides. She REALLY wants you to do well, so if you do your part you will get a good grade. Moreover, her classes are really interesting.

This professor really wants us to do well. She emails us when we miss class's she evaluates our performance and as a class focuses on our weaknesses. She teaches by the book, experience and uses power points. Awesome.

This professor wants you to pass. I gave up on my idea of this path or profession and she has eagerly made me feel that I can actually do this. I will miss her and her awesome dedication to us as students. The class is not easy, but she lets you know she is here for you. This gave me confidence and less fear to tackle this course.

This is rough class. Anyone you take take this class with will be tough. Not easy, but this instructor will go above and beyond to help us. You really have to try hard to fail. She give some reviews for exams and quizzes. You just have to want to do it.

I am also taking micro. This instructor is fair. She gives reviews for all quizzes. I do well because I study, others do not study and complain. Others want her to go over all the questions on every quiz and test. Unrealistic. Read, study and you will do very well. Do not come to a tough class thinking you need to add no effort on your part.

This was definitely the hardest class I have taken. She gives VERY many chances to improve grade and gives a ton of extra credit. Exams/ quizzes will make absolutely zero sense if you do not fully understand the material. If you are serious about your grades and willing to put in the TIME and effort into studying, you will do very, very well.

Had this instructor for last semester. I am not able to sign up for the second part of the class. I will wait until it is offered with her again. Very nicely organized lectures, explains very well for someone who has never had this exposure before. I am thankful for all her help. Excellent instructor!

Had my first quiz. This instructors is very caring. She took the time to explain, to guide and support several of us who had questions after class ended. Provides resources, gives extra credit, she seems to really care and want to help. I am very happy and feel very positive about the course with her. Also, no accent, perfect English!

Dr. Neira has truly gone above what most instructors have done in my previous classes. She has given extra credit, gives exams and quizzes with the opportunity to improve our grades by allowing us to rewrite our notes. We are half way into the course, moving forward we are evaluated based on our own merit. Fingers crossed I will continue to do well

Here it is. Tough, but gives you plenty of opportunities to do well. Study her reviews, (everything), but it really helps you prepare for the exams and quizzes and you will be fine. She wants you to do well and does give everyone a chance.

Loved this professor! This was my second time taking her class. I wish she had more classes to teach, but she is taking time off and has not signed up to teach for a while. One of the few that truly cares about your success. It is a tough class, but you will learn your material. Thanks Doc!!!

Overall a very adoring professor. She takes extra time to make sure all students understand the lecture and have time for questions. She mostly followed the book content though, so be sure to have a copy alongside with you.

easy test/quizzes w/ a tutor+ the internet (im bad at bio). nice prof, wants you to pass. hard to fully understand the material, fast class, lots of complex chapters. LONG lectures, with cam on (annoying). quiz every few chapters 20 questions, midterm + final 50 questions. 1 easy presentation on a disease/developmental disorder of your choice.

Dr Neira is a great instructor. I enjoyed her lectures. We had a virtual course. She took her time to explain, made sure we understood. Always available to speak with us. I was concerned after some of the reviews, nothing like that. I guess everyone has a different experience. Great experience and wish she would teach the next bio class.

The Lab with Dr Neira. The workbook is needed for lab work. Otherwise, you will not know how to do the work. She gives extra credit for having the book completed before the midterm and final exams. She helps us work as a team making lab fun! Her lab lectures sometimes help explain what the class lecture does not. Great Instructor and she cares!

Dr. Neira was simply fantastic. Her lectures are very insightful and full of real life examples. Her vast knowledge of biological systems (especially within the human body) are always on display. She can occasionally go down a rabbit hole that's loosely related to the subject, but you always learn something amazing that you otherwise wouldn't!

Great and kind Professor. With the class being a lab, you have to engage with your table members and possibly other people in class. There are only 5 graded canvas assignments, which include the midterm and final, so it is important to not fail or miss any assignment. Extra credit was given for midterm if the lab books were complete.

The Lab was great. She offers hands on experience and works with you to make sure you understand the material. I appreciated her willingness to help and work with us. Thank you.

This lab had a few classes cancelled due to holidays and weather. The instructor was very fair and made sure we all had the opportunity to get the lab information. She lectures helping the class understand the content for lab. She is very kind and willing to work with us. I will miss her. Thank you.

We have a midterm, final, case study, and two quizzes. She is very knowledgeable and uses her experience in medicine to help us understand the lecture and the topics. I truly enjoyed her lectures. I wish she would teach the next class but she is not available or scheduled.she will work with you to help you!

TAKE HER!! her class was very easy. Labs are already fun in my opinion but she made sure to go through each step with the class, as well as going over lecture a little just incase people may be confused.There were no midterms and no finals.

Great Class! Lectures are incredible and she really cares. Always striving that we learn and understand the topics of that day so we can walk away knowing the main objectives. Great Instructor! My only issue is that she only teaches this class. I wish she could teach the next Biology Course.
