This guy is a ton of fun. Really hilarious. The material is a bit dry at times, and there are lots of graph, but his yankee/political jokes always lighted the class. He includes the class in his lectures and jokes cracks a joke and moves on where there is no imput. Take this class if you can.

He's a great teacher tells you exactly what you need to know and he's not out to make you fail, yea the subject is a little dry but he makes it as interesting as its gonna get

He did an excellent job considering many in the class didn't want to be there...or anywhere for that matter. Brit humor had me laughing. Lessons were concise, workload moderate, lessons well thought out. Very flexible in grading. Really wants you to learn.

Great Professor. He made Economics seem interesting and fun. If you review his Blackboard notes and review questions you can easily get an A in the class. Loved the class.

He is a great Professor. He posts all notes and sample exams on blackboard. If you send an email he responds quickly to help you. He makes jokes, sometimes without 1/2 the class knowing. I really enjoyed his class. Take him ! He has a great accent as well!

Really nice teacher. Great professor! If you dont understand something just raise ask him and he'll explain it. I personally thought his jokes were humerous. Just look at the sample tests he gives and memorize the answers and thats his test. He might throw in another question or two from the lecture

Professor Belfield is the best. His material is a little hard and boring but that is not his fault. The class avarage is like a 50 so if you score above that you should get over a B. You also have lots of extra credit opportunities.

Def take this class. Easy A if you go. The tests are very hard but look at the sample test he gives you, do the extra credit and participate in class and youre bound to get an A. The classes are kinda boring but worth going to, he crack some hysterical jokes throughout them.

Professor Belfield's tests happen to be very hard but he gives you a lot of opportunities to do extra credit. If you do the EC and study for the tests then it is not hard to do well.

Funny guy, class is a lil tedious but the lectures do help. Study from notes & blackboard & do the x-tra credits - you should be fine!

Great professor. Although the workload is abundant he definetly tries to help the students understand the concepts. If you ever have an opportunity to take him, take his class. If you do your work (reading the textbk is not necessary) you will do fine. Attend most of your classes because he knows when you are absent.

He not out to fail students. Gives tons of extra credits. Just wants you to learn. Explains materials extensively. Exams are a mix of multiple choice and short answer (which isn't a walk in the park) but if you pay attention and read all the materials, it should be ok.

Truely one of the best prof. in QC. Very funny, and hyper, makes even the most boring subject interesting. Exams aren't easy but you can get a good grade since if you do well above the class average you get an a so if class average is a 50 and you get a 70, you got an A. I look forward to taking him again!!!

I can't say that he is easy, but if you listen to him, come to his klasses you'll do fine. He gives you extra credit work so you could always catch up if you did bad in the midterm.

do no take him because his 2 midterms are hard and you have to write an essay..he gives extra credit but those are essays as well and it's complicated. but i'll admit, he is a nice guy but HARD CLASS!

Very good teacher, explains the material well. His tests are really too long (no one had time to finish), but he's a pretty lenient grader. I averaged about an 85 on his tests & got an A. Also makes the class a lot of fun.

One of the greatest econ professors I've met. He is one of the most interesting and intellectual professors. He actually KNOWS his stuff and KNOWS how to teach a college-level class. (which is not always the case w/ all professors) I would def. rec. him as a professor in any/all courses he teaches. Just read the book/notes & you'll be set!

He's an extremely nice teacher and attendance does count a little because he takes it on random days for part of your grade. Do the homework because it helps a lot. Great class. he gave us many opportunities to get a good grade, by assigning extra credit, curving his exams and giving similar practice exams. homework about every week on the internet, which is 30% of the grade, and is very helpful+easy. the class was in a lecture hall, which made it very difficult to stay awake tho..

I love this guy! He is hilarious and a pleasure to listen to, he really makes economics come to life. He gave a midterm (super easy) and a final (much harder), as well as the Aplia homeworks. I recommend reading the textbook. He gives out a review sheet before the final and has a couple days review when goes over everything and answers questions.

Not an easy A but a very managable course. Homework online every week so just do it with the book open in front of you. Attendance not mandatory. Multiple choice midterm so just study the answers from the homeworks. Final was more difficult (not multiple choice) so go to quizlet and study all the terms. He gives some extra credit and he does curve.

professor Belfield has his own humor. He gives us many examples to explain the course. For final test , he gives up a review video on youtube, i can see that he put effort on his class. I dont know my grade now, but i like his teaching way.

3 midterms & a final (first 3 MC) and final was mostly econ math problems. The MC tests are hard because its not similar to his review sheet but if you come to the lectures you'll understand everything easier than just reading the ppt slides. Final was not as hard if you understood the math in class. He curves. Go to class and you'll do fine.

The class grades are heavily curved-- whatever that means. (70ish is A or B range-- again, this is really up to him.) Exams highly resemble the review sheets, whereas the lectures are mainly him doing proofs and reading slides. I recommend getting the book to learn everything-- some stuff on the tests were not on the powerpoints he distributes.

