Incredibly boring. Class consists mostly of writing journals on the internet and watching movies. I've been more impressed with high school English teachers.
awsome teacher, very laid back, if you need one of these classes, take him
Great sense of humor, absolutely adore his personality. A fair bit of writing, but you don't really have to worry about formats. It's more along the lines of your OPINION of what a piece says than quizzing you on it. Truly enjoy his commentary on papers, and kinda sad I didn't take him for 1301. One of my favorite teachers.
Online class; he lets u turn in like these drafts, and then you turn in a final and that final grade replaces your drafts; did journals almost every week, but not a big deal. Very easy discussions- basically your opinion. Very helpful and good w/ communication. Loved it!

I took Mr. Hudder as an online class... we had to turn in a journal every week..along with a rough draft or final draft to a paper..and post on the discussion board. I liked it alot but it is not for everyone. EASY A! It was alot of online material but i got alot from his class.
Mr. Hudder was awesome. I took this basic english class 20 years ago and received a B. I am trying to get into a nursing program which requires A. His approach is all about revising and he gives you plenty of opportunity to revise. I would recommend him to anyone. He is patient &is interested in you learning how to write to the best you can!
Great teacher. There is a lot of work involved for the online english class but very well worth it.
AWSOME PROFESSOR!!! TAKE HIM if you want an easy grade. He grades very easy and helps you revise your paper before turning it in. No word limit or page limit required. Very AWSOME!!
Helpful, reasonable and entertaining.
I took Prof. Hudder's class online and thoroughly enjoyed it! I definitely learned a lot about different writing techniques. There was a good amount of work, but thought all the assignments were reasonable. Great class!
Good Teacher, he is one of the few proffesors who aren't bent on failing students. Definetly recommended.
I enjoyed his Texas in literature and films class. We watched Texas films in class and analyzed them. I liked that he let us revise our papers and did not require a specific number of words. You did miss pit if you did not go to class.
I took this prof's online class! It was a lot of work, but I really learned a lot! All his instruction is very concise as far as what is expected of you. He gives good feed back on your essays and you get to correct them to submit a final copy! Learned a lot! Definitely reccommend!
I absolutely dread english!! I hated reading and writing!! Mr. Hudder's class was very interesting..there is a bit of writing involved, but he lets you turn in rough drafts and gives them back to you to make the necessary corrections. Made A's on everything and I am scared to death of writing!!! Great Professor! Really Caring!!
Tottaly blown away, this guy is the best teacher I have ever had and I have been going to school fo a while.
Mr. Hudder is one of the coolest teacher from the english department. He subtle sarcasm made class very interesting...in a good way. He will cure your English writing phobia!
Yeah I agree with most of u guys. He is probably the best teacher alive in this solar system. He made all of our assignements crystal clear, he treated us like fellow humans instead of diseased livestock (like most proffesors)and respected our time. I recomend him to everyone even someone who doesnt need an English class......He's that good
I took Hudder during the summer of 2006 so I didn't have to take comp 2 at TCU. Best idea ever! For the most part Lone Star Profs. cant touch the quality we have at TCU but Hudder is the man. I graduate this May with a finance degree from TCU and it was still one of the best classes I have taken in college, TCU or Lone Star. Take him
Mr. Hudder is te best English teacher that I have ever had. I had him for English 1301. I really didn't like English before entering this class and he made made it very enjoyable for me. He actually made have a positive attitude about writting papers. TAKE HIM!!
Love Love Love his class. Took online course, notes are very good and assigments very clear. Not an easy class, but you will finish having learned a lot.
Yeah, what they said.
This is the worst professor I have ever came into contact with. RUN! do not take him! He is crazy!
Took Hudder's online English 1302 class. His class requires alot of effort but nothing extremely hard... just alot of it! He is very helpful with the papers - he gives great feedback and answers your emails quickly.
Do not take his class!!!!!! Final is out of this world, mainly fill in the blank, short answers and essays. If you decide to take it read and re-read EVERYTHING! Beware
If you are in search of a blow off class, this definitely isn't it. I took it online and found it to be quite a bit of work. The mid-term and final are to be taken on campus. As long as you have read the notes, you will do fine (although it can be very time consuming reading over everthing). Overall I enjoyed the class, and even ended up with an A.
