great orof, freakin hot. fun class, easy going. Hope i pass.
Very nice and easy to get along with. Always lets you out a little early. Not a lot of homework and the readings are actually interesting. 5 papers and 1 research but you write the first draft in class and she comments on it and then you rewrite it for a grade. she gives you chances to drop lowest quizes and papers. final is optional. take her!
Very nice. easy grader. nothing real complicated. lets you out early. if you do well you can miss the final exam. she grades decently on papers. lets you hand in anything up to one class late for a lower grade. drops a quiz. sometimes tries to help you if the class is good
Good teacher, extremely helpful. lets you out of class early. It's actually fun to go to class, and her esays are straight forward. You can always e-mail your essays to her up to 6 o clock pm of the day it's due, and still get full credit. Cares about what you learn, more than grades.
I don't think she's easy on the grades, but she is fair. She is helpful. Attendance, getting to class on time and deadlines matter. I like that she comments on papers so you know what you do wrong.
Excellent Teacher! She grades the papers fairly, lets you pick your topics, and lets you out of class early. Just don't write you in a paper. A few papers and a research paper. She's great and so is the class! Take it!
Don't be fooled. I know 3 who are failing in my class and others stopped coming. She's EZ if u like to write & do the work. Lets u out 5 mins early, but tuff on attendnce and being on time.
Very nice and very passionate. You write about five three-page papers and one research paper, 5-7 pages, you choose most of the topics. She edits papers for you most of the time and you correct them before she grades them. Make sure you come to class, and do the readings (some are interesting), and you'll do fine. HIGHLY reccomended!
I enjoyed this class a lot! As long as you do the work you will do well in this class. She helps you improve your writing skills and teaches you how to revise your own work. She cares a lot about her students.
U must be a f-ing nerd to survive this class. U write till ur hand crams and who said the reading was entertaining? Previous comments obviously writen by losers with no social life.
The readings are interesting IN COMPARISION to other English classes and they're pretty short. Not stuff I would read for fun or anything like that, but it's not boring. There are a few papers, but they're not hard at all, and she corrects most of them before you rewrite them so it's not bad. One term paper, no tests. Final is optional.
Enjoys comedy, fun, no tests but major papers, you need to edit your papers,
Just write a paper every week or two and she grades them easily. The reading is pointless, you don't even have to do it.
Funny and down to earth. Very calm. She lets you be creative with her essays. She assigns hw but a few of us that did good on the essays werent doing the hw and it was hurting our grade, so she decided not to count it anymore. I got As on almost every essay but a****ty research grade...ended with a B+. Partic. + overall work means more to her.
I enjoyed this class. Professor Verge helped me become a better writer. She is extremely nice and funny.
My favorite teacher at Central. She helped me learn how to write and what to write. Interesting, Fun, and Realistic lessons.
I did not expect to learn so much in one class. Great professor. Calm, realistic, fair, entertaining and informative. Stickler for attendance, punctuality and deadlines. She was a journalist so her stuff is for real. Highly recommended.
Replaced original teacher so was only teaching our class for half a semester, from what I saw, is someone who loves what she does and will do everything for her students
Class was not as easy as expected, but I learned a lot. She's really good. Clearly in command of subject and students. If you want to learn and do the work, you'll like her. Not an easy grade though.
Fair, interesting and approachable. Will make you work for a grade, but at least you don't feel like you're wasting your money. Zero tolerance for excuses, as evident by my grade. :(
strict as hell
She took over our class mid semester THANK GOD! She is great, knows her stuff and won't let her students settle for anything but the best. For the person who thinks she is "strict as hell" - get out of college. She is actually one of the best teachers I've ever had. Do the work and you'll be fine.
I echo the "no excuses" comment. She's strict and also a tough grader, but I have to admit that she's fair. She def. cares about what she teaches and wants her students to improve their writing. I learned a lot from her.
She's hard and not understanding. You can't talk to her on a taecher student level makes you feel uncomfortable.