Thorough course with a lot of material covered, 1 Midterm(MC) and a Final(Open Questions) and homework/quizzes are online. This isn't a course most people can cruise through, you will have to commit time outside of class to understand the material as it is heavy in economic theory and math. Prof. will curve depending on class performance.

Very interesting course, there is some math involved. Take home midterm, 12pg paper, and a final. Do your best, come to class, listen to the lectures, participate, put effort into the essay and you will do well. The complainers are those who don't show up/participate. Lectures are very informing and the professor has sense of humor. Recommended.

The material is tough but he isn't. He's actually super laid back, very approachable and has a good sense of humor. Gave lots of extra credit just for showing up. Class graded on online homework and quizzes, one midterm and one final. Stay on top of the online work and you'll do fine.

TAKE HIM. 1 midterm, 1 final, LOTS of homework but it counts for 40%. I failed the midterm with a 50, got a 70 on final, an 88 in homework, and still got an A-. Go to class because he gives up to 12 points of Extra credit on your class grade for attendence. Life saver

It's ridiculously obvious that the last three reviews were written by the same person. Either that, or the word "toil" has become ever so increasingly popular. But onto Clive... He was good! Not like life changing, but I'd say he was definitely good. Class wasn't too confusing. Tests were straightforward. And an 80 or so was an A.

Great Professor. Participation is a must but if you pay attention the class is interesting. He goes over the topics that will be on the exam. Easy A and a great W class. Only one midterm and final. Very little homework. Really nice professor, would take again!!!

All of these bad reviews are by the same person.. Id take them with a grain of salt. Looks like the guy is talking to himself lol. Id say belfield is a decent professor. The workload is more than managable. No surprises. He tells you exactly what he expects of you. And he curves like a beast. My average was in the low 80s and I got an A.

Gives alot of EC in-class so show up. Online Pearson HW assignments due 1ce every week (Sunday night 12a) during the semester. They're annoying & tedious af, but manageable & will help u get an A-B. He assigns online homework that is due every Sunday. You have to be on top of your online homework, he won't extend them. Go to every class because he gives opportunities for extra credit that will count for your final grade. He will tell you what to expect for the final and how to approach each question. I highly recommend this professor.

His lecture is not that great since its just throwing stuff randomly at you and expects you to just know. He makes up for it with extra point tho

Belfield cares about his students and wants them to pass. If you show up to class and you just do the practice you will be fine. Two exams were online(one was dropped) and in class final which he reviews for and gives sample test. He's funny and please show up. Belfield is a great guy

And I thought I was gonna get a C or a C-, but since there was a curve, my grade went up higher. Overall, pretty good.

He's a very good teacher. Tests are mostly based on the slides and things he says in class. For this reason, you will do poorly if you don't go to class. If you go to class you should be fine. The textbook is available online for free, as well.

Professor really simplified the course in the notes he provided to the class which were available on his website for further review outside of the class setting. Only two exams the entire semester; the midterm and the final. There were plenty of opportunities to improve your overall grade as the professor often gave in class extra credit.

spring 2019 - He's a pretty funny guy and makes lectures kinda fun and enjoyable? Also, gives a small break in which he plays music and made us all laugh. 2 Midterms (lowest gets drops), 1 Final. LOADS of extra credit / classwork participation in the form of a small paper that you hand in... His curve is pretty generous too.

Professor Belfield is great and generous!! His class is very interesting, and you will learn a lot. He gives small breaks in each class. We did two notes (essays), one final paper, and a final exam. There is a chance to improve your grade with the extra credits. Participation in class matters. Pay attention in his lecture and don't miss the poll!!

Decent teacher and you really don't need to the textbook but its free online. Participation is poll heavy so GO TO CLASS. He also might give extra credit. No homework, 2 midterms, 1 final. First off, no homework. If he knows your face, you're golden. He hates disruptions, don't go shouting with friends. Phones going off are ok, but not ideal. He learns things about his students and somehow incorporates them into his lectures. Like I had a koi named Sunshine and she became an inside thing :)) Take home midterm, in-person final. Fun!

He's a great professor who is also hilarious. No homework is assigned, but you must attend class. Every class, he will ask you questions to answer that will be used to determine your attendance and participation scores. The midterm is given online with multiple choice questions, while the final is given in person with just short answers.

Once Professor Belfield recognizes that you understand the material and engage in every class, I can assure you will get an easy A for this class. Don't forget to elaborate during the final.

Good humor, makes the class active, uses a lot of real-life examples that help make a topic very easy to understand, easy participation calls on you row by row for simple answers, extra credit is very simple, course material such as slides and PDFs are very efficient and manageable to understand, no hw or tests, just the final.

he has everyone answer a q in your seat order so be prepared. ask questions at least once a class bc ur grade is mostly participation. if he simply knows your name bc u talk he will help-i missed a couple classes but he still gave me 100% participation. the exams r kinda hard but curved and not even half of ur grade. hes also hilarious and british.