I took Hudder for Japanese Literature. The class started out with 25, and ended with only 5 of us. He's the nicest guy ever, good sense of humor, extremely chill, as long as you go to class he'll work with you on things. Turned in some things late, but as long as you turn it in it's ok. I would recommend him. Not the easiest, but I did make an A.
Mr Hudder is a great teacher.. I took his online 1302 course...it was not overwhelming, however, there was a lot of reading... He is very helpful, and responds quickly to emails. Mr Hudder gives great feedback on your papers. Would definitely recomend his class.. not to hard .. but not a blow off class.
Best teacher ever. He is actually interesting, and loves what he does. Very understanding, and very professional and prompt. I highly recommend him.
He was my favorite professor last term, and I never met him once! His online class was actually interesting, and his lectures weren't terrible to read. If you are new to online classes, I highly recommend him. He is very helpful, and his weekly assignments were fairly easy if you kept up with them.
I took this class online during the summer. Great professor! Fairly easy for a literature class. Fun reading/essay assignments. Used the book A LOT. Final exam was simple and we got to use notes. You can definitely get an A if you just put forth the effort. Highly recommend him for online! :)
I took the traditional summer course. Show up for class and you will get a good grade. There were many reading assignments, but the material was funny. I believe they matched his interest in reading. He kept it humorous. Unless he tanked me on the final, I received an A.
I took the online comp II class, it was tons of readings. A paper on each reading each week. He writes novels each week.. read them the tests are as much over his writings as the text book.
Took the online version Spring 2011. Great class, really enjoyed his style of teaching. Keep up with the reading, it all shows up on his tests!
Class consisted of him standing up front and rambling on about really unnecessary things. Class was extremely boring and uninteresting. The only major grades given were a midterm, final and about five essays. The midterm and final were bogus. Every class i went to I felt like I was in a Texas history class and not an English class.
Super awesome. Took his online mini-mester. Lots of reading. 1 page paper a night. A 3 page paper due every 3 nights. Really funny, clear, easy-going, makes you push yourself. Tons of work for a mini-mester, but worth it. Mr. Hudder is great!
Very demaning essays due every week. Did not answer emails very fast. Required way too many words for discussion. Very hard grader. Do not take if your not very good at engish subject. Took online.
I took his class in the spring of 2012. I do not like english, especially poetry and all that stuff but I thought he was a good professor. He was not hard at all. He was very clear about his assignments and I thought he was a fair grader. There is a lot of reading, but it is English so it is expected. I passed with a B.
Very helpful. Compared to my other English teacher he actually gave me good advice on my essays and how to improve on them instead of giving me a straight "F". Took him for a mini-mester. If i could i would take him again ^^
I took ENGL1301 with Prof. Hudder during a summer mini and he was a FANTASTIC teacher. Even though I took him through an online course, he was still very personable and funny. English has never been my strong subject, but he always returned my papers with encouraging comments and I passed with an A. Definitely going to try to get him for ENGL1302!
I took him for Creative writing. He was great, funny guy, great class enviroment and has a love for the written word. However doesn't give out grades so you won't know what in the world you are going to make till after the class is over. If you want to grow as a writer and have some fun you should take him.
Took the 8Wk course online and the work load was very INTENSE, but manageable if you put forth an effort. LOTS of reading and LOTS of writing, but definitely worth it. This guy's online lectures are really fun and the material is somewhat interesting. Final was bogus, but overall great teacher and easy grader. Very helpful with feedback on essays.
He really needs to go find out how to lecture. He gives way too much essays. Instructions are more than the questions. Instructions are not clear. Makes it very difficult for you
Honestly, he is bad about communicating with you about everything. You email him a question and he never emails you back. His whole online class is so confusing all the dates are wrong and you have a journal due every week. And you have like 5 essays to write. Worst teacher ever.
Mr. Hudder is an amazing professor! One of my favorite! The weekly readings he writes are fun to read, especially since he has such a dry humor. I never read the readings until right before the final (they are definitely on there!) He does however have a higher work load, but it's college.
Mr. Hudder is an awesome teacher and his class is very interesting. I took his literature class over the summer so the reading was intense, but the tests were easy if you take notes and pay attention in class. He lets you use your notes on the tests. Easy A if you put forth a little effort.
Professor Hudder's lectures were the highlight of my week. He has a fantastic sense of humor, which helped create a very friendly atmosphere in the classroom. I took a writing class and there was a lot to write, but the assignments were interesting and the instructions clear. He is helpful, available if you have questions, and very reasonable.