Love her! She is friendly and funny and though she has very high standards, she helps you achieve them if you do the work. All my teachers combined did not teach me as much as she has. Take her! You won't be disappointed.
strict attendance policy, damands hard work
She gives you the rules and sticks by them. Gotta respect that. Not an easy grader, but a fair one and an excellent teacher. Challenging, but also lots of fun. Gave tons of quizzes, three essays, final paper, a grammar exam and a final exam. Lots of work, but my writing improved and that's what I was there for.
This professor is awesome! She has simple presentations, but not simple thoughts, which makes her teaching style endearing and beneficial. I look back on the semester and remember so many things because of the way she taught them. Very passionate, very lively and committed to her students. Do the work, and you'll have no reason to complain.
Great Professor. Attendance policy is strict, 4 or 5 papers, you can email them to her to look over before you hand them in, if you use her feedback you will get a better grade! One of my favorite teachers at Central, I highly recommend you take this class.
Fun, but has high standards. Tough grader, but a fair one. You'll definitely learn from her.
High standards. Strict attendance policy. Demands quality work and professional behavior. I had her for two subjects and enjoyed being challenged and taught by her.
The first day I thought I was going to die. She has high expectations which can be very intimidating but over the course of the semester she became my favorite professor. If you work hard, come to class, and actively participate you're in the clear. Take any class with her and trust me you won't be disappointed.
I honestly wish she had been my high school English teacher because I would have probably never started to hate literature and writing. She is very passionate about her job, and professional. High standards. 17-20 page final paper. Two exams. No excuses, so take her only if you want to do the work. She gives you a syllabus and sticks by it.
Strict on attendance, grade's VERY unfairly-you can show your trying your best,do all the work, and have perfect attendance, and she'll still fail you. Teaches at a VERY fast pace. Follows the syllabus. She cracks herself up,& def. picks her favorites...so if you take her, make sure you suck up!
Outstanding Professor, definitely not an easy grade, will make you focus and learn, but is also a fun teacher because she is young
GREAT Professor. Very fair, very approachable, very high standards. You'll love her if you want to learn. You'll hate her if you're lazy or stupid.
She is honestly the most friendly professor I have ever had at CCSU and she is great! Her class was interesting and fun. She is very to talk to and she is very easy to contact outside of class. I would absolutely take her again.
Covers material quickly and efficiently. Grades fairly. Her passion, knowledge and energy on the subject are amazing.
A+++++++++++ She is my favorite of them all and I don't even like writing. A no Bull kind of professor. She makes everything clear and practical. She gives honest and thorough feedback that really helps you improve. Take her for any class you can. Definitely not an easy grade, but a true learning experience with an awesome professor.
Very professional and approachable. Tough on grading (especially grammar and spelling, but hey, this is college), and strict attendance policy, but a great professor that will teach you a lot. Had no problems with her and class was never boring.
Nothing but good things to say about her. Very straightforward, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Not an easy grade, but a really cool instructor who cares about her students. Go to class, do the work, you'll thank her.
Had her for a summer class and I know I missed out by not being in her class an entire semester. Among the best professors at CCSU.
As a recent grad, I cannot emphasize how much I learned from her last semester. Shouldn't have waited until the last semester to take the course. Very cool lady. Professional. Approachable. Practical class work. And to quote her, "EDIT, EDIT, EDIT," or you will your grade. The skills are paying off on my job.
Very good instructor. Very clear. Also, very available to her students. She actually responds to your emails which so many professors do not. You do not even realize how much you are learning because she makes it so clear and practical. Highly recommend.
Excellent professor. I didn't realize how much I would have to write on my job. She helped me improve my writing and become more confident in my ability to communicate. A very good class.
Great class. Fantastic professor. I dread writing but she made everything very clear and very practical. She gives a lot of helpful feedback. If you really want to learn, take her class.
The best teacher hands down. Fair, clear, smart, and makes this class fun. I feel like a much more comfortable writer now because of her.
Awesome professor. I messed up this semester with not going to class and keeping up with work, and I am probably failing the class, but I will try to take her class again. I like her teaching style a lot. She actually teaches.
