Even though the material was hard, Mr.Davis asked the right questions. He explained things in simple terms and complicated terms that gave the class more depth and available to people who were not up on terminology.

Im really enjoying this course. He makes it easy to understand and his assigments are not ridiculous in length nor do they require overly complicated content. Lots of reading but makes even complicated reading easy to understand. Really enjoy his as a teacher so far.

This class was badass and very interesting. I took it with the honors and it was fun. This is a class that you would deffinately have to go to every day and keep up with the reading. It is about as difficult as a high school honors english class. Cliff is one of the most helpful and enthusiastic teachers at cerro coso. He is highly educated and really knows his stuff.

Mr. Davis is an excellent professor. His standard for class work is high, yet reasonable. We read three books, had weekly discussion requirements, wrote 4 essays and one research paper. He is very helpful, involved in discussion.This class is challenging.

He's a very fair teacher.

Teacher's love of lit obvious. Problem is: Your grade is dependent on student interaction/participation; but frankly most students' skills far too low-like being forced back into 5th Grade. Not teacher's fault; counselors should enforce prerequisites. Felt hopeless continuing under cir****stances. Possibly make grading not so reliant on others?

He is a very good teacher. Certainly he is strict and expects a lot of his students, but he is very patient with everyone and is willing to go over paper drafts and ridiculous questions without comment. He challenges us to think critically about what we read and write, a skill I think to be of the utmost importance. I highly recommend him. :)

Professor Davis is a brilliant teacher. He keeps the students entertained and helps them (well, us) to learn all we can, challenging us to go beyond the surface. While Clifford Davis is certainly not the easiest of instructors, he is nothing if not fair, helpful, understanding, and yet strict enough to retain order. I highly recommend him to anyone

I took Professor Davis' online Freshman English class. I was very nervous at first because this grade actually counts on your transcript. I learned a lot from this class and I have a better understanding of how to read novels. This class does require a lot of work however, he is a very helpful teacher and is on point in his "question" forum.

I thought he was really fun to listen to during class because he gets really into what he is talking about which makes it fun. The paper topics are interesting because they always have some sort of unique twist that gives it a little edge. I would defiantly recommend his class for English 102. It was a great ending for my Cerro Coso days.

Professor Davis' class was a lot of fun because he really enjoys the subject he teaches. The class discussions were always interesting because he asks questions to keep it going. His papers can be difficult, but he's very willing to go over drafts with you. There are also group readings of drafts so you can get peer reviews, which can be helpful.

This is one of the best teachers at Cerro Coso. I take his class at every opportunity. He is not necessarily easy, but he challenges his students to do their best work, which makes you quite proud in the end. He inspired me to be a good student in all of my classes. He also helps students in any ways he can--email, office hours, or in class.

Professor Davis is extremely straightforward with what he wants from his students. He is always available via email to review and give you feedback on your papers. I actually learn to write in this class. This was a online Summer class.

Great instructor. I took this class online, but he was always quick to respond to emails and very helpful. His expectations are made crystal clear and he offers great feedback. Instructions are easy to understand and follow. There is a LOT of reading and writing. Not an easy A, but he is fair & wants you to succeed. I recommend him.

I LOVED Cliff Davis' class! His paper prompts actually gave me something to write about. He was always extremely energetic in class. His comments on my papers (and rough drafts that he would always go over with us) were very helpful. If I were to take another English class, I'd try to get into one of his other classes.

Davis is an incredible professor! Not the easiest, but one of the best for sure. His instructions are clear, and he will help you achieve them. I highly recommend him! I hate English and somehow I walked away from the class with a good grade and having enjoyed (though it was still a bit stressful at times) my time with this professor.

I took him several times and failed but i kept coming back cuz he is that good and i learned so much. His 102 class gave me this skills to easily write at the graduate level. Professor Davis is one of the best professors I have ever taken a class from. His energy was never too much, nor was I looking at the clock every five minutes to leave. His background from being a classics major was quite evident from his teachings. It made the readings more enjoyable. His grading was fair and even lenient at times.

I had Professor Davis last semester got freshmen comp and immediately signed up for his advanced comp class this term because he's such a brilliant teacher. He has a very attractive teaching style and he's unbelievably knowledgeable. He spends a lot of time helping students. (And he's really cute!)

I've had Professor Davis for 4 classes up at CCCC. He's not easy per-say, but he is always available to help make it easy. Definitely take him up on his office hours and email. His lectures are fun, and he knows the material well. He is definitely a must take in the English department--especially when compared to the other professor at this level

I hadn't heard much about him until I attended the spring awards ceremony and saw him receive an award. So, when one of his classes was open, I was excited to have him as a professor and wasn't disappointed.

When he grades your paper he says "good content needs more editing".

LOVE him!!! He is so willing to go out of his way to help you to make sure you get a good grade. He also makes you feel really good about the work that you have put in. He outlines exactly what he is looking for and if you have any questions he will take the time to clarify. Taken all the classes he teaches just because I love his teaching style!

Professor Davis is an exceptionally intelligent, respectful, and helpful instructor. He expects a lot out of his students but is always more than happy to read drafts and answer questions. His grading criteria are clear and his feedback is specific and constructive. I would highly recommend him to any student who wants to become a better writer.

Mr. Davis is not like other boring English teachers, he is a COOL teacher! Other teachers give you a big boring textbook but he gave us The Odyssey, Frankenstein and classic fairy tale book for required materials. The books were so entertaining that I actually kept them to read again. He works along with you and is very clear on his lessons. 10/10

Professor D's English 102 class isn't easy, but he gives a lot of help and really works hard to clarify difficult assignments. I strongly recommend him as a teacher.

Clifford Davis is an outstanding teacher and mentor to his students. He responds to emails faster than any professor I've ever had and has unlimited patience for our questions. He's the best! :)

Professor Davis became one of my favorite professors in the short semester that I was able to take his class. If you are an English major, it is almost guaranteed that you will have fun in Professor Davis's Intro to Shakespeare class. You'll come to see that his apparent cockiness is justified through his intelligence and knowledge of Shakespeare.

Professor Davis's ENG101 class is tough but rewarding. Expect lots of papers and homework, and he grades strictly. He explains material clearly, but isn't flexible if personal issues come up—deadlines are firm. If you're organized and ready to work hard, you'll improve your writing and get a lot out of the course.

Professor D's classes are tough, but he helps students more than any teacher I've ever had. He also has a great sense of humor which makes his classes fun. He's a cool dude. You better get ready to work, tho! :)