Dr. Hudder is an awesome professor! I took his online minimester class and it was an easy A. Do all the work and it'll be a breeze. His essays are pretty easy. Be sure to read the online lectures. Great prof! 10/10 would take again! I wish I had him for ENGL 1302!
I took this class online and Prof. Hudder was very easy to work with and understand. There are many essays but when you turn in you rough draft he tells you exactly what needs to be fixed. If you have any questions he helps you a lot. He understand that everyone learns differently and takes that into consideration. PARTICIPATION IS KEY!.
I had Mr Hudder for both 1301 & 1302 and I absolutely loved every minute of his class. Even though I took his online classes. He is very attentive and responds back fast when you have a question. Very quick grader as well. Assignment just are super easy. As long as you turn stuff in on time and show effort youll pass with flying colors. TAKE HIM!!
I loved his class for both ENG 1302 and 1301! His lectures were always the highlight of my week. I even have a whole paper full of his hilarious quotes. His gives out daily assignments, then discusses them the next class. If you take notes, then you can use them for the test. I would definitely take him again!
I took his ENGL 1302 online and he's an AMAZING teacher! Very professional and funny at the same time. Do the work and read the assignments. Extremely easy A.
Very chill and laid back. Not too strict about due dates. 5 papers, he'll tell you exactly what to fix in your rough draft so each paper is basically a free A by the time your turn in your final draft. Pretty easy class, the one pain is he assigns 1-5 paragraph "journal writings" (non graded) about what you've read in the textbook pretty frequently
You will be expected to read. The readings were difficult for me but he is such a great professor and he literally corrects all of your papers and all you have to do is fix what he corrected to make an A! Only 2 Test! Also he is very sarcastic but it is hilarious!
great professor. 3 papers 6 journals and 1 final. easy A
I read the good reviews about Dr. Hudder, and I am very glad that I took him during the summer semester. He will go over your essay and gives good feedback to improve your grade. I always had an "A" when I fixed my paper! He is very nice and calm :)
Hes awesome! Very calm and funny, understandable material and clear grading
You will have journal entry every week and five papers to write including a research paper. Each paper has a draft with great feedback to what to correct for the final. Final grade for each paper replaces your draft. So your first draft you can bomb on but if you do what he wants corrected then your paper becomes an A. Do the work and get an A.
Talks alot in his online class. Expects detailed work in everything. has a mid term and a final. First assignment is incredibility easy. Likes to bring up sports he likes. Gives useless information. lots of papers to write.
Dr. Hudder is amazing! As long as you do the work it is an easy A.
Loved taking this class. Very understanding professor. Working full time and going to school isn't an easy task in life , Professor Hudder really made this semester less stressful. Need more professor like him!!!!
Prof. hudder is a supper cool prof. Though its a lot of assignments they're easy & split into weeks. You have to purchase the literature book to quote it, but I sparknoted every play to write my paper. each week a discussion, journal and an emailed assignment. 3 papers. VERY EASY TO PASS IF YOU COMPLETE THE WORK. TAKE HIM!!! EASY A.
Professor Hudder is a very caring and fair professor. He really grabbed my interest in plays that I initially dreaded. He gives you the opportunity to edit and revise your papers and even points out the areas that need to be corrected. I highly recommend him and would gladly take another class that he teaches. Great job Professor Hudder!
The requirements are all laid out in the syllabus and he provides a "goals for the week" so you know what is expected. If you try you get an A. There's a journal entry every week, 3 major papers and 2 exams. Every once in a while there is a discussion post. You definitely need to read all his lectures and read the assigned stories in the textbook.
Class work is pretty simple, just read your book answer the weekly questions and turn in your papers on time and this will be the easiest class! Hes awesome gives great feedback on major papers!
Dr. Hudder is definitely an expert in his field. He gives great feedback and is very responsive. He has high standards for grading, so you must go above and beyond what he is asking for to get a 100, which can be a bit frustrating. Other than that, highly recommend!
Dr. Hudder always gives amazing feedback, gives constructive criticism when needed, and grades quickly. He answers emails and questions immediately, and honestly wants you to succeed. The online Readmes are lengthy, but they're full of valuable information, and there's only 2 Exams - the midterm and the final. Don't waste time. Take Dr. Hudder!
Though you write a lot of papers in the class, they are not hard to do. The reading for each week relate to the paper you will be writing. You analyze these papers. There are typically no page or word limits, and you are the one that picks the topic. When we moved to online nothing changed. I would definitely take another class with Dr. Hudder!