Great teacher. Attendance is mandatory, I learned a lot. Really helped me learn how to write a paper. I'm confident in writing because of her and am going to minor in English due to my confidence in writing now. I was not a good writer until I was in her class. She grades easy. Definitely a people person. Friendly.
She is a very good teacher if you are willing to work with her and do the assigned work. She is very intelligent when it comes to writing papers and was very helpful.
Easily the greatest English professor that I have ever had the pleasure to have! She is difficult but will teach you immensely and will definitely make you a better writer. Papers are graded fairly and are required to be at least 6-7 pages in length; again, this is a particularly difficult class. Overall, highly recommend!
Great professor, but be ready to write - a lot! I considered dropping the course after the first essay and I am glad I didn't. She is knowledgeable, passionate, and helpful. If you do the work, you will leave her class a better person.
Attendance is mandatory. Generalized discussions with no book quizzes. Focus is primarily on book themes. Enjoyable for non-majors like myself. She understands its a gen ed requirement, therefore makes goals reachable for the average student. Will definitely take her again if i needed another english gen ed.
A really great teacher. She has completely changed my mind about English courses. Professor Verge tries hard for the student and shes always in a good mood. Take her class.
Makes you work for a grade but gives great feedback. I am more confident because of her class. She is very approachable and fair and I think most students like and respect her because she does the same for us.
Rank and tags say it all. Make sure you show up.
My favorite professor. She is smart, has high standards, but is also caring and funny. I am not very smart, but she never made me feel that way. I hope to take one of her classes again.
Professor Verge actually takes the time to learn your name and something about you. She always emails back in an efficient amount of time (within hours or later that day). She's very helpful and willing to meet at our times. She's very helpful and organized. Only cancelled class once or twice, but you don't mind going to class. She's funny too.
professor verge is the BEST! she is kind and helpful. I took her freshman comp. class and I would do it again in a heart beat. I didn't think that I would learn anything, but I did. there were 4 essays total, no tests, some homework( maybe one or two and its short and easy). easy A if you show her you put some effort in it.
Amazing teacher and very helpful. Shes sweet and is passionate about helping her students grow. Shes very understanding and is willing to work with you, also has very good feed back. In no way way I lost or confused even with missing days
Professor Verge clearly loves her job and her students. She is intelligent, passionate, funny, and encouraging. At the same time, she is a stickler for deadlines and quality work. She'll make you work for a grade (and she has no problem failing people as evident by the number in my class who dropped) but at the same time, you'll learn a lot.
I took this class to be done with my gen eds, best decision ever! This class is super easy and she is insanely understanding. Just do the work and go to class and you're bound to get an A :)
Really helped me improve my writing. She's very knowledgeable and provides clear feedback. She's approachable, smart, funny, and definitely cares about her students. You won't be bored and you will learn from her.
Seriously saddened that the semester is ending. She's a great professor who genuinely cares about her students and their success. I learned a lot about journalism, writing, and myself.
I am really enjoying class with her. She is laid back and high energy at the same time, informative, easy to talk to, and I have already seen improvement in my writing because of her. Show up, do the work, you'll be glad you took her class.
Professor Verge was awesome. Assignments were easy and she's very clear cut about everything. Great professor
Awesome professor. Simple class with clear instructions of what is expected. She is so nice and helpful and easy to get along with. Even though the class was 2hrs and 40mins it was super chill and fun. 10/10 would recommend.
I'm stating the obvious: she an awesome professor. Inspires you to think, but doesn't tell you what to think. Gives details feedback for writing problems (very helpful) and keeps class as lively as possible. She's also very approachable and responds to emails quickly.
Great professor, she's laid back and gives great feedback when she has you write articles. No tests except for the final and you watch three movies and have to write a paper on only 1 and it's an easy A because the movies are actually interesting. Would take again.
I really learned a lot in this class. I don't just look at the news differently (and more), but my writing has better structure and vocabulary. The professor made for a very good learning experience.
Excellent teacher who has taught me allot about writing. Very professional and if your fortunate enough to have an extremely small class like I did you will see the benefits. Very clear about what exactly she wants and guides through the learning experience.
One of the best. Precise, intelligent, fair, approachable, helpful, and clear. Think of any good adjectives and they apply to her.
So far it's been three essays, three D's for me. Will I pass her class? Prob not. But I did learn a lot and its not her fault. I just wasn't ready for this kind of writing level and she's not just handing out grades. Cool professor but not easy. If you take her class, be ready to write and write well.
Professor Verge dishes tough love and will not buy your excuses, but it's obvious that teaching is her passion and she really cares about the students who want to improve. Show up, do the work, and you'll be proud of yourself in the end. She's a fantastic professor.
I love Professor Verge. She is very understanding, and really wants to help. She is fantastic. The class does run slowly. I am a very good writer, so she moves very slow for me, but if you want to learn slower she is the professor for you.
Show up to class, do the work, and you'll be a better writer because of her. In the beginning of the semester class was slow and I appreciated that because rhetorical analysis was new to me and hard. Argument was faster, but she helped me a lot outside of class. She is funny, approachable, knowledgeable, and I really recommend her.
As I stood in our last class today (10 of the 20 students we started with), I realized that her class certainly wasn't easy and her high standards are too high for some. But for me, I found her patient, encouraging, and caring. She sets the bar high, but if you work for it, she also helps you achieve it.
Professor Verge has been one of the best professors I've had so far at CCSU. If you don't get a good grade it's only because you didn't try hard enough. She's always available of extra help, always replies to her emails, and she's really respected. She's a really good professor and I definitely recommend taking her class.
Favorite professor I've had so far. She's intelligent, funny, and very helpful and clear in her feedback. But don't miss class or deadlines or give her crappy work. You'll pay for it.
She is a tough grader but gives clear feedback and you'll definitely improve your writing. After taking her class, I can't imagine anyone else being my English professor. She explains everything clearly and taught me to even think better. Doesn't accept late work and attendance counts, so consider yourself warned.
If you can get into one of her classes, consider yourself lucky (they fill up fast). She's both a great professor and an amazing person. Changed my writing, inspired me to challenge myself and believe in myself, and helped me see the importance of being passionate about our jobs and choices. It was truly a great class.
One of the best professors here, no matter you're writing level she will help you to excel. She gives great feedback and there are 3 major essays that are spaced throughout the semester. Lots of little writing assignments and hw throughout.
Definitely one of the best professors I have had at ccsu. She makes sure her students understand the material and breaks down the work for you. She turned a subject which I disliked into one I love. I wouldn't hesitate to take her class again.
She's definitely strict. She doesn't accept late work or excuse absences. I had to withdraw from her class, but she is a good professor who explains content clearly and creates a positive learning environment. If you take the course seriously and do the work, you probably won't have a problem.
I found her to be professional, kind, and with high standards. If you expect to show up and clown around, she's not the professor for you. If you show up wanting to learn and giving it a good effort, you won't regret taking her.
I took english 101 with her and i cant thank her enough for all the help she gave me. She is very understanding and you can tell she wants all her students to succeed. she gives great feedback and has wonderful ideas when it comes to helpi9ng you with your papers. I wouldnt suggest slacking off because before you know it the course is over
I can't think of a better writing professor. She is very thorough and gets down to your level and helps you improve to get to hers. I really hated English before taking her class and as the weeks went on it became my favorite. My favorite thing about her is that she is intelligent and has high standards, but never talks down to you.
She is my favorite professor I had for my first semester this year. She made me learn so many things I didn't realize I needed to know. She is funny and gives great feedback.
I learned A LOT in this class and she has been a fantastic professor for me. If you care to do the work, she is very approachable and responsive (and actually helpful), but there is a lot of work and she really has high expectations of her students. This is not an easy grade class.
In the beginning I thought she pushed me so hard because she didn't like me, and then I realized the opposite. She actually believed in me and pushed me to challenge myself. I couldn't believe the essays I was able to write. If you really want to learn and you put in the work, take her for English. You won't regret it.
You can't get by in this class just by showing up. She makes you work for a grade but also teaches you a lot. It's obvious she cares about her students and really wants you to challenge yourself and improve.