Absolutely loved Dr. Hudder. Lectures are interesting and funny. He gives great feedback and is quick to reply to emails. Highly recommend.
Professor Hudder is great! He cares about his students, and gives excellent feed back! He responds quickly to emails, even outside his office hours. You will learn a lot in his class. You do need your text book. As long as you read you weekly assignments, do your discussions, respond to two classmate, and do the essays you will make a good grade.
Another great semester from Dr. Hudder. For 1302 he really helps to break down literature with his typed lectures. There were 3 main papers (with rough drafts) and a journal once a week. He grades your papers very fairly and then literally tells you what to fix. If you fix what he tells you your grade will go up. 10/10 would take again
Lots of writing, even more reading, but Professor Hudder gives excellent feedback that shows he really pays attention to the work his students submit. Nearly impossible to miss any assignments and still receive credit, but he can be understanding as long as you communicate with him.
The first 3 weeks of this class I thought I was going to drop out. There is A LOT of writing and critical thinking involved. The reading material can get very difficult but prof. helps break it down, he is amazing! I learned so much in this class. The lectures are interesting and thought provoking. If you follow his instructions you will excel
Dr. Hudder is great! His class is fairly easy, just make sure to do all the assignments; everything counts in this class but it all helps. His style is friendly and casual, he gives great feedback and he focuses on teaching, not punishing, so if you follow his advice you and your grade will improve! Both the midterm and the final exam were online.
Dr. Hudder is Amazing. I took him for both Engl 1301 & 1302. His lectures are informative and super helpful. His assignments are not hard, he gives really good feedback, and grades fair. He is pretty understanding and lenient about late work. If writing isn't your strong suit I would definitely take him I can write good essays very easily now.
Came into this class thinking it would be simple but was SHOKED when I was half way trough the semester and noticed the amount of exaggerated work this professor assigns. I truly don't understand why everyone rates him so high and so low on difficulty when he is a tough grader!
Professor Hudder is an amazing professor!! I took his online course so you do have a lot of reading. He is very lecture heavy but it really is helpful to succeed in the course. He grades fairly and is very understanding. As long as you communicate with him he will definitely accommodate for you.
She gives you a lot of information to shuffle through but if you read it all it can be insanely helpful. At first I was confused about her structuring of the weeks and assignments but once I got it down her class got a lot easier.
Professor Hudder was a phenomenal professor! Everything was laid out to you on week one and was followed to a T. His lectures were amazing and the only things graded were the journals and the final drafts of every paper. In total there were 18journals and 5essays. Though his grading may seem a little rough, it is meaningful. I would take him again!
Each week you are given 2 assignments to complete, a journal entry and a writing exercise as well a some light reading. As long as you read the assignment posts each week and put a little effort into your writing this class is an easy A. His draft gradings tell you exactly what to fix and if you do that and extra you most likely get an A on it.
Great professor hands down. Gives amazing feedback on essays and wants all his students to succeed.
He is an amazing professor that cares about his students. We had an issue with our required textbook being unbelievably expensive this fall semester and he provided us with the reading material the whole semester so we didn't have to buy the book. He is so understanding and grades fairly. I learned a lot in his class.
My favorite professor! 5 essays, in class final, and journal entries. Makes you do rough drafts that are replaced by final draft. He gives you feedback on rough draft and tells you what to do to get A on paper. Offers extra credit opportunities. The most annoying thing were journal entries which were reflections of the readings, but they are easy.
Loved Prof. Hudder. He was always so nice and willing to give detailed feedback about essays, and was a pretty quick grader. He gives you ton of room to write about what you are actually passionate about, and he tries to explain everything as simply as possible. P.S. Make sure to stay on top of the journal entires, they build up fast.
I took his 1301 class in-person and loved it, which is why I decided to take his 1302 class online. He was kind enough to provide the textbook for us for assignments that required it. He really cares about his students and their improvement. It wasn't a lot or hard work, I just needed to manage my time better since it is quite a bit of reading.
Great English professor! He really covered every basic aspect of English literature! Would definitely take again! I especially liked how he taught the poetry section of English, and I also liked how the class wasn't so "essay" focused.
His textbooks weren't mandatory since he used a lot of the textbook pages in his D2L lessons. He always had extra credit options and was a very understanding professor. This class was very easy but time well spent.