FANTASTIC professor! Organized, thorough, clear, and very approachable. Like others have said, she definitely makes you work for a good grade, but you'll be better off for it because she'll teach you a lot.
Professor Verge was very nice and funny. She made the class vibe feel comfortable and encouraged everyone to have a say or express their opinions. She does have major papers that require a lot of pages but she is there to help and give feedback. She also has good presentations when introducing a new topic.
Taking a break from this online-only nightmare scenario to acknowledge this professor. One week in but I know I can do this because of HER. She still has high standards, but is so organized, clear, and obviously a great caring human. Thank you Professor Verge.
If you get into her class, youre lucky. She is the kindest professor Ive had. The class involves 4 essays and is a lot of work, but I learned so much. She actually cares about her students. I wrote essays that I couldnt have dreamt of before her class. She encourages class participation, and is truly a gem at CCSU. Definitely try for her class.
Explains everything. Has high expectations but also helps when you need it. Good professor
Enjoyed taking this class. Graded on discussion posts almost every week which are short and easy, two exams and a 3-5 page essay. The exams are easy just make sure you read the short stories and take notes on them because that is the only way you will pass the exams. Overall, I recommend taking this class with professor Verge.
Very good professor. Online was different but she provided a lot of examples and responded to questions and provided feedback very quickly. I actually learned a lot, which I didn't think I would online. Not an easy class or easy grades, but can tell she cared even from her emails.
Excellent professor. Very approachable, organized, and clear. Never makes students feel like we are asking stupid questions and seems to value and respect their viewpoints. Wasn't a reader before her class, but might become one.
Professor Verge is sweet as pie. As long as you read and do the required postings, you will pass the class. Assignments for the readings are questions that are to be answered by your interpretation, same with the response paper. She is more than willing to answer any questions you have and engage in discussion. Wish we had more professors like her.
I really liked her teaching style. We would have class about twice a month on a Monday or Wednesday and she would give us plenty of time to do the readings in between. The analysis essay is 3-5 pages and it's on whatever reading you like. The exams are a little challenging though if you don't do the readings.
Great professor. Even if you don't like reading, you'll have to for this class, but it's worth it. She's clear, organized, and caring. I don't think anyone feel stupid in her class and that's because of her personality and teaching style.
TAKE HER if you can get into her class (fills up fast!). Has a heart for what she's teaching and keeps it real. A lot of reading (some 30 authors!!) but very interesting and relatable. I'm about to graduate and she's one of few professors that made me want to go to class.
This professor is really everything you'd want in a teacher. Professional but also fun, very knowledgeable yet interested in her students' opinions. That's pretty rare. I've never felt comfortable with class participation, but she conducts class in a really encouraging way and is genuinely interested in how you connect to readings.
She is an AMAZING professor! She is so sweet, caring and truly cares about what we have to say. Her classroom is a safe space. I enjoyed going to class every week. She always encourages students to participate and never makes you feel dumb. You can tell she loves what she does and loves her students. Ten out of ten, absolutely love her!
Dr. Verge was a sweetheart! If you show up to class and do the readings or at least spark-note them, then you will pass. I enjoyed going to class. Some of the readings are long but she always went over them in so much detail that it made them easy to understand. Such a great class!
Professor is very understanding and passionate about her work; she has a kind aura to her. Her materials are clear and easy to navigate. I took her Women's writers class. Attendance is mandatory, but she is cool.
Responds to emails! Cares about student input and is very approachable. The readings are challenging and she somehow manages to make a very boring class interesting.
I'm an English major so if you need to take a literature class for a gen ed, TAKE HER. She is extremely understanding, and all the literature we have read she makes very clear why we are reading them and why they are still important today.
I'm no English major and I hate reading. I took this class because I had to and dreaded it. I waited 2 semesters to get into one of her classes and so glad I did. I still don't like reading and there's a lot of it, but she's just kind, approachable, and explains things well. She's passionate about her job and cares for her students. Take her class!
"What does it mean to be human? A hero? A leader?" she asked. Machiavelli. Achilles. Dante, Arjuna! The readings are hard but awesome and she is a huge reason for that because she explains clearly. By the way, Prof. Verge, in case you read this...I'm pretty sure your students think you're all three. Thanks for a really fun and impactful semester.
Amazing professor. She'll hold your interest the entire class time. Covers a lot of material, but is so engaging and enthusiastic and clearly cares about students. Very knowledgeable and organized, but also approachable and kind. I don't usually participate in classes, but hers was different. No tricks or agendas...refreshing actually.
Intellectually stimulating but gives you the freedom to think for yourself. Great reading selections. No meaningless work. Passionate, approachable...really a terrific professor. Do the readings. Show up. She wants you to succeed if you do the work.
Professor Verge is absolutely, beautifully amazing. Show up to class, do the readings and you will pass. I wouldn't say it was easy, lots of readings. Professor Verge makes it bearable and interesting. She is approachable, sweet and very understanding. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN
Some readings are great (Ramayana, Machiavelli), some aren't (Chinese/Japanese poetry), but Professor Verge was always great: clear, fair, and engaging. The course is reading heavy, but she assigns questions to prepare us for exams. She wants students to connect with the readings, even when they're challenging. I hope for more classes with her.
Took her Women Writers class. covered lots of Authors at least 40. Do the questions she hands out each class to help you on the take-home tests. one response paper on an assigned reading that you have to present and one five-page research paper. two take-home tests. final exam is online. She is very good at responding to emails.
A LOT of reading, so not an easy workload. She is very passionate and approachable and makes classes enjoyable. Love take-home exams because I can think without pressure, but still, you need to read. Learned a lot of things I didn't know and would take another class with her without hesitation. Strict on attendance and gives surprise quizzes.
Professor Verge is a strong but approachable leader. She inspires you to be better, to learn more, to be true to you. I found myself connecting with everything she taught because of the way she teaches. It's structured, but also not restricted. I found her intelligent, funny, and fair. Taking another class with her just because I want to.
Prof. Verge is amazing. The Eng215 course is def a lot but she isn't a tough grader. But the readings can be a lot so be prepared. Exams are take home. Allows up to three absences. Tries her best to make English fun. Would take again, just wouldn't take this class again lol. Super accessible- has replied to emails at 5:30am and on weekends.
Favorite professor! Teaches very fast and expects you to keep up with a lot of readings, but makes class enjoyable with interesting lectures and detailed interpretations of readings. Prepares you well for exams and is approachable and friendly. Do the readings, attend class and you'll do great.
I've never enjoyed English class and Professor Verge honestly changed that. Her teaching style is so relatable and you can tell she loves her job and enjoys engaging with her students. A LOT OF READING and she teaches fast so you need to prepare for exams (she gives advanced questions), but if you can get into her class, you won't be disappointed.
She's very passionate about what she teaches, which is something you have to keep up with from time to time. Unintentionally funny at times, very chill. Will respond to you over email and provide good feedback. Would definitely take her again.
Heavy reading load and she expects consistent solid effort, but she's a really fantastic professor. Very approachable and organized. She stays on schedule (which I appreciate), is easy to talk to, and explains in a clear, relatable way. She cares about students more than about her ego and it shows.
Teaches fast and there's A LOT of reading. But she's intelligent, funny, caring, and has a cool and calm aura about her. I REALLY enjoyed her class and I've never said about any English class before. Wish I could take more classes with her, not because she's easy, but because she's really great.
Professor Verge is amazing! She is so smart, well-spoken, and so inspiring. When it comes to school writing is not enjoyable for me, but taking this class with Professor Verge completely changed that. I truly recommend her! She is a great professor and person. Attendance is mandatory, only 3 absences, but besides that everything else is fair.
Fantastic professor. I'm a guy in a women's lit class. Need I say more? But she's intelligent, lively, organized, and respected. Really not enough adjectives. Her class actually taught me a lot. You can truly see that she loves what she does and cares for her students.
Somehow, she makes everything relevant, clear, and enjoyable. She's clearly smart, but so approachable and humble. Absolutely love her and wish I could take more classes with her. I read more this semester than ever in my life and really learned a lot. TAKE HER CLASSES!
Professor Verge is an amazing professor. She is kind, caring, and very considerate towards her students. Her courses, specifically Intro to Women Writers is VERY reading heavy, but her lectures assist with understanding the readings. 10/10.
Prof. Verge is fantastic - engaging, approachable, and invested in student success. The workload is heavy, but her clear explanations and use of tools like Unstuckstudy make it manageable. I'd gladly take another class with her.
Prof. Verge is amazing. She is knowledgable, passionate, funny, and cares about her students. It is a reading heavy class but as long as you read and answer her guided questions you'll do great. She answers emails, keeps up with grading, and is an easy grader.
She is so incredible. She genuinely cares for her students and wants you to succeed. Taking this class was so refreshing because I actually learned so much without being incredibly stressed. Make sure to show up, attendance matters! Would take her again in a heartbeat.
She's very strict on attendance and deadlines (won't accept late work), but phenomenal. Very approachable, engaging, and organized. She makes class fun, the information relevant, and it's obvious she really respects and cares for her students. This professor will make you better...just keep showing up.
Professor is very kind and caring, but is strict with attendance and will not hesitate to fail you. A large portion of her grade is just attendance so do not take an early class if you're not able to get up early (like me lol). Grade is out of 100 and assignments are already weighed so you can easily track grades. Assignments and reading are long.
Lectures can be a little boring but nothing she does is without purpose. Participation is heavily graded, 3 absences won't affect your grade but the fourth knocks your grade down a whole letter grade. Very nice, approachable, and gives great feedback. Genuinely sweet and only wants to help you. Definitely will consider her for other classes.
I'd give this professor more than 5 stars if I could. She's approachable, knowledgeable, and obviously cares about the literature AND the students. Strict with attendance and deadlines, but...this is also college. I loved this class and learned a lot - wish it was a two-semester course because there is so much to cover! Great class and professor!
Fantastic professor. Very real, easy to connect with, and clearly invested in the subject and her students. A LOT of reading and exam questions require detailed answers...but a great learning experience with an amazing woman. Take care if you're lucky to get into her classes.
An outstanding professor. She's obviously intelligent but doesn't make her students feel stupid. She earns their respect by respecting them. Class is structured, organized, and VERY reading heavy. You'll work, you need to be buttoned up, but you'll learn.
Truly my favorite professor. Engaging but never overbearing. She oozes a cool vibe, while also teaching really important matters. Very approachable but holds you to high standard, so be prepared to read A LOT and respond to weekly posts.
She's a great professor for writing. She always provided excellent feedback and interacted with students one-on-one. I really love this professor. However, she gave feedback and a grade on an essay I wrote using AI (ChatGPT). It was only for that one essay, but it was the only time I didn't receive a perfect 100%. I found this out by scanning.
Reading HEAVY, but she makes it all relevant. Weekly discussion posts - and she grades them! Don't try AI or shortcuts. She'll call you out on it. Strict on attendance, but very approachable and caring. If you want to learn, you'll love her. If not, she's not for you at 8 am.
Had to drop her class, but she's a really great professor. Clear, friendly, but she expects effort and you won't just get by. REALLY strict about attendance and deadlines, so be ready for that before you take her.
Maybe my favorite professor ever. Intelligent but so approachable. Strict with deadlines and word counts and such, but gives you freedom to think for yourself. This might be the first class I didn't want to end. If you want a professor who respects you and TEACHES you, take her!
So nice and cares about her students, wants the best for us. Very knowledgeable. Likes to see effort, when she knows you actually tried on discussion posts and exams, she's happy. Super easy class as long as you read the books. She would let us know what questions would be on exams beforehand and was helpful when it came down to notes for exams.
A lot of reading. If you put in the work and think for yourself you won't have any problems. Attendance matters. Weekly discussion posts. Not a fan of english classes, but for a gen-ed requirement I enjoyed Professor Verge and her class. If you need to take a class and you don't love english, take a class with Verge! Highly recommended.
Outstanding professor and woman. Respected. Passionate. CALM. Get ready to read and to have your mind and heart touched.
